Jaewoo held up his hand in the in the Yes or Yes sign, clicking another picture with the polaroid camera. They were going to be signing and giving a few away to fans at the end of the music show, so he’d been taking as many as possible.
“You’re supposed to take those backstage at the music show, you know.” Dahyun told him.
He examined the picture as it developed. “It’s fine, you can’t tell that I’m in a car.”
“That’s not my point.” She rolled her eyes.
“Why would I make myself work when we get there when I can just get it all done now and then nap?” He smirked.
“Is taking selcas really work for you?”
He nodded and gave her a playful pout. “I have to lift my arm and everything.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“I’m a genius.” He smacked his lips together. “Hey, do you have chapstick?”
Dahyun snorted. “No.”
“Urgh,” He leaned forward in the van. “Mo? Do you have chapstick?”
“Yeah, I have some.” She dug through her bag before handing him a pink tube of what he strongly suspected was tinted lip balm.
“Thanks.” He took it, dabbing it on his lips. “My lips always get so chapped when the weather is cold.”
“I think it’s because the air is so dry.” Momo said. “But you can hang onto that, I have another one.”
“You’re the best.” He tucked it in the inside pocket in his jacket.
They were showing up to the music show in their performance outfits, due to a tight scheduling conflict. Yes or Yes was proving to be one of Jaewoo’s favorite eras for styling, mostly because the majority of his outfits so far looked like they’d been taken right out of his wardrobe. Today it was a pair of plaid pants to match the girl’s skirts, with metal chain details along it. His black jacket had similar details, and his shirt was just a plain black t-shirt.
“They’ve already closed off the street.” Dahyun noted, looking out her window.
“That’s a lot of people.” Sana said. “I didn’t realize it was so busy.”
“Hopefully we can get it over with quickly.” Jaewoo undid his seatbelt as they pulled up. “I’m not letting this all get in the way of my nap.”
“Your love for your fans is inspiring.”
They doors were opened and they climbed out, meeting the others who were getting out of their own van. The air was freezing cold, and Jae bunched his fists up inside the sleeve of his jacket as they made their way to the photo area.
His bag slung over his shoulder, he held up a heart sign and waved it at the gathered fansites. There were a surprising number of people out given the cold weather, but they were all bundled up in their jackets.
For about ten minutes, they stood their taking photos. It was a special episode of the music show, so there were press there as well as the fansites. Jaewoo started to feel the cold biting at his cheeks, but didn’t draw his attention away from the fans until he felt Tzuyu start to lean into his jacket.
“You good?” He turned slightly.
Her teeth were chattering. “I’m j-just a bit c-cold.”
He looked to his side, finding that all of the girls were fighting the cold. They were almost all wearing skirts and crop tops, and even though some of them had jackets, they were unzipped to show off their outfits. Jihyo had linked arms with Nayeon, and the others were all huddling together, smiling even as their teeth chattered.
Jaewoo looked over, seeing that their managers were standing by the entrance to the building, not looking at all concerned.
“Let’s go in.” He said loudly enough that the girls could all hear him.
“They haven’t said.” Sana replied.
Jaewoo exchanged a look with Jeongyeon, who nodded.
“Let’s go inside.” He repeated. “Come on.”
They all waved goodbye, starting to walk towards the door. When they got to the door, the staff from the venue stepped in their way.
“Can we get another few minutes of photos?” He asked. “It’s good for press.”
“It’s freezing.” Jihyo said.
“Just a few more minutes.”
Jihyo bit her lip, looking like she was considering giving in.
“It’s cold and we’re not dressed properly.” Jaewoo said simply. “We’re going inside.”
“A few more minutes.” The staff repeated.
Jaewoo rolled his eyes and moved to the front of the group. “Can you move please? We don’t want to cause a scene.”
“Jae.” Mina grabbed his elbow.
The staff member hesitated. “We really need to….let me just…”
“Too cold for us to wait for you to think, man.” Jaewoo moved him aside with one arm, pushing through the door and into the heat. The girls followed after him, hurrying down the hall and away from the door, which was still radiating cold.
“You might get in trouble.” Chaeyoung warned.
Jaewoo shrugged, throwing his arm over Mina’s shoulder and rubbing her arm to warm her up. “Too bad. We need all of our toes to be able to dance later.”
“Fans probably got a video of you pushing that guy.” Dahyun pointed out.
“And?” Jaewoo tilted his head. “Come on, our room is this way.”
“Jaewoo!” Their manager called.
“Fuck.” He mumbled. “Yes?”
“You’re the ending fairy today.”
“What?” He demanded. “Why?” He hated being the ending fairy. It put another five seconds between the end of the song and the time when he could collapse on the ground.
“Because of that stunt you just pulled.” Their manager smiled. “So make sure you look pretty.”
He scowled as they were led into their dressing room.
“Still worth it?” Mina asked, a twinkle in her eye.
“Shut up.” He playfully shoved her away. “Now I need to think of a stupid ending pose.”

8:00 am.
The ringing of my alarm clock wakes me from my sleep. I grab my phone and scroll through the notifications. I look at the time and decide to get my nails done today, I call all my girl friends and ask if they want me to set an appointment for them to. Carly, Corinna and Erin agree, Natalie and Mariah were busy at the moment. I text them to meet at the apartment and call the nail salon. Thankfully they were open for 2 manicures, 2 full sets, and 4 pedicures.
I hop in the shower and rinse off before starting to do some simple makeup. Instead of my usual falsies I just curl my lashes and put some mascara on. I get dressed in a light blue tank top, a white cropped cardigan, and black yoga flared yoga pants with my white Air Forces. I went to the front door and unlocked it so Corinna and Erin could walk right in. I made some coffee and some tea for myself. After about 15 minutes Corinna and Erin showed up. Carly finished getting ready and we hopped into my car. Carly and Erin started vlogging while I quietly sang along to the music.
We finally got there and checked in. I showed the nail technician the photo, I got a medium length coffin shape with a glitter ombre. After about 2 hours our nails were finally done and we headed to get lunch with Nat, Zane, Todd, and Jeff. We grabbed a table at Olive Garden. Jeff “coincidentally” chooses the seat next to me. Jeff and I had always been touchy with each other, so it was no surprise when he instinctively puts his arm around my shoulder. I still felt bad about the other night, but I was fed up and drunk.
“I’m sorry for being an asshole. I understand that it was sort of a dick move to kiss you while I was drunk” I whisper, he looks at me in surprise and smiles
“I got my girl back” He exclaims, hugging me tightly as I laugh
We eat our lunch in relative peace, a few loud moments here and there. After lunch with everyone we decide to head to David’s house. Jeff, Carly, Corinna and Erin came in my car. We drove to David’s house blasting music with the windows rolled down. Our 20 minute journey ended and I parked my car. Corinna, Carly, and Erin exited to give Jeff and I some time to talk.
“Listen I’m sorry about snapping at you last night. I was drunk and upset. I didn’t mean to be such an asshole. But please talk to me as soon as I put you in a situation that makes you uncomfortable. I just hate being ignored, especially by you. Do you forgive me?” I ask, holding my hands out and he quickly hugged me
“You’re right. I should’ve talked to you. It was unfair of me to leave you hanging” Jeff replies, pressing a kiss to the top of my head
“Now, I got my dick grabbers done. Let’s test it” I joke, his loud laughs ring through my car as I unbuckle my seatbelt
The two of us enter the house and Jeff quickly runs to David to tell him what I said. I knew from the wide smile slowly making it’s way across David’s face. He grabs his camera and quickly runs to me.
“Sage why are you so horny all the time? And please tell me you don’t actually call your nails dick grabbers.” He says, I shove my hand in the camera and laugh loudly
“I’m only horny for Jeff get it right bitch” I reply sassily, David laughs loudly and walks away to film some other bets
“Maybe I should make my own channel” I joke, Corinna quickly whips around and screams
“YES PLEASE!! YOU CAN UPLOAD COVERS AND EVERYTHING. I WANNA BE YOUR FIRST SUBSCRIBER” she yells, catching everyone’s attention
“I’ll literally buy you a camera right now” David says, my eyes go wide and I quickly nod
We all pile into our cars and run to Best Buy. David and all our friends walk me through everything. I grab a Canon EOS M50 camera and a tripod for now. I had music equipment at the apartment. David pays for my things as my friends endlessly talk about what kind of videos I should make. Ranging from get ready with me, vlogs when I go to the studio, covers, styling videos, and the occasional challenge. I choose to start with one cover, one get ready with me, and one vlog a week. All our friends offered to teach me everything having to do with running a successful YouTube challenge. We clear the podcast room and have a makeshift recording session. I quickly scroll through my phone and find a song. ‘Gut Feeling’ by Ella Mai ft. H.E.R
‘Something in the walls
Something in your walk looks different
Something deep inside
Got me wondering why I don't understand
Why I can't put my finger on what the fuck is up
What's missing?
You're distant, and I'm spinning...’
“I’m literally speechless because I forget you can sing” Todd comments, my friends clapping
“Private gig! Private gig!” Zane chants, I roll my eyes playfully and put my playlist of my favorite songs on shuffle
After singing for my friends for about 15 minutes we decide it’s time to get ready to go out. David thought it would be a good idea to kill two birds with one stone today, throw a party for me to celebrate me signing with a label and getting content out of our dumbasses. The girls and I squeeze into my car and head to my apartment to get ready.
