My TDDUP Pairings
Marcus x Estevan
“Kitten ♥”
“Master ♥”
Chris x John
“...Fuck you limp dick.”
Jack x Rolando
“I wanna see more ♥”
Okay, first, I’m going to say YES, THAT IS THAT JOHN LOL It’s just an evil version of him. Evil John. At first I placed Rolando in the role as the MC in Chris’s route, but it got too painful to watch him act like that. When my friend jokingly told me I should’ve played as John instead, I restarted my game and did just that XD
And second, Estevan and Rolando are my pre-existing OCs. I did not create them to be paired with these people. They have their own universe that they come from with their own backstory and everything, but I just inserted them in here just for fun. In fact, Estevan and Rolando are actually boyfriends in their original universe! But let’s just pretend they never got together in this alternate universe LOL
I’m about to ramble about my characters and how I think each pairing would fare and other things, so get ready… Also, I’ll be altering the story just a little to make it fit XD
And also, Estevan and Rolando might be a little different from how I usually show them since they don’t know some of the people who’ve influenced who they are. (This mostly applies to Estevan)
Marcus x Estevan
So, Estevan is kind of young compared to Marcus. He’s 25 years old, while Marcus is 39. Not quite old enough for Marcus to be his father, but definitely old enough to be his daddy! (I’m sorry, I had to say that XD) 14 year age difference isn’t so bad, but it would probably make more sense to bump my characters’ ages up so it won’t be too silly… You’ll understand when we get to Jack and Rolando.
Marcus is 6 ft 5 in (196 cm), while Estevan is 5 ft 10 in (177 cm). It’s funny seeing Estevan be next to someone taller than him… Usually, I cap my characters’ heights at around 6 ft (183 cm) because I do not like drawing taller people, so Estevan is actually considered one of the “taller” ones XD
Funnily, Estevan and Marcus are BOTH police officers, so it must have been really awkward when they got divorced… I imagine that they both just went as normal, pretending not to be affected by what happened between them. They’re both pretty good at hiding their true emotions. Estevan being completely within reach, but not being able to be with him anymore would drive Marcus crazy. (Helping him become more obsessed??) Meanwhile, on the inside, Estevan would be a WRECK, much like the MC.. I consider Estevan to be a strong person, both physically and mentally, but he is a mess when it comes to his personal relationships… Usually, Estevan would just endure it, maybe even go along with it, if someone he loved was being crazy. (Although, I think Estevan would probably draw the line at physical abuse. But it was confirmed that Marcus never hurt the MC while they were married anyway.) Honestly, I cannot imagine a world where Estevan actually leaves the relationship just because Marcus was being possessive of him. XD Even if Marcus didn’t want Estevan to go out and hang out with friends or is picky with who he becomes friends with….. Estevan doesn’t even really have anyone he considers “friends” anyway!! XD Estevan only hangs out with people out of obligation. Estevan would much prefer to be alone. Or rather, be with his husband, in this case. So, to make it make sense, let’s go for a different angle. Let’s say Marcus wanted Estevan to quit his job as a police officer because it’s dangerous and he wants Estevan to rely on him instead. (I believe I saw the game’s creator saying Marcus does want the MC to rely on him financially.) Okay, honestly, I think Estevan would probably just quit his job and become a househusband for Marcus if Marcus really wanted that, because Estevan likes cooking and cleaning anyway LOL He likes very mundane things and very extreme things (some things he has to do on duty)… My boy is so silly… Anyway, let’s just say Estevan doesn’t want to quit his job because he’d feel useless if he wasn’t bringing any money in or maybe he’d feel like he’s betraying all that he worked for. I don’t think this would get so far that Marcus and Estevan would divorce, but it is more believable than the friend scenario LOL (I’m sorry, I don’t really know the specifics of why Marcus and the MC divorced. All we know is that Marcus was an “overbearing husband” …whatever that means!!) Anyway!! Let’s just say this is why they got divorced.
Now, I honestly can’t imagine Estevan going to get another boyfriend because of how he doesn’t usually make an effort to bring people in on a personal level. (Estevan views it as “unnecessary” and I actually think those feelings would be amplified if he got divorced from someone.) So let’s just say John was really persistent about getting with Estevan, because that’s really the only way you’re gonna be able to get with this guy LOL (John is not Estevan’s type at all though…) John was all nice to Estevan and made him feel comfortable, even when Estevan had a bad time remembering his ex-husband, Marcus… Until Marcus decides to sneak into their apartment and murder John in front of Estevan, abducting Estevan and taking him to his own house. How would Estevan handle all this? Well, Estevan would just go along with Marcus and try not to resist too much, despite how he feels about everything… He would see how unstable Marcus is and decide it’d be best not to provoke him. He’d just try to look for a way out while Marcus is gone. Fighting back isn’t really much of an option since… Well, as you can see, Marcus is a giant, even for Estevan LOL Since they’re both police officers, they likely went through the same training. Marcus also has weapons on him, so Estevan doesn’t really have the advantage here.
I think eventually Estevan would just… break down. Between seeing his boyfriend, John, get murdered in front of him and his ex-husband, Marcus, a man who he loved and eventually felt betrayed by, coming back to do all this to him, it would just kill him inside. He’d feel confused and in denial of being into the sex Marcus forces on him, but in reality, yes, he is into it!! XD Maybe he’d even start to go crazy enough that he’d encourage it… So therefore, I think Estevan WOULD fall into the mind break ending. Estevan is someone you can mold however you want as long as he likes you enough (or if you break him enough…) and I think Marcus does just that.
Now you can see why Estevan is wearing that little leather collar! It’s something special Marcus gave him!
