Souyu + Yosuke celebrate Yu's birthday (I'm aware that Yu doesn't have an official birthdate but couldn't hurt to think what day and month he could be born)
I genuinely really like how this one turned out. I know that the fanon date for Yu's birthday is July 10th, since that's when P4 originally came out in 2008 (fun fact, the license plate on his scooter in Golden also says July 10th), so that's the date that I picked. (That's also just a few days before my birthday, so I like the thought that it's then just by proximity lmao)
Yosuke took a breath, clutching the tray filled with various breakfast foods in his hands as he walked into their bedroom.
Yu was still asleep, curled up into a ball, his arm outstretched toward Yosuke’s side of the bed.
He walked over to where he was, placing the tray down on the bedside table, leaning over him. His bangs were falling over his forehead, obscuring his face. His mouth was ever so slightly open as he gently breathed in and out.
Yosuke smiled to himself, his chest filled with warmth, as he brushed the hair out of his face, leaning down, and gingerly pressing his lips to his forehead.
As soon as he pulled away, Yu made a soft noise, his eyelids fluttering open.
“Good morning,” Yosuke said, reaching over and laying his palm against his cheek.
Yu sat up a little, looking a little bit disoriented. His voice was a little scratchy and deeper than usual from sleep. “Good morning. Why are you up so early?”
Yosuke pressed another kiss to his forehead. “I made you breakfast. Happy birthday.”
“You didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to though. You’re always cooking for me.”
He gave him a soft smile. “Thank you.”
Yosuke smiled back, pulling away, and then grabbing the tray, putting it back down on his lap.
He blinked. “This is a lot of food. How long did this take.”
Yosuke shrugged. “I’ve been up for a couple of hours.”
Yu normally woke up around 5:30, so in order to get everything done before then, he had gotten up at around 3. It had been worth it though - if anything just to be able to wake him up like that.
“Wow. You were super dedicated then.”
“As if I’d be anything else.”
He walked around to the foot of the bed, crawling on top of it, sitting down next to Yu as he took a bite of some eggs.
“It’s really good. Thank you.”
“I’ve gotten a lot better at cooking, right Partner?”
Yu let out a small laugh. “Definitely.
Yosuke hummed, leaning his head onto him while wrapping one arm around his waist.
It was quiet for a few minutes before Yosuke started yawning. He was almost never up this early to begin with and getting up a few hours previous was starting to get to him.
He wanted to stay awake. He had things planned, after all, but, after a while, he lost the battle of keeping his eyes open, eventually letting himself slip into unconsciousness, pressed up, warm and content, against Yu's side.
- - -
He wasn't sure how long had passed when he woke up again. He was still sleeping against Yu, but he had curled up around him, grasping onto him like a koala.
He pulled his head away, looking up at him. He had grabbed a book at some point and was reading. He looked over at him, a small smile on his face.
"Good morning."
"Good morning. Happy birthday."
He let out a laugh. "We had this conversation already."
Yosuke hummed, pulling further away, and sitting up. "I can tell you happy birthday as many times as I want."
"I guess you can. Thanks for breakfast, by the way."
"Of course. How did you like it?"
"It was good. You're getting a lot better at cooking."
"I'm gonna be better than you someday."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
He laughed. "All right. When that happens, it'll be your job to make dinner then."
"Deal." Yosuke stretched his arms above his head. “What time is it?”
“About 9.”
He had slept for that long? They needed to hurry if he wanted them to get to everything he wanted to do.
"All right. I have things planned for today, so get ready."
"What kind of things?"
"You'll see."
Yosuke got off the bed, walking over to the dresser and getting clothes out, changing into them.
After that, he walked to the bathroom and finished getting ready.
When he walked out into the living room, Yu was sitting on the couch, seemingly ready to go.
“So, what are we doing?”
“We’re gonna go for a little bit of a drive.”
“All right.”
Before heading to the door, he walked to the kitchen, pulling a bag out of the fridge - something else that he had prepared that morning. After that though, he led him out the door and outside of the apartment building.
They lived in the city, so there wasn’t too much need for a car - they could take the subway or a train pretty much anywhere that they needed to go, but they still had one for more out of town trips.
He had packed all of what they needed in the car the night before, so everything was ready to go.
He put the bag in the backseat before getting in on the driver’s side. Yu got in as well, looking at him curiously.
“You’ll find out soon.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
“But you were thinking it.”
He shrugged.
Yosuke started driving, pulling out of the parking spot and onto the road. It was a decently long trip, so he settled in, turning on some music. He really liked doing things like this. There was just something about being in the car with Yu that made him happy.
As they were getting through the city traffic, Yosuke reached over, grasping onto Yu’s hand, intertwining their fingers. That was also really nice - he liked holding hands with him, but didn’t get to do it as much as he would have really liked.
They talked as they went - it was mostly Yosuke talking about whatever topics popped into his head while Yu chimed in whenever he had something to add. That was fine though. That was how it always was.
Before long, they got out of the city, heading into a more rural area. Most of the time getting out there had been spent driving through traffic. They were only about fifteen minutes away now.
Eventually, they pulled into a parking lot. There were only two other cars there - that worked out nicely. He wanted to actually spend time with him, but it was sometimes hard to do that with other people around. It was a large forested area. It almost didn’t feel like there was a big, bustling city a few miles away.
As soon as they parked, Yosuke got out of the car, first going to the backseat and retrieving the bag from earlier before going to the trunk. Yu met him there, looking on with curiosity.
He opened it, pulling out Yu’s tackle box and fishing rod, handing them to him.
“Are we going fishing?”
“I know you used to do it all the time, but there aren’t really spots to do it in the city. I figured that we could just spend a few hours out here.”
Yu smiled widely. “That sounds nice.”
He grabbed another bag from the trunk, closing it. “Come on then, there should be a path to the river through the forest.”
They only had to walk for a few minutes before coming up to a river, a wooden dock jutting out on one side. They walked down to it, Yu immediately beginning to set up his fishing rod.
If he was being honest, he really had no idea about fishing. Yeah, he had sat with Yu while he did it before, but he didn’t enjoy doing it himself. It was boring to just sit there for hours waiting for a fish to bite and he also didn’t particularly like the reward for doing that. Fish. He didn’t like fish at all. They looked weird and kind of freaked him out. He didn’t want them anywhere near him, and that included by eating them.
Yu liked fishing though, so he would put up with it.
Yu finished setting up his rod, sitting down on the dock as he cast the line.
Yosuke reached into one of the bags that he had brought, taking out a bottle of sunscreen. It was a pretty warm and sunny day and he didn’t want either of them getting sunburnt.
He put some on himself first before sitting down next to Yu.
“Hey, look at me.”
Yu complied, turning to face him.
He squirted some out into his hand before dabbing little bits onto his face, rubbing it in. He finished doing it pretty quickly.
“Thanks.”
“Of course.” He put the sunscreen back in the bag. “Oh, and I made lunch too whenever you’re hungry.”
Yu raised his eyebrows. “Wow, breakfast and lunch in the same day? What did I do to deserve that?”
Yosuke shrugged. “Be born, I guess.”
Yu hummed as Yosuke leaned against him, laying his head onto his shoulder. He closed his eyes, just enjoying the feeling of the sun against his skin.
All of a sudden, Yu jerked his arm back, causing Yosuke to let out a noise of alarm. He opened his eyes to see him reeling in the line, his gaze focused on the water. After a few seconds, he had it reeled in all the way, a wrigging fish attached with it.
He leaned away as he took it off of the hook. This was going to be a long couple of hours.
- - -
At about 2pm, they left. They had somewhere else that they needed to be.
Yu had managed to catch quite a number of fish. He smelled like them now, but that would probably serve him well where they were going.
It was just after 3 when they pulled into another parking lot in the city - the parking lot of an animal shelter.
Yu had been wanting to get a cat for the longest time. Yosuke had never been quite sure about it though. He had used the excuse for a while that their apartment didn’t allow pets, but they had moved into a different place not that long ago - one that allowed residents to have them. He still wasn’t completely sold on the idea of having one - he wasn’t sure he liked the idea of an animal relying on him to make sure it survived, but Yu would definitely be the one taking care of it the most, so really, it should be okay.
“Yosuke?”
“We have an adoption appointment at 3:15 to get a cat.”
“Really?” There was an excited light behind his eyes.
“Yeah. I think it’s time you finally get one.”
Yu gave him a soft smile, leaning forward, and lightly pressing his lips against his cheek. “Thank you.”
Yosuke smiled back. “Come on, let’s go in before we’re late.”
They walked inside, checking in, immediately getting led into the cat room.
There were so many cats in there - some of them were sleeping, some of them were playing, some of them were eating. It was really a little hub of activity.
Yu looked like he was in heaven, watching all of the cats, going up to them and holding his hand out, waiting until they allowed him to pet them before running his hands down their backs. It was a process he repeated so many times until he had basically pet every single cat in the room.
There was one that he kept gravitating toward though.
It was a loud orange tabby that kept walking up to him, demanding his attention, only stopping crying when Yu would drop everything else and begin petting him.
Yu seemed to like it though, smiling widely every time he would pet him.
“Do you want to get that one, Partner?” Yosuke asked, walking over to him.
He hummed. “He is very sweet. He kind of reminds me of you.”
“Of me?”
“Orange. Loud. Wants attention.”
Yosuke blinked. “All right. I’m going to pretend that those were compliments.”
Yu laughed. “They are.”
He reached over, picking up the cat. It immediately allowed him, not putting up any sort of fuss, just laying in his arms.
“What do you think?” he asked, holding the cat out.
Yosuke reached his hand out, letting the cat sniff his hand before scratching it gently behind the ear. “I think if this is the one you want, then you should get it.”
He hummed. “I think I’ll call him Azuki.”
“All right. Azuki it is.”
They found one of the volunteers, completing the adoption paperwork. They talked for a while about the care that went into having a cat. Yu seemed to already know most of it, but still listened with rapt attention.
Yosuke paid the adoption fee and then it was off to the pet store to get supplies.
Yosuke stayed in the car with Azuki while Yu went in. He sat there quietly for a little while before getting bored.
He looked in the mirror, staring back at the paper box carrier that the shelter had provided. He could see his nose sticking out through one of the holes.
“So, Azuki. I’m still not completely sold on having you, but you make Yu happy, so that’s why you’re here.”
There was a small meow that came from the box.
“Yeah, now, you had better be nice to him and you’d better not bite or scratch him. If you do that, you’re gonna wish you hadn’t. Do you understand?”
Azuki meowed again.
All of a sudden, the car door opened, Yu furrowing his brow at him. “Are you shovel talking the cat?”
Yosuke turned away, his face hot. “No.”
“He’s a sweet boy. He’s not going to do anything.”
“I guess.”
Yu got into the car, reaching over, and grabbing hold of his hand, squeezing it. “Is there anything else you had planned for today?”
“We have dinner reservations at 8. I figured that would be enough time to get him settled in at home.”
Yu brought their hands up, pressing his lips against the top of his hand. “You really went all out today, didn’t you?”
“It’s not every day that I get to celebrate your birthday.”
He gave him a soft smile. “I love you, you know?”
“I love you too.”

