Fun Game Concept!
So as you know, Choo Choo charles is a open-world game that has you constantly being hunted down by a man-eating steam engine monster while also gathering enough upgrades and weapons to kill it. Well, I just thought...
...what if it was on Sodor and the monsters were the ttte characters we know and love?
The game would take place after BWBA (but better), and would be followed up as a sequel to my TATMR, which I'm currently writing. There would also be a few elements from Security Breach, which would involve you getting collectibles or weapons that would benefit the player independently, having to sneak through certain areas.
The Story
It's been years since Lily and Patch, along with Mr Conductor had saved Lady and her magic railroad from doom. Both are now young adults when Lily gets a strange letter from her grandpa, asking for help. She decides to see what's going on and Patch tags along for the sake of it. One thing leads to another and the two find themselves on Sodor again.
But something's wrong. The engines have transformed into beast-like creatures, attacking anyone they see on sight. Mr Conductor and the two soon reunite and are enlisted to help find a cure to stop the insanity. Along the way, Lily and Patch must dodge, weave, stun and defend themselves from the horrors of Sodor!
Gameplay + tutorial
In this (not real) ttte horror game, in the first segment, you play as Mr Conductor.
Mr Conductor is who you play as for the tutorial and the rest of the segment. The tutorial involves you learning how to collect items, sneak through areas where engines are roaming and how to shoot/throw and distract enemies using the environment around you. The location of this tutorial is on Misty Island, and the tutorial uses the location as an advantage to help the player be able to navigate through foggy or dark areas without a flashlight.
The three main antagonists for the tutorial are the Logging locos (they seem fitting for baby-step missions) who are always gonna be patrolling the Logging station and beach.
For the rest of the segment, Mr Conductor is tasked with helping around the camps that are inhabited by most of the Sodor residents. Here are the tasks;
1# Reach the other end of the Logging station without being spotted (tutorial begins here)
2# Find the storage hut to store the fish
3# Talk to Ruth
4# Collect 10 peices of jobi wood around the camp to help Ruth build the handcar
5# Give the wood to Ruth
6# Talk to the three railway controllers
7# Find Junior
8# Use the handcar and go to Sodor
Collectibles
Scattered around the island are a total of 13 wooden sculptures of the engines. They can be found in areas that are linked the most to them.
Tumblr media
The Thomas sculpture can be located in the mines, a call back to Down the Mine.
Tumblr media
The Percy sculpture can be found hanging off the edge of a dilapidated truck, a somewhat reference to Percy's Predicament.
Tumblr media
The Edward sculpture can be located at the back of his old berth at Tidmouth Sheds. This is a reference to Edward's Day Out.
Style
The game would have ps1-style graphics and the environment is really dark to increase uneasiness for the player.
Tumblr media
The engines
The engines are the enemies of the game. They don't have any dialogue as they've all gone nearly fully insane and feral, practically animals at this point. So good luck begging them to stop, your pleas will fall on deaf ears.
But they're not evil! They're just hungry...I promise. The hunger is strong, so powerful that it hurts. They are just as innocent as you...
The engines are so hungry that they don't want a friendly chat. You smell...so good, every fleshy creature they find smells so sweet...so divine...so delicious. Looks like you've got some massive mouths to feed, Sir.
They stalk around the darkness, looking for something to eat, somewhere to sleep, somewhere to be free. Sodor has recently been gathering a lot of dark clouds, making everywhere dark, but they don't mind at all. Too much brightness hurts their eyes.
You'll know who and where they are, just listen for the blast of a whistle or the honk of a horn.

So now that it’s been about a week since the release, I’d like to go on a spiel of the different aspects and headcannons of my script.
**Spoiler Warning**
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A THREAD
So my main goal for this project was to rewrite all the scenes in chronological order. The way the original movie was plotted had different time jumps all over the place, which was confusing to follow. My aim was to make a story flow smoothly from start to finish.
Second main goal was to expand on all the characters, especially reintroducing P.T. Boomer. The humans needed just as much of a bad guy as the engines did with Diesel 10. Not only did I give the engines more screen time -for a movie about Thomas-, but for the humans too.
