Omniverse - Another crazy Spider-Verse crossover idea I had, this time based on Ben 10
Yep, I had this idea floating around in my head for quite a bit today, in part thanks to reading up plenty about Ben 10 on the TV Tropes wiki. It got me imagining; what if we had another Spider-Verse-esque crossover, but involving the universe of Ben 10 instead?
I mean, the premise of alternate realities and timelines has been explored quite a bit in the many iterations of the franchise (like Gwen getting the Omnitrix instead of Ben or Ben's other alternate counterparts), and it got me imagining a cast line-up for the concept. The ones I thought up for the story are as follows:
Omni-Gang
Miles Morales / Spider-Man II = Alt Alan Albright / Alan Fanon (harbouring on him being a fanon counterpart to the original)
Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man = Ben A. Tennyson / Ben 10
Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman = Julie Yamamoto / Julie 30
Spider-Man Noir = Classic Cartoon Ben 10
Spider-Ham = Reboot Ben 10
Peni Parker and SP//dr = Anime Lucy Mann and Ship
Pavitr Prabhakr / Spider-Man India = India Jimmy Jones
Hobie Brown / Spider-Punk = Ultimate Ben 10,000
Margo Kess / Spider-Byte = Gwen 10
Mayday Parker = Toddler Ken Green-Tennyson
Villains (Into the Omniverse)
William "Kingpin" Fisk = Phil Billings
Aaron Davis / The Prowler = Manny Armstrong / Techadon Warrior
Olivia Octavius / Doc-Ock = Arshika Charlie Animo / Dr. Animo
Green Goblin = Sunder the Retriever
Tombstone = Fistrick
Scorpion = Vulkanus
Villains (Across/Beyond the Omniverse)
Adriano Tumino / Renaissance Vulture = Pastel Master Kundo
Jonathan Ohnn / The Spot = Albedo / Negative Ben 10
Armadillo = Ssserpent
Miles G. Morales = Alan K. Albright
Villains (Miscellaneous)
Doctor Crawdaddy = Tim Buktu (Ben 10 Reboot)
Pavitr's Hobgoblin = Trombipulor
Omni-Society
Miguel O'Hara / Spider-Man 2099 = Reboot Evil Ben 10/Alien X
Lyla = Alternate Glitch (in a Gwen form)
Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman = Molly Gunther
Ben Reilly / Scarlet Spider = Ben 23
Supporting Cast (Base Universe)
Jefferson Morales = Alt Pierce Wheels
Rio Morales = Alt Helen Wheels
Spider-Man I = Ben B. Tennyson / Ben 10
May Parker = Grandpa Max Tennyson
Mary-Jane Watson-Parker = Kai Green-Tennyson
Ganke Lee = JT
Supporting Cast (Ben A.'s universe)
Mary-Jane Watson = Kai Green
Supporting Cast (Julie's universe)
Peter Parker / The Lizard = Ben Tennyson / Zs'Skayr
Captain George Stacy = Victor Valadis
Supporting Cast (Jimmy's universe)
Gayatri Singh = Elena Valadis
Supporting Cast (Alan K.'s universe)
Rio Morales = Alt Helen Wheels
The Omnitrix is the swap-in for the radioactive spider here, and whoever finds it is the one (in)voluntarily assigned to help protect the universe from all sorts of threats, whether they wish to or not, sending their life from ordinary to extraordinary fast.
I picked Julie specifically for the role of Spider-Gwen, considering how she lost her overall touch in the series after Omniverse (and kinda because I personally shipped Ben and Julie as a kid, even with their rough spots), hence why I felt she and Alan would make a good fit for each other due to similar insecurities.
I had been thinking carefully about the roles to assign to each character I could. I originally intended Ben 23 to be the swap-in for Spider-Ham, but considering how full of himself he was before Omniverse Ben/Ben Prime came along (which is why he's in Reilly's place), I felt Reboot Ben 10, whose world is less serious than the others, could fit the role better, whilst also inheriting sympathetic traits like relating to losing someone close.
The Classic Cartoon Ben 10 isn't from the ORIGINAL storyline, but rather one based on classic cartoons from the 60s and 70s, just to avoid confusion there. Lucy Mann's genki girl approach, for one, made her a perfect fit for Peni's role here, too.
And considering Jimmy Jones is a big fan of Ben 10 in canon (and was respected for it in Ultimate Alien), I felt the naïve newcomer status could work for an alternate universe version of him from India. And as Ultimate Ben 10,000 is pretty much on top of his game (alongside being less likely to steer towards canon), he fits well for Hobie's role.
