A snake story, based on an experience I had while I was in Florida.

my 8 year old has some emotional regulation difficulties, and I've done my best to help him with those.

unrelated, I gave him a shovel a couple of days ago and told him to go have fun in the field because I was tired.

He suddenly seemed happier, having less trouble breathing through disappointment and just being generally all around more cheerful and able to focus in school better. Sure, my partner had to pull him out of a six foot by three foot hole today, but he was stoked about it!

Prompt: create a horror movie concept about the discovery of a location with all the hallmarks of "This is not a place of honor". Humans being humans, the discoverers proceed to ignore the warning to their own doom even though one of them actually recognizes the warning for what it is.

Still can't get over the fact that Toby Fox dreamed up a game ending, but he decided he wanted to make something a little less ambitious first, so instead he made the most influential indie game of all time

Finally reading Sharpe's Command and I'm finding some of the narrative choices... perplexing. Did Bernard Cornwell's editor take eighteen months off? "It was twilight now, the half-dark half-light prelude to night." Bernard. Bernard my editor would send the authorities To My House

I've never understood what taking the lords name in vain means more than when I started looking into the ramblings of false prophets. There's just something so sick and offputting about listening to someone proclaim unbiblical nonsense based on political affiliation or cold reading tier guesswork and then proclaim it all in the name of Jesus so they can collect money from gullible idiots.

Then I think about how mad I get when people try to put words in my mouth and start claiming I said things I never said...and now imagine those words being put in your mouth are being used to con money out of your family and loved ones in your name. Imagine your kids racing to destruction under your banner because someone told them you said things you didn't.

It's a lot bigger of a deal than just muttering Jesus under your breath when something shocks you.
