- apparently this was rude and snobbish because Lana was also nominated for AOTY and poor Lana had to have the loss shoved in her face even though:

She was featured on the midnights album and its traditional for the artist to bring all the collaborators on stage when they win AOTY.

If Taylor didn’t bring Lana on stage with her people would’ve thought Taylor was “snubbing” her.

It’s up to Lana to be an adult about the whole thing and not a sore loser. You didn’t win an award, your friend did, you were on the album for which she won an award. Suck it up and stand there with a smile on your face.

2. She was rude and ignored Celine Dion.

- except she wasn’t she actually did thank Celine Dion twice we just didn’t see it from the original angle.

- also she took plenty of pics with Celine backstage.

3. It was rude to announce her album at the Grammys.

- actually she’s not suing him her legal team sent a cease and desist letter which means “you better stop talking or further legal action will be taken.”

- it would be one thing if Jack was just posting about her jets carbon emissions but he posts when and where her jet is down to the hour.

- Taylor has stalkers, people who’ve shown up to her houses armed. People try to say this is all public information but she actually pays for the location of her jet to be private. Someone like Jack really has to dig to find its location. So to post the locations/times like that is not only dangerous but to be honest really creepy.

- when Taylor tried to go to her friend jacks wedding fans were lined up outside for almost a mile. It’s because of websites like jacks that people even knew where she was.

- paparazzi is completely legal yet people still find what they do disgusting and despicable. Just think if Jack had a camera and followed Taylor around to then post the time and location people would feel way differently about it…

- also Jack is a hypocrite who claims he cares about the environment when in reality he took the first chance he could to ride Mark Cubans’ private jet.

I like how many people are criticizing her for dragging Lana to the stage and not acknowledging Celine Dion properly. Whether Taylor was just high from excitement of winning, it was rude. When Dream is announced as winners, you jump up and pull the nearest Dreamy, which just so happens to Chenle, into a hug.

"I guess it's my turn to congratulate you now, you did so well Chenle," you tell him as the two of you head up. He can't help but laugh happily as Mark accepts the award on your behalf. You could tell all of the boys were a little emotional, weather or not they showed it or not, but this accepting this award was the personification of your years of hard work and struggle.

Jaemin gives the Korean meant and as Chenle finishes his Chinese ment, both you and Mark have to give the English one. With 127 you could stay quiet while accepting awards, but with your leadership position within Dream you were expected to speak. Mark makes sure to hand to trophy to you, so you could hold it and feel the weight of it in your hands.

"First of all, thank you so much to the fans who have supported us these past 5 years. All of us are so grateful that you love watching and listening to us just as much as we love promoting and creating music together. This album means so much to us, it's our first full length album and our first album as a fixed unit and as 8Dream, so thank you for joining us in this new era of Dream. I would also like to just take a moment to appreciate my boys behind me. I've watched them work so hard for over 5 years now so, being up here in front of you all, with Dream receiving such a big award makes me so proud to be part of this team. Soon after, you have your performances with Dream and 127 back to back with each other. Suffice to say, you killed it.

The hosts go back and forth for a bit, building the anticipation. Winning a Daesang would achieve a life long dream for your entire group, but you suppose that goal had been pushed aside for a while as we all focused on the present. Besides, it was hard to beat BTS, their well earned global success-

"NCT 127, congratulations!"

You think your heart skips a beat as the confetti goes off and you turn to look at Mark, who does the same, eyes wide in surprise. The two of you stand together and he has a look of shock on his face. You don't think you've ever seen him this surprised. He doesn't say anything as he pulls you into a hug, lifting you up off your feet as his arms wrap around you. Mark was undoubtedly your best friend, this award was yet another thing you'd receive together. You pull back once you notice the others begin going on stage and pull Mark along. Taeyong accepts the award, bowing a full 90 degrees. Doyoung had already begin crying and some of the others looked right about ready too.

