Maverick and Rooster aren't going to be able to immediately fall back to what they were. They care for each other deeply, and saved each others life on the mission, but this sort of shit needs time. One conversation isn't going to cut it with those two.
Look: I like the idea of them falling back into what they were before just as much as the next person, but that's.... not what realistically would happen. And that's ok! It makes sense for them not to know what to do with each other at the start.
For the record: I'm also not blaming anyone for writing fics about them immediately going back to the father-son or uncle-nephew dynamic because, because come on. It's cute as HECK! I'd just like to think about how to explore their feelings and hang-ups about each other in dept!
They're both stubborn fucks and this has been simmering for far too long for anything to be resolved instantly with a single conversation. Bradley un-learned how to talk honestly to people the day he left, and Mav's scared about what honesty can bring. They've sat on this pot for so long they no longer feel it burning their asses, and forgot what they put in the damn thing in the first place, so they stay there. On top of it. Still burning their asses.
Bradley holds onto grudges like it's a lifeline, and one mission isn't going to change that. He listened to Mav in the canyon because he rescinded what he had said with his actions. Mav said that he 'wasn't ready' but then chose Rooster as his wingman, communicating that he is ready and that he trusts him with his life. But that was a life or death situation that Rooster was both present in and could interfere in if he so chose. He saved Mav because he didn't want him to die, and they seem more inclined to deal with it back on the boat, but it's still a long road ahead.
What happened was they rekindled their care for each other, because neither had ever truly given up on it in the first place. Mav never stopped caring and knew it, Bradley did the same without knowing. This just so happens to be the first time they're forced to deal with each other since the fallout.
Just because they care about each other doesn't erase the history that's separated them for all of this time. In fact, it probably makes it worse.
Bradley thought highly of Mav, and he didn't live up to it. Mav wanted the best for Bradley, and did what he thought would be best. Their problems came from the root of care. And it's more bittersweet because of it.
Because of it, resentment and guilt have settled over their shoulders, respectively, and it refused to go away.
They talk, and they try, but it's still not great.
Mav is inclined to just sweep it all under a rug and ignore the lump it forms on the floor. Because of his guilt, he takes all of the blame and sugarcoats Bradley's part in said blame to try and make up for it. Bradley is just as fault as Mav is, but Mav doesn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth.
So instead of fixing things, they look slightly less crooked, but not entirely right. It's a 'their problem' not 'his problem'. They're both at fault, and they both need to deal with it.
Maverick refuses to give up any of the blame, and Bradley is going to refuse to take any of it.
Sure, Mav fucked up, but Bradley blew it out of proportions. Storming off and refusing to talk is a normal response, but not for fifteen years. He barely let Mav explain himself.
Everything "wrong" about himself he blames on Mav. He thinks that Mav fucked him up by breaking his trust as his father figure, so he doesn't trust anybody anymore. He thinks that him being completely emotionally stunted and sensitive to critique is Mav's fault because of the 'your not ready' comment.
Thing is, it's his own fault. It's his fault that he's been fucked up for so long because he never tried to fix what was broken. It's not Bradley's fault that Mav pulled his papers, but he threw away everything, everyone he had before because of a single (justifiable!) mistake. And he doesn't recognize it for what it is, and refuses the blame. Carting it all off to Mav instead of dealing with his own shortcomings.
Mav is aware of this (that Rooster refuses to take the blame), but agreed with Rooster in his analysis of the situation, and takes it all on himself, which is not a healthy mechanism for either of them. It pats Rooster on the head for somewhere he fucked up on, and overloads Mav with guilt that shouldn't be that intense and deep.
But they don't know this. So Mav isn't angry at Rooster, because he's blindsighted by his care.
Thing is, I want someone to be angry. I want someone to be offended on Mav's behalf because he himself won't do it. I don't know who it would be, could be a good number of people, maybe even a child OC.
For fifteen years Bradley left without looking back. He left, and Mav suffered. Someone saw that. Someone was there with him all or most of those years, sitting right beside him as his guilt grew with every holiday that went by, with every letter or call left unanswered.
The obvious option is Ice. However, I want to pull away from that option, because if Ice is dead (stay with me now) it only creates more conflict, more nuance to what's going on.
Bradley cut Mav out of his life, and it's implied that he cut out any association with him too. That includes Ice.
What if he never spoke to Ice either for those fifteen years? Ice died. Bradley went to his funeral. Bradley went to his funeral as a fellow aviator, as an underling obeying orders.
Bradley's face in that funeral was blank.
That is the face of a man watching the burial of someone he once could potentially have considered a father figure that he hadn't spoken with for fifteen years. And he's never going to be able to speak to him again.
At that funeral, I don't think he regretted it. Sad, maybe, but no regret.
The regret only hit later.
He got to mend things with Mav after the Uranium Mission and beyond, but that is no longer possible with Ice.
Bradley regretted what he did, how he neglected them for years, but he regretted it too late for one of them.
I think Brad probably ended up at Ice's grave at some point, and owned up to everything he didn't– couldn't– own up to at the funeral. And he fucking sobbed. Begged. Apologized, over and over.
This is the reason I suggested maybe a child OC, because if the child is Icemav's or just Ice's, Bradley's gonna have a warped perception of them. (Note: When I say "child" I mean that it was their child as in gender neutral for son/daughter, it doesn't necessarily mean the person in question should be an actual kid.)
Bradley's gonna see that kid as penance.
And they're gonna fucking hate him for it.
Bradley is going to look at them and see Ice, and they're gonna hate him for it. Their father is dead, and for the last fifteen years of his life he'd never been truly happy because this prick never bothered to own up to his mistakes. Not even at the funeral Bradley owned up to his shortcomings, and now all of a sudden he waltzes right back like he never left? What the fuck!
Bradley could have done this, idk like a week sooner? But he only came to his senses after Ice died. Their father died and Bradley barely looked like he cared is what they're going to think. But all of a sudden, he goes on a suicide mission and almost died and he's suddenly back? Because when his own life is in danger he changes his mind, but when Ice died he couldn't care less? What the fuck!
That man went to that funeral as a subordinate, not as the son he was.
The kid doesn't have the tinted lenses Mav has on about Bradley. All the resentment Mav doesn't feel, this kid is going to feel for him.
Bradley is going to understand their resentment because of Ice, and is going to focus on fixing that part with them, without noticing that the resentment isn't just because of Ice, it's about Mav too.
The kid is going to be pissed because they are not Ice. Bradley is going to be too worried about making it up to a dead man through his child that he's going to neglect the very much still alive man he ALSO has to make amends with.
But Ice didn't have a direct hand in pulling his papers, so Bradley understands his mistake with him (he shouldn't have cut him out over someone else's mistake). Mav, however, did have a direct hand and he's still bitter about it. And the kid sees it. They see him doing exactly that.
Bradley is focusing on the wrong thing, because he's trying to redeem himself in an impossible way, trying to answer to someone who no longer demands it.
He goes after it because the silence is a more comfortable answer than the conflict he's bound to face from someone who's still alive.
In the process, he's going to hurt Mav.
Bradley's gonna be so caught up in making it up to Ice (the one he can no longer make up to) that he doesn't think to properly make it up to Mav (the one he can still make it up to) because he thinks he has to.
Ice is gone. Ice is gone and there's nothing he can do about it. And If he'd just changed his mind earlier maybe there could have been. Admittedly, Ice still would have died, but maybe he'd have died more settled than he did. He'd have died with the knowledge that his son came back. That his son still cared. But he didn't, and Bradley hates himself for it.
So, he veers to the kid. He doesn't outright apologize other than the first time, but he's gonna treat them like either a piece of glass or a carbon copy of his father figure. Regardless, they're going to hate him for it.
It's not them he cares for, it's what he sees them as. They can see straight through his bullshit because there's no deep emotional connection there to blind them.
They could try to care and love for him for Mav's sake, but it'd be much better if it were on their own terms, that Bradley would care for them as them and not as Ice's child.
On top of that, the neglect Bradley has for Mav is humongous. And he himself doesn't see it because the resentment he feels is still there. Mav was the one who pulled his papers. He blames Mav for his own decisions.
He's alone, and he blames Mav. He doesn't let anyone in or near, and he blames Mav. But it wasn't Mav that made him shut everyone out, he did that on his own.
He hasn't thought about why Mav did what he did, choosing to believe what Mav claimed to be the reason. It's blatantly obvious that Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell of all people would never stop someone from going to the Academy because he thought they aren't capable. That's what they did to him, he's not going to do that to someone who is virtually his son.
Bradley was irrational and stuck to that irrationality for fifteen years. He used the emotional stuntedness he himself created as a guise to not actually process what happened. He refused to think about it, and still does.
He and Mav reconnected after the mission, but it's a frail margin. Bradley was more inclined to listen because he's confused that Mav cares at all. In his rage, he didn't notice that he did it out of love, and doesn't know what to do with it. The entire training, he's confused, pissed and uncertain all the while.
He still doesn't know the real reason Mav did what he did, and doesn't understand the love he still sees in his eyes. Rooster thought that he shattered everything he had with Mav when he felt, most of all cemented it with all the time spent in that state.
By the end of the movie, he knows for certain that Mav loves him, and understands that he, himself, never stopped loving Mav either, despite what he claimed.
Bradley wanted to be a pilot because of his dad. Goose wasn't a pilot. Maverick was.
The betrayal hit him harder because he wasn't running after Goose, he was looking up to Mav. He wanted to be like Mav.
And he became a pilot, even when Mav pulled his papers, even after having the person he did it all for ripped him into shreds. He still did it.
He still wanted to be like Mav. Deep down, he still saw him as a role model even through all of the repression.
But he still doesn't know why. He doesn't know why Mav did what he did, because Maverick himself refused to say why.
Mav isn't going to be doing great either. He fucked up, and he fucked up big time. He shouldn't have pulled Bradley's papers, period. I know about Carole, but still. He should have communicated with Brad about it, and they'd fight about it, but Bradley wouldn't have walked out to never return then.
To worsen matters, Maverick has a horrendous martyr complex that makes him take the brunt of Bradley's resentment instead of Carole, the actual perpetrator.
Over the years, he's blamed himself more and more every year that passed, but I don't believe he ever regretted it.
He fulfilled Carole's last wish. It didn't stop Rooster from becoming a pilot. He gave both of them what they wanted.
But he's trying to protect the Carole Bradley has in his head because he doesn't want to stain his memory of her as he did with himself. This has been discussed a hundred times over, so I will try to be brief.
Mav is scared that instead of him, Bradley's gonna resent his mother. His dying, cripple mother that said that in her death bed. His widow mother who saw her husband die in the skies and didn't want her baby boy to have the same fate. His sorrowful mother that had to watch her friend, someone she considered a little brother, keep going up into those same skies and hear all the whispers the people on the ground flung upon him because of it.
So he took it all on himself. Because he sees himself as expendable in favor of her.
So, safe to say he's not going to be the one to tell Bradley the truth. Because of it, Bradley's resentment is going to continue to fester.
After the mission, Bradley knows that Mav's not telling him everything, but he refuses to talk about it so what the hell is he going to do?
They fix things well enough for them to talk to each other, but don't make it too deep in fear of opening up more wounds instead of stitching the old ones back together.
Mav thinks this is as good as he can get. Bradley is annoyed at Mav's hesitance.
Despite mending things, Bradley is still going to think all of his problems are Mav's fault. And he's a petty bitch, so he won't let it slide.
He hasn't properly processed it due to the lack of information, and can't let go because of it.
He's going to slip in dry comments about how Mav affected his mental health and life because of what he did. He's going to be cagey about everything that happened in the in between. He's not going to know basic shit about Mavericks life because he refuses to acknowledge that he was wrong in more than one way.
And Mav's gonna fucking take it.
He's not gonna say anything, not gonna even defend himself because he thinks he deserves it.
Bradley is a stubborn fuck whose pride has been hurt once, and refuses to acknowledge that it could be hurt again. He's just like Mav when he was younger, but ten times worse in the emotional department (I have no fucking idea how he managed that, but he did).
So yeah, soon enough they're going to be balls deep in miscommunication with grudges held close to their chest.
Maverick wants to communicate but doesn't want to communicate a very important piece of information that could potentially make things better and Bradley straight up doesn't want to if he doesn't have to.
Which means they're going to come to a stand-still. And someone is gonna have to interfere.
If I were to guess, it'd either be Slider or Sarah (Kazansky). Regardless if Sarah is Ice's sister or wife (up to interpretation), she knew how important Mav was to Ice and obviously cares about him too from the few scenes we got of her. Slider also knows, and it's obvious he also genuinely cares about Mav too despite claiming otherwise.
I'd honestly vote for Slider to be the one to do it, simply because he'd also see the Ice favoritism and the Mav neglect, and would pull Bradley's ear about it to hell and back. Because he also knew Goose, and this... entire thing is not something Goose would be happy about, at all. Slider has a much more subdued connection to Bradley, so he'd have no qualms about calling him out on everything.
Especially if he ever found out that Bradley said 'My dad trusted you, I'm not going to make the same mistake.' I sorely believe Slider would end up in jail if he ever heard about that one.
If Sarah were the one to do it, she'd probably be more understanding and much less violent than Slider, but she'd be blunt. That's still someone she cares deeply for they're talking about, and she also saw all of it. She wouldn't sugar coat what needs to be said, but she'd be understanding too. Not you did nothing wrong kind of understanding, but a you had your reasons to be upset kind of understanding.
Either of them would probably do this without Maverick's consent, because that's the only way to get it done.
When Bradley finally comes to know exactly why Mav did what he did, he's gonna be in shambles. Not only for Mav, but for himself.
His entire life has been built around that single happenstance and now it's gone, he was wrong. He was so wrong. He can't go back to being the way he was, he doesn't remember how he was.
He's gonna have to start over, rebuild himself from the ground up to be someone better and spare everyone in his life the suffering. Everyone in his life has suffered the consequences of his resentment. He doesn't know if he can make up for it.
To start over, step number one is apologize.
This right here is were he finally lets his ego drop, and fully apologizes to Mav. Finally owns up to his mistakes to the person that deserves it most. He's not gonna leave Mav be, he's definitely going to demand a full explanation from him and then is going to scold him for it, but he's gonna finally fully let go of the grudge he held this entire time.
That's to say, everything isn't a sea of roses.
Maverick isn't the only person he needs to apologize to, and on top of it, Maverick is probably the only one who is going to let him down easy.
Bradley is going to be on a tight leash with everybody else for a while, and they don't have any hold ups about calling him out on his bullshit. He's going to need to learn how to take critique to improve himself rather than read it as a straight up insult that he's going to get mad about.
Maverick is going to need to learn that Bradley isn't going to up and leave, and that he shouldn't hold himself to such low standards. Not only that, he's also going to need to learn that Bradley is bound to make mistakes just like any other human.
Bradley is still gonna fuck up in some places, but he's gonna be better at recognizing it. Mav's also gonna fuck up sometimes, but he's going to get better at accepting it and moving on.
With time, Mav is going to call Bradley out on his bullshit too, and Bradley is going to do the same when Mav starts doing his 'I'm less important than other people' shit.
They're going to be sad about it because they think that the reason the other does some of the things they do is because of themselves, but that's a story for another time.
They try. That's what matters.

It's not a one night stand if it turns into two
Tumblr media
Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Basically just Jake falling for his FWB.
Warnings: some smut, p in v, no physical describtion of reader, no use of Y/N, Jake getting attached, jealousy, sudden love confessions, fluff, maybe a little bit of Angst if you squint your eyes?, swearing
Notes: First smutty fanfic on here lmao go wild yall. All I have to say is Im in love with Glen Powell and so I automatically love Hangman too. Also the title is inspired by a Måneskin Song!
Once again, English isn't my first language so I'm sorry about any mistakes. Also, I didn't prove read this so just be warned.
Story under the cut! ✂️
He simply couldn't take this eyes off of you. The way you were standing at the bar, slightly leaning onto it as you were talking to Penny. The way your dress was hugging your body, perfectly showing off everything. Everything he had already seen but couldn't get enough off.
His mind drifted off to the first night you spent together. He didn't even remember anymore how you two ended up in bed together, but it was amazing.
Jake could basically still hear your whines and moans. They were music to his ears.
"Jake, oh, oh god- please!" You whined and begged, craving release. The room was filled with the sound of skin slapping against skin, your shared moans and the headboard banging against the wall.
He was so big and he was fucking you so well. You always thought he gave off big dick energy but jesus- this was even more than expected, but you weren't going to complain.
"That's right, just like that- you're bein' such a good girl." He groaned, his hips bucking hard. The feeling of your pussy clenching around him drove him wild, not to mention you moaning and whining his Name.
You ended up coming on his cock, screaming his name. This wasn't your first and definitely not the last orgasm of the night.
"Seresin? Christ, are you even listening?"
He snapped back out of his thoughts as he looked back at Rooster, who by now just looked annoyed. "Sorry, I uh- yeah, I'm listenin'" Jake quickly mumbled and tried to pull himself together.
You both were friends and had told yourselves after the first time it wouldn't happen again. Well, that was 4 night stands ago.
Jake would never admit it to himself, but he was going crazy over you. Not only because of the way you fucked, but also because of your whole being. The way you lit up whenever someone talked to you, how you would sometimes nervously fiddle with your fingers or the hem of your shirt, the way you looked at him with a soft sparkle in your eyes.
But he was also obsessed with the way your hands buried in his hair, your legs wrapped around his hips as he filled you up, the way you held onto his biceps as you rode him.
But he would never admit that. He would never admit the way his heart fluttered whenever you cuddled close to him after sex. The way his heart actually also reacted whenever you kissed him, not only his cock.
The Jake 'Hangman' Seresin falling for someone? Never. He was never the kind of man to actually fall for someone and even think about settling down. But something about you felt different, even if it was only physical, for now.
By now Bradley had completely given up trying to talk to Jake. He just rolled his eyes and joined Phoenix and Bob instead.
Jake's eyes were focused on you the whole time, he was surprised you hadn't turned around at least once to catch him staring. You were still engrossed in a conversation with Penny until she had to serve other customers. You leaned back, grabbing your drink and taking a few sips until you were suddenly approached by a man.
Jake had hoped at first he just wanted to ask where the restroom was or something but when he didn't leave your side, Jake felt something boiling inside of him. His jaw clenched as he saw you laughing and happily talking with that guy.
He didn't even understand why you were so focused on that rando. He wasn't even half as handsome as Jake, hell, even Bradley was more handsome in Jake's eyes!
His patience ran out the moment you pulled out your phone, seemingly to give your number to that ass of a man as Jake mentally called him that.
His legs seemed to have a mind of their own as they stormed towards you. Hangman grabbed your shoulder and quickly turned you around to him, earning shocked looks from both you and that guy.
"What the—"
"What the hell are you doin'? I thought we were a thin'!"
God, that stupid southern accent basically made you wanna melt right then and there.
"Wha- I thought you only saw us as some quick fun!" You protested.
"Are you kiddin' me?! Do you think I'm sleepin' with other girls besides you?"
"....."
Jake frowned at your silence which was basically the most direct answer.
"Listen, I don't usually do shit like this. Normally I move on quickly but you put some kind of spell or somethin' on me because you make my damn heart flutter every time our gazes meet. And I love the way you laugh, I love the way you tease me, I love the way you make fun of me. And I fuckin' hate seeing you with a man that isn't me. So quit your bullshit with this guy and finally go on a proper date with me!"
Jake didn't even think, it was all just blurting out.
You looked like your eyes were about to pop out, you stared at him in complete disbelief. Were you dreaming or something?
"Please say somethin' so I know I didn't mess this up."
"Shut up and kiss me, Seresin" You muttered and promply pulled him in.
This kiss felt so different from all the other ones you shared. This one was so full of emotions and passion. Your hand rested on his cheek, as his hands found their place on your waist.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7." Jake grinned.
You didn't even mind he had just decided that, you were looking forward to that date.
"See you then, cowboy." You grinned and pressed another quick kiss on his lips.