The evil reboot Ben 10, I felt, fits well for the role of Miguel, since he lost his Gwen and Max when they tried to save him, which led him down a darker path in life and required FIVE Omnitrix users to take him down. Likewise, I thought a Gwen variant of Glitch to go with him (which fits well with her sass in the series proper) fits Lyla's role as a digital assistant to a futuristic hero.
Since the four Plumbers' Helpers are of similar age, I felt that Pierce and Helen are Alan's legal guardians in Bellwood, alongside both assisting the Plumbers in protecting Earth. Manny, who has Aaron's role, is the most hot-headed of the four, but has a good heart deep down.
The reason for Alan having to inherit his Ben's role is through inheriting his Omnitrix after Ben gives him the responsibility to protect his world for him, and his compatibility with it came from the other dimension thanks to the experiments Phil's scientists were doing. As for the whole hair-sticking incident, Julie's hair was longer (as far down as her waist) before the accident, and at present, it's as long as in canon.
Max being the badass old man, no matter what universe, comes with the territory anyway, same with him being tech-savvy, which allows him to help Alan adjust to being the new hero. Kai is also commonly the girl Ben ultimately ends up marrying between universes, and JT being Alan's roomie contributes to him being the more chill between him and Cash (the glasses are a plus, too).
I also thought carefully about the rogues gallery between stories from throughout Ben 10's history, like having a female counterpart to Dr. Animo, or Ssserpent being the random villain Alan has to quickly deal with on his way back home with a cake, due to the villain's butt-monkey status in his first two appearances (he got better on the third).
Zs'Sakyr, I felt, was the best counterpart to represent The Lizard in Omniverse, since he's Ghostfreak's true self who tried possessing Ben and gaining full power over the Omnitrix. And I've kept up with the theme of altering art styles for the AU version of Master Kundo (like how Vulture was from the Renaissance, Green Impostor (Funkinverse) was from a sketchbook, and Snively (from my work, IAB!) was from a cell-shaded world).
Albedo, I thought, would be the best option available for a swap-in for Ohnn, as he became villainous through making a fake Omnitrix that made him a direct doppelganger of Ben (until a bioenergy feedback caused his appearance to shift), and since he fell into D-List villain territory, I felt he could have the biggest voyage to become an arch-enemy that Alan CAN'T ignore in general.
You guys are welcome to take all that as you will, and make up your own ideas on how things will turn out for them. See you later!

while you were saving your neck, i've been breaking mine for you
Chapter 2: Trat-ska
Kind of a lighter one, I think. Enjoy!
The second time it happened, Gwen was still pretty surprised. Sure, he’d done it before, but it wasn’t exactly a pattern yet. All the same, she still cursed herself for not anticipating it.
They had been sent to protect the princess of some planet none of them had ever heard of. She was agreeable, and the four got along well enough. And like so many missions before it, things were fine, until they suddenly weren’t.
Ben and Kevin were bickering playfully as the latter drove, and Gwen, in the backseat with the princess, felt a sense of peace wash over her. She likely would have fallen asleep if a loud noise hadn’t sounded just a few feet from the car.
Rubbing at her eyes, Gwen asked, “What was that?”
Kevin cursed. “Those stupid aliens found us.” He said nothing else, just jerked the steering wheel and began evading whatever was chasing them. Ben turned around and looked at her, eyes wide. Her heartbeat quickened, and she stared back.
“Ben,” she intoned severely, “who is chasing us?” He winced and paused before answering.
“Um, the people looking for Princess Trat-ska. They, um, they have a Techadon, too.” Great. Before she could prod her cousin for details, Kevin spoke up.
“When I stop the car, get ready to run!” Gwen tensed, startled, and her hand dashed to unbuckle her seatbelt. The car stilled, and all four occupants scrambled out, the princess in the middle. Gwen threw up a mana shield, and they all ran for cover.
The Techadon, or what Gwen assumed was probably a Techadon, as she wasn’t exactly able to turn around and look at it, kept shooting at them. She could feel her shield weakening with every blast it absorbed.
“Guys, I can’t keep this up forever!” she warned. Ben nodded, reaching for his left wrist. Kevin grabbed it before he could slap the Omnitrix.
“Tennyson, wait. That thing’s too strong.”
“Well, what do you propose we do? Try to persuade it not to kill us?” The sarcasm in Ben’s voice was scathing, and Kevin glared at him, opening his mouth to respond in kind.
“Boys!” Gwen interrupted, annoyed, “Not the time!” They both sighed, rather dramatically in Gwen’s opinion. They managed to find a small corner to hide in just before Gwen’s shield gave out.
All breathing heavily, they stood there for a moment before getting right back into business. The princess, who hadn;t said a word for quite some time, faced Ben.
