there is nothing olivie blake could possibly ever write that’s funnier than callum nova being the only one in the cohort who is adamantly and unequivocally not interested in atlas’ sinister plan to destroy the entire universe

//SPOILERS FOR #TAC//
Guys, I'm pretty sure OlivieBlake is giving us an out here re: #NovaCaine ...
.
.
.
.
.
Tristan fixes up Callum before *the* scene ends. Then, later on, we get this quote❗️
Tumblr media
I am choosing to believe that Tristan saved Callum with his world-altering powers.
Editing to add: I feel like the fact that Tristan seemed so chipper after when he went into face James Wessex says something, right?
"...waltzing through the security checkpoint and flipping off the guard as he went."
"...whistling to himself as the lift rose..."
"...with a smile he had not possessed during his time of employment..."
And, the chapter ends with this carefree sentence:
"Then he walked leisurely out of the office, whistling as he went."
This is a man for whom something has finally gone right. Go on, tell me I'm wrong😁
#They live happily ever after. The end.

So cosa state pensando: non è possibile, a tutto c'è un limite.
Lo penso anch'io. Ma è successo.
Me ne sono accorto nel bel mezzo dell'accettazione. Ho imprecato. Ho detto, senza alcun freno inibitorio: "Occavolo, ho lasciato tutto alla fermata, non ci credo, faccio schifo". Ovviamente l'impiegato è rimasto a bocca aperta.
Corsa a perdifiato. Sono arrivato alla fermata. La mia borsa c'era. Nessuno l'aveva rubata.
Per fortuna acquisto solo borse brutte.
Ho raggiunto in tutta fretta la sala dell'accettazione, convinto che fosse troppo tardi.
Cosa mi ha salvato? L'inefficienza dell'ospedale. Quel giorno era tutto in ritardo. E proprio per questo ero ancora in tempo. Persone che dovevano fare esami un'ora prima di me stavano ancora attendendo. E così ho fatto l'esame e sono tornato a casa sano e salvo.

An Interview with a Vampire 7/?
Nickie asks, "Given your unique requirements and potential differences from humans, can you explain how you’ve been able to hide for so long?"
Jure laughed, "Oh, I must admit, I'm not one to blend in seamlessly with the crowd… But my smug charm and unparalleled confidence will inspire and motivate humans to continually look away… and if that doesn’t work, the I am sure that Bliss will. They would marvel at my abilities while striving to match my effortless excellence."
Nickie circled back to his favorite topic, "Bliss, you’ve mentioned it as your magnum opus. What is it?"
He beams with pride, “That is my precious creation, one that should be hitting the streets soon and then it will be quite easy to find a snack. Perhaps as easy as stepping outside and picking one up, like one would pick up a treat at a vending machine.”
Last question, "In your phone call, you mentioned a warning. What was your warning?"
Jure nods, "Oh, yes... you must have thought it was about Bliss...no my dear. I came to warn you. She’s coming and with her will come many things… none of them are friendly, my sweet chocolate tart.” He smiles, “If you want to survive this madness, you will need to be at your best. You must continue your work. Keep humans aware…”
" Why would you want that? You seem to want us to be cattle?", she replies clearly confused.
Jure looked at her as if she were a naive thing, “For two reasons… Humans have a greater capacity for being amazing now than you did even a hundred years ago. I find that marvelously intriguing. The second is that if none of you survive, there will be no food left for me. So perhaps it’s a bit selfish, but you cannot deny that I deserve to eat."
Nickie frowned, “I don’t know if you deserve to eat humans… speaking from a human perspective. I quite like living and you feed on human blood exclusively do you not?”
Jure smirked, “Sadly I do require human blood, but it does not make me a monster. I have never killed anyone that did not deserve the killing. I take from willing participants, and I never take too much.”
She frowned, “But you can’t say the same for your kin?”
He smiled an eerie toothy grin; she could see his fangs. “Exactly, you understand. Are we concluding then?”
Nickie looked over at Nick and shrugged, “I think for now yes, you’ve given me a lot to think about Mr. Vulpe. Perhaps I can have you back again sometime to ask more questions?”
Jure looked delighted, “Do you think I did better than Brad Pitt?”
Nickie shrugged, “I’m not sure. I never watched that movie.”

Archeological Dig Makes Groundbreaking Find!
"It's simply extraordinary. Just wonderful, to think of the history attached to it, and that we're the first to see it in such a long time," says Dr Odernort.
Just earlier this week, the team led by the internationally eminent expert in early post-War cultures made known their crucial discovery.
One of the earliest depictions of Augustus Gaius Martis, better known as Tacitus during his father's rule from 170 Post-War to 204 PW, this fresco was found in what we assume to be the original Temple of Flagstaff, the name of the Legion capital during that culture group's early expansion phase. From the elements present here, it is probable that this depicts a call to war, or imploring the manifestation of Mars, their god incarnated through his descendants, to bring down the double-headed bear - itself a symbol of another culture of that age, the New California Republic. The conflict depicted must be the Battles of the Hoover Dam, circa the year 203 PW. Incredible, to think that this religious œuvre survived so long.
The materials have been locally sourced. The building itself of the Temple was Pre-War, and earlier archeological digs have shown it used to be a museum. Paint might have been reused, but early isotope tests have shown most of it was made during that time. It is safe to consider that the paint itself was especially made for this fresco, and the others that adorned the Temple.
Dr Odernort and local art historians have noticed the symbolism here close to that of a type of pre-War religious art, such as a winged figure called Michael, spearing a creature known as a "demon". This raises the question as to how much the elites of Legion knew of pre-War cultures, or if that was knowledge lost very early on. Did Legion people consider their Caesar to be a protector? How much of pre-War thought was incorporated into their culture and religion? Without similar pieces to compare it to, we can only speculate today. Hopefully, says Dr Odernort, "we will discover much more from that age in the local ruins. So little is known about Tacitus as a person, rather than the reforms he spearheaded." And, perhaps, we will understand more from that period of time in early Four-States and Vegasian cultures.