Too Much to Lose | Rooster x Reader
Summary: Leaving for deployments had always been rough, but then Bradley met you, and the time apart and risk involved made the ache even stronger. But nothing felt quite as isolating and scary as acknowledging that he had to leave his pregnant wife with an uncertain future. Now more than ever, he had too much to lose.
Warnings: Angst, panic attack, mentions of smut, pregnancy topics
Length: 2300 words
Pairing: Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Female Reader
This was written to accompany my series Is It Working For You? along with a bunch of my one-shots and other series, but it can be read on its own! Check my masterlist for the reading order.
Tumblr media
Bradley hated that he felt like he was going through the motions. You'd been clinging to him all day long, your eyes always on the verge of tears. His bags were packed, his flight would leave tomorrow morning, and there was nothing left for him to do at this point except wait. Wait for your tears to spill over. Wait for one last look at you for who knows how long. Wait for the official start of another deployment.
Getting hard for you was not the problem. Your lips were on his body, and his name was the only word you seemed capable of saying. Nothing ever felt as good as your touch, and you always smelled sweet. Best of all, you were carrying his baby. But the doubt still crept in, even as his body rocked against yours, even as he filled you up. Because for Bradley, this felt exactly like those months when you and he had been desperately trying to get pregnant. It felt like the two of you were focusing on an uncertain outcome instead of each other.
"I love you, Roo."
You had just uttered the most perfect words in your state of bliss, but he couldn't fully accept them. Why did you love him? How the fuck could you? Your hands came up to caress his face, and he was completely helpless to do a god damn fucking thing besides come for you.
"Oh god," he grunted, practically crying as you kissed his scars before gradually going limp beneath him. You were smiling as you rolled onto your side, but instead of joining you for one last cuddle, he made his excuses to retreat to the bathroom.
Bradley splashed some cool water on his face and examined himself in the mirror. All he saw was someone who didn't know what he was doing. Someone who wasn't good enough for you. He hadn't felt this way a few days ago, rather he'd been absorbed with shopping for the baby. But the fear started to creep in around the edges today, and now it felt like it could strangle him if he let it.
Leaving home in this state could only spell disaster, but he couldn't shake it. At least when he finally managed to walk back into the bedroom, you were asleep on his pillow with one leg under the blanket and one on top. You could always make him smile, but this time when he did, he thought about what would happen next if he didn't come back. What would happen if he was no longer here to claim that pillow as his own.
He checked his will a few days ago, and the thing was ironclad. It all went to you. Every last penny and possession. But that wasn't what had him rattled. Everything was ten times more exciting and also ten times scarier with the baby on the way. He had too much to lose.
He kissed your forehead and then your belly, and he pulled the blanket over both of your legs, and then he went out to the living room with Tramp at his heels. The house still smelled delicious; you'd made him Marry Me Rooster and lemon cupcakes for dinner. You always pulled out the stops when he was leaving, and he loved you for it. But what the fuck were you getting in return?
He grabbed his phone from where he'd left it on the kitchen counter. You and he had been sharing a plate of dinner while he started to consider what your life would be like without him. You'd have the baby here with you, but you'd really be alone. It was too hard to breathe while he thought about it, so he unlocked his phone and dialed the only person who wouldn't think he'd gone completely off the deep end with his request.
"Bradshaw. Shouldn't you be enjoying your wife before you fly off into the sunset?"
"Hangman," he rasped, walking to the couch and collapsing down onto it. "I need to talk to you."
There was a brief pause before Jake said, "I'm all ears."
Bradley cleared his throat, feeling like an absolute idiot as he said, "I bought a jungle gym playset for my backyard. A really big one. For the baby."
Jake hummed and said, "Right." And somehow that was enough to make Bradley keep going.
"It's on pallets. On my driveway. There's an instruction book on top of my refrigerator. Everything should be here."
"Okay," Jake said quietly.
Bradley swallowed and swallowed, his throat burning as he managed to force out the rest of the words. "If anything happens to me, I need you to... build it."
The only thing he could hear was Jake's soft breathing before he muttered, "Shit."
Bradley ran his palm back and forth over his face as tears streaked down his cheeks. "Hangman. I need you to promise. I need that fucking thing in the yard."
"Yeah," Jake grunted. "Yeah, I promise."
Bradley sucked in a deep breath before he added, "And I need you to promise to take care of her. Take care of them. Make sure she knows you're around if they need something. Make sure she knows she can go to you and Cat for help."
There was no way to tell if the barely controlled sobs were his own or Jake's as he held the phone tighter to his ear, waiting for an answer. "Yeah, Rooster. I'll take care of Angel. I promise."
Bradley managed to choke out two words before ending the call. "Thank you." His phone fell from his hand onto the floor, and he curled up on his side. He thought about his dad. Goose died during a training exercise. If the most basic parts of Bradley's job could become deadly, he was honestly tempting fate at this point. Was this still the right thing to do? With a baby on the way? He wasn't so sure anymore.
Both of his parents were gone before he was an adult. If he made it just a few more years, he would live to be older than either of them had. This wasn't the first time he'd thought about that number, but right now, he was having a hard time catching his breath.
Forty. Carole died when she was forty years old.
Thirty-seven. Bradley was just three years away.
"Fuck," he gasped as he rolled onto his back, pressing the heels of his hands to his eyes. He was nauseous and dizzy, and his chest was aching like there was something pressing down on him. Something heavy. He shouldn't leave you alone now, because he might never come back. He might never get to meet the Nugget who he was already so in love with. The baby might never have a dad at all, but at least Bradley got to have one of those for a short time. He could remember little bits of how it felt when Nick Bradshaw picked him up, and the soft laughter in his voice when he read a bedtime story. But the Nugget deserved more than that. This baby deserved everything, including a dad who was already so devoted that it hurt. A perfect mom and a loving dad, just like Bradley had once upon a time.
He could feel Tramp licking his elbow and whimpering, but he couldn't open his eyes. He couldn't move at all. He needed to catch his breath. He started counting in his head but couldn't keep track of how far he'd gotten. He wanted to meet his kid. He needed to.
"Bradley?"
Your voice was the most perfect sound in the world, and when you spoke his name, he had a visceral reaction to it. Then your hand was on his cheek, and the heavy feeling lifted away a little bit.
"Oh, Bradley."
You replaced your hand with your lips, and he could feel how warm you were as your body came to rest on his. Your voice and touch invaded him in place of that terrifying weight on his chest. He felt safer because it was you. And the baby, too. When he opened his eyes, you looked concerned, and he hated to be the cause of that.
His voice didn't sound like his own, but you looked relieved as he said, "Sweetheart."
All he could focus on was the steady stroking of your fingers through his hair and your lips on his. "Tell me what's wrong, Roo," you whispered between soft kisses. "Talk to me."
He wasn't sure how long it took or how you managed to do it, but he ended up sitting on the couch with you curled up in his lap, ready to talk. Your cheek was resting against his heart, and his hand was under his old gym shirt that you were wearing, pressed to your belly. He wanted to tell you everything he was thinking. He wanted you to understand. But all he could say was, "I'm scared."
You nodded and hummed softly. "Me too."
When he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you in tighter, he asked, "Then why do I keep doing this? The last thing I'd ever want to do is scare you."
Your fingers found their way back up into his hair. "It's scarier this time, because of the baby," you whispered. "But you're an amazing pilot, and you love flying, and that's important, too."
"Not as important as you," he swore immediately. "Never as important as the Nugget. I just don't know if the risk is worth it anymore." He swallowed hard but let the tears slide down his cheeks again. "What if I burn in or get shot down before the baby is even born? Then what? Because I had no fucking clue until pretty recently how badly I want to be a dad."
"Come here," you whispered, your arms winding around his neck as you straddled his hips. You didn't seem alarmed by this conversation as you ran the tip of your nose back and forth along his cheek, letting him get used to feeling calm again. "It's all risky, Roo. All of it. We've talked about it before, and the facts are never going to change. But being married to you is worth it. Having to figure out how to potentially live without you is a risk I'm willing to take for the chance to be with you now."
"Fuck," he whispered, melting into your touch.
"You're worth everything," you told him sincerely. "Getting to hold you right now is worth every bad feeling that might come later."
All he could do was nod, because he felt exactly the same way about you. But there was another layer. Another wrinkle. It was with a steadier voice that he managed to say, "I don't want to end up like my parents. Or worse... I don't want to miss the chance to meet the baby altogether."
You leaned away from him a little bit, running your knuckles gently along his cheek. "You promised me you would always fight for the chance to come home again."
"Always. Please, don't ever doubt that I will fight until my last breath, Baby Girl."
Now you had tears in your eyes. "I never knew I could feel this loved. And you've already given the Nugget so much of yourself through your notebooks and your little private conversations with my belly where you pretend I can't hear you." Bradley laughed as you touched his face and neck. You kissed his forehead and whispered, "He or she is going to be just like you. I can tell already. And you'll fight your way back home to find out for sure."
"I will," he promised, throat tight with love instead of fear this time. "God, I fucking adore you."
As he ran his thumb around the diamond in your engagement ring which once belonged to his mother, you said, "I know it."
Twenty minutes later, once Bradley felt almost completely calm again, you stood and disappeared into the kitchen. He missed your warmth immediately. It was late now, and he knew you both needed to get a good night of sleep, but you insisted you knew what else would make him feel better. Just when he was about to say that the only thing he wanted to do was hold you in bed, you returned with a plate and a steaming mug.
You settled onto his lap again, so certain that was where you belonged and where he always wanted you. He took a sip of the tea while you nibbled on the lemon cupcake, then you held it up to his lips for him to take a bite. He ate half of it in one go, making you smile.
When you took another nibble, he whispered, "I'll be home in no time. Back with my perfect wife. My family."
You gently shoved the rest of the cupcake into his mouth as you smiled and said, "We'll be here waiting for you."
You started kissing his scars as he chewed and muttered, "Let's go to bed, Sweetheart."
He was still thinking about his brief conversation with Jake as you stretched out on your back and let him run one big hand along your belly and down to your tattoo. Bradley touched you everywhere, memorizing the softness and flawless warmth of your body with the Nugget. He would come back home to this because he had to. He would be here to construct the jungle gym himself. There was simply no other choice.
"I love you both."
---------------------------
That phone call between Bradley and Jake made me cry. Bradley has been dreaming of that jungle gym playset in the backyard for so long, he needs the guarantee that it will happen for his Nugget even if he's not there to see it through to the end. BG always knows what to do when he's struggling, but she's not going to be there to take care of him while he's deployed. In the next one-shot, we'll see how Bradley and Payback are holding up while away. Thanks @mak-32 and @beyondthesefourwalls and everyone who reads and interacts and makes this pairing so fun to write!

a/n: this one is simply a short filthy blurb for this man. i wrote it faster than i intended to, but the inspo was alive the other night. it was a nice change of pace to write something like this compared to the angst i usually give him. which don't worry there will be more angst coming. also...yes the gif was necessary. his tongue is the main character in this one.
day fifteen - cunnilingus + cum eating | kinktober 2023
summary: "you’d call him insatiable, addicted without any way to appease the craving he had. and you’d be entirely right. he was addicted."
word count: 1k+
pairing: bradley 'rooster' bradshaw x f!reader
warnings: EXPLICIT SO MINORS DNI, cunnilingus, oral (f receiving), cum eating, assplay, ass eating, sex in a public place kinda, bradley being unhinged.

You’d call him insatiable, addicted without any way to appease the craving he had. And you’d be entirely right. He was addicted. Unable to stop himself from needing a taste of you, a small amount to hold himself over until the next time. But those small promises of ‘let me do this baby I need it’ soon became so much more. Which is usually how you ended up in this position.
The noise of the bar was muffled through the bathroom door, but you couldn’t have focused on it even if you tried. Halfway through the night after two hours of playing pool and chatting with the boys, he had dragged you back here. The hunger was clear in his slightly glazed eyes. Although you wanted to bet no part of him was drunk on the alcohol he’d been consuming.
If there’s one thing about Bradley it was that his tolerance outmatched everyone at the bar. Able to drink each of them under the table two times over. A feat he’d tested several times.
Your hands were pressed to the door, head hanging forward, teeth digging into your bottom lip so hard you could taste copper. Except it was the only thing keeping you quiet as he knelt behind you. Tugging up your dress and sliding your lace panties down your legs. They pooled around your ankles, the color three shades darker than usual. A light pink now turned a mauvy purple. He grunted at the sight, hands cupping your ass as you arched your back towards him and that’s how you knew…he had you.
“So fucking gorgeous,” he mumbled, eyes stuck on the way your pussy was shiny with slick, your arousal clear. “How long have you been like this baby?”
You sucked in a breath. “Hours.”
“Poor baby.” He spread your ass, a moan getting caught in your throat at the obscene way he stared. “Shoulda told me. I’d have taken care of you.”
“Fuck.”
His cheek pressing to the back of your thigh, breath hot against your skin and it did nothing but make you squirm. “I can fucking smell you.”
“Bradley,” you whined, your hips pushing back slightly. You heard him chuckle and it made your cheeks burn, body practically shaking with need. “Don’t tease me. I can’t take—”
Your gasp was sharp, body slumping against the door when his mouth sealed over your pussy. Tongue sliding through your folds—his moan vibrating through you. When it came to eating you out Bradley was messy. He loved how he could turn you incoherent. How his touch brought you to life. He sucked at your clit, the sound echoed in the small confines of the bathroom, making you feel debauched. As if he wanted the whole bar to hear how he ate your pussy.
How much he enjoyed it.
“Tastes like fuckin’ heaven,” he mumbled, spreading you even further and pressing his tongue at your entrance.
“Oh god,” you moaned, cheek pressing to the door when he pushed forward, thrusting the wet muscle into you as his thumb found your clit. Sliding along it with quick movements.
His moan was loud—depraved—as he licked at you like you were the tastiest thing in this fucking bar. Although to Bradley you were. To him you were the sweetest slice of life that he could have. The lucky charm that he’d always searched for. You were everything he’d ever wanted and then some. Which is why the craving he consistently had, the addiction he had to your taste—your sounds—never eased.
Pulling away, he glanced at the way your eyes had fluttered closed, mouth parted and chest heaving. Eventually someone would come looking for you. If not that then the bathroom would be occupied by others. Yet he wanted to take his time. To strip you of everything except his touch—desperate to watch as you fell apart over and over again. Unfortunately that wasn’t something he could do here. So he dove back in, ripping a high pitched moan from your throat.
Two fingers curled into your wet heat, nudging perfectly against that spot that made your legs shake in your heels. The feeling of pleasure burned through you, shoving you towards an earth-shattering peak. One Bradley loved to drag you over.
“‘M gonna do this again when we get home,” he said, biting into the flesh of your ass. “I’ll eat you on the kitchen table like a proper fuckin’ meal.”
“Ah fuck I’m g-gonna—”
His tongue slid through your folds, a moan being pressed to your pussy that you felt in your toes. “Want to feel you baby.”
You were right on the edge. The sensations that coursed through you nearly sent you to your knees, but Bradley was holding you up. Keeping you stable as he had his way with you. The feeling of his spit hitting your asshole, trickling down to your pussy shoved a shocked moan up your throat. His tongue sliding along the tight puckered hole, sending you even higher.
“Don’t stop. Please, fuck.”
He moaned, fingers speeding up and tongue pressing forward. His other hand sliding up, thumb pressing into your ass, sent you flying over the edge. You slapped a hand over your mouth in an attempt to muffle your shout as you came. Gushing over his fingers and trembling against the door. He groaned, continuing to lick at you until you reached behind you and shoved at his head. Unable to take much more.
“I got you baby.”
You gasped, pressing your hands on the door to give you some leverage to stay upright. Only for him to lick through your pussy again, dragging a high pitched whine from your lips.
“B-Bradley I can’t—”
“I know honey.” Yet he didn’t stop, drinking you down with sloppy wet sounds that made your heart race. “Let me just taste you. Need it so fucking bad.”
Your eyes rolled back when he sucked your clit into his mouth, your cum now smeared across his chin. Shiny proof of what he’d been doing. You didn’t stop him this time. Fully ready to collapse on the floor as he licked at you, moans echoing in the room as he devoured you. He was starved and who were you to deny him his favorite meal? The taste of you.

