I've had a hysterical thought

Fanfic writers and artists, feel free to use this prompt:

Oleander teaching novice English-Speakers Sasha and Milla during a few years into their time at the motherlobe; bonus if this is an endeavor he decided to take on to genuinely help them but unintentionally comes off as obnoxious (bonus bonus if Sasha and Milla already have someone else teaching or helping them with their english)

For a comedic take, have Oleander mess with either one (or just Sasha, dealer's choice) by giving them the wrong translations

I cannot stop pondering a potential Jekyll and Hyde au with Sasha.

I never read the orginal book, but having dome some digging, my understanding that Jekyll was trying to separate his "good" from his "bad" but we know at the end of the day, he and Hyde were always the same person, it was a matter of circumstances (at least how I see it).

The story behind his character interested me because it involved a teacher Stevenson knew that was found guilty for a murder, a man that from Stevenson's perspective "appeared" to be normal in how he conducted himself; naturally, I suspect the entire character of Jekyll/Hyde is based on the concept of perception and how one conducts themselves around different people (you wouldn't act around your coworkers the same way you'd act around family for instance). To one group of people, you appear as one way, but then imagine their surprise that's not how you act around a different set, as if you were a totally different person.

Such thinking has led me to the thought that the concept of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde could be applicable to masking, stimming, and emotional regulation in neurodivergent people. Given that neurotypicals expect us to conduct ourselves according to their standards and detest the way we express ourselves despite its benefits, we are forced to put on a facade that pleases them to the point that people question if we're on the spectrum to begin with.

Considering how Autistic coded Sasha Nein is, I can't help but consider him in a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde situation where the transformation into Hyde is less about indulging in immoral tendencies and moreso the repression of stimming or allowing oneself to indulge in behaviors that are looked down upon by a neurotypical society. To "normal" people, the neurodivergent person may appear beneath the definition of a "proper" person and is treated as such when the reality is their is nothing wrong with them other than they process things differently. I feel that such a subject would be interesting to explore with Sasha's character and the fantastical, gothic nature of the Hyde formula.

very dumb headcanon but i like to imagine baby sasha loved hokey action/sci-fi movies starring arnold schwarzneger and thats partially why he specializes in psi blast

No no you are absolutely correct, I think he'd love cheesy sci-fi movies and would be able to appreciate those that use practical effects on a technical level

I think he would've enjoyed John Carpenter's "The Thing" and the alien franchise

Has anyone considered a sashamilla alien au where either Sasha or Milla are aliens?

I'm thinking of it like a Star Trek situation where the psychonauts are an intergalatic psychic operation or something and it would be cute to see either human sasha be immediately enamored with cute alien Milla that's his new coworker (first out of excitement cause holy shit he gets to me an actual alien but then he gets to know her and falls for her) OR sasha himself is an alien with a special interest in humans and upon being paired up with Milla just subtly studies her and asks her about humans in general and he gets more than he bargains for as she excitedly shows him all things fun

This was just something that came to mind based on Sasha's interest in aliens and I figured a space au would be interesting with him

Ok so clearly Milla has the vibe of "I woke up like that" but can you just imagine her having those moments where she gets up late in the morning, hair completely messy, and about as happy as a telekinetic bear and it's the complete opposite from her usual vibe and she just physically latches onto Sasha like a koala because he's comfy and safe and Sasha has no issue interacting with his now cranky partner because he's used to it by now and secretly thinks its adorable while planting a kiss to her forehead

But if the psychonauts games are meant to loosely take place in the 80s

I just know if the interns introduce Raz to other genres of music, he'd be a fan of Queen and ACDC (I need you to picture this kid belting out Bohemian Rhapsody)

Imagine the little guy's awe at getting to hear the trendiest songs of that time and then going around the motherlobe asking for music recommendations from agents

Can you imagine everyone lighting up when he asks then what they like to listen to and then asking if they could play their music; could be a form of bonding for him between the interns and the other agents (Morris could get him a walkman as a bday gift when they get closer)

I've seen some lovely takes on the au where the psychonauts are critters and seen some interesting choices for Sasha and Milla, so hear me out

They can refer to raz as their cub

Also please consider Raz and the aquatos as poodles because they were a popular choice for the circus AND are historically water dogs

So we all know Milla constantly uses pet names like Darling, Baby, etc.

What would be her Sasha-specific pet names

The ones where she loving roasts him considering how creative we can get with nicknames when it comes to friends and family e.g. calling someone named Melanie "Melon"

For instance, the one fic where they're snowed in together at the Motherlobe she refers to him as "white boy" in Portuguese and that forever cracks me up because I can totally see her going that's my white boy