Chris x (Evil) John
Chris is 36 years old, while John is 40. I don’t really have much to say. I just want to give their stats XD
Chris is 6 ft 1 in (185 cm), while John is 5 ft 7 in (170 cm). My first thought was, “oh god, Rolando and John are the same height…”
Now… I can’t really say much about this pairing, because none of them are even my characters. LOL If it was the normal regular John, I actually think he’d treat Chris well since he seemed really patient and understanding to the MC in Marcus’s route. Uhh, that’s all I have to say XD
Honestly, I thought John was a little ugly (a lot, actually) but after I drew him, I thought… “Well, maybe he’s not that ugly” LOL
(I’m sorry to all the John fans out there, if there are any, for slandering this good man’s name…)
The other two pairings reference an ending to their respective route, except for this one LOL I do like the ending where Chris and MC make up, just because it felt nice, even though I do not think they should ever be together because of the things they did to each other. I also like the ending where Chris calls the cops on himself… But I might draw that in another picture. So I just decided to draw one of my favorite lines in the game. See, this is why I don’t pick up the pen often, because I KNOW I will never be able to reach the exquisite 5-star chef’s kiss level of dialogue that is “Fuck you limp dick.” I’m sure Chris never recovered from the severe 3rd degree burn that that epic roast gave him.
Jack x Rolando
Jack is 50 years old, while Rolando is 22. WOW!!! Rolando is probably around the same age as Jack’s son!! You can see why I said it’d make more sense to bump Rolando’s age up, right?! XD I do like the thought of Rolando being much younger than Jack though…
Jack is 5 ft 10 in (177 cm), while Rolando is 5 ft 7 in (170 cm). Jack is the same height as Estevan! Maybe Jack is actually just an aged up Estevan… (He’s not)
So… I actually don’t think Rolando could have ever gotten to the point where he seriously doubts Jack’s fidelity. Unlike the MC in this route, Rolando is very straightforward and he doesn’t beat around the bush. He’d never stoop to spying on Jack or anything like that and he also wouldn’t wallow away in his doubts, not for long anyway. Also, Rolando is a sex-crazed man. He would not let Jack get away with not having sex with him for so long LOL
But let’s just say, yeah, Rolando has started to doubt Jack’s faithfulness. Rolando would definitely go the route of staying at home and working on his paintings. I always imagine Rolando would be a freelance artist if he wasn’t doing his… um, usual things. LOL
Rolando wakes up in the middle of the night to a noise and then he goes and finds out about the secret basement where Jack kills people and fucks their dead body! Jack knocks Rolando out and ties him up now that he knows his secret… How does Rolando react? Well, first of all, Rolando is a murderer too!! XD Or should I say “was” if I really am aging him up. Honestly, I don’t know how he wouldn’t be doing his hitman jobs since his work is directly tied to his own family, which is basically a mafia family. And he wouldn’t be able to escape it that easily… But let’s just skip all that and say it’s all behind him now. LOL Rolando wouldn’t be all that bothered that Jack is murdering people, compared to a normal person. His first thought would probably be “Is he properly hiding all the evidence?” It’s not that Rolando is okay with just murdering people carelessly like that. He’s just so… desensitized. Rolando doesn’t have that much empathy for people he doesn’t know and, honestly, he’d be more grossed out that Jack is putting his dick into rotting bodies rather than worrying about the ethical problems behind it. LOL
Rolando would see that Jack isn’t in the right state of mind at the moment, so he wouldn’t resist, due to the possibility of provoking him. When he’s put into a serious situation, Rolando takes note of his surroundings and acts accordingly. He is NOT a stupid person. If he was, he’d have been dead a long time ago. (I’m sorry, I had to say that. I’m always afraid people think that LOL)
I don’t really know what else to say, because Rolando is just a calm and collected person when he’s in serious situations. He’d be grossed out by the maggots though. If it gets Jack to fuck him silly, then Rolando would probably be willing… even if he’ll have maggots all crushed up in his ass………
(There’s a certain choice you have to make near the end to access this next part, but to be honest, I’m not sure I remember what it was. Marcus’s route is the only one I’ve replayed a million times… I need to replay Jack’s too though, because I love him so much…)
I don’t think Rolando would kill Jack. When Rolando loves someone, he’s VERY faithful to them and if he thinks something is wrong with them, then he WILL do what he thinks will help them. But… What if he doesn’t see anything wrong with what Jack is doing? Rolando is a pretty immoral person himself, so it probably wouldn’t be all that odd. (That’s probably a stretch. LOL) In fact, what if he ended up liking everything Jack was doing…? What if he wanted to see more? Well, Jack would be happy to show his husband all the kinds of things he’s into.
Moral of the story: If blood and dead bodies is what gets Jack to go hard on Rolando, then it’d still be a win in his book LOL
(Yes, I did skip some of the "gory" aspect of the relationships because… Well, I didn't really know what to say LOL)
BONUS:
Aww! These were the honeymoons their husbands took them on! How did they react? (Yes, this was taken from the creator's tumblr. :3)
(Okay, this is a little weird, because my characters actually live in a fantasy world that I made up XD)
Rolando would be surprised that Jack planned so many trips for their honeymoon! At the very least, he’d be intrigued at visiting multiple countries. He’d probably be more interested in the food than anything though! If we’re talking languages, I think Rolando would know how to speak Spanish if he lived in the real world. (This comes from my own headcanon XD) Although, I have no idea how different Latin American Spanish is from European Spanish.
Estevan would be a little reluctant to party, because he’s just not really that type of person, but he’d be easily convinced to go. He could probably even get into it as long as he downs more than a few drinks! ;p He would love the prospect of being in a different country to learn about the culture and the people there though! Estevan would probably study up on the culture and other things before going. I can imagine Estevan staring at Marcus speaking to the locals, thinking he knows what he’s doing, and then being confused why they’re looking at him like that LOL
I think John would enjoy just being alone with Chris in a nice cabin. He seems like a simple man.