“Benjamin, what are we going to do?” The fear on her face and her quivering voice tugged at Gwen’s heartstrings, and one look at Ben told her he felt the same.
Brows furrowed in worry and determination, he responded, “We’re gonna take it down.” Kevin nodded, his face a mask of solemn anger, perfect for fighting with. He grabbed the side of the building they were hiding behind, allowing the strong metal to cover his body.
Sometimes, Gwen allowed herself to be mesmerised when he did that, but now was so not the time. Her fists lit up, mana collecting around them. Ben flicked through the Omnitrix, then let his hand fall. With a flash, her cousin’s scrawny form was gone, replaced by the round, armored body of Brainstorm.
And then they were launching themselves at the Techadon and the ship hovering nearby. Gwen let the blur of the battle take hold of her as she launched projectiles and dodged strikes. She vaguely registered the sounds of Ben and Kevin doing the same.
It didn’t occur to Gwen that they’d left the princess alone until she heard the girl cry out. Gwen whipped around, eyes shaking the scene to find Trat-ska. The girl was surrounded and she looked utterly terrified.
Before Gwen could think of a plan, the aliens had moved closer, one of them holding what Gwen assumed to be a knife to her throat. Well, shit.
Gwen, Ben, and Kevin froze, all unsure of what to do to get out of this seemingly hopeless scenario. They had had one job - protect the princess - and they had failed miserably.
The alien holding Trat-ska began to bark orders at the three supposed heroes: “Don’t move, put your hands up!” They acquiesced, though it was through gritted teeth. “Now, we’re leaving here with one of you- it doesn’t have to be her.”
“Wait,” Ben interrupted, “one of us can go instead, and you’ll release her?” Gwen was beginning to see where this was headed, and she definitely didn’t like it.
“Yes,” replied Trat-ska’s captor. “Any one of you will fetch a better price than Little Miss Royalty here. Especially you, Ben Tennyson.”
“I’m flattered.” No, Ben! Her cousin could be an idiot sometimes. Quite often, actually. “Take me instead.” His voice left no room for argument from Gwen or Kevin.
The alien, who appeared to be the leader, nodded at Ben, who stepped forward. As soon as he was close enough, other aliens surrounded him. They grabbed his arms, separating them so he couldn’t reach the Omnitrix, and forced him to his knees. Trat-ska’s captor released her roughly, pushing her away. She stumbled a few steps forward before she reached Gwen, who steadied her.
The poor girl was shaking, but Gwen was too preoccupied with watching her cousin and desperately trying to come up with a plan to focus on comforting her.
The aliens began loading Ben onto the ship, Gwen and Kevin watching helplessly. That was when they made a crucial mistake.
In order to push Ben forward, the aliens let go of his arms. Ben wasn’t stupid; he immediately slammed his hand down onto the Omnitrix, which luckily seemed to be working properly. With a bright flash, Ben’s human frame was gone, Way Big’s towering silhouette taking its place.
One giant foot smashed the alien’s ship, while a massive hand ripped a large piece of metal off it, wrapping it around the aliens. Once he was sure the aliens were trapped, Ben detransformed, looking far too pleased with himself for Gwen’s liking.
She distracted herself by calling the Plumbers and telling them to come arrest the aliens. Trat-ska shakily asked if they could hide her in Plumber headquarters for a bit. Then the four of them walked back to where they’d run out of the car.
Gwen was just about to pull Ben aside and lecture him for being a world-class idiot when she was interrupted by Kevin’s distraught cry.
“My ride! Again?”

Max chromastone! Chromastones one of my favourite aliens and probably my favourite UAF alien. The concept art by the legendary Eric Canete had this vision of like a higher being creepy in nature, and even after revisions and making it animator friendly you could still see that vibe even if it was watered down
Secret of chromastone is like one of the lamest episodes ever but it couldve been awesome. Jesus chromastone is awesome, tetrax being there is awesome, petropias revival is awesome, but its all executed very badly
So i ran with the concept art and kept secret of chromastone in mind. Gave him more powers that feel godly and mythical, and also balanced it by having those powers be hard to control. Which is also inspired by how in alien force, that SEEMED to be what rhey were going for. His first appearance has ben referring to him as a “conducter” and then in the techadon debut episode he absorbs Cash’s laser and shoots it back behind him at a sign, which i dont think ben would do if he could help it
Also gave him the omnitrix on his back since only greymatter has that schtick, and also bc hiding the omnitrix fits jesus chromastone more i feel. Also gave him a cross on his back, the horizontal line representing petropia and the vertical line representing the stars aligning for Sugalite to revive the planet should it be destroyed, overall a symbol of the petrosapiens faith in their guardian and its protection

Another piece of Radgit-brand fic.