“Oh my god Corinna I’m so fucking you tonight” I say, watching her try on one of my dresses
“Good, I’ve been alone for too long” she replies, I wink at her and pick out an outfit for Natalie while Carly and Erin raid Carly’s closet
“Nat this is so perfect for you” Corinna compliments, I agree with a nod and go to pick an outfit
I settle on something a little more comfortable since I’m pretty known to blackout easily. I decide on a red spaghetti strap crop top, a white pleated skirt, and my red and white old school Vans with a slightly oversized leather jacket. Natalie, Corinna, and I work on our hair and makeup. I decide on my usual look with my hair in a ponytail. After about an hour we head back to David’s to pregame.
We take shots and I’m pretty tipsy by the time we all get in David’s Tesla. I find my seat on Jeff’s lap. We loudly sing along to David’s music on the way to the club. We all get in and head to the section that David got us. Zane, Toddy, and I instantly gravitate towards the bottles already there. The loud music making me ready to act a fool for David’s vlog. After another three rounds of shots I become one with the music.
“Where the fuck am I?” I joke loudly, somehow I ended up on the floor while Zane danced on me and I smacked his ass
“Ow you bitch” He slurs, I laugh and Todd helps me off the ground
“OHH SAGE” Corinna yells, and there it is.. the familiar beat to ‘Back That Azz Up’
Corinna instantly gets behind me while I twerk on her. Everyone in our section forming a circle. I spot Natalie on the couch and I walk over to her before giving her a lap dance. David films her reaction while Jason hands her a bunch of singles. She throws it on me while I dance. The mixture of alcohol and music making me lose myself. The song ends and I’m a little sad. Although the universe instantly answers my prayers and I hear the beginning to ‘Panoramic’. This time I decide to dance with Jeff.
“You ready bub?” I ask, he looks at me nervously
“Huh? Oh my-” Jeff replies, I bend over and start dancing again
After a few seconds he quickly finds himself dancing with me as best as he can. Our friends scream as he gains confidence. He pulls me up by my neck, leaving a hand there as he pours the vodka in my mouth. I swallow and turn so Corinna can grind on me. I feel someone behind me and turn to see Natalie. The three of us forming a chain. Which we keep up depending on the song. After two hours David taps me on the shoulder
“Alright guys, let’s go back to my place. It’s getting a little stuffy in here” I nod and hand Jeff my things
I find myself in the passenger seat. Never a good thing in David’s vlogs. Somehow Zane had walked out with a full bottle of vodka and we were all passing it around. Before driving David turns his camera on and I’m too drunk to listen to reason
“David.. I’m so drunk” I yell above the music, he laughs and turns the camera so I’m more in view
“Is there anything we should ask Sage since I think she’s the most drunk here” David says, turning the music down as our friends fall quiet to think
“Sage what are your thoughts on Jeff getting a boner after you danced on him” Mariah asks, I laugh loudly and hiccup
“My thoughts? Head empty, no thoughts” I reply, they laugh and continue asking me questions
“Sage if you were a man for a day what would you do?” Jason asks, also recording me
“Dude I’d honestly try to have a threesome with Natalie and Corinna” I reply, he laughs before replying
“You try to do that now” He says, our friends laughing loudly
The car ride seems like it went on forever. Finally we ended up at David’s house, I quickly run to the fridge and grab water. Wanting to sober up a little bit because I felt too out of control of my body. I chug the water and throw the empty bottle into the recycling bin. Jeff walks over to me and hugs me from behind. I smile lazily and sway to the music David is playing.
“Can we get DoorDash please” I whine, the group instantly nods while Jeff and I walk over to the group
“Get a room you two” Carly jokes, watching me cling onto Jeff while he sat me down
“I fucking wish” I say, quietly sipping my water as Natalie takes everyone’s McDonald’s orders
I decided on a 20 piece chicken mcnuggets with sweet and sour sauce and a Sprite. I blush as Jeff’s hands find themselves on my thigh. It’s no secret that I’m high key attracted to Jeff, but it recently started becoming real that I actually have a crush on my best friend. I realize that all the girls were looking at me and my face turned bright red. They shared looks before pulling me off the couch and taking me outside.
“You have a real fucking crush on Jeff don’t you” Mariah says, the girls crowd around me as I laugh
“I need a fucking joint, yes I do ok” I confess, they scream and jump around and I can already see the guys heading out to see what all the commotion is about
“What’s going on out here ladies?” Todd asks, wrapping his arms around Natalie and Jeff came next to me and thankfully it was pitch black and he couldn’t see the blush spreading across my face
“God I need to smoke so bad what the fuck is wrong with me” I mumble, Jeff hears me and pulls a preroll out of his pocket
“Let’s go, princess” He says, asking our other friends if they want to join, Zane and Todd agree and we sit on the couch outside and smoke a little bit
After we finished the pre-roll I head back over to the girls. We continue talking and they encourage me to talk to him about it. Apparently he has an actual crush on me too. I brush them off the but the substances in my system were giving me too much courage.
“No no... I’ll think about it when I’m sober” I say, they all agree and we go back into the house
“Ok guys I think I’m gonna head out” I say, I had a few more drinks with Zane and Heath so I was back to being drunk and a little high
“You are not driving home like this” Dave says, I nod and look around. Carly left a while ago since her and Erin had a meeting in the morning and I didn’t want to disturb her because I knew I would be loud when I got home
“I’ll take her, I should head out anyways” Jeff replies, I grin and collect my things and grab a water from the fridge for the road
“Can I stay over? I miss Nerf and I can’t go to my apartment since Carly has something important in the morning and I don’t want to disturb her” I say, he nods with a big smile
“Sure thing princess. We’ll stop by the store and grab some makeup remover and face wash” He said, driving to the nearest CVS
After our quick run to the store we finally arrived at his apartment. We got in and I walk over to the fridge and get a water. I hear Nerf’s claws on the floor and crouch down. After petting him for about five minutes Jeff comes out with a shirt and some boxers. I smile gratefully and head to the bathroom.
I take my makeup off and wash my face. I change into the shirt and boxers and head out. I make myself comfortable on the couch while Jeff changes. He walks out and shakes his head
“No, your back and neck are going to be sore. Just share the bed with me” He said, I look at him skeptically but nod
“Finally, thank god I shaved recently” I joke, he laughs loudly as he shuts the door
“I’m not that tired, you wanna watch a movie?” He asks, turning the TV on I nod and let him pick while I make myself comfortable with Nerf
Halfway through the movie I start drifting off, resting my head on Jeff’s chest.
“Goodnight princess” He said, pressing a kiss to my head before turning the movie off
“Goodnight.. I love you” I mumble, not noticing the look on Jeff’s face

[a/n]: Happy Valentine's Day to the lovely @btsracket. I'm so sorry for the delay but I really hope you enjoy it. This fic was a lot of fun to write and I tried experimenting with a new style so I hope you like it :)
Tumblr media
Jungkook was in love with you. There was no better way to explain the feelings he felt towards you. You were his entire world. All he could think about was you. He wanted to hold you, kiss you, make love to you and tell you how perfect you were. He wanted to do it all and more but there was a catch. He had never actually met you.
You were the third year literature student who loved English and philosophy. Everyone knew you for one, your unique fashion sense, because you refused to wear anything that wasn't black and two, your no nonsense attitude. No one would dare to cross you. You were a friendly and cheerful person in general but had a bad side that everyone was absolutely terrified of.
Jeon Jungkook on the other hand was a first year architecture student who was also known for two things, one, his model gorgeous looks and two, his mysterious personality. He never spoke in class and didn't bother interacting with his fellow classmates. Camera in hand, he was just seen roaming around campus clicking photos.
You were walking around campus one day when you saw a flyer asking seniors to apply for a programme to help juniors with subjects in which they were failing. You yourself had a tough time with some topics and it was your senior and best friend Jaebum, who had helped you. Checking the flyer to figure out where to sign up, you headed for the main office. Once there, you spoke to one of your professors who was there, telling him you wanted to help out and he noted your name down, telling you he'd get back to you.
Jungkook had been failing his philosophy class. He knew very well that the only reason he took the class was in hopes of meeting you but his dreams crumbled when his teacher was changed at the last minute, meaning you weren't in his class. Jungkook hated philosophy. He just wanted to pass class and maintain his GPA. So when his teacher recommended him to join the tutoring programme to get some help, he agreed, albeit reluctantly.
It had been a week since you had signed up and your philosophy professor finally called you in, telling you that your partner had been picked. You hoped you got a decent person because you weren't used to tutoring. You packed your bag after your English professor left the class, heading straight for your philosophy professor's office. When you entered, there was what looked like a first year student sitting across from your professor.
Jungkook was walking towards the cafeteria to get some food when he met his philosophy professor. She told him that someone had been found to tutor him and he was told to head to the office of the other philosophy professor. The teacher greeted the young man and asked him to sit. After about five minutes of discussing Jungkook's prospects of passing the class, the door opened. He turned around in shock to see you standing there in all your glory.
"Yes y/n, come in. Meet Jungkook, he's a first year student that needed some help with philosophy. I was hoping you could help him out with the subject? He is on the verge of failing but he has a lot of potential and I really think you'd be the perfect person to guide him" Your professor said.
You nodded at him, extending your hand to greet Jungkook. "Hello Jungkook, I'm y/n and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm looking forward to helping you out" You said with a smile. He gave you a firm handshake before pulling his hand back and the professor excused you both.
Jungkook could not believe his luck. After taking philosophy and not ending up in the same class as you, fate and brought you two together and made you his tutor. You looked even more beautiful up close, he noted as he introduced himself to you. He chatted with you about why he couldn't understand the subject and suggested that you two should meet up twice a week for the tutoring sessions.
