@courtney-deserved-better here to settle the "does noah get bullied" debate with my own analysis including citations from his td biographies and audition tape bc im unwell about this show
"Being the runt of a nine-sibling litter, Noah has found a way to use brains over brawn with clever manipulation. He never got picked on in the schoolyard because he knew how to draft some lunkhead into smashing somebody's face if they got too close." - Noah's TDI biography
"Best memory from childhood? I made the school bully cry at assembly, just by making fun of his shoes." - Noah's TDWT biography
based on his actions in the show i do think noah has the potential to get bullied but he has, as of the start of tdwt, either been able to avoid it or been able to hide evidence that he's been bullied from super fans like sierra.
remember, in the celebrity manhunt episode, sierra & co. hadn't been able to find any information on noah besides a blurry picture when he was a) working for chris, a notable figure in the public eye and b) sought after by sierra who canonically can get all sorts of private information about contestants.
so it's conceivable that noah has been bullied and has been able to hide it from anyone associated with total drama/the press or he hasn't been bullied at all.
one specific thing to note in the his biographies is that it specifies he hasn't been bullied at school ("never got picked on in the schoolyard" and "made the school bully cry at assembly") so it's possible that he has been bullied outside of school.
the assumption that noah would be bullied is a reasonable one considering how he behaves toward his team in tdi, how he's constantly sarcastic/disparaging, and how duncan treats him in general. but this is reality tv where things are much more heightened/higher stakes than everyday life.
the one moment we do see noah at school in canon (his audition tape), he's congratulated by a passing classmate for winning class president (saying he deserves it) and noah responds simply by thanking him, no snark at all.
now, is noah smart enough to stage that interaction to make himself look better in his audition tape? absolutely. but if we take it at face value, we learn that the way noah presents himself in school is different than how he presents himself on total drama.
so, my conclusion is that the most likely scenario is that noah doesn't get bullied at school because he's able to use his wit to deter people from doing so when acting more likeable doesn't cut it. the second most likely scenario is that noah does get bullied and uses his intellect to cover it up from people like sierra + the press.
(the funny thing is i literally did not care about this debate at all until i saw the ask saying noah would be bullied and went "wait a minute im pretty sure i remember a line from his biography contradicting that" and here we are. further proof i am unwell about this show)

Jo's dynamics with other characters are all usually fun and engaging due to her being such an entertaining and adaptable character herself; but they can honestly be so much more interesting if people explored them a bit more?
For example, take Jo and Lightning. They have a hilarious dynamic with Jo having to deal with Lightning's stupidity and learning to manipulate his self-centeredness to her advantage. Except one thing I don't see explored enough is their similarities??
They're both overconfident athletes who are willing to do bad shit in order to win. It makes me think that Jo might’ve had a similar upbringing to him where she had to deal with the pressure of winning? Like, a cut-throat attitude doesn't just develop out of nowhere. Except whilst I think Lightning's ego developed from being constantly praised (and eventually pressured with having to live up to others' expectations), Jo might’ve been constantly belittled and underestimated (for yknow, being a girl) and she would've had to work hard to achieve recognition from others. Episode 6 pretty much confirms that she uses a false bravado and anger to cover up feelings of insecurity. I just think their possibly similar yet different upbringings and perspectives would be cool to explore.
Jo and Zoey is one of my favourite duos! They definitely should've become friends; I think they would've been a fun dynamic, and gen 2 could've used a proper female friendship. I think them both having the "Not like other girls" aspect is quite interesting?? As well as them both initially lacking actual friendships (with Zoey's lonely childhood, and Jo's... Just Jo) which is. Pretty common amongst the gen 2 girls. Huh
Zoey could've been a MUCH more interesting character (I always just use the cool epic version of her I have inside my head). Let her be weirdddd or let her be super basic and intentionally pose as "indie" to seem cool and different. Maybe she looks down on other "basic" girls to cover up how she feels insecure around them for being weird and having unconventional interests herself idk. I think the dynamic of both Zoey and Jo hating on pretty, popular girls and overcoming that is super neat. Especially since they're both something that the other hates; Zoey is a typically feminine girl and Jo is a jockette. Let them become friends and be like "okay well you aren't so bad" and then eventually stop judging other girls for being "feminine" or "basic" pleaseeeee it'd be so good. Even better: let ALL the revenge girls be friends. I just want them to be happy OKAY? Okay.