They do both look out for each other, Argit just, has his own techniques...
~~
“Benny!”
Ben really wanted to be surprised to find Argit sat on his couch, behind a locked door and windows, but unfortunately had known him too long for that. Instead all he was left with was tired aggravation as he came to stand in front of him, arms crossed. The Erinaen met his frown with a toothy smile.
“What do you need?”
“Need?” Argit put a hand to his chest, eyes wide as if he was hurt, an act he’d one hundred percent learned from Kevin. “What is this planet coming to that I can’t come visit my good friend Benny, spend some quality time together?”
“If I were Kevin maybe,” Ben said shortly. “The rest of us? Never. You want something.” For a heartbeat Argit just blinked, before his smile melted into something sharper.
“Okay,” he said, leaning back in his seat with a nonchalant shrug, “if you wanna talk business. It’s come to my attention the Plumbers around here are coming down hard on the smugglers that come through.”
“It’s getting to be a bigger problem,” Ben said suspiciously. “Something has to be done about it.”
“Mm-hm.” Argit nodded slowly. “A few of your little buddies have taken to showing up outside my place.” Ben’s face screwed up, just slightly, at the statement. Argit had to know by now that nobody was going to give him trouble, between his status in the community, small army of Techadon bots, and the whole Rooters situation, he and his business were all but untouchable. The Plumbers weren’t a threat he had to worry about anymore.
He was a little disappointed in how long it took him to put the pieces together.
“Rad’s a big name,” he said, “with a long track record, bringing him in would send a serious message.” Not enough to stop the smuggling in the Bellwood-Geilla Bohln area, but hopefully enough to slow it down some. According to his grandpa right now more people were having goods smuggled in than imported.
“True,” Argit answered with another nod that somehow worried Ben more than anything else he could’ve said. He calmly pulled out his phone and started flipping through it. “But see, there’s bigger names around here. Mine, Kev’s, yours. I hear there’s people in the Andromeda Galaxy that know your name.”
“Yeah…” Valiantly Ben resisted the urge to step back as Argit held his phone up. A short video was playing, that started with an explosion and ended with his grandpa scolding him… A million emotions shot through him like lightning as the memory of the day hit him.
“It would be real interesting,” Argit said, heedless of Ben’s sudden tension as he shoved the phone back in his pocket, “to see how two galaxies react to learning the great Ben 10 thinks the best way to stop a kidnapping is to kill the victims. Or that the Plumbers went out of their way to cover the whole mess up for their golden boy…”
“You’re blackmailing me,” Ben forced out, arms falling to his sides, “to get me to stop the Plumbers from arresting your fuck-buddy.”
“I don’t doubt he could break himself out if he needed to, or that if he couldn’t that I could, but it’d just be so much easier for everybody if it didn’t come to that, wouldn’t it?” The smile on Argit’s muzzle was sharp and slimey and Ben was sorely tempted to go for the Omnitrix.
“This is low, even for you.” Argit just tilted his head.
“Wow, somebody’s got an ego. What, everybody else I’ve thrown under the bus in my life just don’t matter?” Ben glared harder; fists clenched.
“Kevin’s gonna love to hear about this,” he said, teeth grinding as Argit laughed.
“And you aren’t worried I’ll just show this to him? Not even a little thought about what he’ll think when he sees you kill those babies without even blinking?” The thought twisted in his gut, and it must have shown on his face despite his best efforts because Argit just grinned at him and hopped off the couch.
“I do like our talks, Benny,” he said as he patted his arm on his way to the door. “You just keep your little buddies out of my nest, a’ight?”
Ben stood quiet and watched him as he left, a million thoughts running through his mind. How had Argit gotten his hands on that video? Was he really about to release it to the whole galaxy over one guy? How likely was it that Ben would lose his best friend if he ever saw it? These and more in his head, he took a deep breath, released it, and pulled out his phone.
He needed to talk work with his grandpa.

Regarding Ben x Charmcaster
I wasn't going to make this post because, truthfully, I don’t want to end up sounding like I passionately hate every pairing involving Ben, leaving him with literally no good love interests. I also know a few people (who I considered friends) who actually do ship this and claim, in their personal opinion, it is one of the best ships for Ben. Obviously, anyone has the freedom to ship whatever and whoever they want to, so I’m not here to offend people. I can’t force anyone to stop shipping anyway.
But I can bring up an argument which I haven’t seen touched on before, just for the sake of this being put out there.