You couldn't help but stare at Jungkook as he spoke to you. The man was absolutely gorgeous to the point where it was unfair to be that good looking. When he recommended to meet twice a week, you told him you were free on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the timing of five pm to seven pm fit your schedule the best.
Jungkook didn't actually care what time to said that you were free, he was willing to change and or drop anything and everything for you. Fortunately your schedule matched up with his pretty well so he instantly agreed to your proposal. He decided to be a little brave and asked for you number and you handed him your phone, telling him to save his number on your phone first and you then gave him a missed call so that he could save your number.
But before he could do anything, you grabbed his phone and saved your number as "y/n (philosophy queen ;)" and clicked a quick sefie and saved the image. You also took your phone and snapped a photo of Jungkook and saved it as a part of his contact in your phone. You gave him your address and told him to come to your place on the subsequent Saturday at five before bidding him adieu.
Jungkook spend the entire evening that day, staring at the selfie you had clicked. He couldn't believe what was happening. You spoke to him, shook his hand, laughed at his jokes and promised to help him out. He had dreamed of days like this but never had he expected it to actually happen. He couldn't wait for Saturday to finally get to be with you, alone.
You went back that day, satisfied by the fact that you were doing something good for one of your juniors. Jungkook was a really good looking guy but you saw him mostly as just a fellow student and junior. And besides, you had a huge crush on the college's bad boy Min Yoongi. He was in the same year as you, doing a music production degree. He was just your type. You had spoken to him a couple of times during random parties and flirted around a bit but nothing more than that.
Saturday rolled around and Jungkook stood in front of his closet for what felt like an eternity trying to figure out what to wear. He settle on a pair of black ripped jeans and a plain black shirt tucked in along with a pair of black high tops. He quickly styled his hair and left his house, worried that he would get late. He got to your apartment and rang the bell, waiting for you to ring the bell.
"Hey, come in. How did you know my address though? I only gave you my building name" You questioned. You purposely didn't give Jungkook you room number so that he would have to call you to ask you what your address was, giving you a heads-up that he was arriving. "I met my friend downstairs who lives in the same building and asked him if he knew your address and he did" Jungkook explained. Satisfied with his answer, you led him to your bedroom where you usually studied.
Jungkook cursed in his head as he followed you to your room. He should have been more careful. Having been in love with you for a while, he had accumulated a lot of information about you, some through legal and some through not so legal ways. He knew your address really well cause he came by every now and then and would hang around under your building to see you go in and out of it. Once he was brave enough to go up the lift to your floor and pressed his ear against your door and heard your deep bold voice singing some random song. He was unimaginably enamoured by you in every possible way.
You both sat down and spent the next two hours studying. You noticed Jungkook steal a couple of glances but you thought nothing of it and let it be. Jungkook didn't have a great understanding of the subject, you noted. The first session with him was spend by you trying to understand what he knew and didn't know so that you could help him out better. Whenever he got an answer right or said something cute, you smiled at him which cause his adorable bunny smile to pop out which you couldn't help but admire.
You were truly the most beautiful woman Jungkook had ever seen. The way you spoke to the way you smiled and encouraged him when he got something right made him feel butterflies in his stomach. He loved absolutely everything about you. The moment you said that his time was up, he couldn't help but frown a bit. Time had flown by with you next to him. "Hey there is a party at my fraternity house today, do you want to come?" Jungkook offered before he could even could process what he was saying.
"Wait, you're in BTS?" You asked. Beta Theta Sigma, more commonly known as BTS was the most famous fraternity on your campus. Only few were selected to be part of the fraternity. It had a core body of seven members know as the Seven. "Yeah. I'm in the Seven" You're haw dropped at the statement. You had never expected someone so quiet and introverted as Jungkook to be in the Seven.
"I was already planning to go" You told him. He nodded and left the room to let you change. He fished out the mini cameras he had purchased off of eBay and placed them all over your house before connecting them to his phone and checking if the feed was okay. The thing with you was, the more he got to know about you, the more he wanted to know. He had fantasied of seeing you touching yourself and now that was about to become a reality thanks to the cameras he installed.
You quickly threw on a simple outfit made up of a black cropped t-shirt and black tights along with a pair of black converse highs and normal make up. You saw Jungkook sitting on the couch and called out for him. You noticed him turn around and take a moment to admire your simple yet sexy look and led you out the door. You both walked to his frat house making small talk on the way. As you both walked in, people stared at you and you couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.
Jungkook couldn't believe that you had agreed to come to the party with him. What he loved even more was that you both looked like you were wearing matching outfits and it just made him think about how it would be if you both were dating. He knew your favourite colour was black and that also happened to be Jungkook's favourite colour. People would call it a coincidence but he called it fate. He wanted to introduce you to his six best friends. Only one of them knew that Jungkook liked someone but didn't know who it was.
Jungkook completely ignored everyone at the party and took you to a room inside the frat house. Inside, there were six men lounging on couches and chatting. "Hey Kook, you actually came! Who's this? I've never seen you get a girl to one of our parties" One of the guys said. He was tall and we'll built with a beautiful face. He wore an all pink outfit which would have looked hideous on anyone else but he pulled it off like he was a runway model.
"Hyung this is y/n, y/n this is Jin hyung" He introduced. Jungkook just wanted to spend some time with you but all the boys were intrigued about who you were so they asked you to join them. Jungkook landed up with you next to him in the couch with Yoongi on your other side. The couch was small and Jungkook was already not happy about the lack of space between you and Yoongi. "Hey, y/n! It's been a while since we met, how are you?" Yoongi asked you.
"I'm great, Yoongi. I have been so busy with studies and helping Jungkook out that I haven't had the time to drop by your studio like you'd asked me to" You confessed. Yoongi had once told you to come by his studio and listen to some of his stuff when you both had met at a party. You would be lying if you said you weren't unnecessarily excited when he gave you the offer. Jumping around you room like a 4 year old, your best friend had to come in and calm you down. Yoongi was the perfect match for you. You both had similar personalities, a shared love for music and even liked the same food.
"Wait you know Yoongi hyung?" Jungkook asked you. He was already not happy about how close you two were sitting but on top of that, you knew Yoongi and he offered you to come to his studio. Jungkook was pretty much steaming. He could see the look in your eyes. He recognised it because it's similar to the look he saw in his mind when he looked at the mirror and thought of you. He couldn't imagine you liking Yoongi. You wouldn't do that to him, right?
"That's fine, kitten. Drop by whenever you get time. Can I get you a drink?" Yoongi asked. "Yes please" You replied and Yoongi tapped your thigh twice before getting up. Out of the seven guys, you only knew Jungkook, Yoongi and Jimin, who was a year junior to you. The rest of them introduced themselves to you as Jin, Jimin, Namjoon and Taehyung. You smiled at them and engaged in small talk till Yoongi returned with two glasses in his hand, one for you and one for himself. Sitting back down next to you, he spread one arm over the back of the couch behind you.
Jungkook saw Yoongi's arm slowly inching towards your shoulder but before he could say anything, it was resting on you. You leaned into him a little bit as you sipped your drink and Jungkook was beyond mad. He couldn't imagine his own hyung doing this to him. He wanted to be the only one who was allowed to touch you. You were his after all. The way you giggled at Jin's jokes and pouted when Yoongi called you out for having a low standard for jokes made Jungkook unimaginably jealous. "You wanna dance?" Yoongi asked.
You took a moment to process what Yoongi was saying. He not only got you a drink and placed his arm around your shoulder, he also asked you to dance with him. Min Yoongi asked you to dance with him. You were absolutely losing your mind but you still accepted his hand as he pulled you out of the room towards the dance floor. Nervous excitement coursed through your body as he smirked at you. The both you danced to a couple of fast dance songs before the slow, sexy music started playing. You were genuinely having the time of your life.
Jungkook on the other hand was not-so-subtley sulking alone on the couch. Taehyung, Jungkook's best friend noticed this and got up from his seat to sit bedside the younger boy. "What's up, Kook?" He asked. Jungkook just turned away as pulled his phone out, ignoring Taehyung. The older boy sat there and thought for a moment why Jungkook was upset when it clicked. "Was that the girl you like?" Taehyung asked.
As the atmosphere of the room got more steamy, Yoongi started inching closer towards you till your back was pressed up against his chest and you both slowly swayed along to the beat. You took his hands and placed them on your hips, giving him permission to touch you. Yoongi may have looked like a total bad boy on the outside but he was actually a gentleman on the inside. Your heart melted as he kept his hands firmly at your hip, exactly where you had placed them, so as to not make you feel uncomfortable.
"What are you talking about, hyung?" Jungkook asked. He didn't want to admit that he was jealous of Yoongi. "You know what I'm talking about. You're jealous, aren't you?" Taehyung teased. Annoyed, Jungkook stormed out of the room, only to see you pressed up to Yoongi. Your head was tipped back onto his shoulder and his arms were on your hips. Jungkook seethed as you grinded against the older man. Jungkook just stood there, staring at how your body moved to the beat and wished it was him and not Yoongi you were dancing with.
"It's getting late, Yoongi. It's time I head back" You told him. He pouted but nodded and walked with you till the front door. "I'll come with you. It's quite late, it's not safe to walk all the way alone" Yoongi said and before you could rebut him, he grabbed his jacked and held your hand, guiding you outside the frat house. You both shared random stories as you walked back to your place. Yoongi was a perfect mix of bad boy and gentleman that made you fall harder for him. You were standing outside your apartment when he asked you for your number and you happily gave it to him along with a chaste kiss on his cheek before he bid you farewell.
