Episode 5 of Partner Track, the rather weakly named 'Out of Office'. But TBH, I'm just grateful none of these ten episodes is called something like 'Horizontal Merger'.

Maybe they were saving that for season two... 😐

The episode opens with Nick going down on Ingrid in the shower. Then he serves her French toast (literal toast - that's not another sex thing). And I am sitting here in silent, steaming disbelief that she's still pining after Jeff.

Ingrid's sister Lina drops by uninvited to ask Ingrid for money to go abroad for her Cirque du Soleil audition. Ingrid isn't impressed, but when Lina's out of the room, Nick tells Ingrid that Lina is only acting up because she wants to know someone cares about her.

Lina calls Nick 'a Ken doll' in this scene, and he takes that as a compliment. This was filmed well before the Barbie movie, by the way.

Oh, Nick. No matter what happens, you will always be Kenough.

Nick drops Ingrid off to catch the coach to her company retreat. She sees Jeff and flashes back to his attempted kiss in the last episode.

The lawyers have been assigned a junior member of staff to mentor during the trip. Ingrid has been assigned a younger Asian woman and Tyler has been assigned a younger Black man.

Ingrid is immediately annoyed by how peppy and nerdy her mentee is, which felt a bit mean. In a previous episode, Ingrid had complained to Rachel about her lack of a mentor and how one of the older Asian female lawyers isn't interested in building a relationship with her. I wonder if she eventually realises she's doing the same thing by side lining this young woman?

Paralegal Justin (yes, I will always refer to him this way) has a nice scene with Rachel where he compliments the skit she's written for the retreat's talent show and gives some advice on how to improve a specific line. They have an easy, understated chemistry and I like it a lot. ☺️

Ingrid goes to her room in the country house they're staying in and surprise, surprise! She's next door to my favourite guy! She's having trouble opening her door and Jeff helps her while smouldering so hard I'm surprised he doesn't set off the fire alarm.

Soon after, Ingrid gets a notification that the paperwork has come through for the SunCorp deal, and she's still feeling guilty over not being honest with Z about the small print in the acquisition.

She goes next door and tells a shirtless Jeff that they need to get started on the paperwork because they have a meeting on Monday morning. Considering the amount of drinking the lawyers in this firm are planning over the weekend, I'm surprised the office isn't just closed on Monday to give them a chance to dry out.

the way everyone is blaming australian laws for the amount of concerts but when i google about it all i find is articles about the stadiums

a. removing them or b. willing to remove them lol

Also i can't find anything on the mcg having this restriction and suncorp (brissie) literally just changed their cap from 6 to 12 and admitted to reserving dates for taylor so...

(not trying to be greedy or entitled like im glad she's coming but the laws narrative is annoying and i want to see more proof rather then just conjecture)

See, thts what I thought too is that it’s STADIUM policy, not laws - it’d be a super silly and nonsensical law that (like I said) I am sure there would be made amendments for due to the boost this tour gives to local economies.

I did also hear about Bris being dropped for Singapore, but there’s other cities she’s done before too: Perth? Adelaide? Aus is her biggest market after the US, it’s just very odd to me

It's birthday weekend and I have dinner plans

Those dinner plans happen to coincide with Matildas vs. France quarter finals

As in, quarter finals that are playing in goddamn Brisbane

Which means I'm a) incredibly tempted to chuck out my own plans to go watch the game or b) cursed to traffic and uber hell because they're playing at bloody Suncorp.
