Kanji vada is indeed a delightful and traditional Rajasthani dish, known for its unique combination of tangy mustard-flavored liquid and crispy moong dal vadas. The preparation process involves soaking the moong dal overnight and then grinding it into a paste to make vadas, which are then deep-fried until golden brown. The tangy mustard-flavored liquid, known as 'kanji' or 'rai ka pani,' is prepared by fermenting water with mustard seeds, salt, and spices for a day or two, allowing the flavors to develop and mellow down. This liquid is what gives the dish its distinct flavor.
For the beetroot variation, large chunks of beetroot are marinated in the same mustard-flavored liquid, imparting a rich red color and tangy taste to the dish. This variation, known as 'Chukandar kanji,' is especially popular during the festival of Holi, adding a vibrant touch to the celebrations.
When serving kanji vadas, it's customary to provide plenty of the tangy liquid alongside the crispy vadas so that diners can enjoy a refreshing sip of kanji after relishing the savory vadas. This combination of flavors and textures makes kanji vadas a beloved snack, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike on the streets of Rajasthan.

3 fitness recipes from vegetables
Tumblr media
The main rule of a healthy approach to food and eating habits is to maintain a balance of nutrients and energy consumption (calories). Therefore, if you regularly exercise, the composition and volume of your daily diet should be adjusted. This applies to all types of physical activity – it does not matter whether you prefer to calmly concentrate on your body when doing yoga or whether you like to engage in high-intensity interval training. Energy consumption changes and the menu needs to be selected so that you get the most out of training.
It is not recommended to follow a strict restrictive diet when doing fitness. Unless in extreme cases, for a short time, to lose weight by one or two kilograms, carefully weighing the health risks. Feeling exhausted, weak, fans of diets can not recover from physical exertion and often quickly quit fitness. The other extreme is too high-calorie menu. You can not think that fitness "allows" you to eat uncontrollably.
The right approach is a varied, delicious food for you personally with a balanced ratio of macro-and micronutrients and sufficient, but not excessive caloric content. Such a diet will give strength for training, the body will become not only fit, but also healthy, and the mood is always upbeat.
Peking cabbage rolls with tomatoes and cheese
If you like vegetable dishes, then I advise you to prepare rolls of Peking cabbage with a filling of tomatoes and hard cheese. Cabbage rolls are prepared quite simply and quickly, and they turn out very tasty and satisfying.
Tumblr media
Ingredients: Peking cabbage 4 leaves Hard cheese  2 tablespoons Tomato  1 piece Egg  2 pcs. Flour  2 tablespoons Salt to taste Vegetable oil   2 tablespoons
Instruction:
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. In a deep bowl, combine the egg, flour, and salt. Whisk with a fork for 10-15 seconds.
Cut a tight edge from the Peking cabbage leaves. Dip the cabbage leaves on both sides in the batter. Wash the tomato, cut it into slices. Cut the cheese into small pieces.
In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil. Carefully place the cabbage leaves in the batter in a frying pan and fry for 20-30 seconds over moderate heat. Then turn to the other side and fry the cabbage on the second side, the same amount of time.
Now place the fried cabbage leaves on the board. Place 2 slices of tomato and 2 slices of hard cheese on each cabbage leaf. Roll the cabbage leaves with the filling into a roll. Put the cabbage rolls with tomatoes and cheese in a frying pan and fry them a little, so that the cheese inside melts. Here are the rolls of Peking cabbage with tomatoes and cheese turned out!
Vegetable Curry
This vegetarian curry is worth trying if only to appreciate the taste of the original dish. This vegetable curry is made from string beans, eggplant, and canned chickpeas.
Tumblr media
Ingredients: String beans  14.11oz Eggplant  2 pieces Canned chickpeas  1 cup Curry  1 teaspoon Garlic   1 clove Ginger   1 teaspoon Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice   2 tablespoons Olive oil   2 tablespoons Soy sauce  3 tablespoons Vegetable broth or water 1/2 cup Salt   to taste
Instruction:
How to make vegetable curry: Wash the string beans and cut them into small pieces. Wash the eggplants and cut them into medium-thick slices. In olive oil, fry the eggplants until golden, add the chopped garlic and grated ginger. Fry for 2 minutes, until they give off their flavor.