Now that the topic of sex had been discussed, you felt totally and completely comfortable with Bradley.
He didn’t want to rush into things if you didn’t, and that turned you on, strangely enough.
When Bradley left your place after that not-as-embarrassing as you thought it would be talk with him, you were left wanting him more than ever. How did you land yourself such a great boyfriend? And why did it take you so long to realize that the way Luke treated you was not at all the way a boyfriend should?
With Bradley, it felt right, it felt easy. He made you feel wanted and desired and like he actually wanted to be with you. When you were with Luke, it felt that way in the beginning, but slowly things started to fade, and it started pretty much right when he began asking for blowjobs and stating that you would get nothing in return.
Yeah, you should’ve seen the signs way earlier.
Unsurprisingly, the next day while you were in Eric Clarke’s class, you were thinking about Bradley. This was actually the class he walked you to the day after your first date at the gardens, funnily enough, so it was kind of obvious why you had a hard time focusing during the three hour lesson.
When the class ended, you were putting your journal and notebooks in your bag when Clarke - who very stoically asked to be called that on the first day of class - came up to your table that was in the middle row. “Miss Y/l/n,” he greeted, his eyes showing his older age as they wrinkled when he smiled down at you. He wasn’t too old, maybe in his early forties, if the gray hairs scattered around were anything to go by.
You looked up at him, your hand pausing halfway into your bag. “Oh, hi,” you say back, dropping your pencil into your bag before slinging it over your shoulder.
“I was hoping to speak to you privately about your recent assignment,” he started, leaning against the table and looking around at the others as they walked out of the room.
Fuck. The last assignment you turned in was one you were not confident about in the slightest. It was due yesterday, and you had to quickly write something up as soon as you got back home from Bradley’s place Monday night, right after he went down on you like a starved man.
To say you weren’t focused would be the biggest understatement. And Bradley was one hundred percent to blame for it.
“Oh,” you trail off, your brows dropping a bit as you look up at him. “It’s bad, right? I didn’t do very well?”
Clarke waited until it was just you and him left in the room before turning back to you and shaking his head. “Quite the opposite, actually,” he said and your brows lifted again.
“Wait, seriously?” You asked in disbelief, almost certain that the assignment was the worst one you had ever submitted in your entire life. “I thought I bombed it.”
“No,” he laughed, his eyes flickering down your body before settling back on yours. “It was good. Really good; well written, thought out, and not to mention the grammar was pretty much flawless.”
Now you were beginning to think he was just messing with you. The writing piece you turned in was bland, a bit boring and rushed, that much you knew. But maybe not? Why would your instructor lie to you? “Oh…really?” You ask again, feeling your phone vibrate from its place in your bag. “I wasn’t confident about it at all.”
Clarke nodded, crossing his arms and showing off his muscles against his tight fitting button up. You didn’t spend too long looking at them, out of respect for your teacher. If you were a few years older and attracted to guys twice your age, you’d be all over that, but thankfully you weren’t. “Of course there were a few errors here and there, but overall it was great,”
You smiled up at him. “Thank you,” then you looked around and noticed just how close he was to you now that you were alone. You look back at him with a smaller smile, “Is that all? I have another class right after this one.”
You didn’t, but you weren’t feeling all that comfortable right now. “Yes, that’s all,” he replied and thankfully stood back up to his full height, moving away from you. “Good work, Y/n.”
You give him another smile and quickly stand up, reaching for your phone as you exit the room. Just as your fingers brushed against it inside your bag, you bumped into someone in the hall and you instantly forgot about your quest of finding it. “I’m sorry,” you rush to say, but you immediately recognize the deep laugh of Bradley. You look up and meet his brown eyes, your gaze softening as you grin up at him. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he said back, resting his hands on your hips as he leans down to press a kiss to your lips. You kiss him back, your previous feeling of uneasiness washing away as you practically melt against him. “Did you get my text?” He asked when he pulled away.
You place your hands on his chest, shaking your head. “No, I haven’t checked my phone yet,” you answer, looking up at him. “Clarke kept me back for a few minutes after class.”
“Clarke, huh?” He teased, squeezing your hips playfully. “Should I be worried?”
You roll your eyes and gently push him away from you but then take his hand when he holds it out to you with a laugh. The two of you begin to walk down the hall towards the exit, your free hand pulling out your phone to check his text. You blush when you read it, looking over at him and leaning up to kiss his cheek. “I missed you too,” you beam, lacing your fingers with his. “And yes, you can walk me home after class.”
“Oh, good,” he laughed, holding up your joined hands. “Because this would’ve been really fucking awkward if you said no.”
You shake your head as you walk through the campus, and when you get to your building, you turn to look up at him. “Come in with me? Please?”
Bradley grinned down at you, squeezing your hand. “I was really hoping you’d ask me that,”
You were blushing as you guided him inside and right past Sam, who was sitting on the couch and looking up at the two of you with a scowl on her face. Bradley lifted his hand in a cocky wave as you passed her, and you held back a laugh as you pulled him down the hall and into your room. He turned to you with a smirk as you closed the door behind him, then he let his gaze drift around your room, and you realized he had never been in here before.
Now you were a bit nervous as you looked around your room as well, taking in the clutter. “Sorry, it’s kind of messy,” you trail off, dropping your bag onto the floor next to your dresser.
“Kind of messy?” He repeated with a laugh, letting you take his bag off his shoulder and drop it next to yours. “If this is ‘kind of messy’, what would you call my room?” He asked as he did one more scan before turning to you.
“Unorganized, untidy, cluttered, chaotic, maybe,” you listed and he raised his brow at you as he stepped forward and placed his hands on your hips.
“It’s not that bad and you know it,” he mumbled, pulling you close to him. His gaze softened as you smiled up at him, bracing your hands on his chest. “Is that Sam out there?”
Your smile faltered a bit as you looked down at his plain gray shirt. “Yeah,” you answer quietly, smoothing out the fabric with your fingers. “We haven’t been talking much. It kinda sucks. I miss her even though she’s right across the hall from me.”
Bradley hums, lifting his hand and tugging at your bottom lip with his thumb as he presses a kiss to your forehead. “Maybe I should go formally introduce myself to the person who can’t seem to stop upsetting my girl,” he mumbled against your skin and made a move to open the door, but you just laughed and pulled him further away from it.
“No,” you shook your head with a smile and tugged him towards your bed. “She’ll probably end up yelling at you and I’ll feel even more embarrassed.”
Bradley sat back against your headboard as he kept his fingers laced with yours. “Maybe I’ll hold off then,” he said, gently pulling on your hand until you were sitting next to him. “But I got you to laugh, though.”
You smile, moving to snuggle against his side as his arm wrapped around your shoulders. “Yeah,” you whispered, laying your head on his chest. “You did.”
He leaned down to press a kiss to the top of your head. “I want to take you out on a date,” he stated, making your smile grow as you propped your chin on his shoulder and looked up at him.
“Another one?” You teased, referring to the many dates you’ve already had with him. “What did you have in mind?”
Bradley looked in thought for a second before he said, “The beach,”
You raised a brow, “The beach?” You echoed, lifting yourself a bit higher so you could look him in the eye. “You mean the one that’s like a three hour drive away?”
He shrugged, “I can make it in two,” then grinned as he added, “Yeah, that’s the one.”
“You want to drive there?” You asked for clarification, playing with his fingers as you looked up at him.
“Yeah. You, me and the Jeep. My two girls,” he laughed and you blushed. “Plus, the drive will be like a test to see if we can put up with each other for that long.”
A laugh leaves your lips as you lean up to press a kiss to his jaw. “That’s a good point,” you agree. “What day?”
“Saturday?” He suggests, pulling you closer to him. “It’s supposed to be really hot and since summer is almost over, it shouldn’t be too crowded.”
You smile, leaning up higher to press a soft kiss to his mouth. “That actually sounds perfect,”
Bradley smiles back and kisses you again. “I’ll pick you up Saturday morning,” he mumbled against your lips and you nodded before kissing him for quite a while after.
The next day you were sitting on Bradley’s bed, your back propped against his knees as he leaned against his headboard. Your notebook was open on your thighs as you skimmed through the few notes you were able to write down during your lecture with Mal Scott, an instructor you actually really liked but had a hard time keeping up with.
Bradley was flipping through an old jet manual he said he found in his dad’s things, and the way he said it showed just how much he was used to not having a father figure, or a mother figure, around anymore. It made you sad, but that was a topic for further down the road.
You were trying to figure out if the letter on the paper was an e or a c when Bradley leaned in and placed his hands on your hips after setting the manual aside. “I’ll be right back,” he murmured, dipping his head down to press a kiss to the side of your mouth before he gently pushed you forward enough until he was able to slip out from under you.
You watched as he walked towards the small bathroom he had attached to his room, the one you were secretly jealous of since he has a fucking bathroom attached to his room, before looking back down at your notes.
Only a few seconds had passed before his phone went off from its place on the bed next to you. You glanced over at it, unsure if you were at the point in your relationship in which it was okay for you to check your boyfriend’s phone or not. After a few more seconds, you decide to leave it be and return your gaze to your book.
But then it went off again. And again. And then one more time and you grabbed it after the fourth ding. Maybe it was an emergency and someone really needed to reach him? That was what you thought, anyway, when you clicked on his messages.
Briana: I miss you, Brad.
Briana: I know you miss me, too.
Under those texts was a picture she sent, her blonde hair covering her left breast while her right one was on full display.
Briana: I know you miss fucking me.
You felt a bit sick and it only got worse when she sent a second picture, this one making your skin heat up. The photo was of the side of Bradley’s face, his lips pressed to her collar bone with his eyes closed. A faint smirk was on Briana’s face as she looked at the camera, her fingers tangled in his messy hair.
Briana: I bet that new girl hasn’t let you fuck her like this yet.
You quickly put down his phone and close your book, a feeling of nausea creeping up the back of your throat. You knew Bradley was with his ex for a while, and there was no doubt that they both have countless photos together on their phones, but the last thing you wanted to see was one of them unexpectedly like that.
Sitting up, you look around his bed for your own phone, wanting nothing more than to leave quietly and tell him you felt sick through text later, but then Bradley walked back into his room and made eye contact with you.
-
Bradley felt content for the first time in a long time. He has a great girlfriend, he’s doing well in his classes, and he’s spending less and less time holed up in his room.
Having you enter his life at this time was shaping out to be one of the best things to ever happen to him. When he was in your room yesterday, he saw your ticket from the gardens propped up against your mirror on your dresser, and the memory of it made him feel warm inside since you kept yours, just like how he kept his.
Bradley fixed his hair in the mirror from when you made it messy earlier during your pre-study makeout, and he was quickly figuring out that he definitely wanted to makeout with you before every study session from now on.
After smoothing out his hair, he left the bathroom and made eye contact with you, but instead of you looking happy like how you did a few minutes ago, you now looked like you were getting ready to bolt out of his room.
His brows furrowed and his smile faded as he quickly walked over to you. “Hey,” he said softly, sitting down next to you. Your expression was one of embarrassment as you reached for your bag and shoved your book into it. “What’s wrong?”
“Your phone went off and I left it, but then it went off again and again so I checked it,” you answer, not meeting his eyes as you zip up your bag. “I’m sorry.”
Bradley furrowed his brows. You were upset because you checked his phone? “Babes, it’s fine. I don’t care if you check my phone,” he said, but you gave him a look that told him you weren’t upset because of that.
He grabbed his phone and saw that Briana had texted him, and his face paled as he read the messages. “I shouldn’t have checked it without your permission,” you whispered as he quickly scrolled past the photos she attached. He’d never seen them before, he could tell that from the quick glimpse he got of both of them, and he had no idea when she took the one of him kissing her neck. It was obviously during one of the times they fucked during those eleven months, but he didn’t want to look at it again to further figure it out. “I think I should go.”
Then he realized that you saw the pictures and the texts and he quickly looked up at you. “Babes,” he started but you just shook your head and stood up from his bed. “Baby, wait, please.”
You made it all the way to his door before he caught up with you and gently grabbed your wrist. “You’re not upset that we haven’t had sex yet, right?” You asked before he could say anything.
“What? Of course not,” he assured you, sliding his hand down until it was holding yours. “We just talked about that and I told you I’m not in any rush with you. I’m sorry you saw those pictures, I don’t even know when she took the one of her and I.”
“I just…you were probably used to fucking her whenever you wanted and we haven’t done that yet and-”
“Hey,” he cut you off, using his other hand to firmly grip your chin. He waited until you met his eyes before he continued, “Yeah, Bri and I spent more time in bed together than out of it, but that was only because we didn’t connect very well any other time. I told you, fucking me was the best part of the relationship for her, and that’s all she saw me as. It’s still all she sees me as.”
You reached up and wrapped your fingers around his wrist. “She’s so pretty, Bradley…and the picture of you and her…I hate it,”
Bradley shook his head, his grip on your chin loosening. “Yeah, she’s pretty, but you’re fucking gorgeous. The most beautiful person I’ve ever met, inside and out,” he promised, pulling on your bottom lip with his thumb. “And I’d never seen that picture until a few seconds ago. I didn’t even know she took it, okay? I can’t do anything about the photos she has of us on her phone, but I can delete all the ones I have on my own. Just stay, please?”
You bit down on your lip and looked up at him with a conflicted expression. “I don’t want to be one of those controlling girlfriends, Bradley,”
“You’re not,” he said, and you thankfully let him pull you back towards his bed. He picked up his phone and handed it to you after opening up his photo gallery. “There’s not much, but delete anything you want. I promise you, Briana and I are done. We’re over.”
You took his phone from him, slowly sitting back down as you scrolled through the gallery. You’d probably stumble across some really fucking embarrassing photos of him in high school, but he honestly couldn’t care less.
“Bradley,” you said quietly as you clicked on the first photo he took with Briana. “Are you sure? I can get over it, I just-” But he just clicked on the delete button without saying a word, and you looked up at him with hooded eyes. “Okay.”
He gently pushed you onto your back as you held his phone up and scrolled until you found another one, and he hovered his body over yours as he waited for you to repeat what he did. “Delete it, baby,” he encouraged, running his hand down your body until his fingers grazed the zipper on your shorts. You tap the red button quickly and he grinned, pressing a kiss to the side of your neck. “Good job.”
Then he moved further down until his shoulders were pressed against your thighs and he was kneeling on the floor. He unzipped your shorts and slowly slid them down your legs, his lips pressing multiple kisses to the sides of your knees and inner thighs. “Bradley,” you moaned quietly and he could see your fingers shake a bit as you gripped his phone.
“Keep going, babes,” he murmured as he pressed a kiss to your lower stomach, his hands teasing your hips through the thin material of your panties. Your teeth sunk into your lip as you took a deep breath and continued scrolling through his photos, and he pressed a final kiss to your core before pulling the flimsy fabric down your legs and leaving your lower half bare.
A quiet moan left your lips when he leaned in and licked a stripe up your folds, his tongue gently spreading around your wetness. “Fuck,” you whispered, clicking on the delete button again as you found another photo of his ex.
Bradley grinned before wrapping his lips around your clit and sucking softly. Your body jolted a bit and he felt a sense of pride fill him as he remembered that he is almost already surpassing the amount of times Luke went down on you in the three years you were with him. You hadn’t even been his girlfriend for a full week yet and already Bradley had tasted you as much as your ex did in three fucking years. What a fucking loser Luke was.
Your body was writhing against his mouth as you held his phone with a death grip, your forehead forming a cute crease as you tried to focus on the task he had given you. “You taste so good, baby,” Bradley praised, releasing your puffy clit so he could slide his tongue through your wetness again.
“Oh, my God,” you moaned, your fingers moving faster on the screen as he spreads you out again before dipping his tongue inside you.  He groaned as your arousal coated his taste buds, and he wrapped his arms under your thighs and pulled you closer. “Feels so good, Bradley.”
He fucking loved the way you moaned his name. His real name, not a shortened version or his last name. His real first name, and the only one you’ve ever called him.
Bradley grunted, bumping your clit with the tip of his nose as he kissed, licked and tasted every part of you. “How’s my gallery looking, babes?” He teased and you whimpered.
“Good..it’s good,” you respond, subtly grinding against his tongue.
“What’s good?” He smirked, taking your clit in his mouth again and tugging on it with his teeth. “Tell me.”
“Fuck,” you cry out, nearly dropping his phone. “You. You’re good. You’re so good.”
Bradley grinned, running his tongue along your bundle of nerves before slipping it back inside you. Your back was arching now and your legs were trying to close around his head, but his shoulders prevented them from getting very far.
“Holy fuck,” you cursed, quickly tapping on his screen one last time before dropping his phone next to you and reaching down to pull on his hair. “There. It’s done.”
Bradley hummed as he felt your fingers thread through his hair and make it messy again for the second time today. “Good,” he praised, flattening out his tongue as he licked your dripping core. “Now I want you to come for me.”
Your eyes rolled back and you pulled harder on his hair as you did just that. A high pitched cry left your lips as you came on his tongue, your hips slowly grinding against his face as you tip your head back on his bed. “Oh, my fucking God, Bradley,” you whined as he lapped up your release. “You’re too good at that.”
He grinned as he pulled away and crawled back up your body, his mouth and chin glistening with the remnants of your high. “It’s light work,” he teased, grabbing his phone and holding it up. “Come here.” He softly demanded and you moved your head to kiss him, your eyes closing as you tasted yourself on his lips.
Bradley parted his mouth and your tongue brushed against his just as he took a picture of the obscene kiss and officially added you to his camera roll, the intense photo surely going to fuel his need for you in the future.

Flumpy part one ( jake seresin x reader )
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: The dagger squad all were wondering who the mysterious figure was in one of the rooms in the base only to discover to bradley's explaining it was pete maverick mitchell's  kid  with out seeing them fully before leaving jake makes a comment he will in future regret .  y/n doesn't let the man off light with the comment either .
warning : enemies to lovers kinda , straight up self indulgent writing so soz slight comedic feel although that just my opinion ( sorry)
They gather in a curious bundle , looking in a the figure Head down on table large hood covering everything from head up as they tried to figure who it was that was well they hope was a sleep since the said figure hasn't moved .
" you sure they're alive they literally haven't moved in what ten minutes or more" one whispered.
" they allowed to be in here i mean what if its a civilian" another gulped.
" i mean they could be a bum" the tall blonde mused.
" hey what you standing around for" roosters head tilted looking at his squad members.
" there's a possible dead bum or civilian in there or dead civilian bum" fanboy looked into the room eye widening at such a possibility. Only bradley knew , his lips twitched in amusement at his friends assumption .
" nah that just mavs kid , must of fell asleep waiting" he explained as they looked more.
" jesus who would of thought mavs offspring would be flumpy there" jake grimaced .
" flumpy what are you twelve" phoenix rolled her eyes only for the figure to scoff.
" cyclone is looking for you bagman" rooster cleared his throat remembering why he was there in first place .
"Course he is needs a real man's help huh , see yall , bye flumpy" he called loudly as the figure head started to rise .
A quick nod to Pete as he passed yet their eyes all focused as the figure yawned and stretched out . Pulling the hood down to reveal the figure was a woman , a beautiful woman at that.
" hey kiddo sorry I got held up you ready" Mav smiled as she stood stretching aching muscle .
" ready as i'll ever be plus don't worry about it i got some z's"she smiled only seeing a group of new faces well not exactly new but in person new. " oh shit did you guys need the room , bradshaw you told me it was free" she glared at the man a comical sight giving their size difference.
" pretty girl you should of just went back to my place if you were tired... not like that you filthy people she like a sister to me" .
" i wouldn't be so tired if i had slept on way here but no someone a singing driver , i wanted to kick you in your great balls of fire" she grumbled.
" stop being so mean i gave you my hoody when you were cold little shit" he shot back .
" do i need to put you kids in time out" mav asked.
" you going hard deck tonight" bradley rolled his eyes.
" nah i need to unpack and sleep more" .
" she coming beach tomorrow since she's our new mechanic get to know you all" mav spoke up ignoring the glare she sent his way.
" beach tomorrow apparently also hi i'm Y/N" She turned holding her hand out to the group as the boys started pushing each other to be the one shake her hand only in their antic phoenix got in there .
" natasha trace but you can call me nat or phoenix" she smiled proudly getting their first.
"Well nice to meet you i already know who you all are from the glowing reviews i got from the two old men there" she chuckled shaking their hands.
" so where were stationed before here?" fanboy bashful spoke up goofy grin as she looked at him.
" oh i'm not in any form of military i got clearance and a civilian contract life of a navy nepo baby" . " come on we show her around the hangar" mav called all following behind .
She didn't need to see the hangar not when she been in it a billion times before during her childhood . following in the footstep of her mom charlie blackwood being a civilian contractor was a little surreal maybe because rooster was also there it was like they were the new generation . both legendary parents but she couldn't take the extra steps trying to be in her dad's shadow, that would of never worked although it seemed anything that could fly was a great love must of been genetics in this case.
" well as i live and breathe y/n it good to have you on board" she turned to see admiral beau simpson sauntering over towards her .
" admiral nice to see you again" she nodded politely not little how the man was looking at her .
" pleasure is all mine sweetheart if i'd known you'd be here i would of gave you the private tour" he almost purred as her own face scrunched up.
" i got her plus i need her check out phoenix jet for the test runs on monday so she's a little busy at the moment admiral" pete mitchell stood in front of her easily also not liking the way the older man was looking at his daughter.
" phoenix could you show me the way please oh admiral tell that darling wife of yours i say hi" she walked of linking arms with the female aviator .
" would that be all sir" rooster asked . " yes erm i forgot i got a meeting , rooster i got hangman in the end" he said making a slightly quicker exit.
" so what's the problem or did my dad make it up" she asked looking at the jet itching to get working .
" sort of shaky on the landing and steering is a bit stiff it can wait til monday really i think your dad just used.. And she gone" she watched the new woman in the hanger climbing up to assess everything out.
" i shouldn't of said anything" mav laughed knowing what his daughter was like.
" roo here" she called pulling the hoodie off only to hear metal clanging . " oh this place never changes" she shook her head seeing the men looking at her in awe.
It seemed as though everyone in the base had a reason to be in the hanger that morning , some excuses were almost believable others not so much when a recruit handed rooster a stapler insisting they needed it for any reason .
" nice to have a fellow female in her really was being a meat fest and don't even getting started on the pissing contest some of these guys can have"nat called .
" definitely hasn't change" y/n shook her head . " i mean between rooster and hangmans ego's then moment their on the ground best friends it's whiplash at best" .
" hangman? Blonde guy wonder if he's the one that called me flumpy" she mused with a giggle .
" you heard that huh?" .
" loud and clear what an asshole" she checking thing over before moving on to next part.
" i'm sure he'll take it back when he see's you" nat whispered almost reveling to see hangman's reaction to it all .
" hey need help" the guys called.
" nope it's all good i'm actually finished but thank you" she climbed down covered in grease and oil but she didn't mind .
" please come the hard deck so i can get you drink fixing my baby" nat smiled hopefully.
" no can do i need a shower , nap and unpack but i will see you all at beach tomorrow right" she asked all nodding away eagerly.
" you ever play dogfight football" bob asked slightly surprised at his own bravery to talk to the pretty lady .
" oh i'm not even attempting to play that i got a book with my name on it while you guys get all sweaty also stealing nat so i'm not on my own" she smirked .
" i'm fine with that" nat high fived her whilst sticking her tongue out at the others .
"come on you we get you home" maverick lead her out.
" no one tell hangman" was all nat said once they were gone all silently agreeing wanting to see hangman's reaction to the real flumpy .
The moment he stepped on base all he heard was his fellow officers gossiping like little girls usually he would of rolled his eyes and scoffed at the immaturity but jake seresin was always a sucker for pretty face and now he was full fledged curious .
" i think she'll be at hard deck i hope she is" he heard passing by yale . smiling like cat got the cream knowing it was no contest to who was going to get the girl .
" well look who finally showed his face , mav just left that long ago needing to drop his kid home" nat said almost too sweetly although his mind was elsewhere.
" great flumpy's gone anyways you guys heard or seen the smoke show , how true to the scale is she hot" he asked .
" lava like burn through anything hot" Javy spilled out as rooster tried not to react .
" well i guess i'll know later when i'm buying her a drink tonight i'll let you know how hot she is tomorrow though" he winked heading into the locker rooms.
" who's gonna break it to him" payback asked.
" no one dare say a word think of it as my christmas present" nat rubbed her hands together all heading to get changed and ready to have a few drinks after long day .
It was safe to say jake was annoyed the next morning , the mysterious hotty never showed at the bar so he couldn't brag like he wanted which in turn had the gang busting his balls for the forward assumption . it didn't help they were doing it all way to the beach or when he was helping set up the table for the food that was coming but he also had to listen to hear how cool mavericks offspring was maybe he was wrong about the dude or whatever then he start thinking flumpy was why the hot girl was there since they both showed up on same day which irritated him a little more then he cared to think . when he saw the hottest girl he'd ever seen like show stopping hot walk on the beach maybe he could get over the whole thing by getting her. He wasn't going to just go over no he pretend to throw rooster the ball only for it to land right near the woman . " don't worry i'll get it" he winked and strolled over so cocky and confident . sunglasses hid how his eyes raked over her the sundress that hugged her body like a damn glove , like it was made for her and her only . how her hair flowed messily down her back or how it fell to the front as she picked up the ball . " sorry ma'am my friend there can't seem to catch a ball" he stood a little taller , tensed his muscle a little knowing the ladies loved it. She looked over at rooster eyebrows raised before throwing the ball to him.
" looks like he's not so bad at all" she said walking with her towel under her arms ready to set it up .
" or maybe he wanted to impress you" jake followed .
" or you got a shit throw" she said placing her things down placing the towel on the warm sand before pulling the sundress over her head to reveal the red bikini that sat under it .
" hey kid you wanna help penny carry down the food before you get all comfortable" mav called
. " sure thing old man" she walked off leaving jake coming to a horrible realisation.
" was that?" he asked his fellow squad members.
" flumpy" the all called back" with shit eating grins .
"oh and hangman she heard you say it" nat cackled as his face completely dropped .
With the bragging right now and truly down the toilet giving as she wouldn't even look so much as his direction although . hell it seemed baby on board was in with more of a shot then he was. He was also now a fan of don't judge the book without fully seen cover that was his first mistake. Damn the cover was just his style that was for sure.
" just give up hangman , she not into you , you've ruined your chance" payback smirked as they began loading their plates .
" oh don't you worry boys i will have her eating out palm of hand and sweating for more" he laughed only they we're not laughing .
" man shh" javy whispered eyes darting behind the texan.
" what you know it i will have her riding me like a bull at a rodeo by the nights end" only instead of continuing a clearing of a throat .
" excuse me" she pushed past loading her own plate.
" darling how much of that did you hear" he winced .
" enough you tell you that i'd rather starve then eat from palm of your hand and walk to china the ride in your rodeo cowboy" she scoffed walking off sitting down on her towel picking up her book and completely ignoring the fact that jake seresin existed . which only to his torture while he was playing pool she was chatting away to some of the guys at the bar. He watched as the fawned and flirted with her , dropping their best lines while she let them think she was lapping it up , oh she was good he would give her that.
" your not gonna give up are you" coyote asked .
" not by long shot" jake smirked potting his winning ball .