hiii i was your first anon ever but how about reader with someone ELSE crushing on her? under stsg’s noses?! omg the absolute war that will go down… maybe its a new student or maybe a first year! haibara? haibara a first year who has become absolutely enamored with her and heart eyes whenver he sees her!! and ykw shes so sweet oh so kind she doesnt find him odd in fact she thinks he’s equally sweet and shes so a fond of him, gives him the prettiest smiles and helps him out a lot! except shes so oblivious to the fact that he likes her!! everyone knows. everyone. shoko, nanami. (nanani tries his best to warn haibara about the future in liking her bc of the two guard dogs around her but haibara doesnt get the hints) AND stsg. oh when those two find out itll be an immediate shut down. maybe shoko lets out about the heart eyes haibara gives her everytime he sees her in the morning. or maybe they catch haibara and reader in a conversation where haibara is sweating and blushing a bright pink and reader is just calmly (?) and worriedly talking to him talking about some subject she found interesting, she reaches to touch his hand or head and he heats up even more and she has to almost catch him from fainting. stsg in the distance are fuming!!! satoru’s plan is to go storming in and makeout with her and give her a couple of hickies but suguru knows she might pass out from that and tells him to relax.. even tho inside suguru is equally distraught…but anyways… how you write is up to you!!!
so happy youre growing more and more and your stories are getting better!!!🩶🩶🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🤍❤️‍🔥
i love haibara man. everybody loves haibara i’m not gonna be mean to him cause he’s a literal ray of sunshine. no one can convince me to make haibara suffer, not even u, my no.1 anon.
so i completely changed ur suggestion hahahah
our first years are too cute! (geto x reader x gojo)
“Nanami-kun, Haibara-kun!” You wave at them from the courtyard, your arms flailing about in the air as you practically bounce in place from excitement.
“Good morning!” You’re dressed in your exercise getup, Shoko next to you stretching as she gave a lazy wave towards them.
“(last name)-san is always so cheery, isn’t she?” Haibara enthusiastically waved back with his whole body, trying to match your jolly energy.
“Good morning!!!”
Nanami sighs, watching as the SG duo begin to flank you, Suguru’s arm resting around your shoulders as Gojo pulls out some senbei from his pockets, waving it in the air and claiming they were fresh off the grill and deliciously ready for anyone to sink their teeth into.
“You’re gonna get stomachaches if you accept food from him.” Suguru whispers not very inconspicuously into your ear as you laugh.
“I can hear you!”
“If you can then you should treat us to some soda.” Shoko adds in, her arms twirling themselves around your free one as she stares at the bespectacled sorcerer.
“Or we’ll tell Yaga-sensei you skipped out on running 3 laps.”
You look at him stunned. Betrayed.
“I let you finish my water bottle when you said you were exhausted from running…” You’re disheartened at being tricked as Geto rubs your shoulder, whispering more about ‘liars’ and ‘dirty cheats’.
Shoko simply smirks as she holds your arm.
Satoru gives in to pressure.
“…The Satoru wallet has made an appearance once more! What would our lovely users like to drink today?!”
Your slackened shoulders instantly pipe up as the other 2 share a secretive high five.
——
“And that’s why azuki bean flavour is the best, Nanami-kun!” You grin as you plop the said wrapped bread into his open palm.
It feels hot. He could practically see the steam arising from it, the slight sweetness of the red bean wafting into temptingly into his nose.
This is too fresh to be from the cafeteria. It smells different too.
(He would know.)
“(last name)-san,” He stares at the treat whilst Haibara was gushing over the food, eyes sparkling as he looks at it. “Did you make this?”
You flinch, bashfully twirling a lock of your hair as you avoid his gaze.
“No…?”
Your eyes flit back up to meet an unamused stare paired with a cocked eyebrow. Oh. You’ve been caught.
“Aha.” You turn your back to him as your voice grows quieter, more insecure. “Is it obvious because it’s ugly?”
Realization then strikes you.
“A-ah, you probably wouldn’t want it because it’s homemade, right? Sanitation issues and all…” You promptly spin back around, trying to retrieve your treats before Haibara interrupts.
“(last name)-senpai made it?! Then there’s no way we can reject it!” He’s hugging the treat in his arms and dodging your attempts to snatch it back.
“B-but it really isn’t any good! I’ll buy you some from the one down the street!”
Even Nanami was now using his height to hold your treat high in the air, out of your reach. Haibara moves to copy his movements, both hands holding your homemade snack as high as he could go, proudly showing it off to the sky as if it were his greatest treasure.
“I will never forget this kind gesture, (last name)-senpai!”
“We will greatly savour this as your underclassmen.”
“Why do you both sound like this is the last thing you’re ever going to get from me?!”
——
“Then, Nanami swept in and went KABOOSH! And the curse was down several limbs!” Haibara recalled, his fists pumping into the air as he tried to replicate the excitement he felt during the mission.
You nod excitedly, happy to simply hear his excited voice.
It goes silent when he finishes, the tension enveloping the both of you.
You don’t want him to feel awkward around you.
Mm, what do the younger ones like nowadays anyways? Gundams? Maybe you should talk about that Ex-S MXA-0011 Gundam that you built with Satoru the other day.
“Ah…” He scratches his head, lost. “I’m sorry that I don’t know much about Gundams!” He’s now fervently bowing in apology.
You feel bad.
“Haibara-kun, you don’t need to bow!” You’re waving your hands frantically, trying to get him to stop as you panic.
You go back to thinking, absentmindedly staring deep into your lowerclassmen’s eyes as you think about the latest trends.
(You’re not noticing how intensely you’re looking at him. He’s blushing up a storm.)
“Oh!” Your fist taps your into your open palm.
“Do you like Pokemon?”
“Ah, Pocket Monsters?!” He’s excited. “Do you like it as well, (last name)-senpai?! I have a copy of the Fire Red version and I-“
He’s trailing off. You’re happy to see him smile again as he prattles on and on. So precious.
“You’re cute when you talk about things you like, Haibara-kun.”
Are kids these days meant to be so red?
(He’s only a year below you.)
“Are you okay?” You move forward, hand gingerly moving his bangs aside before you press the back against his flushed skin, face slowly closing in on his.
“Haibara-kun, are you not-“
“Haibara-chan has a cold, doesn’t he?!” Gojo tackles the boy, placing his own forehead against his own as Geto appears next to them.
“Sick people should take it easy and rest.” Geto snatches the boy away from his partner, dragging Haibara onto a nearby chair, slapping a fever patch onto his forehead as Gojo sticks a thermometer into the poor underclassman’s mouth.
“Guys, is that not a little rough…?” You move forward to try to stop Yu’s body from being tossed around, his eyes starting to spin as you try to catch him.
“Look at that!” Gojo’s arm is hugged around your neck as he pulls you in closer, grabbing you and pulling your body towards him for you to view the beeping thermometer with him.
“Our poor boy is burning up!”
“Well that’s not goo-“
“Suguru!” He snaps his fingers in the air as his hand moves to now rest on your waist as you’re pressed into his side.
“Contact the hospital and bring us our finest doctor!”
“Understood, sir!” Geto stands to attention, saluting the both of you as your eyes blankly stare at him.
What.
Geto simply winks at you, shaking his phone in his hand that had popped out of those seemingly endless deep pockets.
“Shooookooooo, emergency in the courtyard!”
You hear a muffled sigh coming out of his device as Gojo suddenly outs his own phone to take a selfie with you and a red Haibara.
(“Just smile as cutely as usual!”)
“…what does this have to do with me?”
——
Haibara Yu never felt such joy.
‘My seniors care about me so much!’
Gojo’s holding him by his legs, whilst Geto’s supporting the weight of his arms as they quite literally cart him around by his limbs.
He’s in bliss before he’s unceremoniously tossed onto the hard wooden bench, an unimpressed Shoko appearing by his side.
“Alright, patient of the day.” Her eyes glint as her hands move to hover over his body. “Get ready to experience the healing of a lifetime.”
“Yayyy, Shoko is the best!”
“World class!”
“She looks pretty when she’s so focused…”
“What did you troublesome lot pull Haibara into…?”
Should… He be scared? No. He’s got his trusty seniors and Nanami to look over him. He trusts you all.
——
“Which one of you made your little ‘adjustments’ to my chair?” Yaga growled out, a throbbing pain throughout his lower back and posterior as he sat upon the steps, pain relief patch slightly peeking out of his pants whilst looking down towards the two kneeling suspects.
Fingers are pointed at each other.
Yaga glares at the two culprits refusing to take the blame.
“You troublesome lot…” He cracks his knuckles as the two begin to cower slightly.
“NEED MORE DISCIPLINE!” He lets loose his fist, sending the SatoSugu duo flying as they soar through the yard, yelps of pain being let out.
Haibara gulps as he hears the commotion happening just meters away from him.
He should just ignore the building irritation and rage that’s boiling from within the senior beside him… Right?
He feels a sudden smack to his gut as his body jolts up, his ears taking the brunt of the loudest he’s ever heard Ieiri-senpai.
“I CAN’T CONCENTRATE IF YOU DON’T SHUT IT!”
(She’s referring to her two injured classmates who are rubbing their heads as they whine about Yaga’s ‘mistreatment’.)
(You’re holding an ice pack to Satoru’s head as Suguru curls up beside you, waiting for his turn.)
——
Sleeping.
That’s what you were all doing. The sun was beginning to set, an orange glow engulfing your forms in its warm embrace as the night began to settle in.
Suguru’s back is against the tree, arms crossed against his chest as he slumps over, snoring lightly with Satoru drooling all over his right shoulder.
You’re nestled comfortably on his other shoulder, snuggling yourself into his neck as you nearly fall onto his chest, one hand in Shoko’s hair where she lays on your lap, her hand oddly stretched forward, fingers grazing the fabric of Suguru’s knees.
The underclassmen simply settle down around the tree with all of you, right next to Gojo as they observe the strangely serene sight.
“Our upperclassmen… Are kinda cute, aren’t they?”
“Don’t flatter them.”
(“Should we wake them up?”)
(“…Let them rest for a little longer.”)

