Despite spending half of most nights pacing, he always wakes you up at exactly 5 AM to work out. It does not occur to him that you might not want this.

He tends to stroke your hair or rub your back. You realize this is because Emmett the cat is the only thing he’s given affection for at least five years.

He informs you unprompted that he would still love you if you were a worm. You ask if he would still love you if you were a ghoul. He has to think about it.

There’s usually a settlement on fire somewhere, but occasionally you have to come up with problems for him to solve. If he doesn’t feel useful he gets sad.

He tries very hard to be nice to your friends. Hancock tries very hard to make him fail.

You tell him he doesn’t have to feel responsible for Shaun. He agrees, for the time being. He will listen to Shaun talk about anything. For hours.

You catch him white-knuckling the bathroom sink and staring into the mirror. That sink hasn’t worked in 200 years. Why is he doing that.

in light of Fallout being popular again, this is a list of things I wish Bathesda had done in Fallout 4:

made a way to side against the railroad without having to kill Deacon. Even if you send him to the most distant settlement, he still spawns in the RR HQ and you MUST shoot him. I don’t like it :(

have the option to remove Danse from power armour after saving him from the BoS. It doesn’t make sense that he’s an enemy of the BoS and still walks around in their power armour. Especially since the armour he wears until Blind Betrayal becomes yours if you side with the Brotherhood. It’s physically impossible for you to own it while he’s wearing it.

on that note, I wish Bathesda had written Danse’s dialogue differently once he’s revealed as a synth. He’s still calling himself a solder of the BoS/acting like he’s a part of the BoS months after the BoS kicked him out and literally said they’d kill him on sight. It doesn’t make sense for him to keep speaking that way. I know he sees himself as a solder, but the things he says counteracts everything you do in Blind Betrayal

adding more to that, I wish some of Danse’s romance dialogue was…nicer. Spamming “Thoughts?” only gives you TWO romance lines and they’re both very vague. Nick says nicer things to me and he isn’t even a romance option

i wish you could REPAIR NICKS FACE??? Like Nick has the same face as the Gen 1’s, and you kill plenty of them. How hard would it be to remove a Gen 1 face and give it to Nick so that he isn’t falling apart. You’re telling me that DiMA looks absolutely fine and Nick has to stay looking like someone threw him into a shredder? Bullshit.

-Nat : He is cute, funny, obedient and above all he is ten times smarter than Pete.

-Shaun : When I am sad, and Mom is not there. I always pet Dogmeat. He has a very soft fur, he calms me down.

-Duncan : My dad always wanted to have a puppy like Dogmeat. He says he can't call the stork, so he can bring little dogs.

-Nat : Codsworth is super nice to me and takes very good care of my two little friends, although sometimes he can be very pain with security.

-Shaun : He knew me when I was a baby, I know I don't have much of a memory with him, but my mom always told me, how well Codsworth took care of her.

-Duncan : I've never met a Mister Handy, up close. He's so round and has three eyes. Is he a robot mutant?

-Nat : If he is the leader of the minutemen, why does he always send Piper and Blue to do his job. can't he do it himself?

-Shaun : I don't know him very well, I'm usually always with Strurger, And help him fix Mom's car. Which has been sitting idle for two hundred and ten years.

-Duncan : My dad told me, when I grow up a little more. He'll give me a hat. Just like Mr. Preston.

-Duncan : His face is scary, but he is super nice to me. He always tells me his adventure stories. He laughed when I asked him, though, if it's true that he drinks motor oil.

-Nat : How can it be, that a cool guy as Hancock, I have a brother as Different and Didactic. as the former mayor McDonugh.

-Shaun : Once, I asked him how it felt to be a Ghoul, out of curiosity. And even though mom scolded me afterwards for asking that question. Hancokc answered me that he looks much more handsome as a Ghoul.

-Duncan : Although my dad told me not to be afraid. This guy scares me a lot ( he has a trauma with Ghoul ).

-Duncan : Both here and in my aunt Red's town. He says my dad is a hero, although sometimes he is very stubborn and grumpy.

-Nat : My sister resents Cait's attitude. But I love her attitude.

-Shaun : One time, Myrna messed with me, for being a Synth. And Cait defended me, he told her that if she messes with me again he'll shove his bat up her Ass.

-Nat : I hate this guy. I find him to be a very hypocritical man and a pain in the ass to many of his teammates. Especially Nick and Hancock.

-Shaun : I had heard horrible stories about the Brotherhood steel from Madison Li. But I see him as a nice guy. Although I see him getting a little grumpy with some of my mother's friends.

-Duncan : He is very mean to Dad. My dad tells me that he is like that, because he was raised in a family of pigs.

Hello folks have some more fallout art I never thought I would finish because GOD there was so much detail (I blame myself as a DiMA fan he took up 90% of my time on this thing but I wanted him to be involved)

Hancock was gonna have a flag around him but I respect my health enough not to push my boundaries and add so much detail I wanna die (same goes for why DiMA’s pipes are so bland looking I wasn’t about to give myself a hand cramp over it)

Deacon is an incredible interesting partner

He’s still incredibly secretive about his life which can be rather frustrating at times

You’ve learned to pick up on his body language, even if he tries his best to hide his subtle movements

You notice how his lip twitches when he’s frustrated, and how his smile seems more strained when he’s mad

Deacon keeps his cool but definitely needs his own space

He loves his partner a lot but he is very hesitant to give affection, and even more so to receive it

He dislikes PDA, it makes him feel more vulnerable than he needs to be, like he’d put his partner and his son in danger

Deacon shows how much he loves his partner by simply listening to him. He takes in all the information he’s given and keeps it for later

If he’s told his partner wanted a certain kind of jacket? He will look for it until he finds it

He remembers everything about his partner and his son

Deacon is much more of an acts of service and words of affirmation kind of guy

And when it’s just the two of them he can’t stop raving about his partner

It’s teasing in a way but it’s genuine

Deacon is incredibly nervous around synth Shaun. It’s like a reminder of what he could have had but he tries not to think about that

He loves Shaun but he keeps his distance. He doesn’t want him to be targeted

But despite the distance he pays attention to the things Shaun does as well

Getting him prewar electronics he finds for Shaun to tinker with

Deacon knows he can’t be the parent he really wants to be to Shaun and it eats at him

He’s anxious for the kid but at least he knows he’s safe in sanctuary so he feels more comfortable with the whole dad thing there

He really leans into dad jokes to Shaun’s dismay

Either way he’s happy to have a family. In his mind he didn’t need or deserve a second chance, but he’s thankful he got one

And yet he still feels incredibly guilty about it