Jungkook saw you whisper something in Yoongi's ear and walk out of the frat house and he followed you. He did his best to stay hidden and trailed behind you two. He felt so jealous that he wanted to hurt his hyung for not only hurting Jungkook but also for having the audacity to touch you. You belonged to him and no one else. You were his and only his. He could feel a sense of sadistic pleasure creep up his body as he thought about torturing Yoongi for what he did to you. His determination to hurt the older boy especially skyrocketed when he saw you giving him your number and kissing him on the cheek.
You opened the door, got inside, slammed it shut and leaned against the door, your hands on your chest. Heart beating crazily, you thought about the events of the night and blushed. You quickly walked to bed and layed there for a while. Thoughts of Yoongi circled your head. His fuckboy vibe, his gentlemanly attitude, his gummy smile and those dark eyes. The slickness in your panties was becoming more obvious as you thought about Yoongi. Though it was a bit embarrassing, you pulled your pants off and circled the tips of your fingers around your clit from over the fabric.
Jungkook followed Yoongi back to the frat house and headed straight for his room. The younger could not even think about having to look at the olders face because all he could think about is you kissing his hyung. Jungkook opened his laptop on his table to see you, lying in bed. Your pants were on the floor as you used your fingers to tease your slit. Pretty moans left your lips as your underwear dampened. Jungkook could feel his own pants tightening up as he watched you.
You discarded the useless fabric from between your legs and started pleasuring yourself properly. Two of your fingers entered your pussy as you thought about running your hands down Yoongi's toned chest. You popped two fingers from your other hand into your mouth and sucked on them, imagining them to be Yoongi's cock.
Jungkook watched raptly as you sucked harshly on your fingers, imagining that it was you sucking him off. He unzipped his pants and kicked both his jeans and his boxers off. He was already hard and leaking precum. Wrapping his fingers around his length, he stroked in time with the fingers in your pussy. The only thing he wanted was for you to moan his name. He imagined you sitting between his legs with your lips wrapped around his cock.
You pulled your fingers out of your mouth and teased your nipples. Breathy moans left your lips as you drew closer to your climax. The thought of Yoongi's deep, raspy voice commanding you to cum had you falling over the edge with a broken moan of his name. A light blush coated your cheeks as your came down from your high and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
Jungkook was on the very edge when he heard you moan Yoongi's name. The younger seethed with rage as he quickened his pace and came all over himself. He cursed under his breath because it was not him you were thinking about as you got yourself off. You didn't love him the way he loved you. Jungkook loved his hyung but if he got in between him and his love, he would not spare the man. Jungkook slammed the laptop shut and cleaned up before heading to bed.
It was early evening on the following Wednesday when you were out for lunch with Yoongi. The two of you had gotten rather close after the party and he asked you out. Your phone started buzzing and you checked to see the called ID. It was Jungkook so you picked up the call. "Noona where are you?" Jungkook asked. You felt like you were forgetting something. "I'm outside, Jungkook. What happened?" You asked.
Jungkook was quite agitated that you weren't at home. "Noona I'm waiting outside your apartment. We were supposed to meet at five" He reminded you. "I'm so sorry, Jungkook, it completely slipped my mind. I'll be there in five minutes" You said before hanging up. Jungkook tapped his foot impatiently as he wondered what you were doing that you forgot about him.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi. I've got to go. I was supposed to help Jungkook out today but it completely slipped my mind" You apologised to your date. "It's totally fine, y/n. I'll text you, we can go out sometime else" He said before leading you out of the restaurant and driving you back to your apartment. You thanked him for dropping you before you got out of the car. He returned you his signature gummy smile before driving away.
Jungkook heard the lift open and turned around to see you walking towards him. "Sorry, Jungkook. I was out for lunch and it completely slipped my mind that we were supposed to meet today" You said while unlocking the door. Jungkook eyed your outfit as he walked behind you. He had never seen you wearing a dress before but the knee length full sleeve sweater dress suited your general aesthetic well.
You had actually never enjoyed wearing dresses much but after Yoongi asked you out you decided to go shopping and stumbled across your current outfit. Even though it was different from your general style, you thought that Yoongi would like and so you bought it. He ended up complementing you, saying that he really liked how the dress looked on you.
Jungkook too loved the way the dress subtly accentuated your beautiful body. It made you look even more perfect in his eyes. The only thing that he didn't like thinking about was that you wore it for someone else. He hoped it wasn't a guy and the you were out with a friend and just wanted to try something new. He couldn't concentrate on what you were teaching because he kept wondering if you had worn the dress for a guy.
You had finished teaching Jungkook a chapter when you got a text from Yoongi. He sent you a cute selfie letting you know that he had finally reached home. His hair was still wet from the shower and his white t shirt hugged his lean body sinfully. You quickly snapped a picture of yourself and sent it to him. You noticed Jungkook curiously looking towards your phone and you turned the screen off and placed it on the table.
"That's it for today, Jungkook. I'll see you on Saturday!" You said. Jungkook wasn't happy about the fact that his time with you was over but he still picked up his stuff and got up. Throwing on his shoes he got ready to leave and opened the door. "That dress looks really nice on you" He said softly, making you blush at the unexpected compliment.
"Thank you, Jungkook" You mumbled before ushering him out of your apartment. Picking up your phone, you saw a text from Yoongi. "I'm under your building, can I come up?" The text said and was accompanied by a selfie of him pouting. "The door is open" You replied and ran to fix your hair. Quickly changing into some comfortable clothes, you opened the door when the bell rang.
Walking back towards his frat house, he heard someone call his name. "Hey hyung" Jungkook said to Yoongi. He asked his hyung where he was headed. "I'm going to y/n's place. Thank you for bringing her to the party. She's a really nice person and I hope things work out between us" He said, smiling. Jungkook bid his friend adieu and waited for a few minutes before walking back to your apartment building. There was a small park in the complex where he found a place to sit and pulled out his laptop. He opened the camera feed of your house.
"Come in" Yoongi stepped inside and took off his shoes and sat down on the couch. You grabbed two bottles of beer and handed him one before settling down on the couch next to him. Leaning back against the soft cushions, you let Yoongi pick a movie for the both of you to watch.
Jungkook sat back on the bench, making himself as comfortable as he could because he knew it was going to be a while before he could get up. He kept an eye on the fees as you cuddled into Yoongi's side, his arm around you. Jungkook really wished he could saw off the elder's hand as he watched it tighten.
You were only half paying attention to the movie as the other half of you was hyperaware of the gorgeous man sitting next to you. He smelled of citrus and lavender, two of your most favourite scents. Your heart did little summersaults as he tightened his arm around you. Yoongi turned to look as you and before you knew it, he was inching closer and closer to you.
Jungkook watched the scene unfold as Yoongi pressed his lips against your and pulled out his phone quickly to call Namjoon. He knew that his friend was the only person who could help him right now. "Hyung, can you do me a favour? Call Yoongi hyung and tell him to go to your studio quickly. I'll explain everything soon. Just tell him your composition submission got preponed or something"
Yoongi was pushing your shoulder down onto the couch to straddle you when his phone rang. He ignored it at first but later have you an apologetic look and picked up the phone. "What is it? Wait really? Okay I'll be there in two hours. The submission is in an hour and a half? I'll come now, wait up for me"
"Got cockblocked by Namjoon and the professor. I have an urgent submission in an hour and Namjoon needs my help. I promise we'll continue this later, okay?" Jungkook smiled as he saw Yoongi hurry out of your house, overlooking the peck he gave you on your lips as he left. Jungkook pulled his hood up and hid behind the bench as he saw Yoongi hurry by.
You touched yourself to the thought of Yoongi touching you for the second time that night. The way his rough hands layed gently across your skin, as if you were made of glass and the lust filled look in his eyes had you coming in no time.
Jungkook for the second time jerked off to you touching yourself and moaning Yoongi's name. He was angry and jealous and it just made him want you more. He wanted to break you till you knew nothing but his name. He wanted to see you mutter his name like a prayer as you came over and over again.
A few weeks later you finally were able to have sex with Yoongi without getting interrupted. It started with Yoongi sneaking into your English class and placing his hand on your thigh as you tried to pay attention to your professor and ended up with you pressed against the door of the washroom, Yoongi balls deep inside you. His lips captured yours to keep you from moaning too loudly.
While all of this was going down, Jungkook was hanging out with Seokjin and Hoseok, waiting around before he could leave to go to your place. He tapped his feet nervously, a weird feeling creeping up his spine, as if something bad was about to happen.
Yoongi was absolutely mind blowing even in the cramped space of the washroom. He fucked you to oblivion as you fell apart in his arms. When you told him that you were a virgin, he made sure you were okay with your first time being in such a setting and took extra care to be gentle with you. You fell for him more and more with every second you spent with him. You whispered 'God, I like you so much' as you came and Yoongi whispered 'I like you a lot too' back.
Jungkook as usual arrived in time to your apartment. The door opened and there you were, dressed in a turtle neck and sweatpants. Jungkook noticed your outfit change but put it off as you changing to get comfortable.
You were really hot in your turtleneck but you didn't want to take it off because Yoongi had decided to cover your entire neck with hickeys. You didn't have enough time to cover it with concealer so you had the wonderful idea of wearing a thick woollen sweater in moderate weather. You kept fiddling with the neck of the sweater as you taught Jungkook.
Jungkook noticed that you were uncomfortable and when he glanced at your hand playing with the neck of the sweater, he noticed a small purple mark on your skin. He was taken aback for a moment. It couldn't be a hickey, could it? His eyes must have been playing tricks on him, he thought.
