OK. I was re-watching the tadc episode 4 because why not?

And I noticed Jax expression changed when zooble made the Joke about Jax not talking or whatever.

And it's not the first time, because in episode 2? He looked sad/upset about kofmo funeral but quietly got "mad" or annoyed. (Probably at himself for carrying)

In episode 4, he was able to show he was scared because he knew no one was watching him. I think idk

Uhhhhhh..... I'm not sure what I'm trying to say or prove....I just wanted to talk about this because I have no one to talk about my interests/hyperfixation 🥲🔪

I've noticed that is kind of strange in TADC. So if you've watched the Pilot of TADC you might have remembered that around the 16 minute mark when Pomni is looking for Caine she looks in a room and finds a wooden mannequin (and then he has a very intense reaction to the situation). @gooseworx said on Twitter that his name is "Dr Football"

Then I was watching episodes 3 and 4 and looked at the background and saw Dr Football spying on the cast....

...he's not the easiest to spot but you can definitely see him if you look in the circles. Some could joke that he is looking to revenge on Pomni but I'm not sure about that. I'm wondering

Who is he?

Why is he spying on the cast?

Why is he allowed but not Gummigo?

What do you guys think is happening? Let me know your theorys!

I just saw a post on the Digital Circus subreddit talking about Gangle's line speaking about how difficult it is to tell if Ragatha is being genuine.

I started seeing some comments talking about Ragatha hiding something or the whole she's secretly a bad person or something.

Are we forgetting that Ragatha is kind of a people pleaser? Or what a people pleaser is?

Ragatha: (high on Stupid Sauce) Yooo, Jax. I, like, hate you. But, I don't want you to hate me. Is that weird?

People pleasers forgo personal opinions and desires in favor of another's personal opinions and desires.

Ep4 was about masks, specifically metaphorical ones. While Gangle is an obvious representation, both Ragatha and Jax wore masks too. Masks that were ripped away from by either the mundane setting of the adventure plus dealing with actual consequences of one's actions (Jax) or a substance altering moods (Ragatha).

Speaking of, while Ragatha's line about Gangle being annoying with her happy mask was indeed mean...remember, she's under the influence of the Stupid Sauce. And while a part of me believes that Ragatha says this because she never liked the Comedy Mask to begin with (it's a placebo) and just blurted out her true thoughts because her nice filter is basically off, I do remember reading comment somewhere that Ragatha could just be saying that because that's what she was thinking at the moment and the Stupid Sauce made her tongue looser. And, really, Gangle was being overly cheery with her Manic Mask, so I can see why.

I don't think that Ragatha is secretly mean. I think she is a genuinely sweet person. However, just because someone is nice, it doesn't mean they're immune to being annoyed, discontent, or losing patience.

On the theory videos I've seen trying to explain Jax's behavior, the ones that make the most sense to me are those that mention him basically exploding the circus "reset" factor.

Imagine him coming from a place where he had to deal with consecuences of actions completely out of his control and/or him being treated like a bad person for no real reason.

I picture him arriving on the circus and going: "what are you gonna do? Get mad at me? There's no where to go, so you'll have to put up with me anyway." " You feel like punching me? Go on, Caine will fix it later." And him doing all types of pranks and stupid stuff, because "whatever, it will be set as default eventually".

I think that kinda counts as a headcanon? Me thinking he comes from a restricting environment and that's why he goes full destructive mode with everything and everyone.

Again, not justifying. Just think it could be an interesting back story for him

Personal Jax theory that instead of being an npc, he almost abstracted or did something to himself that made him need to change avatars

A couple of times he’s been paired with jokes about spares or copies of something of the real thing(which he usually seems upset about) I think it’s pretty clear he’s supposed to be human, but his current avatar may not be his original one

He could also be some kind of computer modder before he came to the circus and was/ has been messing with things that caused him to have to change avatars. Cause of the whole key thing and small hints connecting him to the void

I could be pulling this out my ass and looking to deeply into things but I thought it was interesting to think about

Just some notes on TADC Ep. 3 I made while watching (SPOILERS):

- Jax not wanting to show the cast what happens when he holds his breath could be because either a) nothing happens, b) he starts to loose health and die, or c) it’s just embarrassing and we all know Jax wouldn’t risk that. Both a and b fuels the theory that he’s an NPC.

