hey thanks again @im-chinese-believe-it-or-not for the WIP tag, I will continue to post WIPs whenever given the opportunity lol
Here is the start of black widow babe, which is obviously a Marvel au with nix as the winter soldier.
Babe's on a mission. He has an aspiring politician to honey trap, get information out of and then take out of play, his discretion as to what that means. It's not the first time he's ever been out in Washington DC. But he’s not being closely monitored this time. He’s already proven himself with a handful of successful missions, working with another Widow and then by himself. It's mostly been information retrieval, with a couple of assassinations, and two other honey pot operations. He's had enough field experience that they say he doesn’t need a full-time babysitter anymore.  It's enough that he gets a little leeway, anyway. He’s got cash and he hasn't taken the DC sights in all that much. What harm could it do to take an extra couple of days? All his handlers need to know is that it took longer to get the guy alone than they wanted. That happens all the time. He’s not going to take so long that they start asking more questions than that. So Babe decides to enjoy himself a little. He walks down the National Mall, looks at the monuments, and pokes around in the Museum of Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum. He gets a hot dog from a food truck. He goes to a movie, goes out to dinner, gets drinks in a bar. It’s nice. He lets himself indulge the fantasy a little. It feels like he could just be a normal American twenty-something, maybe a college kid, taking a vacation. Like he really is just Edward Heffron who grew up with his mom and dad and little sister Anna in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He takes another day, and after getting pancakes and bacon for breakfast, he wanders into the Smithsonian Museum of American History. That’s where he finds out that the Soldier has a name.  The Winter Soldier, it turns out, was called Lewis Nixon. Lewis Nixon III, if you want to get technical, and he grew up ultra-rich—and American—in the 1920s and 30s. Babe discovers this when he spots the Soldier's face smiling back out at him from one of the panels. It says he was Captain America's best friend, and that they met while training for the super soldier program where Captain America got his superpowers.  And it says Lewis Nixon died in 1945, the only one of the Howling Commandos to give his life for his country. If the Soldier died in 1945, who was it drilling hand-to-hand into Babe in the Red Room just a few weeks ago?
Aaand I'm p sure everyone is being tagged already lol but if you wanna do it, do it. I will also throw tags to my wife and bff @batmanschmatman and @toastandvegemite just in case you wanna take it to your fandom lol

Dawn Staley, the esteemed head coach of the South Carolina Gamecock's women's basketball team, has left an indelible mark on the sport. Her journey from humble beginnings to becoming a prominent figure in the league is nothing short of inspiring. Let's take a closer look at her childhood years, high school experiences, how she entered the league, and her remarkable career.
Childhood Years Born on May 4, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dawn Staley grew up in a challenging environment. Raised by her mother and grandmother in North Philadelphia's Raymond Rosen housing project - a neighborhood known for its economic hardships, Staley faced adversity from an early age. However, it was during these formative years that she developed resilience and determination that would shape her future success.
High School Years Staley attended Dobbins Technical High School where she quickly made a name for herself as an exceptional athlete. Excelling not only in basketball but also track and field and tennis, she showcased versatility and raw talent across multiple sports. As a standout point guard on the basketball court with unmatched skills and leadership qualities, Staley caught the attention of college recruiters nationwide.
Entering the League After graduating from high school in 1988 as one of Pennsylvania's most highly recruited players ever seen at that time. Dawn Staley faced numerous offers from top-tier universities across America. Ultimately choosing to attend the University of Virginia under legendary Coach Debbie Ryan was a physical decision that would set her on course for greatness.
Career in College Basketball During her time at Virginia (1998-1992), Staley became one of college basketball's most electrifying players. She led her team to three Final Four appearances (1990-1992) while earning All-American honors each year - an impressive feat indeed! Known for her exceptional ball-handling skills and court vision, Staley's ability to control the game and make her teammates better was unparalleled. Her leadership qualities were also recognized when she was named ACC Female Athlete of the Year in 1991 and 1992.
Professional Career Following her illustrious college career, Staley transitioned into professional basketball. In 1996, she joined the American Basketball League (ABL) as a member of the Richmond Rage. Her impact on the court continued to shine as she earned All-Star selections and led her team to an ABL Championship in 1997.
When the ABL folded in late 1998, Staley seamlessly transitioned to the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was selected with the ninth overall pick by the Charlotte Sting in its inaugural draft. Throughout her WNBA career, which spanned from 1999-2006, Staley played for both Charlotte and Houston Comets. Known for her tenacity on defense and play-making abilities on offense, she left an indelible mark on each team she represented.
Coaching Career After retiring as a player in 2006, Dawn Staley embarked on a new chapter of her basketball journey, coaching. She began as an assistant coach at Temple University before taking over as head coach at South Carolina in April 2008. Under her guidance, South Carolina has experienced unprecedented success. Staley has transformed South Carolina into a powerhouse program that consistently competes at the highest level. The Gamecocks have won multiple Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season championships and SEC Tournament titles under her leadership. Most notably, Staley guided South Carolina to their first-ever NCAA National Championship victory in women's basketball during the historic season of 2016-2017.
Beyond coaching at South Carolina, Dawn Staley has also made significant contributions internationally by serving as head coach for Team USA Women's Basketball since March 2017. Under her guidance, Team USA won gold medals at the 2018 FIBA World Cup and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Dawn Staley's journey from a challenging childhood to becoming a revered figure in women's basketball is a testament to her unwavering determination, resilience, and exceptional skills. As she continues to inspire both on and off the court, Staley remains an influential force in shaping the future of women's basketball for generations to come.