You were fed up of the heat and decided to roll your collar down. It was just you and Jungkook in the room. It was a little scandalous but you were willing to endure the judging but not the heat. As expected, Jungkook's neck immediately were glued to your neck as soon as you moved the fabric away.
Jungkook struggled to hold in a gasp as he saw you roll down the fabric of your sweater to see your neck decorated with countless blue and purple hickeys. He tried his best to ignore it but he could feel his blood boiling. He knew that it was most probably Yoongi who marked you but he hoped it was someone else because he knew he wouldn't be able to control himself in front of his hyung if it was indeed he who was responsible for the marks on your neck.
You were a little uncomfortable because of the blatant staring but you ignored it. Soon you were done with what you had planned on teaching for the day and Jungkook left. You changed out of the sweater and took a shower, changing into a tank top and shorts. Your shoulders were also covered in marks and you groaned thinking about how much concealer you'd have to waste to cover them up. You couldn't help smile though as you thought about how amazing Yoongi made you feel.
Jungkook reached his frat house to see Yoongi grabbing his keys to leave. He was dressed smarter than usual. Yoongi was a man who walked around in track pants and t shirts all day so seeing him in jeans and a leather jacket was new. He smiled at Jungkook before rushing out of the house.
You called Yoongi home not long after Jungkook left. You hadn't planned on doing much, maybe watching a movie or something but Yoongi seemed to have other plans. He insisted he wanted to show you what true pleasure was you just couldn't refuse him. What started with just kissing on the couch soon led to both of you undressing in your bedroom.
"Wanna go out for a drink?" Seokjin asked and Jungkook agreed. He didn't like going out often but he really needed a drink. Hoseok accompanied them and they went to a local club that they often visited. Jungkook wasn't in the mood to get wasted but he did drink more than usual. His friends on the other hand got really drunk and Jungkook had to calm them both down and call a taxi to get them back home.
While the sex in the morning was rushed, Yoongi took his sweet time with you at home. He ate you out properly, his tounge playing with your clit as he pulled orgasm after orgasm out of your body. By the time he actually started fucking you, your body had gone boneless. It was slow and sweet, as Yoongi focused on your pleasure instead of his own. He made you feel things you didn't know could be felt.
Jungkook finally got both of his friends to sleep and headed to his bedroom. He opened his laptop and heard moaning noises coming from it. Thinking it was some porn website he forgot to close, he realised his browser wasn't open. What was open though, was the camera feed from your house. Panic rising in Jungkook's system, he opened the application to see Yoongi over you, making love to you and he saw red.
You both cuddled in bed afterwards with Yoongi's body pressed against yours, his hand playing with your hair. He had helped you clean up which ended up with you two showering together. Though you didn't have sex in there, it felt oddly intimate and you really enjoyed it He hummed a random song, lulling you to sleep.
Papers flew around and things were thrown here and there as Jungkook tried to control his anger. He had to get rid of Yoongi. That was the only way this was going to work. That was the only way Jungkook was going to have you to himself, just like he wanted. Putting in his shoes, he rushed out of the house to buy a couple of things. Yoongi needed to go, as soon as possible.
The next few days went well especially between you and Yoongi. He would crash often at your place and finally asked you out properly. You both went on a few dates and did silly things together. You could feel yourself falling for him, fast. You had a class with Jungkook about a week after Yoongi first slept with you. It went normally, though Jungkook was a bit more quite than usual.
During the class at your place, Jungkook looked for a single opportunity to grab your phone and that came when you went to grab a snack from the kitchen. He quickly sent a text to Yoongi from it, asking him to come over to your place at three the next day. He replied with a simple 'okay' and Jungkook quickly deleted both the original text and Yoongi's reply just before you walked back into the room.
The next day, you were busy with classes and decided to call Yoongi over in the evening to relieve some stress. You were just about to text him when Jungkook approached you, asking you for some help with his philosophy work. By the time you both were done, it was 2:45 and you apologised to Jungkook and left because you had a class at three.
Yoongi got to your place at three to see the door locked and something at the doorstep. He kneeled down to see a small boquet of flowers and a note. The note read 'I'm sorry. I love you. Don't look for me'. Yoongi was about to pull his phone out to call you when he felt someone place a cloth against his mouth. He struggled to get out of the person's grip but before he could do anything, everything went black.
When you got back home, you saw a boquet of your favourite flowers and a note waiting at your doorstep. You read through the note as a tear slipped down your cheek. You realised which flowers they were. 'Forget-me-nots' they were called. You had told Yoongi once that you loved those flowers. You tried to call him but his phone was switched off. You were disturbed by the note and ran to Yoongi's frat house to find out what was going on.
When Yoongi regained consciousness, he realised he was tied to a chair. Looking at his surroundings he saw the walls of the room he was in, covered with photos. There were hundreds of them. They all looked to be photos of the same person. His eyes were a little unfocused from whatever knocked him out but when he looked at the pictures more carefully, he realised who they were of and his eyes widened.
"We haven't seen Yoongi since the morning. He left for classes as usual. I'll try calling him" Hoseok told you as you arrived at Yoongi's frat house. Everyone except for Jungkook and Yoongi were there and they all tried to contact Yoongi but to no avail. Namjoon decided to contact Jungkook if he had heard anything about the whereabouts of their friend.
"I saw Yoongi hyung last this morning before I left the house. Is he okay?" Jungkook enquired. Namjoon told the boy about the note that Yoongi had left. If only Namjoon could see the smirk on Jungkook's face as he spoke to him over the phone. The younger male promised to let everyone know if he met Yoongi and cut the call.
"This is really unlike Yoongi hyung. He wouldn't do something like this. Something's wrong" Jimin commented and you nodded. Something about the note that Yoongi left you out you off. You stared at it for what felt like an eternity before Taehyung said that they all should look around town for Yoongi. Stuffing the note into your pocket, you joined the rest of the boys and left the house.
"Y/n" Yoongi whispered as is hit him that the photos were of you. There were so many of them. Ones with you at the local café, at the park, in class, in your house. There were even photos of you changing. Yoongi noticed a pattern spray painted on with red paint over some of the photos. He leaned back a little in his chair to get a better view of the pattern. His jaw dropped as he realised that it wasn't a pattern. It was instead the words "you're mine".
The worry really set in when you guys looked all around the town and found not a single trace of Yoongi. Some of his classmates told you that he had headed off campus after class. Namjoon advised you to go back home and get some sleep because it was getting late. Reluctantly you agreed and went back to your apartment. You asked the guard under your building if he had seen Yoongi and he said that he had seen him come in at about three but he had left for break after that and didn't see him leave.
"She's pretty, isn't she" Yoongi turns his head around to see a man walking into the room. He stands behind Yoongi and places hand on his shoulder. Due to how close the man was standing, Yoongi couldn't identify him but the voice sounded familiar. Yoongi muttered "Fuck you" and the man chuckled. The day was full of surprises for Yoongi as he realised why the voice sounded familiar.
You paced up and down your bedroom trying to figure out where Yoongi could be. You had contacted his parents and they told you that he hadn't mentioned that he would be coming home and promised to let you know if he did come to Daegu. You sat down on your table and pulled the note out of your pocket. Something about the note was wrong but you just couldn't tell what it was. You were about to give up when you noticed the open notebook on your desk.
"Jungkook?" Yoongi said, his voice full of shock. "Took you long enough to figure out" Jungkook stepped in front of the man and smirked at Yoongi's dumbfounded expression. "What is all of this?" Yoongi asked and Jungkook dipped his hand inside his pocket, pulling out a small hunting knife. It had a serrated edge meant for tearing through things instead of slicing. Jungkook leaned forward and traced the knife along Yoongi's forehead.
The notebook in front of you was your philosophy book that you used to explain Jungkook concepts. You also wrote test questions in the book for him to answer. As you read one of the answers Jungkook had written, it clicked. You immediately called up Namjoon and told him that you had figured out who took Yoongi and quickly sprinted to the frat house.
"You see, the y/n that you've been 'dating' I'd actually my little babygirl. I've been waiting for months to get to her and when I just about did, you had to get in the middle and make her fall in love with you. You even fucked her, didn't you? She was meant to be mine. Mine to take and mine to have. I was supposed to be the one to deflower her and worship her body but you got to her first. It doesn't matter though. I'll make sure she doesn't remember your touch on her skin. She'll only know my name and nothing else. I should just take her away to a place with no one else but the two of us. I could treat her like the queen she is" Jungkook said, putting more pressure on the knife.
"The handwriting, it's not Yoongi's, it's Jungkook's" Seokjin gasped as the rest of them looked at you in disbelief. You showed them the picture you had clicked. It had the note next to the answer he had written in your book and the handwriting was exactly the same. "But why would Kookie do anything to Yoongi? When we called him he told us he hasn't met Yoongi" Hoseok said and you nodded. Something was missing and you ran to Jungkook's room to investigate.
"You're a sick bastard" Yoongi gritted, making Jungkook chuckle. "Well I would have just straight up killed you but looking at your attitude, it seems like it'd be more fun to torture you for touching what's mine" Yoongi looked confused. "But why her? You hadn't even met her before the tutoring started" Jungkook's eyes went blank for a moment. He stepped back from Yoongi and turned towards the wall covered in your photos before leaning his head against it.
