the number of afab people replying to the pain poll going "yeah I've broken limbs and had 1st degree burns and given birth but nothing tops my menstrual pain" is so fucked up it is unbelievable. and I was right there with everyone else until I stumbled on a low dose progestin regimen that just made me stop menstruating. which I would recommend to everyone except it just doesn't work for everyone. ask your doc about it though, it won't cause permanent side effects or injury to try it out. i take norethindrone 2.5mg 2x/day. this dose has to be different for each patient to work correctly, that's just what I take. there's some research to suggest synthetic progesterone like norethindrone is carcinogenic so I'm going to look into switching. anyway i just got extremely lucky. there is seriously nothing like it. it was the worst pain I ever felt until the urology incident and frankly I think the menstrual pain was already a factor in the outcome of the urology incident

i’m going to word vomit all my thoughts about the wild life finale here and it’s going to be incoherent until it stops consuming every corner of my mind and i sit down and organize my thought 🤞🏼 until then enjoy my raw unfiltered thought processes

he won by going against the mechanic !! he remained calm and rational and never died to a single wildcard !!! all of his deaths were by people not the mechanic !! the game did not win joel did !he did not go absolutely insane and give in the red haze and he won !!! by not doing what the game wanted !! which means the only curse not broken this season was the winners curse !!!

at every single point in the series everyone is collectively trying to kill joel because he just won’t seem to die but joel is absolutely convinced he’s made friends and is just happy to have friends this season and keeps giving people stuff and then they TRY TO KILL HIM and fail and he DOESBT EVEN NOTICE

and then they die trying to kill joel and he gives them diamonds !!!

joel’s pov by itself is so funny because he’s just a guy in his car with his family having a great time !! and then you watch everyone and it’s like oh. joel is the common enemy here- everyone used gem keeping him cool to their advantage. they used his trust and took whatever joel would give them and blew up his car and stole from him and every time he forgave them everyone turned around and just began plotting against him again. the only person he had was gem who gave her life so many times to the people who betrayed joel anyways. because gem never died to a wildcard and no one every actually got a kill on her, all her lives were lost either by a mob or she let someone take her life so they could gain one (like jimmy, skizz, mumbo) and then at the end joel has survived and he believes he still had friends (jimmy scar & lizzie , etho , grian ) so he goes to them one last time to try and gear up and protect everyone from the G’s who were the longest standing alliance and had the most people, and all the people who he thought were his friends only tried to kill him when he turned his back

and he still won !!!!! it was him and grian against the whole rest of the server and grian was just using him !’ gem was gone and joel couldn’t stay calm anymore because he couldn’t go back to gem when something happened!! so grian stroked joel’s ego and told him he could win and let joel fight everyone and take the rest of the server out and when he did joel went looking for grian and said something along the lines of ‘grian we did it!�� only to turn around to grain shooting at him which makes sense of course but then when you go watch grian’s episode you see then grian has been trying to snipe joel the second every one else was dead but just kept missing and he started panicking g because he couldn’t make the shot and then tried being friendly with joel again

he’s literally THE wild card ! through every series he is aggressive and unpredictable and dangerous and of COURSE the game he wins is when the game starts being aggressive and unpredictable and dangerous but who knows that game better than joel? he beat the game and its own mechanic!!

he is also the only happy winners pov we’ve had!!! every other winner won in a moment of grief and betrayal and anger and in joel’s eyes he won through persistence and staying with his family (which is both dramatic and situational irony because he didn’t actually. he won by clawing his way through what everyone expected of him and everyone else being so blinded by their rage instead of him. he saw all his flaws in past winners and all his past lives and everyone in this season and said no that will not be me this time) joel was also the only winner fighting without a cause. he was just there for the fun of it. for the mindless violence. he never lost anything because he played the game well. his car got blown up but it was always an easy fix. he didn’t pay any mind to his broken alliances so he had no time or knowledge to feel grief or betrayal for them. he and gem were together until the end and never betrayed each other every other winner fought for a person (grian fought against and for scar, scott won by seeking revenge against ren for killing pearl, scott blew himself up in double life so that pearl wouldn’t have to fight anymore, martyn went on a rampage when ren was killed, scar was completely alone and fought for himself and his survival because he had nothing and didn’t even realize when pearl had died) joel is just. in it for the rush- he has no reason for the violence and nothing to loose and nothing to gain