Finally, Jo and Cameron! Another duo I'm fond of. Awesome brains/brawns combination, and the whole arc of Cam standing up to her and Jo respecting him for it is absolutely peak. Jo's elimination in roti was pretty much perfect, but I also think she could've worked well in the finale. Her being a combination of brains and brawns would have encouraged Cameron to use both, which would be a neat callback to Jo's earlier line of needing to get physical in TD. (Still think she should've rooted for Cameron over the guy who insisted that she was a dude for most of the season but whatever)
I haven't really seen this take on their dynamic, but the whole thing of Cameron's development being stunted from the over-protective environment of his upbringing and Jo being toughened by the harsh environment of hers adds a fascinating layer to their relationship. Whereas Cameron was prevented from being able to properly grow up and experience things like normal teens, Jo grew up way too soon and put more focus into winning than making positive relationships and allowing herself to just be a teenage girl (I personally believe Jo got the """tough love""" treatment). Idk I just think this would be cool to delve into and see how their opposite childhoods impacted them and their core values when interacting with each other
Cameron clearly saw her as both a role model and an opponent, which is a really fun dynamic! She was a bully, yeah, but she also presented herself as someone who was always in control and knew what she was doing, so it's understandable that Cam looked up to her. She was pretty much the opposite of overprotective too, which is probably what drew Cam to her since she didn't coddle him (and instead made fun of him LMAO). And of course, Jo learned to not underestimate the tiny nerds and gave her respect in the end. Super fun and intriguing duo, and probably the only td pair I would actually compare to siblings.
So yeah basically I think we should start looking into TD relationship dynamics more because they're awesome and filled with potential. Especially Jo's because she is the best ever and if you think otherwise then you're wrong
Also have a gold star if you just read through all of that ⭐️ great work soldier

brick jo and anne maria 4 ask game :^)
Thank you for the ask :-)) everything is under the cut since the post ended up being pretty long
Brick:
Sexuality: BUTCH LESBIAN i've talked about this sooooo much but i dont care. she literally immediately read as butch to me when i saw her. i honestly can't see her any other way
Gender: trans girl!
Ship: i mean its obvious if you look at my account that i love jock an abnormal about. i like brawn too though!
Platonic ship: if she was in all stars i feel like her and courtney could have gotten along.. or maybe hated eachother idk but i think they're similar to some degree that i like to think about them as friends. her and anne maria are cute as friends too
Random headcanon: I like to think that she enjoys drawing (even outside of fashion design stuff which we know she canonically likes). whether she's good at it or not is for you to decide but i think she just does it for fun and as kind of a regulation tool in a way if she gets upset or something.. idk like it's comforting to her
General opinion: I LOVE HER!!! (obviously)
Jo:
Sexuality: again she's a butch lesbian.. i think the butch part is more of a journey for her though bc it's about a specific role and dynamic you have in a relationship and her having such a "everyone for themselves"/loner kind of mindset (i guess idk how to word it) makes it harder for her to embody that but eventually as she grows i think she gets there! and its something she likes being
Gender: cis girl
Ship: like i said. jock. I also lovelove joeather i think they could have such an interesting dynamic... i talked about it like once but i never posted it here and it would make this long post even longer so i won't unless anyone really wants to hear it but! ya.. and jomaria is cute...
Platonic ship: her and lightning!! i think they have a fun rivalry :^)) i also like her and cameron. i think even though she's kinda mean to him, under different circumstances (aka nothing competitive like td and probably after she grows as a person a little more) she would kind of take him under her wing in a way
Random headcanon: She would like faith no more I DONT CARE!! I can imagine anything
General opinion: Fav if they treated her better in canon the world would be so beautiful. she's a cutie pie and i love her so much
Anne maria:
Sexuality: femme lesbian LOL ALL MY ANSWERS FOR THIS SO FAR HAVE BEEN LESBIAN but i could see her as bi too
Gender: honestly i havent really thought about it... i guess cis girl but i'm not set in that. i could see any anne maria gender hc presented to me
Ship: jomaria of course... i don't think i really have any more for her lol
Platonic ship: again her and brick are really cute!!! obviously they have very different fashion senses but they bond over both liking fashion as a general topic. she likes doing brick's hair a lot once she grows it out more too i think. also i saw a post of someone editing her a topher as friends and i thought that was funny and honestly they would probably get along really well
General opinion: I don't have many opinions on her i like her but shes just kinda There in my head. but i think she's cool ^_^ and she has a fun design

Thots on the finalists of each season?
