So, according to the Clone Wars movie novel Rex lost his entire company (pretty much just five of them walked away if I remember correctly) on Teth. His first massive loss. A hostile world, the gravesite of so many of his men, his brothers, and he chooses to go back there, to the same monastery where he lost so much, and make it his secret base.
Makes sense when you think about it. Who’d expect him to go back somewhere so painful?
Imagine the memories. That little shiny new Padawan he was just getting to know, his general putting the mission first, Obi-Wan saving the day. All that death. Ventress choking him, trying to Mind Trick him. How the hell does he get any sleep there?
Oh, and the operative dude? Kinda half expecting it to be Cody in there. The guy went AWOL and never turned up again. Could be winter soldier Tech, but the legs just aren’t skinny enough! I’m not one for speculation, but I just have this strange feeling given how resilient he is…

Okay, so Anakin’s smug expression in this scene is particularly funny to me, because I imagine he is making fun of both of them in his head.  Like, “gonna be fun to watch you babysit, old man.”  And then thinking about Ahsoka having his old master like, “sucks for you.”  His face is literally like “this should be good.”

And then he realizes that he is the new babysitter and is actually the butt of the joke he was just making in his head, and it is Obi Wan’s turn to crack a sly smile.

Hey um. Here's the thing. The Clone Wars movie but. Asajj is a Jedi Master. Don't ask me how or why. Quinlan Vos is Dooku's assasain/Sith apperantice. Asajj is on Christophsis with Obi-Wan and Anakin. Her new padawan is about to arrive. She (Ahsoka) arrives. Ahsoka says Yoda sent her to be Anakin's padawan. Asajj doesn't get it. Obi-Wan is smirking in the background. Anakin also doesn't like this. He says he doesn't need a Padawan. Said Padawan and Anakin go to take down the Separatist shield generator anyway. Asajj and Obi-Wan go to negotiate with the Separatist General. Anakin and Ahsoka take down the generator like they do in Canon. Asajj & Obi-Wan fight the Separatists. Ahsoka tells them they need to go find Jabba's son or however it happens. They go together, but Asajj is also there. Everything goes the same as it does in the movie (Quinlan filling Asajj's place) but Asajj and Anakin argue much more. Until the landing platform scene where Quinlan now is starting to cut through the door. They see the Twilight. Asajj tells Anakin and Ahsoka to run with Rotta the Hutt while she holds Quinlan back (yeah Quinlan has a homoerotic fight with Obi-Wan first). They (Ahsoka & Anakin) go to Tatooine. All that shit happens. Asajj, Anakin, and Ahsoka go before the council to figure out what happened with the Padawan mismatch. Asajj really doesn't like Anakin. She tells the council he isn't responsible enough to have a Padawan etc. Anakin agrees yet he already bonded with Ahsoka so he doesn't know what to think about it. Asajj is hellbent on having Ahsoka as her Padawan basically. The council asks them both to exit the room so they can ask Ahsoka privately. Ahsoka has no idea bc she bonded with both of them. The council decided to do something that has been rarely done in Jedi history and let her be the Padawan of them both. Because it's war and weird things are happening anyway. Asajj and Anakin have to deal with it. It's funny as fuck. Workplace comedy. Romantic comedy but not romantic. The Clone Wars is much better. They're all idiots. Boom. Just made TCW interesting for myself.

My kids and I were watching The Clone Wars movie today and my 8-year-old was sketching while she was watching. Later, she showed me what she was working on...just Rex and Ahsoka sitting together watching the sunset. 🌄🥺🥰

I thought it would be fun to write about one thing I enjoyed about every Star Wars movie. I generally like all of these movies (there are two that I don't like that much, but even they have some neat stuff in them worthy of praise). Just doing my part to share some positivity. :)

No matter how many times I watch the clone wars movie, I will never remember what happened in it. The only thing I can ever successfully remember is Ahsoka looking for the stinky ass hutt baby that’s hiding under a bench. And then her complaining to Anakin that he looks/smells sick.

The movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released fifteen years ago, and while it isn’t the best known or best loved of Star Wars movies, it is a unique piece that has its place in a galaxy far, far away and is an important contribution to the saga in many ways...
Perhaps the most important part of the movie is the introduction of Ahsoka Tano as Anakin Skywalker’s headstrong padawan. She would take a lead role in the series, becoming one of the franchise’s best-loved characters as viewers got to see her grow and mature throughout the show, leading to her having a key part in Star Wars Rebels, and now getting her own live-action show on Disney+, the only animated character to do so.

So it's the Clone Wars movie's birthday and so I decided to take some time and rewatch it because it's been a hot minute. I realized it is so hard watching this movie knowing what's going to happen during the war. Nobody has any clue that in the coming years Ahsoka is going to leave the order because she feels betrayed by everyone she thought she could trust. Nobody knows that Anakin is going to collapse to the darkside and commit horrible deeds. Obi-Wan doesn't know he's going to lose even more people he loves. Rex doesn't know about Fives, Echo, Hardcase, Jesse, and so many more. None of them have even the faintest idea about order 66 and how everyone around them is going to die and/or kill those they care about in the end. And nobody knows about the Empire that's looming just over the horizon...
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my favorite characters so happy, and dare I say carefree, but it just hurts me so much that they don't know what's coming :'(
