Rather specific and weird but, how do you think Altaïr, Ezio, Ratonhnhaké:ton, and Desmond would react to having chronic migraines? Totally not asking because my chronic migraines are kicking my ass right now. Totally.
I hope you feel better, nonny, and I’m sorry this is so late TTATT
Altaïr:
Altaïr had been living with the pain in his head that comes and goes regularly since he was a child.
He knows how to hide it and he has no plans to tell anyone about it.
Al Mualim knows of it and has told him repeatedly how important it was for nobody else to know.
It was a weakness that Altaïr cannot show to others.
So he pretends he’s fine.
Everything was fine.
He’s fine.
He must be fine.
Ezio:
Ezio’s sickness in the mind as the dottore would call it always worried his family. He tried to hide it at times, especially when he knows that Petruccio needed more care and attention that him. He was the older brother. The least he could do was make sure his youngest sibling would be cared for. He can endure the pain.
“You’re an idiot.” Claudia would always say as she drags Ezio to his room and force him to lay on his bed.
“I’m fine, Claudia.”
“I know. You’re helping me practice.”
Ezio had hated this ‘practice’ when he was a child. A practice to when I have my own child, Claudia would say.
It was embarrassing.
But hearing Claudia read out loud a book for children…
Feeling the warmth of his blanket…
The relaxing scent of tea that Claudia would sip from time to time…
The pain in his head was still prominent but… Ezio couldn’t help but relax nonetheless.
“Thank you, Claudia.”
“Shush, babies don’t talk.”
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Everyone in the village knew that Ratonhnhaké:ton would have this ‘episodes’ every so often. They always seemed to realize it even when Ratonhnhaké:ton is trying to hide it and tell him to go home and rest or, if Ratonhnhaké:ton is being a bit too stubborn, they’ll let him do something for the village that he could do at his own pace. Nothing dangerous. They’d always check up on him every so often and Ratonhnhaké:ton would try to finish it. But his mother would always come to him before he could and they would go home. His mother would tuck him after they ate and hum some kind of song as she held her son.
When he became an Assassin, he tried to hide it. It was easy to hide it among the people who didn’t know him.
But Achilles always knew.
“You’ll only be a danger to everyone and yourself. Rest and return when you’re better.”
Achilles tried to keep his distance.
But Ratonhnhaké:ton still heard the concern in his tone.
He always watched as Achilles walked away after saying his peace even though the sound of his cane tapping against the wooden floor made the pain in his head hurt a little bit more.
Rest.
Yes.
Ratonhnhaké:ton supposed he should take a rest.
He didn’t want Achilles to come back and hit him on the head with his cane later after all.
Not that it ever happened.
It was an empty threat and they both knew it.
Desmond:
Desmond is slave to capitalism. He has no choice but to keep on working even though he has a migraine. It’s absolute hell but Desmond has grown used to this.
Even back on the Farm, he would still continue to train when he was having a migraine. Nothing has truly changed.
Hell, this is an improvement.
The worst he could do was drop some kind of glass or bottle instead of falling or getting hurt himself.
It’ll be fine.
He’ll be fine.
(He does not realize that the lighting and the music of his job is worsening his migraines, he just thinks he need to power through it)
He would probably check online for medicines that can help make his migraines ‘easier’ or remember the medicine his parents used to give him (and yeah, if it needs a prescription, Desmond’s gonna steal it)

A Correction of my Roman Numerals Post (About IX - Levi)
Hey, it’s me again. So I made a post about the LGI MV and the Roman numerals attached to each character as well as a quote connected to each. However, I actually fucked up pretty badly on the background text in the Levi section, so I decided to make a post addressing that.
Tumblr media
So, in my original post, I claimed the background text here related to the discovery of Pluto, since that’s what Google spat out when I put some of the keywords at the bottom. However, I have to admit something always felt off: the image in the background has nothing to do with Pluto or its discovery, as far as I could tell.
I didn’t look too much deeper into it, and that’s my bad. Turns out, the text is actually talking about something else. What tipped me off was this:
Tumblr media
The text there on the forefront mentioned Jupiter, which made me think of Levi’s text. And turns out, it actually is related.
This is about a comet named Shoemaker-Levy 9, which yes, has both “Levy” and “9” in the name, I’m pretty sure that’s why Levi was even given IX in the first place. After a bit of research, I’m pretty confident this is the thing Levi’s background text is actually about. In particular, I want to give a shout-out to weightedblankettt, who in their downright spectacular post dissecting the MV managed to find the original image used for the background, which yes, was Levi’s.