Notes:
“Suguru, is your head fine?”
“Ah, I’m quite alr-“ He pauses, his smile growing as he looks at you, eyes curving up into mischievous crescents. “Actually… It does feel a little sore.” His tone subtly shifts to one of mock hurt, hand coming up to press the bump softly as he fakes a little wince.
(A little lie wouldn’t hurt, right?)
“Wanna make me feel better?” He’s silent as he leans down towards you, hoping you pat his head and let him indulge a little in your touch.
You stare at him.
He’s surprised when you slowly lean up on your toes, fingers pressing against his cheek before a kiss was administered to his forehead as you tuck away his strand of hair.
“I hope you feel better soon.” You watch him as his blush grows, eyes staring starstruck at you.
“…”
“I will if you do that again.”
(“My head hurts too! It’s my turn!”)
(“My hand hurts all of a sudden from whacking Haibara.”)

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat 2 Eps 17-20 (Finale)
Last week gave me everything I wanted and more. The whole squad went over to Yako's place for a curry party and everyone had a great time. Later, Nagumo got a diagnosis for her condition and got to have personal time with Yako. Kasuga and Nomoto continued to work on their communication and making sure they aren't trampling over each other. They're continuing to work on this move. Seriously, we had a curry party and a s'mores party last week. We planted strawberries together. Let's finish this.
Episode 17
Looking for housing is so stressful. I was wondering if we'd get into housing discrimination in this.
Red beans in Japan are different from what we eat here. Theirs carry a naturally sweet profile that doesn't mesh well with creole cooking.
I feel like those beans needed to boil longer, but that's me thinking in my home cooking terms.
Yes, ladies, tell each other how happy you are to see each other.
@furritsubs thank you for the note about Azuki beans.
I'm really enjoying the way they're handling this situation. The realtor wasn't trying to be homophobic, but the systems he was upholding with the landlord references reinforces the status of same sex households. I also like that they acknowledged how circumstances closet people in ways that hurt them. This is good payoff from the news bit we saw earlier in season with Kasuga.
Getting a tasty treat in before going back into the fray is so valid.
Kasuga being even more affectionate about Nomoto's food now that they're dating is exactly what I wanted.
Episode 18
Oh fuck yeah, let's continue to unpack how structural homophobia makes people scared to share something that should be a joyous occasion.
Amused that Yako is the primary person using Nomoto's given name.
Are we going to have a takoyaki party next??
COME THROUGH, YAKO!!! You gotta help your folks get through this bullshit, but never let them forget that it's bullshit!!
I am relieved that we checked in with Ms. Fujita about divorcing her husband at the same time as we're working through LGBT housing issues. Single divorced women likely also face huge challenges in housing when marriage is the goal we're being pushed into.
Wow, Sayama, you are in contention for the Yihwa Best Girl Award this year. You are an ally. Love the way she examined how what she said might have been hurtful.
Feeling like you somehow failed because you didn't get married in your 20s is so real. I sometimes struggle with this in my 30s.
This show uses its characters to illustrate its political points in a way that feels gentle and accessible, but also carries a sense of urgency. Women are facing extreme reproductive pressure right now, and it's clearly not making those who don't already want husbands and children happier. Hell, it's making them resentful to the point of divorce as they get older.
Hold on. Gotta cry a bit about Nomoto telling Kasuga that being told outright that hiding who they are upset her made her feel better got me.
Episode 19
Takoyaki Party let's goooooo!!!
A party where you cook together like this is always so much fun. We had fun with some friends' kids a few weeks ago teaching them how to make pancakes and letting them add their own toppings before, during, and after cooking.
Nagumo managed to enjoy a bite of food with them. Hold on. Crying again.
We've seen takoyaki a few times lately, and I am very impressed with this cooker.
Yako, tactful as always, is gonna check on Nagumo. I love her.
This is so important. Couple formation does affect the friends around them, and I'm really glad Yako let Nagumo voice that she supports her friends even as she knows she's going to miss the dynamic they've had. Yako is so right to point out that a change doesn't mean it's over, and their friendship will last if we all continue to reach out.
This realtor scene is so good. I like how politely she asked for them to disclose their relationship with the express purpose of securing ideal housing, and we're getting into how the financing of housing can affect people's privacy. She's also owning that landlords can discriminate against couples. I also appreciate that their meeting room was private.
I'm ready for the moving in party!
Episode 20
They got the house!!
A crab cream croquette party!!!
Wait, where's Nagumo? I wanted her to try a croquette too!
We are on the bed together. This is not a drill.
Yes, let's acknowledge that they have liked each other since season 1.
The intimacy question is on the floor!
They are finally hugging!
NOW KISS!!!
That was very sweet, and felt right for them. I'm glad they had that moment in the old place before they moved.
Cried because of Ms. Fujita and Nagumo possibly getting hired.
So glad Yako and Nagumo are still hanging out! That's really how some friends groups will be. Two people will just gel at a party and grow close.
Oh hell yeah we're at casual intimacy now.
I'm so excited to see where the TV goes next season!!
Oh my goodness Kasuga is wearing a lighter sweater!!!!!!
Final Verdict: 10, Go Watch This Immediately and Then Show it to a Friend. Seriously, do not make excuses for yourself. You owe it to yourself to watch this show. Between this, Ossan's Love Returns, and What Did You Eat Yesterday? coming back, we cannot stop supporting our shows about older people getting together and forming their own forms of family. This show built on the foundation of its first season and made every little detail feel so potent and impactful. I did not expect the pen pal to grow into a trusted confidant and core member of this friend group, nor was I expecting the women at the supermarket to help Kasuga as much as they did. This season was excellent, and will be joining WDYEY on my comfort watch rotation.
Big thanks to @furritsubs and friends for making this watch possible.