Jungkook's bedroom looked like an average college student's room. You saw his laptop lying on his table and picked it up. The boys entered the room as you tried to unlock the pc. "Do anyone know what the password could be?" You asked them. You had tried all different combinations and had only one try left. Either the computer would unlock or it would lock permanently till it was professionally unlocked. "I know this may sound weird, but try your name" You looked at him with a confused expression but still followed what he said, typing your name into the password bar and held your breath as you hit enter.
"You remember Jisoo?" Yoongi nodded. The Seven of Beta Theta Sigma had gone to high school together. Kim Jisoo was a girl in Yoongi's grade. She was also Yoongi's exgirlfriend. She had disappeared out of nowhere one day and the whole acity searched for her but she was never found. That was until one day her body was mysteriously found at the banks of the local river. She was brutally murdered with knife marks all over her face. The word "MINE" was carved into her forehead. "Well you see.." Jungkook paused.
You didn't know whether to be happy or worried about the fact that the laptop unlocked. You saw an app open and checked it. It took like a camera feed of some sort. The place that the cameras were recording looked familiar. "Is that your house?" Jimin asked. You knew that a lot of people from the college lived in your building and it was very much possible that the boys knew what the apartments looked like. You nodded as you looked through the rest of his computer to find a folder full of photos. "Guys, you should take a look at this" Namjoon's voice sounded slightly scared as he looked you in the eyes.
"Jisoo had been my first crush. I thought he was the most beautiful human to ever exist. I wanted her to be my girlfriend. But unfortunately, she fell for you. I tried everything I could to get her to like me but she was madly in love with you. I did the only thing I thought was a viable option and kidnapped her. I held her here, in this very room for months. She was mine and only mine. That all changed the day she tried to escape. I just couldn't imagine her running back to you, away from me and so I held he down and carved the word "MINE" into her forehead so that she wouldn't leave me. But she still tried to run so I stabbed her. I tried to keep her from going and ended up killing her. I disposed her body off carefully so that no one would know I did it" Yoongi couldn't believe the words he was hearing.
You put the laptop down and grabbed the camera that Namjoon was holding. It was full of photos of you. Some of them were taken even before you had met him. Hoseok called your name and you turned back to the laptop to see the photos in the folder. They were all of you, some of them even showed you to be half naked. You were scared both for yourself and Yoongi. You just couldn't process what was going on. "Guys I think I know where he is" Taehyung said out of nowhere.
"Once I killed Jisoo, I felt alone. That's when I first saw y/n. She was even more beautiful that Jisoo, something I never thought was possible. But just like last time, you got in the middle and made her fall in love with you. The best thing to do now is to get rid of and then take her. Keep her here, with me, forever. She'll be mine and only mine" Jungkook said. What the raven haired man hadn't noticed was that which Jungkook was busy talking about Jisoo and you, Yoongi had successfully untied his hands from behind the chair.
"Jungkook took me to his old house once. You can't call it a house, it's more like a dingy basement. It's where he had grown up. Being an orphan, he had found the basement to be his safe space which he called home. I found the place really creepy so I never went there again but I know where it is" Taehyung explained as he drove to this mysterious place. You were squashed in the back of the car between Hoseok, Seokjin and Jimin. Namjoon sat in the front while Taehyung drove. You could feel your heart racing. Even though you'd only know Yoongi for a short period of time you realised you had actually fallen for him.
"You're not going to lay a finger on her" Yoongi gritted which made Jungkook turn around. Yoong kicked the younger man between his legs and successfully disarmed him, grabbing the knife for himself. Jungkook was fast though and he kicked Yoongi hard in the shin which made him fall and drop the knife. Jungkook was about to pick up the knife when Yoongi kicked it far away. "So you want to do this the hard way?" Jungkook hissed as he pulled a gun out of his pocket.
You were running towards the basement with the boys behind you when you saw Jungkook pointing his gun at Yoongi. "NO!" You screamed as Jungkook's attention shifted to you. Unfortunately had did too as he pulled the trigger. It was Yoongi who screamed this time. The boys tackled Jungkook as Yoongi held you in his arms. You were losing blood from the shot in your stomach. He rushed you to the car and sped to the hospital while Jimin called the police.
Jungkook was taken away by the cops shortly after. He was charged with kidnapping, attempted murder, voluntary manslaughter and stalking amongst other things. He was tried and found guilty, sentenced to 20 years in prison. The last thing he said before being taken away was "I'll be back for y/n".
You opened your eyes and saw only white. You wondered if you were in heaven but quickly came to your senses. Yoongi next to you noticed you stir and called the doctor. "The wound could have been fatal but you were lucky" He said before letting you know that you could leave in a few days. Yoongi spent those days with you by your side. He explained everything that happened. You struggled to believe everything he told you but the news coverage of it was enough to convince you.
Things were going alright till one day, a week after the incident with Jungkook when you and Yoongi were watching the news together. "Jeon Jungkook who was found guilty of kidnapping, voluntary manslaughter and stalking was found brutally murdered in his cell last night. This was apparently a result of a scuffle between him and Kin Donghyun, father of Kim Jisoo who had been falsely charge for the murder of his daughter. He was to be released since in a few days as the real culprit had been caught, that real culprit being Jeon Jungkook" The news anchor reported.
Yoongi tightened his grip on your arm as you dropped the boquet in your hand. You really wish you could rename the flower's name to 'forget-mes' instead of 'forget-me-nots' because you really didn't want to remember Jungkook. You stared at the grave for a few more minutes before you took a deep breath and walked away. Yoongi held the door open for you as you stepped in, taking one last look at the cemetery before Yoongi drove back home, moving on from it all, forever.

POTO Manila 2019 Experience
I crossed one thing off my bucket list last March 2, 2019.
Finally, finally, finally. I finally got the chance to witness my all-time favorite musical, The Phantom of the Opera, live. Anyone who really knows me knows that I am totally in love with this show.
I first learned about the existence of POTO when I was 10, when I first read an abridged version of the Gaston Leroux novel. Then I watched the 2004 film, starring Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. Ever since then, I fell in love with the musical. I listened to the Original London Cast, with Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, and Steve Barton. I watched the 25th anniversary, with Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess. I streamed countless YouTube videos. I wrote down the lyrics, memorized them by heart, and sang along even though I couldn’t reach the high notes, not for the life of me.
POTO became one of my passions, and (yes it sounds cheesy AF) also helped me become the person who I am today. It’s not my first musical (family friendly The Sound of Music is my first because my mom plays the Julie Andrews movie all the time), but it opened my obsession to musical theatre. Through POTO, I got to learn more about Broadway, theatre, and musicals.
I have my brother to thank for this wonderful experience. This was meant to be a birthday and graduation present all rolled into one. And it’s actually the best present I’ve ever received. Not only did he pay for all of my expenses, he also accompanied me and took my pictures! Shoutout to him for making one of my major dreams come true.
This was taken on our way to the theatre. It was a one-show day, and the play was going to start at 2:30 PM. I heard from my friend (who already saw the previews) told me I should be there as early as possible so I can take a lot of pictures before most of the audience arrive. And since I want to take as many photos as I can, my brother and I left our hotel as early as 12 noon.

I was so excited I even took a photo of the theatre while we were in the car. My heart was pounding the entire time. My head was reeling. I still couldn’t believe I was there. It felt like a dream I had before. And believe me when I say I dreamt a lot for this moment.
When we got closer to the theatre, I saw a big poster just right outside. I gave out an excited squeal. “I got to take a picture of that!” I told my brother.
Tumblr media
And so I did.
Before entering, we noticed there was some Phantom stuff just right outside by the entrance. Aside from the make-up closet (which is self-explanatory), I didn’t know what was inside of the rest of the boxes but I still took some photos nonetheless. I still had a lot of energy around this time.
Tumblr media
This was by the entrance: some posters of the musical productions that toured in Manila before. (From left to right: Chicago, Singin’ in the Rain, Les Misérables, Wicked, West Side Story, and The Sound of Music)
Tumblr media
After entering the building, I saw this amazing backdrop and of course, immediately posed in front of it......
Tumblr media
.....only to learn the words “The Phantom of the Opera” were cropped so I told my brother we had to go back so we can take a proper picture again.
Tumblr media
And there we go.
We went to the second floor afterwards, which was where the theatre was located. And this was when the “taking of photos” spree began.
Exhibit A: Mask, roses, and candelabras. Yep, that’s the whole show right there.
Tumblr media
I’m kind of bummed that they didn’t really have a photoshoot for the World Tour. I mean it’s nice to see Kelly Matheison from the West End cast because she’s adorable and gorgeous, but I would love to see some Meghan Picerno HD posters too.
Tumblr media
Don’t mind me, I’m just posing here with the POTO posters.
Tumblr media
Exhibit B: Ah love this shiny, sparkly mask. Yes, the pic is sadly a bit blurry.
Tumblr media
Exhibit C: My brother told me to go sit down on the floor and pretend to be Christine, but there was no way I’m doing that with that dress. I wanted to put on the cloak and the mask, but decided I should go with the rose instead.
Tumblr media
Exhibit D: “Look at yourself in the mirror, I am there inside!” This is my favorite picture, which also refers to my favorite part in the musical.
Tumblr media
Exhibit E: Yeah at this point I was running out of poses. Standing and smiling at the camera was getting boring.
Tumblr media
Oh, and would you look at this! A production of Cats in November 2019, starring Joanna Ampil! Isn’t that amazing? She’s one of my favorite theatre actresses and I would kill to see her sing Memory live.
Anyway, what’s up with the Philippines and Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals?
