(xavier ramble that i posted on discord and now u get to read here <3)

so. my main faves are xavier (main), rafayel, and caleb. and i was thinking... what's pulling me to xavier over the other two? (especially caleb LMAO) i feel like i'd commonly go with the outspoken clingy dramatic boys (raf) or the 'childhood best friend' archetype (caleb) but something about xavier captivated me.

when i first started looking to him, i felt like there was waaay more than meets the eye for his character, and that's intentional, since he wants to live a quiet life, but has so much history behind him.

aside from differences in personalities and preferences (i love raf but irl im not a sea or seafood person, and i love caleb but.. but nothing. xavier just pulls me in more LMAO), xavier to me truly has that sneak attack for your heart.

he's awkward, and silly, and insanely powerful on the battlefield. he loves reading comics, playing video games, and being delusional about his cooking skills. he's a rock that you can always depend upon in a quiet life. he's cheeky and gets easily jealous, but would much rather pout and be sulky than direct that to you. its adorable. as xavier and caleb are jokingly deemed the 'possessive' duo, caleb's possessiveness to me could go left (affectionate, i know why), whereas i feel as though xavier's stems from just wanting to capitalize on your attention. he has someone in his life that he cares deeply about, its only natural for him to be a little clingy about it.

on top of the fact that he's just a good friend in of itself, keeping an eye on you and making sure you take care of yourself without crossing a boundary. he loves being around you so much so that he admires the person you are, and wants to be that type of person himself. he relishes in being recognized by you in a world where he's only ever known as an entity to be utilized, rather than a person who has feelings and passions.

'this is the first time someone's asked me to play support' he says, which sounds normal at face value, but its definitely something to be unpacked: he's not used to being the person that supports, he's used to being the leader, the strong hunter that needs no one to finish the job, the crown prince that's above all else, the leader of the backtrackers, the elusive lumiere… now he just gets to be xavier that supports his friends. he thinks of himself as a nobody, someone who used to be 'everything', not out of personhood, but out of necessity. being able to be seen by someone he loves despite everything is by far the greatest joy in life he could ever have. and i love him SOOOO MUCH FOR IT!! im sure all of the lads love mc and they make their life better by being in it, but for me, there's something so comforting and lovely about xavier growing into a person he wants to be because someone he loves makes him want to figure out who he is for himself. because the person that loves him will love him at his core regardless of who he decides to be. thats why he gets jealous because mc looks to lumiere, and im sure she's picked up on that too. he loathes the idea that she loves someone that isnt him. obviously, lumiere IS him, but it's not 'him' in the sense that it's a persona, an idea, a hero. xavier… simply thinks of himself as a man who quietly lives in his apartment and goes to work like everyone else. he doesnt have a tether to anything other than just wanting to live life the way he wants to, after living so many lives that were not given by choice. at least… not until mc.

but as an addendum to this rambling, he's just!!! great and i love his personal journey and how it intertwines with mc at the core of it. im happy he gets to be in a world where he can live a quiet life!! and his joy is by far something that leads me to him over the other lads.

-- (i love him in his entirety and i think i havent found that spark with the other lads yet. caleb is a close second though, his relationship with mc is so silly and they have such a sweet bond that im sure he cherishes. his devotion, affection, and love languages are to die for.

but i think xavier's way of being there for you and picking up the cracks when you cant or before you even realize appeals to me more. thinking about precious bonfire clips i saw and how he took every opportunity to stay by and support mc and how he looked after her, made sure she was having fun, and allowed her to use him as a scapegoat so that she didn't get burnt out or the call where he saw she was alone at a team building thing at the bar and offered to leave with her since she wasnt really keen on hanging out to begin with he's just. so sweet. hes always thinking about the small things and wants his favorite person to be happy because it makes him happy :> this doesnt even go into the smaller nuances or traits that i love about him. maybe i'll do a post about it or just how personality wise i feel like if i were to bond with anyone irl xavier would be #1 in a landslide.)

By the by, the archive site is finally up! I announced this when it dropped early May, but never got the chance to announce here. It has all of the older comics, episodes, and some unreleased stuff! I coded it all myself :> It was a doozy finding everything, but it was fun revisiting. Eventually, I'll go back and update the extras page to add some art/promo work that never saw the light of day. prime opportunity to remind folks i do have three ongoing webcomics and a game in development >:D

I am being so serious when I say: if you have the financial and time privilege to get a group of friends together and make an indie project, PLEASE do. Indie games, indie animations, indie comics etc etc

the art industries are kind of in the shitter. It’s not so much because of AI (though that doesn’t help) but because studios just aren’t hiring people and funding projects anymore. People who’ve been in the industry for decades are finding themselves struggling, and once you have a mortgage or kids it’s harder to do something as risky as making something on your own.