Saizo (JP: サイゾウ; rōmaji: saizou) is the fiery ninja that serves as a retainer to Hoshido's crown prince Ryoma in Fire Emblem Fates. This name is in reference to the fictitious ninja Kirigakure Saizō (JP: 霧隠才蔵). He belonged to a group of ninja known as the Sanada Ten Braves, who served the samurai warlord Sanada Yukimura during the Sengoku period. According to the tales, the Ten Braves participated in the Seige of Osaka, a year-long conflict in which Sanada, loyal to the Toyotomi clan, lost the defensive war of attrition. Of the ten, only Kirigakure Saizō and Sarutobi Sasuke really stuck in pop culture.
This choice of name for the Fire Emblem character is based not only on him being a skilled shinobi, but his fierce loyalty to Ryoma—also named after a renown Sengoku period samurai. Given the importance of the fall of Osaka, with the Tokugawa Shogunate becoming Japan's militant government system for the next two hundred years, the fall of Ryoma and Shirasagi Castle in the Conquest story route could be influenced by the Seige of Osaka. The death of Saizo's father may also pull from stories that claim that Kirigakure was the son of Azai Nagamasa, brother-in-law to the infamous warlord Oda Nobunaga—the very man who had killed Azai.
Xaizor is a dread fighter of Rigel that is fought in a skirmish at the foot of Fear Mountain in Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Though not immediately apparent, this random mook is also based upon Kirigakure Saizō. This could be surmised in the original release, with his Japanese name being サイゾー (rōmaji: saizо̄)—a less common rendering of the name in katakana—and the ninja-inspired design of the Dread Fighter class. The remake deepened this connection with additional lines in the script indicating a devotion to the noble Emperor Rudolf, rather than the cruel witch Nuibaba. One could even consider a parallel between the Seige of Osaka and the Deliverance storming Rigel, and thus, a parallel between Rudolf and Sanada Yukimura.
Asugi is the young, candy-loving shinobi and heir to the Saizo name in Fire Emblem Fates. Surprisingly enough, he shares quite a bit of intel on both his and his father's names in the game itself! Straight from the horse's mouth:
"Asugi" is a word in one of the languages they speak out there. It means "gray."
As it turns out, asugi is only a word in some languages of the Philippines, primarily Hiligaynon. In those tongues, asugi means mercury—not gray, but the silver color of the metal is gray-adjacent.
More than anything, the name Asugi was intended to be an anagram of Gaius, the character from Fire Emblem Awakening that he is practically a carbon copy of. And though the name is certainly not Japanese, when rendered in the language as アスギ, it would closely resemble アズキ (rōmaji: azuki), just with the dakuten (the two hash marks on the top right corner of ギ and ズ) changed. Azuki, more commonly referred in English as adzuki beans, are typically boiled with sugar to make red bean paste. This paste is a common ingredient in sweets in East Asia, used as a filling in Japanese dango, mochi, and other confectionaries.
In Japanese, Asugi is instead called グレイ (rōmaji: gurei). In internal files, this is romanized as Gurei, while the official artbook calls him Gray. In the original script, this is what he said about his name:
「グレイ」は、暗夜の言葉で「灰色」って意味だそうだ。
Translation: I heard that in the language of Nohr, "Gray" means "ash-colored*."
*In Japanese, the word for many colors refer to a common natural occurrence of that color. As such, the color gray literally means "ash-colored" in the language.
Much like the English localization, the name also makes reference to a familiar face. The rōmaji rendering Gurei is an anagram of Guire, the official romanization of Gaius' Japanese name. However, there is a possibility that there is a reference to another character in this name:グレイ is also the name of Gaiden's Gray. Though not indicated in the original game, the stats of the Ram villagers suggest that Gray is intended to take the Mercenary classline. This class distribution would be further pushed with the release of Shadows of Valentia two years after Fates. It's not an unreasonable possibility that Asugi and Saizo were intended to be named after the suggested choice of playable Dread Fighter in Alm's army and the only named Dread Fighter encountered by the Deliverance before the final battle.
As hinted earlier, Asugi also reveals some information about the Saizo name, at least in the world of Fates. Here's what he has to say in English:
If I understand right, [Saizo is] a Hoshidan word that means "color bringer."
In Japanese, Asugi instead says that Saizo means 彩りを造る (rōmaji: irodori wo tsukuru)—"making color." The kanji used in the phrase are alternatively read as sai and zou, making Saizo the only Hoshidan character in Fire Emblem Fates with a canonical kanji rendering of his name: 彩造.

Adzuki beans and chocolate: Japanese confectionery vs Western confectionery (Essay)
Tumblr media
Daifuku-Mochi(Big happy rice cake) with Adzuki beans
Azuki beans(red beans) are indispensable as an ingredient in Japanese sweets. "An(paste)" made from this material is the most important ingredient in various Japanese sweets. On the other hand, chocolate is used in important parts of Western sweets. It is a showdown between the king of Japanese confectionery and the king of Western confectionery. Now let's compare the nutritional value of the two.
"Azuki beans first."
Red bean products are low in calories
rich in dietary fiber

B vitamins and minerals
Among minerals, it is rich in iron and potassium. Iron is the main component of hemoglobin in red blood cells, and lack of iron prevents oxygen from reaching the extremities sufficiently, resulting in anemia. Even compared to spinach, which is known for its high iron content, one daifuku can provide more than twice as much iron as one serving of boiled rice. The best way to prevent high blood pressure is to refrain from salt intake, but it is also important to take a lot of potassium and balance it with sodium. Bananas are representative of foods rich in potassium, but adzuki beans contain four times that amount, and even after boiling, they have more potassium than bananas.
good amino acid balance

Strongest Antioxidant Activity - Red Bean Polyphenols
Reactive oxygen is said to be a factor in lifestyle-related diseases, aging, and diseases such as cancer. Adzuki beans contain nearly twice as much polyphenol as red wine, a component that removes this active oxygen. Adzuki beans have a particularly high polyphenol content among legumes, and Hokkaido-produced adzuki beans have higher polyphenol content than imported adzuki beans, and among Hokkaido-produced adzuki beans, normal azuki beans have higher activity than Dainagon.
It's pretty good. Then chocolate.
What ingredients are in chocolate? "Here are the ingredients that are good for your health."
@Polyphenol
Cocoa, which is the raw material of chocolate, contains plenty of polyphenols.
@Theobromine (meaning God-given)
Stimulates the brain to improve concentration, memory, and thinking power. There is also an action to adjust the autonomic nerve, so you can also expect a relaxing effect. This is why eating chocolate makes you feel relieved when you are tired.
@ Glucose
@oleic acid
@GABA
Cava, whose official name is γ (gamma)-aminobutyric acid, exists widely in the bodies of animals and plants, and is also included in cacao, the raw material of chocolate. It is a neurotransmitter that exists in the human brain and is a type of amino acid that is said to help with relaxation.
@Vitamins and minerals
It's also pretty good. There are many things in common, such as high mineral content and excellent polyphenol content, but in the overall evaluation, chocolate seems to have a slight advantage. But I think adzuki bean is also an excellent food. Adzuki beans also contain vitamins such as vitamin E, vitamin K, niacin, and folic acid.
Word of the day: Depending on how you look at it, sweets can also be an excellent medicinal dish. It is said that during WW2, the US military gave fighter pilots chocolate, and the Japanese military gave them yokan to prevent brain fatigue.

Azuki Bean
Vigna angularis is an annual vine native to East Asia. Bright yellow flowers bloom in summer and bean pods mature in autumn. It has been cultivated as early as 3,000 BC in prehistoric Japan and mentioned in the oldest Shinto book Kojiki written in the early 8th century. Japanese name azuki is derived from ancient word meaning ‘easy to cook red bean’ with kanji ‘small bean’ in contrast to soy’s kanji ‘large bean’. Azuki is a signature flavour in Japanese cooking culture from wagashi sweets to rice dishes.