Put the beans in the pan with the eggplant, add all the spices, and mix. Add the chickpeas, soy sauce and lemon juice, and mix. Pour in the broth or water so that the liquid is below the level of the contents of the pan. Cover and simmer the vegetable curry for 10 minutes, until the string beans are cooked. Add salt to the vegetable curry to taste. Vegetable curry with string beans, eggplant and chickpeas is ready. Bon Appetit!
Stuffed beetroot
Stuffed beets look beautiful on the table and, moreover, are still very tasty. Changing the minced meat, you can prepare a snack beet, dessert, and as a second course. Minced meat can be different: rice with meat, poultry, vegetables, raisins, apples, eggs, and herbs. Today I have rice with stewed vegetables.
Tumblr media
Ingredients: Beetroot   6 pcs. Vegetable mixture   8.82oz Boiled rice   8.82oz Salt to taste Pepper to taste Onion 1 pcs. Vegetable oil  2 tablespoons Lean mayonnaise   2 tablespoons Ketchup   1 tablespoon
Instruction:
Preparation of stuffed beets: Beets are better to choose a dark color, round in shape, of the same size. Boil the beets. You do not need to salt the water – the taste of beets will deteriorate.
Beets should not be digested, it is better to slightly undercook. Try to pierce the beets with a toothpick and, if it comes in, the beets are ready. Take 1 dessert spoon per beetroot. The vegetable mixture can be prepared from fresh vegetables, mixing a little diced colorful peppers, zucchini, eggplant, and carrots.
We prepare minced meat. In the oil, fry the finely chopped onion. Add the vegetable mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Add ketchup and rice. We also take a dessert spoon of boiled rice for beets. Add salt and pepper to taste. Put out all 5 minutes. The minced meat is ready.
We will clean the cooled beets. With a knife and a spoon, remove the pulp from each beet so that a thin layer of pulp remains on the walls of the beet.
We will stuff the beets and put them on a baking sheet. The sides of the beetroot with a brush smear with oil. On top, squeeze out a little lean mayonnaise. Bake the beetroot stuffed in the oven for 25-30 minutes at a temperature of 356 F.
Take out the middle of the beetroot and do not throw it away. They can be used to make a very delicious salad. Chop the beets, add the peeled grated apple, chopped nuts. Season with salt and pepper. Season with vegetable oil. Ready-made stuffed beets spread on a plate. Bon Appetit!

Which Juice is Best for Pregnancy?
A woman's body goes through many changes during pregnancy, making it a beautiful journey.
Keeping up a healthy diet is necessary for the mother's health as well as the development of the baby during this journey.
Juicing can be a tasty and refreshing way to make sure you are getting the nutrients you need, even though there are a lot of options.
Let's explore some of the greatest juices for pregnant women, focusing on their dietary advantages and potential contributions to a happy, healthy pregnancy.
Tumblr media
Which juice is best for pregnancy?
1. Orange Juice
It is no secret that orange juice is a classic favorite. Orange juice, which is high in potassium, folate, and vitamin C, supports the immune system and helps prevent neural tube defects in developing babies.
Its inherent sweetness can also help satisfy cravings without requiring added sweeteners during pregnancy.
2. Apple Juice
Apple juice is yet another fantastic option to consider when expecting. Apple juice, which is high in fiber and antioxidants, supports healthy digestion and aids in blood sugar regulation.
Apples' related sweetness may be helpful in the fight against nausea, which is a common early-stage pregnancy symptom.
3. Carrot Juice
Rich in potassium, beta-carotene, and vitamin A, carrot juice is a nutritional powerhouse.
These nutrients are essential for the mother's immune system and skin health as well as the baby's development of vision.
Regularly consuming carrot juice may help in the relief of constipation, a common pregnancy discomfort.
4. Beetroot Juice
Because of its many health benefits, beetroot juice is becoming more and more popular, especially during pregnancy.
Beetroot juice, which is rich in iron, folate, and vitamin C, promotes the production of red blood cells and guards against anemia, which is a common worry for expectant mothers.
Furthermore, beetroot juice's nitrates may support cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure and increasing blood flow.