Island: I really liked Owen and Gwen, I thought it was a really good contrast between the guy that everybody likes and the girl that everybody hates. Also that even though they’re so different, they still regarded each other amicably. Overall 7/10, a nice start to the series.
Action: I haven’t seen action in a while, and when I did watch it, I just really wanted the season to be over so I could get to world tour. Duncan and Beth were odd choices but I don’t remember having any emotion, positive or negative, towards them. At least Chref divorce was in the finale. 4/10
World Tour: There’s a reason this season’s finale is regarded as the best overall. Putting Heather against Alejandro let her be an antihero people root for, and that’s such a good damn choice. A perfect ending to her arc, and the hatred and love both of them had for each other allowed for so much drama. 10/10, I need to rewatch it again.
ROTI: Not gonna lie, this was my favorite finale. I loved the brains vs brawn dynamic, and how nicely Cameron’s arc was ended (the iron man suit was awesome too). The only downside I got is that Lightning is my favorite character, and I didn’t like how he just turned mean in the last few episodes. I’m gonna end this paragraph here because it’s gonna turn into how much I love this finale and the challenge. 9/10
All Stars: I never watched the finale. I stopped watching all stars after sundae muddy sundae, where it stopped being funny bad and started being actually bad. Some day I’m gonna finish the season, but that day is nowhere soon. Also wtf is the point of having two characters from the same gen as the finalists of a two-gen season, that just goes against all reason. ???/10
PI: I still haven’t gotten to the finale in my most recent PI rewatch, so I’ll be going off memory for this one. I liked both Sky and Shawn, and I can’t really pick which one I think deserves to win, they both should get the money. When I saw that Dave and Jasmine were being their helpers, I thought that it was gonna be a contrast between the healthy relationship and whatever the hell Sky and Dave had going on. I wasn’t really happy that the entire episode was spent focusing on relationship drama instead of the dynamic between the finalists themselves, but at least jashawn didn’t break up. It was okay. 5/10
RR: I’m still pissed the sisters didn’t make it to the finale. The surfers were decent as I found them entertaining, but I did not care for the cadets. McArthur should’ve faced consequences for her hubris earlier, like the ice dancers. At least the best friends got medvac’d, I shudder to imagine if they ended up in the finale. 4/10
TD23: I love this finale so much. Both competitors have played so well, and were both examples of the perfect td players. Bowie did well in challenges and managed to scheme himself to the finale, and Priya knew everything about the game and made lots of allies. The only reason this isn’t a 10/10 is that there’s no Bowie ending yet. #releasethebowiecut 9/10

gym leader td headcanons (based more off the games)
gwen would be a ghost leader, her gym design would be a mini little murder mystery puzzle :)
izzy’s gimmick would be that her team would be pulled randomly from a pool of 20 or so possible mons with different probabilities of getting each one, with unique dialogue and a different persona depending on which mons were pulled that time (this is hypothetical and would be a nightmare to code im sure)
lindsay would make you go on a quest to help her with various tasks she forgot about or misunderstood, then turn out to be a surprisingly difficult fight with mainly fairies and “ugly-cute” pokemon like granbull
shawn would never be at the gym — why be in a place so predictable??? zombies could get you??? and you’d have to track him down in a nearby route. i’d imagine he uses grass pokemon but covers for weakness
tyler would ABSOLUTELY have a game show inspired fighting gym. fuck it maybe he and harold co-gym-lead as a sort of brains and brawn duo (though both are athletic in their own ways)
Yes to all of these!! They’re such fun ideas I would love to play those!

