Misa Takahashi

She’s half black (Jamaican) on her mother’s side and Asian on her father’s, her father left when she’s was about 2-3 and her mother remarried but she and her brother never liked him. She use to get bullied for her need like tendencies and the fact she looked different which lead her to be a crybaby, until she met Rina. And soon the rest of the Toman guys, she watched them fight and Gou and her older cousin Trevor taught her to fight. She soon snapped when the boys that bullied her targeted her again and beat the shit outta if the main one, from then on she was told never to cry again by Baji and Kazutora. She is apart of Toman and is considered a founding member alongside her best friend but she wasnt able to join at the time but was considered the “little sister” of the group by Draken. She is in a specialized division made up of only two people called “The Toman Divas” the only female centered devision in Toman, and their fight styles are not to be underestimated. She is quite smart for her age thus she got bumped up a grade in school but that never mattered to her step dad who praised her brother more for being a prodigy.

Misa is the vice captain in the two woman devision and in a romantic relationship with Keisuke Baji. Her fighting style is inspired by “Black Widow” her favorite marvel comic character.She is the twin sister of Tetta Kisaki (or Kisaki Tetta). Whether or not she’s the older or younger twin is a mystery to many. Not many people believed that Kisaki is her twin brother since they look nothing alike and because she has a different last name than him. “Takahashi” is her mother’s maiden name upon moving to japan but when it’s revealed by Kisaki that Misa is his sister many Toman members were fairly shocked. She also has a very complicated dating life (based on recent posts)

Rina (Rinnah) Matsuoka

She’s 15 and born on November 18th and stands about 5’5 1/2, her family moved to japan when her mom remarried. But don’t let her girly girl looks fool you, she’s one kick ass tomboy founding member of Toman and Misa’s best friend. She is the “Toman Divas” devision captain and she has a knack for putting other members in their places when they act insubordinate. She’s taken self defense classes since she was a child and she then was able to pair it with Misa as the fight together.

In her first appearance she looks rather masc than feminine since she doesn’t wear makeup to meetings. Her and Misa are the only two women devision in Toman and they are unstoppable together. Rina knows when and where to keep it classy and when to fight, other than that she’s an absolute tease (especially to Misa) and is always thinking about cute boys. One of which is Chifuyu who so happens to have a crush on her.

Gouske Matsuoka (Gou)

He’s about 28 in the year 2005 when the events take place, he’s Rina’s older brother and worked at S.S Motors with his best friend Shinichiro Sano. He was almost recruited to join Black Dragon under Shinichiro and was supposed to be third commander with Takeomi but placed as a leader of an other special attack unit since his fighting skills were more so unbeatable but declined his offer and rather focus on easier tasks while he was still attending school, besides he promised his late father to only protect his family with his strength. Eventually he caved and joined for a short while and he was the best fighter there was according to Shinichiro. He is very well educated on all the gangs in Japan and often informs newbies on them. After Shinichiro passed he decided to continue college and joined a swim team. He looks out for the Sano’s here and there and looks out for Misa.

When the Tenjiku battle comes he returns to Tokyo just to find out his sister and best friend have went missing and went to hell and back just to save them. He was called the “Black Panther” of Black Dragon because his fighting style was almost animalistic.

Born February 19th 1978, standing about 5’6 and considered to be the eldest member of Tenjiku but her title is the “Fiery Tactician” due to her wisdom on fighting styles and techniques. She‘a mainly known as “Roppongi’s Siren” because her looks and beautiful yet hypnotic voice lured men in before she beats them up. She is American born but her mother is Japanese and her father a former very popular rapper back in the day. But when he had Ericka after her triplet older brothers (Maeda, Zion and Ezra) the dad had to put a halt on his already growing career for a while. They moved to japan so the mom can be closer to family, as her older brothers they taught her how to fight. She had trouble fitting in because she was a foreigner but also because she has self confidence issues due to her birthmarks, little did she know each birthmark conveyed a reason to why she was so knowledgeable and compassionate. Young Kakucho has a bit of a crush on her because she was so incredibly kind to him. She is best friends with Izana’s girlfriend Ashanti.

But nonetheless she knows how to fight and one fateful day she caught the eye of Ran Haitani and his younger brother Rindou Haitani when she was beating up a guy who inappropriately touched her. Ran called out causing her to stop and crouched downward to her level and forced her to look at him with one hand and called her “beautiful yet vicious” and decided he wanted her to be his. From then on she joined them in their rule over Roppongi and followed them where ever they went, even moved in with them. She’s not really a blonde but she had her hair dyed before meeting Ran, though his charismatic personality cause a bit of hiccups in their relationship but Ran always reminded her when ever they argued that she “belongs to him” hence why she wears the other earring he wears. Though he had a change of heart after his arrest making sure he’d show her just how important she is to him.

Born June 20th 1987, 18, stands at 5’2 is the daughter of Ghanaian woman and Nigerian father, her mom passed from an illness. Her dad was a very successful businessman who often donated to charities like hospitals, foster care and more, he even took Ashanti to a foster care center. That’s when she met Izana and Kakucho, Izana seemed to like her a lot that he asked her to hang out with him so she begged her dad to drop her off often. Her dad was still suffering over his wife’s death and started becoming distant, it pained Ashanti to see this and often stayed out more. Izana was surprisingly supportive of her situation and said she can be his Queen in his new empire he was building, that was his confession to her and they started dating. She’s besties with Ericka and helps her out with her relationship with Ran. She adores fashion and is studying to be a fashion designer, when she was given the opportunity to study abroad Izana told her to go for it. And like that she left promising to call every day and said she will be back soon. Little did she know her boyfriend would be dead when she returned. On top of that she was pregnant with his child.

Tianna Williams

She’s is Misa’s cousin and the younger sister of Trevor. She’s set to be Kazutora’s girlfriend. She met him when she was visiting one summer when they were young and hadn’t seen each other for a while. And kinda lost contact when he got locked up, in the future the two of them are dating. After Kisaki’s death she comes to live with Misa and her mother alongside Trevor. In one timeline she joins Toman’s 2nd generation to take down the kanto manji gang and in the final timeline apart of Toman.

(overly-specific) STUFF THE TENJIKU BOYS DO (HCs + scenarios)

➼ We’ve all probably noticed from some manga panels that the Tenjiku boys have some awesome eyeliner game going on. How? 

(1) They could’ve really practiced to perfect it: please imagine Kakucho sitting in his room trying to draw a wing then cursing when he messes up. 

Or (2) There might be one or two guys in Tenjiku who does everyone’s eyeliner (Ran or Koko). Imagine them sitting around before the fight waiting for their turn.

➼ Shion likes to put things in his pockets only to forget they’re there. His pockets are never empty. Don’t make the mistake of searching them. 

Things the other Tenjiku boys have found in Shion’s pockets: an enemy’s tooth, unwrapped candy (with lint stuck to it), one or two coins that may or may not have a speck of blood, crumpled tissue paper, a straightened paper clip, and a packet of cheese powder. 

