I forgot to add, Billy doesn’t wear his eye as much (as he should really) because he hates the way it looks. I think he’d hate the way it feels because it never fits right. His eye is permanently half/completely closed anyways. Stu tries to take it and swap both of theirs out. (It doesn’t fit but he tries.)

(And the nurses get mad that Stu keeps touching it and fucking with Billys shit.)

if they were on survivor-

Scout 

would probably get screwed over by the edit and get portrayed as a moron who annoys everyone and is only ok at challenges. but in reality he'd be pretty tight with the rest of his tribe. 

totally hogs confessionals (on purpose) and talks over people a lot at tribal council (on accident) 

might not make it all the way to merge, but would absolutely be invited back for an All Stars season.

Soldier

 medically evacuated. 

he’ll get brought back for another season to redeem himself and get medically evacuated a second time.

Pyro 

no social game, no game plan, just came to have a good time. 

better than people would think at challenges, but wouldn’t do well at tribal council and could easily be one of the first voted out. 

but if by some chance they made it to the merge, in theory, they would dominate endurance challenges by just entering their happy place and vibing out until everyone else breaks concentration.

Heavy 

challenge beast, no question. 

great at catching food for the tribe, and will take the greatest share of the food every meal. (no one would dare try to stop him.) 

great at challenges, and is liked by the rest of his tribe, but not the best social game. (not too talkative and wouldn’t really understand when he’s being manipulated and by extension, can’t manipulate others) 

would likely be blindsided before he could make it far past the merge. 

would get pretty teary-eyed if he made it to the message from home/family visit episode.

Demo 

fan favorite, no question

a total wild card when it comes to challenges, and wins a lot of individual immunities

mostly here for comic relief, but would have tons of people rooting for him to make it to the end. just like scout, he would for sure be wanted back for an all stars season. 

can be a little lazy about helping out around camp, but people don’t really care since he’s so fun to have around.

loves to fight dirty during physical challenges and probably will return home with a bunch of parasites.

engineer 

he is the greatest at solving challenge puzzles, but can’t keep up in water challenges for the life of him. 

very likeable to audience and other players. unfortunately would have a major target on his back during the late-merge on account of having many friends on the jury.

other than heavy, he’s one of the best hunters and a great provider for the rest of the team.

would look like a completely different person by the end of the game vs when he started on account of losing like 25 pounds, borderline sun-poisoning, bug bites, and growing an entire beard.

medic

agent of chaos and constantly getting in fights with the other members of the tribe (for funsies). 

can make allies just as easily as he can backstab them (also for funsies). 

gets on people’s nerves a lot at camp, but his smooth-talking give him a HELL of a social game. 

the most insane confessionals, no one knows what he’s on about, but he’s got spirit

on the better side of average for challenges, stronger than most in water and at solving puzzles, even if he’s not great at obstacle courses or other pure brute strength challenges. 

i feel like he’d also be pretty good at finding immunity idols. would have a huge fan cult-following.

sniper 

remember that one guy unnerved the rest of the tribe by spending an uncomfortable amount of time sharpening his machete while staring at the other people on his tribe eerily? that be him. 

alright at challenges, but very weak in the water. would do well trying to keep a low-profile and keep a target off his back. 

also would probably have a considerable cult-following.

spy

just here to blindside people and betray his allies, he doesn’t care about the money. 

does not help out at ALL around camp. really annoying and smug monologs during his confessionals.

he could get pretty far in the game, but even if he were to make it all the way to the final 3, no one would vote for him after playing such a cheap, backstab-y game. 

he would be very good at challenge puzzles, and deciphering messages. also great at finding immunity idols, and uses them just right. ( which is to say, right away because everyone wants him gone so fucking bad)

miss pauling

 hot take, but i think she’d be most likely to win. 

she can read people so well, is underestimated by others and would also be great at pitting people against each other without them finding out she was behind it all.

a decent fisher and could be counted on to bring food home for the rest of the tribe and wouldn’t require as much food as others. 

would get and underdog storyline

saxton hale

can’t really see him as a player, more likely he’d be jeff probst.

My version of the Poppy Playtime protagonist. They’re based on Aliens Ripley but if older. They couldn’t remember a whole bunch from the week or so around the Hour of Joy; they were attacked by Huggy and managed to make it right outside the front doors with the help of one of the other employees, who, valiantly (read *stupidly*) ran back inside to try to help. He never came back out. Anyway, Protag was found by paramedics, but the inside was empty of bodies by the time they got there. There was a shit load of blood, and after a brief scan by the cops, they just shut that shit down. They lost a couple cops and paramedics, but mostly used their instincts and ran. Like smart people who survive a horror movie.

So the protagonist ends up in a couple month long coma and comes out of it with a severed nerve that connects to their larynx. Now they haven’t been able to properly talk for 30 years (ignore my math, I’m still unsure how I fucked it up so bad)

I can’t decide if they’re late 50s or 60s. They’re farsighted, but their reading glasses have broke, so it’s really hard to see all the small faded text (which is why you can’t just read any ole file while playing)

They feel guilty bc they had been so proud to be a part of something with so much benefit and joy to kids, and now they’re finding out the actual *EVIL* that was happening to those with connection to the place. They feel guilty bc they feel like they should’ve known; *how could they have let this all happen right underneath their very nose*;etc. etc. they also have a burning hatred for the other managerial heads in the company (they themselves being head of toy production; their name is destroyed bc the prototype was enraged that one of the five main evils of the company got away or some shit like that)

It took them a while to figure out how to live and function without speech; and after a few years of slogging through a comphet (compulsory heteronormative) marriage, they finally went through a nasty divorce. Shortly after they figured out their own gender identity (or at least started the awkward process of) and their own sexuality.