joel is the only winner who’s final death wasn’t in grief either. his final death was meant to be a trap he set up that he never got to use and he ran to it at the end laughing and excited and it failed. the trap failed- and he lived and laughed and ender pearled around until he died. and i saw one post in passing that was like ‘the server took care of him’ and it DID. it’s like this game was perfectly crafted for him- because of course joel wouldn’t die do something as chaotic and unbalanced as the wild cards. who would joel be to die to something he understands so well and channels in every move he makes? he thrives in the chaos and watchers saw him and choose him

grian had a LOT more control in this season than previous because of th wild cards and it’s feeding my watchers symbolism. he is trying to take the reins of the games from the watchers and reduce the violence and grief his friends have to go through so what to do the watchers do? they take his power away. he’s still in control on the wild cards of course, but how well can they work when the watchers are guiding a wild card of their own? and then skizz and mumbo both died due to joel (both indirectly- they died on the tower while trying to get more lives using the minecart trap) and in the end the only person grian is left with is joel who somehow managed to twist every wild card to his advantage and never made as much a misstep this season. ans grian has been too cocky this season, almost playing god with people coming to him for information about the wildcards and how to survive them. and in the end grian does exactly what the watchers wanted anyways and guides joel to victory despite still trying to ruin their game to the very last second and become the first two time winner

I've had to accept that as a Tom fan, he will always attract chaos and controversy without even trying to, lol.

He reminds me of Sisyphus rolling a boulder up that hill. His path for respect will always be a struggle, especially now "Hollywood" wants to knock him down a peg. He has to build back trust again for audiences and just consistently star in great projects.(I was going to write good projects at first but I think because he is so famous, his good is always judged or ignored so he has to be in great projects.)

I hope in 5 years the tables will turn, but my fear for him is that he doesn't really play the hollywood game, if that makes sense. He doesn't mingle with her his peers of goes to fashion shows. Outside of work, he's a homebody and reclusive unless you meet him playing golf. I hate to compare, but Glen and Timothee know how to play the hollywood game because they genuinely want that fame and godlike hold on audiences and peers. Regardless of what happens in their personal lives, the work will always come through. Glen has like a bunch of films coming out this year and the next, same as Timothee. Timothee didn't win the oscar, but as someone who was a casual observer in his campaign, I realised want he was trying to di with those antics. He was divorcing himself from the artsy fanbase and trying to build up his dudebro fanbase. That's why he went on game day and theo von and other platforms that appeal to guys mainly. He was smart, and it's worked in his favour now. His next film he will win that oscar. For Tom, I don't want him to win an oscar per se, but I just wmat him to be in movies of quality and aim for a Tom Cruise like career, but I fear Glen has that in the bag.

Tom has projects in developments without directors attached, which I still find so silly. This mysterious pr route his team is leaning in on is not helping him at all. He needs to be more earnest and try harder. Hes in close proximity to great directors because of Z, him having agents and industry friends, yet he doesn't want to pitch any role to them or take an supporting role, which I find silly, because it feels like he doesn't want to come across desperate. I'm sorry, but he needs to let this passive approach go and embrace the American egoness of wanting to be the greatest, lol😭. The Rock had to pitch a role to Martin Scorsese and reach out to Benny Safdie to change his trajectory, and from a financial point of view, he doesn't need to, he's achieved alot. But he wants to.

Tom's team should want him to work with Tarantino, PTA, Denis Villeneuve, Edward Berger, James Mangold, Joseph Kosinski, Julia Ducournau, Barry Kenkins, Jordan Peele, Danny Boyle, Alex Garland, Trey Shult....I could go on.

He can make money doing anything if he wants to. His attachment o bug franchises doesbt make sense causr he doesnt need them. One of the reasons why he created Bero was because he didn't want to be a shill for any product he wasn't 100% invested in and I agree with that however, outside of the MCU and Uncharted, what's stopping you doing great roles in mid budget projects. Ppl say his personal life, and I disagree with that cause when it comes to his lad's golf trips, he's putting the time and energy to go to that. He's not stupid, and he has a great team, Austin Bulter shares an agent. I understand wanting to be a reclusive artist, but like Sade and DDL, in order for you to be reclusive and deserve that role, you have to be pumping out great films/products.