➼ Ran buys every issue of Vogue Japan and reads it from cover-to-cover. It’s the only thing he can finish reading. Sometimes, he cuts out some photos and sections to pin to the fashion moodboard he's got in his room like a Pinterest girl. Does this mean Ran might have a Pinterest? He does, and his boards are organized by topic.

➼ Rindou is soft for street cats. Whenever he sees one, he would stop whatever he was doing, crouch down, and make “pspsps” sounds. He pets them for what feels like forever because he wants a cat but can’t get one. (Ran said no animals in the apartment) But Ran is one of those people who hates the pet at first but ends up spending the most time with it. Just give them some time and he’ll be giving that cat whatever it wants. 

➼ Rindou, Kaku, and Mocchi go on food trips together. Kaku and Mocchi like to trick Rindou into eating something spicy or just plain weird-tasting. Rindou cusses them out but laughs with them afterwards. When Shion starts joining them, he becomes their new target. To Rindou’s disappointment, he actually ends up liking everything they give him. Unfortunately for him, Kaku and Mocchi realized that tricking Shion was not fun at all and they return to targeting Rindou. 

➼ Mucho writes detailed, constructive reviews of the restaurants and cafes he visits. He does this while also taking note of what to do and what not to do when he runs his own cafe someday. For some reason, he writes food descriptions so well and even his verbal descriptions are the same. They just make your mouth water. 

➼ Shion and Ran are the type of people who spend time looking for the perfect background music to imagine themselves making an entrance to. The difference is that it’s just Shion who actually tries to play the music. 

➼ The Tenjiku boys are in an ongoing competition on who can make Mucho smile or laugh first for each day the group is together. There's Mocchi with his bathroom humor, Shion with... himself, Ran with dad jokes, Izana with “creative” insults, Kakucho and Rindou with slapstick. None of them succeed because Mucho knows about the game and is keeping his poker face on purpose.

➼ Mucho and Ran get into deep discussions on which cafés sell the best desserts. Sometimes, you can see the two of them talking, far away from the others, appearing Very Serious but really they’re just talking about the place that makes the best Montblancs.

➼ Shion liked to prod at the fish in Izana's aquarium to watch them scatter but he stopped ever since Izana caught him. Izana threatened to cut his finger off :( The other Tenjiku boys (who have also been doing it but were never caught) overheard Izana’s threat and avoided laying a single finger on the aquarium glass since then.

I agree! I could definitely see it.

I've already said before that Shion is (imo) someone whose entire behavior screams "look at me, look at me". He canonically craves validation, being acknowledged by everyone around him both above and below him in the social ladder, and genuinely enjoys being part of Tenjiku. Along with the ongoing pattern of characters in the series not having the best family lives, that makes me think he's definitely not getting proper guidance at home.

as you stood behind the doors of your chosen wedding venue, holding the bouquet of flowers in your hands, you couldn't help but recall catching hinata's bouquet back at her and takemichi's wedding.

you remembered being perplexed as to how you were able to catch without any probability or luck based hex, then showing the bouquet you tossed to mikey afterwards, and true to your and mikey's words, gojo freaked out a little when he discovered you caught the bouquet, especially since mikey had told him in secret that he was planning on proposing to you.

it wasn't long after hinata and takemichi's wedding that mikey proposed to you. it was a little chaotic, considering how toman was a part of the surprise, as well as the other gangs you were familiar with, such as tenjiku because of izana and kakucho, black dragons because you revived shinichiro, and even brahman because of senju, but it all leads to here.

the wedding day of your dreams.

"kikufuku?"

you blinked your eyes and turned to face gojo, your beloved father, who was dressed in a suit and tie and holding out his arm for you.

"oh, right," you said before quickly wrapping your arm around his and saying, "sorry!"

gojo asked, "are you nervous?"

you shook your head, "i'm fine. i just can't believe the day has finally arrived, and i've never been happier than i am right now."

your father wasn't wearing his blindfold to present himself formally on your special day, but it did give you the opportunity to see how his crystalline blue six eyes were staring at you with tears in them and his lips trembling as he spoke to you, "i can't believe it either.."

"i haven't even walked down the aisle yet, dad," you couldn't help but smile and giggle as gojo peered down at you, wiping away tears from his glossy eyes.

"i know, but, just look at you. my precious little kikufuku, you're all grown-up now! i still remember it just like it was yesterday, when i first saw you and took care of you as my own. god, you were just a baby, and now i'm giving you away to mikey." gojo exclaimed, pursing his lips into a thin line after taking a deep breath and wiping at his tears, "but i'm happy for you, [name]. i really am and i'm sure toji and your uncle geto are just as happy too. "

"i'm sure of that too." you nodded your head in agreement.

as the doors opened, you prepared with a smile and a deep breath. everyone's attention was immediately drawn to you, the bride, the true star of today's event.

each pew was filled with familiar faces. from your older half brother megumi, family-figures from jujutsu tech like uncle nanami, auntie shoko, and utahime, each and every founding member and captains of the disbanded gangs; toman, tenjiku, black dragons, and brahman to your prettiest bridesmaids, nobara, maki, emma, hinata, yuzuha, and senju, your maid of honor, tsumiki, your older half sister, and mikey's best man, draken, of course, stood at the sides.

but at the very end of the carpet laid out for you, as your flower boys, particularly baji, chifuyu, kazutora, and takemichi, threw petals, with baji nearly tripping and the boys laughing, your eyes were on the love of your life. sano manjiro, your beloved mikey, the man you wished you could spend the rest of your life with. even if years have passed already, it still takes you back to every moment that has happened and led to this day. from the first time you saw him to how you two fell in love.

and now mikey was waiting for you at the end of the carpet, his eyes filled with love and adoration, a bright and genuine smile plastered on his face as you began to walk down the aisle towards him, your arm interwoven with gojo's as you wore the wedding gown that mitsuya made together with his suit when the piano started to play.

this was it. the day you and mikey had been waiting for. everything was perfect.

but, just as you were about to stand by mikey and have the marriage officiant let you two exchange vows, a blast ripped through the wedding venue, shaking and sweeping everyone off their feet, including you. gojo grabbed you and shielded you from falling debris from the ceiling by putting up his infinity with you in his arms, teleporting you and mikey, whom gojo immediately whisked away, somewhere safe as everyone ran.

"mikey." you worriedly embraced him, who returned your embrace in a much tighter one.

"are you two okay?!" gojo asked in concern.

"i'm okay, i'm okay." said mikey shakily as he nodded at gojo. "we're fine."

you and everyone else raised your eyes to the cursed spirit who had terrorized your wedding. your brow furrowed in scorn. it was a special curse that came with other cursed spirits. naturally, with everyone's lives on the line at the time, everyone could see them.