One
The first time you met was also coincidentally the first time he noticed your oral fixation. You had been transferred into fightertown from an overseas position. You were a new Psychologist and had been tasked with going around to pretty much everyone on base to inquire about their desire for a therapist. You had found most of the dagger squad in the rec room. Payback, Fanboy and Coyote were all up in the sky and the rest of them were lounging around the room.
Bradley had turned his head away from the movie on the tv in front of him at the sound of your closed toe pink heels clicking along the tiles of the ground. His eye’s worked their way up from your feet, to your light gray slacks up to the pretty pink silk button up tucked away inside of them. When his eyes finally landed on your face you had been sucking on your cheek. As your eyes connected to his own you let go of your cheek and gave him a sheepish smile.
“Hi, I’m the new clinical psychologist on base. Vice Admiral Simpson suggested I go around and introduce myself.” You stuck out your hand expectantly. He gave you a smirk wrapping his much larger hand around your own.
“Bradley Bradshaw, callsign Rooster, Ma’am.” His hand was still clasped with your own, but you didn’t seem to mind. The screams of victory from Phoenix and Bob as they won a game of foosball against Yale and Harvard had your hands separating reluctantly.
“Here’s my card.” You pulled a stack of them out of your pants pocket. Slipping one out of the pink rubber band they were wrapped in you handed him the small white rectangle.
“I already have a therapist off base. But is there any way I can call you for dinner?” The boldness of his question had your cheeks heating. You pulled your lip between your teeth, debating how to respond to him.
“I don’t see why that would be a problem.” You gave him a sweet smile before slipping away from him and working to the other aviators in the room. He watched your every move admiring the way you so easily conversed with the group. He noticed your eyes light up when you got to Hangman and his lips pulled into a frown. He couldn’t hear what you were saying as the two of you were on the other side of the room.
Jake reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a small container of toothpicks. He shook one out and handed it to you with a smirk. You said something to him before passing him one of your cards and taking the toothpick from him. Bradley watched you place the little piece of spearmint wood between your teeth. Your shoulders relaxed as you closed your lips around the object. Then you were walking his way again and he quickly flicked his eyes back to the tv not wanting to get caught staring. But you had felt his eyes on you the whole time you were in the room.
Two
The second time he notices your oral fixation is while you are about a month into dating. He had asked you to go to the hard deck with him. It’s a slow night so you are sitting at the bar talking to Penny. Bradley is at a table with Natasha while she goes on about the double date she and Bob just went on the night before. He was only half listening however. His eyes were focused on your form clad in a pair of high waisted light wash ripped skinny jeans and a bright pink cropped tank top.
Penny had a customer so she had been helping them which had left you alone briefly. You plucked the cherry from the bottom of your glass and pulled the fruit off the stem. You chewed it quickly before slipping the stem into your mouth. You absentmindedly worked the stem around your mouth as you scanned the bar. Your eyes met Bradleys and you gave him a toothy grin showing him the knot you had made proudly. He sent you a wink and a thumbs up.
“Are you even paying attention to me?” Natasha huffed out at him dramatically. He turned to his best friend sat across from him and gave her an apologetic look.
“I’m sorry about that. What were you saying about your date?” The female aviator rolled her eyes before continuing her story. He listened more intently this time actually nodding along and conversing with her as she spoke.
“I’m gonna go grab another beer. You want one too?” He asked her as he stood up, their conversation had ended a moment ago and they had just sat in comfortable silence. But Bradley was desperate to be next to you so he could take in the smell of your floral perfume. Natasha grunted in response, handing him the empty bottle she had been peeling the label from.
“Hi there cherry blossom.” The long nickname had stuck like glue when he had first laid eyes on the pink flowers tattooed across your back.
“Roos.” You giggled at him, the silver chain with a single delicate pearl around your neck moving along with your chest.
“Are you drunk?” His eyes took in the knotted stem filled napkin beside you. He knew Penny had to have been doubling the cherries with the amount he saw.
“Just a little tipsy. Penny makes amazing drinks, Roos.” You punctuated the sentence by taking a sip of your drink loudly. Bradley let out a laugh at your dramatic show, shaking his head playfully. As you pulled the glass away from your lips a few drops fell along your chin. He moved his thumb up quickly, swiping the drops away. He was going to wipe it off on his jeans but you pulled his thumb up to your mouth and sucked his thumb between your lips. You gave it a small bite before pulling your mouth away.
“Feel like taking a walk to the Bronco with me real quick.” He blinked at you slowly as you uttered the words.
“Uh yea... Yeap. That sounds good.” He all but dragged you out of the bar, his and Natasha’s drinks forgotten. You eagerly pushed him into the backseat before climbing in beside him. He experienced the best blow job of his life that night.
Three
The third time he noticed your oral fixation was when he had walked into your office on your lunch break. You were sitting at your desk biting off pieces of twizzlers aggressively. You hadn’t noticed Bradley yet so he sat in the doorway admiring the way you looked. Your eyes were narrowed at your paper and your pen gilded across it making harsh marks along it.
“You’re gonna rip your paper if you press any harder.” Your hand came up to your chest quickly, eyes widening.
“Bradley, I didn’t hear you come in.” You glanced at your watch, sat upon your wrist and flenched. Eye’s slowly moved from the screen up to your boyfriend.
“I didn’t realize what time it was. I’m trying to get through some patient notes. I’m so sorry.” You were supposed to meet him in the cafeteria and have lunch with him there. But you had just had a group come back from a rough deployment and had been swamped with paperwork from their sessions.
“It’s alright. I knew work has been rough lately so I figured I’d bring lunch to you.” He held up the bag that you had worked together to pack the night before.
“What would I do without you?” You asked him as you rolled your chair back standing up and coming around the desk. Bradley closed the door and moved farther into the room. He opened up your cabinet where you had hidden a microwave and popped in your pasta.
“You’d be left severely unsatisfied.” You hummed at the double meaning sitting down on the couch usually left for patients to sit on.
“How was work today?” You questioned him sweetly, smoothing out the material of your checkered pink pencil skirt.
“Went pretty well. We’re going over a new manual for a few tester planes we might get the chance to fly.” You had heard rumors around the base that the aviators were going to get some cool new toys to play with soon. The microwave alerted Bradley, it was done and he pulled the food out of it before closing the cabinet back.
“Here you go.” You took the food from him eagerly as he held it out for you. Spinning the pasta around on your fork before taking a large bite. You both sat and ate in silence enjoying the other's company and the good food. As you took the last bite of your pasta you held the plastic fork to your lips. The prongs slipped between your lips and you started to slowly gnaw on the material. Your watch furiously buzzed where it was sitting on your wrist. That seemed to jerk you from your thoughts. You looked at the clock hanging on the wall opposite you and groaned.
“I’ve got a patient coming in five minutes and I still need to pull everything up from our last session. I hate to cut this short but I’m gonna have to kick you out.” Your lips were set in a pout as you gazed at him. He closed the gap between you, giving you a few quick pecks on your lips before pulling away, listening to you whine pathetically as he did.
“That’s alright pretty girl. I’ve gotta get back to the hangar anyways.” He stood up and grabbed your container before slipping them both into the lunch box. He grabbed your fork as well and went to throw it away, taking note of the teeth marks embedded in the plastic. He’d have to ask you about your constant need for oral stimulation one day.
Four
The fourth time he notices your oral fixation he kinda blames it on you being drunk. You’re out celebrating your friend's birthday at a club and Bradley had volunteered to be the designated driver that night for you and your three friends. You were going through shots like it was your job. He had sat at a booth in the corner keeping an eye on you guys as well as keeping an eye on your stuff sat on the table top.
You had bumped into Jake at some point through the night and had conned him into giving you some of his toothpicks. You had then proceeded to chew through all of them in under an hour. Bradley watched you throw away the last one as it had snapped between your teeth with a pout on your lips. You then scanned the crowd quickly before your eyes landed on him and your face lit up. He watched you weave through the sea of dancing bodies quickly before you were sliding into the booth next to him.
“How can I help you, pretty girl?” Your already warm cheeks warmed even more at the compliment.
“You’re so handsome, Roos. Have I told you that already?” You hiccuped as you took his hand in your own.
“Doesn’t matter much if I did. I’ll tell you till I can’t breathe anymore.” You looked at him with hooded eyes as you brought his hand to your mouth and started to work your soft lip gloss coated lips across the rough skin in open mouthed kisses.
“You’re smearing your lip gloss everywhere cherry blossom.” He didn’t mind that you were getting it on his skin but he knew you’d be a little upset with the way the pink glitter was coating your face.
“It’s alright.” You threw his arm over your shoulder and sidled up next to him. He groaned as you laid your lips on his neck. You nipped and licked at the skin languidly.
“Come on, it’s girls night. He’s not here for you to play vampire with.” You pulled away from him slowly at your friend's words.
“I’m taking this.” You plucked the small black straw from his glass of Coke, before slipping from the booth. You adjusted your glittery pink dress as you stood and wiped your lip gloss off your face with a napkin. You placed the straw between your lips and gave him a wink.
You shimmed your way between two of your friends and danced with them for a while. Your teeth chewed on the straw as you lost yourself to the songs. Eventually your friends slipped back to the bar and you took the opportunity to slip back to your mustached boyfriend. He was going to playfully scold you for leaving your friends again but you didn’t give him a chance.
You scooted into the booth and planted your lips against his. He brought one of his hands up to rest against your face as you pulled his bottom lip between your teeth and sucked on it for a moment. He thought briefly about where your straw had gone but his thoughts were cleared as you slipped your tongue between his lips. Drunk you just couldn’t keep your mouth busy enough it seemed. But he wasn’t complaining one bit.
Five
The fifth time he had noticed your oral fixation had been one of the funniest. You were both covered in sea water sitting inside an ice cream shop that was along the strip of shops on the coast of the beach. You had gotten done with your ice cream cone way before the tall man sat beside you. He had insisted on getting the largest size they had. You told him you were worried about it melting everywhere but he had shooed you off.
“I’m gonna go get some gum.” You had spotted a gumball machine when you had first walked into the a/c filled building.
You dug out a few quarters from your purse and inserted them into the slot. You turned it a couple times before lifting the flap. The handful of pink gumballs filled your hand and you hummed in delight. As you sat back at the table with your boyfriend you slipped two gumballs into your mouth. You chewed on them animatedly, occasionally telling him about something funny that had happened in the show you were watching.
“Fuck.” He had been much slower with his ice cream than he expected and it had started to melt all over his hand.
“Oh here let me get that.” He thought you were gonna reach for a napkin but instead you pulled his fingers to your lips. You popped each one into your mouth, licking all the Chocolate and sprinkles off his fingers. He gave you a bewildered look as you nibbled on each finger tip gently.
“There ya go all clean.” You seemed proud of yourself for the way you cleaned him off. You grabbed a napkin out of the silver napkin holder and wiped his mustache clean as well.
“Thank you pretty girl.” You gave him a toothy grin before popping another pink ball into your mouth. You continued on with the funny story you were telling him and he continued to eat his ice cream. Neither of you mentioned what just happened.
Six
The sixth time he noticed your oral fixation was also the time he decided to ask you about it. It had been the morning after a few intense rounds of sex. You had been out of town for a week at a conference and had just gotten back and the night had been passionate. He had woken up before you which wasn’t a surprise, the jet lag from the trip paired with the activities of the prior night had caught up with you quickly. He slipped on  a pair of his shorts he grabbed from the floor. Then he went into the bathroom to brush his teeth. His sleepy eyes took in his shirtless form in the mirror and dropped his toothbrush into the sink.
There were blue, purple, green and red marks all over his chest, neck and arms. Some of them looked like hickies, others looked like teeth marks. His finger came to run across every mark he could see. He was used to the occasional mark after sex with you but this was another level for the two of you. But he didn’t mind one bit. He was actually ecstatic to have the marks splayed along his body.
His mind flashed to a tiktok he had seen recently about something called an oral fixation. He thought back to all the times he realized your need for oral stimulation. All the dots seemed to connect as he recalled the information from the short video. He decided to do some research before making breakfast for the both of you. He sat downstairs with his laptop for almost an hour taking notes occasionally in a notebook he kept around the house.
After about an hour his stomach started to rumble and he closed his laptop. He slipped on an old navy crew neck he grabbed from the dryer before starting on the French toast, eggs and bacon. He knew you’d be hungry after your intense session last night so he made plenty of food. He was just getting done with your matcha latte when you made your way into the kitchen. You had on a pink babydoll nightgown and your hair was a mess.
“Smells good in here.” You told him as a yawn slipped past your lips. He gave you a peck on the lips when you wrapped your arms around his middle and laid your chin on his chest.
“I’m almost done with your matcha latte. Why don’t you go sit down and eat?” He nodded his head over to the kitchen island. You puckered your lips at him, batting your lashes at him lazily. He placed his lips upon yours once more before you slipped out of his arms. He landed a smack on your ass as you walked away causing you to gasp.
He was sitting on a stool next to you after a couple of minutes. You moaned as you put the first bite of French toast in your mouth. He felt pride swell in his chest as the thought of you loving his food so much. He had learned everything he knew from his mother so it always made him happy when you showed how much you enjoyed it. The many cookbooks in the pantry held so many recipes that you were more than pleased to try.
You guys conversed easily, talking about your seperate week. You took another long sip from your latte as you fixed your eyes on him. He was telling you a funny story about something stupid Maverick had said. You hadn’t realized you had zoned out until Bradley laid a hand on your leg. You stopped chewing on the rubber bit wrapped around the tip of your metal straw. Eyes refocusing on the man in front of you.
“Do you have an oral fixation cherry blossom?” Bradley felt bad saying it so bluntly when you stopped drinking your match latte and pulled the straw out of your mouth. Your eyes focused on the floor beneath your pink slipper clad feet. You played with the hem of your night dress giving him a nonchalant shrug.
“It’s okay if you do babe. I just gotta know what I can do to help you.” His finger hooked under your chin bringing your face up so he could see it.
“It’s something that started as a kid. I normally do it unconsciously. Most of the time it’s when I’m stressed out, tired or need something to do.” You had been told by people before how weird it was. You were constantly chewing on random stuff, eating or chewing gum. Sometimes when you were with a partner you liked to give them love bites. It hadn’t crossed your mind however that you hadn’t told Bradley about the quirk.
“I love you very much and you are valid to need to stimulate yourself. I’m not judging you. I did some research on it this morning while you slept. Just in case you did, I’d understand it better.” He could tell you were feeling uncomfortable thinking he was making fun of you. You were speechless at his words. No one had ever gone out of their way to understand your unique way of needing stimulation.
“I’m guessing from what I learned this morning that the marks you left on me last night was your need to feel close to me and grounded during the vigorous activities.” You cocked your head to the side looking down at his shirt. You noticed some hickey marks along his neck but those were pretty normal for the pair of you. He reached for the hem of his crew neck and pulled it up. You gasped a hand coming up to your lips as you looked at the marks decorating his tanned skin.
“Oh Bradley I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” You carefully placed a hand on one especially harsh mark on his chest.
“It doesn’t hurt, pretty girl. I like that you were comfortable enough with me to be able to stimulate yourself the way you needed to.” He gave you a reassuring smile as he dragged his shirt back down.
“If you want we can go for another round. You can leave some on my back too.” His eyes held mischief as he looked at you.
“I love you so fucking much.” You giggled before launching yourself out of your stool and collided with the solid mass that was your boyfriend. You were on cloud nine from the open communication from the man you were lucky enough to call your own.
A/N: I had a lot of fun writing this. Likes, comments and reblogs are very much appreciated.

Hey! Idk if you do extensions on previous works, but if you do I would love to request an extension for your hangman getting all shy around his crush who is his WSO story :)
(This is my first time requesting so I hope I’m following all the rules/doing it properly! I’m so sorry if I’m not! Also, please feel free to ignore this if you don’t feel inspired or if you have too many requests!)
You know how in the movie when they had those briefings/meetings the WSO and their pilots sit together? I can picture hangman being all chivalrous and pulling out the chair for his WSO and being all ‘I saved you a seat! Only if you want though…’ and being all blushy when she sits down and he keeps trying to focus on the meeting but he can’t. And all the other daggers are watching like ‘who are you and what did you do with hangman???’/giving him knowing looks because it’s obvious how down bad he is!
Sorry if this is too specific, and feel free to ignore this! :)💗💗
Your squadron gets semi jumbled as you file through the door to the classroom, but somehow you manage to fall in line after Jake. You two seem to have developed magnetic charges in the short time you've been his backseater, you're always one step behind him or he's brushing his shoulder against your own when he passes.
He heads for a spot in the front row of seats, the cushy blue chair looking like heaven after being crammed into a fighter jet for two hours. You're about to drift left to sit beside Natasha when Jake turns to gesture to the row he's standing beside, "Here y'go, darlin'. Take the far one."
You're not sure why he's insisting on the seat closer to the wall rather than the aisle for you; maybe he wants to chat with Rooster across the way. Said pilot is whispering something to Coyote beside him, and the two snicker while shooting Jake a sneaky glance. Whatever the reason, you let Jake usher you into the seat right of the aisle, and he settles right beside you in front of the podium.
You sink into the seat with a grateful thank-you, but it's interrupted by a sharp creak from the old chair you've put your weight on. It's a loud, awkward sound, and most heads in the room turn to look at you curiously. You try not to feel embarrassed, after all it's not your fault the chair is unstable, but Jake stands abruptly from his own chair at the commotion.
"Here, swap." He offers, his charming smile on full display, "You want the quiet one?"
"Oh, it's okay," You assure Jake, flattered by his chivalry as he reaches for your hand to pull you out of the chair, "It's just creaky, I can live with it."
"Don't worry about it," He dismisses your evasion tactics, gesturing to his previous seat that's now wide-open, "Come on darlin', this way you can see the screen better. Don't want you to miss anything."
Your second round of thanks to him is mumbled slightly as you hoist yourself up and over the divider between your seats, settling into the slightly warm cushions that Jake had just evacuated. The chair beside you creaks even louder than before at Jake's broad frame resting on its worn parts, but he owns the mishap far smoother than you had, clearing his throat with an amused smirk on his face and slinging his arm around the back of your chair.
There's a round of chuckles that pass through the mostly-silent classroom at his dramatic antics, and you're not surprised that Bradley takes the opportunity to pick at Jake.
"Thank god you two switched. Y/N smells much nicer than you, Hangman, and that chair'll drown out whatever bullshit comes out of your mouth."
There is, in fact, a rather loud creak as Jake leans towards Bradley to retaliate. However, you're more focused on the large hand that's come to fall against your thigh, slight pressure put just above your knee as Hangman leans over you to speak.
"You wanna talk about smells, Bradshaw, everyone knows your therapist is a bottle. Christ, walking past you smells like a closing shift at the Hard Deck."
"Alright!" Natasha's quick to step in, having seen many similar conversations take unfortunate nosedives, "Alright, you two both drink too much, and everybody smells like sweat in here. Okay? Just back down."
Hangman concedes with a tight clench to his jaw, and when he leans back into his seat, his face passes by yours. He sends you a sheepish smile, squeezing gently at your thigh before releasing it as his back presses to the creaky chair once more.
"Sorry about that," He keeps his voice hushed, attention turned to the front when Maverick finally steps through the doors, "He likes pissing me off."
"And it works," You chuckle, nudging his shoulder teasingly with your own, "Don't let him get to you, Hangman. Phoenix was right, we all smell like shit."
Maverick begins his makeshift lecture and drowns out whatever Jake could have mustered up in response, but the two of you each wear matching grins as your class session begins. There's no need for a verbal response as he nudges your thigh with the knuckle of his pointer finger: 'thanks'.

The Hard Deck was packed full with every kind of aviator when you arrived at its front door.
It stood open invitingly and you entered with a mixture of curiosity and excitement, your sundress flowing in the light evening breeze.
The amount of people was overwhelming, the Hard Deck seemed to burst at the seams, but Nat had already told you so.
She was freshly deployed, which was why you were dying to see her.
Back at home you had been living together and you missed her, the flight to Miramar was irritatingly long and you hadn’t seen her in over two weeks, which was why you had decided to surprise her.
She had texted you to say she was going out with the boys and you were excited about it, it was a chance for you to have a grand entrance.
Strolling into the bar you found the aviators you were looking for by the pool table, but nevertheless you went to the counter to buy yourself a drink.
You were excited to see Nat and she looked as beautiful as ever, nevertheless you held back.
Nat didn’t know you were coming but you had decided to visit her over the weekend, because you missed her too much.
You turned to the bartender to order your drink and when you turned around you met the eyes of Nat and her friends, who were suddenly watching you.
Despite feeling self-conscious you reciprocated the stare, a smile appearing on your lips at the way Nat and her friends were looking at you.
You knew the dress looked good on you but the hungry and surprised stares were also a big indication.
Over at the pool table Nat’s eyes were wide as she saw you standing by the bar, not believing her eyes that you were actually at the Hard Deck.
She was standing between Jake and Bradley, who too were looking at her wife, not knowing who she actually was.
“Jeez, Bradshaw, would you look at that,” Jake spoke up, glancing at his fellow aviator to find him transfixed by your presence.
“A woman of your taste, is it?” He asked his friend but didn’t see how Nat nodded her head at the question, instead focusing on his favorite male rival.
He watched as Bradley swallowed slightly as you seemed to look back at him, sending him a smile in the process.
You seemed into it, so a devilish grin appeared on Jake’s face.
“I dare you to go talk to her and ask her out,” he added, and watched as Bradley’s eyes finally fell from your form to look at him.
He could see the tips of Bradley’s ears turn pink but Bradley lifted his chin defiantly, sending his friend a grin.
Neither of the men noticed Nat’s surprised smirk but she didn’t say anything, letting everything play out in front of her.
You just got your beer from Penny, breaking eye contact with your wife to receive said beverage, when a beefy, mustached guy, undoubtedly Bradley Bradshaw, suddenly appeared in front of you.
It took you a second to realize that he was talking to you when you took a sip, your wedding ring gleaming in the light of the bar.
He didn’t seem to mind.
“So, I couldn’t help seeing that you were staring at me earlier. And to answer your question; yes, I would be the best you ever had,” he came on strong, and you had to fight yourself to keep a straight face.
You desperately wanted to laugh as you realized Bradley was exactly like Nat had described him.
“Oh wow, that’s impressive. And here I thought the ‘stache was a woman-repellent,” you answered as you looked up at him, batting your lashes as you perceived his reaction.
For just a second Bradley seemed taken aback but then he leaned closer, putting his arm on the bar beside you.
“You know, actually it does wonders in just the right places,” he answered, and the fight to keep a straight face was once again almost hopeless.
You were just about to say something when Nat and who you assumed was Jake joined the conversation.
They just stood next to you, making a group out of the two of you.
While none of the guys had any context Nat was quick to act, reaching up to angle your chin towards her and going in for a heated kiss.
The men’s eyes widened as Nat pulled you closer, wrapping one arm around your waist while the other hand leisurely grabbed your ass, holding onto it and squeezing it a little, to assert dominance.
It was all quite amusing to you but above it all your chest swelled with pride at how possessive your wife was, that she didn’t let her friend even think about you.
Jake let out a small whistle as he watched you and Nat’s grin was proud when she pulled away, her hand not leaving your body as she glanced at Bradley.
“Bradshaw, Seresin, meet my wife,” she said with her voice rougher than usual, which in turn had you smiling with pride.
The men looked dumbfounded and Bradley chuckled in confusion, before his face turned into a rather polite expression.
“Nice to meet you,” he replied like a mechanism and Jake laughed at him, while Nat’s attention was solely on you.
“What are you doing here, babe?” She asked as she smiled at you, and you returned the favor.
“I just missed you, is all,” you replied in a low voice, and she moved even closer to hold you to her.
She pressed a kiss to your cheek before she pulled away, her eyes roaming your face before they finally redirected to her fellow aviators.
“Sorry, gents, we’ll be leaving now,” she said as her hand fell to yours and she intertwined your fingers.
“I have my wife to take care of, and only limited time,” she added, and before you knew it you found yourselves in Nat’s truck, with her hand already under your skirt.