As you stand on stage, looking down at Dream clapping for you, and out into the crowd where the fans cheer, the reality sets in. You had just won your first grand Daesang. Winning a Daesang had been everyone's dream once we debuted, but as the years had gone by you couldn't help but feel that dream had been put on the back burner. You felt a sense of guilt, every time you went to an awards ceremony and watched another group win, that your precious members never would because of you. You were the oddity, the thing people didn't like, you were the reason NCT would fail. Yet, here you stand, receiving one of the greatest awards possible. You had proven everyone wrong.

Tears prick your eyes as a hand covers your mouth, but your eyes stay trained of the crowd. It must be your eyes playing tricks on you, or perhaps you wish it so much that you've convinced yourself they're there, but you swear you can see James and Teddy sitting out in the crowd clapping. They have smiles on their faces, smiles you haven't seen in so long. Amidst the chaos, they are calm. They had once promised to celebrate with you whenever you won an award like this, and you couldn't help but regret the fact they couldn't be here. You feel a weight lift off your shoulders but within a blink, they are gone again. It was enough, though, to let you know they were here tonight. That they were always with you, that you didn't need to regret taking so long to win.

After Taeyong's speech, Doyoung gives one at the behest of the hosts when they notice his tears. Johnny goes after, shouting an enthusiastic "mama, we made it," taking special care to thank everyone's parents. You can't help but tear up at the mention, knowing that you'd never be able to share your achievements with them. You had accepted it long ago, but it still hurt. Mark carefully places his hand in yours as if reminding you he's there. He's always been there. If you could count of anyone, it would be Mark.

After Johnny's speech, you all head backstage where we all take a collective breath as you're all still in awe and shock.

"Thank you for doing this with me," you whisper quietly to Mark as you sit beside him.

"Do what?" he asks as he drinks some water and throws an arm around your shoulders.

"I don't know, all of it, everything. I haven't done anything without you since I was 16, professional or personal, even when things felt impossible you were there and we worked through it together," you hum to which he smiles.

"I don't think I deserve all the credit, Lily, you've been there for me just as much. I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else. As cringey as it sounds, I never went into this expecting to find my best friend, but I did, so I suppose I owe you some thanks as well," he chuckles as you rest your head on his shoulder.

"We've still got so much to do, so let's stay healthy and keep doing it together, okay?" Mark says.

"Ok," you smile.

"You still owe me $5, Doyoung cried," Mark chuckles and just as you're about to admit defeat, a teary Jungwoo passes.

"Damn, truce?"

"Truce."

"Mark, can I speak with Lily for a moment?" Taeyong asks. Mark nods and goes off to join Haechan while your leader sits beside you and places the trophy in your hands. He takes a moment before speaking, as if trying to gather the right words.

"It has been my absolute greatest privilege to watch you grow up into such an extraordinary young woman, Lily. I know it was especially hard for you in the beginning and you unfairly took on the brunt of our early failures, but I feel so proud when I look at you now and think back to the shy girl I met 6 years ago. Even thinking back to three years ago, at this exact same awards you cried so much you fell asleep in the middle of the ceremony. The songs you wrote won us our first album of the year, tonight it won you Dream's album of the year award, and you have played such a major part in us winning our first grand Daesang. Winning this award tonight proves we can do anything, that you make us a stronger team, so I hope you never believe you're bringing us down again. I know you used to doubt your position in our team but I hope that you know that you are NCT, and NCT wouldn't be NCT without you," Taeyong tells you softly as you lean into him.

"Your parents would be so proud of you, James and Teddy too," Taeyong says as he pulls you into a hug. Taeyong, who as leader always felt a specific responsibility over you like he didn't with the others, who invited you to his home over breaks so you wouldn't be alone, who always made sure to pull you aside and make sure you were comfortable with whatever concept we had, who defended you from day one, who everyone noticed always kept an eye on you when in public situations, the Taeyong who promised you'd never be alone and meant it. What could you even say to the man who did it all for you?

"I love you, oppa, I'm so happy we did this together," you sniffle against him, your personification of home.