"shit. there's too many," draken exclaimed as he protectively drew emma behind him, whom he had previously fled to as soon as the explosion occurred. mitsuya and takemichi followed yuzuha and hinata, while takeomi and sanzu went after their sister, and megumi went after his half sister, "the last time we encountered one, it was by itself."

"so these are cursed spirits..." yuzuha gulped nervously, clutching mitsuya's hand tightly, her brow furrowed as she stared at the monstrosities before them.

"i never thought i'd see one, let alone this many in my life," senju said nervously as takeomi and sanzu stood guard in front of her.

"same here, senju.." hinata nodded slowly in agreement as she held takemichi's arm, "same.."

all of your jujutsu sorcerer family figures immediately sprung into action. nanami, maki, yuuta, and nobara prepared their cursed weapons; megumi summoned his demon dogs; yuuji, panda, and inumaki, as well as your aunts, readied and tended everyone, with the boys from toman, tenjiku, brahman, and black dragons assisting them. gojo then drew you and mikey to your feet.

you quickly turned your gaze to your bridesmaids, who were with draken, mitsuya, and takemichi, and left mikey to gojo. you sliced your hand through the air to disperse a force field to shield them with your chaos magic, but you were caught off guard and flung back by the immense raw cursed energy of the special grade curse.

"[NAME]!!" mikey, along with your bridgemaids and a few of the toman boys, yelled your name, but gojo quickly stopped him as he tried to chase you down.

"stop! you and the others don't have cursed energy," gojo explained, looking at each and every one of them solemnly, "all of you, stay back!"

"don't mind me!" you managed, lifting your head, "emma, yuzuha, hinata, senju, go with takemichi, mistuya, and draken! megumi, take tsumiki-nee with you, and dad, you take mikey!"

they all nodded and fled after you destroyed the shield you had put up for them.

the impact sent you flying straight back to one of the pews, causing you to sustain injuries and possibly shed a few blood. it didn't hurt as much, but you let out a bitter scoff as you looked at your ripped wedding gown, then towards the event, where everything was in shambles. your jujutsu family members were repelling curses left and right.

everything had been ruined.

this was utterly unacceptable.

you stood up with trembling closed fists and made a clean straight dash even with your heels on, patching up your injuries as you went. you then shot down a number of curses with red psionics of your chaos magic while simultaneously bringing everyone to safety; lifting debris and putting up force fields for their protections. while the jujutsu sorcerers and former gang members were taking action, they couldn't help but notice you, particularly mikey.

you were fighting and defending as if nothing was happening. years of honing your witchcraft abilities and powers appeared to have paid off. previously, your defenses were easily breached, and you struggled to multitask.

the fact that you were wearing a wedding gown and heels instead of your customized jujutsu uniform made your soon-to-be husband feel things. sure, you were furious that curses had ruined your wedding, and your eyes were glowing a menacing red color as you imbued your hands with red psionics and such, but your display was both frightening and alluring right now.

after dealing with the majority of the weaker curses with the help of your family, you walked down the aisle in all your glory, not towards mikey, but towards the special grade curse who had the audacity to laugh and wreak havoc. given how most cursed spirits are afraid of you, it was actually quite brave for a cursed spirit. but don't worry about it; you'll make it fear you and regret its actions.

gojo left mikey to izana and shinichiro, as well as the other guests, after assisting in escorting others to safety, and made a beeline for you to assist, but before gojo could even get close, you held your white gloved hand up.

"this one's mine," you said calmly, glancing briefly at the limitless sorcerer before returning your gaze to the cursed spirit, your messy [color] hair flying in the air and [color] eyes hardening into a glare as your chaos magic became amplified due to your emotions.

"[name]-chan's fighting that thing?" shinichiro asked, swallowing hard as he, izana, and mikey watched you from a distance, "all by herself?"

"well, she's not called the scarlet witch for nothing. [name] has exorcised countless special grade curses before, and she even resurrected you, shin-nii," izana said, "and you should know that nothing scarier than a woman scorned."

"[name]'s beating that curse's ass for sure," mikey smirked as he turned to face izana, who nodded in agreement and responded with the same confident smirk.

it was clear that mikey was falling harder for you, and his willingness to marry you soon was growing. even though your hair was a mess, with loose strands falling on your face, and your leg had become exposed due to your wedding gown ripping, you were stunning. absolutely badass. mikey adored you and he still does.

you danced without further ado. you fired abnormally large red psionic blasts at the special grade curse, who retaliated with its own cursed technique.

everyone stood there in awe as black markings appeared on the ground directly in front of you and the cursed spirit, only to scatter into a mandala pattern before rising and morphing into a cage for you two. it wasn't exactly a domain expansion, but it was a technique, and somehow the cage accelerated the curse, allowing it to dodge your red psionic blasts.

it proceeded to attack you at breakneck speed, coming from all directions within the cage, but you'd learned your lesson from being caught off guard earlier. you had projected red psionic barriers to protect yourself from harm. as the mandala pattern on the ground began to move, you engaged the curse in hand-to-hand combat. even with your torn and soot-covered wedding gown and heels, your attacks didn't falter.

the way you moved quickly and with pinpoint accuracy reminded the jujutsu sorcerers of gojo whenever he engaged in hand-to-hand combat. It was clear you learned how to fight like that from your father, and he couldn't help but smirk as he watched you, just like mikey and izana.

you stopped exchanging powerful blows with your fists and expanded the force field you has put up for yourself into an explosive red blast that collided with the cage with a tilt of your head and the curve of the edge of your lipsticked stained lips.

when it attacked you again, you effortlessly evaded it by leaping into the air and levitating before it could hit you with its explosive cursed energy. you then conjured a bright red sphere in your hands, expanding it before shooting it at the curse. instead of disintegrating, it retaliated by sending you more cursed energy. the collision of cursed energy and chaos magic sent a shockwave through the area.

you continued to pour the rest of your chaos magic into the curse's blast, but its persistence to fight you did not waver. from inside, the two of you began to levitate. you looked around for a moment and noticed the mandala pattern on the ground has vanished. instead, black tendrils shot out from the curse's back and aimed for you, but before it can reach you, your red psionics overpowered the curse, causing it to fling back and destroy the black cage it had constructed in the process.

smoke emerged from the collision of cursed energy and chaos magic. you repelled out the smoke using your red psionics. before the curse could react further, you grabbed it with your red psionics and yanked its heavily massacred curse body, which was attempting to regenerate and flee, towards you.

the special grade curse tried to attack you again with its raw cursed energy, but you siphoned it, absorbing its power into yours, causing it to thrash and shriek in pain.

"this is for ruining my wedding." you spat out bitterly, your teeth practically seething.

with that, you made a fist with your glowing red hand and the curse disintegrated, completely yet brutally exorcising the curse with your chaos magic.

as you took deep and heavy breaths to catch some air after fighting, you turned around to see mikey, his brothers, gojo, and the rest of your guests approaching you.