Tinkerbell
It’s been only a little under a year since you came to North Island. So much has changed over that time. The biggest change? Finding Bradley Bradshaw. You can’t believe you once wished anyone else could be your soulmate. Now, you’re not sure you could wish for anyone else. It feels like your entire outlook on life has changed, because you’re not sure you could go back to the person who wasn’t quickly falling in love with their soulmate.
Bradley Bradshaw is different now, too. When he’s not on base, he’s sweet and kind, considerate in a way you’d agreed he wouldn’t be when you were on duty. A part of the reason why is because nobody on base (except your best friends) knows that Bradley Bradshaw is your soulmate. Neither of you is in a rush to put a label on what you are either. Jake and Javy have both asked you, repeatedly, whether you're together, but you can’t tell them not when you’re not sure what is going on between you and your soulmate. After your contentious first few months at North Island, you’re a little afraid to ask Bradley, as well. What if that question makes everything devolve between the two of you? What if you go back to the fighting? You’re not sure you can go back to how it used to be between the two of you, with tension rising in the air between you. You think Bradley feels the same as you do. You hope he does. While you can still see the disbelief on his face sometimes when you kiss him, like he can’t believe he’s yours, you’re still not sure.
The rumor mill around North Island hasn’t helped anything. It’s obvious the newest Top Gun class has heard the rumors of the last few months. It should be a blessing they haven’t focused on the events leading up to Hawk’s inquiry and its aftermath. Instead, they’ve chosen to focus on what is going on (or may be going on) between you and Bradley. No doubt they’ve heard from Calypso, who was as gossipy as could be, before coming to North Island. You’ve witnessed it yourself, how the LTJG gossip network works. How else would news of the great Maverick’s latest brush with the Admiralty become the next talked about thing when you’re on board a ship for months at a time? Now every interaction you have with the Dagger Squadron is examined with a fine-toothed comb when superior officers aren’t present. You’ve heard some truly ridiculous things at this point, just by walking past the lounge.
“Have you seen how Tinkerbell is with Phoenix and Bob? I’m pretty sure she’s fucking both of them in addition to Bradshaw. The question is if they know or if she’s cheating on each of them with the others?”
As if that wasn’t ridiculous enough, it seems like you’re rumored to be romantically linked to almost every Dagger you speak to.
“Okay, but have you seen how she acts with Coyote and Hangman? If she gets any closer to them when they’re off duty, she’d be on top of them.”
“I bet you 50, she is!”
“I’d take that bet, but Hangy’s too buttoned up for that!”
If only it were just the Dagger Squad you’ve been rumored to be in a relationship with.
“She’s totally got an April-September thing going on with Admiral Mitchell! You’ve seen him napping on the sofa in front of her desk! Why else would an Admiral be in the AMDO hangar?”
Your favorite rumors of all, though, are the ones about Bradley and you.
“Bradshaw has to be who she is dating! He smiles so much when she’s around him! There’s this tension between the two of them all the time! If they’re not head over heels for each other, then I think I need a vacation (or my radar is broken).”
“That’s a shame, Jiffy! Are you a WSO or aren’t you?”
“Fuck you, Toast! Anyways, like I was saying, they’ll be fucking before we graduate from Top Gun!”
They’re your favorite rumors because they’re the ones most likely to come true, not that any of the class will come to know, especially not Toast and Jiffy, from whom you heard that last parlay.
It’s the turmoil of being known as Bradley Bradshaw’s soulmate which has had you in a tailspin since the aftermath of that all too successful first date. Can you be known as his? Yes. Do you want to be known as his? Yes and no. That’s about where your feelings and thoughts get complicated. You’d love to scream “Bradley Bradshaw is my soulmate” from the rooftops. But you’re also tired of the double standard. You get enough of it as is, being a successful female, AMDO Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy. The words Bradley had flung at you that first night on North Island (the ones he has apologized for a hundred times)? You’ve heard them more times than you can count. You’re sure you’ll hear them again. But you’re also sure that if the news of you and Bradley being soulmates gets out, every achievement of your career will be in question.
Despite all of the leading research in the world, nobody fully understands how far and deep soulmate bonds go. After all, it’s difficult to, when there are as many types of bonds as there are and even more types of soul markers. You and your soul shared dreams, centered around different objects integral to your soul's identity. Your parents only heard the music the other was listening to until they met. Jake and Javy hold each other’s names on their skin, written out in each other's handwriting. It seems like each type of bond holds a different type of connection, too. In the two months since you and Bradley crashed together, opening the bond, you’ve begun to feel his emotions, get a sense of what he's thinking. Nobody knows how the bond will evolve, but you’re sure it could evolve into a full telepathic bond given time. If anyone were to know, they’d assume your talent with fighter jets came from your soul. They’d find it hard to believe you knew anything of your own. The thoughts have you questioning yourself just a little, too. Before you met him, who knows how much of the bond was open? How much of your success was due to him and how much of it was due to your own hard work?
Thankfully, you have Mav and Ice to confide in and counsel you. Their advice and reassurances have gone a long way in helping you sort out exactly how and when you want your bond publicized. As it turns out, you weren’t the only person to be shocked when they found out Ice and Mav are each other’s soulmates. It’s probably the US Navy’s best kept secret, to be clear. Very few people know, mostly family and commanding officers. You’ve even had the chance to view their public files. There is only a singular line mentioning their bond in each file, stating the words Soulbound, Married followed by the other’s initials.
The way Mav tells it, keeping each other hidden, keeping their bond quiet, has been the biggest help of their careers. Ice would have never been able to protect Mav over the years if their bond had been widely publicized. Of course, like most things in life, it wasn't easy. But it's the price they've each paid time and again to be with each other in spite of their dual need to succeed in their chosen fields.
Bradley and you've talked about it, too. It wasn’t a unilateral decision on either of your parts. You both have goals in your careers you are trying to achieve. So you're trying to follow the same precedent and example. But despite Mav’s warnings, you weren’t expecting keeping your distance from Bradley Bradshaw to be quite so difficult. At work, it's not as big a deal, staying away from each other. It feels like you couldn’t behave in any other way, honestly. Every motion is choreographed, governed by the muscle memory of bodies conditioned by the US Navy into holding themselves a certain way, responding in a certain way.
Unfortunately, the two of you act the same way when you're alone. When you're at home or at Mav and Ice's house, you melt into him, kiss him, hold him like you've been aching to for your whole life. But when you’re out and about in San Diego, he keeps a constant distance between you. He doesn’t slip his arm around your shoulder or your waist, kiss your cheek or shoulder or any of the hundreds of little ways couples you see on the street show their love for each other. You know it’s part and parcel of your pact. But it still makes you feel like a dirty little secret when you know you’re anything but. At least Bradley still kisses you like he believes you are going to disappear if he blinks. Each embrace, each brush of his lips against your skin sparks an inferno. But that is it. As soon as his lips meet your skin, they're gone again.
For weeks you've been feeling the itch under your skin, begging you to get closer to your soul. You're craving intimacy, a need to imprint yourself on his skin so deep he'll never forget who he belongs to. You might not be able to show it publicly, but privately, you’re ready to stake your claim. You know how gorgeous your soul is, inside and out. After all, you have eyes. You would never have noticed him the first night at the Hard Deck all those months ago if it weren’t for his charisma and looks. If only there was a way you could show him, in front of anyone who matters.
It doesn’t help that you can’t even kiss him when you’re off duty most of the time, because you inevitably find yourselves at The Hard Deck with the rest of the Dagger Squadron. There are too many eyes on you, on the Dagger Squadron when you’re there. They’re practically famous, and with Naval personnel other than the Daggers around, you can’t risk anything. When the Daggers are involved, things always seem to get turned on their heads. They are an affectionate squadron, closer to family than colleagues, preferring to hug each other with impunity. After all, you’ve seen the puppy-pile the lot of them turn into after a particularly rough training session at the behest of Mav. So it’s no wonder the rumors fly as fast and furiously about them as they do.
Anti-fraternization regulations are one thing. The badge bunnies and the odd bachelorette parties who wander into the Hard Deck for fun with some men and women in uniform are something else entirely. With enough alcohol, they flirt with anyone in sight. It’s no wonder they flirt as much as they do with your soulmate. They fall over themselves when he sits at the piano at the end of the bar, a flirty smile on his lips as he tickles the ivory keys and sings with his gorgeous voice. He’s your soulmate. You know it in your soul, just as you know all the reasons why Bradley would never pick one of them. But logic and reasoning don’t keep you from seeing red whenever other women flirt with your man.
It’s late, half-past 11 at the very least, with the time ticking closer to midnight with every elapsed second. All the regulars have mostly cleared out tonight, leaving only the Daggers, you, and a few scantily-clad girls in the bar. The Daggers are often the first to enter the bar when it opens and the last to leave. Right now, they’re all arrayed at the pool tables, talking shit and taking shots with the cues in turn. Penny’s behind the bar, like always, though even she seems less than pleased by the high-pitched giggling from the bachelorette party tottering about on too high heels. You hope she’s at least getting good tips from their repeated squeals for shots.
Bradley’s the only Dagger not at the pool tables. Even Bob with his ever-present can of soda and cup of peanuts is over there. If you focus, you think you can hear him roasting Jake in that quiet understated way of his. But most of your focus is on the badge bunny draped across Bradley’s broad chest. She stinks of cheap tequila, you could probably smell her from a mile away, and only the sash draped around her proclaiming her to be the maid-of-honor explains why she’s in this bar. What’s pissing you off just a little more than how this slut is draped over your soulmate is how she barely seems to care how you’re right there. You’ve been standing next to Bradley all night long, closer than is proper for colleagues. His hand’s been looped through one of the belt-loops on your jeans all night too, hidden behind the high table, palm scorching as it rests just over the swell of your ass. What part of your posture screams “This man is single”? If that wasn’t enough, he’d been leaning into your face as you chatted in intimate whispers barely audible over the music.
She’d barged right into the middle of your conversation, tossing her hair and batting her eyelashes. Even now, she’s flirting and giggling, the high-pitched noises making you wince, putting you so thoroughly on edge that you feel like you’re seconds from snapping. You sigh when she finally stumbles away, her heels clacking clumsily over the sticky floor. You could do without the come-hither eyes she sends Bradley’s way, but at least Bradley doesn’t seem to notice. His attention is on you, like it has been all night.
“Fuck,” His voice is rough, the sound wrapping around you in a way that makes your panties just a little wet. “I’m sorry about that, sweetheart.”
He tugs you in a little closer by your belt loops, the motion soothing the ragged edges of your nerves as the Sandalwood of his cologne drowns you.
“She just wouldn’t go away!”
He drags his hand, the one with his US Naval Academy ring with its garnet gem through his curls as he downs the last few sips of his beer. You track a droplet as it drips down his cut jaw, and desperately want to kiss your soul once again. Of course, that feeling is drowned by more rage as you catch the cow-eyes little miss Maid-of-Honor is making in her sparkly hot pink dress on the other side of the bar.
It makes you a little reckless as you spit words out, trying to provoke an argument, something to make your soul realize little things like a woman flirting with him, touching him, bothers you.
“Hmm… I wonder why, Roo?” You roll your eyes and stamp your foot a little. “Maybe it’s ‘cause you looked happy to have her wrapped around you?”
He recoils at your words and vitriolic tone, a puppy-dog pout dragging the corners of his mouth down for just a few seconds before resettling his lips into his most charming grin. It’s too charming for words, eroding at the edges of your anger just enough to make her flirting seem less troubling than it is.
“Is everything okay, Tink?” His hand slides up, rubbing at your hip in slow circles, but you’re not willing to give in. “C’mon baby, tell me what I did wrong. I can’t fix it if I don’t know.”
You gulp the last bit of your margarita in response before shoving the glass into his chest.
“It’s nothing, Roo. I’m fine. Just a little thirsty, that’s all.”
Your excuse is slim at best. You know it. So does he by the quirk in his brow as he looks at you.
“We’ll talk about this when you’re ready.”
Maybe it’s the bond working to let him know when you’re not ready to talk. But when he grabs his empty beer bottle and your martini glass and turns around to walk back to the bar, your irrational anger rears its ugly little head again. Because there she is in all of her glory, whispering with one of her friends, waving him over with red-taloned fingers while seductively staring at your soul. She’s obviously noticed the swagger in his hips just as much as you have. If only she’d noticed your glower in her direction, a gaze which is quickly turning into a piercing glare. You’re not trying to pick a fight, tonight. It's not Bradley's fault that women find him irresistible. You just want your soul to know she bothers you. And you want her to know he’s not hers to seduce into her bed just because he’s hot.
So your tone is artificially light as you call out, just loud enough over the din that Bradley hears you.
“You don’t even know you’re doing it, huh?”
“Doing what?” He sounds confused, adorably so.
“I mean, it’s obvious you haven’t spent any time on a farm.”
You grin from ear-to-ear, fighting the urge to fist-bump the air, when he turns around, out of the line of sight of little miss Maid-of-Honor at the other end of the bar. He thuds the empties down and crosses his arms across his chest, the muscles bulging mouth-wateringly in front of you. It’s obvious he knows what you’re up to based on the amused quirk to his lips, but he’s playing along regardless.
“And you have?”
There’s a sparkle in his eyes as he looks down at you. Your grin could be called positively wicked in response.
“Sure I have! Seresin Ranch is an awful lot of fun at Christmas-time!” You tug one of the chairs over and sit down in it, keeping the high table between you and your soulmate. “You know what else they have at Seresin Ranch?”
“Lemme take a quick guess here…”
His eyebrows raise as he pretends to think.
“Chickens?”
“Yup!”
You relish in the shape of your lips as you pop the ‘p’ in your too cheeky response to him.
“And there is one ole Rooster in the flock, too. And you know how he walks? Especially when he’s got a hen he’s wooing?”
“Just like I do?” Your lips quirk at the disappointment on his face, destroying the mock thoughtful pout you'd sent your soul's way moments before. When a smile sneaks onto his lips unwillingly, you giggle. He looks fondly exasperated at the sight of your glee, but takes a step closer to you.
“God, Tinky! If I hadn’t been right here all night, I would’ve been asking you just how much you’ve had to drink tonight!”
You can’t find it in you to respond, the thoughts flitting past at lightning speed. It feels like you’re magnetized to his presence. One of his big hands wraps around your hip as he comes to stand between your open legs. He’s a lot, all of a sudden, standing there so close. It’s a little overwhelming. You can’t keep your eyes off of his face, eyes straying repeatedly over the little laugh lines stamped at the corner of his eyes and the way his lips are spit-slicked and a little chapped. You’re so close to him, you’d be kissing him if you pressed upwards just a little more. But somehow, you can’t bring yourself to.
“You’re jealous.”
Everything in you screams you should deny the statement. But you can’t lie. The bond would tell him what your face hasn’t already.
“C-can you blame me?”
The words leave you in a puff of breath, barely audible over the clinking glasses and the whir of the jukebox in the corner.
“Why would you be jealous? I promise there’s no reason for you to be jealous. I promise, sweetheart.” There’s something almost knowing in his face.
“I - I should believe you, Bradley, but I don’t. There's no reason why I shouldn't be jealous of the girls who flirt with you who look like that.” You want to believe him, but the words aren't reassuring in the slightest. “E - especially when I know I’ve never once looked like that on my best days, forget my worst.”
He cups your cheek in his big hand, his skin hot against yours.
“Fuck, you’re so beautiful, sweetheart.” He sighs, then, pressing his forehead against yours. “And you don’t even know it, do you? That first night? When you were chatting with Penny at the bar wearing that sundress? I couldn’t keep my eyes off of you. I was tracking you all night. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you ever since. You have a way of taking over the room with your presence. You’re so sure of who you are and what you’re capable of. You’ve never shied about going after what you want. I admire that about you. I adore that about you.”
“So trust me, beautiful, when I say you have nothing to worry about. You never have and you never will. I know it in my very soul.”
This? This is exactly why it took less than two months for you to fall head-over-heels in love with your soulmate. He always seems to know what to say to make you see things in a different way. All of a sudden, it feels like there isn’t anyone else in the room. The noise of the jukebox, of the Daggers squabbling in the background fades away. All you want in that moment is your soul. But just before you fling yourself into his arms, the shattering of glass jolts you out of your feelings. You're too close to Bradley Bradshaw - too close for a pair of colleagues sharing a late night drink after a long day. Were you both anywhere else, you would have kissed him already, given your preoccupation with the taste of him, the scent of him, the feel of him.
Instead, you murmur, “I'm heading out, Roo. I've got this terrible headache and I should probably turn in early for the night.”
You know he's looking at you with those big, deep brown eyes, trying to get you to meet his gaze, convince you to stay for another drink, another chat, another laugh. But you can’t. You're at the end of your rope. If you were to fall now, loosen your grip on the chains keeping you in check, it would result in the destruction of your efforts. The Daggers barely acknowledge your goodbyes, too absorbed by the game of pool happening before their eyes. Penny wraps you in a motherly embrace as you pay your tab, enquiring fussily if you need her to call a cab. With every move you make, you feel eyes on you. You know exactly who it is, your soul, watching eagle-eyed as you collect your bag and walk out to your car. You know it’s that old Bradshaw chivalry rearing its head, something Mav told you Goose had exhibited with Carole his whole life.
So, of course, you're not alone in the sea-perfumed night air for long. Footsteps disturbing gravel follow you as soon as you step out of the pool of light cast by The Hard Deck’s lamps, hints of sandalwood scent curling around you on the breeze.
“C'mon, sweetheart. Don't I even get a kiss goodnight?” He's wheedling, enticing. Damn him, because you ache for his skin in a way you're not sure you could ever voice. He’s weakening your resolve with every step in your direction.
“There isn't even anybody watching!”
“Who said I was saying goodnight, Roo?”
The shell-shocked look on his face makes you giggle as you start your car and drive away from The Hard Deck. The roads are deserted, but not for long. Only seconds later, you hear the growl of an engine and smile at the sight of a blue truck pulling up behind you. Your phone chirps with a text as you idle at a stoplight.
This time, I'm not letting you go.
This time, you muse as the light changes, you don’t intend to let him walk out the door so easily.

Bradley’s father speculation part 3.5
Continuing from Part 3 , we discussed how Bradley’s father is probably a businessman of some sort and how his father focused solely on his career.
Tumblr media
Now like I mentioned in Part 1 and Part 2 , I assessed that Bradley’s dad didn’t have an emotional bond with Bradley, due to Bradley’s reaction when Goofy accused Bradley of not understanding a father’s bond with his son.
Tumblr media
So , with this added knowledge that Bradleys father could be a successful businessman , it would make sense that Bradley wouldn’t understand If he felt like his dad always chose his career over him and focused more on himself than his son.
Now from this part onward though , everything I'm going to say is more debatable and up to interpretation as Bradley’s backstory is left so much to the imagination that there isn’t really any concrete way of saying if any of this is true. This is more like possibilities , hence why this part is more like a short bonus to part 3 as who really knows. Even I don't know really? But never the less here are just some things to potentially consider ?
Was Bradley’s love from his father conditional ?
As we know, being seen as the best really matters to Bradley. To Bradley, even though he's on the same team , It’s not enough that the Gamma’s win the College X games but it has to be himself who has to be the one to come first in the final race.
Tumblr media
Any person in Bradley’s position would have just let Tank win for the team as at the end of the day , if you want your team to win it shouldn't matter who crosses the finish line first as long as it’s one of your own team members that does so.
But not to Bradley though. Having and keeping his status as the College X game King is really important to Bradley. It’s what makes Bradley feel like he really is the best , what gives himself more self-worth and keeps people giving him attention.
Now , putting Bradley’s ego aside. It is possible that when growing up, Bradley has been conditioned to be seen as the best due to his dad giving him unrealistic expectations.
If his father is a narcissistic parent this wouldn’t be too surprising.
www.psychologytoday.com
Tumblr media
We also have to remember that due to Bradley being born into a family who are descendants of royalty, a high elite family , it is possible that he grew up with high expectations whether it be from within the family or from society itself.  Their mentality would probably be ‘They come from the best so they should of course be the best right?’
But any good parent regardless of background , would let their child know that it’s okay to fail and that it's okay if somebody else beats you at something and yet Bradley is very competitive and cares alot about his own status. We also have to remember that Bradley’s values on being the best and being successful are probably values that have been passed down onto him.
so it it makes you wonder how his father would react if Bradley didn’t do better than someone else in something.
As in , did his father only give Bradley positive attention when he was successful and negative attention if he was not?
Here is a segment from How a Child Can Grow Up to Become a Narcissist | Psychology Today
“the child is raised in a family that is very competitive and only rewards high achievement. One or both of the parents are Exhibitionist Narcissists. The family motto is: If you can’t be the best, why bother?
Love is conditional: When you come in first in the race, win the science fair or star in the school show, you are showered with praise and attention. When you do not, you are a disappointment. Everyone in the family is supposed to be special and prove it over and over again. No matter how much you achieve, the pressure is never off. As one woman said: “When I came home with a report card with all A’s, my father asked me if anyone got an A+.”
Children in these families do not feel stably loved. It is hard for them to enjoy anything for its own sake if it does not confer status. Instead of being supported by their parents to explore what they like and want to do more of, they only receive support for high achievement. Their parents are not interested in their children’s “real selves,” they are mainly interested in how their children can make the family look good. They want to be able to brag to their neighbors: “Look at what my kid did!”
The children who grow up in homes like this only feel secure and worthwhile when they are successful and recognized as the “best.” The conditional love of their childhood and the over-evaluation of high status and success in their home sets in motion a lifelong pattern of chasing success and confusing it with happiness.”
If this is true then Bradley would believe that people only think highly of you when you are successful and that you're not worth anyone’s attention if you fail.
It also might give Bradley more of a reason as to why he likes winning so much as he feels like it's the only way he can get constant positive attention from people if he's a always a winner.
To me Bradley wanting to win all the time is like an addiction of his. He can’t just win once or twice , he has to keep winning every year even though he could just quit any time and let one of the other gamma’s compete for him instead.  It’s like he doesn't understand that your value doesn't come from your status or from your own achievements.
This being said , it’s hard to know at what age Bradley started to cheat. His cheats are very child-like after all such as using rockets , marbles , fireworks etc.
In a upbringing like this , if he felt pressure as a kid to be the best and was worried about receiving negative attention from failing , I could certainly see him cheating and then feeling good from the attention he got when he got away with it. Then continuing to keep cheating into his adult hood. But it's hard to say when he started to cheat really?
Or maybe his dad told him it was okay to cheat, who knows?
Now it's not clear if Bradley is given high expectations when it comes to his studies , but I do think he was influenced to take part in sports and to be good at them.
From what we see he plays
snooker
Volleyball
skateboarding
And in the X games we can see that he can cycle and roller skate. You also don't get a body like Bradley’s without being athletically fit and healthy.
Tumblr media
Not only would sports elevate Bradley’s success but it would also elevate the family's success, making their family look more superior.
We also have to remember that with royals in real life ,  it is common for them to attend , host or take part in sport events.
The Royal Family and Sport | The Royal Family
So sport and royalty go hand in hand really.
Makes you wonder if his father was also a sports champion too, doesn't it ? or if he invests his business money in sports.
Well that's all i have for part 3.5
I don't really have any evidence for any of this hence why it's more of a bonus post but it was still something I wanted to add for the sake of consideration and debate as this series of posts is just speculation at the end of the day.
The only thing we know for sure about Bradley’s backstory is that he grew up super privileged from having a royal title and that’s pretty much it. But in a way it's kind of nice for fans to come up with their own interpretations.
Thanks for reading.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. In honor of this becoming a multi-part series I have given it a proper name. I hope you continue to enjoy as much as I enjoy to entertain. 💜