Wow!! That was really long!! Thank you for reading! (I'm so sorry)

murder boy game reviews, a very normal post by fen:
boyfriend to death: a classic. kinda janky by comparison to the sequel and i dont love the boys Quite as much but that part is down to personal preference. still definitely a very important murder boy game. im love strade
boyfriend to death 2: also a classic. improves on the original in basically every way unless you just happen to prefer the cast in the original. just More Content but also everything runs smoother, there’s so much music, cool bonuses, etc. probably still my favorite game on this list. law is my favorite boy on this list 100% im in love with a weird plant man
till death do us part: the cast doesn’t stand out for me as much as the btd games, but that’s probably a biased take seeing as ive played both btds like ten times and i only played tddup once. the game definitely does some interesting things (the different mc personalities are really interesting), i just don’t find it quite as memorable? but i still enjoyed it!!! its free what am i bitching about. ALSO THERE ARE MURDER GIRLS IN THIS ONE! THAT’S IMPORTANT ellen is best girl
don’t romance me: this one is weirdly more intense than the others to me, i guess maybe because it feels almost... realistic by comparison i guess? like the guy (i dont think he has a name. so im just calling him the guy.) feels like a real guy who could exist, which makes this one hit in a different way imo. its a good contrast to the others and each playthrough is really short so its fun to just try to figure out all the endings cause there are a Lot. but yeah go into this one prepared
john doe +: mmmm this one wasn’t for me. john doe just doesn’t really have any personality besides “is obsessed with you for some reason” and all routes are basically identical except for the very end being slightly different. and it takes a weirdly long time to get through for how short it is because it’s made in rpgmaker (i think?) rather than ren’py or something similar so theres no text skip. idk, just not my thing
lover’s trophy: i really wanna give the creators for this one a bunch of money so they can make a bigger game because both boys are Really interesting and i like them a lot, i just want... more? like there are quite a few endings but the game feels unfinished in some ways. there are some menu glitches, there aren’t many CGs, etc. i want mooooore but it’s quite good as it is and well worth checking out
the price of flesh: I BOUGHT IT BUT I HAVEN’T PLAYED IT YET DON’T TELL ME ANYTHING
#no one cares kouunno#boyfriend to death#don't romance me#lover's trophy#till death do us part#i am always looking for more games for my murder boy/girl collection give me suggestions#i have dead wishes in my sights

Till Death Do Us Part
| Prologue/Chapter 1: Back in the Game | Content page |
Further information under the cut.
About
This is a comic project which might very well extend into a long-ass series. So the story picks up from His Last Vow, and takes place in an alternate universe where Moriarty’s “Miss Me” comeback didn’t happen and Sherlock actually went on the deadly, six-month mission - and obviously survived.
Feel free to treat this as a season 4 fix, though I know I’m not as clever haha. I’ll try my best to include theories and metas I’ve read, and avoid all cliches and OOC.
Just a heads-up that there will be some urban fantasy/sci-fi elements in the series. And contents in future chapters that involve triggers will be tagged.
Genre
Crime/Romance/Urban Fantasy
Relationships
Johnlock (unestablished, not so soon lol), Mystrade, Mormor (minor)
Trigger warnings
Drug abuse, mental and physical abuse, blood, character death, animal death, mental illness
I’ll resolve the problems established in the comic as best I could, and I promise you a happy ending - I’m not Mofftiss an honest person
Tags
This comic will be tagged as “tddup” and “till death do us part” on my blog for easier navigation. Enjoy :)

BTD/TDDUP: Who’s the most dangerous human character?
There is a counterpart post to this for the supernatural BTD characters already posted here if you want to check that out :P
I love the human characters in the BTD/TDDUP series. Probably a little more than the supernatural characters to be honest. When it comes to who I think is the most dangerous in regards to the public/humanity, I had to put quite a bit of thought into this. I don’t really have a ranking system for these, but the main things I thought about were body count, level of sadism, and physique/intellect.
I’m also going to be thinking about the difference here between who is actively the most dangerous vs. others who are potentially more dangerous. But the real rating will be based on who’s “actively” more dangerous.
*major spoilers below*
I’m going to do this post from LEAST dangerous to MOST dangerous (opposite of my supernatural post because while the winner there was obvious, there is more to debate here I think). Remember that these are only my personal opinion. All decisions are up for debate.
7) Chris
I think it’s easy to explain why I have Chris at the bottom of the list. He’s a sweet guy. Unlike any other the other characters in these games, he was never looking to actively harm anyone. He only snapped and seriously beat up one person. And said person was HIS abuser so…yeah it’s even a little justified here (he just takes it a little too far). There’s no indication either that Chris is quick to snap like this. It’s implied that the MC and he were married for quite some time. So he’s a rather gentle and timid guy who endured the abuse for a while. If we’re talking “actively” most dangerous, Chris is the weakest here. If we were considering his potential to be a danger to society, he doesn’t really display any strong/consistent sadistic tendencies, or a high intellect to make him a common criminal or a mastermind of any kind. I’ll give him this; he’s probably one of the physically strongest of the humans on this list. I’d say the strongest physically here are probably Chris, Lawrence (if you still count him as human), and Marcus. I don’t think his physique alone is enough to say he’d be a severe menace to society though.
6) Aria?
So we don’t learn a WHOLE lot about Aria. She doesn’t look all that intimidating. She doesn’t give me the impression that she sure works out enough to be able to take some of the guys on this list either. But between her and Chris, Aria I’d say is capable of being a lot nastier. Chris has a right to be mad when he’s beating you down, but Aria seems SO much more vile when she tortures you. Yes, she has a right to be mad as well, but I always felt more uncomfortable with Aria torturing the MC. I found myself wondering if she took it too far. I wrote a post long ago on Aria and my thoughts on her. There I go into more detail on why she makes me feel so uncomfortable (she’s actually the one character in the ENTIRE BTD/TDDUP series that made me have to take a break from the game for a bit). But while she scares ME a whole lot, I have to put her lower on this list realistically. Other than her sour relationship with the MC, I don’t really think she’s constantly tormenting other human beings in her spare time. At least not as far as I’m concerned. She’s an attorney for her main occupation, and very intelligent. So she’s definitely someone you don’t want to be on the opposing side at least. So her “active” danger level is more that she’s likely cutthroat in the judicial system, but not really offing people on the side. She does have a higher “potential” danger level though because not only COULD she possibly screw you over in the court of law to land you in jail…but apparently she has connections to HUMAN TRAFFICKERS. That.is.terrifying.
