Uh...okay, I can give it a shot? I haven't been a warriorsposter in ages but like, I guess it is accurate to say that I am a fan.

Takumi: Lakescale

"Lake" because cats don't know the word "ocean" or "sea", as proven by the sun-drown-place LOL. "Scale" picked for the fact that Takumi has a snake on his katana, and "Lakesnake" sounded bad.

Takemaru: Goldenclaw

His title refers to him as a "gangster with a heart of gold"; I don't think I need to explain "claw".

Hiruko: Icedrop

Her title is "ice queen", and the first kanji of her last name translates to "drop" (as in raindrop).

Darumi: Sweetfang

An allusion to having a "sweet tooth", as Darumi does, but the first kanji of her last name also refers to sugar. Used "fang" to allude to more deadliness, and also because I'm not the world's biggest fan of putting a double letter between the prefix and suffix.

Eito: Blueshine

This one is derived from his last name, though I didn't want to use -moon directly.

Tsubasa: Quickwing

"Quick" because of her car, which has a horse on it. Wing is for part of her first name (翼).

Gaku: Shrewpounce

I wanted to allude to his abilities as a chef, so I decided a better allusion would be to make him good at hunting, hence "pounce". I think shrews fit the kind of image he presents to some degree.

Ima: Talonfeather

Kako: Swiftfeather

Putting these two together; I wanted their names to be complementary in some way. A swift is a type of bird in addition to referencing speed.

Shouma: Wolfclaw

I wanted to come up with something that would sound appropriately grandiose in the context of the WC universe, since one of the things he says is that his name is too good for someone like him. It took me a while to figure out what that might look like. "Wolf" chosen for Shouma's connection to dogs.

Nozomi: Mistlight

The character 雾 translates to "mist". IIRC, "hope" was used specifically as a tribute to an IRL person and hasn't been used since, so I didn't choose it.

Kurara: Forestmask

Look. Look. I had to. (Forest comes from 木; it actually means tree, but I wanted to go for something a bit grander. Fitting for her, isn't it?)

Kyoshika: Kestrelheart

Kestrels are a type of falcon, which is among the birds of prey. -heart for the vibes

Yugamu: Lynxfang

I wanted to come up with something that would emphasize how deadly he is. I dunno if that gets this across. -fang chosen because we have two -claws already and "Lynxtooth" doesn't have as good of a mouthfeel.

Moko: Sunnyblossom

Chosen to express her femininity and her ray-of-sunshine-ness.

I'm a little rusty on Warriors (no pun intended) but uh...I hope this all makes sense?

Adjusted feather positions on the WindClan NPCs + Moonfall in Rise of the Moon! They were at the base of the tail and given the cultural significance of that spot in ceremonial wear for horses, they’ve been changed.

I want to be clear that in our Warrior Cats DND game, Quinn, who is Native American and is the person behind the player character Moonfall (the she-cat with the long hair), is utilizing WindClan as a way to reclaim her culture from the cultural appropriation Warrior Cats + its fandom has perpetuated. Despite that we decided even though having the feathers at the base of the tail is worn in a way that is culturally relevant to her, we didn’t want to further perpetrate any more fandom misbehavior with the other NPCs. Moonfall alone gets one at the base of the tail due to the cultural significance it has for her player specifically— everyone else’ have been moved off tail base!

The feathers have specific meanings to the characters with cultural consultation from Quinn. Moonfall has raven feathers representing witchcraft, specifically Raven Mockers (as Moonfall is essentially a witch— her class in our Warrior Cats DND game is more or less a necromancer.) Stagleap who is a healer has owl feathers which are associated with wisdom and witchcraft as well. Swiftfeather’s is less complex, his are… quite literally his name! Coming from the American Black Swift.

Shrikeshadow’s have been removed entirely; her altered art is in queue.

Obviously everyone is not going to have someone to consult, nor have someone whose culture this is take effort to reclaim its appropriation back from Warrior Cats in your immediate circle. But I did just want to showcase how easy of a change this was to make. It took less than an hour. Own up to your mistakes and learn.

Carmen grew up rural, outside of Sharlayan. When her father was still alive, she learned to care for, train, and ride Chocobo. She's rather knowledgeable about them, but doesn't consider this anything special. Everyone knows this, right? Her first Chocobo ride was probably around age 3 or 4, riding between her father's legs so he could protect her. Jaye didn't ride anything living until she arrived in Eorzea. She had been driven around by magitech vehicle in Garlemald as a child. Once she made it to the Sweet and Savoury tavern, she spent some time with the stabled Chocobo there. She's not a very stable rider still, but can at least get from point A to B. Athena was assigned her first mount when she was enlisted with the Maelstrom via her connection to the Roegadyn Warriors of the area. She named him Blaze. She was extremely excited to learn to ride, but tried her best to play it cool.

Coco had ridden draught chocobo in the Thanalan area, but never needed to learn to direct one until she was an adult. She was also provided a chocobo as part of her duties in the Maelstrom. She named him Swiftfeather, and he is now retired like she is.

Swiftpaw (f), and suggestions for a warrior name?

Swiftpaw - An energetic and skilful she-cat. Swiftpaw is always eager and ready to go, she is almost always up before sunrise, she just can’t wait to start the day, “the early cat catches the mouse after all” is a phrase she is fond of saying to anyone that questions why she gets up so early. Swiftpaw always tries her hardest in her training, she wants to be one of the best warriors her clan has ever seen, and she will always work hard on her techniques, never giving up until she has it absolutely perfect, leading her to become extremely skilful, she can be a little bit of a show off about her skill set, but she doesn’t do it out of any kind of malice and will always stop if she sees any other apprentices becoming insecure, 14/10