"[name]!!" they cried out.

you staggered toward mikey, who had caught you just as you were about to trip. you melted into his embrace, resting your head on his shoulder while he wrapped his arms tightly around you.

"are you okay?" mikey asked as he rubbed your back, "you're not hurt are you?"

"i'm fine. just a little upset that my wedding was ruined by some petty curse," you sighed, shaking your head as you frowned at your strewn surroundings, "but i'm glad all of you are safe."

"it's still your wedding day though, [name]," tsumiki exclaimed, her eyes hopeful and reassuring, "it's not over yet."

gojo agreed, smiling at you. "tsumiki's right, kikufuku."

"yeah, who cares if some cursed spirit crashed the wedding? i'm still marrying you," mikey said as he pulled away, staring at you determinedly yet with so much love and adoration, "good god, i love you. no matter what comes our way, i will choose to be with you. always."

mikey tightened his hold on your hands, "so, marry me, fushiguro [name]."

you grinned, "then, let's take it from the top."

red psionics emitted from your hands, which were intertwined with mikey's, and before anyone knew it, your chaos magic had picked up even the smallest debris and completely repaired the collateral damage done by the special grade curse and its low leveled counterparts, much like a reversed cursed technique.

you had even put everyone back in their respective seats and places from before the wedding was disrupted, as well as linking arms with gojo, holding your bouquet with mikey and the marriage officiant at the end of the carpet, and hair, makeup, and wedding gown all fixed, surprising the non-jujutsu sorcerers with your unrivaled reality warping abilities.

"heh, you never fail to impress me, kikufuku," gojo chuckled softly, peering down at his suit and tie, which looked brand new and hadn't been covered in soot earlier.

"a little bit of magic goes a long way," you smiled as you winked at gojo.

with everything in place and everyone fixed up just like you, the piano began to play, and you walked down the aisle with gojo once more, but this time there were no interruptions.

"dear friends and family, we have gathered here today to witness and celebrate not only fushiguro [name]'s victory over the special cursed spirit, but also the marriage of her and sano manjiro..."

it wasn't long before you and mikey reunited in front of the marriage officiant to exchange vows and rings, eventually picking up where you two left off. this day wasn't perfect, but everything worked out in the end and you still got your happily ever after.

one aspect about them i love

Naoto: He's the best little brother ever! His dedication in the series is immense and he is such a loving, devoted guy Hina: She is so passionate! It's actually crazy how she slapped Mikey early on in the series just because she thought he was intimidating Takemichi. Not to mention the fact she wears that clover necklace for over a decade. Hanma: His character design is super cool ✨ One of my favourites!

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

Naoto: I think in general he's understood pretty well, but he doesn't get enough credit for how well he handles the time leaping situation and only being the trigger to it. He's a wonderful brother and I will say this every day forever. Honestly, I would simply go insane if I was him Hina: She is more complex than she gets credit for and it bums me out that she's most often treated as a prize to be won! We all know she is a hero character and has moments in which she parallels Takemichi, but she also has moments that are parallel to Kisaki. She's more complex than the pure, innocent girl that she is often reduced to after the Tenjiku Arc. I think it's important to be aware of how Hinata is treated like a prop in the series and how it worsens (especially after Tenjiku). We know Kisaki sees her as a prize to be won, and when he dies, Hinata marries Takemichi in the next timeline. This makes sense, but the moment Kisaki dies, any exploration of Hinata's complexity is abruptly ended. We see no reaction from her about Kisaki's death and she has little struggles or very complex moments for the rest of the series, even though the events of her life are undoubtedly troubling and complex. Her fading to the background after Kisaki dies truly made her feel like a prize to be earned by Takemichi, as the reader is intended to simply assume they will be together forever now that the Big Bad Kisaki is dead. She belongs to Takemichi after that, so her struggles are no longer relevant and no longer shown: the reader isn't supposed to feel her non-romantic struggles matter anymore. The story sees her as a prize from all angles, unfortunately. Of course, I adore the Takemichi and Hina pairing, and them getting married is certainly what I always wanted, but I will say this again and again that the way it is presented is not something I enjoy. It'd be interesting/compelling that she was still treated this way if the narrative was aware of it, but unfortunately it's not.. Hanma: He's a really open-ended character, so idk what to say. He'll always be a time leaper to me LOL

Naoto: I don't think he had many friends as a kid because he was kind of awkward. I feel like he would have and imaginary friend. Maybe of some occult creature. Hina: She is in the school orchestra on piano and is known for her skills. She also participates in competitions for piano, which her dad makes her do. She prefers the casual atmosphere of the school music room. Hanma: He's the kind of guy who eats sour candy. He somehow likes it, lol.

Naoto: Takemichi!!!!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't really interact with anyone else Hina: I could be obvious and say Takemichi but let's be funny and say Hakkai. Her interaction with him in the anime was hilarious! Hanma: Kisaki!!! Hanma is so loyal to him and for what? What is the story of the Pierrot and the Reaper? 😭

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

Naoto: Kisaki or Mikey. These two were his main targets as a detective but they never interacted. It would have been cool to see a young, oblivious Naoto interacting with either of them. Hina: Kisaki! The man has her killed in every timeline and yet they don't have a single conversation in the main series in middle school. Hanma: Draken!!! I love their fights because they feel like equal opponents and have totally different motives and personalities. I wish they had a more developed rivalry.

Naoto: I have a headcanon that he met Kisaki once when he was maybe 10, when Hina invited him to the house on the way home. Kisaki beats him in chess so Naoto hates him LOL Hina: I think she and Yuzuha would become good friends after the Black Dragons Arc. They probably go to cafés together. Maybe they go to an arcade! Hanma: I imagine him uprooting flowers from random lawns to give to Kisaki, dropping dirt around as he carries it over to him. He does it even when Kisaki tells him to stop.

Izana finds the reader to be a very strong asset to Tenjiku, but at some point he ask where he learned to fight. And the reader tells him that his father was in the military and would force him to train, he was very strict and would punish the reader when he couldn't finish the training.

Now Izana feels bad cuz he did treat him more like a fighting machine, and does something unexpected, and shows the reader some affection, be it just a nice gesture, like bringing food, or some headpats, and the reader sucks it all up, gets really attached to Izana.

Izana has a soft spot for the boy and will not tolerate any bad behavior towards him.

I know it's a little longer, but you can shorten it if you want, I just like the idea of izana with a boy that had a military dad. You get the idea, I hope

A/n. Hi, I am very sorry, but this is as much as I was able to write before I lost my motivation and ideas. I have been wondering what i should do with this for a long time until I decided that I will post this. I love your idea but I couldn't find a way to continue this. Maybe it's because I don't like Tokyo Revengers as much as I did before or maybe it's because I prefer to write headcanons. Again, I am very sorry for disappointing you. "Y/n, huh?" A quiet whisper was heard.

Izana remember "meeting" him like it was yesterday. Maybe because it was.