5. Spinach Juice
A nutrient powerhouse, spinach juice is abundant in iron, calcium, folate, and vitamin K. These nutrients are necessary for blood clotting, bone formation, and the prevention of congenital abnormalities.
Including spinach juice in your diet can also help your body's natural detoxification process and increase your energy levels.

6. Pomegranate Juice
Because of its high concentration of antioxidants, pomegranate juice is well-known for its punicalagins and anthocyanins.
These antioxidants support heart health, lessen inflammation, and shield cells from harm.
Pomegranate juice can help prevent preeclampsia during pregnancy, which is a potentially dangerous condition marked by elevated blood pressure and protein in the urine.
7. Cranberry Juice
Because cranberry juice has a high concentration of proanthocyanidins, which help prevent bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract, it is well known for its ability to prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Cranberry juice can help maintain urinary tract health during pregnancy, as UTIs are more common during this time and can cause complications if untreated.
8. Watermelon Juice
In addition to being hydrating, watermelon juice is a great source of lycopene, vitamin C, and other important nutrients.
Strong antioxidant lycopene helps shield cells from harm and may lower the risk of preeclampsia.
Furthermore, watermelon juice's high water content supports appropriate hydration levels, which are essential for promoting both the health of the mother and the fetus during pregnancy.

Can Cats Eat Beets? A Wholesome and Tasty Delight for Your Feline Friends
Exploring the question of whether cats can indulge in beets is a common curiosity among cat owners looking to add a dash of color to their pet's diet. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the nutritional aspects of beets, uncover the potential benefits and risks linked to feeding cats this vibrant root vegetable, and explore safe methods for introducing it into their diet. Keep reading to uncover whether beets can become a delightful addition to your cat's culinary repertoire.
Tumblr media
Beets: A Sweet and Nutritious Treat
Beets, also known as beetroot, are not just vibrant and sweet but also pack a nutritional punch with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The dazzling purple hue of beets owes its charm to betalains, plant pigments celebrated for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Humans enjoy perks like enhanced blood flow and reduced blood pressure, leading us to wonder: Can Cats Eat Beets? Let's find out.
Exploring the Singapura Cat Breed
Can Cats Eat Beets? Beets, those underground wonders available in an array of colors—red, purple, or golden—are a rich source of fiber, folate, manganese, potassium, vitamin C, and iron. These nutrients offer perks for human health, promoting heart health and exercise performance. With the trend of juicing and incorporating beets into recipes on the rise, cat owners are contemplating whether this veggie can be a safe addition to their feline's diet. The answer to whether cats can eat beets involves a delicate balance between nutritional benefits and potential risks.
Can Cats Eat Beets? The Verdict
In simple terms, cats can indeed savor beets safely and gain nutritional value from this vegetable. When offered in small, occasional amounts, beets are not only non-toxic but may also bring health benefits to cats. Specifically, beets contain manganese, vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants that can support immune health, digestion, and inflammation when consumed in moderation.
However, it's essential to acknowledge the risks associated with feeding beets to cats. Beets contain oxalates, natural compounds that can crystallize in the urinary tract, potentially leading to kidney stones in cats. Cats with existing kidney issues should steer clear of beets. Additionally, the high fiber content in beets could cause gastrointestinal upset if consumed excessively.
Are Beets Safe for Cats? Tapping into Feline Curiosity
Cats, with their penchant for colorful and intriguing foods, may find the vibrant hue and crunch of raw beets fascinating. Yet, as obligate carnivores, cats lack the enzymes for digesting large amounts of carbohydrates and plant matter. While beets may seem irresistibly appetizing, they come with potential risks. Consuming large quantities could upset a cat's stomach, resulting in vomiting or diarrhea. It's advisable to start with small taste tests and closely monitor your cat's reaction.
Are Beets Poisonous to Cats? Navigating Potential Dangers
In small amounts, beets are not inherently toxic to cats. However, two compounds found in beets—oxalic acid and nitrates—can pose risks if consumed excessively. Oxalic acid can lead to the formation of crystals and kidney stones over time, while nitrites from nitrates can result in poisoning. Toxicity concerns arise only with the ingestion of a large quantity of beets in a short time. Monitoring your cat closely and limiting beet intake can mitigate these risks.