Thirty years later (almost on the dot) they got the message and tape that cried for help from the factory and nearly shit themselves. Proto definitely assumed that the company had just shut down, cuz you know that the cops were paid to keep a building with almost 500 (or so) employees, that went missing and were presumably dead, under wraps from the public. They’re definitely super grateful they’ve been doing tumbling and martial arts classes, so they have been in incredible shape and can do all the crazy shit required to stay alive.

Edit: this is what I’m gonna call the Survivor AU cuz I realize that the game takes place in 2005 and not, like, 2025. And we apparently played hooky during the “hour of joy” in canon lore. Oh well

God this chapter fucked me up, in a good way. It was spooky as fuck, tense and terrifying; they’ve super upped the quality. But now I have just enough brain rot and characters to attach to to actually go through and draw up the design that’s been banging around in my head for ever.

season 45 recap: a million dollar love story

Normally, we can put castaways into clear archetypes. I’ve been watching Survivor since I was a kid, just like a lot of you. I like to think I’m pretty good at identifying the types of players. The team mom, the puppeteer, the snarker. We know the people who play hard early tend to fizzle out, that alliances of all men fall apart spectacularly without any outside force, and that the person who gets the personal growth edit rarely win in the end. How, then, did JJ and Kie turn everything we learned in two decades on its head?

To figure it out, please humor me as I start from the beginning.

ok, first, is not 9th Future anymore, Now is Survivor AU, is the same post-apocaliptic ambient but different, with the punk gang with powers, and here their powers:

MotoGP 2024 Survivor AU: - think this kinda got out of hand

Team A: Alex M., Marc, Aleix, Pecco, Franky, Luca, Fabio Q, Jorge, Alex R., Augusto, Brad

Team B: Bezz, Enea, Fabio D, Joan, Miguel, Pedro, Johann, Maverick, Raul, Takaaki, Jack

Pre-Merge

Alex gets voted out first because letting Marc have Alex is seen as too high of a threat. 

Aleix, Jorge, Alex R. Fabio Q. form an alliance day 1 and Marc joins it once Alex leaves and he has no other options. 

The Italians in Team B. all go out in a row because everyone thinks if any of them make the jury they are campaigning too hard for whoever makes it to the end. Bezz, Enea, Fabio D. never really have a chance to shine. Did team B intentionally throw the challenges to get them out well the editing will make it seem like they did.

Next we have back to back medical evacs because I don’t think any of them would actually survive on an island and I always like the dramatic previews when they have medical evacs. (Miguel, Pedro) 

The Spanish Alliance in team A starts splintering because all of them thinks they are the one in charge. Nothing ever gets done at camp which starts affecting them in challenges. Alex R starts running the alliance and gets Pecco, Franky, Luca out. 

Raul and Johann get voted out next because the others on B have an alliance. 

So they go into merge with Team A with 6 to Team B with 5. 

Post-Merge

Marc, Aleix, Fabio Q., Brad, Jorge, Alex R., Joan, Maverick, Jack, Takaaki

Aleix goes out at the first vote blindsided by Marc who had told him they were final 2. But Marc worked behind his back and got everyone convinced that if Aleix makes it to the end he’s getting every jury vote. 

Jorge goes next cause the Team B + Marc alliance think he’s too powerful and might become a challenge beast towards the end of the season 

Maverick gets voted out because the vote was going Fabio but they didn’t split the vote  Fabio somehow found an immunity idol and plays it (i do think modern survivor has too many twists but i do like when they used to have 2 or 3 immunity idols in a season) 

Takaaki voted out next because to the surprise of no one Marc switches alliance again 

Alex R is finally shown running the game and gets taken out for being the kingpin

They have the family visit and Joan wins the challenge and makes the decision of choosing to see his family takes Jack with him instead of Fabio who he had promised he would take. So Fabio decides to get him voted out and Brad, and Marc jump on that.

Marc wins the next immunity the vote goest to fire because its Marc and Fabio voting together and Brad and Jack voting together. Jack and Fabio win at fire so Brad gets voted out. 

Final Tribal Council (FTC)

Marc, Fabio Q., Jack

Marc doesn’t get why everyone is so bitter towards him, cries in his speech about having to be without Alex. Literally leaves FTC not caring about how he betrayed everyone and backstabbed them to get their cause he made it to the end. Forgot the part where you have to have the jury like you so you can win. 

Jack get accused of not knowing what was going on for most of the game. tries to defend himself by talking about how he had to play under the radar because anytime anyone became a threat Marc took them out. 

Fabio Q the star of the FTC . Gives one of the best speeches in which he explains how he played his game and why he made the choices he did. Answers every questions very thoughtfully doesn’t blame anyone for anything that happened. Manages to get the Joan swing vote. 

After The Final Cuncil

Fabio Q wins the vote (Aleix, Jorge, Alex R, Joan)

Jack (Brad, Maverick, Takaaki)

Marc (no votes)