That being said, I found a lot of the human characters in the original movie were just so muddled and boring. And when watching/reading the director’s cut they had more potential, but unfortunately Britt Allcroft gave them too much unnecessary exposition.
One that went overboard from the director’s cut was P.T. Boomer, he was shown as an excessively comical villain that was more of a joke than a threat. That however gave me the inspiration to make him the original Schemer from Shining Time Station. A name which he hates.
Burnett Stone was also a greatly wasted potential. Britt only portrayed him just as a sad man, but in the director’s cut he had much more emotion and passion! I certainly gave him reasons to be sad about. He is a man broken by the loss in his life, but protective of Lily.
Lily was definitely the most interesting to write. The original & director’s cut had some lackluster writing and acting, but it gave me inspiration to portray Lily as high-functioning autistic. She is smart and clever, but easily gets emotional and overstimulated.
Patch was the most blank template of all. I portrayed him as a country boy with a heart of gold. He cares a lot about his friends and Shining Time, and after learning about Burnett’s secret of Lady, his loyalty pays off in the end.
Billy Twofeathers was a greatly missed opportunity. Not only is he wise, kind, and experienced, but he stops at nothing to protect Shining Time and the nature around him. Something very spiritual and important to his Native American heritage. A no nonsense gentle giant.
Stacy Jones was honestly one of the better written characters of the original film, despite having little screen time. She also cares deeply for Shining Time, and loves to help others. I gave her some more moments being a helpful guardian to her friends.
Mutt…oh Mutt… I don’t know why Britt was trying to force a magical sentient dog trying to change fate for Shining Time by “making Lily to get on the wrong train” or “being at the right places at the right times”. In my story he’s just a dog. A good boi. Simple as.
===
Now for the engines! Thomas and his friends deserved a lot more spotlight. Britt did ultimately make the right decision by including just the core 6, minus Edward. The director’s cut honestly did not have a good place for Edward plot wise. It’s sad but it was for the best.
I -did- however give Edward a small roll at the start and very end of the script. I do headcannon he took Sir Topham Hatt and Lady Hatt off to the mainland for holiday. Another small cameo is George the Steamroller near the end with Diesel 10, just a little nod. ;)
Unfortunately, like Edward’s original role, I couldn’t find a way to include Duck into my script. He and Edward were just there in the director’s cut to overly-explain to the audience what was going on in a toddler-esque way.
In the director’s cut Duck also clashes with George again and references the season 5 moment where George causes Duck’s truck to collide with Gordon. Which was a weird addition if TATMR was intended for audiences -outside- of the Thomas fandom, so how would they know?
Overall, George being originally written as a tertiary villain going around smashing all the buffers was just silly tbh. I axed it out in favor of his little cameo in my script. He’s tired of Diesel 10 complaining and states his hatred for railways, true to his character!
Splatter and Dodge were two wasted characters! I did them some justice by writing them as proper henchmen…Hench-diesels? They’re not completely braindead, just silly little goons. But once Diesel 10 and Boomer pair up -with intent to cause harm-, Splodge says enough!
===
And last of all, the Conductors. Goodness gracious they were the real diamonds in the rough. I had to cut a lot of nonsense out, especially the soccer ball/baseball bat moment with Mr. C… that gold dust hits hard, huh? I couldn’t even make it work in a dream scene.
Junior wasn’t as bad. I just tweaked some moments here and there to make more sense in the story. Example how he “put party poppers down Thomas’s funnel” is a moment we don’t even see on screen. I included a gag where he just puts them under Thomas’s wheels to spook him!
As for Mr. Conductor the 1st and 2nd, just some nods to George Carlin and Ringo Starr’s roles in Shining Time Station. Carlin being the grandfather and Starr being the father to Alec Baldwin’s. I know it’s not the original chronological roles but I like it better this way.
In conclusion, this whole project was the result of almost 2 months of hard work from me to the fandom. A love letter for TATMR for its nostalgia and happiness from my youth. Britt had some wild ambitions, but it just needed to be… Rerailed. ;D
Thank you for reading!