TD Revival Countdown
Day 36: Lightning – The Athletic Overachiever
If I had to pick a least favorite for the second generation, it would be Lightning. Like Lindsay, he was the dumbest of his cast, but where Lindsay’s stupidity was funny and endearing, Lightning’s stupidity was annoying.
His character started out funny in season four; him not realizing Jo was a girl until she was eliminated was probably his funniest joke. I didn’t really mind him for most of the season, but when it got down to the final four, I began to find him annoying. He started holding a petty grudge against Cameron for winning immunity in that episode, but he had no room to be throwing stones when he was the first one to break their truce they made earlier in the episode to get the shock collars off. It’s because of him that Zoey didn’t reach the finale, but it’s also because of his petty grudge that Cameron made it to the finale so that’s a double-sided trade-off I guess.
Him becoming the villain after Scott’s elimination honestly felt hollow. For this reason, I have a theory that he was originally supposed to be eliminated fifth and Jo was supposed to go to the finale with Cameron for the ultimate brain versus brawn duel, but for some reason it was changed at the last minute. Lightning suddenly gaining a petty grudge against Cameron would make more sense if it was Jo and her ongoing rivalry with Cameron they had all season. That’s just my take on the season four endgame.
Lightning’s appearance on All-Stars was thankfully quick. He was the first off his team after bragging about being the strongest and miscounting the pieces for the statue puzzle they were building. I want to say he was probably the only character whose personality that wasn’t ruined by bad writing, but they probably played up his vanity about his muscles too much.
Despite my dislike for him, I wouldn’t mind seeing Lightning compete again and feud with other athletic contestants. Obviously I wouldn’t want him in another finale, but maybe as a merge elimination like he should have been.

Defend your Ground in TDS - Tower Defense Strategy Hybrid Game
Tumblr media
TDS - Tower Defense Strategy hybrid game unleashes power in Early Access on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative team at Blockage for their creativity. Now available on Steam with 95% Positive reviews already. If you’re into strategy titles, especially those that mix things up a bit, I’ve got something to share with you. Developer Blockage has just released TDS - Tower Defense Strategy into Early Access on Linux. And this one’s got a little bit of everything for both tower defense fans and RTS enthusiasts. At its core, TDS - Tower Defense Strategy is a hybrid game that challenges you to build up your defenses. While you hold your ground and survive wave after wave of enemies. But here’s where it gets interesting: instead of just placing towers and hoping for the best, you actually control a Vessel. This is a unit that’s part tower, part fighter, and 100% essential to your survival. These Vessels are your lifeline. They can mine resources, engage in combat, and help you build up your defenses. Plus, each Vessel comes with its own set of unique towers that bring something new to the table. Due to make every match a fresh experience. The game’s design is simple but deep, with an upgrade system that lets you combine different elements in some seriously clever ways. It’s all about synergy, baby! Your towers and Vessels can work together to create combos that make your defenses even stronger.
TDS - Tower Defense Strategy Early Access Trailer
youtube
Now, here’s the fun part — TDS - Tower Defense Strategy isn’t just about brute force. Sure, you can power your way through by building the biggest, baddest towers around, but there’s more to it than that. Smart placement and tactics can get you just as far, if not further. Want to create a single, unstoppable tower? Go for it. Prefer to build an unbreakable wall of defenses? That’s an option too. And if you’re feeling extra clever, you might even find ways to beat entire areas without using towers at all! (Okay, double-check this one, but it sounds great, right?) But what’s better than outsmarting your enemies? Doing it with friends, of course! TDS - Tower Defense Strategy lets you team up with up to three other players, adding a whole new level of tactics — and let’s be honest, some hilarious moments. Whether you’re pulling off ridiculous strategies or just having a blast figuring out the best way to survive, playing with friends is where this title really shines. The game offers a range of challenges, so whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned strategist, there’s something here for you. Some areas will test your skills, and yes, it can get pretty tough. But that’s all part of the fun. Try the free Linux Demo and see for yourself. So, if you’re looking for a tactics title that’s as much about brains as it is about brawn — and even better with friends — give TDS - Tower Defense Strategy a shot. It’s available on Steam Early Access now, for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Priced at $14.93 USD / £12.44 / 14,51€ with the 15% release discount.