Benefits of Beets for Cats: Achieving a Nutritional Harmony
While beets should only be an occasional treat, they can provide some nutritional value to cats. In moderation, beets may offer antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that benefit feline health. Nevertheless, a balanced cat diet should prioritize animal-based proteins. Determining the right amount of beets for cats is crucial, with recommendations not exceeding 1-5% of their total daily calories.
How to Introduce Beets to Cats: A Gentle Approach
Introducing beets to your feline companion requires a careful and gradual approach:
Start with a tiny piece of cooked beet (1 bite or less).
Ensure beets are peeled, chopped, cooked, and cooled.
Mix a small amount into their regular wet cat food.
Avoid raw beets, which are harder to digest.
Gradually increase the amount if no gastrointestinal upset occurs.
Be patient, as cats may ignore beets initially.
Never force-feed; let your cat eat at their own pace.
If symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite occur, cease feeding beets and consult your vet. Slowly introduce new foods and monitor for reactions.
Alternatives and Supplements: Exploring Varied Options
If beets aren't your cat's cup of tea, consider offering alternative nutritious options:
Carrots: A good source of vitamin A.
Blueberries: Packed with antioxidants.
Broccoli: High in vitamin C and fiber.
Pumpkin: Supports digestion and immunity.
Fish: Provides omega-3 fatty acids.
Meat: The primary staple for obligate carnivores.
Quality cat food brands, including Wellness Core, Instinct, Taste of the Wild, Orijen, and Solid Gold, offer balanced nutrition for your feline friend.
In Conclusion: Can Cats Eat Beets? Moderation is the Key
While occasional tiny portions of cooked beets can add nutritional enrichment to your cat's

Part of the fun adventure that is edging up to the idea that you might be neurodivergent as an adult is looking back on your childhood and teen years and going "ohhh..."
Like, with food. I always knew I was a 'picky eater' as a kid and used to joke about oh my poor parents but just now I started remembering my actual food habits and fucking hell. I would eat: plain lettuce brown bread sandwiches (could include sliced cucumbers but not cheese I didn't like that in sandwiches), watercress soup, pea soup, vegetable soup, "pizza" that was just pizza base with cheese no sauce, cheese souffle, mac n cheese, a potato/onion/cheese casserole, green beans, peas, steamed cabbage, pickled beetroot, salad that was just lettuce/cucumber/radish/green onion (I didn't eat raw tomato until adulthood), tomato pasta sauce that probably had very fine puree veg in & chickpeas, mash potatoes in almost any form (bubble & squeak included), baked potatoes (insides to be forked into mash with butter, possibly a very small amount of cheese, then that eaten and then the jacket eaten afterwards with salad in it). Would eat most usual fruit, bananas had to be only barely ripe tho (still do the smell of ripe bananas makes me feel sick). THAT IS ABOUT IT.
Would drink water and some apple juice, no milk, no fizzy drinks unless I'd shaken it to go mostly flat.
Food could not be mixed on the plate and would be eaten in order of least favourite to saving best to last, unless there was a temperature issue that might affect texture then that had to be factored into the calculations AND HOLY FUCKING GODS MOST KIDS DON'T HAVE EATING ORDER CALCULATIONS I WAS SO AUTISTIC WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME.
Also I had a 3 tone "mm mm mm" quiet little happy noise I made when I was eating something especially tasty that lasted till I was about 20/21 before it was shamed out of me.

Mirèio Brunch Society Returns at Raffles Makati With Enhanced Sunday Brunch
Raffles Makati brings back its luxurious Sunday brunch buffet with the newly enhanced Mirèio Brunch Society. I have been waiting for this to happen ever since they stopped offering their Sunday buffet after the pandemic started, but now that everything is getting back to normal, it’s great that they have finally brought back this exquisite Sunday experience.
Raffles Makati is my favorite luxury hotel in the country and I’m always happy to visit their elegant brasserie-style restaurant on the 9th floor offering authentic Provençal-inspired cuisine. The Mirèio Brunch Society was relaunched last March 5, 2023 and happens every Sunday from 12:00nn to 2:30pm. Guests can indulge in a variety of decadent French and continental delights paired with optional choice beverage packages to choose from.