He saw the (color) haired male beat up two of Tenjiku's members, who decided to bother him on his way home.

He caught his eye.

The gang leader never expected such professional fighting skills from a random guy on a street.

It was quite impressive, how quickly he was done with them. How he dodged their attacks. How he knocked them out with grocery bags still in his hands as if it was nothing. How he kept an unimpressed face when they disturbed his peace.

The (color)-head was definitely going to be useful to him. Useful to Tenjiku. And Izana Kurokawa was going to make sure he joins them.

He wasn't going to miss this opportunity, so he ordered some of his men to find information about his new prey right away. That's how he knew his name, last name and a few more details.

He even made a special folder, where he kept all the data he had on Y/n L/n. You could say he was getting obsessed. He wanted to know everything.

And what is the best way to learn more about Y/n then he already knows? Meet him in person, of course.

That's why he went to the gym where Y/n exercises the next day to hopefully meet him.

He had to. It was for his win. Or so he thought.

When he arrived, he looked around for any signs that the (color) haired man is here.

That's when he noticed.

Y/n was there, sweat dripping down his forehead, his (color) hair slightly falling onto his face and his tight shirt easily exposing his muscles.

Izana couldn't stop staring. He felt his face get warm as an unnoticeable blush spread across hiss cheeks.

He didn't think much of it as he approached his target.

"Hey!" He said as he put on a friendly expression on his face. He didn't want to seem suspicious.

"Oh, hello, is there something I can help you with?" Answered Y/n in a monotone voice. He looked at Izana raising his eyebrow.

Izana didn't know how to respond at first, he felt a bit intimidated.

"Well, yes. I was wondering if you could help me and give me some work out advice. It's new to me and I don't know what I should start with." He easily lied, eyes wandering around.

"Oh, right. For a beginner I'd recommend..."

It didn't take Izana much time to gain Y/n's trust. He may look intimidating and scary, but inside he is just a big baby.

A mottle of baby blue and white, blended to fashion the morning gray, adorned the newborn sky. Despite being early in the day, Morin was eager to figure out what to make out of this situation. She therefore met with Takemichi in search for answers

“Where are we going, exactly?” She questioned as the older boy started walking in a hurry.

“I can't seem to get a hold of Chifuyu.” He shook his head.

The girl didn’t seem to grasp his words at first, as she was occupied with figuring out how to navigate through what she could call a “vintage” phone from the year she came from. Hina was kind enough to let her borrow a spare phone in order to get in touch with her and the others at all times.

“Oi, Takemitchy!” Their attention was taken to the tall boy in the distance.

“Hm, I know that guy. Is that dad's best friend?” Morin examined his notable braided hair and the dragon tattoo on his temple.

“Yeah, it's Draken-kun!” Takemichi answered.

“Good morning.” Draken stops his tracks.

“Uh, good morning, Draken-kun!” Takemichi said.

“Who's this?” Draken asks in curiosity as he refers to the girl who looked flabbergasted. He had never seen her before, yet she seemed so familiar, he thought to himself for a while as he studied her dirty blonde hair and dark eyes.

This however gave Takemichi and Morin to share a tense glance and come up with a lie on the spot. “She's uh… my, my… cousin.” He blurted.

“Uh, hey then.” Draken spoke.

“It’s nice to meet you, Draken-kun.” She bowed.

“ I'm going to see Mikey. Wanna come with?” He turns back to Takemichi.

“Uhm, sure.” He nodded before turning to the girl. “Please wait for me here.”

“Yea sure.” Morin agreed.

And as they left her alone, Draken couldn't help but linger over the sense of familiarity with the new girl. Takemichi mentioned a male cousin, yet, this girl didn't resemble neither of the guys. She reminded him of someone else. Yet, that, he couldn't pin.

“Grandpa, wake Mikey up!” There was a hug of breakfast prepared by Emma upon the table, the same as was there every day, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She’d also invited [ Y / N ], knowing that the older girl didn’t go to school on this day of the week.

“He won’t get up. [ Y / N ], you should try.” The old man spoke from behind the newspaper.

“Me?” [ Y / N ] was just about to taste the orange juice that she had helped Emma with when she heard grandpa Sano talk to her.

“He likes you, doesn’t he? Maybe that’ll help…” She yelped at his comment, wondering whether he was aware that Mikey was arriving home late since he drove her home, or vice versa.

“Right away,” She agreed with a bow and headed for Mikey’s room.

[ Y / N ] almost forgot what she was here for when she saw the boy tangled in his sheets for the first time. He slept like a baby quite literally— with his locks weaved everywhere, mouth hung open, legs occupying the whole mattress and hands clinging onto a worn out towel.

However, somehow, seeing Mikey so peacefully plucked the girl’s heartstrings, and for a moment, she thought of letting him be and step outside instead. However, she didn’t want him waking up late and messing up his sleeping schedule any more.

“Oi, get up…” She caves in with a sigh, poking at his cheek. The gesture made Mikey pout and turn his back towards her with a soft groan. “Wake up, angel.”

Unbeknownst to her yet, Mikey’s eyes widen at the nickname, a cheeky smile painting on his face coming up with the idea of turning over and embracing [ Y / N ]’s hips in an embrace.

“Mikey…” [ Y / N ] was thankful that he couldn’t see the dumb smile on her face as he clings onto her.

“Wait, what did you call me?” Mikey asks, looking up at her.

“I’m not gonna say it again, get up.” [ Y / N ] refused with a scoff.

“No, no, say it.” He insisted.

“No. It’s lame and corny.” She rolled her eyes, attempting to remove his arm.

“[ Y / N ]!”

“Alright, it’s not cute anymore when you’re this whiny.” She sighed, successfully getting rid of his arms and then getting up.

“B!”

“What?”

“Just take the food and let’s eat here.” He asks.

“You’re so lazy. Didn’t Draken scold you about getting crumbs in here? Come on up.” She pointed out.

“I… can’t.” He yawned, sinking further under the cold sheets and taking the old, blue cloth along.

“Alright. the towel goes.” [ Y / N ] managed to take out the piece of cloth hanging just over the blankets which was enough for Mikey to jolt upwards.

“Hey!”

“Come, get it.” She waved it around and leaned against the doorframe.

“You do know how to push my buttons.” Mikey was left with no choice but to get up and ruffle the girl’s hair before taking the towel.

“About time!” Emma spoke once Mikey entered.

“Food…” Although still half-asleep, Mikey drooled at the scent of the food on the table. “Morning, Grandpa.”

“Mornin!”

“Emma… I told you to flip my sunny side up and crush it, right?” Mikey pouts when he sat down, noticing the eggs weren’t done the way he liked them.

“Why don’t you do it yourself?” Emma spat.

“Mikey, I’m here!” Outside the household, Draken speaks. Emma perked once she heard the boy’s voice, and [ Y / N ] noticed the subtle rosy tone on her cheek as she finished her plate.