"I'm proud of you too, you led us all here and we couldn't have done it without you," you tell him. When James and Teddy died you had accepted the fact that you didn't have a family, but slowly, ever so slowly, being with your members gave you that feeling back. What you thought you lost forever was right under your nose all along.

"I know, I love you too," he hums.

"Ayo group hug!" someone yells. You can't help but laugh as one by one, your members join in on the hug and jump around like excited children.

I’m sorry... I find this quite laughable but at the same time I find this a bit exploitative. It’s one thing to make a replica of the BBMA awards but then there is this, they just made like pins and patches that say “BTSxAMAs” I tried looking all around the website to see if they even get a cut of everything but I couldn't find much. I hope they do but you know that the ABC is going to make more money from them with this. It’s like the American market is trying to bank off of everything. MAMA didn’t make special merch when they won AOTY.

Another thing that I’m thinking as to why they did this is because the tickets were already almost sold out prior to the performing line up being announced and the fact that you don't really get invited to perform, the artist actually rent their time on stage.  So this is the only way for them to make money back, and maybe at the same time take a gauge at where their fans are mainly coming from since the website did say that they will ship internationally.

ABC is literally treating this like its the first time a foreign... or even a Korean artist performed too. There have been people from Europe, South America, Canada, etc.. that performed at the AMA’s and are they forgetting that Psy performed, he even performed along side MC Hammer.... I was just thinking about this too. No one did any of this when BigBang won at the EMA’s, being the first ever Korean artist to walk on a stage that wasn't in Asia and win an award. 

Going along with that, after BigBang won you didn't see the artist that were there feel the need to take pictures or create a “friendship” with them, or media exploiting them to profit from their name.

In one of the recent interviews with Forbes Rap Mon basically said that they dont really have much of a fan base in America, which is true. Then he went on to say that he hopes all of this is not just a happy accident, which says a lot... also, did he turn into Rob Ross for a moment. I also think that just as a whole bts isn't really prepared for any of this, I’m not talking about their “fame” or “attention” either. They are just to vulnerable for American media, just look at everyone taking advantage of them. At this point I cant tell if they know they are being taken advantage of or they think that this is normal here. Which is kind of sad.

A Comprehensive List of the Symbolism and Details in “Look What You Made Me Do”

I’m including everything, from the obvious to the minor details and symbols that at this point are only speculation, to big and small things that made the video amazing. Here we go.

The video, of course, opens with an aerial pan of a graveyard. The specific site that Taylor is buried at, supposedly, the graves spell out “TS”.

“Here Lies Taylor Swift’s Reputation”

Other names on the surrounding gravestones include “Nils Sjoberg”, the pseudonym she used when she wrote “This is What You Came For”, and Joseph Kahn, the director of LWYMMD as well as Blank Space and Bad Blood

Zombie Taylor is wearing the same dress Taylor wore in the “Out of the Woods” music video, which was the final true music video released from 1989 (the New Romantics video was all tour footage). People have taken this to mean either she never truly made it out of the woods or one of the many allusions to the death of her old self.

All the gravestones are tilted during the “tilted stage” line

The outfit that Taylor is wearing when she is being buried into the ground is from the 2014 Met Gala, which was the last public event Taylor attended before the 1989 era began.

While a lot of the public has speculated that Taylor bathing in a tub of diamonds is a jab at KKW’s robbery, a lot of fans see the comparisons to a performance of Blank Space at the Grammy Museum, and I can’t remember the exact quote, but it’s about what people see her as.

There’s also a single dollar bill in the tub, referencing the symbolic $1 she won in her recent assault case.

People think her makeup in this scene is also really similar to how her makeup looked in the Blank Space video, which was another song in which she portrayed a character that the media believed her to be, even though it wasn’t true.

The camera looks like it’s out of focus for a second, but if you look closely, Taylor is clapping along to the beat of the song in the mirror.

When Taylor fires her finger gun, a real spark shoots out of her fingers as if she’s shooting a real gun.