Tumblr media
Yeah, what is up with Andrew Lloyd Webber and the Philippines? We just can’t get enough of it. I’d definitely want to watch Love Never Dies when it comes to Manila, even though I’m not such a big fan of the story. The music is brilliant, as well as the sets and costumes. Can we please have Meghan Picerno as Christine Daaé in this production once again? (And maybe throw in Jonathan Roxmouth, too, cause people love him so much here.)
Tumblr media
At this point, my brother already left me. He went back to the hotel while I sat on one of the couches, waiting for the theatre to let the audience in. I took a selfie with the brochure. I thought we were all given a program for free, but it turns out you still have to buy them in the gift shop.
Tumblr media
Yay! I’m finally inside. I was in the second row, which was very thrilling, especially since the chandelier was really close to me. I couldn’t wait for it to fall down at the end of Act 1!
Sadly, this is the only picture I had inside the theatre. I was so busy taking it all in that I forgot to take a selfie or something. I still couldn’t believe I was there.
Tumblr media
I cried as soon as the overture began to play. There are three possible reasons why I did so: one, I can’t believe I’m really here; two, the music was so beautiful, and three, the light from the chandelier made my eyes hurt lol. But, whatever the reason was, I assure you, there were some tears.
My first genuine cry was during The Mirror scene, when the Phantom showed himself in the mirror. It’s just a super iconic scene, and truly one of my favorites.
But the major highlight for me was Masquerade. Sure, I was expecting myself to cry during All I Ask of You (Reprise) or the Final Lair, but Masquerade overwhelmed me. The costumes were amazing up close! I’ve mentioned a lot of times before that POTO costumes are my favorite things ever. The intricately-designed Elissa dress, the fan-favorite Wishing dress, the iconic white robe, and of course, my personal favorite Aminta dress.
But the costumes during Masquerade was the highlight. I didn’t know where to look because I want to take it all in! The ensemble were great, too, and there was just a big fat stupid grin on my face the whole time.
You know, live theatre isn’t that perfect. I can hear the whirring of the machines as they change the backdrop and their heels clicking loudly onstage. I see them spit at each other’s faces. But damn it, it was beautiful. It’s raw and real, which is what theatre is all about.
Tumblr media
Sorry for the bad angle haha. This was the cast I saw my first POTO production and I’m eternally grateful at them for giving me a performance to remember. I was just so excited to see that I’m going to watch Jonathan Roxmouth and Meghan Picerno! I’ve seen a lot of videos of them rehearsing, and they both sounded heavenly. I was grinning from ear-to-ear.
Jonathan Roxmouth didn’t fail me. His voice was soft and angelic, and he truly embodied the Angel of Music. I got chills during The Mirror scene, as soon as he sang the words, “Insolent boy!” His Music of the Night was a spectacle, and his height difference with Meghan Picerno also helped. I don’t know why, but I really love it when the Phantom’s a great taller than Christine. Meghan only reached Jonathan’s chest, so their iconic “hug” scene during MoTN looked really good. He also glanced at me during All I Ask of You (Reprise) as he sang the words, “You will curse the day you did not do, all that the Phantom asked of you!” So that truly “made my night.”
Jonathan also scared the crap out of me during the Final Lair. He was truly menacing and just plain scary. I love scary Phantoms, and he definitely delivered! When he said the line, “You try my patience! Make your choice”, he put his face really close to Meghan, and I could definitely see him seethe angrily at her.
But he gained my sympathy in the last part when he started singing Masquerade to the music box. At that point, I was crying my eyes out already. I hope the people in my row didn’t judge me too harshly! No matter how many times I’ve seen POTO, I always cry during the Masquerade reprise.
On a side note, Jonathan’s really adorable in the curtain call. He made a Korean heart sign just after he bowed. Korean culture is really popular in the Philippines for some reason, and he earned a lot of laughs and claps from the audience when he did so.
Meghan Picerno, on the other hand, was the sweetest and sympathetic Christine ever. Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch since she’s the first Christine I saw live, and I’m a bit biased. Her crystal-clear vocals also didn’t fail. I’ve seen videos of her in Love Never Dies, and she was amazing there. Her Think of Me was just so pure, and her Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again made me teary eyed.
Meghan carried herself well. Not only was she a darling and innocent Christine, but she was also a fierce one too. During the Final Lair, when she said the words, “This haunted face holds no horror for me now, it’s in your soul that the true distortion lies”, her expression was not scared or anything. I just love that she could project a lot of emotions from Christine, and not only stick to one.
She also shared good chemistry with Jonathan Roxmouth, especially during The Point of No Return. The sexual tension between the Phantom and Christine was undeniable. The way they touched each other, even caressed each other in that scene was so, so, so good. It’s definitely one of the main highlights of the show for me.
And, of course, Matt Leisy was a darling Raoul. Just like his co-stars, his vocals were heavenly. His All I Ask of You is plain sweet. The way he hugged and twirled Christine at the end part of the song was also a major highlight for me. Also, he was very attentive to Christine, and he was protective of her - some important qualities that Raoul should have. In the Il Muto scene, when Christine started getting nervous that the Phantom was watching over her, I can’t help looking at Matt because he was so undeniably concerned and protective of her. And during Twisted Every Way, he was demanding, but at the same time, very considering.
Matt also worked well alongside Meghan. They balance well with each other. As a matter of fact, the three of them are great together. It’s obvious that they’re comfortable with each other onstage. The Final Lair was so thrilling, and it’s all thanks to them. I’m so happy that they get to be my first POTO Big 3.
Overall, the ensemble was great! I love them so much, and I’m extremely honored that I had them as my first ever POTO cast.
Tumblr media
Also, bought two souvenirs from the gift shop! A really cute necklace (which costs 1,500 PHP/28.75 USD) and a tote bag (800 PHP/15.33 USD). I wanted to buy the charm bracelet, too, but I feel like I’m going to have more fun with the necklace, compared to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there you have it! This was an extremely long post, but I want to immortalize my first POTO experience. I’m still in cloud nine, even though it has been almost three days now. It’s truly an experience I will never forget.

KBS GAYO DAEJUN 2016
Ok so I’m finally back and I’m gonna update my experience at KBS Gayo Daejun 2016 (KBS song festival)….
So I signed up under this free tickets giveaway to foreigners who are visiting korea and I was there during that period. I managed to get the tickets out of pure luck (first come first serve- I only saw this AFTER I signed up for the tickets) and I was so sad that my friends signed up late and missed out on this show and I had to watch this alone. T_T
So anyways, I reached the place earlier than expected but there was already a huge queue (seats assigned on a first come first serve basis, totally should’ve knew it when it comes to kpop fans’ culture!) I joined the long queue and after around 1-2hrs in the freezing cold I finally got my ticket!! So, I skipped the red carpet etc since I didn’t even know that (I got locked out of my twitter) and I went to the national assembly to sight see with my friends instead (and it was freezing cold so waiting to see them was already bad but the fact that I would need to squeeze with fans and fansites, nahhhh I will give it a miss)….
When I reached there and found my seat, I kinda made friend with a girl beside me (She was a got7 fan) I was glad to have someone with me that the concert if not I would have been so bored there. Erm and beside me was 2 fansites of I don’t know which groups because I saw their laptops wide opened transferring red carpet photos (at first I saw they were shooting for seventeen but then there was IOI and so on…lol)…they were editing on the spot before the show started. With their preset setting and cropping, bam bam bam…I saw it all in real life lol.
I was sneaking around with the camera, learning from the 2 pros beside me. HAHAHA. I was so shocked when the start of the show everyone came out and I WAS NOT MENTALLY PREPARED FOR THAT T.T I SEE EVERYONE SHOOTING AWAY AND ME BEING SLOWASS JUST LOOKED AND TRYING TO SPOT INFINITE. I was quite far away tbh, its so HARD to see them :( I checked the song list and turned out I have to wait for 49 songs before Infinite perform…T_T And so that was when I learned how fansites take photos. At first, the securities weren’t paying attention, everyone took out their cameras and took photos. However, about half an hour to forty five mins to the show, the securities were spotting for people who were taking photos. And of all the people a security caught fansite A beside me, GOSHHHHHHHHHH. I was like omg shit what’s gonna happen… and the girl next to me refused to get out regardless. The security guard have no choice but to give her a final warning since she was sitting in the middle. Fansite A continued to snap like crazy without looking at the securities -_- Okay maybe she did glanced here and there once in awhile. So I thought everything was going smoothly until fansite B got caught. DAMN THIS TIME ROUND THE SECURITY GUARD WAS A DIFFERENT ONE AND HE REFUSED TO LET HER STAY INSIDE. He kept asking her to leave. B refused and said that other fansites were taking photos too, why was she the only one who had to leave. There was a huge commotion and fml, mommy, I WAS NEVER SO SCARED cause I was secretly hiding my camera under my scarf while they were fighting, I was so scared the securities were going to drag me out or A/B were going to use me as an example. I swear to god I was shaking and the way they fought was no joke. B WAS THE EXACT DEFINITION OF TOUGH COOKIE, I DON’T THINK ANY RAPPER CAN BE SCARIER THAN HER. SHE WAS ON HER SEAT AND WHEN THE MALE SECURITY TRIED TO SQUEEZE IN AND DRAG HER OFF, SHE STAYED PUT LIKE LITERALLY SHOVE THE CAMERA UNDER HER LEGS AND REFUSED TO BUDGE. SHE WAS INSANELY DARING OMFG. Ok, she was not that light and skinny to be pulled off tbh. but THATS NOT THE POINT. The security refused to give up, kept asking her to “NAGA” and it was so scary cause please B get the fuck out, Infinite is about to be out in about 5 songs and of course I wouldn’t be able to take photos if they continued this drama shit in front of me. I bet I wouldn’t even be able to enjoy watching Infinite with that drama shit next to me.
