I really like and care about the topics of education, children's rights and pedagogy? Not academically so much as, personal interest. What seeing very clearly that there was a lot of arbitrary rules that involved things like. The Government. and Systems. as a child does to a motherfucker I guess? I'm always INTERESTED in a discussion about it, is how i mean I guess. Like focuses of multiple intelligence and "applied knowledge" (and short comings there of). I mean long and short of it. Kids are full human beings and until u can grapple with that their feelings and opinions um. Actually matter. I hate you? jdhbgjhdb. And Naturally the world being good for kids has the prerequisite of it not sucking ass for adults too....

UHhhh guh. User design/civil engineering? You'll hear it from me until the day I die, crushed under the tires of a ford f1 giga truck with the LED 20million watt bulbs. PROTECTED BIKE LANES. for the love of god. I just know a lot of designers I guess and like engineering, conceptually. But like, u know that famous bridge everyone crashes into. If theres 80million warning signs and people are still crashing... maybe theres. other factors. Or you know ofc like, traffic planning, vehicle accidents, structural disasters. A lot of them are not just. Things happening. Tragedies. There's politics there. Usually a lot of Money stuff. and structural racism. The real reason your fridge is full is that there's a bunch of half empty condiment jars hiding all your forgotten left overs. And widening the roads isnt gonna do shit for traffic.

Jackass entry: Themes and motifs of anyyytthing ive watched with another person or saw, and like they also know it. I realllly like, visual theming and narrative shorthands. Anything that breaks like, maybe people in this setting dont have the same customs, but their gonna do something so you the audience can recognize it. Non literal/accurate use of colour and lighting, for mood and clarity. Breaking the physical shape and scale of things so they can appear and be readable on screen. COSTUMING COSTUMING COSTUMING. A well styled character can do soooo much for your understanding of a work, especially with large casts, and a poorly styled one can take me right out. Well. anyway. yes i love animation u all knew that.

I'm having thoughts about Ashton and Fearne's relationship. Platonic or romantic I don't mind either, I just.

Fearne. Fearne who Morri taken a shine to. Fearne, she was collected, traded for a favor, given, kept, kept, kept, like a toy. A thing, a thing - yes her parents love her yes they'd give her the moon (hah!) but she's a precious thing to them, a six year old, a child but without any of the budding autonomy of one, talked about with the same fond possessiveness as a pet. All the language surounding her treats her as an object - it certainly sheds some light on how she views her relationships. She was loved, yes, but loved enough to be *worth* something when traded, loved enough to be hoarded by Morri.

Ashton, who was a Nobody and then nobody to the Nobodies, who left him for dead, who potentially even set him up??? (I've seen some mutterings about that). Ashton who was an unwanted orphan, a Greymoore, one body among the masses, nobody important to anyone (bar Milo and FCG). Ashton who is one man's trash, another man's treasure - broken but gilded.

And what do they do?

They steal from eachother.

"Fuck you, you're someone, because a thing can't have things and I want your things. You're a cunning foe in this game of ours, you're fun to play with, fuck you, you can't say steal from a toy. It's only fun taking things because they're owned by you," says Ashton.

Just venting a little. Again. I have no ill thoughts towards Laura Bailey. I ain't pulling a "Critical Role fandom hating Marisha Ray early on" here

I just can't help but feel Imogen is hogging the story. Yes I'm aware this happens sometimes in DnD.

I'm just so sick of hearing about the moon and Imogen's mom. I'm over here wondering what the fuck is up with Chetney, Ashton or FCG. But no. Imogen has to practically be the main character and she's horrendously boring.

If folks like her, cool. Ain't shaming ya'll. Ya'll be eating well.

That and I just can't be bothered with whatever she has with Laudna. But I'm just not into lesbian romance. I only watched the Beau / Yasha stuff because they were at least both comical in their own way. With Laudna and Imogen its like that bit in Hercules. "I got it. I got the concept". But I'm also aware that's just my own gay dude bias since I am not a lesbian.

With the moon plot you even have people thinking the bells hells campaign is gonna end because why bother with all the other characters stories apparently after Imogens. And I don't think thats very fair.

i just think there was something incredibly heartbreaking about imogen's clear indecision during and after her nightmare.

Like, of course, the entire- "it feels comforting, it offers a different means of escape" and Imogen immediately, stepping back, cursing, shouting "What is this?" at the sky, because there has to be an endgame there, right?

She recoils from these promises. She runs. And she pulls herself out of her dream, and she's struggling to pull her words together to explain it to Laudna and Laudna asks: "Did it give you a positive feeling in the dream? Or a negative one?"

And the way her voice broke, when she said "It felt wonderful."

"It felt comforting. It felt... different."

Because she's been having this nightmare for years. Years. She knows, to her core, she shouldn't approach the storm, she can't let it catch her or it will consume her whole. Anything that promises anything else, is selling something, is lying.

Unless. Unless.

The way she phrased it- "Maybe I should just give in." "Give in", because she knows that the storm can't be beaten, right? It was just a siren song of promises that couldn't be kept, and believing it would be a weakness, would be a mistake. Would be letting her desire to just stop having this fucking nightmare overcome her good sense.

But- fuck, what if? What if? What if?

(She must be exhausted, she must be upset. Imogen doesn't sleep well, this is known. Imogen is plagued by a barrage of thoughts, her own and everyone elses, during the day and nightmares of storms and terror and fear at night. Its ridiculous to think that this fucking glowing gem nestled at the core of a goopy creepy lady would have the answers.

But she must have been- so fucking tired. She must have been so tired, and this goddamn gem pops up and tells her she can do it, she can run into this storm, she can finally overcome this red that has bled into every other aspect of her life.

She must be so tired. Imagine being Imogen, holding a promise in your hand and a storm at your back. Imagine being promised some peaceful sleep. Some comfort.)

It must have been a lie. It had to be a lie. It has to be, because I can't imagine how badly Imogen wants it to be true.