5) Marcus?
Those who have wandered around my blog tumblr for a bit know I ADORE Marcus. I think he makes a fantastic villain and a complete jerk :P He is INCREDIBLY intimidating. He’s got a strong build and police training under his belt, so good luck overtaking him. My money is actually on him being the physically strongest on this list. He IS the tallest, and has the muscle to fill out the space. I think his training could beat out Lawrence’s build (which just comes from manual labor). Chris is the only one I think who could give Marcus a run for his money (depends on Chris’s boxing skills and how well Chris keeps in shape honestly). And intellect? He’s both a good actor out in public, and calculating enough to plan a kidnapping and permanent captivity situation for his ex. Yikes! While I don’t think Marcus is a complete sadist (compared to some other BTD/TDDUP characters), he DOES show some enjoyment in tormenting the MC too. So then, why don’t I have him higher on this list? Well if this was a list for “potentially” most dangerous, Marcus would win. Can you imagine if Marcus was a full blown serial killer while working as a cop? He could cover his tracks REALLY well. He probably does cover his tracks after kidnapping the MC (AND he killed John to avoid witnesses). But the thing to remember here is that Marcus ISN’T usually an active murderer. He’s got one murder and one kidnapping under his belt, but as far as we know that’s pretty much it. He’s a good cop most of the time. He spends most of his time putting criminals away, not being one himself. The MC just makes him crazy. So “actively,” he’s not usually as dangerous as some of the other human characters. He could be more dangerous I think if people try to intervene and take the MC away from him. Otherwise, he’s on the public’s side most of the time. Like with Aria, probably will leave you alone unless you cross him.
4) Ellen?
So Ellen doesn’t have a strong build to make her impossible to fend off, and she doesn’t have any scary connections like Aria does. Plus, she’s only a college student. So why should I place her higher than people like Marcus or Aria? One word: Unstable. Oh she’s an intelligent young woman who carries on a conversation just fine. She has a lot of insight as well. But she also: Is interested in getting closer to a person she KNOWS is a serial killer AND necrophiliac, experiences catharsis by seeing others in pain, kidnaps Jack’s spouse and treats them like her pet dog, and has quite a bit of interesting ways to kill you both accidentally and intentionally. This type of behavior indicates she’s more likely to cause harm to others. The only problem is I don’t know is she’s really…done a whole lot of damage to other people at this point in time. She may be too young yet (her potential victim count simply hasn’t had a chance to climb yet). If she was willing to help Jack with his work though, something tells me she’s on the wrong track. Still, since I don’t know how often she’s gone out of her way to hurt others in her daily life, she could move up or down on this list in regards to “actively” dangerous.
3) Lawrence
So if you want to disregard the bit about Lawrence being rotted by the river and turning into a lich, Lawrence was indeed born a human. You can take him out of this list otherwise (I have him also in the supernatural post to cover my bases). Similar to Ellen, I’m placing Lawrence higher on this list because of how unstable he is. And unlike Ellen, we actually ARE given hints that the MC in BTD2 is not Lawrence’s first victim. If you’ve read my supernatural post counterpart to this, you know what I have to say about Lawrence. I’ll just cheat a little and grab from that post :P
“ He might freak out/snap at people more frequently that we realize. When he is upset too, unfortunately it’s not just that he’s letting his frustration out on whoever is standing next to him. Remember at the beginning of BTD2, how Lawrence got upset when Ren left? MC left the bar first, and Lawrence followed them OUT with the intention of beating them up. He’s dangerous. And when he kidnaps you (cuz he freaked out that he’d get in trouble for hurting you)…it’s kind of implied this isn’t the first time he’s done this. He’s not as big a sadist as the others, but sometimes he does take a little more enjoyment in cutting you up than he should if you’ve managed to send him over the edge. Not an intellectual himself, and he’s a little difficult to reason with. His physique also makes it hard to overtake him (you have to kill him when he’s sleeping).”
So yes, unstable, physical threat, small hints of sadism, and bigger body count makes Lawrence a greater danger to society.
The REAL Debate: Strade vs. Jack
If we’re talking “who’s the most dangerous to society”…of course the ones most ACTIVELY dangerous would be the serial killers. The only question is, which one is MORE dangerous? This can be a little tricky to answer. The problem is we have one serial killer who’s very straightforward and we know EXACTLY how he operates (Strade), while we have another who we hardly know anything about his methods of killing (Jack). Strade is openly charming and cheery, but takes extreme pleasure in tormenting and killing individuals he usually tricks/kidnaps from local bars. Jack is more of an enigma: You don’t know where he finds his victims, how he interacts with them, his method of killing them, and how often he kills them. We know that young Jack is pretty sadistic, but older Jack doesn’t appear to share that same level of sadism. Jack’s a big mystery overall. Both Strade and Jack seem to show no remorse in regards to what they do either. Physique, they’re…probably not too different strength wise to be honest. I don’t know their exercise routines to be able to choose one properly over the other. I’d say Jack is probably more intelligent (he at least shows his education more than Strade does). But since we don’t know how Jack operates when he’s killing, I don’t know to what extent he utilizes his intellect as a serial killer. For all we know, he could be a little more primal with his killings, and just uses his wits to cover his tracks. Who has more kills by the way either? Strade kills for a living, so he probably has a large body count considering that’s how he makes his money. Jack on the other hand lets the corpses rot away for quite a while, so I don’t know how frequently he feels the need to replace them. So how do I choose between the two of these killers then? Well there’s something I almost forgot about: longevity. We actually have CANON timelines for these guys. Strade is age 34 in BTD, and in BTD2 Ren is 2 years old than in BTD. I apologize if you haven’t played BTD2 yet but…Strade’s dead in BTD2. Gato confirmed that eventually one of his victims became too much to handle (in fact I think even one of the death endings in BTD can be taken as the canon ending that leads to BTD2- MC dies, but they’re able to take Strade out with them). So the oldest Strade ever lived to be would have been 36 at most. Jack in TDDUP is 50 years old. Young Jack in the extra scene is 25 years old. Electricpuke DID confirm that by that time at least, Jack had already killed. So he’s been a killer for a bare minimum of 25 years. Strade, I don’t know when he started killing, but let’s say maybe age 18 at the youngest (is it 18 or 19 you can go drink in bars in Canada?) So killing for 18 years possibly. Maybe he started younger, who knows. Even then, the numbers look pretty close. Just no way to really know the body count comparison between the two. Now in TDDUP, depending on your head-canon preference, Jack either gets away (I always consider the “You are alone” ending the canon one myself), or MC does successfully kill Jack. And really the only reason I think Jack gets killed is because the MC is his weakness. Strade bit off more than he could chew with his chosen victim, and Jack got caught by the one person he lets his guard down with.