Roses and Thorns - Part II
Y/n slowly opened the front door of Bradley’s house, taking her shoes off at the door. She walked down the hall, a white light flickering across the living room as she approached. Bradley sat on the couch, focusing on the tv.
“Hey B.” Y/n greeted, walking over to the couch. Bradley turned around quickly, his face lighting up as soon as he saw her.
“Y/n, how’d it go?” He asked eagerly.
Y/n hummed a chuckle, plopping down on the couch next to him. Y/n looked over at him and smiled. “Really good actually. I really enjoyed his company.”
Bradley huffed out a chuckle of disbelief. “Now that’s unexpected.”
Y/n punched him in the shoulder gently. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?”
Bradley flinched lightly as the flat part of her fist made connection with his shoulder. The sound was louder than it actually hurt. It was all for dramatic effect. “I’m just saying I know Jake. The women he meets aren’t exactly the ‘dating’ type if you know what I’m saying.”
Y/n rolled her eyes. Bradley had always been over protective of her. She can’t even begin to count the amount of times he probably scared off a boy who liked her. She couldn’t be too upset with him though, He was an excellent judge of character, predicting every breakup she had. He was always there to pick up the pieces when they happened, and she did the same for him. Bradley always hated Rose’s dad from the beginning. He always said he never got the right vibe from the guy. In all, he was good until she brought up the pregnancy. Y/n told Bradley first, and just as he had predicted, rose’s father ran for the hills.
“Are you saying I’m not the dating type?” Y/n commented to provoke an answer.
Bradley violently shook his head back and forth. “No no no, you most definitely are.” He made a face after saying that, as though he was confused or disgusted by what he had just blurted out.
Y/n smirked a little, turning her attention back towards the TV. “Where’s Rose?”
“Passed out in the guest room.” He spoke. Bradley shifted his weight to look at y/n, placing a hand on her shoulder to get her attention.
“Please stay here. I can’t stand the thought of you being in a hotel when there’s a perfectly good bed here. For free.” Bradley squeezed y/n’s shoulder and shook her gently to emphasize the last two words even more.
Y/n waved her hand dismissively at her friend and shook her head. “I couldn’t possibly impose.”
“I insist,” Bradley said more eagerly. “Having Rose around is nothing but a good time. Please.”
Y/n looked at him, raising an eyebrow quizzically. When Bradley poked out his bottom lip in a pout, she knew it was over.
“Alright!” She threw her hands up in surrender. “But you’re coming with me to get my bags.”
“Deal.” Bradley jumped up, grabbing y/n by the arm and dragging her through the house, the both of them laughing wildly.
Tumblr media
Jake had arraigned for him and Bradley to meet at The Hard Deck to go over todays students notes. It had become somewhat of a tradition for the two, meeting there almost every night. Although, tonight Bradley was late and couldn’t figure out why. As he drank a beer, notebook in hand and observing his handwriting, he heard a chair scoot beside him. His attention was brought up to a blonde. Big curly hair, full plump lips and eyes so light blue they almost looked grey. She batted her eyelashes at him and gave him a gentle smile.
“I’ve not seen you around here before.” She commented, taking a drink from her own drink she electively brought over.
“Odd, because I’m here every night.” He commented, raising his eyebrow and his lips curling into a smirk. Old habits die hard he supposed, he flirted with the woman. This time, he had no underlying intention to take her to bed. But Jake Seresin wouldn’t be Jake Seresin if he turned down flirting.
The woman sucked on her teeth with her tongue, purposely leaning more into the table to accentuate her breasts in the low cut shirt. “Well maybe I just wanted an excuse to come talk to you then. I’m Megan.”
“Jake. Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.” Her entire persona was radiating flirtatious tendencies. She had come over here on a mission, sober or not. And soon, Jake would find out why.
“I couldn’t help but notice the uniform, are you in the military?” She twirled her hair around her finger. Jake watched the yellow hair that was already curled stiffly move in between her fingers.
Jake took a drink of his beer and nodded at the woman's comment. "I am. Navy, I fly aircrafts."
"But the navy is the water, right? Ships and stuff? Because their mascot is a seal?" There comes a point in a date - or even just a conversation with a new person - where everything is going good up until they say that one thing. The one thing that twists your gut the wrong way or instantly causes you to become uninterested. Maybe its insensitive towards a minority or belittles an experience that you went through, but its the point of no return. Unfortunately, that had just happened to Jake. Whatever intentions this woman had with him were now unobtainable.
"That's not all that the Navy does." He said in a flat and monotoned voice, now very uninterested in where this conversation was leading. The Hard Deck was quiet tonight. A slow Tuesday evening with the few regulars chatting with Penny at the bar. Even the music wasn't at the level it usually was at. This was the reason that Jake was able to notice the bell on the door ringing, in walking Y/n, Bradley, and Maverick. Rose was on top of Bradley's shoulders, ducking her head way down as instructed when they walked through the door.
Jake felt his gut turn. He couldn't quite tell if it was jealousy or disappointment that he was feeling upon seeing Rose looking so happy while she sat high atop Bradley's shoulders. Bradley took his hands behind his head and lifted Rose up to remove her from the high perch. Penny happily rushed around the bar to greet the little girl who was now running on the ground towards the older woman. Jake wished that it was him walking into the establishment with the girl on his shoulders. He had never felt this way before, about anything.
"So what other things does the navy do?" Megan asked, breaking Jake from his trance.
"Huh?" He questioned, not fully hearing what he had said and now turning his attention towards her for a moment.
Just as she was about to speak again, her attention turned to the distance. Jake followed it, seeing Bradley and Y/n approaching the table. In between them, Rose had a hold of both their hands with either of hers. Bradley sat down next to Megan at the round table, leaving Y/n a spot across from Jake. She sat down, giving him a heartwarming smile. "Hi." She said plainly.
"Hi." He replied back sheepishly.
"Oh my god. She is so stinking cute." Megan raved from beside Jake, leaning down to look at Rose who had climbed in Bradley's lap. "What's your name, sweetie?" Megan asked.
Rose looked up at the woman. Jake could see the weariness in her big blue eyes as she scanned the woman's face. Rose didn't answer, instead she wrapped her little arms around Bradley's and hid her face. Bradley took his free hand and rubbed Rose on the back. "Hey you're okay kiddo."
Megan straightened her back out and looked up at Bradley. "Aw, what a good Dad."
From across the table Y/n let out a noise that sounded like a choke more than a scoff. She laughed and shook her head back and forth. Jake had never felt more jealousy in his entire life than he did in that moment. He didn't think it was possible to be jealous of Bradley Bradshaw, but in this moment, he was jealous monster. He wanted to be the one getting that kind of attention. If it were him, he would have said yes, whether he was the father or not.
"Definitely not the Dad." Bradley corrected her.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Y/n asked Megan in a challenging tone, her gaze flipping back and forth between the woman and Jake.
"I'm Megan." She chirped happily.
"And are you a friend of Jakes?" Bradley asked.
Jake finally gathered up the courage to speak his mind. "No." He said in a rather flat and rude tone. "She was just leaving." Jake gave her a sideways glance, waiting on her to take the hint. After a moment of staring, Megan rolled her eyes, dramatically getting up from the seat and briskly walking away. Once she was gone, Bradley placed Rose in the empty seat between them.
“Nice side piece, Jake.” Bradley teased his friend. Jakes gut turned sour. He looked over at y/n who wasn’t paying attention to the conversation as she looked over the drink menu. On a normal day, he wouldn’t mind Bradley’s banter. In fact it wouldn’t be far from the truth. But with y/n sitting right next to him he felt the need to lash out and defend himself. He didn’t have an interest in that woman and wanted desperately for y/n to know that.
“Not a side piece.” He grumbled at Bradley.
“French fries!” Rose piped up from her seat. Jake looked over at her and smiled. She looked up at him and batted her long, black eyelashes.
“We’re eating at Uncle Mavericks house baby, no French fries.” Y/n informed her daughter. Rose pouted her lip at her mother and looked up at jake. His heart melted, he looked desperately between the two other adults that were at the table. They didn’t seem to pay attention to Roses pouting lip. Jake hadn’t spent a lot of time around kids, not ones as cute as her anyway. Bradley and y/n had developed an immunity. Jake was completely and utterly vulnerable.
“I’m gonna go get one more beer before we get started.” Jake announced, standing up from his chair and walking over to the bar. He leaned over the counter, waiting to catch penny’s attention.
“What can I get for you Jake?” She asked, a kind and charming smile on her face.
“A Budweiser and a basket of fries please, Penny Dear.”
Penny smirked a little as she reached for a glass. She popped the keg and poured it for him. “The fries for Rose?” Penny asked. Jake felt his heart skip a beat and his face get red with embarrassment.
“As far as we’re concerned, they’re for me.” He gave her a playful wink.
Penny hummed a chuckle and set his beer down on the counter for him.
“You know, Bradley told us about your date with Y/n. We’re having dinner tonight, you should come.”
Jakes heart lifted at the opportunity to spend more time with y/n. “Really? I wouldn’t want to impose.”
Penny shook her head. “I insist. We will eat around 8.”
Jake smiled at Penny gratefully. He took his beer and his basket of French fries and returned to the table, plopping down next to Rose. This caught the others’ attention, which was drawn to the fries. Y/n smirked a little, looking between jake and the food on the table.
“Those wouldn’t be for Rose, would they?” She asked.
Jake smirked a little, popping a French fry into his mouth. “Nope. They’re all for me. Every single one.” Jake took a French fry from the basket and brought it under the table. His hand glided towards Rose. She looked at the fry then up at the man. Jake brought a finger to his lips in a shushing motion. Rose erupted into quiet giggles as she took the fry from his hand and shoved it into her mouth.
Jake looked back at y/n, who had a fond smile on her face. She shook her head at Jake, still with a wide smile. Jake smiled back at her, feeling a flutter in his heart.
Tumblr media
Jake was nervous beyond belief pulling up to Maverick and Penny's shared home. He wondered if Penny had told the others that he was coming. He really hoped that was the case, it would be awkward otherwise.
He approached the door and slowly raised his hand to knock, thinking for a brief moment if he should turn around and leave. Nobody would miss him if he didn't show up. He listened to the voices that could be heard inside. The voices were muffled, it was hard to distinguish who was who, except for one. Rose let out a scream that turned into loud laughter.
That alone was enough to make Jake bring his hand back up and knock on the door. There were some voices and shuffling from inside the house before the door handle twisted and then swung open. Jake was met with the smiling face of penny, her hair pulled back into a low ponytail. He assumed she was still cooking considering he arrived a little early.
"I'm so glad you could make it." She said breathily, almost in relief. "You think I'd miss it?" Jake retorted.
"Jake!" Rose's voice exclaimed excitedly and he saw the tiny human running over to him. He knelt down and held his arms open to her. Rose tried to do the same thing her mom did that day on the beach, ducking her shoulder to tackle him. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Jake caught her in the air, flipping her around so she now hung upside-down in his arms up in the air. She let out a string of high pitched giggles which warmed Jakes heart.
"What's up, Kiddo?"
In-between laughs she managed to say, "Come play with us." Jake looked over to where Y/n and Bradley sat on the living room floor, the coffee table pushed aside and disregarded so there was more room. Jake walked over, dramatically swaying Rose from side to side before throwing her down on the couch.
Jake sat down on the floor next to Y/n and met her gaze. They shared a smile and Jake kept his gaze with her until she broke it. Y/n leaned in to whisper in his ear, sending shivers down his spine. "She's been asking to see you since earlier today when you secretly bought her those fries."
"Really?" Jake exclaimed, almost too eagerly. The thought of the little girl wanting to see him again triggered something inside of him that could only be described as paternal.
"Oh yeah, it's been driving Bradley up the wall." Jake glanced over at Bradley with a smirk on his face. Bradley responded by rolling his eyes and picking up a stuffed animal off the floor.
Rose jumped down from the couch and walked over to the stuffed animal that Bradley had in his hands and took it from him. She walked over to Jake and handed him the toy that was previously in Bradley's. "You can be the Zebra."
"Rosie I thought I was the zebra." Bradley protested.
Rose looked over her shoulder at him and said "Not anymore." With as much emotion as a rock. Y/n's hands flew to her mouth as she snorted out a laugh. She looked like she was trying very hard not to laugh.
"Dinner's Ready!" Penny called. Which was probably good for Bradley, he looked like he was about to explode from jealousy. He got up quickly and went into the kitchen, leaving Jake and Y/n on the floor. They looked over at each other only for a brief moment before bursting into laughter.
Tumblr media
Dinner was pleasant, the food was amazing, conversations flowed easily. Despite how many times Jake tried, Bradley would hardly look his direction. And when he, did it was in a scowl. Jake thought this behavior was odd. Bradley was normally such a passive and easygoing guy, so this sudden change of character was noticeable. At least it was to Jake.
Now, the 5 adults sat on the couch and in armchairs all talking, having a few drinks. Rose was playing with her various stuffed animals on the floor. It was 10 o'clock now, way past her bedtime assumably. A large yawn escaped her lips and she stood up, wobbling over to the couch. Rose grabbed onto her mothers pant leg and tugged a little. Y/n, still amidst conversation, picked Rose up and plopped her down in the space between her and Jake. He watched as the little girl swayed side to side, fighting off sleep before finally succumbing to it. Her little body flopped over into Jake's shoulder, out like a light. Jake smiled, moving her head from his shoulder and slowly lowering her down into his leg. He looked down at her sleeping body, little limbs spread out wildly. His heart warmed, that warmth spreading all over his body. Love, this feeling was love. But it wasn't the kind of love he was familiar with. It was new, warmer, lighter, it was as though a hidden cave was uncovered in his chest.
"Someone's wiped." Y/n speaking caught Jakes attention. He met her eyes, soft, motherly eyes and a gentle smile. She was even more beautiful now with her hair tossed up lazily and her mascara slowly wearing off of her face. If they were alone, he would have kissed her then and there. "I can take her." Y/n began to put her hands around the small girls torso.
"No need, I don't mind. I promise." Jake reassured her. Y/n gave him a smile that warmed him almost as much as Rose falling asleep on him. He didn't partake in much conversation after that, he mostly paid attention to the sleeping child. He brushed his fingers lightly over her soft h/c hair.
Unfortunately, all good thing must come to an end. It was time for them to depart. Jake offered to carry Rose out to the car. He walked out the door with Y/n in front of him and Bradley trailing behind. Jake took on the challenge of putting Rose in the car seat. It took a couple tries of Y/n laughing quietly at him. Once she was fastened in the car door was shut quietly.
"Thank you for your help with her. She's really taken a liking to you."
Jake smirked, leaning with one arm against the car and leaning into Y/n's face slightly. "That's good, because I've taken a liking to her."
Y/n raised an eyebrow, looking at him expectedly. "And?" She asked.
"And her mother just so happens to be a very beautiful, sexy woman who I also happen to like." He put on the charm, the largest smirk plastered on his face.
Y/n rolled her eyes with a large grin plastered on her face. She rolled up onto her toes and placed a kiss on his cheek before returning to her flat feet. "Goodnight Jake."
"Goodnight Y/n."
Jake walked around to his car, about to open the driver side door when he was stopped by Bradley. There was something off, his energy seemed hostile and angry. That feeling was proven when he spoke. "Where do you get off playing Dad, huh?"
"Excuse me?" Jake was flabbergasted by the outburst.
"You've never once mentioned anything about wanting a family, and your actions with women sure as hell have never exemplified that."
Jake squared off his shoulders and narrowed his eyebrows at Bradley. "Oh so you can parade around getting asked if you're the father but I can't enjoy spending time around a happy little kid?"
"Oh please we both know you're not interested in Rose, you just want to sleep with Y/n."
It took every ounce of strength inside of Jake not to lay Bradley out on the pavement. He didn't want Y/n to see that side of him. No matter how desperately he wanted to show it. Instead Jake smiled, clapping a hand roughly on Bradley's shoulder which caused the other male to jump slightly.
"Have a good night, Brad."
With that, Jake got into his truck, slamming the door shut and whipping furiously out of the drive.