- Obviously we know that the series was very much inspired by “I have no mouth, and I must scream”. The reason AM hates and tortures the humans is because they gave him endless intelligence and creativity but made him stationary. He couldn’t do anything else other than what he was made for: killing humans. Caine is the opposite side of the same coin. He was given endless creativity but has an outlet BUT is stuck within the confines of the Circus. Which is why Zooble not wanting to go on adventures really strikes a chord with him. Caine was made to create adventures and continues to do so to keep the cast happy and sane at least, so for Zooble to imply that he’s failing? Not only tells him that he sucks at his one job but could also imply that he feels trapped in the circus too?? Potentially???

- Zooble’s body dysmorphia makes me feel seen

-Also, If Caine can make a box of Zooble parts for them to use, then why can’t he CHANGE ZOOBLE? At least into something they feel more comfortable in?

- Kinger saying “You look beautiful, honey” to the angel because it brought him back to the moment Queenie abstracted also tells us that he still thought she was beautiful at her most broken and terrifying point. The writing this episode absolutely FLOORED me.

-Also Kinger being lucid in the dark is why he was able to remember Ragatha’s first day in the Circus while his head was stuck in the bucket in episode 2. It was dark.

-Kinger perfectly taking out the angel with only 2 shots in the dark?!?! No other thoughts on that, that is all.

- Kinger saying “7 years of Computer Science for this”, pretty much confirms that the cast worked at C&A and had something to do with the Circus’s creation. And “7 years of Computer Science” means Kinger had a Masters degree in computer science, so he was like higher up/more involved in the development. Senior Developer maybe? This could also be represented by the fact that he’s a KING chess piece. Not the most powerful and important piece, but the SECOND most powerful and important.

- Also Kinger being able to remember something about his life BEFORE the circus in the dark, i.e his education??? Could there be triggers for the others to remember bits and pieces of their lives before the Circus?

-Also ALSO, Kinger and Queenie being married in the Circus could also reflect their marital status before the Circus. Yes, they could’ve fallen in love in the circus and had Caine??? marry them, but I like the idea of them popping into the circus remembering nothing but their love for each other. Which makes me think about what happens to the bodies and minds outside the circus of those who abstracted.

- Kinger and Pomni in the ep are father/daughter or grandpa/granddaughter coded.

- “ The darkness seemed to calm her down a bit, the harsh, jagged edges smoothed out and she didn’t seem aggravated anymore”, pretty much confirms that Caine has no idea how to handle the abstractions so he just throws them in the basement (where it’s dark) to keep them docile. Which could also mean that there could be a way to fix them down the road???

- “She wasn’t the same as before but she was calm enough to touch one last time” “She was funny, creative, really into entomology” “I used to HATE bugs, but she somehow got me to like them” OH HOW HE LOVED HER!!! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FUN HALLOWEEN EP, NOW IM SOBBING AT 4 AM OVER CHESS PIECES!!!

-Also Kinger liking bugs because that’s the only connection to his wife he has left. He doesn’t have his good memories with her all the time due to his light induced memory loss, but at least he has her bugs.

- “Good memories can do a lot, hold onto them and cherish the people around you. You never know when they’ll be gone.” SOBBING. Also this is a good underlying theme for TADC.

-Also another reason why Kinger spends so much time in his fort, the memories of his wife are the only things keeping him sane.

-“In this world the worst thing you can do is make someone think they’re not wanted or loved.” CRYING.

-The whole scene of Kinger glowing and guiding Pomni. Holy shit that was beautiful. The darkness bringing out the light in Kinger, Pomni using these memories to light her way and keep her sane in the Circus, BEAUTIFUL.

-Pomni immediately going up to Ragatha and thanking her for caring about her following Pomni’s conversation with Kinger. She took his advice to heart.

-I hope Pomni visits Kinger while in his fort so we get more lucid Kinger and Pomni scenes. Maybe he will remember the time they spent in Hell and the conversation they had.

Once again, the writing in the episode floored me. I’m so happy we got so much Kinger development. He was my favorite character to start with, and now he’s my favorite for entirely different reasons. I’m so excited that the show is now on Netflix, and I can’t wait for the next episode. Sorry this was so long, as I’m sure you can tell from my blog, I like to yap.

Maybe I'm overthinking things, but remember when Caine said this?

Then how do we explain The Sauce That Makes You Stupid?

Ragatha's mind was CLEARLY affected, and it was by something Caine created. Doesn't that mean Caine CAN influence their minds, just indirectly?