She wears a ton of snake jewelry, and tons of snakes slither up to her throne, a direct reference to post-KKW drama where everyone left snake emojis on all her Instagram posts.

On a couple of the columns as well as the gold skull she rests her hand on, there is an engraving of “Et tu, Brute?” which is a quote from a Shakespeare play. In the scene, Caesar is being stabbed to death, betrayed by his friend, Brutus.

One of the snakes serves Taylor tea (serving or spilling tea is now slang for spilling dirt on someone, or exposing something bad about them).

The entire crashing a car followed by a paparazzi swarm of her posing, to me, is just a general analogy of causing drama to get attention

BUT some fans have noticed that the car she drives is a Maserati, and have made comparisons to the “driving a new Maserati down a dead end street” line from Red. In addition, in the next scene, she’s holding a Grammy, alluding to when Random Access Memories beat Red for AOTY, but the announcer drew out the “rrr” sound making her and her team thinking for a split second she won. I’m sure there’s video online of her reaction.

One more thing about this scene: She’s sporting a haircut very similar to the one Katy Perry has. Katy has never won a Grammy.

(Also the leopard in the passenger seat has a 13 necklace)

People have made the obvious metaphoric comparisons to her in an orange outfit in a cage to being a prisoner. This is further emphasized by the armed guards that surround the cage. People also consider being caged a metaphor for being in a zoo and locked up and watched like an animal.

There’s a rat on her plate during the “feast”. People have made jokes about this being symbolic of Calvin Harris. I’m not sure why.

Taylor & co. infiltrate a safe wearing cat masks, giving some fans hope that she has not shed everything about her formal self.

Her sweater also reads “Blind for Love”, making comparisons to her long-standing reputation as a serial dater.

People believe Taylor and a crew of girls riding motor cycles is an allusion to the Bad Blood music video.

When Taylor burns the stack of money, and when she comes in with a baseball back, the banner in the background reads “stream.co”, a direct allusion to her letter to Apple Music and pulling her catalog from the Spotify music streaming surface, leading people to believe she did this to make more of a profit and that she’s money hungry. 

The next scene is the media portrayal of her squad. She is an evil dictator who recruits beautiful, plastic models for her cult. You can see the banner flashes “Squad U”, pictures, of cats, and Taylor’s lucky number 13.

Everyone also wears black leather, which people think is another allusion to Bad Blood.

And people think all of the bodies piled next to each other might be a reference to Kanye’s “Famous” video.

All of the men at Taylor’s beck and call is another reference to her being called a diva and “kidnapping men and holding them hostage in her house”, which is another paraphrased quote from the Grammy Museum performances.

The African-American back-up dancer who hold the pen during this scene is actually Todrick Hall, one of Taylor’s real life friends.

Taylor sawing the wings of the plane is believed to be a metaphor for her taking back the narrative.

All the male backup dancers are wearing “I <3 TS” crop tops, which her ex Tom Hiddleston was seen wearing while they were together.

There are also 8 backup dancers, and Taylor reportedly has 8 famous ex-boyfriends.

And now for everyone’s favorite part of the video: Taylor stands in front of a neon letter T in a jumpsuit that reads “rep”, short for reputation. This is the new Taylor, and she is standing on top of a mountain of people who are trying to save themselves from some kind of doom. But these people are actually older versions of Taylor from through the years. Some major ones include the ballerina outfit from Shake It Off, the ringleader outfit from WANEGBT on the Red tour, her nerdy Junior Jewels shirt from the YBWM video, and the sparkly dress, guitar, and 13 on her hand from the Fearless tour. Other ones that are not as visible are the iHeartRadio Awards, the 2015 VMAs, a polka dot shirt from WANEGBT, her 22/Everything Has Changed outfit from the Red tour, her Style outfit from the 1989 tour, WANEGBT pajamas, and several other looks from music videos and appearances she’s made over the years

Taylor’s Junior Jewels shirt has the names of her real life friends written on it, including Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Todrick Hall, Alana, Danielle, & Este Haim, Lena Dunham, etc.

