FINALLY THE MATCH STARTS/AND ITS KAGEYAMA SERVING/Commentators remarking on the randomness of this new player who has no major league data, has history with an opposing player as his teammate and was also a significant player in the high school league... just catch me going ohohohohoho y’all gonna be surprised the nerve of you fools thinking Hinata came back without knowing how to receive Kageyama’s serve!!

and you look at the court configuration and think for a hot second that “oh Hinata isn’t across from Kags, guess we won’t see him receive it”/but then you realise wait I sec I am doing disrespect to both Kags and Hinata and also in what universe would Kags NOT take the opportunity to test Hinata after two years apart AND HE’S THE ONE SERVING FIRST

SO OF COURSE HE SERVES TO HIS BOI BC HE KNOWS THAT THE BOI IS GONNA DO SOMETHING CRAZY AND ALSO HE WANTS TO OFFER HIM THE PERFECT WELCOME BACK

and then Hinata took the opportunity and Atsumu set it up perfectly/our boi friggen FLEW YALL DID YA SEE THE HEIGHT ON THAT LAUNCH HE WAS FULLY ABOVE NET WTF

and hits wicked cross to the back corner and lands with a huge thump

and he’s on home turf with all his friends hanging out watching his debut in the stands and he yells “TADAIMAAAAA” and he gets an “OKAIRIIIIIII” back y’all I’m emotional

And in true Kags fashion... he tells him he took too damn long to return... but what an entrance goddamn...

This was a *chefs kiss* perfect start...

and yknow the match is not gonna be as one sided as this one act was... half of this moment was Kageyama testing Hinata/just proving his expectations that Hinata absolutely did not slack off in their time apart... the other half was equal parts a direct challenge as if to “restart” their rivalry officially, as well as a nice welcome back so everyone in the stands who don’t know Hinata can get well acquainted with his brand of crazy, and everyone who DOES, can get well acquainted his NEW brand of crazy... and it just evokes all the nice jittery feels ya know?
