17, 20, and 23!

17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?

This is such a hard question! But I’m glad you asked- as number one hater and detractor of my work I don’t officially pick out the stuff I like- and I should more often. It’s better for the soul that way.

After some thought, I’ll give you two explained a specific caveat: my preferred medium to keep up my writing is RPing, because I rarely ever finish anything out of my stash when in the echo chamber of me. Is it the writer’s desire for perfection or just the archetypical self-loathing that comes with being a creative in your 20s?? Who knows! So here’s my favorite line from a short fic + a line from my multimuse blog:

20. what is your favorite trope to write?

Friends to lovers!! Either that or when a character is haunted to the point of paralysis. I love the horrors man

23. how do you deal with writers block?

Short answer: I don’t! I have so much unfinished shit

Long answer: I keep myself writing on a micro level no matter what. I can only write on a macro level during certain times of the year, so between recharges what I’ll do is revisit something and I’ll write a single sentence. Maybe even do a sprint every now and again. Doesn’t matter if I like it or I hate it, I do filler sentences to place hold for when I can actually function. I figure I can delete it or add more when I get the bug.

I also take the block for what it is. Maybe I’m burned out, maybe I just need time. However long it takes. In the meantime I do a lot of reading. I try new authors, revisit beloved fanfics and continuously piece apart what it is about the media I love to its constitutent pieces so that I can put it back together in my own words. I pour over dictionaries and thesauruses (thesauri?????) to shake up the monotony. I try to get a sense of my influences so that I understand what it is I dislike so much in my own process and what the outer limits of my style are before they cross into pure derivatives. Then I go work on mundane chores in pure silence while my brain marinates.

I don’t write with the primary goal being finish anymore, which sounds super counter-productive, completely antithetical to writing fanfiction to begin with! but my ultimate goal is this: to stay writing. Because once the block gets me for long enough, that skill decays and it gets easier to stay away.

Haha, I understand—I was more talking about if there was a specific moment from the book series you may have been thinking of, since I haven’t completely read all of the books myself. And that’s interesting that you bring up the fire gift….🤔 it really is anybody’s guess at this point and it’s so fun to speculate. I’m not sure the confinement itself has to do with armand either, but I could see armand being around in some capacity, even if it’s just in a him and louis occasionally communicate telepathically sense. I’m also curious about the status of his and lestat’s relationship present day. There’s so many directions they could go with it