eight shows to get to know me. allegedly.
SHE tagged me, and I'm not gonna go full autism and make an essay about it.
Mr Robot - One of my all time favorites. It's about a drug-addled computer nerd who wants to break society. Very relatable. Also a masterclass in how to depict hacking on screen. Most of the hacks shown on the show is actually using tools that you'd use IRL to accomplish the same things.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - One of the greatest comedy shows that's ever been. Unfortunately starting to lose it in these past 2-3 seasons (the show just looks too "polished" these days imo), but the humor is very much my brand.
The Simpsons - More specifically, seasons 1 - 14. I grew up on this shit. I can still quote whole seasons because of the DVD boxsets me and my brother got and rewatched 100's of times in our formative years. 50% of my personality is made up of Simpsons quotes.
Legion - Great show that's TECHNICALLY in the Marvel universe (but it's standalone from the rest of their shit if I remember correctly). Great cinematography, story, and performances throughout. With a very satisfying conclusion. Can not recommend enough. Also, watch it on LSD if you can.
Patriot - A prime original that flied under many radars, but it is seriously great. A black comedy about a secret operative who hates his job. It will make you cry and laugh throughout. Great stuff.
The Expanse - Superb Sci-fi with realistic space battles and a great story. First season is rough because of a lack luster budget but it's seriously great. Based on one of my favorite book series.
The Wire - One of my favorite "cop shows", something that I do not enjoy watching normally but this one is great. I still rewatch it every now and then. It's a cult classic for a reason.
Hjärnkontoret (translation: The Brain Office) - This is an old public service show that was meant to educate kids about scientific stuff in Sweden, such as how the body worked and the natural sciences, that I watched when I was 7 - 10 years old. You could write in with questions and it shaped my general trajectory in life. At first it made me want to be a "scientist", but an episode about computers when I was 8 made me interested in the topics of programming and computer science, and that interest never really faded later in life. I can remember most of what the episode was about even 25+ years later. Weird how one episode of one obscure Swedish Science-education show can shape one's interests to that degree.
To pass it on I'll tag @soilv @saipng @kuukigajan @yekokataa @facebook-reality @magnusdidntwantablog and whoever else wanna join

The good and the great of printPHILLY! 2023.
Tumblr media
Yesterday I decided to check out PrintPHILLY! 2023, a print fair hosted by the Philadelphia Print Consortium. Here are some of my favorite works by artists exhibiting during the fair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kate Flake
Kate Flakes print and book practice show off some of their technical expertise of mono-printing. I absolutely loved seeing this work and spending time talking with Kate. Their practice is rooted in play and pattern making - a framework for sophisticated ways of dealing with anxiety and situation understanding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bryn Ziegler
Bryn is a current candidate at UArts Book+Print MFA program. She is interested in telling stories related to queerness, mental health, and traveling. Brynn's work shows her technical expertise in the book format, with projects arranging in so many different mediums and processes. I look forward to seeing more of her work and exploring her comic practice as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who Press'd Press
Who Press'd Press is a risograph and print ephemera publishing project located within Philadelphia. Aside from their juicy color palette, they had tons of fun books and projects for sale. My favorite work of theirs, being the "Fishtown F*ck Boi" mask. On their website there is a warning on this product claiming that "This product may cause manipulative behavior, poor manners, gaslighting, and increase the likelihood of being cancelled. Please wear at your own risk. This cigarette is NOT for smoking, just for looking cool."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maisie O'Brien
I CANNOT stop thinking about these lithographs that Maisie created. They are absolutely stunning. Maisie is also a shadow puppeteer, that I learned through their website. They are interested in exploring the shadows of objects and things, and using that as a means for building language around truth and identity of entities. Please check out Maisie's website for more of their work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oliver Stern
Oliver showed off a wide range of prints and editions ranging in technique. Their work deals with the tension and stress between internal and external experiences, often negotiating topics such as dreams, perception, and memory. I love Oliver's incredible range of techniques from linocut to intaglio etchings. This work is incredible and shows mastery and uniqueness in printmaking.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is toying with the idea of providing American renters cash aid instead of vouchers. Current vouchers only demand that tenants pay 30% of their income on rent, while the US taxpayers foot the rest of the bill. The department says it is still too difficult for would-be tenants to use these vouchers and would like to provide them with cash to use as they see fit.
Pilot programs are appearing across America. Philadelphia swapped out vouchers with cash for 300 renters across the city. Since the government is incapable of efficiently running these smaller programs, the waitlist for housing vouchers in Philadelphia overwhelmed the city to the point that it was shut down for a decade. Those in the pilot program earn under 50% of the local median income with a child under the age of 15. Not only is their portion of rent reduced to 30% of income, but the government has provided them with debit cards to cover the additional portion of rent. Technically, they can spend it however they see fit.
Housing development agencies say cash is preferable to vouchers as landlords bypass discrimination laws and are more likely to reject potential tenants who use government vouchers. If someone has a business, does it not make more sense that they would be hesitant to partner with someone who they know cannot pay? Advocates believe “red tape” items like unit inspections are causing delays. Advocates also insist that providing cash will directly will help these people move to safer neighborhoods, neighborhoods where the residents work and pay their share of taxes into the system. These people insist that everything should be done to provide for those who remain underemployed or underemployed without addressing the root problem.

