Being sick was, quite frankly, miserable. Especially when your toddler was also sick, you both were running a fever, and she insisted upon curling up against you. But your heart couldn't take the idea of making her lay in her own bed when she felt so miserable. Instead you coaxed her into sipping water and taking cough medicine between naps and weak attempts at meal times.

Yoongi was away on work, although he'd already wrapped up and was just taking a couple of days to relax. He worked hard, and usually you were glad for him to have a little break from all the stress he carried on his shoulders. However, you were also pretty sure that the past few days of being sick and being a parent at the same time without your partner was kicking your ass.

It was late morning once you finally calmed Mijung down enough to sleep, and you were out just as quickly afterwards, grateful for the medicine taking the edge of your fever. You managed a few hours more of sleep, your daughter luckily staying asleep as well. Her fever seemed to have broken by the looks of it. Yours, however, was still raging on. Exhaustion weighed heavy on you, spurred on by the overwhelming heat and the ache in your stomach. You hadn't been able to stomach much food over the past few days, nibbling on crackers and canned soups, occasionally managing enough energy to make a sandwich for you and Mijung to share.

You sat up, your entire body feeling as if molten lead was racing through your veins, scalding hot, and terribly heavy as you tried to move without waking up the sleeping child that had taken up the center of your bed. You sat at the edge of the bed for several moments before you managed to process the space around you through the haze that you'd been trying to adjust to for the past several days.

The mess in the room had been tidied up, clothes put in the hamper and the dishes that had piled up from your coaxing your daughter into eating were nowhere to be seen. You furrowed your sweat lined brows, trying to make sense of it. Maybe your mom had stopped by to check on you. But surely she would have left a note or woken you up. Then you were met with the wafting scent of stew, beef and vegetables and silky broth that you knew well. You pushed yourself to your feet, shivering as you wrapped yourself in a spare blanket and trudged into the kitchen.

"I thought you weren't supposed to be home for a while." You said. You winced at the sound of your voice scraping out of your throat, hoarse and weak, and causing you to cough into your elbow. Yoongi whirled around at the sound of you, looking worried and a little panicked. He put the lid back on the stew, taking a few quick steps towards you to press his hand to your forehead.

"You're still burning up. You should be in bed. Food isn't ready yet." He fussed. It was sweet seeing him like this. Yoongi was usually more aloof than this, keeping his affectionate words to a minimum and usually showing it in the little ways you'd learned to pick up on. Though he'd grown a bit softer on the surface over the past few years since you had Mijung.

"You cleaned up. I didn't know you were coming home." You sniffled and smiled a little, though it made your head pound a little harder. Yoongi pressed a kiss to your hairline before moving to get you a fresh glass of water. He pressed it into your hands.

"I didn't want to leave you alone when both of you are sick." He said, urging you to sip the water. You do, although you don't particularly want to, and it makes you aware of the taste of sickness in your mouth. You took another drink. "You both were sleeping so I figured you needed it."

You smiled, curling close to his chest despite the overwhelming heat it brought on. He stroked your cheek gently, making you drink a little more.

"Go back to bed. Food should be done in a little while. I can bring some in for you too. Has she been eating alright?" He asked, knowing full well that she got a little fussy when she was sick, refusing to listen to anyone (well, to you at least). You nodded.

"Yeah, she's been trying. Hasn't been keeping much down though. Mostly just toast, crackers. A little rice." You say. You want to argue and tell him that you'd rather stay with him while he cooked, but the heaviness in your body and the constant thudding of your heartbeat in your head made it hard to argue. He pressed a kiss to your lips before nudging you back towards your bedroom. You scowled.

"You're gonna get yourself sick. You gotta be careful, Yoon," You huffed, though you just wanted another kiss after feeling so miserable for so long. He rolled his eyes and kissed you again despite your protest, then one more time.

"I can handle a little cold."

You gave in, slipping out of his arms and carrying yourself back to bed. You laid yourself out on the bed, wrapping yourself in blankets in hopes that you could sweat out the last of the fever. Mijung snuggled into your side with a quiet whine that told you she still wasn't feeling much like herself.

Sleep took you easier now that you had Yoongi close, and when you woke up again, you were already feeling better. You shrugged the blankets off your shoulders and smiled at the sight of Yoongi carefully setting down a bowl for you on the stand next to the bed.

"Thank you." You mumbled, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. He kissed your forehead in response. But your words were enough to wake up the little girl sprawled next to you. She blinked a few times before her dark eyes found Yoongi. Her bottom lip poked out in a little pout.

"Appa," She huffed out. Yoongi was on her side of the bed in a heartbeat, scooping her into his arms where she wrapped her little arms around his neck. "Don't feel good,"

He smiled, stroking her hair and humming.

"I know, sweetheart. Come on, let's get some food in you. Appa's cooking makes everything better, right?" He teased, pinching her side lightly. She let out a groggy giggle, the first you'd heard out of her in days, and you knew then that everything was on the up and up.