Overall, I think this is a very close race, and maybe should be judged by who YOU think is the kind of person you’d hate to come across more, and who you think has killed more. For me, I think I’ll go…
2) Strade
1) Jack
Personally, I’d hate to be caught by Strade more I think, but I don’t know if Jack does any torture either. I decided to base this more off of Jack’s ability to get away with what he does for so long.
This was fun! Please do feel free to disagree though and even add your own thoughts.

Till Death Do Us Part
Just Started TDDUP by @electricpuke and I gotta tell you, what an amazing game. I loved BTD and I love this game so much as well. Chris definitely made me feel a bit sad, but the good ending made it all okay. I was very upset about Marcus killing John, but he drove me crazy and MC doesn’t seem to mind. She’s got Marcus and Munchie. Who needs sanity when you’ve got those two things? Jack was interesting, but I only had time to play one of his paths, which I did survive. I was left alone. Hoping there’s another survival ending in which we stay together.

I was in a drawing mood, so I decided to draw my OC Gale after her redesign. This is my personal tumblr so I can put it up if I want :P
Tried something different for fun. Sketched with pencil, then penned, scanned as pdf to computer, then used PhotoShop Elements and my ref sheet to fill in the blanks. Overall, I like how they came out.
Also I guess the chibi version I drew counts as the first time I drew her full-scale (feels like cheating since I can’t really do proportions right sooo went with a style where proportions are kind of skewed to begin with :P)
Also decided on her full name: Gale Fairway
I went with a name combination that doesn’t pop up in google search that’s both a plain sounding and unique last name.
Since she’s the OC I use for TDDUP with Marcus, I’m gonna jot some more notes down below for writing/character development practice. You can ignore.
This is more notes than writing and actual story here. These notes may be changed or rewritten later if I think of something more appealing.
Initially meeting Marcus/ First Impressions
Gale met Marcus in a bar. She was probably there with a friend chatting. Her friend headed off to the bathroom and a guy came over (very drunk) and tries to hit on Gale. He’s aggressive and/or unpleasant and she had a hard time getting him to leave her alone. Marcus cut in and got the guy to back off. He was a police officer at time, but just off duty. Probably flashed his badge to help get the guy to go away. Gale thanked him and Marcus offered to get her a drink. She politely declined and said she’d be leaving soon with her friend.
Marcus headed off to another end of the bar when Gale’s friend came back. Gale told her what happened. They chatted some more and her friend noted that Marcus was looking over every now and then and teased Gale that she was possibly missing out on “having some fun with a cop.” Gale was pretty inebriated at this point and admitted Marcus was hot, but figured she wasn’t up for a one-night stand that night. She was not dating anyone at the time, but didn’t really feel like she needed to get laid whenever the opportunity struck.
Gale and her friend started heading out and Marcus came over when they were outside to chat for a bit. Her friend hinted towards Gale one more time then had to take a phone call, leaving Gale and Marcus alone. Marcus got a little more forward and flirty this time, and alcohol + hot dude + cop + saved her from a guy earlier = “Oh why not, it’s just one night” for Gale.
Gale let her friend (who was ecstatic) know she’d be heading out with Marcus. Her friend left and Gale and Marcus chatted and did “other activities” that night *wiggles eyebrows*. (note: Not sure about location)
Fast forward to next morning. Gale was a little groggy from last night, but Marcus and her woke up in bed together. She tried to get up to get ready to leave, but Marcus kind of holds her back (in a safe, playful manner). Basically started teasing and smooth talking to try to get her phone #. She’s not up for the idea at first (kinda just thought it’d be a fling, and he said during the night he gets busy with work), but eventually she had other engagements to attend to, so she just gave in and quickly handed her number to him before she left.
Entering a relationship with Marcus
Funny enough, Marcus doesn’t call Gale for several days. She figured he was probably just playing around when he asked for her number and then focused on his work. She didn’t take it too much as a loss.
He did finally contact her though, and they met again over coffee. They hook up again a few days later at night and then get back to their respective work. This pattern repeats for awhile: lack of communication because of work (on both ends), meet up for hanging out or sex again, then back to work. At this point in time, Marcus is not was not being overbearing.
Marcus wasn’t actually the type of person Gale would go for when looking for a boyfriend. She tended to go for the more bookish types, maybe with a sense of humor (note: John from the game would actually be more of the type she’d usually date, meaning she tried something new with Marcus, and later went back to what she was comfortable with).
This happened enough though where they decided to actually start dating. From here on, Marcus puts in a little more effort to start texting/calling Gale more frequently. Gale found this sweet, especially because she knew how much of a workaholic he was.
Overtime, she noticed more sensitive sides of his personality as well (note: not sure if I want to make the “saved Munchie from a car engine” event before or after marriage- but Marcus should have shown SOME soft side prior to marriage).
Sex wise, Gale’s not actually the type that gets “adventurous,” but she started to open up a little more for Marcus (he could get a little “naughty”) since she really liked him.
