Rather specific and weird but, how do you think Altaïr, Ezio, Ratonhnhaké:ton, and Desmond would react to having chronic migraines? Totally not asking because my chronic migraines are kicking my ass right now. Totally.
I hope you feel better, nonny, and I’m sorry this is so late TTATT
Altaïr:
Altaïr had been living with the pain in his head that comes and goes regularly since he was a child.
He knows how to hide it and he has no plans to tell anyone about it.
Al Mualim knows of it and has told him repeatedly how important it was for nobody else to know.
It was a weakness that Altaïr cannot show to others.
So he pretends he’s fine.
Everything was fine.
He’s fine.
He must be fine.
Ezio:
Ezio’s sickness in the mind as the dottore would call it always worried his family. He tried to hide it at times, especially when he knows that Petruccio needed more care and attention that him. He was the older brother. The least he could do was make sure his youngest sibling would be cared for. He can endure the pain.
“You’re an idiot.” Claudia would always say as she drags Ezio to his room and force him to lay on his bed.
“I’m fine, Claudia.”
“I know. You’re helping me practice.”
Ezio had hated this ‘practice’ when he was a child. A practice to when I have my own child, Claudia would say.
It was embarrassing.
But hearing Claudia read out loud a book for children…
Feeling the warmth of his blanket…
The relaxing scent of tea that Claudia would sip from time to time…
The pain in his head was still prominent but… Ezio couldn’t help but relax nonetheless.
“Thank you, Claudia.”
“Shush, babies don’t talk.”
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Everyone in the village knew that Ratonhnhaké:ton would have this ‘episodes’ every so often. They always seemed to realize it even when Ratonhnhaké:ton is trying to hide it and tell him to go home and rest or, if Ratonhnhaké:ton is being a bit too stubborn, they’ll let him do something for the village that he could do at his own pace. Nothing dangerous. They’d always check up on him every so often and Ratonhnhaké:ton would try to finish it. But his mother would always come to him before he could and they would go home. His mother would tuck him after they ate and hum some kind of song as she held her son.
When he became an Assassin, he tried to hide it. It was easy to hide it among the people who didn’t know him.
But Achilles always knew.
“You’ll only be a danger to everyone and yourself. Rest and return when you’re better.”
Achilles tried to keep his distance.
But Ratonhnhaké:ton still heard the concern in his tone.
He always watched as Achilles walked away after saying his peace even though the sound of his cane tapping against the wooden floor made the pain in his head hurt a little bit more.
Rest.
Yes.
Ratonhnhaké:ton supposed he should take a rest.
He didn’t want Achilles to come back and hit him on the head with his cane later after all.
Not that it ever happened.
It was an empty threat and they both knew it.
Desmond:
Desmond is slave to capitalism. He has no choice but to keep on working even though he has a migraine. It’s absolute hell but Desmond has grown used to this.
Even back on the Farm, he would still continue to train when he was having a migraine. Nothing has truly changed.
Hell, this is an improvement.
The worst he could do was drop some kind of glass or bottle instead of falling or getting hurt himself.
It’ll be fine.
He’ll be fine.
(He does not realize that the lighting and the music of his job is worsening his migraines, he just thinks he need to power through it)
He would probably check online for medicines that can help make his migraines ‘easier’ or remember the medicine his parents used to give him (and yeah, if it needs a prescription, Desmond’s gonna steal it)

An AU idea where, after Ezio fist fights the pope and enters the vault, there is no Minerva waiting for the prophet with a message, just a naked Desmond, unconscious on the floor, lined like an Apple of Eden with no memory of what happened after he touched the eye, and very little memory of what happened before that. He knows his name, he knows he's an assassin, and he knows he died to save the world. But he doesn't know when or where that happened or how he ended up in the vault.
This makes me think about how everyone would react to the mostly used plot point that Desmond and Altaïr share too many similar facial features.