My first objection towards this ship comes from the fact that Charmcaster has successfully taken Ben’s life and only resurrected him when her own spell didn't go as planned, in Ultimate Alien’s “The Enemy of my Frenemy.”
But, people have argued that she was a very powerful being who was also simultaneously going through some hardship at the time of the events of the episode. Obviously, her own loss and heartache doesn’t immediately excuse attempted murder. However, I can see how some people may relate to the feeling of being willing to sacrifice anything for a chance to have a moment with a deceased loved one again.
So, in the hypothetical possibility that this can be forgiven, wouldn't it be much worse to having willingly attempted murder again, but without personal suffering to be her saving grace?
If you think killing Ben himself wouldn't put him off of dating her, what about trying to kill his mother?
In Ultimate Alien’s “Hit ‘em Where They Live”, Charmcaster teams up with Zombozo and Vulkanus to attack Ben’s family members so that they may have a better chance at taking him down. This is caused by Ben’s recent rise to fame, which already puts the blame on him since it exposes those closest to him to dangerous criminals who clearly don’t have limits regarding how far they will go. Ben is (rightfully so) very serious about the situation in this episode because his enemies are hitting too close to home.
Charmcaster had a very big role to play in this. Her primary motivation was revenge on Gwen, as per usual. But she was directly involved in the scene where Ben’s mother is kidnapped, distracting Gwen so that Zombozo can take her out and no one would be there to stop them from getting to Ben’s mother.
Obviously she wouldn't have a reason to care about what she is doing since the Tennysons are her rivals, but Charmcaster also didn’t care that innocent loved ones will be affected by her actions. This is probably because she is supposed to fit into the “villain” role. However, as shown in “Where the Magic Happens”, and well as “The Enemy of my Frenemy”, she also has loved ones who she has lost in the past, such as her father, Spellbinder.
To aid in the potential loss of another person’s loved ones for petty revenge is very evil and can be hard to forgive.
Here is a quote from Ben, as Rath, displaying his reaction (albeit in a more aggressive manner due to being transformed into Rath at the time) when something he deeply cares for is attacked:
“You can hurt me, you can hurt the things I stand for, you can even hurt my feelings if I had any. But no one. And I mean no one. Hurts the smoothie.” (Ben/Rath, “Greetings from Techadon”)
I realize that this quote is meant to be taken in a slightly more comedic way, but in context of the character in question, being in the form of Rath only exaggerates how Ben displays what he values.
Ben has shown to be willing to sacrifice himself to save others, meaning that he prioritizes the lives of others over his own. Now imagine how much more important saving those lives would become to him when it is none other than his own mother who is in harms way. And, in potentially fatal circumstances too, mind you, since an insane zombie clown is behind all of this.
Similarly to Mr. Smoothy, Ben’s family is important to him to much greater extent. And, more specifically, he has actually been shown to highly value his parents.
I bring this up because, as I know from experience, not every kid is “good” to their parents these days. I will be the first to admit that I myself can be a terrible devil child at times.
Alien Force’s “Grounded” shows Ben having a bit of a conflict with his parents when they find out about the Omnitrix, and the way he ultimately responds to them before going to help Kevin displays his respect for them:
“I'm sorry. I love you guys, you’re awesome parents. You raised me by example. And time after time I've seen you put other people’s needs first. I can’t obey you now without disobeying everything you've ever taught me about life, the world, and responsibility.”
This carries on into Omniverse’s “O Mother Where art Thou”, where Ben is shown doing the expected, protecting his mother from what he rightfully perceives to be dangerous criminals, but also tries to spare her feelings from his distaste of her cooking. Showing that, regardless of how he may feel or how he may be affected, he would rather try to shield her from things that may harm her physically or emotionally. His mom also states that he makes her proud.
Taking this into account, even if Charmcaster was hypothetically redeemed and reformed in the future, how awkward would it be to bring home a girl who previously had helped try to kill one of those parents you are bringing her home to?

I love Rath so much. No matter what iteration, he is my favorite. Con of Rath was the first episode of Ben 10 I ever watched. So it makes sense I would make a transformation for this omnitrix.
A few changes to the base Rath, though it’s mostly cosmetic. I’m thinking his teeth will lengthen as well as his claws as he rages.
I gave him chunkier arms and a more exaggerated slouch and gave him Fasttrack’s mask because it suits him so much more.
I’m thinking this one will be called Lance.

Finally, I get the tail proportions right.
Rpijaws is one of my favorite transformations, so simple, yet so effective. By proxy it also means that there isn’t much to change when someone else transforms into him.
I gave him a breathing brace because Brainstorm having one but Ripjaws not is a missed opportunity.