Even if you would have to take care of Yoongi in a few days when he inevitably fell sick.

Eight months into your relationship, and you and Yoongi were taking one more step forward towards a future together. He’d asked you to move in with him one night over dinner at his place. At first you’d truly thought he was joking what with how casually he’d thrown the idea out there between bites of pork.

“I’m looking for a bigger apartment anyway, this one is too small,” He’d told you as you stared at him in shock at the prospect. “I know it’s soon and we said we didn’t want to move fast, but I’d like to share another part of my life with you,”

Needless to say you’d agreed, joining him in the process of finding an apartment to suit both of your needs. Being with Yoongi had felt right since the very beginning, everything falling into place piece by little piece, and even through the process of bickering and discussing every last detail of finding your new home, you never once found yourself wanting anything other than a lifetime with him.

It took a few weeks – which was still quicker than you’d expected – before Yoongi signed for the apartment you’d fallen in love with. It didn’t suit his needs perfectly, but he was more than happy to settle if it meant seeing you so entirely in love with your home every evening.

The packing was grueling, sorting through everything you owned and deciding what you could make room for, but the knowledge that you’d finally get to begin the life you daydreamed about having with him propelled you through it. The process of actually moving all of your things into the building was the difficult part.

Try as you might, you couldn’t convince your boyfriend to hire a moving service. He was a stubborn man, and sometimes you regretted falling in love with that trait. Why hire people, he’d argued, when he had six perfectly good bandmates eager to help out and get a look at your new apartment. And when you realized that the only price you’d have to pay was the bill for some food after the work was finished, you figured he made a decent enough point.

Once everything was moved into your apartment, your back ached, and you had all of your things stacked as tall as you were around the kitchen and living room (with the exception of one lamp which Namjoon had been apologizing for since midday).

Your gracious payment of various takeout orders were in front of where you all had sat down on the wooden floors, cardboard boxes used as makeshift tables. Conversation flowed easily, and you sat back, listening to the boys tease one another affectionately. The whole thing was surreal, your new home a mess of you and your lover, your closest friends occupying the open space and filling it with laughter and joy. It was heavenly finally being able to pin down the idea of coming home. A house hadn’t felt this warm in a long time.

Yoongi’s arm tightened every so slightly where it had settled around your shoulders, drawing your attention to him for a moment. You smiled the moment your eyes landed on him. Not that that was anything new. He leaned close enough to speak quietly but still be heard over the animated discussion that Jin and Jungkook were having.

“What are you thinking?” He asked you. “Having second thoughts?”

You scoffed at the absurdity of his statement. Second thoughts? There were many, many… many things that you’d regretted throughout your life. Actually, you might have had more second thoughts than first ones, but this was on the short list of things you’d definitely not be second guessing.

“No, absolutely not. I’m just thinking about how happy I am to get to live with you,” You answered, pressing your lips to his in a chaste kiss. In such close proximity, you could watch the pink spread across his face. “What about you? Having any regrets about moving in with me yet?”

Yoongi pretended to think about it.

“Ask me again in about 12 hours.”

It wasn’t a terribly long time before the rest of the boys decided that it was time to wrap it up. They said their goodbyes, claiming that they were exhausted from helping you two move, but you had a feeling it had something to do with Seokjin whispering to Namjoon about giving you two some ‘privacy’. Not that you were complaining of course, you loved your boys but sometimes you needed a bit of peace and quiet instead.

With your home empty save for you and Yoongi, you sank back down onto the floor. Yoongi stood over you, an amused glint in his eye.

“We have to put the bed frame together before you can crash on me. I’m not doing that one alone.” He said, holding his hands out to help you up. You groaned, reaching to let him drag you to your feet, then giggling at the way he barely tried to lift your dead weight.

“Or - and just hear me out - we could just put the mattress on the floor and worry about all the rest come morning.” You suggested. Yoongi gave you a skeptical look and you beamed up at him. He pulled you up, this time with some help on your end. “Come on, it’s practically a right of passage. You move into a new place, you have to sleep on the floor!”

He smiled as he followed you towards your shared bedroom.

“You’re making that up.”

“So what if I am? You’re not going to look me in the eye and tell me that going straight to sleep sounds like a bad idea, are you?”

He watched you collapse onto your unmade mattress settled in the center of the room.

“Come on, at least let me put the sheets on it.” He released an exasperated sigh at your antics, but it was clear to see that there was nothing but adoration behind the grumpy face he put on. You drove him out of his mind, but he loved you a whole lot anyway. There was something entirely different about you. You were just carefree enough to make him feel alive, crazy enough to make his heart rate spike every now and then, and logical enough to bring him down when anxiety got the best of him.

“No time to look for them. Come sleep. And bring blankets.” You told him, stretching to grab your pillows from where they’d been thrown nearby. Yoongi smiled.