“Go wait in my room, Kenchin!” Mikey yelled back.

“I met Takemichi just now, I’ll bring him along, alright?”

“Okay!”

“Thank you for breakfast, Emma. Thank you, grandpa Sano.” [ Y / N ] bowed upon finishing her meal and then turning to Mikey, “Should I accompany Takemitchy and Kenchin?”

“That’ll be nice. Thank ya!” Mikey agreed, cheeks stuffed with food.

“This is Mikey’s room.” [ Y / N ] reached the doors just in time before the two boys could enter.

“Oh, it’s in a different building.” Takemichi noticed.

“What’s up?” [ Y / N ] waved at the two.

“[ Y / N ]-chan, hi!”

“This was originally the garage where Shinichiro-kun always tinkered his bike all the time.” Draken says.

“I see.”

“Mikey and I came here and watched him work. He never got tired, I tell ya.”

“Amazing.”

“Wait till you see inside.” [ Y / N ] spoke and reached for the door, letting themselves inside the spacious area.

“Woah! Mikey’s room is so cool!” Takemichi continues to marvel at the surroundings until the owner himself joins the three.

“I only own the bed.” Voice still half-asleep, Mikey stands just behind them.

“Mikey-kun!”

“It’s still morning, don’t be loud.” He groaned.

Once they were complete, Draken immediately sat them down for the sole reason of his visit.

“I see. Kurokawa Izana. So it was him the other day.” Mikey had his arms crossed as his best friend worked on his hair behind the couch.

“You met him?” Takemichi asks.

“Yeah. [ Y / N ] and I did.”

“I mean, I was there, but I didn’t really get to talk to him.” She explained, recalling only having seen the man's back.

“Were you on a date?” Draken spoke, loud enough only for him to hear.

“Hey!” [ Y / N ] called from beside Mikey, “I said do me next.” She frowned, pointing at her hair.

“So he’s Tenjiku’s captain…” Mikey spoke.

“He was Black Dragon’s 8th Captain… and now, Tenjiku… Maybe he has a connection to Shinichiro-kun.” Draken spoke just as he finished brushing the last strands of [ Y / N ]'s hair.

“Huh?”

“Takemitchy, our discussion stays here.” He added.

“Yes.”

“Shinichiro-kun is the founder of Black Dragon.” Draken revealed.

“Uh.”

“Shouldn’t you be more surprised?” He was surprised by the boy's lack of reaction, with the three of them now eyeing him.

“Ah— No, uh, I was so shock my voice—”

“Well, anyways… the only people who know about this are me, Mikey, Baji, and [ Y / N ].” He continued.

“[ Y / N ] actually knew by herself before she met us.” Mikey mentioned.

“Yeah. My team’s older members knew Shinichiro-kun and he always invited them to friendly races.” She explained.

“Right. We decided to keep it a secret since Kazutora got in trouble with the Black Dragon.” Draken added.

“Before I confronted the 9th generation of Black Dragon, I talked to my brother.” Mikey recalled.

“So the person who corrupted Black Dragon was the 8th captain, Kurokawa Izana.” He said.

“Alright, I brought you guys tea!” Emma enters the room in the middle of their conversation.

As Emma served their cups of tea, Takemichi took this time to connect the missing pieces into this guy's identity.

“Izana Kurokawa, just, who the hell is he?” He spoke in frustration upon reaching a dead end.

“My brother.” Emma spoke casually, turning the heads of the four.

“Who?” They asked in unison.

“Like I said, he’s my brother.” She replied.

“Eh, me?”

“Come on, Mikey! I told you so many times! Because he’s also your half-brother.” Emma says. “My original name was Kurokawa and I have a brother who goes by that name!” Emma explained for what seemed like the hundredth time for her.

“Eh, really?” Mikey appeared to be confused.

“Another sibling… and a gang leader too? Damn, you Sanos grow them like weed.” While any sane person like Draken and Takemichi may find [ Y / N ]’s comment insensitive, Mikey thought otherwise and scoffed in response, while the other two yelped in shock, praying for [Y / N]’s poor soul.

“At least our gangs have leaders. You guys wanna hire Emma?” Mikey chuckled.

“HAHA, fuck you. Good one.” [Y / N] snorted, raising her arm for a hi-five with the boy.

“Are they always like this?” Takemichi scratched his head.

“What an interesting pair, right? Dark and twisted.” Draken remarked.

“Jeez, you never listen to anyone, do you!” Emma scolded her brother.

“Amen.” Draken subtly coughed.

“Ah! Now, I remember.” After a moment of reflection, Mikey spoke up.

“You liar.” Draken blurt.

“Um, Emma-chan?” Takemichi spoke up.

“Do you remember anything about Izana?” He asks.

“Not really, he left when I was only three years old.” She answered.

“I see.”

“Ah, but… I think he got along with big bro Shin really well.” She added.

“Huh?”

“With Shinichiro?” Draken asked.

“Huh, why would they be friends?”

“Hold on just a sec.” Emma excused herself before going through one of the shelves in the room.

“Tada!” She comes back with a tin box, setting it in between the circle.

“A tin?” Takemichi wondered.

“What is this?” Mikey asks.

“It turned up when we were sorting Shin's things.” Emma said, revealing the contents of the box.

“A bundle of letters written by Izana?” Takemichi was surprised upon reading the labels on the papers.

“Huh, all of these letters are from Izana?!” [ Y / N ] had the same reaction.

“Yeah, I didn't look at any of them though. but look how many there are! They must have gotten along pretty well.” Emma says.

“Gotten along? I don't know, this is kinda scary.” Draken remarked.

While all of them seemed to have been shocked or overwhelmed with the revelation, Mikey quietly went through some letters with a face of utter nonchalance.

“We'll find out. Anything?” [ Y / N ] looked up from the box

“I get it now.” Mikey's reaction puzzled them.

“I'm goin out for some air.” Without saying another word, Mikey left his room followed by the sound of his motorcycle engine revving away.

“Huh?”

“Look. Floor.” [ Y / N ] points at the discarded letter that Mikey was just holding.

“Dear Shinichiro, My head's been aching all the time recently. It hurts so much. I bet it's his fault.” Draken read upon picking up the letter. “Don't talk to me about Manjiro anymore.”

“Izana was abandoned by his family at a young age. And the first relative who came to visit him was Shinichiro-kun.” Draken points out.

“If that was the only thing he could rely on, then what would he think of Mikey?” Takemichi spoke.

“That's a good point. Izana took over the Black Dragons in Shinichiro's place.” Draken says.

“But when he heard that Shinichiro left the black dragons for Mikey to lead, how did he feel about that?” [ Y / N ] asks.

“... Envy?” Emma said.

“Yeah, he felt intense envy towards Mikey.” Draken agreed.

“Resentment.”

“Right, when the ninth generation attacked Kazutora, what if that was a plan by Izana to crush Mikey without Shinichiro finding out?” Draken says.

