Made myself some SVTFOE kids for a self healing thingy (I am still in disbelief of the ending) so here are their designs I have for them so far. Right now I have no names but once I officialize their designs Ill have some along side more characters.
Prince Monarchimedes Butterfly and Scorpius Butterfly-Greason practicing their skills together in The Starship of Ostar… Morphea Butterfly-Greason is not very happy when she wake up from her sleep. Here the two love birds, Marea and Reed riding on Cloudy. I have fun drawing this.
Morphea Butterfly-Greason belongs to @dangerpack/@citadelstarcosevendeadlysins.
Prince Monarchimedes Butterfly belongs to @fountainpenguin.
Lyra (my Starco child) having a name that fit with the typical Butterfly family theme of being based on celestial bodies was actually purely coincidental in-universe. Star had remembered hearing the name in a movie she and Marco watched once and thought it sounded pretty so suggested it as a name for the baby. Marco was the one who made the connection to the constellation.
The similarity to her ancestor, Lyric Butterfly, is also a coincidence.
Valentina is really cool and I miss her work! It was very interesting and one of my inspirations for my art! Its really sad that a creative person left the svtfoe fandom.
I made a tomstar fankid!!! I’m probably a few years late but I do what I want.
Her name is Amor. I noticed that a lot of the Lucitors’ name and/or surname ends with -or(Tom Lucitor, Relicor Lucitor, Wrathmelior Lucitor), plus Star’s cheek marks are hearts so Amor sounds like a good name for her. Amor Lucitor-Butterfly. (Despite Amor being her name she isn’t really interested in love or romance; she can be flirty but that doesn’t mean she likes someone.)
She likes wearing headbands(like her mom), her favorite one being the horned one. Aside from her tiny fangs and pointy ears she doesn’t have a lot of demonic traits due to her having only 1/4 demon blood. She thinks her dad’s horns are cool and that’s why she wears the horned headband all the time.
Looks like a cinnamon roll, can and will kill someone if necessary. She’s really chaotic and violent at times but is very very adorable, which is what makes her dangerous. She’s also interested in macabre things, so it’s no surprise that Janna is her favorite Aunt to hang out with. Also her cheek marks are shaped like a coffin.
She wears braces! She used to have prominent fangs but the royal nanny strongly advised her to wear them so she’d appear more ‘desirable’ to other royals, which she still doesn’t understand.
I did some doodles of Serena (being with her horse just like a Disney princess uwu) a year ago. I dropped this project for a while cause drawing the skeleton horse was so difficult (even with references) but I'm so happy I finally finished it now ☺️💗
I saw your opinions regarding Morningmark and I wanna ask, how do you feel about his Ship War Au and Starco Citadel stuff?
Personally, I never cared for it because of how starco biased they bother were. But I did like the concept of a fankid multiverse.
No opinion. Not really invested in any fankids, they always felt like cheap attempts at shipping fodder for me. (And not even good shipping fodder. Just blatantly shoving your OC into things and pretending it makes the story any better? Where's the themes? The status-quo breakage? How does it affect the world?)
Honestly, basically the only fankids I like are the Pines triplets (children of Mabel and an OC) from Gravity Falls' Transcendence AU, because they fit with the story's themes of growing older, and how Dipper will never be able to do that again. They are characters in their own right, but more than that they are excuses to see how the main characters deal with parenting, and where their flaws and weaknesses translate to actual parenting issues that make sense for them. Their personalities are mirrors to which we can understand the main characters better, and their arcs follow the story's themes. (And I was introduced to them when I was young and wasn't immediately turned off by years' worth of fankids just being fun mix-and-match OCs with no connection to the thematic part of the stories they came from. I do admit bias.)
I suspect JessTheVampire's fankids are similar, but I have untreated attention deficit problems and no free time, so I've never actually read her story.
But I did read the Citadel comics; it was impossible not to be active in the svtfoe fandom and not read them, after all. And they... were more of the same. The Citadel itself was far too sci-fi and had no connection to the story of the actual show, the main, non-fankid characters of svtfoe were non-entities, and the story was basically an excuse to dick around with characters the creator was clearly enamored with but that I didn't care about.
And the Ship War comics... *shudders* They somehow outdid the show for stupid shipping nonsense. I don't know how that's possible, but they did it. But even worse, they mischaracterized just about everyone, especially my fave, Toffee. I've gone over this already. I've talked about this already. But it still stings. Man.
I know fankids don't have to be that deep and it's completely fine if people ignore my thoughts on what makes a good fankid and just do what they want. But it's also perfectly fine for me to bitch about it.
Anyway, yeah, don't like fankids. Sorry.
(Also from now on I'll be tagging it #morning mark salt because I suspect his fans are looking him up and then seeing my posts and getting mad at them.)
Another name fact about my next gen SVTFOE characters, this time about the Lucitor twins, Morgana and Leviathan.
While their first names were chosen pretty much as soon as Tom and Janna knew they were having fraternal twins, they never settled on middle names. When they were born, Tom came up with the idea to name them after Love Sentence, intending to name them after members of the group.
However, he underestimated exactly how much demon pain killers would effect a human like Janna (who agreed because they couldn’t deny she thought the idea was kind of dumb, but hilarious), and when she wrote the names on the birth certificate (which could not be changed once written without a lot of trouble), instead of naming each of them after a member of Love Sentence....she gave Morgana the middle name of Love” and Leviathan’s middle name ended up being “Sentence”.
Thankfully they were just middle names, so they could easily just use their middle initials. And they do, especially Levi, who quickly decided he didn’t want to explain why his middle name was “Sentence”.
In this drawing, Estrella & Alex are walking back home after he gave Estrella a tour around Echo Creek. She was very pleased with that & she’s talking about her favourite part: Britta’s tacos