So what’s the deal with this thing? It’s a comet which crashed into Jupiter in the 90’s, but the really noteworthy thing about it is that it was the first asteroid discovered in the Solar System which did not orbit the Sun (it orbited Jupiter), and its crash was the first extraterrestrial impact between two celestial bodies we where able to see via telescopes. This is thanks to the scientists it’s named after, who made predictions based on its orbit to figure out when the impact would happen.
The one thing that throws me off a bit is that you can clearly see 1930 in Levi’s background text, but… nothing regarding this comet happened in 1930. It wasn’t discovered until much later, and according to Wikipedia, it didn’t even start orbiting Jupiter until 1970, 1960 at the earliest. However, I did find a singular, notably shady source saying it may have actually started orbiting Jupiter in 1930, so there’s that.
So that’s cool and all, but how is this connected to Levi? Well, I actually think the comet is connected through Jupiter.
You see, the mere existence of this comet is actually proof of an astronomical phenomenon where, occasionally, Jupiter “protects” the planets of the inner Solar System by “sucking up” asteroids which would have otherwise impacted them into its orbit. According to Wikipedia, some astronomers claim mass extinction events on Earth caused by asteroids would have been much more common if Jupiter didn’t exist.
It’s not difficult to connect this to Levi.
Tumblr media
As his quote states, he’s a very protective character. Like Jupiter protects Earth from asteroids, Levi offers protection to the cast. So there it is.
… And then there’s my theory. For like the fiftieth time, I’ll remind you I believe Eden’s the killer and Levi’s an accomplice. At first this protectiveness seems like a problem for that theory, but it really isn’t. Part of the theory already was that Levi lost faith in the rest of the group, and his protective instincts shifted over to Eden. In other words, the “inner planets” aren’t the rest of the cast anymore, just Eden.
In fact, the analogy may actually work better under that interpretation. Jupiter sometimes is struck by the asteroids it protects the inner planets from, as was the case with Shoemaker-Levy 9. In fact, this particular comet left behind a “bruise” even more noticeable than the Red Spot (or whatever that thing’s called). So it can be said (if you’re dramatic) Jupiter sacrifices itself for those it protects. Apply this to Levi, and the impact of Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter would be like Levi getting executed for protecting Eden. Though you could argue the “bruise” is actually an analogy for that scar on Levi’s shoulder, so it’s definitely not conclusive either way.
So, yeah, that was the main correction I wanted to make. Another small ones:
• Footnote 12 is actually on the screen after Min’s numeral, which wasn’t made clear, and I actually missed footnote 6 on Min’s section. It flashes on screen next to the hands in prayer, and the footnote is just “(Prayer)”. Not much to say about this one. I guess Min may have been praying because she was about to die? Idk.
Tumblr media
•Also, I just completely forgot to mention footnote 7 is on Arturo’s section? The footnote states that 7 is considered lucky in Western cultures, before saying “Let’s skip it”. I guess I took the footnote too seriously, since I completely forgot it was there.
Tumblr media
Anyways, it’s not like I know what it means. There’s nothing inherently lucky about Arturo, so it’s just weird. Though it’s worth noting this numeral appears right after the “correct/incorrect” code, which uses footnote 13, and 13 is an unlucky number. Again, cannot tell you for the life of me what the hell this has to do with Arturo of all characters, but it’s there.
Anyways, correction complete, thanks for bearing with me! Now, back to rewatching this video until I find wherever the fuck footnote 8 is! Seriously, has anyone found that one? It’s the only one I’m missing.

Chapter 24: Who is the Monster
The next day a sign was posted on the wall outside the great hall. Unlike Umbridge’s earlier proclamations, It was not an existing page of the student handbook. It was a brand new policy written in bold typed text, framed and nailed to the wall, out of reach of even the tallest students.
It is now Forbidden for students to enter the forest without the company of a professor or groundskeeper.
“Forbidden? How can an entire forest be forbidden?” Sirius asked, frowning up at the sign.
“This is Umbridge’s doing. I know it,” Lily said. “And it’s awful timing, too. I still need to return Timby.”
The Nofflemott had stayed the night in the blanket fort with everyone, curled up on Lily’s pillow and doted upon by all of her roommates. Alas, she knew it was the ethical thing to bring him back to his natural habitat. Plus she was running out of fruit to feed him.