It's not too late he's 28, but right now, he's fragile cause you got a lot of younger and older actors who are working a lot more than Tom just to get his place in the pecking order. He lost his grit when he gained his lifestyle. When it came to Spiderman, he was working nonstop, and it paid off.

#castiel has been a freak his entire existence#that line in the confession scene always rubbed me the wrong way kinda for this reason#‘i cared about Sam i cared about Jack i cared about the whole world because of you’#because canonically thats not really… true. even early on in s4 Cas says he was praying that Dean would choose to save the whole town#because humans and humanity are beautiful and something to be protected and Castiel believes that whole heartedly. he always has.#and in 4x22 Deans line ‘theres a right and theres a wrong here and YOU KNOW IT.’ and ‘you were ginna help me once before they dragged you#back to bible camp’#like Cas already has a belief system and when he found out about the angels plans in The Rapture he immediately goes and tries to inform#Dean about whats happening. Castiel aleady knows whats right and whats wrong. he didnt learn that or learn about love because Dean just#showed it to him#i think thats partially why God not caring upsets Cas so vehemently in s5. Not just because God was their only hope#but because Castiel believed God held the same desire to protect humanity the way Castiel wanted to. and finding out his father who he’s#been fighting for doesbt actually hold those same beliefs. is kinda devastating.#the difference in on the head of the pin ‘i still serve god’ and the rapture ‘i serve heaven’#also when Cas is away from Naomi in s8 he heals babies. he tries to show kindness and care about Noras baby in s9#ive always thought it would be more accurate to say that Castiel fell in love with Dean because Dean holds so much of what Castiel already#found beautiful in humanity. Yeah, that's beautifully argued, and I think a lot of people have picked up on the same issue.

I think I fall on the side that it only really makes sense IF Cas is undercutting himself, projecting all his positive qualities onto others and leaving none for himself. (Which, of course, echoes Dean too, which is just so lovely!!! AAAAAAAAAAAA)

What surprised me today is realizing that this same tendency of Cas shunting his good qualities/emotions onto humanity actually shows up back in Season 9’s First Born (I was grabbing a screencap and it just hit me like OH NUTS HE'S DOING THE THING THERE TOO).

Building on your point, I think that thread could be perfect fodder for a VERY excellent Season 16. I know we've all talked about this before, but imagine Cas getting ALL his memories back in the Empty, even the ones Naomi erased.

It could trigger such a landslide backwards into a way of thinking along the lines of, "Now I know the truth... I'm a terrible person, Dean. I'm not deserving of any of your care. Please, just go."

Cas has tended to lean towards action and motion, staying focused on the future and trying to move forward despite the weight of his past crimes. He even tells Jack,

CAS: The past, where you come from, that’s important, but it is not as important as the future and where you’re going. & Doesn't mean that just because you made a mistake – and that's what this is, Jack. It's a mistake. That doesn't mean that you can't– can't be better, do better. I believe that. I have to believe that.

At his lowest points, Cas’s even reached for divine meaning to make sense of all the chaos and seemingly meaningless suffering. I think of s7:

CAS: I saw the route of flowers. It's all right there, the whole plan. There's nothing to add. ... We live in a "sorry" universe. It's engineered to create conflict. I mean, why should I prosper from... your misfortune? [CASTIEL puts down a marker and moves DEAN’s marker back to the start.] But these are the rules. I didn't make them.

But if he were suddenly forced to face his past, like... ALL the messy, violent, manipulated, and manipulating past... I don’t even know what it would be. Maybe devastating. Maybe transformative? We've had the Rapture. We've had the Rupture. This could be the Reckoning???

And what if that journey connected to a long-overdue exploration of Dean’s Hell trauma? After all, Dean remembers everything from his time down there. He'd be such a cool and understanding parallel of what Cas is going through...

