Magmatic Champion Maxwell ; word count:  901

     The sounds of heels clacking against cold stone echoed as loud as drums in his ears, yet still barely audible over the constant ringing in his head.

     The Champion walked with purpose, his head kept held high with a venomous scowl that served to keep annoyances at bay. On most occasions, he didn’t mind being stopped by some insolent fool who thought that they could take him down a notch or two. It was a good excuse to lash out the anger that forever bubbled underneath his skin like magma, and every beating he served aided his reputation.

     Today, however, he had other goals in mind and refused to waste time on those beneath him.

     So he let them whisper. Of how his skin had no fur nor scales. Of how he seemed to have appeared one day only to be put on top of the pyramid. Of how it’d been unheard of for someone to become a Champion after naught a single glorious battle displayed for the public. 

     The rumors only worsened his mood, he took in a deep breath   ( follow my breathing, little man, you are not alone )   and then another. He had earned his title, had proven it on training grounds and had proven it just the other day in battle. The Battlemaster himself had found his new Champion shattered, broken with nothing. It was the Battlemaster who took him in, who guided his hands and bestowed them with the volcanic power. He had been forged to glory, the cracks on his skin proof of his worthiness. 

     After all, nobody else, not even the Infernal Swineclops, before him had managed to survive being blessed with the magmatic magic. If the price was a never-ending, splitting headache and having those beneath him talk behind his back, then so be it. He was rightfully a Champion and he wore the title with pride. This was who he was meant to be, who he was made to be and he will not be denied it.

     So why did a part of him continue to refuse?

     It was what held him back, it was why he still was not respected. It was the reason his feet carried him further and further down a winding maze of hallways and rooms. He couldn’t tell why and it infuriated him. 

     That was why he kept walking, he needed answers. He needed them. Craved for it just as much as he craved for the volcanic magic that flowed in his veins.

     After narrowly avoiding an encounter with the Rhinocebro— while he could admire their tenacity and energy, they would only ever serve to annoy him with their incessant shouting— he finally arrived at his destination.

     He stared uncomfortably at the towering doors of the prisons, second guessing himself. He was risking his neck by coming here of all places, the sole place the Battlemaster had strictly forbidden him from going.

     ...but the nagging feeling that’d been persisting ever since his first official battle   ( his debut, he supposed )   refused to give him peace. 

     If he were honest, he barely remembered the fight. The fire within him had turned into an inferno at the sight of release, burning bright and blinding. His rage overtook him, blinding, as he struck down mercilessly the enemy with the power of the Forge within his hands. The fight had been short, unfulfilling; clear that they’d been caught off guard by his presence. 

     They’d been weak, how could they ever expect to survive the Forge if they were so easily unbalanced? 

     ...and yet, there he was, seeking out the weak because they had unbalanced him.

     Maxwell? What are you doing?

     It took all his willpower to not show reaction at the voice, it wasn’t even real. Merely a fragmented memory that insisted on ringing out around him. He didn’t understand it. He couldn’t understand it.

     That why he was there. He needed to know.

     Taking in a deep breath, he pushed open the doors and strode inside. He was a Champion. He will not be denied. Ignoring the rows upon rows of caged pigs and other pawns   ( but even a King is bound to the board )   he kept walking until he finally found what he sought. 

     At the very end, held in separate cages, were the warriors he had fought upon the Lava Arena. His pace slowed until he came to a full stop before them, hands kept behind his back in tight fists. 

     His head was screaming, louder and louder until he could hear nothing but the blood rushing in his ears. But he refused to cower, refused to show any signs of weakness. Weakness could not survive in the Forge.

     One of the prisoners noticed him, the man hurrying to his feet. He looked wary, his body in defense, uncertain. 

(  Is this what you were expecting? )

“ Maxwell? ”   the prisoner said, his voice apprehensive, uncertain.

     The Champion showed no reaction to the name, because it wasn’t his. He had no name. He stood tall, as frozen as a statue   ( It seems silly now )  , unable to speak, unable say a word. It felt as though his skin was tearing itself apart, perhaps it was. He couldn’t tell. He couldn’t breathe. 

    The prisoner was still speaking, seeming distraught. 

     He couldn’t hear a word.

     All he could hear was static, all he could see was red. He couldn’t think.

     You will be of use to us yet, Gatekeeper.

while drawing Klaus as Lancer, I was thinking about that Klaus is perfect as the King because he got a mouth on his belly, so I try to draw it and it looks perfect

so for Lancer, I can't choose Swineclops cuz he's too big and I was thinking about Krampus cuz klaus and krampus kinda look alike but he's big too...

Does Pugna have anything new to say?

not in the fight as it is now (currently it’s the same wave pattern as forge 1 and ends after the double-boarillas round) but there’s new lines in the files, looks like! unreleased spoiler content under the cut

the community milestone unlocks include the grand forge boarrior fight and two new boss fights, which have been kind of spoiled by their profile icons being totally visible in the treasury

Final levels, rewards, and thoughts on Forge 2

well I bought all “old” forge item packs thinking it’d be removed (oops) but i finally got all the backrounds, taunts. emojis etc with all the spools i got over time. i do really like the new items and im glad willow is great.. Like she’s really OP with the companion buffer armor, which gives bernie 1000+ hp. and distracts even bosses now. like seriously sometimes bosses will drop what they are doing if people are K.O’d and just charge after bernie. killed the swineclops that way at one point cause he found beating up a stuffed bear more necessary than killing a robot stabbing him with a sword. Now here’s hoping they’ll add more magic to gorge 2...so its not boring near the end ..or maybe increase players idunno. Cant wait for event 3! and the “future content” they got planned

🔥 your take on playing as wx

i main wx in survival, and i try my very hardest to main them in forge (i usually end up picking wortox cus wx uses are very specific)

and as much as i love playing my little bot they can get boring as hell

playing wx is just playing survival but its a little easier due to not having to care about spoiled food and also getting a speed boost in the month thats supposed to be your downfall. i like survival but i can only play it for so long before i need a new character, event, or mod to shake it up

and forge? wx's shock ability is a blessing and a curse. shock does more damage but it can stop swineclops from sleeping when you need him to. winona and wortox's abilities as tanks are better because they don't do any harm. that being said, wx is better then wortox and winona in a few areas, such as speedrunning or hard mode

wx desperately needs a rework. i still play them but its only for the aesthetic