You had been trying for weeks to tolerate having Cat in your lab and your workspace. She was a great addition to your team. Quick and smart. Everyone else seemed to think she was wonderful. But you... just didn't.
Or rather, Cat didn't seem to like you. There must have been something about you that just rubbed her the wrong way. Other than a greeting each morning when you saw each other, she tended to steer clear of you, preferring to work near Macy and Sonya.
You tried not to let it bug you, but it was hard when Jake was constantly stopping in to see you at work. He was an attention grabber. He was obviously handsome. And he was obviously also not your husband. So you started getting a few looks here and there from your coworkers. And you knew it was all because he thought Cat was gorgeous and wouldn't stay out of your lab.
"What are you doing here?" you asked him one afternoon when he walked in and leaned on the counter next to where you were working on a line of code on your computer. "I just saw you last night at the bar."
"Just saying hi to my favorite engineer," he drawled, eyes resting on Cat where she was working across the room. When she glanced up at Jake, her eyes were softer than they ever were for you.
You turned on your stool to face him. "Why can't you just be honest with me?" you asked him. "You're transparent to me, Seresin."
He looked down his nose at you and raised one eyebrow. "This is a two way street, Angel. And you've not been honest with me."
You looked at him, brow scrunched up. "What are you talking about?"
He sighed. "You're avoiding your husband. He was looking for you at lunchtime today. I don't want to listen to you whining about how much you miss him next time he's deployed when you're avoiding him now."
Your heart lurched. If Jake noticed how you'd been acting the past few days, then Nat probably did too. And you did not enjoy being on the receiving end of her temper when Bradley got angsty because of you.
"I'm not," you whispered. But you kind of were. Your period was due tomorrow, and your thoughts were once again consumed with buying a pregnancy test on your way home from work. Which was ridiculous. Because you knew how you were going to react when it was negative. You were going to spiral again. You were going to upset Bradley again. He kept telling you that none of this was your fault, but you just weren't so sure.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jake asked you softly, his blue eyes fully focused on you instead of Cat. But you shook your head and looked down at your hands in your lap.
"No. Not right now."
"Hey," he said, and you looked up at him. "Whenever you want some girl talk, I'm your man."
You laughed out loud, drawing the attention of your labmates, including Cat. "Thanks, Jake."
"Now," he drawled, leaning against the counter on one elbow, "can you please put in a good word for me?" He nodded toward Cat, and you just rolled your eyes.
"I would, but I don't even know if she's single. She doesn't like me very much."
Jake's eyes went wide. "Everyone likes you."
You just shook your head and said, "Not her. But I need to work on a bunch of proposals and shit with her this month, so I'm going to try my best to get her to crack."
"When you do, make sure you tell her what a stand up guy your good friend Jake is."
You ended up kicking him out shortly after that. And then you texted Bradley.
I love you, Roo. Movie night later?
Then you took a deep breath and grabbed your computer and made your way over to Cat. "Have a few minutes to look at these proposals or maybe check some of my coding?"
"Sure," she replied, pulling out the stool next to hers with her foot.
"Thanks," you mumbled, making yourself comfortable. "I just finished reworking this code if you want to take a look."
Cat sighed and pulled your computer a little closer. "I know this is how you do things around here, but there's a more efficient way."
You looked at her out of the corner of your eye. "Oh. Okay... well, maybe you can show me?"
Now she was the one looking at you cautiously. She sighed again and started typing away on your computer silently, just leaving you to watch what she was doing. You had to admit, she did have an efficient way of working.
"Hey, Baby Girl."
You spun around to find your husband standing behind you.
"Roo," you sighed, hopping up from your stool and wrapping your arms around him.
"I missed you at lunch. Ended up dumping hot sauce all over my food to drown out my loneliness."
You laughed against his chest. "Sorry."
He kissed the top of your head and told you, "You want a movie night? I'll stop and get some beer on the way home."
But you shook your head and looked up at him. "I actually need some other stuff at the store, so I'll grab the beer."
He nodded and smiled at you. "Sounds perfect."
"Wait, did you come all the way up here instead of just texting me back?"
Bradley leaned down close to your ear. "I would do anything for an excuse to see you."
The warmth of his words washed over your body just as Cat cleared her throat. You turned to look at her with embarrassment all over your face.
"Uh, Cat, you remember my husband, Bradley?" you asked awkwardly.
"Yes," she said in a curt voice. "We've met. He's been here several times."
"It's nice to see you again," Bradley replied in his most charming voice, and even Cat wasn't immune to that. She smiled softly at him before turning back to her work.
"You should go," you told Bradley, running your fingers through his hair and kissing him briefly before pushing him toward the door. "See you at home later."
And then he was gone and you were left with Cat and her attitude about the way you got your work done.
-------------------------
Bradley made it home before you. He took Tramp for a short walk after changing into some gym shorts and an old shirt. The neighbors had their grandchildren over, so Bradley stopped and let them play with Tramp. The kids always went absolutely nuts for him, and honestly, Tramp loved the kids probably more than they loved him.
"Trying to get you one of your very own," he told his dog as they walked up the driveway past the Bronco. Tramp jumped up and licked Bradley's hand like he understood. Like he was begging for his own kid to play with. "Working on it."
Bradley knew you were busy with work. Your promotion banquet was coming up soon. And he was pretty sure your period was due to arrive any day now. It felt like you and he were playing the waiting game every month. Bradley didn't really mind too much; trying to get you pregnant was perhaps the least stressful part of his daily routine. Fucking you had been bliss since the very first night he spend with you.
But he could feel the stress in your body every month when you got your period now. When he tried to tell you that sometimes this took time, you didn't want to hear it. And it had only been a few months since you stopped using birth control. But you didn't want to hear that either.
Bradley took Tramp inside, and then he heard your terrifying little car pull into the driveway. You came inside with some shopping bags and a six pack of your favorite beer. "I picked up dinner," you told him. "I think I have PMS, so I got some sushi."
"Perfect," he replied, noting the way you were biting your lip a little nervously. "Come here." He pulled you into his arms. "You pick the movie."
"Hmmm... 90s throwback night?" you asked, wiggling out of his grasp and starting to undress in the living room.
"My favorite," he murmured, watching your shirt slip down your arms.
Then you vanished toward the bedroom, calling out, "Be right back."
He sighed and set up the sushi and beers on the coffee table. Then he fed Tramp dinner and waited for you. When you came back out in one of Bradley's oversized shirts and plopped down on the couch, he was right there with you. He barely paid attention to which movie you chose, realizing about fifteen minutes later that he was watching Wild Things.
When you finished your sushi and took the last sip of your beer, you gently pushed Bradley back along the couch and curled up on his chest. Bradley loved your body weight on top of him like this. He felt warm and secure with your forehead resting on his neck while you watched the movie. But he was watching you and the way you reacted to his fingers gliding along your arm. Your eyelashes brushed along your perfect cheek.
He was thinking about how good you'd look with a baby bump when you shifted a little bit to look up at him. "You like this movie," you said against his chest, and he laughed. He was barely even watching it. "It's got the threesome scene with Neve Campbell and Denise Richards."
Bradley rolled his eyes. "That's not why I like this movie. I like it because it has a good soundtrack."
"Yeah, okay," you said with a laugh. And he let it go until a minute later when you asked, "Do you honestly expect me to believe that you wouldn't jump at the chance to have a threesome if I brought it up?"
Bradley was speechless. He just looked at you for a beat while you watched the movie.
"That's what I thought," you murmured with another laugh.
"Are you fucking kidding me right now?" he asked, shifting underneath you. "Are you trying to insinuate that you are not satisfying me? Or that I am not doing a good job of satisfying you? Because either way, I have a problem with this."
He grasped your chin between his fingers until you were looking up at him. "I was just making my point that you'd want to."
"I would not," he said louder. "Would you?"
You shook your head. "Of course not."
He blinked at you a few times. "I think about you and only you all fucking day long. And I'm too jealous and stubborn to share you. So don't ever make a comment like that again, okay? And if I'm not doing a good job, just tell me."
"You are!" you insisted, propping yourself up so that your chest was just grazing his and your lips were inches from his chin. "You make sure I cum before you do like ninety percent of the time, and you have a huge dick!"
"There's a little more to it than that," he growled. "If I'm not making you feel like you're important to me, then what's the point?"
You gasped and kissed his chin. "Roo. I'm sorry I said anything."
Bradley was a little worried about his performance now. Last week on the dining room floor, he wasn't sure if you came or not. His knees started hurting from digging into the hardwood. Maybe his nearly thirty seven years of age were showing. And when he bent you over the piano bench, he had to work very hard to get you off with his fingers before he came.
"Oh my goodness," you said, a little louder now. "You're not even lying, are you? You actually wouldn't want to have a threesome."
"No! We made wedding vows! I'm not about to stick my dick in anyone except you! And I wouldn't even want to!"
Your lips were on his, and your fingers were tangled in his hair. You were straddling his waist and murmuring, "You're so sweet, Roo."
He pulled you tight against him, letting you feel how hard he was for you. "I'm fucking crazy about you, Sweetheart," he swore. "If I'm not satisfying-"
But your lips were on his again, and you were rubbing yourself against his abs. Bradley grabbed at your hips underneath the oversized shirt. "You are!" you promised. "You're incredible. We're incredible."
"Then why the fuck are you saying that stuff?" he groaned when you started sucking on his neck.
"You're going to give me a complex."
"I'm sorry," you whispered. "I'm just feeling a little insecure today."
"Why?" Bradley asked, easing his hands up along your waist, enjoying the feel of your smooth skin. "Why would you ever have a reason to feel insecure? You're perfect."
You ran your nose along his Adam's apple. "Cat Coleman hates me for some reason. And I'm going to have to work a little bit this weekend, because I'm behind on the proposals. And my period is coming despite my best efforts."
"Stop it," Bradley said, gently squeezing your waist so that you met his eyes. You sat up, straddling his torso. "If Cat Coleman doesn't like you, then she's an idiot. I can help you this weekend. It's supposed to rain. You can read the proposals out loud to me while I feel you popcorn. And if you get your period, then we'll keep trying. Like I said, you're perfect."
You smiled down at him and started to pull his shirt up over his abs. "Okay, Roo."
"We got nothing to worry about," he whispered, tucking his finger inside your underwear, making you gasp as he stroked you. "Unless you start telling me you do want to have a threesome."
"I don't," you promised, kissing his lips. And then you pulled Bradley's shorts and underwear down to his thighs, and your slick pussy met his cock. "This okay?"
"'Course," he grunted. You slipped him inside, and once he was fully seated, you glanced up and kissed him again.
Then you carefully pressed your chest to his. "I love you, Roo." Your lips were soft on his scarred neck and cheek as he ran his hands up and down along your back. He was so comfortable like this, with you warming his cock. You softly fluttered around him, soothing him with every little squeeze and movement. You had control over him. You always did, because he'd given it to you. But your fingers in his hair and your soft voice near his ear...you just owned him.
More than anything, he wanted to make you happy. Take your stress away. And he knew that in the next few days, you'd either be delighted or miserable again, depending on if you got your period. So he wanted to enjoy this moment with you. Let you enjoy yourself with him.
As soon as you started moving your hips, you were moaning softly. Bradley pressed himself up against you, rubbing his rough hairs along your clit. "Tell me what you want."
You sighed and moved your hips a little faster. "Make it last forever."
Bradley wasn't sure if you were talking about this moment in particular or everything. But he'd make it all last for you. For his wife. You rode him on the couch until you came, chanting his name with his hands all over your breasts. Then he flipped you over onto your back, and you wrapped your legs around his waist while he fucked you nice and slow.
"You didn't cum yet," you gasped a few minutes later when he stroked your clit closer to another orgasm.
"You told me to make it last forever," he whispered, cock deep inside you as he pinched you and listened to you whine for him.
When he finally ended up in bed with you, he was a sweaty mess, and your pussy was filled with his cum. You were babbling softly as he tucked you in and plugged your phone into the charger. He went back to the living room to turn off the movie that he hadn't even watched and let Tramp out into the backyard. Yeah, he wanted this to last forever, too. Whether it was just the three of you or not.
---------------------
The next morning, you were in tears again. When you stopped for beer and sushi on the way home last night, you made a little detour to buy some more pregnancy tests. Negative. They were always negative. Bradley was dicking you down constantly. You'd made him feel so insecure last night, that he held onto you this morning and wouldn't let you get out of bed.
"We'll be late for work," you whispered, knowing you'd have to get Bradley out of the house so you could take one of the tests before you left, too.
"I love you too much to get up."
"If you get up now, I'll make you an omelette."
You laughed when Bradley jumped out of bed, and even after you made breakfast and sent him on his way, you had time to take the pregnancy test before you left too.
Crying in your car on your way to work had become this kind of sick routine. But at least you had fifteen minutes to get it out of your system before you parked. Then you had another ten minutes to make your face look neutral again before you made it to your lab with your computer.
You barely said a word to anyone until it was time for lunch. Part of you wanted to pull the same stunt you'd been pulling for weeks and tell Bradley you were too busy to eat in the cafeteria with him. But Jake was right. When Bradley was deployed again, you'd be nonstop wishing he was here with you. So you locked your computer and followed everyone else out.
"Hey, Cat?" you called out before you could stop yourself. She turned her dark, appraising eyes on you, and you sucked in a deep breath as you caught up with her. You knew Jake wanted to get to know her, and you knew that would be made much easier for him if in fact you got to know her first.
"Yes?"
"Just wanted to see if you wanted to eat lunch with me. I'll probably sit with my husband and some of our friends, if you-"
"I'm going to eat with Sonya. But thank you." Her face was still expressionless as she cut you off. But you didn't want to be deterred so easily.
"Okay," you said with a forced smile. "Well, we're going to hang out at the Hard Deck later, maybe shoot some pool or play darts. If you want to-"
"I'll think about it, thanks."
And then she was strolling down the hallway away from you. And the tears were filling your eyes all over again. You turned toward your office and pulled your phone out of your pocket.
I'm going to eat in my office.
As soon as you unlocked the door, Bradley had written back.
Bradley Rooster Bradshaw <3 <3 <3: I'll bring some sandwiches up and join you.
You managed to calm yourself down, taking deep breath after deep breath while you organized your file cabinet. But when Bradley knocked on the open door and you looked up to see his smile, you burst into tears.
"Sweetheart." He kicked the door closed and tossed the sandwiches onto your desk. "Come here." He sat down in your chair and patted his thigh, and you sank down to meet his big body while you sobbed. He held you and let you cry as you curled your legs up under yourself and burrowed against him.
You wiped the tears away but kept your eyes closed as you said, "I took a pregnancy test after you left the house this morning. Of course it was negative. I don't know why I keep getting my hopes up."
You could feel his lips and mustache in your hair as he kissed you. His voice was gentle as he said, "You need to stop doing that alone, okay? We can do it together if you miss your period. I don't want you to keep hiding what's going on from me."
You looked up at him with tear streaked cheeks. "You know you're going to get deployed again soon, right?" you asked as you hiccupped. "And then we're going to lose out on months of trying. I feel like if this doesn't happen soon, it's never going to, Bradley."
The irritation you knew must have been all over your face didn't seem to penetrate him at all. You'd been subconsciously baiting him last night while you watched the movie. Hoping for him to validate all of your inadequacies. Your mind thriving on the idea that even your husband thought you weren't good enough for him after all.
But all he ever did was love you and encourage you. And right now, you couldn't stand that, either. Because when he said, "We have time, and we have each other," you started sobbing again in earnest.
He held you for so long, you were certain he would get in trouble with Maverick for taking an unnecessarily long lunch. "You didn't eat your sandwich," you whispered as he rubbed your back.
"I'll eat it when I walk back over," he promised. "Which I'm not going to do until you promise me you'll stop shutting me out."
You nodded at him and whispered, "I'll do better, Roo." Then you handed him one of the sandwiches and scrambled off of his lap. "You need to go before you get in trouble."
He leaned down to kiss you. "Nah, Mav's a softie for you. If I tell him I needed to spend some time with you, he's not going to care too much, Baby Girl."
"Okay," you sniffed, looking at the other sandwich. But you'd lost your appetite now. Which was fine. You were beginning to think that the weight you gained and never lost from the wedding and honeymoon could be adding to your fertility issues. You scheduled a physical with your doctor for just after your promotion banquet. Skipping a meal here and there was honestly probably a good idea.
"I'll see you at home? Hard Deck after dinner?" Bradley asked, running his fingers along your cheek. You brought your attention back to him and nodded.
"See you at home."
But later that night, while you were at the bar with your friends, you couldn't stop thinking about the negative test. You couldn't stop thinking about your fertility. You couldn't stop thinking about how hungry you were.
And then you saw Cat sitting at the bar with Macy. When you caught her eye, there was barely a flash of recognition, even though you had invited her to hang out in this very establishment barely eight hours ago.
You tried to block it all out as your stomach ached from period cramps. But after another hour, you were tugging on Bradley's hand and whispering, "Let's go home?"
He eyed you cautiously as he finished the last of his beer. "Whatever you want, Sweetheart."
Home. That's what you wanted.

Well, they can try again next month. But I'm worried about her. Thanks to @mak-32 and @beyondthesefourwalls

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It was meant to be much easier.
A full day of driving: San Diego to Napa in 10 hours, if you’re lucky. But Bradley is a good driver and it was cheaper than flying this time of year if you split gas and you really thought it would be fine. That’s what you told yourself.
“Fucking Nat,” you mutter, inaudible over the pounding of the rain on the windshield. Of course she had to have her fucking birthday party — which is really just a party with the other aviators and you — in Napa, of all places. Of course she’d suggest you and Bradley drive together.
Of fucking course.
“I think we’re going to have to call it,” Bradley says. He’s white knuckling the wheel, which can’t be a good sign considering he flies million dollar jets for a living. “This isn’t going to get any better and I’m worried we’ll get stranded if we wait too long to pull off.”
It really is pouring. It started a half hour ago and hasn’t let up since. And now it’s dark and you can barely see in front of you with the headlights on.
“Yeah, okay.”
He pulls off at the next exit — you think you’re somewhere south of San Francisco, maybe near Carmel? You look for a motel on your phone as the car crawls down the empty exit ramp.
“There’s a Days Inn in .5 miles if you turn…right?” you tell him. “That work?” Bradley doesn’t look at you, eyes focused on the road. His jaw is tense.
“Is that okay for you?” You’re not sure what he’s implying. At this point, you don’t really care where you stop as long as you do.
“Cheap is fine,” you say. “I just want to sleep.”
The corner of his mouth pulls up for just a second. “Me too. Maybe we can order food, or something. I’m starved.” He’s always hungry.
“Okay.”
Rooster is a good guy. You know it, everyone knows it. Nat knows you have a bit of a thing for him, which is why you’re in this car. What she doesn’t know is that you and Bradley…got drunk at the last Hard Deck theme night and made out in the bathroom. You had his tongue in your mouth and your legs around his waist and his hand on your breast and you felt him through your thin shorts and. Well. What Nat doesn’t know is you remember all of it in excruciating detail, the sounds he made, the way he groaned your name, his hands on your skin, and Bradley, it seems, remembers none of it. He has not called you or brought it up since.
Is that bad? Not really. Maybe he doesn’t remember. You were both pretty drunk, though you distinctly remember him asking you Are you sure? as he hoisted you onto the bathroom counter. But whatever. Maybe he regrets it and is saving face because you’re all friends and it would make things awkward, especially before Nat’s big weekend. Maybe he doesn’t like you at all and he’s embarrassed. You’re not about to ask him and find out when you still have hours on the road together.
The Days Inn is a typical California motel — doors on the outside, mercifully covered by an overhang. Rooster parks as close to the reception office as he can. “I’ll go get rooms and then park wherever they are,” he tells you. “Stay here?”
“Not going anywhere.” Neither of you have raincoats so he just takes a deep breath and then shoves the door open and makes a run for it. You sigh.
God damn. He really was a good kisser. Sitting next to him for the last few hours hasn’t been awkward, not really, but you’ve had to stop yourself from staring. At his chorded forearms, the tan expanse of his neck. His hands, the memory of them pressing into your hips hard enough to bruise, his thumb rubbing your nipple through your shirt that night —
Fuck. He’s been nothing but nice to you, which somehow makes it worse. He ghosted you, maybe without knowing, and all you want to do is touch him. It’s driving you insane.
The car door opens and you jump a little, eyes flying open. You hadn’t realized you’d closed them.
“Sorry,” Bradley says. “Good news and bad news.” He turns in his seat so he’s facing you as much as he can. He shivers a little. He must be cold. “They have…a room,” he says slowly. “And it’s, uh, only one bed. A queen.”
“Oh,” you say. You can’t think of a single other word.
“Yeah,” he continues. He runs a hand through his wet hair. “She said that everyone is booked up because of the storm. I got the room, but I can tell her we don’t want it and we can keep driving if you want, find somewhere else around here. Or I can just sleep on the floor, obviously, but I don’t want you to —”
“It’s okay,” you interrupt. “Bradley, it’s fine. No big deal. We can share the room and the bed.” He blinks and you look anywhere but his face. “It isn’t safe to keep driving and we’re both tired and need something to eat.” The bed, though…you’re not sure what to think of your offer but it’s too late to take it back now.
He nods once, a sharp jerk of his chin. A drop of water runs down his nose. “Okay.” He drives around to the back of the hotel and parks in front of what you assume is your room. “Ready?”
You grab your bags from the back seat and throw open the door, hopping out and running the few feet until you’re under the overhang. Only a few seconds and you still feel like you’re soaked.
Bradley unlocks the door with an rusty key on a blue tag and gestures for you to go in. “There’s a local pizza place that’ll deliver in this,” he says, locking the door behind you. “At least the reception lady thinks so. I have their number and I can call them?”
You keep talking to each other in questions, like you’re both unsure of yourselves. It’s…strange. You put your stuff down on the — yep, one — bed and sit, toeing off your wet shoes.
“Whatever you want is fine.” You shiver. “I’m cold so I’m going to, uh, take a shower. Unless you want to?” A question again.
Bradley shakes his head. “No, you go. Get warm. I’ll go after.”
You grab the first comfortable and dry thing from your bag you can find and bring it into the bathroom with you. Fuck. How are you going to do this?
The shower does wonders to warm you up but you can hear Bradley’s voice through the wall, low and steady as he talks to the pizza place. Your hand drifts down your stomach, ghosts between your legs before you yank it away. No. Get it together. You’re friends.
Enough of that. You towel off and put on your clothes only to find that you…didn’t bring your shorts into the bathroom with you. You stare at your underwear and t-shirt hopelessly as if it’ll make them appear. “Are you fucking kidding me,” you say. You could use your hair towel and wear it like a skirt but your hair is wet and your t-shirt is white and the only other towel in here is for Bradley. “This cannot be real,” you tell your reflection.
Nothing to be done, it seems. You’re going to have to go out there in only a t-shirt that barely hangs past your ass.
So you do. Bradley clears his throat. You glance at him and he shifts in the chair he’s in at the tiny table. “Pizza should be here soon,” he says, gruffly. His eyes don’t seem to know where to land. “I’m going to shower.”
He’s up and through the door before you can say anything. “Okay, then,” you mutter. You dig in your bag for your sleep shorts and…can’t find any. Great. You’re going to share a bed with him in only a t-shirt.
Someone rings the doorbell and you abandon all pretense and take the towel from your head and wrap it around your waist. The peephole reveals it to be the pizza, so you open the door and a teenager hands it to you without a word and runs back to his car.
“Thanks!” you call. You set it on the table and hear the shower still running. “Pizza’s here!” you yell through the wall.
Bradley makes a noise that sounds like a curse. “Go ahead!” he shouts back.
“Fine,” you say to the empty room. “Don’t mind if I do.” You crack open the box and see that he’s gotten all the stuff you like. You have no idea how he knows that.
You’ve had two pieces by the time he comes out. It’s like a fucking porno the way the door opens and steam rushes out to reveal Bradley, shirtless and damp, a towel wrapped around his waist. The temperature of the room seems to shoot up exponentially.
You fist one hand in the towel you’ve draped across your lap and don’t even try to look away. “Forgot my clothes out here,” he mutters. You don’t say anything. You watch the muscles of his back flex, watch the water drip down his shoulder blades. You can see the v of his hips, the hair that disappears under the towel.
You wonder how big his dick is.
Good god. Cut it out.
He rifles through his own bag and you watch that, too. You swallow and press a palm to your cheek. God, you’re flustered. There’s no way you can sleep next to him like this. You have to face it head on.
“Bradley,” you say. Your voice is lower than you’d expected.
“Yeah?” He doesn’t turn around.
“Do you remember that night at the Hard Deck?”
He stills for just a second, so quick that you wouldn’t notice if you weren’t staring at him.
“Which one? We’re there a lot.”
Okay, that’s it. You stand, leaving the towel on the chair as you walk across the scratchy carpet to stand right behind him.
“C’mon,” you say, serious now. “You know that I’m talking about.”
He turns around and seems a little startled to see you so close. His eyes rake down your form and linger on your bare legs before snapping up to your face.
“Do you remember it?” he asks. His hands are fists at his sides.
You are getting frustrated. “Well, I’m asking, aren’t I? Why haven’t we talked about it?”
“You were drunk!” he says, exasperated. He runs his hands through his hair, biceps flexing in a way that makes you press your thighs together even tighter. “I took advantage of you!”
The laugh that comes out of you is like a bark. “You did not,” you say. “You didn’t, Bradley, I remember it all and I wanted it all.” It’s true. You were drunk, but if anything it gave you the courage to rub your ass against him on the dance floor, to take his hand and drag him to the bathrooms, to read his blown pupils for desire.
He looks stressed. “Nat said you were throwing up like, twenty minutes later!”
You wince. Yeah, that did happen, but that was on you. “That was an ill-timed shot and too many chicken wings,” you admit.
Bradley tips his head back and stares at the ceiling, sighing your name. You want to lick the vein in his neck.
You reach out and put your palm on his bare abdomen. His muscles contract and you feel it as well as see it. He might be the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen. “If you want to forget it, just tell me,” you say softly. “If it was a mistake or your embarrassed to have done it with me—”
His hand circles your wrist. “No,” he says firmly. “No.” Softer this time. “I don’t regret it. It wasn’t…I—” He takes a breath that you feel. “I just thought I fucked it all up.”
“Fucked what all up?” The air in the room is still hot but it’s like time has stopped. Like nothing apart from you two matters.
“My chance with you,” he says softly. Bradley looks at you, pupils blown but with such a raw expression it takes your breath away. This man is so much more than he appears.
“Oh,” you breathe. “No, I don’t think you did.” He couldn’t. You don’t know what it would feel like to not want him.
He releases your wrist and reaches for your face, his wide palms settling on your jaw. You close your eyes and wait for him to commit, wait for him to finish what he started, and he does. His lips are light on yours at first but once you press back it turns into something firmer. You wrap your arms around his neck and his hands move, one sliding under your shirt to grab your bare hip and the other winding in your hair.
The kiss turns messy, tongues and teeth until his lips trail down your neck. “I’ve wanted to kiss you since that night,” he pants, nipping and soothing with his tongue.
“I’ve wanted more than that,” you gasp. You grasp his biceps for dear life.
“Oh yeah?” His fingers brush the bottom of your breast. “If it’s a competition, I’m winning,” he rasps in your ear. “I had to jack off in the shower just now after you came out here in a t-shirt.”
You groan. You actually groan at his words. You slide one hand down his damp skin until you find the edge of the towel still around his waist. “Can I?”
“Yes,” he hisses. You tug on it and it gives, falling to the ground at your feet. You look down and find his cock already hard, ruddy and weeping, demanding your attention.
“See how badly I want you?” Bradley backs you up until your knees hit the bed and you sit down suddenly. And there he is, naked head to toe, chest flushed and heaving and all you’ve done is kiss. You get an eye full — he’s big, no surprise there — as he takes himself in hand and strokes, eyes fluttering shut. Your clench around nothing. He’s going to ruin you.
“Let me do that,” you say. Maybe he’ll let you suck him off. You can imagine his weight on your tongue, his hands in your hair as you gag around him.
“Won’t last long,” he pants. “Next time.”
Next time. That sounds nice. You scoot back on the bed, shoving your bag to the floor, and pull off your shirt. It goes flying somewhere that doesn’t matter. Bradley groans, stroking himself slowly as he watches you. “Look at you,” he says. “Better than I imagined.”
He goes back to his bag to dig through it a bit desperately and you stretch out on the bed. It he doesn’t touch you soon you might die. You spread your legs wide and look down to find a wet spot on your panties. Fuck. He’s hardly touched you and you’re soaked.
Your fingers work their way under the damp material and you run them through your folds and sigh with pleasure, eyes fluttering. “What did you imagine?” you ask.
“All sorts of things,” he says. “I’m very creative.” He makes a triumphant noise and holds up a condom. His eyes narrow when he sees what you’re doing on the bed. “Fuck. I —” He swallows. His cock twitches. “Do you want to?”
“Oh, I want you to fuck me, Bradley.” His nostrils flare. “Like, right now.”
“You’re going to be the death of me,” he mutters. He saunters over to the bed looking better than your best wet dream. “You have no idea how goddamn good you look right now. Can you take those off for me, sweetheart?”
The pet name coincides with the pads of your fingers brushing your clit and you moan. Right now, you’re pretty sure you will do anything he asks of you. You pull your panties off and toss them.
“Spread for me,” he says. You do and he puts his hands on the insides of your thighs and just looks. It makes you a little shy but you also feel…powerful. There is hunger in his gaze, raw want and desire. He licks his lips and strokes your skin. “Here’s my plan,” he says.
You throw an arm over your eyes. Always a man with a plan.
“I’m going to fuck you with my fingers first,” he says. His fingertips trail up your thigh and you squirm. One of them brushes your clit ever so slightly. “And then I’ll fuck you properly until you scream.” His thumb presses down on it. You keen, high and long. Bradley ignores it. “And then we’ll eat more pizza and then I’ll have desert.”
His hands disappear and you whine. “Do I get some, too?” Bradley laughs and despite the situation, the filthy, filthy things he’s saying, it sounds genuine. You pull your arm away to look at him. He tosses the condom on the bedside table.
“You get whatever you want, sweetheart.”
He kneels on the bed, crawls up your body and kisses you deeply. You feel him hot and hard against your stomach. “Does that sound good?”
You nod. “Get to it, Lieutenant.”
He groans like you’ve touched him. Bradley kisses you firmly, his mustache scratchy in the most delicious way as he licks into your mouth. One of his hands pays attention your nipples and the other slips down your stomach to your folds.
“God,” he says against your jaw. “You’re so wet.” He circles your clit a few times before pressing one finger inside you. You know right away it’s not enough. You fist one hand in the sheets and the other in his hair. “Prettiest cunt I’ve ever seen. All for me.”
“More,” you groan. “More, please.” You think he might tease you but he obeys right away, giving you another one as he starts to fuck you with them. You’re so wet that it’s making filthy noises as you writhe under his touch.
If you had more presence of mind you’d try to make it good for him, too, jerk him or at least pay him some kind of attention, but you’re barely hanging on. He ruts against your thigh as your pleasure builds.
You grab for him desperately, bringing his face as close as you can get it. “Fuck me,” you say. “Please, Bradley.”
Your plea seems to undo him. “Yeah?”
You nod frantically. He pulls away and you try to catch your breath as he tears open the condom and rolls it on. You keep your legs spread and he settles back between them, hands on your thighs as he looks at you again. “You’re so beautiful,” he says.
“That’s nice.” You arch your back. “Please fuck me now.”
He laughs again. His chest is flushed and damp, eyes bright and pupils blown. “Okay, sweetheart.”
He drags the head of his cock through your folds a few times before hitching one of your legs around his hip and pressing into you slowly, slowly, slowly.
“Talk to me,” he gasps.
He’s big, but you want him so badly that the stretch comes easy. It feels incredible. “Keep going, I—” It’s like you can feel every inch of him. Every vein, every ridge. You could lie here with his cock inside you forever. “God, how big are you?”
He laughs but it’s a rasp and a groan all in one. “Almost done, baby.”
“Baby,” you mock. You love it.
Bradley presses a kiss to the corner of your mouth. “Hush.”
Just when you’re starting to think that maybe you can’t take him, he bottoms out and you’re both panting.
He steadies himself over you and you hook your ankles behind his back and roll your hips.
“Fuck,” he hisses. “This might not go as long as I’d hoped.”
“Fine with me so long as you get going.” He presses his forehead to yours and starts to move, his hips going slow and then faster when you urge. His cock drags along your walls as he gets impossibly deep with every thrust. One of his huge hands presses into your side hard enough to bruise and you hold on for dear life.
The rain is probably still pounding outside but you don’t hear it over the smacking of his balls against your skin, the sound of your slick, your combined moans.
“God, you feel so good,” he pants, breath hot on your face. “Taking all of me, so tight—” He kisses you but it’s more like a desperate press of his mouth to yours.
“Bradley,” you manage. “Bradley I—” All words seem too far away, so you settle for chanting his name, your nails digging into his back.
“C’mon, baby,” he says. “So close, so close, yeah? Lemme feel you.”
One of his hands rubs roughly at your clit, the coil in your belly winding tighter and tighter and you can only get out one last gasp of his name before it snaps and you jerk in his hold, back arching and cunt spasming around him, clenching over and over.
“Fuck,” he hisses. “Fuck, just like that, oh shit —” And then he’s chanting your name in a punched out voice and his thrusts become erratic. You come down from your high just as he begins his, body stilling above you as he thrusts, once, twice, then shudders.
He pulls out of you and flops to your side. You’re both sweaty and panting.
Bradley’s hand reaches blindly until he finds yours and kisses the back of it.
“Can I take you out?” he says. “When we get back?”
He just fucked you within an inch of your life and he’s asking you on a date?
You laugh, exhausted and thrilled. “Sure, Bradley.”