Fin here- i need to ask question about the TATMR horror story, Edward's Requiem, and the Tidmouth Train to Hell because what why and when i need answers-
(yes i got a tumblr. Do I know how to use it? No. But challenges must be face in pursuit of answers)
Alright! So I have already done an answer for 'Edward; A Requiem in Steam', which I will link if I can figure it out. (If not, it's in my posts), and the Tidmouth Train to Hell is a little more vague - but I can give a full answer for the TATMR Horror Story!
So, it's less directly TATMR related, and more based off Diesel 10 and Lady, and the true story behind Diesel 10's modifications. Let's just say it's... grim.
'He awoke to men rummaging about in his cab, slowly taking off his panelling and inspecting every inch of his system. “He’s an interesting one, that’s for sure,” one said. “Look – his wiring doesn’t seem to be normal after a point.” He pulled at the wire, and D801 yelped. “It’s almost like nerves! Steamers don’t have this… and neither did the other diesels.” D801 wanted the strange men out of his engine room, but he was powerless to stop them. Thankfully, the men did not mess with his internal engine any more, screwing the covers back into place after gently cleaning and repairing everything. D801 felt… good.
Then, they broke out the paint pots. They sprayed him a Military desert camouflage, with the number ‘10’ sprayed onto his cab sides. “From now on, you are Project 10, understood?” one of the men said. It was not a question. “Yes sir,” Project 10 stammered. The other engines watched, unblinking. Project 10 could feel their eyes boring into him. In the light, he could see what the Army had done to them clearly. The eldest had once been a regal blue – he could see where the Army’s paint had peeled off her, leaving the patches of blue clearly visible in the sunlight.
She wore an eyepatch, and her copper chimney had been long replaced by a much larger funnel. She had ‘Project 1’ sprayed on her tender… and pieces missing. Pieces missing all over her. Her cab had been removed, her wheel-arches were gone. There were places where Project 10 could see her boiler tubes – where he could see the innermost workings of a steam engine. She was the only one who didn’t stare, instead she kept her one visible eye closed.'
Yeah... this is the least gruesome part I could find of what I've written. Certainly not for kids, and also a project I stuck on the backburner for a bit while I am focusing on getting my ERS series completed.

Conclusions I came to about Thomas and the Magic Railroad from watching it in a tired, sick haze (don't take these too seriously):
Edward was not in it because he was busy making sure the NWR didn't fall into chaos while Mr. C was away doing his thing.
The tumbleweed that hangs around by the magic buffers can talk because it is an extension of the magic buffers themselves (or the magic within them, either works). It is the magic trying to guide the engines and help them to fix it.
At its core, tatmr is about the importance of wonder and imagination and how when one loses those things, it can sometimes feel like your world is crumbling around you (*cough* the viaduct *cough*), but even though it may seem like you've lost the 'magic' forever, you can still find it again through the people you love.
Mr. C is to Joy in Inside Out as Burnett Stone is to Riley. Hear me out:
Mr. C is the narrator and the one who most of the story follows. He is actively trying to solve the problem of the gold dust, and the places he can go become limited as the magic fades.
Burnett Stone, while I do not believe he is the cause of the magic problems on Sodor, his personal journey mirrors what's happening to the gold dust and the magic. As his hope that he'll be able to ever fix Lady fades, so does the magic. When he and the kids finally get Lady to steam and the team makes it onto the railroad, the energy comes back to the railroad and Burnett seems truly happy for the first time in the movie ("It's hard to believe Burnett could have ever looked that happy."), and it's at the moment that he finds peace in the fact that if he can't share the moment with Tasha, he can at least share it with his granddaughter, that Lady gets her face.
I am not saying that Mr. C literally fills the same role that Joy fills inside Riley's head, not at all, but I do think they fill similar narrative roles, if you understand.
Shining Time is an inherently magical place, but whether this is why Mr. C lives there or because of him is unclear. Either way, it's clearly a generational thing ("my hometown: Shining Time.").
The bat and the ball can be interpreted as how we can often try to suppress our more childlike impulses because they are frowned upon by larger society as we get older. The ball represents the bouncy child within us who would prefer to go outside and play than have hot cocoa, and the bat is a contrast to this, representing the harder adult the world wants us to show, and actively pushes the ball's desires away by smacking it out of Mr. C's hand.
The song Burnett Stone is listening to when Lady's whistle echoes through the valley the first night Lily is there is a song that he and Tasha used to dance to.
