So, what do you want to talk about?

Well I recently remade a character for my novel, system failure, his name is Julien Genet!

He's a Terlun, a species of human descendents evolved somewhat artificially to live at high altitudes on cliffs and mountains of a fairly cold planet with a fairly thin atmosphere. They have larger lungs, more effective hemoglobin, and are generally smaller than the modern day human— alongside having darker skin for more UV resistance, and (originally genetically modified) tails, ears and feet.

Terlun come from a former human colony world that cut contact a Very, Very long time ago, and was considered lost. They, and the other species from their planet, no longer remember humanity or their origins due to the decision to start over completely, and they haven't yet achieved interstellar travel by the time Julien Genet is born. They have short range travel, but are generally fairly decentralized, but the interstellar age has evaded them.

Julien Genet is a Terlun doctor incapable of dying. System failure is a mix of scifi and fantasy, there's some Bullshit Science magic and there's some just magic magic and some other BS science because I might as well have fun with it. And Julien Genet has the Bullshit Magic power of healing to a degree of insanity. He cannot die, he can heal other people, etc. but to do so, he puts himself in EXCRUCIATING physical pain, even when healing others.

When he's 15, he drowns for three months and washes up at an illegal fishery, finds an ancient, human era robot named 3th3L and accidentally kick-starts the interstellar age.

Modify the GRUB configuration on your installed Ubuntu system:

Mount Installed Ubuntu Partition:

Edit GRUB Configuration:

Now you can edit the GRUB configuration file:

Add the following to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT:

It should read like:

Power off the dGPU

sudo nano /etc/grub.d/10_linux

Add the following to the line above the line containing “gzio”:

It's really hard to think of what my characters would be doing with social media because I've set them in times specifically to avoid it— let's see.

My DND characters have only ever used Facebook. Except azareth, who is both Tumblr and vine famous independently and refuses to use any social media except those two.

Olu would be regular famous but also be notorious for getting into drama on Twitter. She has every social media and you can't avoid her or her insatiable violence for drama.

Ethel has used twitch and GitHub. That's it. It hates Twitter with a passion and Tumblr gives it a migraine.

Lucyfr morgenstern thinks Instagram is the scum of the earth but uses Facebook because he has pta meetings to schedule goddamnit.

Julien Genet is on TikTok. This is unfortunate for everyone but he will sometimes quote them and it makes his patients explode. He hates Twitter though.

Arthur doesn't celebrate his birthday because he's too busy to do it, other people celebrate it for him.

Cy doesn't have a birthday, it's always existed and never existed and it's birthday is always and never.

Azareth has a fake birthday.

Calinox (goddamn my DND characters have names starting with TWO letters) doesn't celebrate his birthday because he's. Incredibly lonely.

Sysf characters don't have birthdays either, except Julien Genet who is VERY excited to celebrate his birthday. Olu celebrates her host's birthday once a century when she remembers to be an asshole to the remnant of that host that she still keeps alive.