Day 05: Historical Japan AU
It was a calm day in the region of Kanto. People walked the streets. Some of them went to work, some went to study...they all had a purpose in life.
"But what is my purpose?"
Kasumi looked at the reflection of herself in the pond. The young 18 year old princess sat down in the garden. She had a red kimono on. Her red hair was bound back with a comb on top with a red ribbon. She had red painted lips. With her fingers she gently touched the water of the pond.
The oldert of her three sisters, Sakura, walked into the garden.
The young queen with her blond hair and marine-blue eyes sat down next to Kasumi with a smile.
"Kasumi, what are you doing here all by yourself? We have guests. It is rude for you to ignore them."
Kasumi looked away from her. "I am not in the mood for another royal duty. I would enjoy it a lot more if you let me be."
Sakura sighed. "I know the death of our mother was hard on you, but you shouldn't wallow in despair..." She put her hand onto Kasumi's cold cheek and the princess looked at her. "Not when you have such a face as she had."
"But...if I go in there...I know that they will compare me to thee. I'm not as sophisticated as you, oneesama (sister)."
"You don't have to be." Sakura said. "Just be yourself. Then everything will be alright."
____________________________________________________________________
At the party there were a lot of people.
The queen walked in with Kasumi, but quickly left her to talk to the shogun. So Kasumi went over to the table filled with sweets, took a bowl filled with wagashi (Japanese confections that are often served with green tea, especially the types made of mochi, azuki bean paste, and fruit) and sat walked over to an open screen door.
There she sat down on a cushion on the ground and looked at the falling petals of the cherry blossom trees.
"Kasumi oujo-sama (princess)?"
Kasumi looked up from her bowl of wagashi. She saw a man with raven black hair and a pikachu on his shoulder. Kasumi's eyes widened. She jumped up and smiled at him.
"Satoshi-san!" Kasumi said.
She had known Satoshi since they were children. He was no royal, just a traveller and trader, but they were on good terms.
Kasumi wanted to give him a hug, but people were watching. She knew she had to keep it professional.
"W-what are you doing in Kanto? I thought you were going to the Hoenn region."
Satoshi scratched his neck. "Well, I forgot something...or rather someone important."
Kasumi folded her arms. "Takeshi isn't going with you, remember? He is opening up his own medical clinic to help Pokemon in need."
Satoshi scoffed. "Okay, first of all, I know Takeshi won't go with me. I wasn't talking about him."
"Then who were you talking about?" Kasumi asked.
"Pikachupi!" Pikachu exclaimed.
Kasumi became flushed. She nervously averted her gaze from Satoshi. The words Pikachu said meant her name. Which meant that Satoshi wanted to take her with him.
"I...I can't..." Kasumi said. "I...I have a duty here...I am a princess!"
"If you come with me, then all of your burdens will go away." Satoshi said. "And you know how I feel towards you. Please, come with me, ojou-sama."
"I..."
"Kasumi, you can't leave the other guests waiting!"
Her sister Ayame appeared at their side. She looked at Kasumi and then at Satoshi.
"Ah, Satoshi-kun!" Ayame said. "I had no idea you were still in town! What a surprise...wait, Kasumi, why are you blushing?"
"Because..." Kasumi gulped. She knew she couldn't keep a secret from her sister. "Satoshi asked me to leave with him."
"Leave with him? What are you talking about?"
"I want to." Kasumi whispered. "But...if I do..."
"What is this about leaving?"
Sakura appeared by their side as well. She frowned at them.
"Kasumi..." Sakura said. "If you leave, then you know what will happen to you."
Kasumi nodded. "Yes. I am fully aware of the sickness that resides in my body."
Satoshi seemed a bit confused. "The disease? You don't mean..."
Sakura sighed. "Yes. Kasumi will not live longer than a year ahead. There is no cure. Tell me, are you willing to love her even when you can only be together for a year?"
Satoshi chuckled. The others looked a bit confused at him until he took Kasumi's hand in his and said;
"Yes, I am willing to take that risk."
____________________________________________________________________
Her hair fell out of its traditional hair-do. She changed from her pajamas into a simple blue kimono.
As Satoshi and Kasumi left in the night, Kasumi was no longer the princess of Kanto. Instead she was now going to be a commoner, someone no one would look at or expect anything from.
And she loved it.
The two travelled all over the world, to each of the regions. They met very interesting people and saw a lot of Pokemon and nature itself.
But as they travelled, they knew that one day that horrid day would come.
__________________________________________________________________
One year later
She laid in a bed. Her now shorter red hair was sprawled onto a pillow. Her husband and Pikachu were by her side as she laid there dying.
"Satoshi..." Kasumi looked at her hand in his hand. His hand felt a bit rougher and felt cold from the winter's snow. A single candle lit up the dark room as night had come to visit them.
"Kasumi..." Satoshi whispered. "I love you."
Kasumi looked at him. "Satoshi...thank you for giving me a purpose in life...without you I would have fallen into despair and died as a princess...instead I got to travel the world, see new pokemon, meet people, experience the world...thank you..."
Blood started to trickle from her nose. Satoshi gasped and quickly wiped it away.
"Don't worry..." Kasumi said weakly. "I'm only going away for a bit..."
Satoshi choked up and placed a kiss on her hand. "Kasumi..."
"I...I just want you to love me in my next life as well..."
Satoshi looked at her. "I will, Kasumi. Just as I have done before. That is a promise on my soul."
Kasumi smiled at him. "I love you, Satoshi."
Satoshi bend down and gave her one more final kiss. Kasumi returned the kiss until her light went out and her lips stopped moving. Satoshi pulled back. He looked at the dead body of his wife. Pikachu started to cry and Satoshi cried too as he grabbed her cold hand and put it against his cheek.

"Oh! Oh! Hey, I got a bite! Oh, wow, I really think this could really be a big one!"
Misty pulled at her fishing rod. She pulled hard and something fell down onto the ground beside her. She blinked and stared at the boy. His black hair...she got a strange feeling that she had seen him before somewhere. She shook her head and ignored her heart as she said;
"Nah, it's just a kid...oh and a Pokémon! Are you okay?"
She jumped down when she saw the injured pikachu in his arms. She had no idea why, but seeing that pikachu in such a bad state made her heart hurt. It was as if it were her own Pokemon.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay." Ash said. He looked at the girl and stopped talking for a second. The girl seemed really familiar, but he had no idea why.
"Not you! Look what you done to that poor little thing. Is it breathing?!"
Ash snapped out of it. There was no way he knew someone like her. He jumped up and grabbed her bike. Misty yelled at him to give her bike back, but Ash paddled as fast as he could.
Misty put her hands on her hips and groaned. But her annoyed look quickly melted away. She put one hand against her chest.
Her heart was beating faster than normally.