Without Ezio hearing about Desmond’s name from Minerva, all the information he has about Desmond is the following:
His name is Desmond (from Desmond)
He’s an Assassin (from Desmond)
He believes he died saving the world (from Desmond)
Everything else is foggy (implied from Desmond’s ‘I’m not sure’ answers to most of Ezio’s questions)
This vault is meant to hold something very powerful (from Mario)
Only the prophet (him) may open the vault (from Altaïr’s Codex)
God dwells in the vault (from Rodrigo)
Now, a funny conclusion to make would that Ezio’s religious upbringing makes him think Desmond is Jesus (died to save the world + ‘god’ dwells in the vault). XD
Another idea that Ezio could potentially get to using mental gymnastics is that Desmond is related to Altaïr in some way.
Now, the Codex doesn’t specifically say who Altaïr’s sons are. To be more specific, what his son’s names are sooooo…
Ezio could believe that Desmond is Altaïr’s son.
This would make sense in his mind on why Altaïr seemed to know about the vault and why he’s invested in it but hid it in his Codex. Desmond looking a lot like Altaïr also points to this.
His working theory is that Desmond had sacrificed his life to save the world (perhaps it is connected to Genghis Khan in some way? It wasn’t like they had a lot of records about the Levantine Brotherhood anyway) and Altaïr, a father grieving the death of his son, used an unknown Piece of Eden to revive him.
Maybe the revival process took too much time and Altaïr knew he would be dead before his son would wake up.
Maybe Altaïr thought he had failed.
Whatever the reason may be, the revival process happened in the Vault underneath Vatican and Altaïr sealed it off with Desmond either sleeping or healing inside.
And Altaïr left the hidden message to guide a prophet to the vault.
To wake his son and give him another chance of life.
Now, at this point, Machiavelli and Claudia would most certainly think that it’s a stretch. Mario would be more on Ezio’s side since old Assassin family have, at this point, pretty much exaggerated Altaïr’s skills and contributions with hero worshipping that can rival Kadar’s very common among them.
But they would all agree that Desmond needs to be protected and helped.
Also, Desmond could easily wield the Apple and command it without any problems but they are concerned of the way the glowing lines on his body became brighter whenever he uses the Apple so they let Ezio keep it for now.
Now, may I suggest more complication?
Desmond retains all the skills he got from the Bleeding Effect and he also feels a painful ache whenever he looked at Altaïr’s statue, describing it as ‘grief’ or the sense of ‘longing’.
Ezio believes this is another indication of Desmond being Altaïr’s son.
Desmond also says ‘He taught me… my… brother?’ whenever someone asked how he performed a specific Assassin movement or skill that they may or may not know.
Ezio believes Desmond is talking about Altaïr’s other son (maybe even sons) as Altaïr’s Codex did say ‘our sons’, not ‘our son’.
But both of these are actually because of Desmond’s Bleeding Effect. He feels the same grief and longing for both Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton, it just shows more because Altaïr’s statue is right there, knocking in his head the closed stuck door holding all his memories. Calling them ‘brothers’ is more of Desmond’s mind screwing up the idea of ‘ancestors’ with a ‘Brotherhood’ because his Assassin ancestors are all his brothers in the Brotherhood after all.
And, to further screw up Desmond, his memories come in flashes.
But not his memories of Desmond Miles.
His memories of reliving the memories of Ezio Auditore.
For example, the day the Papal Army is about to lay siege to their town, Desmond sees a vision of the town in shambles, of Ezio getting hit and Mario dying.
He doesn’t know the context of any of these.
He doesn’t even know when it will happen.
But Ezio gets everyone to take it seriously because this is a man they found sleeping in a vault that supposedly never been opened before (“Altaïr opened it.” “We don’t know that for certain.”)
Monteriggioni suffered heavy damages but it stood the attack and Desmond’s mastery over the Apple made the Papal Army fight one another.
That’s when Desmond gets another vision.
