Who Doesn't Love Maple Syrup
It’s That Time of Year Again
This post is an excerpt from several posts on my old blog, countrygirllifeonthefarm, but it’s the right time of year to show up again.
If you have a maple tree in your back yard you can make your own maple syrup just like we do (in a condensed version)! It takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup or 20 gallons makes two quarts. You could cook it off on…

Shoutout to those whose burnout never felt like a controlled bush fire, but felt as a forest fire consuming everything in its path. To those whose burnout didn't blossom into new life on the forest floors, but whose burnout has only left charred bark and silence in its wake. There's nothing wrong with you. Burnout can feel like a wound sometimes, a secret you keep to yourself out of shame. Your forest is not ruined. The fire wasn't your fault. If something will start to blossom in that forest, it will take time. It will be small. But it will be life.

I'm starting to get a little better with shading and highlighting my artwork. It has been a long while since I've drawn anything.

Really appreciated y’all’s feedback on my last redraw. I totally agree that the first one (2021), while lacking in many areas, had MUCH superior vibes of intimacy and general composition.
I’ve been marinating in an art funk (the bad type) but redraws come easy enough and I survived many hideously long air and trains rides last week to put more attention into this guy.
Check out the first redraw and I’d love to hear some feedback/key smashing tags/comments!