ily can we can a sneakie peak at what our rocketman is up to?
yes you may 🥰 especially since it’s rocketman’s birthday 💁🏼‍♀️ i’ve been stuck on the smut lol (he’s been going down on that poor girl for weeks), but i have a lot of the lead up to their vacation written, so here’s a cute little scene from the day before they leave:
//
Bradley poked his head into the dining room where you’d made up your office for the day. It was on the tip of his tongue to ask why you weren’t using the office upstairs, but he held back. He liked that you were downstairs, he liked that you were close.
Of course he’d seen you work from home before. But there was something about seeing you holding meetings and taking calls for the first time in your home that made him smile.
But though you were taking a half day to prepare for leaving tomorrow, Bradley knew you’d be checking your email and Slack for the rest of the afternoon before officially logging off for the next 10 days.
10 days in Punta Mita - just the two of you, no distractions, no emails, no training runs, nothing but the sun, sea, and sex.
Just you and me, kid.
Bradley slightly stepped into the room and leaned against the doorframe. “I’m gonna go for a run, but should be back for lunch.”
You turned around and took out your airpods before responding. “Sounds good, how much are you thinking?”
“Probably a quick 10k?” It had been ages since Bradley had run his usual route through Balboa Park, so these last few days had been a treat.
“‘A quick 10k,’ he says. I should be done by the time you get back then?” He nodded. “We can have lunch and then I’ll head out on my errands.”
Errands? “Oh? I didn’t know you were going out?”
You sat up straighter and fully focused on him. “Yeah, I have to get my nails done and then have to pick up a couple things - like your special sunscreen...”
“Can I come?” he asked, completely ignoring the sunscreen comment. It wasn’t special per se, it was just high SPF since he burned easily.
“Really?” You sounded surprised. “It’ll be pretty boring.”
“No, I wanna come with you.” I wanna spend time with you.
A bashful smile appeared on your face. “Okay, then maybe we can get lunch out instead? Make an afternoon or it? There’s a bunch of places around the salon.”
“Your old stomping grounds?” Bradley asked, referencing your old neighborhood near Gaslamp.
You shook your head. “Nah. Figured I’d try someplace around here, but the only one that looks promising is way up on 30th?”
“I think we can make due with that,” he pecked your cheek, “alright, I’ll see you in a bit, kid. Don’t work too hard.”
“Har, har, see you soon.”
Bradley shot you a wink and set off. Who knew, maybe he’d set a new PR in his haste to get back to you?

The next day literally dragged on for what felt like days. Both Jake and Bradley constantly looking over at you, but neither one of them saying a word. Of course you didn’t give neither of them so much as a smile.
It wasn’t a good day of training either. Nobody was communicating with each other, and they weren’t acting like a team. Maverick and Admiral Simpson were both disappointed and frustrated. The mission was only a couple weeks away, and everyone still wasn’t learning.
Admiral Simpson was also getting on you about choosing a team leader for this mission. He suggested Jake, but you argued that he would get his entire team killed if he led the mission. It was like you were stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Today though you were completely distracted, and your head was in the clouds. Right now you couldn’t think or make any type of decision. You felt like you needed to escape from here.
Ever since that night going on your somewhat date with Jake, and running into Bradley. Only to hear the truth, and both men wanting you to choose them. It was hard and that’s why you decided to go home alone. Bradley being kind enough to drive you home.
You didn’t kiss you didn’t hug. You just said your goodbyes, and laid in bed until it was time to get up. Mind going crazy over everything that’s been happening, and wondering what you should do.
Standing next to Maverick as you watched the pilots strolling in to take their seats. Pete asking you if you were okay, and of course you lied not wanting to burn his ears off with everything that’s been going on.
Admiral Simpson and Solomon walked in with Simpson taking a seat in the back, and Solomon walking up to the podium with a stoic look on his face.
“Good morning pilots.” Warlock greeted everyone. “The mission will be operational earlier than expected. The new shipment will be delivered within about ten days time. As a result your mission has been moved up one week.”
Everyone including Maverick looked nervous hearing this news. It was unexpected and quite honestly terrified the pilots.
“But sir nobody has successfully flown a low level course.” Coyote spoke.
“You’ve been ordered to move on.” He responded complete silence filling the room.
Looking across the room you saw that Bradley was already staring at you. You could tell by the look on his face that he was worried. Instinctively you cracked a smile for him in reassurance. He mimicked you as you turned away to look back at Warlock.
“Captain.” He signaled to Maverick who now stood in his place placing his hands on the podium.
“We have one week left to focus on the most dangerous part of the mission. It’s a pop up strike with a steep dive requiring nothing less than two miracles.” A heavy sigh leaving your lips. “We need to focus on this mission, and you need to listen to every instruction that is given to you.”
Maverick looked to you to speak now making you step forward clearing your throat. Your mouth so dry it was like the Sahara desert.
“Two pairs of F-18s will fly in a welded wing formation.” All eyes now focused on you. “Team work. Precise coordination of these aircraft are essential to this missions success and your survival.”
“As you have read this plant rests between two mountains.” Pointing to the screen behind you showing a simulation of what it’s going to look like. “On the final approach you’ll invert directly into a steep dive. This allows you to maintain the lowest possible altitude, and the only possible attack angle.”
Looking at the pilots expression you could see them all twitching and fidgeting in their seats. They tried to put on brave faces, but you saw the fear behind their eyes.
“Your target is an impact point less than three meters wide. The two seat aircraft will paint the target with a laser bulls eyes. The first pair will breach the reactor by dropping a laser guided bomb on an exposed ventilation hatch. This will create an opening for the second pair.”
“That’s miracle number one.” Maverick interrupted before you could say anything more.
Some shook their heads in disbelief, and others looked around at the other pilots making sure they heard all this correctly. It sounded easier than it was going to be.
“The second team will deliver a kill shot and destroy the target.” You finished as Bradley gave you a encouraging smile.
“That’s miracle number two.” Maverick raised two fingers this time. “If either team misses the target.”
Looking over at Maverick who had a very serious expression.
“The mission is a failure.” Bowing your head down to the thought of them failing or losing their lives because of this mission.
“The mountain is a very steep high- G climb out to avoid hitting this mountain.”
“A steep climb at that speed your pulling at least 8 G’s.” Jake spoke up saying what everyone else was thinking.
“9 minimum.” Maverick responded.
“Has anyone actually ever achieved that?” Jake sounded skeptical.
“I did.” Maverick sounded proud of his achievement.
You remember that day very clearly too. Maverick pushed 10 G’s, and pissed off almost every Admiral that was watching. Laughing to yourself as the cursed mutters in the room, while some of them were chuckling at Mavericks bold action.
“To survive this mission you will pull beyond that. Even if it means bending your air frame.”
Looking over to see Admiral Simpson closing his eyes, and shaking his head at Mavericks words. You knew Simpson wanted this mission to be as clean as possible, but with Mavericks reputation you knew he’d tell them to push their limits.
“You’ll be pulling so hard you’ll weigh close to two thousand pounds. Your skull crushing your spine. Your lungs imploding like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Fighting with everything you have just to keep from blacking out.”
You could feel a lump forming in your throat at the thought of Bradley struggling in the jet. Imaging the worst case scenario. The last thing you would want is for that to happen to him, and Bradley loses control and crashes.
“And this is where you’ll be at your most vulnerable. This is what we’re calling coffin corner.” Bob looked like he was either going to throw up or pass out.
“Assuming you avoid crashing into this mountain you’ll climb straight up into enemy radar while losing all of your air speed.” Everyone now focused on the screen as they showed another video demonstration.
“Within seconds you will be fired upon by enemy SAM’s.” Those were powerful missiles and everyone else knew that too.
This was a mission that couldn’t go wrong. They don’t want to fail, but they also didn’t want to lose any pilots. That’s why they wanted the best of the best. Pilots that they felt could achieve this and survive.
“This is gonna take you and your aircraft to its breaking point.” Mavericks tone was almost like a warning.
“Sir is this even possible?” Natasha spoke up this time.
“The answer to that will be up to the pilot in the box.”
Maverick was speaking to everyone, but his words were meant more for Bradley. The pair stared at each other for a few seconds like they were having some sort of silent conversation. Maverick didn’t want to lose Bradley either, and wanted him to know how serious this was.
“We have created a flight path just like the one for the mission. You will learn this path, you will think about this path even in your sleep.” You said as confidently as you could. “First pair will be Coyote as lead pilot, and Phoenix and Bob second.”
The three pilots nodded as they were dismissed by Maverick. Watching as they were escorted to where they needed to go.
Everyone else left the room to listen in on what was going on. Jake tried to remain in the room as long as he could, but when he saw that Bradley wasn’t moving he gave up, and headed towards the door. Bradley remained in his seat as you stood there, and waited until the room was empty.
Nothing was said between the two of you. Picking at the skin around your nails out of habit. While Bradley just watched you curiously like he wanted you to speak first. Both of you had so much to say, but didn’t know where to start.
“How are you?” Bradley asked as he stood up.
“As good as one can be.” Giving him a pathetic smile. “You?”
Not realizing that the two of you were each stepping towards the other closer and closer. Like some type of magnetic force was pulling you to him.
“As good as one can be.” Repeating your words making you smile.
“How you feeling after that little speech?” Crossing your arms across your chest as you two now stood practically in front of the other.
“Nervous as hell.” Answering honestly as he wiped the palms of his hands against his pants. “Do you think we can honestly pull this off?”
“Yeah I think with the right pilots we can.” Bradley actually valued your opinion on certain things.
“Who do you think should be leading this mission?” It was a question you were hoping to avoid with him.
“Bradley come on.” Scoffing as you turned away from him.
“No seriously I want to hear who you think should be leading this mission.” Softly grabbing your hand so you looked back at him.
“Honestly.” Taking a deep breath before you answered. “None of you.”
That answer seemed to shock Bradley as he didn’t say anything and just looked at your face. It was the honest truth, and quite frankly you didn’t want him leading the mission anyway. He meant too much for you to lose.
“None of you are really ready for this mission, and they need someone who can lead it successfully.” Shrugging your shoulders at him as you further explained.
“You’re right.” Finally speaking. “You’re totally right.”
“It’s not that I don’t think you can’t do it.”
“I know what you mean. It’s what you and Maverick have been telling me from the start.” Hearing him mention Mavericks name surprised given how he felt about him. “I can’t play it safe.”
“You’re a good pilot Bradley.” Placing a hand on his shoulder as he weakly smiled.
“So are you.” Taking your hand from his shoulder and holding it in his hand his thumb tenderly rubbing the skin back and forth.
Bradley’s gaze lingering on your face as you both smiled at each other with adoration. Neither one of you doing or saying anything, but just enjoying each others presence. It was like a roller coaster with you two. Constant ups and downs, and you didn’t know when it was going to end.
“We should probably be there with everyone else.” You spoke up as you dropped your hand from his.
“Yeah right.” He stuttered as you walked in front of him Bradley placing a soft touch on your back as he followed right behind you.
Once you got into the room everyone looked stressed and terrified. Some of them had their head in their hands, and others mouths open wide. You and Bradley looked at each other confused to what was going on. Whatever happened it wasn’t good.
“Where the hell have you guys been?” Payback exclaimed everyone turning towards you both. “You guys just missed it.”
“What happened?” Asking as you walked away from Bradley.
“Coyote went into G lock and Phoenix and Bob crashed.” It was like the air left your lungs and all you heard was crash.
“What?” Bradley shouted in disbelief.
You could hear muffled voices but you had no idea what they were saying. There was a ringing in your ear as you stood there like a deer caught in the headlights.
Staring at him wide eyed saying nothing your legs moved before your mouth could say anything. Running out of the room as quickly as you could before you burst into tears. Those same feelings and fear were coming back, and you couldn’t handle something like this happening to you again.
Running into an empty room as you sat down trying to catch your breath. Your breathing was shallow and erratic, and you felt that same anxiety before you had a panic attack. The room was getting smaller, and it was getting much harder to breathe. Like at any moment you could burst into tears.
Bradley quickly followed behind you hearing you as he ran down the hall, and quickly came into the room. The sight before him nearly broke his heart.
He took one look at you, and sat right next to you. An arm wrapped around you while he held your hands. Leaning your head against his shoulder as he tried to help control you. Whispering comforting things in your ear.
“It’s okay just breathe in through your nose, and out of your mouth.” His chin resting on top of your head. “Breathe with me baby.”
Trying to get you to follow his breathing patterns in a slow and easy pace. Hoping that his calm presence would help, and would make you feel better. He hated to see you like this, and wishes he could take all this pain you felt away from you.
“That’s it. Just breathe like that for me.” He whispered once he felt your breathing slowing down. “That’s a good girl.”
Closing your eyes as you suddenly felt exhausted. Pressing yourself deeper into Bradley’s body loving how warm and safe he felt. Bradley wasn’t going to let you go either. He wanted to hold you in his arms for as long as he could.
“Better?” He asked looking at your face.
“Yeah. Thank you.” Weakly smiling at him as you pressed your face into his shoulder. “It’s been so long since that’s happened.”
“I understand.”
The doors came bursting open as a worried Maverick came into the room. Looking at the way Bradley was holding you and seeing the expression you had on your face he knew what happened.
“Are they okay?” Bradley asked.
“There gonna keep them both in the hospital over night for observation. But there gonna be okay.” A sigh of relief left your lips hearing that news.
“That’s good.” He responded not moving an inch.
“It was a close one.” Mavericks voice cracking at the thought of how much worse it could’ve been.
“I’ve never lost a wingman.”
“You’re lucky. Fly long enough and it’ll happen. There will be others.”
“Easy for you to say.” Bradley letting go of you to stand up now. “No wife. No kids. Nobody to mourn you when you burn in.”
“Bradley.” Whispering for him to stop knowing this wasn’t the time or place.
“Go home.” Maverick responded not really in the mood to have this discussion. “Just get some sleep.”
“Why did you pull my papers at the academy?” Bradley asked Maverick before he could walk out the door. “Why did you stand in my way?”
“You weren’t ready.” Maverick kept his voice low and soft.
“Ready for what? To fly like you.” Bradley was raising his voice as he stood face to face with Maverick now.
“No ready to forget the books and trust your instincts. Don’t think just do. You think up there your dead. Believe me.”
“Well my dad believed in you.” Bradley said with such malice it even shocked you. “I’m not gonna make the same mistake.”
As the two of them stared at each other you could tell Maverick was affected by his words. Standing up this time as you wanted to say something, but it was between the two of them. They needed to be work this out themselves.
Before anything else could be spoke the door opened, and Admiral Solomon and Simpson were standing there with weird looks on their faces. Thinking they were there to lecture Maverick, but there focus was on you.
“Y/N.” Warlock waving you over both Maverick and Bradley watching you.
“What is it?” Asking when they shut the door behind you.
“Your fathers gone.”