“Suppose that’ll be another school rule I’ll break,” Lily sighed.

hope when the official comes out bakugou Stan’s shove it down everyone throat I don’t care this is the first time we seen him all year and before that all we got is side photos of his corpse he back and no more death scare we win from here on out
C’mon, now, it was a sure thing we were going to “win” from the beginning - he’s the embodiment of victory, he’s the sun, he’s the monkey king, he’s the great sage. Can’t enjoy the payoff without a little struggle beforehand, you know? And you can’t forget that he isn’t anything without the context of the characters and world around him.
But I can’t tell you what to do. I would appreciate it if you have compassion for the Present Mic, Aizawa, Kurogiri, and Spinner stans, though. They’ve been waiting a long time, too.
And, like. Toshinori is still having his moment, so please respect that too.

Thoughts on the new chapter of the web comic of ac black flag?
Thank you so much for the previous response!
(I'm glad you enjoyed our rants hahahaha)
So, I forgot to add this in the first post but if you’d like to read the official English version of the webtoon, here you go.
As for my thoughts on the first chapter, here’s the post.
Before I rant about Chapter 2, I need to talk about this:
“Hey, Abstergo, how bad did Devil of the Carribean flop that Noa doesn’t know Edward Kenway??? Did it not get a Korean release???”
Tumblr media
It’s this guy, Noa!
Tumblr media
He’s in the freaking trailer!!!
youtube
Okay that’s the most forgivable 'oversight' they've done so far since, you know, it did flop so maybe it didn’t get an international release. Hey, maybe it’s a ‘so bad it’s good’ kind of cult classic by now XD
Let’s get on with me overanalyzing this webtoon.
Now, I’m going to assume you meant Chapter 2 as it’s the latest free chapter in Webtoons but, for those who didn’t know, they already have more chapters up that can be unlocked. I would suggest that you wait for the free chapters instead if you’re still unsure if you’d like to keep reading the webtoon or, you know, follow Captain Edward Kenway’s footsteps after being privateer didn't pan out XD
Okay, so let’s talk about Chapter 2… (and this may be disjointed and absolutely out of order)
First of all:
Adéwalé is mentioned!!!
Tumblr media
It would be fun if he gets some screentime on this one, maybe save Edward some time or another.
Tumblr media
Same, my man. Same.
Edward is also searching for a lost city in the IndoChina area, supposedly a city of the Isus, and part of the Khmer Kingdom.
Tumblr media
Considering Khmer Kingdom was a Hindu-Buddhist empire, Isus based on Hindu gods (or an interpretation of already existing Isus seen as Hindu gods) could become vital to the story (or just a cameo).
There’s also info about missing ships and I’m betting this is connected to the lost city in some way.
Tumblr media
If this is a case of Tomb Raider Yamatai’s defense mechanism though… come on, Ubisoft. (It’s also possible it’s those masked dudes but my bet is the Yamatai defense mechanism type)
Okay. I have a problem with this one…
Tumblr media
So… I don't think we have confirmation if he has already married Tessa Kenway in this one but is Edward fully embracing that he’s British and not, you know, Welsh? Like, is this the vibe we’re going for here? Or are we going for “Welsh is part of Britain” type of deal and Edward is just calling himself British because, sure, yeah, okay, that’s how people around here know him as? Also, everyone thinks he’s British because of his accent but he’s Welsh in my ears (and maybe it’s not as thick as Catrin-Mai Huw’s Nia but it’s at least around the ballpark of Aimee-Ffion Edwards’ Mio so yeah, he sounds Welsh to me). (To be fair, he was a privateer under the British Crown so maybe this is just me pushing my headcanon that he’s proud to be Welsh).
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART THAT IS MOST PROBABLY JUST MEANT TO BE A REFERENCE:
Tumblr media
I’ve talked about this in the other post before BUT this is most definitely a reference to the temple underneath Alamut. Now, Alamut isn’t in Syria but I’m going to think better of everyone who had a hand in this webtoon and assume that this is not a mistake but a hint that they’re starting to look into it but don’t know the exact location so they’re starting in Syria where the seat of power of the Levantine Brotherhood was. Also, it was Edward who found the temple so this serves as a nodnodwinkwink that they’re not going to find anything and Edward would have to check it himself later on… probably. I don’t know anymore with Ubisoft.