Anon asked: “ Can you do a one-shot were reader is Light's sister and secretly in a relationship with L and she spends the night with L at HQ for the first time and Light catches her leaving L's bedroom and confronts her and L in front of the whole Task Force“
A/N: sure dear. But since in the manga L and Light were handcuffed together at the HQ, I changed a bit the location so this one-shot is set in the hotel we can all see in the anime.
Again, sorry if you find mistakes in my stories, English is not my first language.
pairing: L x Light’s sister!reader
warning: none
requested: yes
H/L = hair length
H/C = hair colour
F/C = favourite colour
E/C = eye colour
Y/A = your alias
Tumblr media
The third Yagami. Why did nobody talk about her? Y/N Yagami: H/L hair in a shining H/C shade, excellent scholastic career and charming personality. Few years younger than Light and older than Sayu, she was as smart as Light, as perfect as her older brother despite the tiny age gap so why she wasn't on everyone's lips like him? Simple, because she liked something called discretion.
Y/N Yagami never liked being under the spotlight (A/N: ahah did you get the joke here?). She was an excellent student yes, Soichiro and Sachiko's pride, but she didn’t show it off.
Y/N, Light and Sayu had a special bond. They would do everything for each other, they were one the confidant of the other. However, since the end of November 2003 Light started to act strange. He would spend more time in his room than with Y/N or Sayu and both of her didn’t know the reason. He was more distant and colder with her too and this made Sayu a bit sad.
But, as we said before, Y/N loved discretion. Something happened to her too. She met someone. It was a strange encounter, Y/N admitted it.
♰ FLASHBACK ♰
It was another rainy day at Tokyo but Y/N had her F/C umbrella in her bag. Luckily it wasn’t that heavy so she was pretty confident she would reach home all dry.
Wrong. Not much after she left the Daikoku Private Academy (her high school), a heavy shower poured on her and the tiny pocket-sized umbrella could do precious little. Fortunately, a nearby bakery had a big awning and she ran towards it searching for a shelter.
«Damn…such a timing…» she wasn’t wet but that rain bothered her a lot since that afternoon she wanted to go at the tennis field with Light.
Y/N closed the umbrella and turned to take a look at the shop window of that bakery. In front of her a large variety of sweets, cookies, cakes, ice-creams, candies scattered all together on a table. She frowned finding it quite strange.
«Why on a table?» she asked mostly at herself since she was alone under the awning. However, she soon realised it was not the bakery's shop window but the table of one of the many clients. Then, from behind a black cherry double layer cake, appeared a head of a young man with messy black hair. Y/N observed how greedily that man was eating the cake: in one bite he ate almost half slice of that cake.
She opened her E/C eyes wide at that sight. Were all those sweets only for him? He would get a stomach ache and a cavity if he decided to eat all those sugary delights.
Another good look at the guy and Y/N, if it was possible, would open even wider her eyes: a very slim, pale, young man with messy neck-length black hair and black eyes; those eyes had a deep shadow below them, maybe his sleep was too much overwrought. Y/N noticed how simple his clothes were: a pair of blue jeans and a long-sleeved white shirt. Nothing more, nothing less.
But two things caught Y/N attention: first, his posture. He seemed to prefer to crouch rather than sit. And second, the way he was holding those sweets, using only a thumb and a finger. For someone as Y/N Yagami, a guy like him was strange yet interesting at the same time. For some reason she wanted to know more about him.
He was going to eat what remained of the slice of cake when he turned his gaze at her. His look was so intense that made Y/N jump for the surprise. However, she got hypnotised by those eyes, so deep black and apparently empty.
They kept staring at each other for a while, none of them looked away or blinked. It was only when someone spoke near Y/N's ear that she snapped back in the real world.
«Y/N, what are you doing here?» it was Light with his usual serious voice. When Y/N looked at him she noticed he was still wearing the Daikoku's uniform.
«Light!» she turned her body fully at him. «I was waiting the rain to stop»
«It stopped ten minutes ago, we're waiting for you at home»
Ten minutes ago? For how much time Y/N and that guy stared at each other then? She apologised to Light and before leaving the bakery's awning she looked inside one more time but she didn’t see that weird boy anymore.
♰ BACK TO THE PRESENT ♰
Since that particular encounter, Y/N met few more times that guy. Especially at the To-Oh University where Y/N was present at a tennis match between that guy and Light. Of course Light won and his little sister couldn’t be happier.
One day, back at that specific bakery where the two saw each other for the first time, Y/N was enjoying a break from her studies with a cup of tea and some sweets when she felt a presence beside her.
«Good afternoon, Miss. May I have a seat?» a warm and monotone voice spoke not much far from her. When Y/N turned towards the source of that voice she couldn’t hide the surprise in finding that same weird guy! What was his name…ah, something like Hideki Ryuga, like the idol. Sayu loved that actor.
Y/N looked around the shop noticing many empty tables so she found it very strange. However, she gestured him the chair in front of her and he sat down. Well, the correct expression was "he crouched" since he didn’t sit like a normal person.
«I noticed you took all the remaining daifuku» (A/N: "daifuku" = a Japanese confection consisting of a small round mochi (glutinous rice cake) stuffed with sweetened red bean paste made from azuki beans. They could be white, pale green, or pale pink-coloured).
«It's because they're my favourite sweets»
Shortly after that a waiter walked closer and took Hideki's order and few minutes later that same waiter brought a cup of tea and a large slice of strawberry shortcake. The two of them stood in silence for a while until Y/N decided to end that embarrassing situation.
«I saw you at the To-Oh…great match» Y/N took a sip of her tea, the steam warmed her face.
«Thank you. Light Yagami was a great rival back then. Aren't you too young for the University?»  he asked tilting his head in confusion, the thumb was pressed against his pale lips. «Oh my, the manners. I'm Hideki Ryuga»
«Like the idol?» Y/N asked surprised.
«Yes» Hideki replied and then he devoured in one bite an entire daifuku.
Of course Y/N didn’t believe him. Sure, it could be true that this guy shared the same name with someone else. However, Y/N had a strange feeling.
«I'm Y/A» she ate a daifuku, a pale-green one.
«Only Y/A?»
«Yes»
Unaware of Y/N, Hideki's gaze darkened. He knew exactly who Y/N was and the fact that she used an alias much like him made grow a strange excitement inside him. That was going to be fun.
♰ TIME SKIP ♰
It went without saying that Y/N and Hideki (or Ryuzaki as he wanted to be called) created a special, deep tie. Something completely different from the connection with Light and Sayu. Between Y/N and Ryuzaki there was understanding, complicity and empathy; they completed each other sentences and their way of reasoning was the same. This bond became even stronger when Ryuzaki revealed he was the greatest detective L. Y/N suspected that he was hiding something but she couldn’t imagine something like that.
Soon they could consider themselves in a romantic relationship. The fact that Y/N was Light's sister could be a problem but not for L. The two of them had a personal way to show love and affection: whispering sweet nothings in each other ears, lacing their fingers together when nobody was looking or gently running a hand over each other’s back or arm. In public they were quite discrete as Y/N requested. However, one day this discretion broke irremediably.
«Are you sure? I mean…I'm Light's sister after all…»
«You're nothing like Light-kun, Y/N»
It was late afternoon, almost dinner time. Very soon Y/N should come back home but before that they had a couple of hours for themselves. Their relationship grew to such an extent that both of them were ready to take one step forward (if you what I mean).
«You're the exact opposite…your eyes don't have the same dangerous shadow as his» L raised the hand and touched Y/N's cheeks, the index finger traced every curve of her features as to register everything.
Y/N smiled leaning in the touch. She looked at him, E/C pools met black ones. After an endless minute, their faces became closer and closer until a kiss connected them. A first chaste and sweet kiss turned in something more passionate and rough, the hands started to roam around their bodies wanting more and more. And they had more those hours.
.
.
.
It was 7pm and Light had to walk back home with Y/N as often happened when she would come with him at Ryuzaki's hotel. The Yagami boy had a strange feeling about his sister: she was acting strange, she was so out of character. Nothing worrying but Light noticed this change in his sister.
He was searching for Y/N around the hotel, they had to meet near the elevator but she didn’t specify which one. That was what Light referred when he said "being out of character": Y/N would never forget a detail like that, he knew she was a precise person.
However, Light would discuss this later but in that moment he had to find his sister. He turned the corner and stopped abruptly at the sight in front of him: Y/N was kissing L on the lips in front of his bedroom.  Light kept staring at them in disbelief, horror and in rage. How dare L do such things with his sister? He was going to pay for this.
After the kiss, Y/N walked away from the bedroom leading towards the private lounge where the task-force worked. Maybe she wanted to say hi to Soichiro before leaving the hotel. Light followed her, his blood was boiling inside him. Now he had another good reason to kill Ryuzaki, at least from his point of view.
«Dad! Me and Light are leaving. Should we wait for you for dinner?»
«No dear, I'll be late tonight. Be careful on your way home»
Light joined the task-force in the lounge shortly after Y/N. Everyone greeted him but he didn’t say anything. His younger sister found it quite weird.
«Are you alright, Light?»
«Of course, Y/N. Everything's fine…except for the fact I saw you»
«It's good to hear you don’t need glasses, Light…» Y/N tried to appear relaxed by using sarcasm but inside her she was panicking.
«I'm talking about the kiss with Ryuzaki» he crossed the arms while looking sharply at his sister.
«The what?!» Soichiro uttered in shock dropping all the papers on the ground. Even the rest of the task-force was shocked.
In that exact moment L entered the lounge and sat at his armchair ignoring everyone's gaze on him.
«Ryuzaki! Explain! Is it true you kissed my daughter?» Soichiro asked in a rush. His face was red but for rage or embarrassment? Who knew.
«Please Yagami-san, there's no need for these scenes» the greatest detective in the world replied monotone as always.
«Don’t tell me to stay calm, Ryuzaki!»
L sigh. «Light-kun, could you tell your father to stay calm please?»
«I won't say anything, Ryuzaki. However, I would rather an explanation»
«You don’t need explanations, Light. My life has nothing to do with you» Y/N crossed the arms as well, now quite bothered by both her father and brother.
«You cannot date Ryuzaki, Y/N!» Light said firmly.
«And please, may I know the reason?» Y/N counterattacked.
«Because he is way older than you!»
«Look who's talking…the boy who is dating a girl older than him…» Y/N was talking about Misa who was for real two years older than Light.
This back and forth continued for a while and the three Yagamis were raising too much their voices for L's taste. Luckily, the rest of the task-force was too terrified to interfere and kept following with the eyes the moves of Soichiro, Light and Y/N. After a while, L had enough.
«Light-kun, Yagami-san please…» he put down the discussion using his alluring and authoritative voice despite it was always so emotionless. However, Y/N discovered how passionate his voice could be just few hours before in his bedroom. «Have you even considered that your daughter is smart enough to understand what is the best for her? I understand that you, Yagami-san, as a father and you, Light-kun, as a brother were worried about Y/N's safety, but please evaluate her opinion too before making a fuss» L took from the pocket of his jeans a lollipop, he unwrapped it and started to eat it.
Light and Soichiro stopped arguing. At those words Soichiro was deep in thought while Light didn’t change his mind about that topic.  After five minutes of silence, Soichiro sighed.
«I want the best for her too…» he admitted. «And if you're the best for her, Ryuzaki, so be it»
«Dad!» Light protested but Soichiro raised a hand to stop him.
«I know you're worried, Light, but Ryuzaki is right. Y/N…are you sure about him?»
Y/N nodded with conviction. «Yes dad, I trust and love Ryuzaki with all my heart. I want to stay with him»
Soichiro smiled at her. «Good. But Ryuzaki!» he said out of nowhere pointing his index finger to the greatest detective in the world. «If you hurt Y/N in any way I'm going to arrest you!»
In the meantime, Light didn’t say a word. He was trying to elaborate a new plan after that sudden turn of events. When Y/N asked his opinion about that argument, he replied that as long as Ryuzaki treated her with love and respect he could consider the idea to accept that relationship.
But now that his sister and Ryuzaki were a couple, will he continue with his deadly plan?