“What if Izana had a personal grudge against Mikey? With Shinichiro-kun gone now, he's founded tenjiku, and put his plans into motion.”

“So he can take out Mikey-kun for sure this time. So he can take out his blood-related younger brother.” Takemichi agreed.

Upon hearing this fair assumption, [ Y / N ] gets up from instinct, and takes her coat along.

“Oi, where are you going?” Draken scolded.

“Didn’t you hear him? Izana is after Mikey, right? What if they see each other?” She pointed out.

“[ Y / N ], he’ll be fine.” He sighed. “Why don’t I take you home?” Draken offered and prepared to leave.

“Eh, where's my motorcycle keys?” He wondered, patting around his empty pockets.

“Heh. Doraemon keychain?” His attention turned to [ Y / N ] when she spoke and shook the keys in her fingers.

“Oi, give it back here you kleptomaniac fuck!” He yelled as [ Y / N ] chuckled.

“Oh, here's the ring you had on last week too.” She took the jewelry from her pocket and then tossed it towards the tall boy.

“This isn't mine…” He examined the ring.

“Uh…”

“That's actually mine.” Emma tapped his arm with a shy smile.

“Oh, well, here you go.” He chuckled, letting the girl take the accessory from his hand.

“Thanks.” She smiled at him.

“Uhm, Emma, I’m just going to help [ Y / N ] get home, ‘kay? She didn't bring her car for some reason and there are really creepy dudes down the street.” He points at the door.

“Of course! I appreciate you helping my best friend.” Emma nodded, “Please drive safely.” She pulled his arm to a hug as a goodbye. And as much as he tried to conceal it, Draken smiled at the gesture as quick as it drops when he remembered that Hanagaki was still around.

“Takemichi, You probably should go too. I don’t think Mikey is coming back anytime soon.” Draken says.

“Right.” He agreed.

“Actually, can you drop me off at the old highway? I'm gonna watch a race.” [ Y / N ] yelled from the driveway before starting the motorcycle by herself.

“Fine.” Draken sighed.

“And scold her to be careful this time too.” Emma chuckled.

“I will. Comfort your brother when he comes back home, okay?” Draken reminded.

“I will.”

“What happened in there? Why did Mikey and [ Y / N ] storm out? Did they fight? Why is she leaving WITH DRAKEN?” Morin bombarded Takemichi with questions as he was left alone outside Mikey's room.

“No, they didn’t fight so calm down!” He blurt. “Uhm, well… we just discovered a family secret. Should I tell you, I mean— you're technically family, Just—” He rambled.

“Ohh, is this about… Izana?” The girl paused her steps.

“Uh, how do you know him?!” Takemichi mirrored her action.

“As soon as you said ‘family secret’, it’s the first thing that came to mind. Also, he’s quite close with mom.” She casually spoke.

“... uhm, huh?” The boy gulped.

“She may have mentioned that Izana is sort of my uncle on dad’s side. I really don’t remember how she explained it because I was still young, but that’s the point. Part of mom’s work is meeting him, a man named Kakucho, and a bunch of other business savvy men and loan sharks.” She explained.

And as she was explaining [ Y / N ] and Izana's connection in the future, Takemichi had his own reflection dating as recently as his last time leap. “That's right!”

“Huh?”

“Just before I met you here, I came back from the future.” He said.

“And?”

“I wanted to dig for information on Izana. So, I went to see Taiju-kun with Naoto.”

“Mhm.”

“Things got pretty messy, and we ended up getting shot by Kisaki and Kakucho.”

“Just as I was losing consciousness, I saw Kakucho and Izana get in a car. I was pretty sure it was [ Y / N ]’s. It’s the fast one she drives around in races— the red one. That makes me ninety-nine percent sure. I just didn’t have the time to take it in. I needed Naoto by then.” He recalled.

“Holy shit.” Morin exclaimed, having found out that [ Y / N ] just may have been an accomplice to his murder.

“What does she do for a living, anyways?” Takemichi questioned.

“She’s always at racing tournaments. Like those F1 drivers. Then she owns racing stadiums and motors stores. Although, there’s one restaurant too. It makes me curious why build something so different.” She replied.

“Seems promising.” He nodded.

“But… There are occasional nights when she comes home late or in the morning. She says she’s just overlooking the businesses she owns but, I really don’t know. She’s friends with lots of shady people. I didn’t realize that until recently.” She added.

“That’s bad.”

“I can’t believe it. Does she have something to do with you getting killed?” She blurted.

“I doubt that. I really do. Izana did that because of his own personal reasons.”

“And what exactly is that? Dad’s death, right? That’s pretty personal for mom too.” Morin pointed out.

“Damnit.” Takemichi cursed.

“But, you're right. I doubt mom was involved too.” She sighed, getting up from the pavement they sat on.

“Hm?” He followed shortly.

“She spoke very highly of you…” Morin says.

“Is that… How you know about me?”

“Yeah. Photos have huge sentimental value for her too. Basically, just looking through them, it’s like I am there with you guys!” She recalled. “I just can’t believe it’s… literally possible. I’m living your lives right now.”

“I’m sorry, Morin.” Takemichi says.

“Hm?”

“This— time leaping, I’ve tried and failed. Sometimes, it's impossible to know who to trust. That’s why I didn’t let you come with us. We spoke about pretty top-secret shit in there! But, you seem to know about it already. Of course you do.” He rambled.

“I see.” She nodded.

“Please don’t kick drop me again!”

“No, I understand.” She nodded.

“Damnit. [ Y / N ] was there when Mikey met Izana.” Takemichi clicked his tongue. “Tsk. I have to make sure they don’t cross paths ever again. Whatever business she’s in in the future, it’s shady. She could be a higher-up in Toman or something…” He says.

“What if… she replaced Mikey?” Morin spoke.

“That’s… very likely. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. That’s already happened. We are here to end this sibling fight.” Takemichi nodded.

“Well, damn.” They both sighed.

“Right. Actually, I’m glad you left me here. Look what I stole from a thug while you were having a tea party there.” Morin headed to a nearby parked motorcycle and kicked its stand.

“Eh?” Takemichi blurted in surprise.

“Pretty cool, huh? Almost as cool as Toman’s motorcycles…” She laughed, pushing the vehicle’s button-powered start engine.

“You really are [ Y / N ]’s kid…” Takemichi shook his head.

“I thought mom doesn’t do motorcycles?” She tilted her head in curiosity.

“Yeah that’s Mikey-kun’s thing. But she has a reputation for grand theft auto.” He explained.

“So, where to?” Morin mounted the motorcycle, while Takemichi occupied the seat behind.

“Chifuyu’s place.” He spoke.

“No idea where and who that is.” She chuckled.

“That's sad. Right, I’ll show you.” He nodded. “Wait, if [ Y / N ] can't drive a motorcycle for shit, how did you learn to use one?”

“If I take after mom's habits, I get my dad's looks and old stuff!” She implied, raising the key to Mikey's CB250T.