He has a vision of Ezio with many Assassins behind him… in Rome.
And that is how we kick Ezio to AC Brotherhood’s storyline while keeping Monteriggioni sorta intact and Mario alive… with Desmond acting as his seer but he has to stay with Ezio because he only has visions if Ezio is nearby (although it is pretty random).

Hello. You're one of the best fanfic writers on tumblr since I come. Your writings are just masterpiece. I like when you send Desmond back in time but It would be great to send his ancestors to moderday. Mabey before Desmond geting kidnaped. Ir happened like this:
Master assassins were always watching. Desmond. The one that they sacrificed themselves for. Altair and Connor were quite alright with this fact but Ezio… The emptiness he felt inside in the vault… He could never forget it. It was actauly obvious that he hated Desmond for it. But he always wanted the prophecy go as it was writen and the day Desmond ran away from the farm. He couldn't help but getting mad. Altair always tried to make him undrestand Desmond. The weakness he felt in the farm how he was treated by his father… Ezio could undrestand but his family, his love, his happiness, they were all gone because of that stupid kid. So he wanted to make everything go as planned. What if they could protect him from Abestergo? But not from here. The grey was a strange place. All illusions could come real. So he used this to make himself strong enough to protect the chosen one. The creation he chose to shift to was a khanivore!!! A creation made to kill. And with the power of shapeshifting he could always be there for Desmond.
So we have a khanivore keeper for Desmond that can shpeshift to a human. A white khanivore with red lines all over his body like the robes of a mentor. I was thinking it would so cool a Desmond with one badass khanivore by his side. They could destroy templairs together. And in the way of it they will learn how to get along with each other or mabey romance. And it will be funny to see Desmond trying to teach Ezio how to use modern tech. Can you add details. I love the way you give life to these characters. I love youuu❤❤❤
Thank you! ❤❤❤
For those unfamiliar with a khanivore, it looks like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in this scenario, Ezio has complicated feelings for Desmond. He knows he shouldn’t hate him, Desmond was also a victim of ‘fate’ as Altaïr would sometimes say whenever he sees Ezio’s frustrations bubbling beneath the surface while they were in the Gray.
Ezio understood that.
But sometimes he just doesn’t get Desmond.
He wasn’t like Ratonhnhaké:ton who had a complicated relationship with his father just as Desmond had.
He wasn’t like Altaïr who had a similar isolated upbringing as Desmond had.
It was times like these that makes Ezio wonder why he was even Desmond’s prophet.
Altaïr or Ratonhnhaké:ton would have been better.
They would have understood Desmond more than he could ever had.
He didn’t understand it.
And that feeling of his is what turned to frustration, to hatred.
He always tried to stomp it out but sometimes, it would just flare up whenever he sees Desmond wasting his time just… doing nothing.
Staring at the sky.
At the woods beyond the Farm…
Ezio was tired.
So tired.
He spent his life as an Assassin being a puppet dancing to the tune the Isus created for him.
As an opening act to Desmond’s story.
And when he finally died, he was transported here instead of being with the people he loved.
All because of Desmond.
So when Desmond ran away from the Farm, Ezio was furious.
Ratonhnhaké:ton tried to calm him down, tried to remind him that Desmond was still sixteen.
Altaïr kept quiet.
The only time he spoke during that time was to say that he understood Desmond’s choice.
And that they should honor his decision to live his life the way he wants to live it.
But Ezio couldn’t agree with that.
Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton had always had a soft spot for Desmond, had always been more forgiving.
He couldn’t understand why Altaïr could think that way. Ratonhnhaké:ton had been with them since his death, he’s only been stuck in the Gray for more or less three centuries. He probably still doesn’t feel that bitter loneliness that Ezio feels.
But Altaïr?
Altaïr had been stuck here longer than Ezio had been.
Maybe that was what was different between them.
Altaïr had the patience that Ezio no longer possessed.
So Ezio planned.