Mirèio is named after a celebrated poem written in 1859 by Nobel Laureate and French writer Frederic Mistral, who hails from Provence, France. I have so many cherished memories here at Mirèio - from its grand opening back in December 2016, up to our civil wedding lunch in 2020 and our pre-nuptial photo shoots last September.
The Mirèio Brunch Society makes Sundays much more fun with its lavish spread of French and continental favorites and choice wines. Taking its cue from the rich traditions of the French countryside, this delectable feast features a curated buffet of creative cuisine and beloved brunch classics, as well as several interactive live stations for risotto, seafood, tartare, flambé and more.
A great place to start is at the Charcuterie Station which offers a variety of cured meats like prosciutto, chorizo, salami, beef pastrami, and more.
The main specialty here is the Jamon Iberico carving station where you can see how they prepare these tasty slices of Spanish hams. You could also grab some freshly baked breads to go with your hams.
The cheese table is a heaven for cheese lovers, especially with its fine selection of imported cheese hailing from regions all over Europe. You can find Manchego, Goat Cheese, Gruyere, Brie, Chavignol, Blue cheese, and more.
Make sure to drop by the Raclette Station where the chef will heat up the raclette machine and serve the melted cheese over a plate of hams, breads, and potatoes. Now this is how cheese should be enjoyed!
You can find a wide selection of breakfast and brunch favorites on the buffet spread like Eggs Benedict, Croque madam, ham and cheese croissant, galette bretonne, roasted potatoes, and others. There’s also a Kids Corner with spaghetti meatballs, fish fingers, and french fries.
The Blinis Station comes with colorful mini pancakes topped with fish roe and cream. Everything looks so pretty at the Mirèio Brunch Society.
You can find other very interesting choices around the corner like the Marinated Beetroot Salad with mascarpone and crushed pistachio. There’s also some Salmon Gravlax plus Marinated Mozzarella and burrata basil pesto with sundried tomato.
There are several other live station all around the restaurant like the Risotto Station which cooks fresh risotto for guests. Mirèio serves some of the best and most authentic risotto in the city so making them part of the buffet is a great for their guests.
Beside it is the Bouillabaisse Station. This is a traditional dish from Provence which consists of a rich and spicy soup made with various kinds of fish and seafood.
Another live station is the Tartare Station which is served a la minute. Choose your desired ingredients and the server will prepare it for you. I ordered Salmon, Tuna, and Snapper combined with spring onions, mango, and tomatoes. You can customize your tartare or just ask the server to prepare their specialty.
The Mirèio Sunday Brunch comes with several Beverage Options to choose from depending on your mood for the day. The Society package (+P600) gives you unlimited non-alcoholic drinks such as chilled juices, iced tea, sodas, and mocktails like the Strawberry Lychee Cooler and the Kiwi Grapes Mojito. The Insider package (+P1900) adds alcoholic beverages such as wines, rosés, beers, and cocktails. You can also splurge with their Mirèio Club and Le Cercle packages which include sparkling wines and Moët & Chandon champage.
Aside from the appetizing spreads and live stations, the Mirèio Sunday brunch comes with pass-around items every 30 minutes. These include some of their most special dishes served in bite-sized portions. It also comes with wine pairings so you can really enjoy a boozy brunch without having to add too miuch for your beverage package.
My favorite among the pass-around items was the Foie Gras with Apple Chutney served on toasted bread. If you really like it, you can ask for a few more servings like I did. Some of the other exquisite items included lobster with caviar, angel hair pasta with truffle, and even a slice of Baked Alaska.
We haven’t even tried some of the main dishes yet! The Seafood Station is where you can find the most prized items at the brunch buffet. I loved getting these fresh and juicy Scallops on the half shell.
There are also Blue Crabs on display, but make sure to get a few pieces of the Alaskan Crab Legs and Snow Crabs which you usually won’t find even in other five-star hotel buffets. These are very expensive so you can really get your money’s worth just here at the seafood station.
They also have these huge Tiger Prawns that you can bring over to the cooking stations where they can have it prepared in garlic and butter.