completing projects is hard. it takes a lot of time and effort, and most people can’t afford it. so if you CAN afford to make art, even at the risk of no financial gain, I strongly encourage you to be as resilient as you can. We’re at a point where these industries are not going to turn around by themselves, and waiting for jobs to open up again in order to get experience and portfolio work might not be realistic.

people have been making art and telling stories longgggg before we were getting paid for it, and people aren’t going to stop just because no one has hired them to do so.

for everyone else: support indie artists when you can!!!! That person who made that cool indie game or youtube animation or webcomic might be doing this full time! your support might be the only reason they’re able to keep doing it.

and if you have already started an indie project: you’re so brave and I’m very proud of you!!! in fact, drop a link to it in the reblogs if you want! 👇

Actor AU Notes

so i saw @/tboy-sylus and @/erensfeed's posts yesterday about an actor au and against my better judgement i spent like all morning and some of last night writing stuff down!

i tried to Not just headcanon everything that others had said and be Original™ but if any overlap that's because i literally cant picture them without

im also like. gonna draw stuff later but i needed to share my vision 😌

general notes

this variant is them working on the game with half footage, half motion capture, and voice acting. depending on the thing (like the battles, for example) its more viable for them to just mocap it.

since there's a bunch of game events, they're actively working while the game is live service.

some of them knew each other before working on lads

rafayel and nikki (infinity nikki) are siblings because i just think two of infold's biggest games' cover characters being siblings would be cute. i don't play infin but my best friend does 😌

hiring by nepotism™ and prioritization of connection/bonds (plus i feel like with the variety of voices in the game it feels more down to earth. some folks feel like they're just Being Themselves over being an actor and i love that)

im stealing my mc's design as the model for mc in this au when i draw her, but in reality she'd probably look like the 'default mc' (i just dont wanna draw her LMAO)

they definitely have the 'show cast thats been going on for a long time and now everyone's a family' type dynamic (despite only being together for a few years, they bonded extremely quickly. infold couldnt have asked for a better cast)

so! 👏

MC

mc isn't always present outside of work because she's busy with multiple acting gigs (as she is 'mc' in most if not all of the current otome games)

her initials make out 'MC' so she tends to lean into it on socials

love and deepspace has been one of the most care intensive roles she's played, and one of the more unique ones

she loves her lads family and wishes she could spend more time with them

and when she does she's always excited to hang out with them

gets teased and joke bullied a lot (because she is literally surrounded by dumb boys all day) but has a sharp rapport

bonds closely with everyone but ends up with xavier the most (im biased <3 but they DO have a lot of scenes together)

the men have a secret protection squad for her that she's completely unaware of... until xavier lets it slip by accident.

Xavier

ACTUALLY overslept the day of his audition

but has a hard time pretending to sleep in his role

is really sweet and often hangs around rafayel because they're close in age

always is available for qnas or events. this is his first role in a major project. he's only ever done background characters!

thinks the mocap scenes are silly

close with mc and rafayel, but usually sticks around mc when she's onsite.

tends to be the most actively involved on socials with rafayel, often doing lives together

gets dragged by tara and simone to events. he isn't quite a homebody but since he's not often in circles he never hangs out and about too often. but he IS introverted so having extroverted friends hype him up makes him come out of his shell more.

is soft spoken irl but attempted to put on a 'voice' for his character, but over time fell back into his lighter voice as he got more comfortable.

Zayne

his family actually has a lot of doctors in it so he asks them for notes sometimes

a bit more experienced in roles than the rest! not as much as mc or sylus though.

had a deadpan delivery for one of his character's jokes and they integrated it into his character

childhood best friends with caleb, closest to him

has an irl sweet tooth. a lot of his smaller traits did get injected into his character, much like everyone else

enjoys working with his coworkers every day. it's a highlight and he'd be the one to miss the job the most when it's over and keep in touch with everyone

highly respects mc and her skill as a seasoned actor. staunch advocate for her and tends to ward off the teasing

also good friends with sylus. if he's not with caleb they're usually hanging out

seems closed off to onlookers but is actually really sweet. he's the type to go on coffee runs or look out for people on set to make sure they don't get hurt or put in poor situations.

is 100% the type to come to set when he's not needed just to cheer on his costars and offer to treat them after they wrap for the day

Rafayel

almost 1 to 1 with his character

his first role and he is EXCELLING

dramatic but for dramatic's sake— is actually super down to earth

loves cats (why do you think his character knows so much about them?)

volunteered to adopt reddie

is nikki's (of infinity nikki fame) younger brother. it's the nepotism LMAO

loves his sister a lot and is always cheering her on. sometimes on a slow day he goes down the studio to bother her while she's working

gets along most with xavier and mc. they're like 'The Trio' and often are doing interviews together

messes up his lines often and is a #1 improviser. he's mastered the skill that even his mess ups get used sometimes (him falling off the ladder was an accident that they added in for real)