Eventually, Gale would genuinely fall in love with Marcus and admitted to him after sex one night that she was a little afraid she wasn’t good enough for him. After all, he was attractive, confident, and had a successful career. (note: I have not decided on what Gale’s own career is at this point).
Marcus quickly held her and assured her he’d never leave her.
Extra Notes
So I’m doing this weird thing where Gale’s kind of getting developed “around” the relationship she has with Marcus. Many of her personality traits aren’t fully fleshed out with me yet. I’m seeing if it’s a little easier to come up with the story first and adjust her accordingly.
There’s a of couple traits about Marcus that are considered canon (I think) that I want to keep the same: 1) he has dated people beforehand, 2) he’s a workaholic, 3) he’s a “dirty cop” when it comes to sex :P and 4) he never physically hurt the MC prior to the kidnapping.
What I’m going for I guess is a...”slow burn” turn into a yandere for Marcus? The timeline I have no clue of honestly. I kind want Gale to have been married to Marcus for at LEAST a year (maybe more). For that to make sense though, I want to build it up to be believable why she was with him for so long. Gale met a guy who wasn’t her usual type, but fell in love with him because of his softer moments and the way he paid so much attention to her. Her own insecurity of losing Marcus at one point would be a key reason as to why she wouldn’t see certain warning signs early on.
She liked the attention he would give her at first. And even as it increased gradually, she’d just see it as him making an effort because their jobs don’t always let them be together. She gets a little blinded honestly by something “too good to be true.”
Now with Marcus I’ll be honest...I’m not EXACTLY sure in my head at what point he becomes a yandere. I don’t know if I consider him to have fell in love at first sight, but he’s a master manipulator who takes it very slow to work his way into Gale’s life completely. Or if he’s actually just a normal guy she’s dating at first because getting to know her more leads to him developing an obsession. I THINK I’m leaning towards the second. I say that because I kind of like the idea where Marcus has been with other people before without developing an obsession, and this would have just been another person he started to get along with and date, but it turns horrifying excessive later on.
It’s also too bad since I’m still fleshing out Gale, then I have no idea what Marcus likes about her :P
Otherwise, the beginning sounds like a pretty standard story opener. Nothing new or unusual. My lack of story skills prevent me from thinking about all the events in sequence. More so just key events and how the characters do or do not mesh together.

I'm the same anon who said you changed my view of Marcus but your right. as intense as he gets he has a great poker like when he pulls you over he acts like its just business. Marcus also being a yandere aside is otherwise sane and is able to function fine or seem to in his daily life. He knows you aren't a physical threat to him. between inflicting pain and healing you end up depending on him for literally any interaction. If your good you get a cat for company. he has time to spare like you...
Hello anon :) Good to see you again. I enjoy getting to talk about Marcus any chance I get. The BTD boys get so much more love since they’re more well known. I’m just worried Puke will find my posts and start to get creeped out over my obsession with one of his lesser popular characters :P
Yeah in addition to the limited captivity time you see, outside of that you just see a snippet of what he’s like on duty, a small interaction with Jason, and then if you scroll through Puke’s posts you get an idea that he loves his job and works long hours. Seems to get along with others too (like Chris) and is good at his job.
It again has to do with the limit of the game itself, as well as the fact that when you play TDDUP, you’re just getting the point of view from the MC. And from the MC’s point of view, Marcus is terrifying, even before the kidnapping (hence the nightmare and the break down MC has back at their house when they’re waiting for John). It is also creepy how MC needs Marcus now for even simple things like food. And I could see Marcus not giving MC anything to pass the time with so MC HAS to look forward to Marcus coming back to get rid of the boredom. It’d be an easy way to enforce stockholm syndrome setting in. That’s all head-canon there though.
Marcus I debate on whether he’s more patient or impatient. I guess maybe patient considering the planning he goes through and how he doesn’t mind having to “train you” to behave. It’s more like he can snap a little quickly when he’s kind of… “deeper in his delusion.” He has those moments like when he wants MC to apologize to him (it’s mentioned that he seems a little more unstable when he asks this) and he gets violent if you refuse. He’s still controlled enough not to kill the MC. He told the MC he DID think about killing them (which probably WOULD be easier than holding someone hostage for a long time), but even then he doesn’t go through with it.
Marcus is a terror to the MC (and John since he axed him off), but as far as I’m concerned I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s an upstanding citizen otherwise. He’s putting away criminals isn’t he? And let’s not forget it’s mentioned that he rescued Munchie from a car engine (awwww). Actually he never even harms the cat. That’s why I don’t consider him someone who’s a flat out sadist like Rire or Cain. He can be brutal yes, and he can get ticked off. But it’s not really the same. He’d probably start acting sweeter (while still “playing” rough) if the MC fully submits or loves him back.
It’d be so cool to see how he reacts around most other people. We get a hint from Jason that Marcus might have acted a little down after the divorce. Marcus obviously was upset and used that feeling to gain some sympathy from others, but he likely was smart enough not to show anyone just HOW obsessed he was. After all, at some point he decided he was going to take MC back by force. And if he’s an ex, he’d be an obvious suspect. So he needed to make sure people pitied him more.
And if someone’s been a good friend or even a hero, it can be hard for people to start to doubt them, even with evidence. Marcus I think pretends well even directly after the kidnapping when he’s talking to Jason. WE know what he’s talking about, but to anyone else it just sounds really sweet that this big guy has a new kitten to get over his divorce. Pets are very therapeutic after all. But perhaps this might sound too out of character of Marcus, according to Jason…
You know what’s great about Marcus too? Since he’s a cop, he’s in this position of authority where not only would he naturally be intimidating for the average joe to try to confront, but he also will KNOW how the case of his missing ex is developing. He has the opportunity to throw co-workers off the trail, even sabotage the evidence if he’s desperate to keep the MC.
Yeah, I could see that. He’s a devoted cop, and a nice guy (maybe a little macho, but people will probably take that as pride)…but he just wants one thing SO bad that he’ll put himself at risk just to have it.

