hello! thought i'd make a little intro post first to talk about what this blog is and what i'm going to do with it. my name is evan, i'm autistic and fall out boy has been one of my longest running special interests (9 years so far!). i love making random lists, and i often do it with lyrics from my favorite artists. sometimes i make these lists into sporcle quizzes (my username there is whatacatchisle if you're interested), but most of them just kind of sit there unused. so i figured, why not make a blog to share those lists with people who might be interested? so that's what this is! i will be posting lists of fall out boy lyrics by keyword, so for example my first few posts will likely be colors, names, and places. some posts will be broad categories like those, and others may be specific keywords. i will have my ask box open if anyone wants a post from me for a specific word or theme, so don't be afraid to make requests! i don't really know if anyone is going to care about this blog at all, but i figured it was worth a shot since i already have so many lists essentially pre-made, i don't lose anything if this does end up flopping lol

this blog was directly inspired by @taylorswiftandx, seeing the traction their blog has made me think maybe my little lists would be worth sharing as well, so shoutout to them for the great work they do over there, definitely go visit their blog if you're also a swiftie!!

what are your favourite words that only have one reference?

Hm... I think the top spot goes to "catastrophic" because I really love everything about the phrase "catastrophic blues" in Hits Different. However, when I read "words that only have one reference" I immediately thought of But Daddy I Love Him. Due to how many times I've read Taylor's lyrics, it immediately jumped out at me on first listen just how many words she uses in this song that she's never used before, and so many of them are words you would not expect to hear in a pop song. I submit for your consideration:

Hi i really want a taylor themed selfie mirror for my wedding and want lyrics saying either about people taking selfies or about people looking good in their outfits. Please could you help?!!

That's such a cute idea -- I'll do my best!

So there are no lyrics that say "selfie" specifically, and the ones that say "outfit" are almost comically bad for this application ("and all the outfits were terrible, 2003 unbearable" from Paris and "changed plans and lovers and outfits and rules" from Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus).

Instead, I'm going to link to some posts I have where lyrics about looks often come up, which tend to be ones about body parts, clothes, and taking pictures: Bodies, heads, freckles, hair, cheeks, lips, eyes, face, dresses, shirts, coats, skirts, high heels, jeans, clothes, pictures.

I pulled out some that I thought might be good fits:

Thanks! So this sounds really familiar, but it is not a lyric that I've been able to find. The closest I came across is maybe "If she's got blue eyes, I will surmise that you'll probably date her" from Is It Over Now?

Are there any other keywords you’ve experienced where they’re in title only?

Only names! Mary, Ronan, and Robin are used in/as song titles but never appear in any lyrics. I think those are the only single word occurrences, but there are a couple others where the exact song title never appears in any lyrics, in case it's of interest (change from the title in bold):