And creates a body he could use to get out of the Gray.
To drag Desmond back to the Brotherhood.
Unorganized Notes:
Ezio has been so focused on creating the khanivore that he hasn’t seen how Desmond is doing after leaving the Farm.
When he leaves and goes to the modern time, he’s floored by how much Desmond had grown and becomes conflicted when he realized that this was the first time he had ever seen Desmond smiling in a very long time. No. It was the first time he had ever seen Desmond happy for a very long time.
Ezio uses the khanivore as his body but can shapeshift to a human form. He visits Desmond in the bar but don’t talk to him. Contemplating on his next plan.
Desmond thinks he’s super sus but his coworkers think he’s just shy and might have a crush on Desmond with the way he keeps staring at Desmond then looking away whenever Desmond turns to face his direction.
Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton remain in the Gray but they try to contact Ezio at times, usually hijacking radios and any other electronics nearby. After a while, Ezio gets a phone so they could just… call him. (like the phone rings and they can talk for a few seconds, maybe a minute, before it drops because signals sucks in the Gray)
Ezio spent a lot of time not sure of what to do now because he’s not an asshole who would just yank someone away from their happiness but, at the same time, Desmond needs to become an Assassin to save the world. So yeah, he’s torn. It doesn’t help that Desmond started talking to him and… well, they’re talking. Nothing serious but it gives Ezio an excuse to ask Desmond how his life is and…
He can’t help but be happy for Desmond for having a life he finds happiness in but also he can’t stop that bitterness that keeps whispering to him that Desmond needs to do his duty. His responsibility. The fate of the world depends on it.
That’s when Cross tries to kidnap Desmond.
And Ezio saves him in his khanivore form.
Cue a story of Desmond and Ezio (in khanivore form) running away from Abstergo, trying to get into contact with the Assassins because they have no choice. Ezio starts to understand Desmond more because Desmond lets his guard down with Ezio’s khanivore form.
And then… I don’t know. Desmond gets kidnapped anyway while Ezio barely manages to escape? That’s when he finally gets to talk to Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton who informed him that if he wants to keep the timeline intact, for Desmond to save the world, he has to let Desmond stay in Templar custody ‘until the time is right’.
Which only serves to make Ezio think about how he truly feels with Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton subtly pushing him to confront his real feelings (maybe with Altaïr even reminding Ezio that this is what he wanted, isn’t it?)
In the end, Ezio says fuck fate and goes to save Desmond before Desmond could finish reliving Ezio’s memories.
That’s as far as I got XD

I come with my own Hurt Desmond Ask: What if Desmond had an eidetic memory? He'd remember everything in specific detail, from combat forms to how to build bombs to the horrible deaths of his ancestor's families... Just saying, reliving the lives of his ancestor's in the animus is bad enough, but with a memory like that he'd remember things so much more clear and for a really long time.
If Desmond had an eidetic memory before he was in the Animus, he would have had a different childhood. This might even be a Desmond that managed to achieve and go beyond William Miles’ expectations.
In that kind of scenario, it would be easy for Desmond to be broken in a different way: loneliness.
By having an eidetic memory, he would remember everything that he sees and hears which includes how different Bill treats him compare to the fathers of the other children on the Farm.
From there, it would be easy for Desmond to fail pry to being emotionless, trying not to think about such thing and focusing on pleasing Bill. Maybe when he was a child, it was a way for him to try and receive the same warmth he could only see from the other children. Perhaps he had received it once or twice before from Bill when he had been quite young.
But the older he got, the more Bill treated him less as a son and more as a soldier.
And Desmond knows it. It’s hard not to when he can remember every interaction he has with Bill, after all.
Things only gets harder once he starts reliving his ancestors’ life in the Animus.
It was the easiest with Altaïr. They had similar upbringings… too similar, in fact, that it makes Desmond uncomfortable how easy it was for the Bleeding Effect to mix their memories together. But Altaïr was the easiest to endure of the three of them. Even though they had similar upbringings, it was easy for Desmond to accept his memories.
But Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton…
They were hard to accept.
Feeling the tightness in his chest as he remembered the love Ezio received from his family, reminding Desmond of the Farm…
Feeling his lungs about to collapse as the memories of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s mother would come to him in inopportune time, reminding Desmond of the cold detached way his own mother had been…
Haytham Kenway…
And then he started to remember Altaïr’s memories that he didn’t even access in the Animus thanks to the Synch Nexus.
The kind smile of Umar…
The warmth he felt as he held his oldest son in his arms for the first time…
Desmond wanted to hate them.
It would have been so much easier if he could just hate them.
Hate would such a kinder emotion to have…
Than the painful desire to feel such warmth be directed at him.
Not as a memory of someone else that was as clear as his.
But his own memory…

I've been seeing some gem fusions on tiktok, where two people fuse together to become a new being and I'm just imagining Des and Altaïr not wanting to seperate after fusing for a mission of smth
(sorry if this isn't your fandom but I had to say it before the thought disappeared (• ▽ •;))
I didn’t fully watch the series I think you’re talking about but I have seen some clips and a few episodes my friend showed me a long time ago so I have an idea of what you mean.
At first, I was thinking that this could be a severe Bleeding episode but bleeds are usually described as something that takes over the subject’s personality. What you’re suggesting is more of an assimilation of Altaïr’s personality to Desmond’s without overwriting Desmond’s.
In that case, may I interest you in this small fic?
Now, if you mean a full-on AU where Desmond is able to fuse with any of his ancestors at will, then things would be a bit different.
In this scenario, there is an easy reason why Desmond and Altaïr wouldn’t want to separate after perhaps a harrowing mission:
Loneliness.
I’ve touched upon how Desmond and Altaïr are quite similar to one another and an argument could be made that Altaïr is actually the ancestor that Desmond is most similar with.
Both were born and raised in a secluded Assassin ‘stronghold’
Both have been training as Assassins since they were children
Their father-figure (Al Mualim and William Miles) are high-ranking members of the Brotherhood who has high expectations of them
While differing in circumstances, they have a distant relationship with their parents and parental figures
They were raised by cold/distant parental figures in a place that may or may not have been militaristic as well
There is no explicit evidence that they had friends or any deep connections with anyone prior to the games (Abbas does not count as an argument can be made that the breaking of friendship only further isolated Altaïr and Kadar’s relationship with Altaïr before his death was ambiguous at best)
They have, at certain points in their life, contemplated the idea of running away from the Brotherhood
From this, we can make an argument that the main reason why Desmond and Altaïr would refuse to cancel their fusion would be because at this state, in this form, they are one and both at the same time. They share everything, further amplifying their loneliness while providing a ‘cure’ to it by the fact that they still keep their individuality in this form even if they are one.
In other words, they don’t have to be lonely anymore whenever they are in this form.
And, even if everyone was able to finally coax them out of canceling their fusion, the damage had already been done. Desmond and Altaïr would seek each other out, whether they fuse or not doesn’t matter. With a single fusion, they were able to understand one another more than anybody else they had fused with before. A deeper connection brought by the similarities of their upbringing and circumstances.
And that… is the beginning of what could either be a relationship they had craved for their entire life or could easily isolate them from others with an ‘us versus the world’ mentality.

okay i just rewatched Pacific Rim for the millionth time and, hear me out, a Modern Pacific Rim AU?
Like, the Masyaf Eagle having been originally piloted by the Al Sayf brothers but a nasty battle kills Kadar and takes Malik's arm so now Malik serves as an engineer/command center for the Eagle's new pilot Altair who is in search of a co-pilot. And the only one who can successfully drift (synchronize) with him is Desmond. (Altdes)
Ezio Auditore who inherited the Eden Assassin after his father and brother were killed in battle. Ezio who lost his co-pilot and dear friend Yusuf in a battle. Ezio who is trying to stop his sister from becoming his new co-pilot because he's so scared of losing her like he's lost everyone else.