Sylus

the oldest actor. he's the most experienced next to mc and zayne

is actually wealthy irl and treats the cast and crew a lot

his favorite job by far. kinda in that 'doesn't need to work but does it anyway for fun' era of his life

more reserved but always makes time for his lads family

doesn't get to interact with mc much outside of work due to their schedules but is the first to make sure she's present for group bonding events

they talk a lot over text though! mostly drama. they are #1 tea sippers together

convinced More Nepotism by getting the directors to cast his real nephews for luke and kieran. they wear the masks all the time for privacy especially since they're teens

is actually enamored with the technology that makes mephisto. he's an imported jim henson creature they use for the filmed scenes

Caleb

big brother energy. the only one he doesn't have bbe over is sylus since he's the oldest (but is still big bro energy despite being younger than zayne)

usually hangs around zayne but bothers mc a lot

usually is the person (next to raf) that makes her mess up her lines. takes pride in breaking her and keeps score

annoying (affectionate). they couldn't have cast a better caleb

is a huge nerd irl and they just decided to integrate that into his character. more of a science nerd than a pilot nerd

huge on team bonding/bringing everyone together to hang out

big "intense role but puppydog actor"

often getting into nerd matches with xavier. they are intellectually matched when it comes to fandom

LOVES kitty cards. can be found playing with people often and narrates his moves like it's yu-gi-oh or something

teams up with rafayel to beg mc to cancel her plans to stay with them. if they combine efforts with xavier, she always folds

To add onto this:

Things we know about Angel (mind you, I haven't finished Harry's route, and I do not think I have gotten to their final visit yet)

- They know who the player, Harry, and Teo are

- They are implied to be time traveling

- They can hack into the chat, usually on a full moon.

- They block Piu-Piu from entering the chat

- They avoid answering about why they do not show up in Teo's chat

- They seem very friendly with the player (to me, it gave me the implication that their 'first' time meeting us is an nth time meeting them for us)

- They are not revealing their motives or what they're doing (they have implied to be at 'wrong times' by accident while doing whatever they're doing)

I will say, I do not believe it's Seven. I can't really find a motive, timeline, or narrative reasoning as to why Seven would do something like this.

But what I will say though: Teo and Harry are extremely important for the game's lore, ESPECIALLY Teo (as it has been stated he is the reason the app exists).

Can you explain more on who Angel is? I don't know much about Ssum.

Hello Anon!!! I'm not the most knowledgeable on Ssum either 🤔ᴴᴹ but your local Cheritz enthusiast is on the case!! Here's what I know!! ^^

Angel is not actually called Angel but 1004!! The number translates to that name in Korean, which is why we call him Angel. He is a most mysterious fellow who has, to my knowledge, only appeared twice in Harry's route, changing the chatroom's background to a series of ones and zeroes, similar to how Unknown did in the MM prologue

Angel's role in Ssum involved being able to hack somehow into the chatroom and offer the player the option to either view a good future of Harry or a bad one. In Angel's second appearance, I believe he only gave a bad future?

This is all I can gather about Angel in regards to the Ssum. In regards to Cheritz's other games though....

I've gathered that, first of all, Angel's way of speaking seems to resemble Seven's? It might be possible that Angel is Seven, considering:

The aforementioned similarities in speech

Seven's 1st appearance in MM after the prologue is a chatroom at 10:04

Hacking the app

Having a number as a name

And this is only a theory (though a very strong one) but Seven is most likely a Wizard, and Angel possesses the power to show the player the future, something that probably wouldn't be possible for a normal person

Also the fact that we already know that MM and Ssum take place within the same universe/pocket dimension

Idk if Angel is Seven idk. But it seems way too similar to not at least be a reference to Seven

The references to Angel don't stop at MM tho. The number 1004 is seen in Nameless at least once

1004. The main character's address. The rest of the address lines are references to both Cheritz and Crobidoll, which leads me to suspect that the number 8282 might also have significance somewhere else, altho idk where I'd look to find that out

Idk if there are any Angel references in Dandelion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ummmm but that's all I know. Idk if Angel is Seven, it seems quite likely, but if the person in the teaser Cheritz showed is Angel, I don't think the face looks like Seven tbh. Different face shape. Tho I kinda agree with ppl about the use of the character wearing a cloak similar to those worn by Mint Eye followers. That's an interesting addition

There may be other ppl who are a bit more qualified to answer this ask than me idk. When I'm browsing on Tumblr, I only check out the Cheritz tag and Nameless The One Thing You Must Recall tag so I only looked at The Ssum tag today to do a bit more research on this.. I've never even played Harry's route and I was playing June's but recently uninstalled the game again because, even with June, it's still god damn boring and I hate the gameplay of it

I will reblog the posts I used to research this immediately after posting this tho. But. There's this one really good post I saw where I first learned about Angel and I can't find it for the god damn life of me. I believe it's on @natsuneages blog and the title is Cheritz Boys with Red Eyes Have Powers, and @zealousfanprunewolf commented on it about Angel but I can't god damn find it guys aaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