And if there's one thing that ISN'T explored in-series with Dean and Cas, it's their actual meeting in Hell.

i know it’s used loosely as a joke (which is admittedly just as hilarious and every bit as whimsical as the character A-never-did-anything-wrong phrase)

but real talk for a sec:

caring about a person’s family and then caring about things/people they care about through virtue of knowing and being with them in a supportive unit is a lot how empathy works

i think cas’s 15c18 testament gets taken a bit too literally sometimes, as least for my tastes, and it can come off a little weird imho to use it to diminish the idea of cas caring about other things

and again, maybe this is just my taste, but i view the whole caring thread as more like… a domino effect rather than “the first thing is the de facto realest/deepest/truest thing through which everything else pales in comparison to or must connect back to” (which could… almost read as an amara-coded mentality: “then you went and made all those other things”)

living and growing up in the world is just like this: once you allow yourself to grow and care about things, your world keeps getting bigger and bigger ykwim? (that’s what the whole amara and “our little world” thread echoes for me)

and importantly!!!!

cas cares about things quite naturally on his own… that’s why torture and brainwashing happens to him so early and often… even other angels remark that cas’s heart was always too big

and like dean, i think cas tends… NOT to give himself enough credit for his own caring and emotions… cas grew up under an authoritarian regime that punished him for caring on his own merit, so it’s no surprise he seems much more comfy coat-hangering those “softer” things on humanity or individual humans

but like… consider this.

it’s clear onscreen that even as a full-powered angel, cas REALLY feels guilt, worry, and regret!!! in those early seasons, it’s very obvious! he has values that he wants to act on! he has doubts/regrets/feelings the point other angels point it out!!!

but cas himself later frames his so-called newfound empathy primarily through his human experience; he invokes being hungry and dying it as THE gateway to his overcoming an ends-justify-the-means soldier mentality

when that’s… just categorically NOT what we see onscreen! onscreen, cas had to be tortured OUT of caring. cas had to me memory wiped over and over. like dean, he can’t help but care!!!! i think maybe it’s cas’s romanticization of his own emotions at work here, retroactively tying them to humanity…

and while i do think falling/losing his grace helped cas parse his own emotions, to say being human and dying is “why he can feel guilt now”??? nooooo. hell no. (aside/// cas you are lying to yourself and putting human emotions on a pedestal again… which he will do off and on until s14-15 when he starts verbalizing “humans can be the worst kind of monster.”)

anyway my point is!!!!

i think cas sometimes gives other things or ppl credit when it comes to his own emotions or intuition.

dean tends to undercut himself in this same manner, like when he tells jody that sam is the one who’s good with emotions/talking… when that, again, is not what we see onscreen

the beauty in TFW to me is the resilience and joint effort to continue to try and support that caring heart… through the good, bad, ugly etc

and once you care, you can lose things. you can get disappointed (and intolerance of disappointment is the chuck-coded mentality)

but caring in my head is a bit akin to the whole acting on free will is a group effort angle…

my broader point that i think i’m losing is that consider that… contagious caring does not diminish the later things you come to care openly about. these things that come after come more easily because of having a safe space to express your natural heart as it wants to be expressed…

OH MY GOD I LOVED THIS SHOW. And i will occasionally watch it again it. It was cancelled i think so it ended on a cliffhanger. I loved rory and Ethan though. And benny. But honestly ekko gives ethan energy. Hes the type to be serious (have those visions) while i can definitely see hobie as rory or benny ebcasue of the trickster part. And if hobie was mor like rory hed be a vampire, if hobie was like benny hed be stupid, idiotic, and have magic. Which he could obtain from a spiderbit. That makes sense, and he uses his spellbook to nnow how to cast it. And the babysitter, sarah, is more serious and trying to watch over the two. And mostly at first she doesbt want to accept shes a vampire or was bitten. So she doenst drink human blood because she doesbt wanna become a full fledged vampire like rory or her best friend (forgot her best friends name)

I loved this show so so much. This might be messy but i hope you enjoyed a synopsis on the show. And who id think would be the most similar to who. Also a lot of the time aethan and benny are the reasons for their monsters, a lot of their spells go wrong or they put themselves in dangerous ro stupid situations. Only in some its not their fault on why monsters are there

Thinking about "My Babysitter's a Vampire" but Reader is the Babysitter and Ekko and Hobie are the two boys (but they're not related and Reader is actually babysitting Hobie's little brother)

The cgi was so bad but I remember LOVING this series when I was like 12yo 😅

It's funnier in my head but I think like, R putting the kid to sleep and when the two boys are distracted, they're munching on bloody meat in the kitchen, cheeks with splashes of red.

I like to think they're like Dumb and Dumber so when they see it they think R is just one of those naturalists who eat everything raw and without spices, not noticing their fangs.

They actually understand who Reader is when monsters start to appear in the house and they're more than ready to protect them.
