⚘ Sword of Spring ⚘
In the kingdom of Tir Arandor, peace with the Fae realm is a fragile thread woven after centuries stained by bloodshed and mistrust; the tenuous truce between humans and Fae rests on the shoulders of a weary king who has fought to forge a treaty in the hopes of a better future. But danger looms on the horizon, and many wish to see the kingdom plunged back into war.
You’ve grown up in the heart of the palace, raised by your mother, the king’s personal guard and dearest friend who has sacrificed everything to ensure his vision becomes reality. By your side has always been Taryn, the spare, the second-born of the royal family, and your closest friend. Now, as Taryn approaches their twentieth nameday, a grand tournament is set to determine who will act as their protector. Winning means securing your place as their guardian, but failure could leave Taryn vulnerable to the threats lurking in the shadows.
Win the tournament and secure your place at the Taryn's side, but your trials have only just begun. Dark forces are conspiring against the royal family and only you can uncover the plot. Your choices will determine the fate of both worlds.
Will you be the shield that holds back the storm, or the spark that ignites the fires of war?
The game is 18+ for the presence of sexual scenes, violence, gore, abuse, and death.

“beautiful, and willful, and dead before her time.” / “he dreamed of her at times, so often that he could almost see her face. in his dreams, she was beautiful, and highborn, and her eyes were kind.” / “you saw her beauty, but not the iron underneath.” / “the slim, sad girl who wore a crown of pale blue roses and a white gown spattered with gore.”

I'm sorry I'm still not over Riz taking the High Fantasy Equivalent Of Speed except no one remembers he weighs 25 pounds soaking wet so instead of Calming The Hell Down like we all know in our heart of hearts Riz would do if he actually took properly dosed stimulants he just sprints through all 9 phases of hyperfocus and ascends to neurodivergent godhood and starts solving mysteries you've never heard of and then becomes paranoid that someone's gonna take his memories so he goes up to a pirate and asks them to tattoo his red string conspiracy board on his flesh
#also he's sixteen and on spring break in cancun#what. what do you think this pirate thought when a highschooler with pupils wider than god walked up and asked for a chest tat of NIGHT YOR#Riz's coffee chugging is an attempt to self medicate change my mind. you can't.#Riz fucking Gukgak#he sleeps with a sword. he sleeps for four hours a night. he offered to bite a guys eye out and shove it into his best friends skull.#he can't stop breaking into crime scenes.#d20#dimension 20#fantasy high#riz gukgak

Two unpopular opinion about some things in ASOIAF:
1. I felt like GRRM making Jaehaerys a bad father kinda felt force. I get that in GRRM writing, there's no perfect people. It's not a black and white world. But this felt too force. It's like shoving to my face and say "Jaehaerys is a good king but not a good father because he's isn't all good." out loud.
For example if you made comparison between Aegon The Conqueror and Jaehaerys. Aegon is a conqueror who caused million to die but in same time you could argue that had Aegon not do his conquest, people like Harren The Black or Argallic The Arrogant who still enslave and push people below. That's where the philosophical questions came in whether he's a hero or tyrant. For Jaehaerys, it's hard to say because again, the whole thing in his family stuff just felt forced and dragging.
I am not gonna be surprised if GRRM made Daeron The Good (the king who fix the realms after Aegon The Unworthy reign) turns out to be some abuser or loser or something.
2. I really prefer the ending for Dance of Dragons event ended with Aegon III with Jaehaera instead of Daenaera. I don't know how to explain it but kill off Jaehaera kinda felt it's for shock value. The descendant from Team Black and last descendant from Team Green married and ended the war makes more sense. The fact that the line still ended with Baelor makes it even worse. What's the point then...
So you have Aegon from team Black and Jaehaera from team Green who both see these war until it's end. They got married, Jaehaera died, no children, Aegon married Daenaera, have five kids, Aegon died, Daeron died and Baelor died and the line continues with Viserys II? None of Aegon III or Jaehaera continue?

grrm has talked about how asoiaf will have a bittersweet ending and it’s time I present my thesis.
Jon Snow being king IS a bittersweet ending. Do I think Bran will be king in the end? Yes. Is Jon being king a more bittersweet ending? Yes.
Jon being king means literally everything that happened in the series is ultimately pointless. Within a generation it’s all undone. All of the people that remember the Long Night will be dead and their children will immediately doubt it’s severity and if it even happened, if the small folk in the far south ever believed it in the first place. Jon will be a good king sure, but will his children? His children that might have fucking dragons and just had their generations of Targaryen exceptionalism validated by the same apocalypse they spent centuries preparing for? Jon might be remembered as one of the best kings Westeros ever saw, but his children and their children will go right back to Targaryen insanity; incest, genocide, and all. Jon’s legacy would be ensuring the longevity of tyranny and continuing the cycle of violence.
And it would be exactly what all of the gods wanted. R’Hllor only really cared about stopping the Long Night, the Old Gods get Jon on the throne and Bran close to power, and the Seven get to maintain their spot as the preeminent religion on the continent (if they even exist).
Jon is the prophesied hero, the Prince That Was Promised, Azor Ahai reborn, the rightful king of the Seven Kingdoms by all the laws of gods and men, and a righteous, just, and kind man. and none of that will matter.

recent grrm interview puts my hopes for winds to rest..
never happening and i guess I'll have to live with it. the cope for me is that if he does ever get around to it, it would be the last book.
the double whammy of no winds and no dream still hurts tho.. i guess I'll have to find a new obsession.