When Reputation Taylor kicks YBWM Taylor in the face, the shoes she is wearing are very similar to the ones she wore in her most recent Vogue cover, which was one of her first interviews post-1989 era.

Then Taylor blasts her former selves off the mountain and they fall to their death. This is what I think is the general theme going into the Reputation era. In order to save herself, Taylor has to kill off her older selves and become someone new, someone the media already thinks she is, in order to keep any respect. Even before, when the song first came out, many people considered the message of the song very similar to Blank Space. Taylor is playing a character, someone who she most certainly is not but the media certainly believes her to be. She’s taking on this persona as a tongue-in-cheek clapback to how the media portrays her. And as she said with Blank Space, “If you don’t get the joke you don’t deserve to get the joke” (again I’m paraphrasing).

Towards the end of the song, the Maserati explodes and kills the paparazzi, but Taylor walks away unscathed.

She spray paints “reputation” onto the plane with no wings, more analogies to her taking back control of her own narrative.

When the songs ends, one of the backup dancers grabs her butt, which people think is another reference to her assault case.

And now the other fan favorite part: 15 different versions of Taylor stand in front of the plane and argue. iTunes lists 15 total tracks for reputation.

Shake It Off Taylor falls onto the floor in the same way she did at the end of the video. KKW Taylor is shaking her ass.

YBWM Taylor pulls a surprised face, and both Zombie and SIO Taylor call her annoying and that “she can’t be that surprised all the time”. People have been making fun of her since the very beginning for constantly being surprised whenever she wins awards.

Zombie Taylor gets very angry when Reputation Taylor calls her a bitch, which a lot of people think is another reference to “Famous”. After KKW leaked footage of Taylor approving some of the lyrics, Taylor defended herself by saying she never approved the “I made that bitch famous” line

Fearless Taylor simply says “y’all”, a reference to her country roots, and Red Taylor accuses her of being too nice and very fake. Another criticism she’s faced over the years,

Fearless Taylor starts to cry at this, and another Reputation Taylor rolls her eyes at her “playing the victim”. We all know this is something Taylor’s been called a lot over the years, but especially more recently after the Katy/KKW feuds.

Another new version of Taylor simply holds a snake and hisses at everyone, again referencing everyone calling her a snake after the KKW incident.

Met Gala Taylor observes another new Taylor in surprise. Since MG Taylor is pre-1989, some people think her attitude is more innocent and pure here, how she was before the 1989 era began and her reputation began to falter

This new Taylor is “getting receipts” of Fearless Taylor and is “going to edit this later”, direct references to Katy, Swish Swish, and KKW on Snapchat.

We round this out with one more Taylor--VMA Taylor, complete with silver dress, Moonman, and mic, exactly how she appears in the infamous photo of her and Kanye in 2009. She says she “would like to be excluded from this narrative”, a direct quote from Taylor’s statement after KKW’s snapchat leak.

Finally, one more detail that fans have picked up on is the last frame, in which all the Taylors are in the shot and yell at VMA Taylor to shut up. However, the 15th Taylor stands on the plane wing and doesn’t seem to be participating. People believe this is another symbol of how the reputation era is going to go, and Taylor’s mental state at this point. On the wing, she is alone, separated from everyone else, separated from all of her older selves. As she says in the song, “I don’t trust nobody and nobody trusts me.” After everything that’s happened, she can only rely on herself. She is the only one who is going to have any say from here on out. She destroyed the wings so no one else could fly it for her, but she’ll be damned if she flies that plane on anything but her own terms.

This bitch did not miss a single thing and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best video of her career so far. I love her so much, and I’ve never been more proud. Brava, @taylorswift. Brava.

