A little bit of reflection on Varian's part...

The poor lad thought he left the vengeful, emotionally charged boy behind in Corona when he redeemed himself. But when Andrew reared his ugly head again and threatened his friends, Varian began to slip back into that angry part of himself that he thought he'd moved past. The captions are him reflecting on the events of that day after the gang has gotten away from Andrew and his antics. And especially when he never wanted to slip back into that version of himself, he feels especially bad for doing so and scaring his friends...

I promise I'll do a proper introduction to the wolf girl soon! Instagram and Discord have seen her, so I'll introduce her properly soon enough!!

Also, I'm SUPER proud of the shading on these drawings. Varian's staff is probably my absolute favorite metallic thing I've ever shaded, and I'm SO proud of the atmosphere on the flashback to Secret of the Sundrop. I drew the entire background, and I love how the shading on Varian turned out, too. Overall, these are some of my favorite scenes I've drawn, outside of another group of 3 that I'll share soon, once I've introduced Grace properly!

This took me 6 hours and 50 something minutes I DO NOT GAF IF ITS NOT HALLOWEEN YET IM SO TIREDD MY BACK IS LITERALLY🦐 I AM NOT WAITING ANOTHER DAY TO POST THIS

so i was originally gonna make hugo a Frankenstein so he could match with varian as a mad scientist, but then i thought they dont have to match ALL the time, so i made him a vampire i feel like that fits him the most since he has that sassiness, varian as a mad scientist, no explanation needed, yong as a LITTLE DEMON IMP AWWWEE LOOK AT

So..... this scene took a long time to render LOL

Initially, it was just Don, Hugo, and Grace in this scene, but then chaos ensued and Nuru, Yong, and Cyrus were added xD

Yes, Donella is still cursed to never go through that portal. And yes, Hugo is literally pushing her through it. Or, into it, rather. You can see her body getting little glowy sparklies all over it...? Yeah, that's the portal literally Thanos snapping her. But prettier!

Hugo is... running very much on pure, raw emotional pain and rage at this moment. Donella not only abandoned him at the orphanage, which was the source of a ton of his trauma, but also never bothered to tell him who she was when he found her again, only treating him like one of her disposable lackeys.

So yeah, he's pissed.

Poor Yong is so clueless to what's going on, he's too focused on blasting fireworks in Cyrus' face LOL

Just wanna share my thought process on the current set of visuals I made for the vat7k soundtrack headcanons cuz I had lots of fun composing the illustrations for each member!

So when I said "Live Again" is like Varian's version of "Wind In My Hair" well I had every intention to match the visual to that motif. So his pose in this visual pays homage to his most triumphant moment back in "Make You Proud" except instead of facing to the left (aka towards Corona), he is facing to the right to signify wanting to go out there beyond Corona.

And the setting is in the exact place Rapunzel made the decision to go over the walls of Corona from the pilot special (and yes he is standing in the exact wall she did to hammer home the parallels).

I made sure every single one of them are looking up towards the sky, a subtle way to unify them as a set. Something something "we are from different walks of life but we look up at the same sky" something if you will

I noticed how Yong, Nuru and Varian's current songs are "I Want" songs—while only Hugo's song is a turning point song number.... cuz he doesn't know what he really wants at the beginning and his song is him finally asking questions and reflecting with himself

And I also imagined the "I Want" songs for the three were sang prior to meeting each other while Hugo's is after he meets and spends time with them—because prior to team radical, Hugo wouldn't be looking up the same way they do otherwise but in this case, he does cuz he met really kind people like them and starts to slowly see glimpses of what they see too

I just thought that was pretty neat, but anyway! that's my yap, thank you for comin to my ted talk <3