Delaware: A Fertile Ground for Food and Agriculture Businesses
Delaware, the second smallest state in the United States, is making a big name in the food and agriculture sector. Despite its modest size, Delaware offers a remarkably fertile environment for food and agriculture businesses to thrive. This success can be attributed to favorable geographic conditions, supportive state policies, advanced research institutions, and a robust infrastructure. These factors create a dynamic ecosystem where food and agriculture businesses can flourish.
Tumblr media
Geographic and Climatic Advantages
Delaware's geographic location on the eastern seaboard gives it a unique advantage. The state enjoys a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, which is ideal for a wide variety of crops. The fertile soil, especially in the southern part of the state, supports the growth of vegetables, grains, and fruits. Moreover, Delaware's proximity to major urban centers like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., ensures that agricultural products have easy access to large markets.
The state's diverse microclimates allow for cultivating an array of crops and raising livestock. This diversity reduces the risk associated with agricultural production and provides multiple avenues for business ventures. The variety of products grown and produced in Delaware ranges from corn and soybeans to poultry and dairy, offering vast opportunities for food processing, distribution, and retail businesses.
Supportive State Policies and Programs
The government has consistently firmly committed to supporting the Delaware agriculture industry. The Delaware Department of Agriculture offers various programs and services to assist farmers and food producers. These include financial incentives, technical assistance, and marketing support aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Delaware's agricultural products.
One of the key initiatives is the Delaware Agricultural Lands Preservation Program, which helps to protect farmland from development and ensures that it remains available for agricultural use. This program preserves the state's rural character and provides long-term security for farming businesses.
Furthermore, Delaware has implemented policies to encourage sustainable farming practices. These policies support using environmentally friendly techniques and technologies, helping farmers reduce their ecological footprint while maintaining high productivity levels. This focus on sustainability also attracts consumers and businesses that prioritize ecologically responsible products.
Advanced Research and Innovation
Delaware is home to leading research institutions like the University of Delaware, which is pivotal in advancing agricultural science and technology. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Delaware conducts cutting-edge research in plant genetics, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. This research gives farmers and businesses the knowledge and tools they need to improve yields, enhance product quality, and reduce costs.
Robust Infrastructure and Logistics
Infrastructure is critical for the success of any agricultural enterprise, and Delaware boasts a robust network that supports the food and agriculture industry. The state's transportation infrastructure, including highways, railways, and ports, facilitates the efficient movement of goods. The Port of Wilmington, for instance, is one of the busiest ports on the East Coast and a key hub for agricultural exports.
Delaware also benefits from advanced storage and processing facilities that ensure products can be efficiently handled and distributed. The state's cold storage facilities are essential for perishable goods, helping to extend shelf life and maintain quality from farm to consumer.
Moreover, Delaware's strategic location within the Mid-Atlantic region provides easy access to major markets and distribution centers, enhancing the logistical capabilities of the top agriculture companies. This connectivity ensures that Delaware-grown products can reach consumers quickly and efficiently domestically and internationally.
Delaware's geographic advantages, supportive state policies, advanced research, robust infrastructure, and collaborative industry environment create a fertile ground for food and agriculture businesses. The state's commitment to preserving farmland, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering innovation ensures its agricultural sector remains competitive and resilient. Delaware offers a unique and promising environment for businesses looking to thrive in the food and agriculture industry.

