Was feeling blue the other day over how out of reach Berlin’s infamously hedonistic KitKat club was to me, being that I am situated all the way in the States so I decided to look up their instagram to relive the memories. To be honest, their IG feed wasn’t quite what I was looking for (probably doesn’t help that I don’t understand a schnitzel of German) but luckily their IG stories for that day/night was intriguing.

“Symbiotikka tonight” was plastered over the screen, accompanied by the typical thumping techno beats that Berlin is so known for, splashed with hazy videography that is not unlike the dungeon-esque rooms of KitKat itself. Curious, I clicked on the tag and was taken to their Symbiotikka page.

Symbiotikka is KitKat’s Wednesday techno and fetish night, which did not seem unlike their Wasteland party that I attended last October. Now I was feeling at home. I clicked on one of the videos and was instantly pulled into a dizzying “I must find this song NOW” frenzy. Luckily for me, I did not have to look far: the DJ was tagged in the caption.

Off to Soundcloud I went and luckily for me, his New Year’s set for this year at KitKat was posted at the very top. How lovely would it have been to ring in the new decade while sharing the swings above the pool with another latex-encased gal? Until that can happen again, I'll just imagine a sweltering crowd pulsate collectively to the never-ending pounding drum kicks.

THE DAILY TIP: Bergfest Mittwoch! Geh doch zur "Flauschigen Mittwochsrunde mit Freunden" ins Maze und lausche solch illustren Künstlern wie TECHNO JESUS, NUSSI, HERZ AUS GOLD, SCHICKTANZ und COITUS beim Musizieren. Kann nur gut werden. Im Tresor ist heute wieder New Faces am Start. Dabei sind Rell, Serkin, Artik und in der Aurora Bar wie immer Miss Italia. Tiefer Neid für diesen DJ Namen. Auch wenn einige Booker wohl tief enttäuscht sein werden angesichts der Brustbehaarung. Der Mittwoch bringt Demuja, Adryiano, Charlie Smooth ins Watergate. Der, im beschaulichen Salzburg lebende, Produzent Demuja war 2018 oft Gast in meiner "Plattenkiste" und ist definitiv hörenswert. Week 2.

04.03.2019

Produced the “X-10″ bodysuit in black for a customer. Then started making the prototype for the skirt I had designed. I named it “W-99″. The outcome of the first model of the skirt did not turn out very well. The range of movement when wearing the skirt was restricted due to the material it was made from. The second prototype will be done tomorrow, and this time I will use a stretch material.

05.03.2019

As the date of the event approaches, myself and two others spent the day mass producing more of the “X-10″ bodysuits, making 10 of each size, (XS, S & M). And a meeting was held about the event. It was decided to rename the event to “Techno Now Art Festival” and we will collaborate with Symbiotikka, (a part of the KitKatClub, which is a well known techno nightclub in Berlin). Held at X-Lane, a large building in Kreuzberg, (central, east Berlin). The event will take place from the 29th March until 31st March.

Started designing and producing biker shorts, as well as worked on new ideas and designs. I also worked on the kimono which will likely appear in the new collection. I had to leave the studio early as I had my appointment with the Bürgeramt to complete something called “Anmeldung” which is something very important and must be done when moving to Germany.

Completed the second prototype of my skirt, and wrote down all measurements, created the pattern pieces for the skirt as well as grading the pattern pieces and measurements for the other sizes the skirt will be made in.

WOMEN’S DAY!

Today was a bank holiday for the whole of Berlin as it was Women’s Day. This is the first time in history that women’s day will be made an official public bank holiday for Berlin.

THE DLY BLN Die heutigen Tipps beginnen mit dem Kollektiv Herz&Leber. Die machen nämlich Party im Crack Bellmer und lassen Seleeâ und Drea Lunt an die Decks. Die Truppe hat mir bewiesen das auch das ganze Ambient/Atmosphärisch/Techhouse Ding eine krasse Stimmung hervorrufen kann. Mit ihren Open Airs im Mauerpark an der Walpurgisnacht (auf das ich mich dieses Jahr ziemlich gefreut hatte....) beflügelten sie den Frühlingsbeginn und hatten dann vor 1-2 Jahren auch ihren ersten Truck beim Karneval der Kulturen. Sie sind schon längst keine unbekannte Sache mehr, was auch an der großen Varietät der einzelnen Interpreten des Kollektivs liegt. Nun heute Abend also im Bellmer und das für umsonst, Bar ab 8 - Abflug ab 10 +++ Im Void tut sich auch was. Heute gibts die Wednesday Techno Veranstaltung. Als spontanes Ding zur Ferienzeit gekennzeichnet kann man mal beobachten ob sich da nicht ne neue Reihe anschleicht. Ferien sind bei der Zahl an Leuten die morgens nach dem Feiern direkt zur Arbeit starten eh überbewertet. Vllt. Wird ja was draus. Heute jedenfalls spielt Modulatos, SHVLFCE und mehr.