Additional Notes for the other chapters because goddamn it, I wanna talk about some of these already. Primarily, THREE THINGS!
ONE: EDWARD’S EYES GLOW WHEN HE USES THE EAGLE VISION
Tumblr media
And since this is supposed to be canon, it means Eagle Vision making people’s eyes glow when it’s activated is canon! I feel so validated for my headcanon.
Although it looks more red than gold but I’m still going to keep describing the glow as gold because fuck Ubisoft, I'll write what I want XD
TWO: The implication of the name Shimazu
Tumblr media
The lead of the whole ‘let’s abduct this dude and force him to relive Edward’s memories instead of paying him and make him believe it’s for a new game!’ plot is supposed to be this ‘Shimazu’ Sei although the quotation brings into question if she is truly related to the actual Shimazu Clan, it could just be a case of the whole ‘there’s no real evidence that she has Shimazu ancestry but yeah, she actually does’ thing.
So if we go by the idea that the Shimazu Clan is part of the Templar Order, this brings up some insight to the possible Templar activity in Japan because:
The Shimazu Clan is descended from the Minamoto Clan which are pretty much composed of members of the Japanese imperial family that have been removed from the line of succession or taken out of the family itself and became nobles instead. The Shimazu Clan’s Templar ‘roots’ may stem from their exclusion to what they may consider to be their birthright.
The Shimazu Clan’s ancestor is Minamoto no Yoritomo who is the brother of probably the most famous of the Minamoto brothers, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Why is Yoshitsune famous? He’s known as one of the legendary heroes in Japanese history (although a lot may have been exaggerated at this point) and the Shimazu Clan’s ancestor Yoritomo is sometimes portrayed as going against him which, if Yoritomo is part of the Templar Order/Order of the Ancient, might imply that Yoshitsune was an ally of the Hidden Ones or something similar. (Historically though, they were allies but that might be the whole 'the Templars have muddled the truth' kind of deal)
The Shimazu Clan having Templar ties is also important because they were part of the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara which is another nod to AC lore of the Tokugawa Clan and the Eastern Army being allies with the Brotherhood during that time. There was no mention that the Western Army were Templars or Templar allies but, if this ‘Shimazu’ Sei does turn out to be an actual descendant of Clan Shimazu then this would imply the possibility that some (if not most or all) of the Western Army were either Templars or allied with the Templars.
THREE: Edward fighting shinobi-looking fellas
Tumblr media
This gives the vibe that he’s fighting rogue/turncoats Assassins from the Japanese Brotherhood as most shinobis we know of were affiliated with the Brotherhood. I say ‘most’ because the Templars have employed a kunoichi before and Fuuma Kotaro seemed to not be affiliated with the Assassins or the Templars from what I read. So… yeah, might just be shinobis employed by the Shimazu clan as they have said or might be rogue/turncoats Assassins and ‘Shimazu’ Sei is meant to be their descendants. Maybe even both???
Not a mistake but I had assumed that the way of speaking of the characters was a translation choice but this (btw, this isn’t the official translation):
Tumblr media
The Japanese line isn’t bad or unreadable/not understandable (and the English translation is not entirely correct which I assumed they translated from the Korean line that was included below the Japanese line) but it’s not exactly in accordance with the time period. Remember how Edward would say ‘Jay-sus!’ instead of ‘Jesus’ in Black Flag? Or how they speak in certain ways that we don’t use anymore? It’s similar to this considering that this was in 1724~25.
Maybe it’s because I watched a lot of Japanese period dramas but
目撃者を殺す
is too plain in my ears. The literal translation of this is “kill the witness” not “kill the witnesses”.
For a shinobi like this, I feel that translating “kill the witnesses” should be more like this:
すべての目撃者全滅する
That would translate to “Annihilating all eyewitnesses” which has more gravitas.
The more complete line would be “すべての目撃者を全滅する” but it’s more natural at times to remove particles when speaking and this is longer, yes, but that’s usually how they speak in olden times. Since Japan is still in the Edo period, they’d still be using a more archaic way of speaking than what we’re used to. This すべての目撃者全滅する, btw, is already modernized compared to how they should normally speak but it’ll be more ‘believable’ than just 目撃者を殺す.
Or… you know… the mook shinobi is not really a poet nor a reader and I’m thinking too deeply on this.
If you’ve read up to the end, here, have a chibi Edward XD