Laurence Crow and the Imaginary Band - Interview

The first time I was exposed to the insanity of Laurence Crow was through a video a friend posted online, in the video you could see Crow being carried through the streets of Canterbury on the shoulders of his fans whilst he recited his songs. It wasn’t until a few years later that I got to meet this man that everyone seemed to be talking about at the time. It was at his EP release show on a murky day in Dover, he was at the time performing under the moniker Wolfe Sunday. I was to support him at this show with a very ill prepared set in an ‘as acoustic as you can get’ setting, with no microphones and no stage just a floor shared with those that came to listen. This seemed a strange concept to me at the time, however, once he began to play, I quickly realised why this set up was so perfectly made for him. One full set later he was dancing on a table, blasting the words to Gogol Bordello’s ‘Start Wearing Purple’. This night was the beginning of a symbiotic relationship between the two of us through music and art, and so when he announced to the world that Wolfe Sunday was no more and that he was now transitioning into Laurence Crow and the Imaginary Band, my first reaction was “what the fuck” I caught up with Laurence to discuss the name change, his upcoming tour with Brandon Neal and his undying love for Gogol Bordello.

 Hand Crown: So, Laurence, I feel as though this opening question is painfully obvious, and I’m sure you have had to answer it more times that you care for, but why the name change?

Laurence: So over the last year or so I've been touring with some amazing acts that have had a really big influence in myself and my writing. The songs I've been working in recently have had much more depth to them than anything inside for Wolfe, and as a collective, myself and my team thought it would be a good idea to rebrand with the new music. I've got a new live show set up which has been going down really well over the last few shows, too. I'm really excited to show you all what I've been working on.

Hand Crown: Now that formality is out the way, let’s talk about tour. Lay it out for me; where? When? Who?

Laurence: So I'm basically trying to hit as many towns and cities that I've not had a chance to reach yet. So I'm playing my first Welsh shows on this tour, in Newport and Cardiff. We're also hitting up Portsmouth for the first time, as well as some of the places people keep asking for me to hit up, like Mansfield. I'm heading out on the road with my great friend and musical inspiration, Brandon Neal, who is putting out his debut album, so this really is a big tour for both of us.

Hand Crown:  What is it about these shows that will make me want to come and listen instead of sitting in bed and eating shite?

Laurence: So if you've seen one of our live shows before, you'll know that both Brandon and myself are very energetic. Brandon's show is too fun to watch (and I'm so psyched to see it every night the entire tour). I've also been working on a live show that really gets the party going, and it's gone down so well on the last few preview shows of the new music. Without giving anything away, the set ends with someone in the audience playing guitar, someone in the audience with the microphone, and myself on the bar. Come to a show.

Hand Crown: In terms of the way you perform (very inclusively, extrinsic and involved) what was it that initially drew you towards this way of performing, as opposed to say, standing behind a microphone, away from the crowd?

Laurence: When I first started performing, at open mics, and local bars, I was very intrinsic, and very scared. I found that my way of getting over stage fright, was to really start talking to the audience, and get them involved. It became such a staple of the set that it made sense to make that the selling point.

Hand Crown: Now I know you have a profound love for Gogol Bordello, what is it about his music that inspires you and are there any more artists you’d recommend to someone getting into the genre?

Laurence: Oh man, Gogol Bordello are my jam. I love the incredible theatrics that they put into their live shows. They manage to fuse so much into their music too, their own cultural history, their politics, it's the perfect blend to make great acoustic punk. That's something I could only hope to do.

If you're looking for unsigned acts that have a similar sound, there are so many cool people making amazing music. Brandon Neal is about to drop probably my AOTY, and then guys like Harrison Rimmer, Aidan Dale and Lewis Mckale are KILLING it with upbeat and fun acoustic punk. On a bigger level, I've been listening to a lot of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes, they've been a big inspiration to the new route my music has taken, and they are 100% worth checking out.

Hand Crown: Will this tour be in support of an EP release in the near future at all? Can we expect to hear LC+TIB on tape or is it exclusively live performance?

Laurence: So I'm actually going into the studio in the gap between the first few dates and the tour with Brandon. I'm spending an extended period of time holed away in a studio near Guildford, with just myself, a producer and a load of instruments, and were going to see what happens. We've got some pretty exciting plans regarding release too. We don't want to do anything conventional.