Did you know Herobrine and Steve loves summer and trendy outfits, because they wish they could meet their brother again to celebrate summer party, for example: Beaches, Disco, Dancefloor, ect. ^_^
Ouh. Well, as for Usagi-Ijah, she likes to spend her time with her friends at Japan, when the summer started, they are planning to go somewhere for holiday, vacation I must say. And their favourite snack or food they would like to eat is kakigori, Japanese shaved ice dessert! With syrup flavour and a sweetener, often condensed milk. She also went to the summer party like, beaches, dancefloor, karaoke to sing, etc! Ouh! And you see Usagi's favourite food is sushi, taiyaki, zaru soba, unagi and yakitori! While Yumaki's (Usagi's 1st friend) favourite food is somen, taiyaki, unagi, sushi, anmitsu and yakisoba. For Mayuki's (Usagi's 2nd friend) is ramen, shabu-shabu, yokan, hiyayakko, and hiyashi chuka. And their most favourite food is mochi, sushi and sashimi! ^^

Japanese cat names
In this article, you'll find carefully curated lists of a number of the simplest Japanese pet names for cats and kittens.
One of the foremost fun parts of selecting your kitty’s new name is learning more about the history of cats in Japan, which is both ancient and interesting!
Without further ado, let’s get to the great stuff – the lists of Japanese cat names!
About Japanese Cat Breeds The Japanese Bobtail cat is widely considered to be an ancient purebred cat breed that hails from Japan.
While modern genome analysis suggests the breed can also be influenced by felines from China or Korea, the Japanese claim the breed as their own.
The nearby Kuril Islands even have their cat breed, the Kurilian Bobtail cat.
The Kurilian Bobtail looks strikingly almost like the Japanese Bobtail cat – sufficiently so that researchers suspect a shared ancestor.
About Japanese Cat Names If you're not conversant in the Japanese language, it can feel a touch confusing to navigate initially.
This is because there are three different alphabets wont to write in Japanese: katakana, hiragana, and kanji.
Which alphabet is employed, and whether it's syllabic or symbolic, can affect the Japanese cat names meaning.
If you've got seen equivalent Japanese names meaning cat given different meanings, this is often likely the rationale why.
Short Names are Best Regardless of which alphabet you employ, you'll notice most Japanese cat names are short.
This will add your favor during training since a team of Japanese researchers recently revealed proof that cats can learn and recognize their names.
Picking a brief, percussive name that sounds unlike common commands or other loved one names (including other pets) will help your new kitty learn his or her name quickly.

Next up is this large portion of Fish Head Curry; a whole angoli fish or Emperor Red Snapper (Lutjanus sebae) semi-stewed in a rich, thick orange curry with assorted vegetables and a generous helping of Indian spices. The final result is a aromatic and fragrant dish with mellowed spiciness, good to go with the Dum Biryani Rice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, you can’t have biryani rice without the mutton (at least for me). The delicious soft tender chunks of lamb meat in the Mutton Masala comes cooked in Indian style spiced onion tomato gravy. While the Mysore Mutton is prepared with dry red chilli and cashew nuts served on a piece of banana leaf.

Chicken 65 is a spicy, deep-fried chicken dish originating from Hotel Buhari, Chennai in India. The flavour of the dish can be attributed to red chillies but the exact set of ingredients for the recipe can vary. It can be prepared using boneless or bone-in chicken and is usually served with onion and lemon garnish. As the why this dish is named Chicken 65? Although Chicken 65 is well established as being the invention of A.M Buhari of the Buhari Hotel chain, its popularity as a dish has spawned several myths about its origin. One account claims that the dish emerged as a simple meal solution for Indian soldiers in 1965. Another account claims that it is a dish containing 65 chilli peppers devised by an enterprising hotelier. It is also claimed to relate to a requirement for the meat to be from 65-day-old chickens. Still others claim that it means 65 pieces of chicken. Unfortunately, while the chicken is flavourful, it is also dry so this just doesn’t cut it for me.

While the rest of my colleagues took the Lime Juice, I went for Chendol, an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. It is commonly found in many countries throughout Southeast Asia. Next to the green jelly, additional toppings might be added, including diced jackfruit, sweetened red azuki beans, or durian. Was told that they ran out of red beans for my Chendol but I still went ahead with the order and was glad that I did. The cold fragrant coconut milk and sweetness of the gula melaka syrup is enough to brighten up this dessert.

Before I sign off, here is a photo of Deepavali Light Up 2019 in Little India. As one of the major cultural festivals in Singapore, Deepavali (also known as “Diwali” or the “Festival of Lights”) is a celebration that marks the triumph of good over evil.

Essential Japanese Seasonal Decorations - Spring
Seasonality: All Spring/ February - April
Japanese Name: Wagashi - Dorayaki & Sanshoku Dango
English Name: Traditional Japanese Confectionery - Grilled Gong & Tri-Color Dumplings
Dorayaki (どら焼き), which means “grilled gong,” is a type of Japanese confection, а red-bean pancake which consists of two small pancake-like patties made from castella wrapped around a filling of sweet Azuki red bean paste. The original Dorayaki consisted of only one layer. Its current shape was invented in 1914 by Usagiya in the Ueno district of Tokyo. In Japanese, dora means "gong", and because of the similarity of the shapes, this is probably the origin of the name of the sweet. Legend has it that the first Dorayaki were made when a samurai named Benkei forgot his gong (dora) upon leaving a farmer’s home where he was hiding and the farmer subsequently used the gong to fry the pancakes, thus the name Dorayaki.
Hanami dango (花見団子, or Cherry Viewing Dumplings), also known as Sanshoku Dango (三色団子, or Tri-Color Dumplings), is a rice paste dessert named after the popular Japanese tradition of hanami (花見), literally flower viewing. Hanami dates back to the Nara Period (710–794) or possibly Heian Period (794–1185 A.D), and remains a beloved national pastime today. Hanami gatherings usually take place around late March in Kyūshū, the southernmost (and hottest) prefecture of Japan, and as late as mid-May in the northernmost (and coldest) prefecture, Hokkaidō. No matter what prefecture you choose for hanami, however, the blossoms only last for a week or two. In hanami dango, the pink represents the cherry blossoms during hanami season, the white represents the remaining snow on the ground, and green represents the grass beginning to sprout in Spring. The proverb hana yori dango (花より団子), or “dango rather than flowers” points to dango’s popularity—most people attend cherry blossom viewing parties for the food rather than the flowers!

Hello. Have you heard of Touken Ranbu? The game is filled with daddies. It’s so good. The art is really good. There are like young to older daddies in there. My favourite is red bean dad. Known as Azuki because his name literally means red bean and he makes desserts. Also a sweet dad. I love him a lot. There’s a glimpse of tit tease in his yukata and internal affairs outfit. And his shirt is unbutton when damaged. He’s damn muscular and ripped and cute. Gotta love a sweet man.
sorry for seeing this so late! As for Touken Ranbu i want Tonbonkiri to crush my head between his pecs.
another Anon asked me this a few days ago too lol. Glad to see it recommended so well!