TDDUP My thoughts on Marcus
Doing one of these for each of the 5 stars in TDDUP (yes, even the ladies). This is incredibly subjective, so I decided not to call this a review. Rant sounds too negative to me, it’s more a mix of gushing and analysis here. Anyways, MAJOR SPOILERS ahead because I may talk about stuff not revealed until the very end of a play through. In fact I’m probably going to talk in a way that just assumes the person reading this has completed TDDUP. Kinda like, “Oh I won’t give the whole story of this scene because you know what I’m talking about.” On to Marcus!
WARNING: This will probably be the longest post (I will be surprised if Aria or Ellen top this). Sorry about this.
Oh my gosh, I had to hold back hard not talking about Marcus first. He is my absolute favorite in this game. Why? Because I love me a good male yandere! Not just that, he’s my favorite flavor of yandere too: Tall, clean shaven, awesome tattoos, masculine, forceful, and in a position of power (a cop here). It makes him the absolute worst stalker you could possibly have. He’s a total a**hole and I love every minute of it. Is he the best made character in TDDUP? I don’t know, that’s debatable. Probably not the best judge on that myself because again, I’m being biased here based on my own tastes. If I weren’t playing favorites...I’d say maybe Jack or Ellen are more interesting, but I also just really love how straight forward Marcus is.
One of the first things you’ll notice about Marcus is he has the fewest endings of any character. I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed when I first saw this. But when I thought about it more, it started to make more sense to me. There isn’t a reason for Marcus to have a lot of endings because unlike the other characters, Marcus has complete control. In Chris’s case, he snapped after MC broke the last straw for him. In Jack’s case, MC got nosy and Jack (while remaining calm at first) was forced into a position where he had to detain you...which he never seemed to have been prepared to do. Marcus though, HE’S the one who pulled you over in your car, HE’S the one who killed John and kidnapped you, and HE’S the one who literally created a cage specifically for you in his own house.
Marcus doesn’t have a lot of endings because the MC was doomed to fail from the start. He’s a cop, so he knows how not to leave behind tracks to a crime, and he knows how to prevent people from escaping confinement. He’s smart, knows how to act in public, and there’s no way you’re going to overpower him. His goal is to keep you with him...forever. The only control you have over this situation is your actions that just determine how nice Marcus ends up treating you. And he only gets nicer if he completely breaks you. THAT’S scary. What’s more, he knows there’s nothing you can do against him, so why waste all his effort and kill you? He’s ticked off at you for leaving him and dating another, he makes that very clear, but he’d rather have you all to himself than kill you.
He’s not looking to court you at all (he probably thinks that he did that already, so he’s just trying to get things back to the way they used to be between you two), he’s looking for total submission. When you respond the way he likes, then he becomes pleasant and loving. It’s completely possible you could end up living comfortably in Marcus’s home. All you need to do, is accept the fact as the MC, that you will never see your family or friends again, that you will never see ANYONE other than Marcus again, and that you probably will never see outside of that house again (and depending on your behavior, perhaps even outside of the room you’re trapped in). Oh, and also that the most work you’re probably going to be doing is satisfying Marcus, because despite being almost 40 that guy has no off button. Better hope you can either keep up or that he’s got long work hours still.
What I like about Marcus is that there’s also a LOT of room for head canon here with his character. For example, I stated before that Marcus is the one that brings about this entire scenario. Where the MC “went wrong” really depends on when you consider Marcus’s love to have turned into obsession. If you’re optimistic, you could consider it back when you were filing the divorce. Puke mentioned in some answers that Marcus was blindsided by the divorce. Depending on how severe you believe Marcus’s possessive behavior was (or how rooted), talking it out properly with him could have solved the problem. This is if you consider the divorce to have been a trigger for his obsession (and however many months or years you were apart). If you aren’t that optimistic though, then your mistake with Marcus could have been as far back as: saying “I do” to marrying him, accepting his first date offer, to even just meeting him for the first time. You’re free to believe just how far back his obsession started. After all, all his roads lead to crazy anyway :P I don’t know where my head canon lies with him, but I think sometime before marrying him his obsession started.
There’s also a lot of ideas to play with how he treats you as he holds you captive. You know that he’ll resort to force and hurting you if you don’t do what he wants. He does drink a little it seems, so you can expand upon that. But there’s other little things like: does he ever give you anything for you to pass the time with in that room? This sounds like a weird question, but he could either try to gain your favor by providing you small things (that you can’t hurt him or yourself with) to pass the time while he’s at work. Or he could give you absolutely nothing, forcing you to be left alone with your own thoughts and to almost look forward to whenever Marcus comes home. I could easily see Marcus using this as a manipulative tactic.
I made a joke once about whether Marcus gave you anymore clothes or just leaves you naked :P Actually I could see him providing you, not any underwear, but JUST one of his shirts (a button down one) to wear if you’re short enough for it to almost be like a short dress. I totally seem him doing that because it’d look more like he owns you and he wouldn’t have much to take off when he wants to get busy :P
He could easily offer to get specific food as treats or incentives to the MC (even fast food might sound like a treat if MC hasn’t had it in a long time). Food’s great because it’s only temporary. Marcus could also occasionally let you out of the room supervised. He’d just have to close his blinds and lock all the doors and windows so no one saw MC in his house. I kinda doubt he’d ever offer to let MC outside the house for two reasons though: 1) If he’s framed MC for murder, he would not want to risk anyone recognizing you and reporting to the police and 2) Marcus is incredibly possessive and probably wouldn’t want to share you with the world anyway. If he can keep you to himself, why wouldn’t he?
I think this is pretty evident by the fact of how he brutally murdered John. Poor John! That’s the kind of man you’d want to marry. Doesn’t matter his physique, poor guy’s got a heart of gold. I actually liked that contrast how you left a very handsome and muscular man with a respectable/cool job, and started dating an overweight guy who works in information technology (Not to knock information technology here! It’s actually really useful in this day and age...just doesn’t sound as cool or courageous as a cop haha). Moral of the story: Marry someone for their personality, not their job or body. But getting back to the subject, I’d say it’s up for debate whether Marcus was caught off guard by John and just had to kill him to avoid witnesses for the kidnapping, or if Marcus purposefully went there that night to kill two birds with one stone. I lean towards the latter because he tried to kill John slowly and painfully at first.