Edward Kenway and Adewale being totally awesome troublemakers and pilots of the Jackdaw
Haytham and Shay being co-pilots of the Morrigan Revenge and having a ridiculous rivalry with Connor and Arno, pilots of the Phantom Aquila
Jacob and Evie co-piloting the Victorian Conqueror and setting records for fastest kaiju kills.
Bayek and Aya becoming pilots after losing Khemu during an attack and piloting the Hidden One.
Kassandra and Alexios being terrifying co-pilots of the Spartan Misthios
Totally out of left field co-pilots Eivor and Basim who seem so unlikely because they spend most of their free time arguing, but being badass pilots of the Raven Destroyer.
idk i just got really excited
Nooonnnnnyyyy!
You got me excited as well because I love mechas and kaijus! Pacific Rim is one of my most favorite movies ever! (Although, as a huge Del Toro fan, that’s not really surprising XD)
Making it AltDes makes me go jshdafjkhjbhsdasadg
Okay, okay.
I think Shaun and Rebecca could be K-Science Officers focused on why these Kaijus are attacking humans in particular. Now, I was thinking we can make Al Mualim the Marshal in charge of Altaïr and Desmond’s Division and we can keep him as a ‘good guy’ in this setup but, if you still want him to be ‘evil’, perhaps he’s secretly in charge of some kind of illegal project that uses Kaiju parts to create a new type of Jaeger.
Why are we making Al Mualim the Marshal?
Because we’ll make Desmond a second generation of Jaeger Pilots. His father, William Miles, was known as the hero who saved South Dakota from total annihilation so there was a lot of pressure for him to do well.
Hell, he didn’t even want to become a Jaeger Pilot and he had actually run away but he was called back after he got ‘visitors’ who insisted he needed to be escorted to a PPDC base where Altaïr is trying to find a co-pilot. They spar and found out they were compatible but their first few Drifts were so bad everyone starts to doubt that they were actually compatible and, honestly, Desmond and Altaïr didn’t understand why they’re being paired together.
They had nothing in common.
That’s when Al Mualim tells them that they have one thing in common that was clear to everyone during their Drift sessions.
They both had walls around themselves, keeping them from fully synchronizing.
And, surprisingly, it was Altaïr who pushes Desmond to talk to him, to try and understand one another.
Only to be surprised when Desmond asks him, “You’re doing this because Al Mualim told you, aren’t you?”
Later on, Altaïr corners him once more and asks back, “How’d you know?”
And that’s how Desmond realizes that their compatibility might stem from their similar upbringing because Al Mualim was Altaïr’s own William Miles.
Other Unorganized Notes:
The AltDes in this one would be more in line of ‘reluctant allies’ to friends to lovers… probably.
When they become lovers, everyone suffers because they're that kind of couple.
Masyaf Eagle mainly uses a one-hand sword but has a secret short blade on its left arm. It’s projectile weaponry is primarily throwing knives but it will get a gun upgrade on its right arm later on.
Ezio befriends Desmond easily and has a friendly rivalry with Altaïr. He also likes to joke about asking Desmond if he’d like to be his co-pilot instead which just makes Yusuf laugh. After Altaïr and Desmond get together, he makes the same jokes just to get a rise out of Altaïr. (Claudia is in a separate base for training and Ezio always finds the time to visit her or send her messages)
Eden Assassin is mostly known for being versatile, having both short and long-range capabilities. It’s also known for its left hand having a hook blade attachment.
Edward and Adéwalé are one of the oldest Jaeger pilots still on the field. Edward is also Haytham’s older brother and he worries about him a lot. Edward also likes to spoil his young nephew. A lot of people are actually curious how the two of them could be co-pilots considering their personalities but Adéwalé and Edward never answer any of their questions. It is clear that they are loyal to one another.