Mutt is a regular dog, but because he lives in Shining Time - which is magical, remember - he has increased intelligence and some kind of supernatural sense (he knew that Lily and Junior had to meet at the station).
While Mutt does have increased intelligence, neither Patch nor Lily can understand his barks like they seem to in the movie. They are simply being imaginative children. I think they both know there's something special about that dog, though.

Greetings loyal Sudrians. The 20th anniversary of TATMR has officially ended. Lily, Patch, and Lady have returned to Muffle Mountain ⛰ via the Magic Railroad. They won’t be coming back for another 5 years. It’s a pity; but for Lily, it’s enough time for her to adjust to her grandpa’s death. Seeing that he was buried on Sodor at Lady’s Grotto, I can totally understand that.
Before leaving Sodor, Lady and Thomas went out the cliffs at Bluff’s Cove to look out at the sea. It was Lady’s way of saying goodbye to her old friend Burnet. Thomas definitely understood. Besides, the view is absolutely stunning. It’s a perfect way to say farewell to a longtime friend of Sodor. So as we leave Sodor for today, we must all never forget Burnet’s love and faith in magic.
Goodbye Burnet and may the green lights of glory shine upon you and Tasha.

Something I've been thinking of relating to how Lady was in TATMR: even though we didn't see much of her, when it came to her being chased by D10, I personally think she may have been holding back on her powers.
Think about it: she's basically (from what is described of her) a GODDESS. She has infinite power. She could most certainly thanos snap D10 out of existence and call it a day, but no, she doesn't. I think Lady's just been secretly fucking around with D10 and leading him to believe that she can be killed. She can't.
My take on her is that she's a more pacifist type goddess. Even if something or someone is trying to kill her, she's not worried in the slightest, she finds it quite laughable and a little pathetic that someone like P.T Boomer thinks he can kill a goddess. She refuses to kill, as its "beneath her". Even if she was somehow killed, the steam engines wouldn't fade away. She's not the only one.
She doesn't like humans all that much, but Burnett, Lily, Patch and all the sudrain folk are an exception.

Gonna put this out there. You know Lily and Patch from TATMR?
They also exist in this au, and are adults now, but when they go to Sodor, they revert to the age they were when they first went to Sodor because the portal that transports them there (aka the buffers), kinda has a mind of its own, or to be more specific, the magic inside it. Little parts of Lady’s railroad, such as the tunnel, has magic that even she herself has no control over, and that magic can basically identify an object, engines or creature that goes through it. Say that object or engine was in bad shape, opposite to how it looked before. The tunnel basically reverts the person or thing travelling through it to the way it looked when they first entered. If Lily and Patch were going through the tunnel back to the mountain, the whole thing kinda goes in reverse and they get reverted to the last known form they were when they entered the tunnel.
So…if the tunnel reverts you to the way you looked when you first went through it (going to Sodor), then what about Lady? Well, Lady’s a goddess, the tunnel magic can do nothing to her form even if its changed up a bit, so no, she won’t revert back into her pre-infected state. Even in her normal form, the monstrous featured on her face are something she just can’t get fully rid of, even if she tried. Whatever magic was in that infection, it’s more powerful than hers. For Thomas, he may not be a god, but the magical elements in the infection he’s got have stopped him from being reverted back. Nothing happens. For any engine, just humans (and conductors).
Lily-
Age in Shining Time; 35 years old
Age on Sodor; 11 years old (still mentally 35)
Patch
Age in Shining Time; 36 years old
Age on Sodor; 12 years old (still mentally 36)
Burnett
(Okay, Burnett is a different story. You see, if a human ever became the driver of a steam engine goddess, the engine’s magic can slow down the human’s aging process or drastically change it to that of a well cared for machine, basically eternity. This old man’s very likely gonna be the same age forever, or will live as long as Lady, and she’s immortal)
Age in Shining Time; 57 years old (would be 81 this year)
Age; Alas, still 57 years old
Lily and Patch can’t afford the time to just go to Sodor by plane. The portal’s the quickest and cheapest route. It’s not that they don’t want to spend money or can’t. They just can’t handle the amount of hours they’d have to endure to travel to a small island in the UK to visit talking trains.
