I'm glad people are enjoying Just Some Guy, because again, I am having a blast writing it. I also love that people appreciate John Johnson being here, so for today's Six Sentence Sunday, have Six Moments Of John Johnson The Metaphysical Goalie (Johnson: Am I even a metaphysical goalie in this universe, since I do not play hockey???):

Lunchtime thoughts: speaking of samwell goalies aside from chowder, the more hockey i watch the more i truly begin to appreciate the brilliance of john johnson the metaphysical goalie. The joke was funny even before i cared about ice with sticks. But NOW? I can see even more of the genius. Ngozi is amazing.

Tango didn't know the man who walked into his family's restaurant would be different from the others who'd come in. "You're a Wellie?" Okay, he's different. or: John Johnson and Tango meet, John says something stupid to Ollie and Wicky, Tango agrees to go along with it, and Ollie and Wicky know they're full of shit, but still root for them.

They met in the small town Tango grew up in, in the family restaurant Tango had been working in since he was, like, five years old.

Okay, not really since he was five, but he’d just been watching from a booth as his family ran around taking orders and all, so he basically was!

Either way, a man a few years older than Tango came in, while he was cleaning up a table, and he heard his uncle shout for him, telling him there’s someone to be seated.

And the restaurant is really casual, alright? As in, Tony is wearing his Samwell Men’s Hockey sweater, because it’s raining out, and he’s cold, and his uncle rolled his eyes and let him.

And people had been commenting on his sweater all day, so when he went to go seat the guy at the front, he wasn’t surprised by the-

Oh, okay, that look was definitely different.

“You’re a Wellie?” The man asked, and Tango blinked.

“Uh, yeah. I got one more year left.” He said, and the man grinned.

“’Swawesome.” He said, “John Johnson, I was-”

“The goalie before Chowder! Yeah, yeah, they all mentioned you!” Tango said, lighting up.

He got to meet the hella weird goalie, as Chowder had called him, and he was so fucking pumped, okay!?

Can I get a Johnson and Jack friendship?

Like Jack is having really bad anxiety and Johnson tells him that everything is going to work out and Johnson sounds so sure of himself that Jack can't help but believe him.

And back in Jack's freshman year he hears Johnson say something about how this is just a "prologue for what's to come," and Jack is glad that someone else on the team sees college the same way he does- as a stepping stone to get where you want to go.

And then they live across the hall from each other and somehow Johnson can read Jack perfectly. He knows when Jack needs some alone time and gets the other guys to lay off. He knows when to nudge Shitty in his direction to drag him out of his room. When to leave his door open as an invitation for Jack to come in and the two of them just sit in companionable silence. When to pick a docudrama or biographical film for movie night because Jack wants to participate for Shitty's sake but he's too nervous to make any suggestions of his own.

And then junior year Jack sees how excited Johnson gets and Jack is happy for him because it's Johnson's senior year and he keeps talking about how things are "finally getting started" and Jack is glad that Johnson is look forward to his future.
