find it really interesting how the "butchfemme relationships are heteronormative" crowd are never seen advocating for more butch4butch relationships in media, its only ever said in defense of fem4fem ships... you'd almost think they just have an issue with lesbian masculinity

Chelldos 1
REMEMBERING MY ROOTS o7
when I started shipping it if I did: Like late late 2022 i think? Very late 2022 thats so fucking weird to think about
my thoughts: beautiful beautiful toxic yuri. This is my girlcrush who im obsessed with who has never ever ever spoken a word to me. The bad bitch i pulled by ignoring her. All robots and computers must shut the hell up. Good god how can portal be anything but a love story. The facility loves chell so so so so so much its insane
What makes me happy about them: they snuck a butchfemme love story into one of the best selling valve games of all time. And its so so so well written. Glados coming to terms with both her feelings and her humanity towards the end of the game and then choosing to let chell go...good lird
What makes me sad about them: everything. they make me emotional
things done in fanfic that annoys me/things I look for in fanfic: once again im nto very picky I also just dont read a lot of chelldos fic anymore tbh so i dotn really remember oops
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: nobody 🙏
My happily ever after for them: chell comes back to the facility and they live a happy domestic life
who is the big spoon/little spoon: Well uh. what do you call sleeping on top of your giant computer wife
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: i think chell just likes sitting in the main ai chamber with glados while she does whatever it is she does and they just enjoy eachothers company. I also think chell has been through testing enough times to be very proficient at designing test chambers so she designs a lot of chambers for the co op bots while theyre just #hanging out together

Interested in receiving our quarterly newsletter? Exclusive buttons and stickers delivered straight to your mailbox? Early access to zine downloads and merch drops?
Or, you just really care about seeing lesbian-run projects thrive and want to help us keep Beloved going?
We at Beloved Zine are so excited to announce that we now have a Patreon page!
Ever since our first issue (Love Letters) came into being, we have been dreaming up ways to expand this project and offer the ButchFemme community something tangible and real– pages you can touch, stickers and postcards and tote bags you can show off. We are so endlessly grateful to the ways that the community has shown up for us, giving us so much love and support.
In deciding to launch a Patreon dedicated to funding the expansion of Beloved, we had a couple things in mind. First, Beloved is currently fully 110% run out of a teeny tiny bedroom in Manhattan. Our first and major priority for the funds from our Patreon page is to pay rent for a physical studio space for Beloved. A physical studio space would mean order time could be cut down significantly, because the entire packing and shipping would no longer be operated out of Lottie's home, and we could invite volunteers to help pack orders rather than have Lottie put together every single order by themself.
Additionally, with a brick and mortar/physical studio location, we could offer real life community events for the NYC ButchFemme community. Part of expanding this project is creating these opportunities for community building with Butches, Studs, and Femmes in lesbian spaces. In the future, hopefully with your continued support, we will be able to expand Beloved into even greater heights with loftier goals, such as financially compensating staff + contributors, creating gallery spaces for ButchFemme art, among many other ideas!
With the launch of our Patreon, we wanted to emphasize the fact that so far, this has been an entirely volunteer run group. Every single person working at Beloved as an editor/director/assistant is in school and/or works full time. None of us on The Beloved Team have made a single cent off of this project.
That being said, it would be great if we could have enough money to keep Beloved going and eventually be able to compensate ourselves and our contributors for the labor of love behind our work!
On our Patreon, for $5 a month, you will get early access to our upcoming issues' themes, spreads, and artwork before anywhere else. You will also receive an exclusive Beloved sticker design every three months. We will be offering monthly stickers designed by our lovely Art Directors at the $10 tier, with an additional button pin delivered to you in the mail if you join the $20 tier. Our goal + priority is to be steady enough outside of seasonal releases that we can use the funds from Patreon combined with our sales income to lease a small studio space to operate out of full-time!
Independently run and reader-supported networks of publishing zines exist in the same historical continuum of lesbian communities of ButchFemmes. It would mean the world to us if you chose to become one of our Patrons and helped sustain this project!
You can learn more about our Patreon here! Thank you so much for your support either way. ♡
Much Love,
♡ The Beloved Team ♡

That post about “masculining yang” from a few months back Kinda sucks. Why is depicting a butchfemme relationship offensive? Yang was always fairly masc and her becoming more so later more just struck me as her getting development and a less objectified joke depiction. Let ppl see the butch in her.
i... never said it was offensive lmao?? its just that blake and yang arent a butchfemme relationship. both are pretty femme. and changing fanon yang to be more masucline is fine. but it was ONLY ever yang. yang always carries blake. yang wears the suit. yang protects blake. yang is always depicted doing the stereotypically more masculine things when in canon the only masculine things about her are her bike and being angry i guess. and the fact that she... wears trousers?
nothing about this is "wrong" or "offensive" either. it just bothers me that it was ONLY yang because she isn't as perfectly feminine and submissive and waifuish as blake, when right from the start she was presented as a flirty, confident girl who goes to clubs wearing low cut tops and booty shorts to accentuate her feminine features. if you wanna pull up art and fics of blake being the masculine one to try and prove my post that "kinda sucks" wrong, go ahead. im not trying to tell people how to enjoy a ship, i was just moaning that yang doesnt really get to be feminine anymore, when she was both in canon and at the beginning of the fandom.
if you don't want to hear that opinion i suggest not coming back to my blog again. because this is my blog. where i share my opinion. even if it kinda sucks.