⚘ Sword of Spring ⚘ Romance Options
Throughout your time in Tir Arandor, you'll be able to bond with other characters.
Some things to note:
All ROs are playersexual. Meaning you can romance them no matter what your gender is.
You can be Asexual
All explicit scenes can be skipped.
These relationships will span over multiple years, and the ages listed are the characters' ages during their 'commitment' scene.
The (current) poly option is Taryn/MC/Ali
Taryn - They/Them
Taryn, the second-born of the royal family, is a whirlwind of laughter and energy in a world that often feels too serious. With a sharp wit and a playful spirit, they bring a sense of joy to the stifling halls of Tir Arandor. But behind their humorous facade lies a deep struggle. Often called "The Spare," Taryn yearns for change, craving the freedom to carve their own path, yet they often feel powerless and trapped by the weight of their birthright. While their father supports Taryn's whimsical nature, their older brother—Lucian—watches with a mix of exasperation and concern. He carries the expectations of the kingdom on his shoulders and often finds Taryn's antics annoying, even as he understands the pressure they both face. As the responsibility of royal duty looms closer, Taryn finds themselves torn between their desire to be true to themselves and the role they must eventually embrace. Will you stand by Taryn as they navigate the treacherous waters of court life? Or will your growing feelings for them complicate their journey towards destiny?
Rhiannon - She/Her
Rhiannon is a formidable presence within the castle, a wall of strength and discipline as the best swordsman in Tir Arandor. With her striking red hair and unwavering focus, she commands respect in every training session and fight. But behind her stoic facade lies a heart riddled with doubts and fears that she dares not show. As the oldest child of the castle blacksmith, Rhiannon has trained tirelessly to prove herself worthy of respect—not just from the court but from the family she fiercely protects. Her loyalty to Taryn and the royal family runs deep, and she would lay down her life to fulfill her duty. However, earning her respect is no easy feat; she expects nothing less than absolute dedication from herself and those around her. If you can break through her defenses, the bond you forge will be unbreakable, and she may be your greatest ally or your most formidable opponent. Will you help her confront the fears that haunt her, or will your growing feelings complicate her already tumultuous world?
Lirien- He/Him
Lirien sweeps into the court of Tir Arandor like a whisper of wind through the Shadowbloom. Playful, charismatic, and brimming with secrets, he quickly becomes a figure of intrigue and danger. As the Fae ambassador, Lirien carries with him the weight of Val'Arath’s mysteries, never revealing more than he chooses to. His motives are as elusive as his smile, and his every word dances between truth and deception as he balances the unpredictability of Human/Fae relations. Despite his light-hearted demeanor, Lirien is anything but careless. There’s an edge to his charm, and his playful flirtations are laced with a deeper, more dangerous game. Will you risk getting closer to him, knowing the secrets he keeps could unravel everything? A relationship with Lirien may be intoxicating, but the price of his affection could be higher than you imagine.
Morgan - Female/NB (maybe)
Morgan serves as the apprentice to the king’s magic advisor, quietly mastering the arcane arts within the castle’s stone walls. With an analytical mind and a keen understanding of magical theory, Morgan is often reserved, preferring the company of dusty tomes and ancient scrolls to the political intrigues of the court. Their distant demeanor hides a fierce intellect and a deep curiosity about the world—and about you. While their loyalty to the crown is unwavering, Morgan is not without ambition. They seek knowledge and power, but also connection, something deeper that may lie beyond the realms of conventional magic. Your relationship with Morgan could blossom into a powerful bond, though magic always comes with a price. Will you explore the mysteries of the arcane together, or will the secrets they guard come between you?
Sorin - Selectable
Quiet, kind, and ever watchful, Sorin has devoted their life to healing others. As the castle’s healer, their days are spent mending wounds and tending to the sick. They rarely speak of their own pain, preferring to pour their energy into helping those in need. With healing magic that requires as much strength as it does compassion, they stand as a beacon of calm in the midst of the court’s chaos. But behind their gentle smiles lies a deeper hurtone they’ve kept hidden for years. Will you be the one to earn their trust and help them confront the scars they carry? A relationship with Sorin/Sylvie is one of patience and empathy, requiring you to look past their exterior and discover the resilient heart that beats beneath.
Ali - Selectable
Alister/Alista (Ali) is the person chosen to marry Taryn, a union forged out of political necessity rather than love. The ninth born to a distant noble house with a reputation for ambition, they’ve been raised to fulfill the expectations of the court. Graceful, intelligent, and always composed, they are well aware of the duties that come with their position. While they seem resigned to their fate, there’s a quiet yearning beneath the surface—whether it’s for freedom from their obligations or a deeper connection with Taryn, even they may not fully understand. As the royal betrothal takes shape, your arrival throws everything into question. Will you challenge the expectations placed upon them or help forge a lasting bond with Taryn that’s more than mere politics?

This is not a strong theory but I like it none the less. The theory is that Ser Criston Cole is Dornish spy and there were never a Grand Maester Conspiracy (where people think Maester kill the dragon to never hatch) but instead it's Grand Dorne Conspiracy.

Hear me out. Just a reminder. House Martell was in Great Council 101 where every big and small houses from North to Dorne vote between Viserys and Rhaenys or her son, Laenor to be ruler of Westeros after King Jaehaerys I. Obviously, Dorne is known to be fine with women being on the throne with history like Queen Nymeria and Princess Meria Martell.
So the theory goes is that Dorne exploit the information and experience from Great Council 101, knowing King Viserys had named Rhaenyra as his heir. So they sent Ser Criston Cole to be kingsguard and infiltrate from the inside. Ser Criston Cole being a kingmaker makes more sense. He made the Targaryen fight each other to ensure the survival of Dorne in long term.
Maybe they were overdone it because the dragons ended up extinct after Dance of Dragons event and the Targaryen ended up with no dragons. Dorne also did not effected during this whole event.
If you think I'm crazy, look up Sarella = Alleras theory or the fact that Doran sent Oberyn's bastard daughter to disguise as Silent Sister. Dorne had been playing this game for centuries.