It’s a dream for many to transition into the Footballing world in hope to become the net Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but it’s very niche to hear about someone changing their future to take up a different passion in a different sport.
We’ll be deep diving into Raull Ellam’s career so far and why he decided to change from following his Grandad’s footsteps into bodybuilding, where his family have a impressive showcase of awards.
Raull Nawaz Ellam is a 20-year-old from West Yorkshire who had history in playing in the football academies of Barnsley and Huddersfield Town. The 6ft 3 individual played a variety of positions including left winger, attacking midfielder and right back. His most recent spell in football was two years ago, where he signed for Bradford Park Avenue in ambition to break into the first team.
This didn’t go to plan, as his minutes were very limited and saw him playing most of his football for the academy. This wasn’t what Raull wanted and ultimately ended up with him changing over to bodybuilding.
How did Raull get into football?
Raull was lucky enough to be raised with many sporting figures around him, which gave him many options when deciding a sport to proceed with. His grandad, Roy Ellam had a stellar of a football career.
Starting his career off at Bradford City where he made 149 apperences scoring 12 goals, after five years with the Bantams he decided to move to fellow West Yorkshire rival Huddersfield Town where he gathered 206 appearances scoring eight goals.
Leeds United came calling for Ellam’s signature and got it, where he made 11 appearances and helped winning the Division One title before moving back to The Terriers.

At the final stages of his career, Roy moved to America to play for Philadelphia Atoms and Washington Diplomats where he faced both Pelé and Eusebio.
Raull held similar characteristics to his grandad with his height and footballing knowledge but was more of a technical player and wanted to be used higher up the pitch.
Why bodybuilding?
Raull’s mum Jeanie Ellam has a very successful career in bodybuilding and is one of the best mentors somebody could have. Jeanie won the World Amateur Body Building Association (WABBA) championships in Verona, after qualifying at the Hercules Olympia in Colchester. She didn’t just stop there either, she also won the WABBA English Grand Prix in Milton Keynes, where she won the Trained Figure class.

Following from her successful career, Jeanie now helps run Roy Ellam’s gym, located in Mirfield which is a family run gym and is extremely popular to everyone within the local area.
Raull has always had a passion for the gym, from starting consistently training from the age of 15 his love for the gym has always been the same, despite the passion of becoming professional footballer. The only thing which has changed inside the gym has been his training, switching from hybrid training (a mix of running and weightlifting to help with his stamina). His training now focuses on strength gaining and intense sessions which will optimally give him the most progression towards his goals.
How is Raull doing?
Raull left Bradford Park Avenue in March 2022 and has been committed to following his mother's footsteps since then. He now offers a PT (personal trainer) program where he focuses on improving his clients. He has also started uploading videos to TikTok.
As you can see from above, Raull’s most viewed video has over 630,000 views and over his whole account he has gathered 116,000 likes. His story and motivational TikTok's are helping inspire many, who have an ambition to get into the gym and improve their physique.
Raull runs his family gym ‘Roy Ellam’s fitness connection’ where he offers help and support to any newbies who may have a lack of confidence when attending the gym or don’t know where to get started.
What the public think
I conducted some online straw poles to see what the public thought about the transition between football and bodybuilding.
The first question which I asked was if people believed that transitioning between football and bodybuilding was a unique career change. Because of my football-based following on X these results won’t give the bodybuilding scene any justice.
Tumblr media
71.4% voted towards it being a unique change while 14.3% said it wasn’t.
My second question asked the public if they have watched or attended any bodybuilding competitions. I asked this question to try see the popularity of the sport.
Tumblr media
100% of the audience said they have never watched a bodybuilding competition.
From the previous results i wanted to see how people ranked football compared to bodybuilding in difficulty to go professional in. Like the trend with all of my previous poles football is massively in favour, with 90% of the audience voting for football being more difficult.
Tumblr media
The final post for the X audience was to see how common it would be for them to follow someone's journey into taking bodybuilding seriously.
There is some very popular Youtuber’s who document their journey and showcase what they are doing to prepare for upcoming competitions. One of these is Chris Bumstead, who has over 23 million Instagram followers and 3.6 million YouTube subscribers and is a five-time champion of Mr Olympia.
Tumblr media
60% of the audience stated that they find a bodybuilders journey not very interesting, then 40% rated it from 4-6.
Raull’s story isn’t just unique but it’s inspiring to many, taking the jump from doing something which you’ve been doing for your entire life and risking it all to proceed in something you have a passion in is something which many people will look at with admiration.
We spoke to Raull, getting his justification about his career change and what keeps him motivated everyday, we also spoke to the former World Amateur Body Building Association Championship winner Jeanie Ellam about her thoughts on his progress so far.