The Jackdaw has a chest blaster which blasts out four shots (as a reference to how Edward usually has four flintlock pistols on his chest harness). Jackdaw is primarily a ranged Jaeger and its main weapon is a twin pair of gunblades.
Haytham transferred to be Shay’s co-pilot after a huge disagreement between Shay’s old co-pilot erupted and ‘corrupted’ their Drifts too much that they could no longer operate Morrigan Revenge. Haytham usually just lets Shay lead but any time Haytham wants to take the lead, Shay backs down immediately and follows him. Haytham does not approve of Ratonhnhaké:ton being a Jaeger pilot.
Morrigan Revenge primarily uses a long one-handed sword and a short dagger. It also has a grenade launcher on its right shoulder. It’s mostly known for having a head that looks like a taco. (no, I’m not sorry, I will forever talk about Haytham’s taco hat)
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Arno are the youngest Jaeger pilots currently in the field. Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t have a good relationship with his father but he’s cordial to his uncle. Arno is the son of Charles Dorian who died in a Kaiju Battle piloting a Jaeger. He actually became a Jaeger pilot to follow his step-sister who pilots a different Jaeger.
Phantom Aquila is an experimental Jaeger and its main experiment is if it’s possible for a Jaeger to have two forms. A humanoid form and a quadrupedal form. It’s faster on its quadrupedal form and it usually takes that form when it’s providing support or distractions. Its humanoid form uses primarily a tomahawk-like weapon and has a crossbow on its left arm.
Victorian Conqueror has the highest record for the fastest Kaiju kills because Evie and Jacob actually cannot handle being drifted to one another for too long. Everyone is keeping it a secret and only their main engineers and support team (led by Jayadeep Mir) know about it. They believe the main reason for their low drift timeframe stems from Ethan Frye’s death… not that Evie and Jacob believe them.
Victorian Conqueror has a cane sword and a kukri-like blade. It also has invincibility capabilities but they’re still working out how to make it useable as it can only be activated if Victorian Conqueror does not move.
Aya and Bayek were actually retired Jaeger pilots. They returned to the field after their son’s death and still uses Hidden One which is one of the oldest Jaeger still on the field.
Hidden One has a lot of possible weaponry at its disposal but they primarily use either a shield and a one hand sword or twin short blades. Supposedly, Aya prefers the short blades while Bayek prefers the sword-and-shield combo.
Alexios and Kassandra are known for having lots of friends… with benefits… Sometimes the same friends even. They also came from a family of Jaeger pilots and are very close. On their time off, they usually go off base to visit their mother. Their step brother is also a Jaeger pilot while their step father is a Marshal for another base.
Spartan Misthios uses a sword and a short blade. The short blade is special as it actually came from an older Jaeger model named the “Spartan King”. Spartan King is legendary for protecting thousands of civilians against a horde of smaller but faster Kaijus, holding down the line as everyone escaped. By the time the Spartan King had been overwhelmed and both of its pilot died, everyone had managed to escape. One of the pilots was Kassandra and Alexios’ grandfather and Spartan Misthios is considered to be the Spartan King's successor.
Eivor and Basim have… very soap-opera level of drama. Raven Destroyer's original pilots were meant to be Eivor and Sigurd but Sigurd was discharged after just two Kaiju battles. Rumors say that he had been dishonorably discharged due to how he acts. Basim was transferred as one of the candidates for Eivor’s co-pilot and they didn’t exactly start well (Eivor punching Basim hard enough that he actually flew across the room may or may not be exaggerated). Still, they do work together whenever they’re in their Jaeger… only to go back to bickering afterward.
Raven Destroyer has a shield on its left arm. It switches from a hand axe or a pair of daggers at any given time and even its fighting style changes from pure brute force to hit-and-run tactics in a blink of an eye, making it a hard opponent to fight.
All Kaijus have codenames based on gods and goddesses.