Interestingly, I don’t consider Marcus a sadist. He IS rough, and he likes to dirty talk. But killing John I feel like was more out of a grudge than sadism. The scarring scene is pretty sadistic, but again depending on how you behave, Marcus will either be violent about it or really careful. I just consider Marcus incredibly unstable regarding the person he “loves.” It’s probably because we’ve had BTD characters who are very clearly sadistic like Strade, Rire, and Cain. Marcus isn’t nice, that’s for sure, but I think his ultimate goal is to live peacefully with MC, not to constantly torture you.
I like how Marcus’s red heart is also ONLY a bleeding heart. Again, that’s why it’s so funny to compare Jack and Marcus. Jack’s red heart feels more like a gentle love than what Marcus has towards you. I think the bleeding heart for Marcus was a good choice because it really shows that he’s taking this way too far. He probably genuinely believes he’s in love and you’re meant to be together, but it’s just all wrong. Even when he’s “falling out of love,” he still doesn’t kill you. Like I said, he’s got complete control. If you’re being too defiant, he’ll just get mad and start to treat you like a lowly pet. He’s set it up that he can take all the time he wants to train you. He knows he just has to wait for either something like stockholm syndrome to set in, or for you to become exhausted from the pain and misery so that you start obeying him to make life easier. And then Marcus’s heart would probably be back up to a bleeding heart when that happens because MC is responding the way he wants you to. Yeah I don’t think he ever completely falls out of love, just gets ticked off haha.
The first ending I got with Marcus was the one where he starts treating you worse than the cat :P I was kind of doing a mix of being defiant and obediant, just ended up with his heart too low. Made sense I guess. My favorite ending has to be the “Marcus framed you” ending. First of all, I just love the image in my head of MC tied up and gagged while Marcus looks triumphant over them, having just proved he’s pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. I’ll call that a story fetish I guess. Makes Marcus look even more devious and MC even more helpless. Also, I like this ending because MC has not lost all of their sanity. Which means...the misery gets drawn out longer. MC remains fully aware of their trapped situation.
I guess I should explain. I don’t know what people think of when they hear someone say “I like yanderes.” First off, I’ll be very clear that my love for male yanderes is only in fictional settings. They’re fun when it’s safe for you to just read or watch them in fictional media. Real life, they’d be horrifying. Basically, same rules with any horrifying/disgusting/unsettling fictional content someone looks at. Trust me, the thousands of people who have seen the “Saw” movies are not all either a) secretly wishing to put real people in those traps or b) secretly wishing to die in such a gruesome way. Have some faith in humanity :P
There is a “romance” element to yanderes I suppose. I guess it fills the “man I wish I had someone who was completely devoted to me alone,” or the “I wish I was the exception in the villain’s life” quota. And I kinda feel that way too. But really, I like the male yanderes similar to how people like Freddy Krueger, or Michael Myers, or Jason: they’re a HORROR character to me. And this particular kind of horror character is not often looking to kill the protagonist, but to control their life.
In my eyes, you’ve taken the concept of “love,” and a goal that’s honestly what most people have (finding someone to spend the rest of your life with) and turned it into something that will cause a person to shake in fear. I love that twist. I never get tired of it. You can also think of it like when you like two different genres and find they work well when you mix them together. It’s like mixing a shoujo romance with a psychological horror. Works well for me, but maybe not for other people. I guess it’s like, if you mixed carrots and honey, would you like it or hate it? All personal preference.
So I like the “Marcus framed you” ending because no matter how hard I try, I CANNOT see a yandere ever settling down in a “happy ending” with the main character. It depends on how far the yandere goes, and Marcus goes WAY off the deep end. Yandere’s just don’t make ideal love interests for rather obvious reasons. The best argument I’ve think I’ve seen is Yuno from Mirai Nikki, and I’m still torn about whether her and Yuki should have ended up together. I could see other people liking the “mind break” endings, but those aren’t my thing because I don’t actually want the MC to fully submit to someone like Marcus. He’s an awful human being XD
If I got a little creepy there, don’t worry. Next post entry I get knocked down a peg *shivers.* I did manage to find something that unsettled me in TDDUP. But that’s later.
But yeah, Marcus was a delight! He’s everything I want to see in a fictional yandere. Plus, with his extra scene, there may be a little hope for MC if a certain hot cop gets too suspicious of Marcus. Jason did show he wasn’t too sure about Marcus bouncing back so quickly. I fully approve of him being the one to rescue MC!
I actually really wonder how Marcus would act when confronted, either by MC or another cop like Jason. If they compared him to being the same as the criminals he puts away, is Marcus so crazy and unstable that he’d deny it? I guess I could see him thinking something along the lines of “he’s different.” Puke did mention that he’s generally supposed to be a good person because he’s a cop. He’s good at his job and very focused. Probably has saved lives. Really he’s just doing ONE bad thing...well two, he murdered John still in addition to keeping you captive. He might even think that because of all the good he’s done, he deserves to be with MC. Especially if he believes it’s because he’s in love with you. After all, it’s just two people’s lives he changed vs. however many he saved. Surely he can have this right? Sarcasm’s probably a low form of comedy, but oh well :P It’s dark humor here.
Man I should probably stop this now before I think of anything else. I shudder at the thought of how many typos are in here. I really just wrote whatever came to mind, haha. But thank you Puke, I really did adore Marcus. The only problem I had with this whole route...is I can’t think of a good MC design myself to put with Marcus *groans.* But that’s a personal problem XD Eventually I’ll find a design to settle on. I’m just too into male yanderes to claim if Marcus really is the best character development or story wise in TDDUP. It’s all personal preference I guess.
Man, next post will be such a blatant contrast to this one XD