edited 11/8/2017 __________
The pen that was once in your hands landed with a soft thud on your workbook, uncapped. You had tossed it down with an irritated growl, upset about a certain mathematics equation that seemed simple enough to solve yet it had twisted you in circles for the past 10 minutes. It was driving you mad.
Just as you were about to give up studying as a whole, your best friend, Sujin seemed to sense your mood was off and called you.
“Hey!” She greeted enthusiastically before you had even said a word. “Remember that new… well two month old cafe everyone at school was talking about? The one with the insanely good coffee and really good looking baristas? I’m having trouble with homework too, want to meet there? Its like a 2 minute walk from your house anyways.”
“Uh, sure. Okay. Dress cute.” You mumbled, almost too tired for words but the prospect of good coffee AND cute boys made your feet move a little faster.
“Okay! See you then.”
Beep.
Your homework glared at you, the mountains of papers seemed to grow by the second. You had to finish them, this was a good chance. You were killing three… or four birds with one stone.
It was rather late when you arrived at the coffee shop but lucky for you, it was those kinds that stayed open until 2am. The lighting was rather dim and ambient around the seating area but you were almost blinded by the spotlights at the front of the shop.
However, if it weren’t for those lights, you wouldn’t have noticed the incredibly handsome barista who was currently taking an order.
His smile seemed to illuminate the room, his hair looked fluffy and softer than swan feathers. The man’s eyes twinkled as he beamed brightly.
You were stunned by his beauty to say the least.
So as to not seem like a freak, you forced your legs to move, to unroot from your spot in the middle of the entire shop to where Sujin sat, her table nearly hidden by books. The cafe was pretty crowded, she was lucky to be able to clinch a booth. You had a feeling the both of you were going to be here until closing time. College was hard work.
Sujin smirked as you approached, settling your things down beside her. She reached over and grabbed your forearm as you moved to take your wallet. “So, you think he’s cute?”
You furrowed your brow, faking confusion but she had been your friend for the longest time and saw right through your facade.
“Well, I don’t know much about him but his name is Minhyun. He’s in the music course with Sungwoon, he works here almost every day and yes, he is single.” She winked, taking a sip of her iced vanilla latte. It seemed to satisfy her tastebuds, that made you look forward to getting one too.
You blinked once, staring blankly at her. “I didn’t need that information though…What are you-”
“I saw the way you looked at him. Your heart jumped. Did it not?” Sujin smiled smugly. “Did it not? Hmm?”
A blush filled your cheeks as you bonked your wallet gently on her head, chuckling while trying to remain a calm composure. Now that you pondered about it, you had seem his handsome face sometimes in between classes. He must know Ha Sungwoon and Ong Seongwoo, two of your other friends in the music course.
Perhaps I could ask Sungwoon about him….
Shaking your head, you banished all the odd thoughts from your mind and walked forward into the queue. Sujin tapped away on her phone and you hoped she wasn’t texting Sungwoon or Seongwoo about Minhyun. If she did…you weren’t sure what would happen to her after you were done with her.
Sujin owes me a coffee. Ugh…should I get a strawberry cappuccino or a regular latte with requested foam art?
The customer in front of you ordered a iced matcha latte so you figured those must be pretty good.
“And… your name is?”
Oh my god, it was a place where they asked for your name. Sometimes I really hate this concept.
“Oh come on hyung, we live next door to each other,” the youth in front of you whined.
Minhyun laughed, scribbling down the boy’s name. “Okay, one iced green tea latte for Lee Daewhi. Hi, what can I get for you today?” He smiled at you.
You felt your steps falter as you approached the counter, it was suffocating to be in the presence of Minhyun’s beauty. On top of that, he seemed to have a nice and friendly personality.
“Uh…uh, um. What do you recommend?” You blurted out after a series of incoherent stuttering, your cheeks flushed red right after realisation hit you like a truck. “Sorry, that was so dumb of me.”
“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it,” Minhyun reassured, he put his pen to his lips, deep in thought. “If you like tea I really recommend The Sunset which is pomegranate, mango and peach tea combined. Hmm…what Daewhi ordered is a personal favourite, especially with azuki beans and chocolate sauce. Uhh, my friends seem to like the macchiatos but Bae Jinyoung is in charge of making those today and I would advise against trusting him.” ( rmb when everyone felt played bc Baejin tricked all of them hehe ) Minhyun drummed his hands on the counter, lips pursing as he thought hard. “What about a secret menu drink?”
That caught your attention, you looked at him with wide eyes. “Really? You’d do that?”
Minhyun nodded. “Yeah, of course. I can hone my barista skills. Give me a minute or two. Jisung hyung!” Another man came running from the kitchen, drying his hands on his apron and taking over Minhyun’s job at the cashier. He winked at Minhyun suggestively causing the him to roll his eyes and shake his head.
“Thank you!” You called cheerfully as you watched Minhyun gather several ingredients, he smiled but didn’t take his focus off his task. The sweet gesture made you blush and your heart fluttered madly in your chest. It was such a random yet genuine offer. Your face didn’t cool down even after you returned to your seat despite how dim the lighting around there was. Sujin resorted to fanning your face lightly with a stack of worksheets as she giggled.
“Oh my god…oh my god……Y/N finally has a crush!”
You pressed your lips together, the sweet taste of the secret drink Minhyun had created still lingered on your tongue. You remembered how he had came up to your booth and asked for your name, bashfully, ears tinging pink before retreating back to the safety of his bar and hastily scribbling your name on a plastic cup. Sujin had found it adorable, she teased you all night long and it was hard to tolerate but at least you got through majority of your papers. Last night felt like a good dream but the washed plastic cup that sat on your nightstand with your name on it kept you in check.
It was around closing time when Sujin decided enough was enough and packed up despite your protests, she dragged you out of there insisting you had worked hard enough. Minhyun was nowhere to be seen and you sighed in disappointment but acknowledged the fact that he too needed his rest.
Buzz. Buzz.
9.23 am
Sujin: guess what ;) You: what Sujin: sungwoon says minhyun’s single but looking ard ;) You: k so? Sujin: damnit girl take ur chance Sujin: i think you two wld make a good couple You: thanks but no thanks
10 am Sujin: want to go out today? movies? You: wish i cld :((( but i need to finish my work Sujin: aww okie :( gd luck bby
Truthfully, you were going to spend the day at the coffee shop your cute barista worked at, studying of course.
“Hey! Uh, uh… Y/N! Secret drink girl, hello,” Minhyun greeted cheerfully when he spotted you entering the shop. “So? Are you up for another off menu surprise?”
You giggled, blushing as you hung your tote bag on your chair. There weren’t many people today, good.
“Surprise me,” you said, winking and surprising yourself at your boldness.
Minhyun seemed… shocked yet undaunted, he appeared to like you posing challenges. “Okay, no problem. Miss Y/N.” He smirked, turning away to form a new creation.
You too, spun away to face your books. The constant whirring and mixing of different machines kept you from concentrating, the sounds only added to the excitement and anticipation. You heard the telltale steps on Minhyun and pretended to be deep in thought when he placed the mug on your table with great precision. Your gaze met his.
“Hey, I hope you like it. By the way….we have never met formally, so, hello. I’m Hwang Minhyun. I think I’ve seen you hanging out with Ha Sungwoon?” He bowed slightly out of respect which you returned.
“Yes! Sungwoon and Seongwoo are my friends so I suppose you have seen me before. Thank you, my name is Y/N,” you replied albeit it was a lame one, you were glad you hadn’t tripped over your words. Your eyes widened when Minhyun slid into the seat across from you.
“It’s off peak right now and I think I should give Baejin a bit of experience. Let’s talk, you seem like a nice person,” he suggested, looking hopeful. “Wait, try the drink first.”
You took a sip, leaving a minor lipstick mark on the side of the mason jar mug. It was very satisfying to your tastebuds, the drink fulfilled every craving you had ever had for sugar. “Mhmm. It’s so good! I love it! Did you come up with it yourself?”
Minhyun shrugged modestly. “I mean, I was just experimenting with some of my roommates and they insisted it was delicious but I only offer it to special people.”
“You have to teach me something! This is like a need now!”
“Maybe,” he told you, batting an eye. “We’ll have to see. How about you give me a call one of these days.” Minhyun slid a small folded up piece of paper across the table, grinned and left without another word.
Your jaw dropped, speechless. Everything he did only deepened your crush on him. The butterflies in your stomach and happiness coursing through your veins weren’t from the boost of caffeine.
Perhaps it was more than that.

Loving the fact that I can eat Traditional Taiwanese Desserts at Meet Fresh!  . . . Looking for the place for Taiwanese Dessert? Meet Fresh is the spot for you. Spadina location is amazing for students to go and enjoy their desserts while you work on your study, as well as family, friends, and on a date❤ . . . Let me introduce some of the famous desserts from Taiwan that you can have at MeetFresh!  . . . Bao Bing – #刨冰 (Shaved Ice) Bao Bing, which is the local variety for shaved ice. . . “Classic” Bao Bing is topped with Azuki beans, mung beans, taro balls, peanuts, sweetened with sugar syrup or condensed milk. Some of the Bao Bing are enjoyed with fresh fruit, such as mango in Taiwan. The ice could be crushed coarsely or very finely. . . . Douhua – #豆花 (Tofu Pudding) Apparently, Hawkers used to push their carts everywhere to sell douhua, the “Toufu Pudding”. . . . Douhua is a soft fresh Toufu, similar to a pudding. Its Chinese name means “Tofu flower”. Douhua is a chinese dish, originally from Guangdong province; however, the chinese Douhua is a savory dish, eaten for breakfast.Taiwanese Douhua is sweet one topped with sugar syrup and peanuts. . . . At Meetfresh, you can eat as Cold or Hot. If Toufu Pudding seems to you a simple, “old fashioned” dessert, you are probably right. But so darn good! . . . #Xian Cao – #仙草 (Grass Jelly) . . In Taiwan, sweet jellies are an important part of the Chinese desserts. Xian Cao is one of them. The English name for Xian Cao is “Grass Jelly”. Xian Cao is a black jelly extracted from a plant of the mint family. The taste is quite different from mint, anyway. . . . It has a kind of medicinal herbs fragrance, such as an italian “amaro”, yet more delicate and refreshing. In summer you eat Xian Cao as little cubes on which shaved ice is added and sugar syrup or condensed milk are poured. . . .  #Mochi – #麻糬 Mochi – also spelled as Muaji – is a soft Japanese dessert made basically with glutinous rice paste, with a rounded shape, often enriched with all kind of sweets such as coconut, red beans, walnuts..Mochi in Taiwan is also a Chinese dessert, or more precisely, a Hakka dessert! . . I love them all❤ #meetfreshchinatown #meetfresh (at Meet Fresh Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2esa21B8l3/?igshid=fqbotlz2d5s6
