You shuddered as Bucky nudged his nose against your cheek, the action pressing you even closer into Steve; you could feel his rumbling chuckle go through you, making your knees shake ever so slightly. "I’m not sure," you whispered; it was hard to keep your thoughts focused on anything, really.

"Concentrate, sweetheart," Steve said, his lips way too close to your ear, "otherwise how’re we gonna know if that piece of shit gets the message?"

"Language, Stevie," Bucky grinned against your skin, for all appearances pressing a kiss to your neck even though there was still a hair’s breadth of space between you.

You forced your eyes to return to the spot where you’d seen your ex a few minutes or eternities before, finding it empty; then, Steve’s hand tightened a little around your waist, and your attention bid you adieu again.

"Maybe keep doing that," you murmured when Bucky’s metal fingers lightly traced up your arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps behind; neither of them objected.

Sobota dzień mopa. Caly tydzień po pracy jeździliśmy na budowe układać styropian, wracaliśmy późno i jestem przeorana tym tygodniem. Dlatego dziś mąż pojechał sam, a ja ogarniam w domu. Tunel i grządki tez nieogarnięte, aleee może w końcu podgonię z tymi wszystkimi zaległościami bo od lipca zostaje bez pracy. Kupę stresów miałam ostatnio przez to, tak naprawde dowiedziałam się o tym w czwartek...i to nie z inicjatywy pracodawcy, bo na każde moje próby zorientowania się co ze mną dalej, słyszałam "jeszcze nie wiem" pomimo wczesniejszych obietnic, że będę wiedziała wcześniej jakby kolejnej umowy miało nie być. Niby od osób trzecich słyszałam że jest szansa na powrót za 2 miesiące,ale ja wiem,że nie warto. Z drugiej strony lepsze znane zło niż bezrobocie. Czuje się fatalnie z tym. Sposób załatwienia tej sprawy jest poniżej krytyki, zresztą jak cała ta firma. Dlaczego ludzie którzy nie potrafią rozmawiać z drugim człowiekiem prowadzą działalności gospodarcze?

Szkoda, że nie można wyrzucić tutaj z siebie wszystkiego.

Wczoraj był szósty dzień taty bez taty 🥺 Jak wszystko jest dobrze, to miłe jest celebrowanie tych różnych dni. Mam wrażenie w dobie Internetu jakoś bardziej niż wcześniej, ale jak kogoś brakuje, to tylko powodują kłucie w sercu. Wiem,że nie można tak podchodzić. Każdy się cieszy tym co ma i to pokazuje, nie ma w tym nic złego.

A Wam jak mija sobota ? Pogoda dzisiaj u nas przedziwna. Pochmurno, ale jednocześnie ciepło z przelotnymi opadami. Jakoś tak ciemno w domu, co jeszcze bardziej wzmaga mętlik w głowie i brak chęci do czegokolwiek ☘ Mam nadzieje,że wyjdzie jeszcze słońce, dosłownie i w przenośni ☀️

Hej hej moje motylki!🦋

Dzisiejszy dzień był okropny! Musiałam zjeść dzisiaj obiad by domownicy nie nabrali podejrzeń, bo powoli coś podejrzewają 🫤. Przez zjedzenie obiadu się zaczęło. Oprócz zjedzenia porcji makaronu z szpinakiem i kurczakiem, zjadłam moją sałatkę (naszczescie tylko 28 kcal) to zapoczątkowało lekki epizod objadania i pochłonęłam jeszcze dwa 3bity i mój tosta od mojego taty. Czuje się okropnie. Oczywiście co do obiadu pomogła mi jeszcze toaleta ;)). Było tak pięknie, ale no cóż będę musiała się jakoś ukarać. Standardowo od jutra będę starała się powtórzyć pięciodniowego fasta. Jeszcze dzisiaj nie wychodziłam z domu, bo się rozchorowałam więc jutro też zostaje w domu. Nadrobie to ćwiczeniami!

Mam nadzieję, że wasz dzień był lepszy niż mój słoneczka! ☀️

Steve’s voice rumbles across your skin, almost as soothing as his hands as he finishes wrapping up your foot, his eyes flicking back towards yours constantly to check he’s not pulling the bandages too tight; your head is swimming with the unconcealed worry in his gaze.

"I’m fine," you say quietly when he keeps holding onto your foot, carefully, like you’re something precious that might break in his grasp, his fingers tracing feather-light circles you can barely feel, softly, carefully. "Let me take a look at those scratches."

"Don’t worry about me," he says, but when you reach out for his cheek, he leans into your touch, anyway, seeking the comfort he wouldn’t usually allow himself; that’s how you can tell it’s been a long day for him, too.