You both were still wearing your clothes, and probably would regret climbing into bed with no shower. Your bed was bare, your phones unplugged, all of your stress out of sight, out of mind. Nothing mattered for the time being. If he tried, Yoongi could think up a hundred and one things to worry about, but none of it mattered when you were already dozing off without him.

Yeah, he could put it all to the back of his mind. The world and its worries could wait a while longer.

Being in a serious, committed relationship with Yoongi was a fairly new development for the two of you. From the beginning of your friendship, things had moved at a leisurely pace; Growing and developing without any pressure. Nothing was rushed or forced, always entirely authentic, and that was exactly how you both liked it.

As such, the first night that you stayed over at his apartment wasn’t planned out or scheduled. It was just another movie night, one of the days that he squeezed into his busy work schedule and protected with all his might to ensure that you never felt neglected. It was late, his arm wrapped around your waist to tuck you tight into his side in a rare show of clinginess. You, of course, ate it up when he was like this.

You were two and a half movies in, snuggled under a blanket and absorbing whatever body heat that Yoongi offered up in his snuggles. It had to be nearing midnight, but without a clock in sight and your phone discarded just out of reach, you couldn’t be sure. Yoongi’s fingers brushed against your warm skin where your shirt had ridden up, and it was lulling you dangerously into a warm, cozy state of drowsiness.

You groaned quietly, sitting up and stretching your arms over your head. Your boyfriend grumbled as his arm fell from around you, and turned his attention to you instead of the movie the two of you had been watching.

“It’s getting late, I should get home.” You told him, voice carrying a croaky tone to it after not being properly used in a while. Yoongi’s pouty frown deepened at your words.

“Stay,” You laughed, reaching out to brush your fingertips over his jaw, then up to brush a long lock of hair from his forehead.

“If I stay, I’ll fall asleep here.” You argued, but that didn’t seem to deter him and, if you were being honest, the thought of waking up to his sleeping face was rather persuasive.

“Then sleep here.” He tried again to convince you, this time leaning over to litter your neck and shoulders with kisses.

“But I need to shower.”

“You can use my shower,”

“Yoon, I didn’t even bring a change of clothes.” You were giggling now at the sleepy way he held onto you, debating every point you made about why you should be gathering your things and migrating to your car. If there was one thing you knew about Min Yoongi, it was that he was impossibly stubborn once he had his mind set on something.

“I have clothes. You can borrow something of mine to sleep in.” He grasped your chin lightly, guiding your lips to press against his in a soft kiss. Once his lips parted from yours he smiled, leaning back for a few more quick pecks. “Please. I want you to stay.”

“Alright alright, you win. I can’t say no when you pout like that.” You said, tapping his bottom lip with your index finger. You tipped his chin up, kissing him once more and feeling the way his lips curved into a victorious smile against yours. “Can I go shower now? I’m tired.”

“Yeah, come on.” Yoongi stood up, reaching his hands down for yours and pulling you off the couch with him. Then he led the way to his bathroom, showing you where everything was that you could possibly need, and showing you how the dials worked on his shower - including the way you had to wiggle the lever for the drain to keep it from plugging.

“I’ll put clothes on the bed for you,” He kissed the side of your head before leaving you to shower in peace. You tied your hair up and started the water. You let the stress of the day wash away under the warm spray, and toweled yourself off with the fluffy towel from Yoongi’s cupboard. When you slipped out of the bathroom with your towel wrapped around you, you expected to find him in his room. When you didn’t, you made quick work of pulling on the black t-shirt he’d left out and a pair of his sweatpants, padding back out into the living room in search of him.

You found him still sprawled on the couch, his nose in his phone. You walked quietly closer, carefully climbing on top of him and stretching out to lay your body full length of his so that neither of you were at risk of falling off the edge. You could see the smile on his lips that he tried to hide as you situated yourself. He didn’t speak, just moved his arms so you could lay your head on his chest, listening to the steady thrum of his heartbeat in time with his breathing. He didn’t even flinch when the damp ends of your hair got his skin wet, just rubbed your back and pressed a kiss to your head before going back to whatever he’d been looking at on his phone.

You were almost entirely asleep when Yoongi put his phone up, moving instead to play with your hair, brushing his fingers through the locks as best he could with it tied back, and massaging your scalp. He chuckled as you nuzzled your cheek against his chest, the sound rumbling out of him gently and making a sleepy smile grow on your face.

“Thank you.” He said, so quietly that it was almost impossible to pick out from the thoughts running through your mind as you drifted just above the plane of sleep. You hummed softly, and he seemed to understand what you were trying to communicate since he elaborated as your eyes fluttered open to look at him. “For staying with me, I mean. I’m glad you’re here.”

You hummed again, and once again he seemed to understand as his arm tightened around you. You were happy you were there too, closing your eyes again and letting yourself fall asleep properly now. And even though he knew that this would end with a crick in his neck, Yoongi closed his eyes too. A little pain in the morning was better than forcing you to wake up and move to his bed.

Yeah, he could live with that if it meant he got to see you look so peaceful in his arms.
