Snivy is so cool… Ash’s Snivy in the anime being the responsible one and getting the rest of the Pokémon out of trouble if they get too reckless…. Also in the 77th episode of the BW series when Ash’s Tepig meets the original fire-type trainer that abandoned him, Snivy stepped up to partner with Tepig and battle against the previous trainer because of her abandonment issues hhjfjkd that’s so touching (oh god even with Pokémon I’m attached to characters with abandonment issues huh)

For a moment Quistis has NO IDEA what to do with that. She's frozen momentarily unsure whether she should be pissed off that he's implied she doesn't care, or gloat because she's managed to make him admit she can do something better than him.

What actually happens however, is that she's just hurt. But, she's the one with no emotions, or at least the only one she shows people is distain/contempt, letting them know she's disappointed. She's had to be that way, "cold as ice," just to survive. And the thing is, Seifer knows that. He KNOWS why she's like that, and still he throws it in her face.

She wasn't even aware she needed to turn her feelings off for this mission. All she'd done was mention that the target had children and they would need to find them also. Her intent was to get them somewhere safe - next of kin, an orphanage, whatever was needed. She didn't like that they were taking out the kids' only remaining parent, and they weren't really taking him out, they were taking him IN. He was to be captured and tried for the murder of his wife.

She was entirely unsure of how to respond to his comment for several minutes. Just staring at him like a statue, then the mask she'd created from years of practice fell over her and she lifted a brow at him, "No one said you had to."

She got the feeling he'd been talking about something not at all mission related, but, while on a mission, she couldn't think about other things. Things like wanting children of her own eventually, if it was even possible, if she'd be allowed to retire from SeeD ever given not only her aptitude for it, but her unique Blue Magic. It was a fear she very much kept to herself, that she'd never be allowed to really LIVE.

No, thinking about those things outside the comfort of her own bed just wasn't a good idea. It was a distraction, and she couldn't afford that on missions. Not if she wanted to get out of them alive.

Left-of-center twitter/tumblr/tiktok/whatever really does have this this ironclad belief that naturally people will all be kind and progressive and have good politics, and it's only the alien corruption of things like 'debate club' that might ever lead to a law student adopting 'the perspective of power'.