"Maybe next time I suggest we go out for lunch, you should just tell me no," you suggest and he chuckles because this was the third time in a row one of your dates got intercepted by vigilante shit; sometimes you really wondered how you could have ever thought that getting a job at the Stark office wouldn’t interfere with your personal life all that much.

"Are you alright?"

Steve is laughing at you; you have to force your eyes up to glare at him, but you can't help it, it darts right back to his uniform. To the stars gleaming on his chest and on the shield that's hanging from his arm, casually almost, like the sight of him in his full get-up wasn't enough to make every woman—or man—drop to their knees at his feet.

And the bastard is smiling.

"You didn't even look at me like that when I came back from Erskine's experiment," he grins, and why wouldn't he have; you're sure he can see your fingers twitching, wanting to reach out and trace the outline of the gleaming patch over his heart, everyone around you be damned.

"Shut up," you mumble, and even though you resent the fact that he's still laughing at your expense, you like the new gleam in his eyes, confident and merry.

He lets you touch the star on his chest later, when it's just the two of you, lets you peel it aside to listen to his heartbeat quickening underneath your attentive gaze, and for once, he doesn't shy away from it.

It was a shitty day on the tail end of a shitty week, and so when Steve got home, you still hadn’t moved from the couch; the dirty dishes had stayed exactly where they’d been when he’d left, and it only added to the giant knot in your stomach.

"Hey, honey," he said softly, and you managed to tiredly raise your hand and wave, the fake smile on your lips not even close to reaching your eyes. "How’s it going, pretty girl?"

"Not great," you said, not feeling like his pretty girl whatsoever and barely able to hide a wince at the pang of guilt in your chest because of it, and so you added a quiet, "I missed you."

He squatted down in front of you, his smile still nothing but genuine, "Missed you too."

When he opened his arms, you didn’t miss a beat before falling into his embrace, breathing a little deeper when you were enveloped by his warmth, the scent of the cologne he’d put on yesterday still lingering on his shirt. You knew he’d hold you as long as you needed, and even though that didn’t take your mind off everything that was going on, it helped a little.

He groans and you giggle, delighting at how flustered your man gets when you read stupid pick up lines to him.

"Oh, I’m busy," he says lowly, and your grin widens when he cocks his head. "And you’d better pack it in now, sweetheart, or else it’s gonna be a very long night."

You pouted as you met Natasha’s stern gaze, her arms crossed in front of her face, "Why not?"

"Because," she said, "you and Barnes somehow keep finding abandoned animals out on the street and we’re running out of space—the compound isn’t a shelter!"

"You’re terrible," you murmured, hugging the small puppy closer to your heart; it whined adorably, and you sent Nat another accusatory look, "you want me to just leave him out there?!"

"I’m just saying you could drop some of them at the actual shelter, because that’s why those exist," she said, rubbing her temples as Alpine rubbed against her leg.

You felt yourself being pulled against a strong chest, and Bucky’s lips pressed to your forehead just before he whispered, "Bring him upstairs and leave this one to me."

He winked at you and you smiled, cooing soothingly at the puppy as you wandered towards your room to see if you had a leftover collar; this one was was gonna be called Lucky, you decided, just as you heard your boyfriend’s voice behind you:

"Have you met Liho?"

so you try to nudge him, but he pretends like he doesn't notice

the thing is, you haven't gotten paid yet this month, and even though you're pretty sure that price is almost unbelievably low for a bike like that, you can't just get it for him

the spark turns into amusement when steve notices you pout

"it's just a bike, sweetheart. i’d rather spend my money on you"

(well, the second part isn't a lie)

"when's the last time you bought something just for yourself?"

the fact that he has to think about it for this long makes you pretty sure it's been decades

but you’re not going to force him to buy it, so he goes over to pay for your gas and you continue on

you can tell that he’s regretting not getting the bike almost immediately

the fact that he refuses to show you what he’s been drawing in his sketchbook is a pretty good clue

as is the fact that he brings up the motorcycle he used to drive in ’44 a lot in conversation again

"tell you what," you say over breakfast a couple of days later. "we can pass through town again on our way back, and if it’s still there, you’re going to have a chat with the owner"

he agrees to that, at least

he probably thinks there’s no way in hell it’s still going to be there a week later

and when he pulls back into the same parking spot a couple of days later, it seems like he’s right

steve looks positively devastated, but you persuade him to still go inside and ask about the bike

he walks out again with the keys

turns out, the owner pulled it from the window after she heard that captain america might be interested in purchasing it