The Carving Station is another highlight at the Mirèio Brunch Society. They have this crunchy Porchetta with Pineapple Chutney and the Roasted Salmon Fillet.
My favorite here of course is the huge Australian Prime Rib Eye steak. You can ask the server to get you a big slice of this meaty steak then choose your desired sauce. The steak goes so well with the prawns and crab legs and nothing can be as luxurious and delicious as these.
Finally, make your way to the Dessert Station where guests can Indulge in a wide variety of sweets and confections. Raffles Makati offers some of the best macarons in the city so I made sure to get some of these. The different flavors included Earl Grey, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Blood Orange macarons, and more.
One last thing to do before ending your Mirèio Sunday Brunch is to head to the Flambé Station and order a plate of Crepe Suzette Flambé topped with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. This is the perfect way to end your journey at the Mirèio Brunch Society.
The Mirèio Brunch Society is available every Sunday for P3,800 per person. If you have an Accor Plus card, you can even get a 20% discount for your group or family. We would like to thank Michael Sagaran of Raffles Makati for hosting our small group and showing us how a luxury Sunday brunch should be. Cheers!

Buy Traditional Lebanese Food Online At Best Price | Byroots
By fusing fiery Arabic flavors with the hues and textures of Mediterranean cuisine, Lebanese cuisine exposes your palate to a world of unique flavors that improve with each meal.
Lebanon’s cuisine, which is rich in fresh vegetables, luscious meat, and strong spices and juices, has benefited from the country’s climate, location, and influences from its surroundings.
Tabbouleh is a distinctive Lebanese salad composed of finely minced tomatoes, onions, fresh parsley, mint, a small amount of bulgur, and olive oil.
It is extensively drunk all day long and frequently served with Lebanese mezze, a buffet of small plates.
Over time, Lebanese Traditional Lebanese Food has modified this time-tested meal by switching out tomatoes for pomegranate seeds and bulgur for quinoa.
The quantity of excellent, fresh ingredients in tabbouleh has led to an increase in its popularity in a variety of other countries.
Traditionally, lettuce, mint, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, and fried pita bread or pita chips are combined to make fattoush.
It is expertly prepared with a dash of sumac, olive oil, lemon juice, and pomegranate molasses. This results in a platter of mixed greens that is flavorful, filling, and appears out of nowhere.
Lebanese people have experimented with fattoush salad over time by incorporating a wide range of various ingredients.
This delectable salad from Traditional Lebanese Food is a must-try and goes great with both lunch and dinner.
Labneh is one of the most popular morning foods in Lebanon. When making labneh, the surplus liquid from the yogurt is strained out until you get a solid, creamy white dip.
It has a flavor that mixes the flavors of salt, tang, and sour in an ideal way. Because it contains fresh olives and olive oil, it tastes best when served cold.
Labneh is very common in a lot of Lebanese homes. Garnish with thyme and other herbs and spread it over baguettes, pita bread, or toast.
In addition, labneh and garlic paste can be mixed to create a filling and delicious mezze dish for lunch in traditional Lebanese cuisine.
Goat’s milk can be used to make labneh in a number of different ways. After being strained, it is dried out, formed into balls, and kept in olive oil jars for a longer shelf life. It’s delicious!
Hummus is one of the most well-known meals from the Levantine region. Tahini paste, lemon juice, garlic, and chickpeas are the main ingredients in traditional hummus recipes.
It’s a tasty savory dish that pairs well with a variety of dishes. It can be eaten alone or as a side dish with platters of grilled meat or chicken. It can also be spread over a variety of bread, used as a dip for raw or cooked vegetables, or served as a side dish.
Although the classic recipe is still the most popular, there are many other varieties of hummus made in Lebanon.
Among the most popular hummus types are those cooked with meat and onions, basil, or beetroot.
Rich, spicy, and prepared with roasted red peppers, muhammara is a delicious dip.
The Arabic word “muhammara,” which means “become red,” refers to the intense red color of the dip.
It is made from freshly cooked red peppers that are then mashed into glue together with nuts, breadcrumbs, and olive oil.
Garlic, salt, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, and occasionally spices like cumin are added to improve the flavor.