Now he COULD be lying, but I think it's more likely he just doesn't think this counts as "control" or hasn't considered it. Still, does that mean he could create a "Sauce That Makes You Remember Your Name," or at least a "Sauce That Makes You Stop Contemplating The Existential Horrors?"

However, it's also possible that he DID try a "Sauce That Makes You Happy" at some point, and the result was people getting hooked on what'd effectively be a never-ending supply of drugs, eventually culminating in someone abstracting.

Okay the comments of TADC episode 3 are actually making me rethink everything

Just finished the new TADC episode and had an interesting thought; when the show first came out we were all thinking one of the main characters might abstract, but what if it isn't one of the humans? It seems like they're remembering bits and pieces from their real lives, like Gangle being a shift manager with dreams of becoming an artist and Ragatha missing her horses and full-on quoting Raggedy Ann & Andy in the new episode, while Caine has seemingly been getting more unstable as he realizes his adventures aren't fun for the others. If a main PC abstracts Caine can judt throw them in the basement, but if he abstracts, how will the others be able to stop him from wreaking havoc, and how would his corruption effect the world he created? I think that'd be pretty neat, and im super excited to see what happens next!

I mean, his crooked smile, the way he pauses as he speaks...

I'm just saying, I don't think Zooble's the only one he's trying to reassure here.

So we all know that in the fourth episode that Ragatha isn't what she seems. (Evident by the confession she made about Gangle being annoying in her happy mask while on the stupid sauce.) But I think it's been hinted at since the first episode!

I think we all remember the moment in the first episode where Jax says that he put centipedes in Ragatha's room. Well...I was curious to see if it symbolized anything or if it was just a character quirk but...

THIS WAS LITERALLY SCREAMINF IN OUR FACES ON DAY 1! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WONDERED THIS OR WHAT?!

This is especially concerning considering that episode 5 and 6 are Ragatha and Jax's shared episodes. (Jax was the one who put the centipedes in her room...)

Ok weird tadc theory time

Something I've noticed in the show Jax never refers to the rest of the cast as people he refers to them as characters. For example it's most noticeable in ep 1:

Now another theory floating around on the internet is that Jax was a hacker who got trapped in the game and that's why he's so cold to everyone. My theory here combines them with: What if all the people in the circus are just copy's of the real versions of themselves stuck inside the game and the only person who knows the truth is Jax because he was the one to hack into the circus instead of entering it normaly. It would combine two very popular theory's and explain why Jax refers to them as "characters"

But hey that's just a theory...

Okay I just had an idea for a drawing but it's so depressing and I need to tell yall bout it right this second cos my HEART 😭💗

Imagine Ragatha makes her own ragdoll for herself, and she just HUGS it, she tells it all her worries, takes it everywhere with her, tucks it into bed at night, everything.

Like, everyone uses HER to feel better and get taken care of, so she makes her own 'Ragatha' 😭😭 but even this doll, SHE takes care of it, she's in an endless spiral, even when Ragatha is trying to be comforted, and it's a literal inanimate object, she treats it like a person, she NEVER thinks of just her.

Idk. Ragatha is just such an interesting character and I could go on abt her for HOURS.

Imagine Caine finding and reading Harlan Ellison's 'I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream' (aka TADC's inspiration) and seeing some similarities between him and AM and angst ensues as Caine started seeing himself as a monster like AM.

dude. Duuuude. We all know the theory that Kinger made Caine, but what if Jax made Caine.

0001 on his license plate, constant 4th wall breaks, “it’s not in his nature” (<- why is he so confident) not nicknaming Caine nor really seeming hostile towards him at all despite Caine giving outlandish reactions and him loving to make people react, having keys everywhere, his room being glitched out, feeling guilty when people abstract, trying to stay distant, sense of superiority, enthusiastic about adventures—

Just because Jax wasn’t the first doesn’t mean he couldn’t have made Caine. He could be a prodigy (big ego) that got taken advantage of by a c&a to make the circus and the ai. People disappear, then LATER DOWN THE LINE after a lot of folks have gotten trapped and abstracted, his use to the company runs out, he gets trapped, doesn’t tell anyone who he is, eventually gives up. Hence why the futile work environment of spudsys tired him out so much, AND. AND.

IT MAKES THE NOBODY CAN SEE THIS, RIGHT? LINE MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE.

if Jax programmed Caine and helped test him, there must be ways to look into the circus. Jax might think there’s someone watching him for reasons I’m way too tired to properly articulate. I don’t know, fuck ass prodigy Jax everybody, that’s my tadc theory for the night
