This is my character Mary Stillwell, she is an Android created in the timeline of 2103.

Mary bot20198 was an experiment to see if they could make an android more human. But 3 days after she was created, there was an explosion in the lab where she was assembled. A piece of debris landed the 'activate' button, then she was activated. not knowing what was going on she sensed danger, and fear for the first time so she ran. Her skin wasn't activated yet, but she grabbed a duffel bag full of clothes an employee left and ran for shelter.

She tried to find work, but all the jobs she applied for were meant for humans. Being turned down too many times. Finally she found a place called Kepler were all Androids, humans, and cyborgs were excepted. But she didn't last long. Mary ended up meeting a cyborg named techead, and yes they became friends however she had no emotions, the people who created her never got a chance to program emotions into her. So the friendship never got far. A couple months later she was in the slums on Kepler, there was something going seriously with her, she started malfunctioning. Knowing that her only friend techead could maybe fix her since he built Androids and fixed them, she called him and asked if he could come down unfortunately during their conversation Mary's insides overheated and her wires caught fire. Quickly her circuits were fried beyond repair, techead heard over the phone he didn't take well. Tears shed down his face, by the time he got there he saw Mary who was broken now. Mary was thrown into a wasteland full of old broken Tech, Androids, parts of ships, and scraps of metal. Somehow she turned on half of her barely

This article from the LA Times claims that you are more likely to be satisfied when you find meaning and pleasure within your job than when you soley perceive receiving a paycheck as your only reward.

In several recent studies, social scientists have zeroed in on why paychecks alone can't explain the link between work and well-being. The evidence shows that people can find meaning in seemingly insignificant jobs and that even trivial tasks make us far happier than no tasks at all. "We become very dedicated to things it would be hard to be dedicated to if we were perfectly rational," says behavioral scientist Dan Ariely, author of "The Upside of Irrationality," published in June. "It turns out you can give people lots of meaning in lots of ways, even small ones."

People consider work of just about any kind to be better than no work at all, and it improves their mental health in most cases.