If there's an upside to free falling, it's the chance you give your friends to catch you. It's true, we find out who our friends really are when we really need them the most. Friends are the people who will bring out the best in you, as well as be the people who will bring you out the darkest of places.

Even the unexpected ones you meet along the way.

I'm sorry but I think there's a mistake, regarding the previous statement from the other anon.

Izana is NOT related to Shin and Mikey, nor Emma, it's clearly stated in chapter 177; he's the son of Karen's (Emma's mom) ex husband and an unnamed Filipino women. When he died, Karen had basically to raise Izana on her own and later she had Emma with Makoto (Mikey and Shin's dad).

The fact he had no biological bond with Shin, that's the straw that breaks the camel's back in his relationship with him.

While I agree Shin tried his best with Izana and for him it didn't matter they were biologically related, for Izana it meant a lot because for all his life, he always believed he had someone he could call family. The tragedy of Izana is that he had it: Shin cared for him like a brother, it didn't matter that they weren't actually related (sure, maybe Shin could have acted differently, but he was so young himself, and he was forced in a parental figure situation when he was too young), and wanted to introduce him to Mikey (and Emma, since they already spend the first years of their childhood together with Karen) and he had Tenjiku, thay he believed were loyal to him out of fear but, as per. the character book, S-62 Generation + Kakucho really cared about him

Yeah it's ok there's no mistake, I'm pretty sure the ask was pointing out when Shinichiro first met Izana/ first heard about him and at that point he probably didn't know he was blood related to Izana. It's not stated but we can assume Shinichiro heard about it from Emma who would've just said "he's my brother" so Shinichiro at that point would've assumed Izana was another blood relative, another example of his father further cheating on his mother. But instead of getting upset or angry about that he decided to bring Izana into his life.

Now we know Shinichiro does find out at some point that Izana is not blood related but it's never stated when that happens. (Personally I like to hc that he was looking into Izana's family for adoption purposes but that's only a hc). We know it never changes his behaviour towards Izana or feelings though because blood relation doesn't matter to Shinichiro.

i know that tenjiku is full of big scary men™️ but i love imagining them in silly lil scenarios, being regular teenage boys + young adults hehe

anyways some selfship lore below!! headcanons about how shion & tenjiku saved dice’s play during their 3rd year of high school!!

in my third year of high school, i was tasked with directing the school musical— a production of the disney film mulan. everything was going well until a week before opening night; all of my actors caught a stomach bug and were unable to perform in the play.

naturally i start tweaking TF out. shit out of luck, i enlist the help of shion, my best friend who was my classmate since middle school until he dropped out in our second year of high school. he promised me that he could get me great actors quickly, and i took his word for it.

well, he lied. the “great actors” in reference were his gangmates— the tenjiku boys. now i’m even more stressed because it’s a week before the first show and i have to teach these boys with NO acting experience all their lines, choreography, and lyrics. still, i decide to take a chance on them; maybe they’ll surprise me?

they did surprise me, because they were worse than i had imagined. they kept forgetting their lines even after i had just told it to them a few seconds prior; everyone has two left feet (save for the haitanis. who would’ve guessed that they actually had some finesse?) and finally, they were GOD AWFUL singers (except for izana, who actually has an amazing voice. those filipino genes really came in clutch! /lh)

so at this point i think all is doomed, that i’m going to be the laughing stock of my graduating class, and that the school is gonna be so mad at me for squandering all their money on this shitshow of a production. but then, shion’s offhanded comment ignites an idea in my mind.

shion: this shit is more like a comedy than a drama!!!

so we decide to lean more into the comedy aspect of the show! at least now if we suck it seems purposeful (rather than us genuinely sucking LMAO)

the following list is our cast for the production: shion as mulan, izana as li shang, hanma as mushu, tetta as cricket (LMAO), kakucho as shan yu, koko as li shang’s advisor, ran as ling, rin as yao, mocchi as chien po, mucho as the emperor, and sanzu as the dad and mom/grandma (i’ll explain how we pull that off later LOL)

we practice and practice and PRACTICE until opening night, AND MY GOD IS IT SO PERFECT. we decide to not have any of them sing and making them lipsync (that’d be too much for our poor eardrums lol) except for izana, who sings a solo of “i’ll make a man out of you.” his solo is a hit amongst the audience, and a few people even gave him a standing ovation after the scene!!

“a girl worth fighting for” makes the crowd erupt in laughter. we gave ran and rindou a dance solo and THEY SELL IT. rindou does the splits (and the crowd LITERALLY CHEERS), ran does some baton twirling tricks but with a wooden stick instead to keep it in universe. ran plays a really, really good ling— like he SELLS the role. he’s super loose and flamboyant (much like ling), and sometimes you can’t even tell if he’s acting or just being himself.

everyone does an amazing job, really, but let me list some standout moments for the charas i haven’t mentioned yet!!

koko: he didn’t even really wanna be in tenjiku, and now he has to be in this stupid play? fuck outta here. he’s so sassy & snappy delivering his lines as the advisor that he’s actually one of the fan favorites.

kaku: sweet, sweet kaku plays a menacing shan yu. at first he was a little awkward acting all brooding, especially against shion and izana, but eventually he really grew into the role :)

hanma + tetta: THE PERFECT PAIR. hanma just scheming and doing mushu things while tetta (as the cricket) stands quietly and judges every single thing he does. hanma is definitely the top fan favorite of the night; he and tetta made the crowd howl with laughter the whole show.

sanzu: POOR HARUCHIYO. he kinda got the short end of the stick :( but when life gave this boy lemons HE MADE LEMONADE. we had to dress one side of him masculine (as the dad) and the other side feminine (as the mom/grandma). and whenever he had to say lines in one scene but as 2 different people, we would just have him turn around to show who was speaking. this bootleg effect added for the comedic nature of the musical LMAO

mucho and mocchi just do what they always do: kept everyone in line when things got rowdy. i seriously wouldn’t have been able to keep all the boys in control w/out their help!!

shion: :,) he’s not the best actor and dancer, and he’s an even worse singer, but he tried his absolute hardest for me. he didn’t even care that he had to wear an itchy wig the whole time— he just hated seeing me so distressed. (bye i’m gonna cry LMAO)

anyways, we get a standing ovation at the end of the show, when everyone comes on stage to bow!! i initially didn’t want to come on stage and bow with them, because really, they were the stars of the night. but shion drags me onto the stage and makes me bow with him <3 and while i’m smiling and waving at my friends and family, he unexpectedly picks me up and puts me on his shoulders; the boys start jumping around and cheering my name too :,)

when the curtains close, shion puts me down. in a heightened state of elation, i hug him and he lifts me up and spins me around, the other tenjiku boys just watching like )^o^(

and while he’s holding me in his arms, squeezing me tight and listening to me giggle excitedly— that’s when he realizes that he has feelings for me <3