Next moment, security guard went to get a female guard. but god dammnit, looking at the female security’s size, I already knew the results, she wouldn’t be able to be much of a help. I was praying, PLEASE JUST GET OUT…… And then the next moment, security guard snatched her phone and she was spoke in Chinese “why are you taking my phone”, asking A to translate to the security to “give her back her phone” and the security guard refused and asked her once again to “NAGA” and it’s too intense, I think it was more dramatic and entertaining than any of the groups performing at that moment, I swear to god I was shaking though and I wondered why B could still roll her eyes and refused to leave.
The security guard was mad as hell, okay he was furious as fuck, he was literally on fire. He dragged her off like literally manhandled her but then she still refused to leave. GOD WHY WOMAN, JUST LEAVE…. (And I got this feeling she already got her SD card out or like her camera moved away…) and seriously this was NO JOKE. The security on his torch (on his phone) and shone on her. That was the final blow and she was finally off the chair. I was like FUCKING FINALLY. She probably was mad as hell, refusing to leave because her bias might not have came out since her friend (A) still stayed. OKAY AND NEXT FEW I WAS SHAKING PRAYING THAT I WON’T GET CAUGHT CAUSE IT WAS SOON TO BE INFINITE. I was kinda helping A by blocking the security guard’s view because she suck at hiding and I was hoping she won’t get caught again BECAUSE I FUCKING HAVE NO TIME TO SEE DRAMA PART 3 WITH HER STRUGGLING REFUSING TO LEAVE BECAUSE OF HER LOUSY ASS NINJA SKILLS WHILE I MISS INFINITE’S PERFORMANCE. NOW I UNDERSTAND HOW SUCKY SOME FANSITES’ SKILLS ARE…-_- NOT THAT THEIR HUGEASS ATTENTION SEEKING LENSES ARE OF HELP. LOL.  Being too shaken by the drama, I kinda forget to preset my camera in a proper setting and boomz, all my photos were kinda blur. FML AS USUAL. IT HAVE TO BE THIS DRAMATIC WHEN IT COMES TO ME. OKAY BUT EVERYTHING AFTER INFINITE WAS A UNCLEAR BECAUSE I LEFT!!!!! I need to catch the last train back and refused to cab back with my language barrier.
BUT OMG INFINITE IS FUCKING AMAZING, I WAS SO TIRED OF SO MANY GROUPS LIPSYNCING WHEN THEY WERE PERFORMING, I WAS LIKE HELLOOOO ITS FUCKING LIVE, I AM WATCHING Y’ALL LIVE, ITS A PERFORMANCE NOT A DANCE STUDIO. -_- OKAY DID I MENTION HOW HAPPY I WAS WHEN I HEARD BTOB LIVE????? THEY WERE BEFORE INFINITE AND I’M LIKE YES FINALLY SOME AWESOME LIVE!!!!!!!! AND OF COURSE INFINITE WAS AMAZING, PERFECT AND GOOD LOOKING, I WANTED TO SCREAM BUT I HAD NO TIME SINCE I WAS TAKING PHOTOS. GODDAMNIT, I DROWN IN THEIR KICKASS AWESOME LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  AND WHO THE HELL SAID “DANCE IS TOO HARD TO SING LIVE” SUCK IN YOUR WORDS, INFINITE’S LIVE IS AMAZING AND THEIR DANCE IS EQUALLY AMAZING EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FUCKING HARD….
Once again, I am proud that I stan talent :)
If I wanted to watch people dance, I would’ve went to see a dance concert. :)

How to make a bad day good, or Spike gets some cake
A proper piece of cake.
Tuesday. January 30, 2018.
It was a bad day at work for fellow reporter Charissa Bryce and me until Ag Editor Spike Jordan rolled in. He came in, sat at his desk and pretended to work for a bit before rolling over toward our desks in his black, high back chair.
“What are ya’ll doing today?” he asked.
“We are going to cover the airport today and SkyWest coming in,” I replied.
“Eh,” Spike said, rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders.
“There’s going to be cake,” Charissa said.
And then the day got better.
Spike’s eyes lit up. Free cake. We told him to come, but he had an interview at the same time. He said we were only going for the free cake.
Spike admitted to stuffing food into his pockets at a recent event. He had no shame about being “scumbag” Spike. The only reason to go is to steal food. Charissa and I laughed. Then, he explained the perfect way to take extra food from an event you attend.
“You need to sew Ziploc baggies into your pants, so you can stuff your pockets,” Spike said with a huge grin on his face. He then went on to explain that, if there was cake, you just pick it up with your hands and smash it into your pockets. The key, however, was to make sure there was no lint on your cake or it would be ruined. It was okay if your cake was smashed. Just get it into your pocket.
He talked about the free food we get as reporters. “Admit it,” he said. “You only cover BPW for the free food.” I nodded and laughed. Free food is always good.
Fun fact, Spike told us. Greg, our publisher, is a member of Rotary, but he never goes. So, whenever there’s a meeting, we should feel free to say, “’This is Greg’s plate,’ and they should give it to you. He already paid for it, so it would be going to waste if you didn’t eat it.”
“Yeah, people all around this country are hungry and it would be rude for me to go hungry as well,” Charissa said.
“We just need to get the paper to sponsor some event at the Longhorn Saloon,” I said. “Then we can all eat good food for free.”
“I probably could arrange something,” Spike said.
Spike was waiting for a fax from Sioux County. He had some paperwork to sign. Charissa asked him if he thought the Longhorn could fax him a chili cheeseburger.
“It would get stuck in the machine,” Spike replied. “And it would be gross.”
The topic changed to Spike’s father and he complained about his phone automatically becoming a Faraday cage. He has been having an argument with his dad about how much his dad looks like his great grandfather. His father doesn’t think so.
“He was trying to argue with me that he didn’t,” Spike said. “I told him, ‘Wrong, fella.”
After going through some old pictures with his mother, Spike now has a collection of family pictures on his phone to keep.
Topics of discussion ranged from writing a profile on a sugar beet to the ten bags the sugar beet will end up in to the Fort Robinson magazine I’m writing. It gave Spike a story idea for me, which sounded really interesting.
Spike noticed the sketch he made me of Mr. Potato Head was now taped onto my monitor. According to Spike, Mr. Potato Head has some terrible opinions and conspiracy theories. The sketch is a take off of a picture he drew about the Chicago Cubs’ bear who also believes in conspiracy theories.
“That cub has some terrible 9-11 truther things,” he said. “Everyone thought it was great when they won the World Series. I’m here to tell ya, it’s not what it seems.”
I felt the Cubs’ winning of the World Series was tainted because the Rickett’s family owns the team now. Spike agreed.
“It was good that they won and broke their hundred-year streak, but the fact that the Rickett’s family got a win out of it…”
Spike brought up another shitty thing the family did.
“The fact that Pistol Pete shut down Gothamist, the only good community newspaper in New York,” he said.
“I used to read it all the time and then it’s gone,” I replied emphatically. “Then, to be a dick, he deleted all the archives.”
“Yeah, so all the reporters couldn’t even go back and get clippings of their work,” he said.
Note: There appears to be some archives now.
After another discussion about the extra work we have, I mentioned I thought it was dumb to have so many special sugar beet editions of the Farm and Ranch section. Spike discussed his ideas he had, including a double truc of a sugar beet and descriptions of it, he said, “Fuuck.”
“See,” I said. “Spike has the same life motto as me.”
I feel like his has three ‘U’ in it though,” Charissa said. “Yours has only one short ‘U’ and it’s very short, bold, and has an exclamation point.”
“Mine actually has a ‘U’ with unnecessary umlauts,” Spike said.
We talked about other, self-incriminating things, like our opinions on the police, that are hilarious, but better left unsaid. Then, we got back to work. I finished up writing a profile on Emmanuel De Leon, a park ranger at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, cropped the photos and attached them to the story. By now, my stomach was growling.
Charissa and I decided to eat lunch at the Flight Deck Restaurant at the airport. Our burgers came with pickles. We both hate pickles so we wrapped them, first in my used napkin, then in Charissa’s. I didn’t want my camera bag to smell like pickles, so I rolled them in toilet paper.
I interviewed several people about SkyWest coming to Scottsbluff. Everyone was looking forward to finally having reliable air service, but, while they were all talking to each other, I quickly typed up the story and emailed it back to the Star-Herald. Then, Charissa and I grabbed some cake. It wasn’t chocolate, so we were slightly disappointed, but it’s cake, so it’s all good.
I spoke with Tammy Relka, owner of the Flight Deck Restaurant, who was serving the cake. We asked if we could take a piece of cake to Spike and told her our story. With a huge smile on her face, she said, “Sure,” and grabbed all the crumbled and crushed bits that end up on the knives used to cut the cake. Then, since she didn’t have any lint, she took a napkin and shoved it into the cake. We took another, nicely sliced piece of cake for Spike as well.
Spike’s special piece of smashed cake with used napkin.
Charissa quickly ran back to the car with both plates. We were moments away from watching the plane land. I texted Spike to tell him we were bringing him a surprise.
Spike’s poor responses for what Charissa and I were bringing him.
Out on the tarmac, we saw the plane come in. We took too long and Spike nagged us on Facebook.
We took our photos of the plane landing, taxiing through the water canon and coming to rest just outside the airport. We took a photo of the first person off the plane, but couldn’t find him to get his name, so we returned to the Star-Herald. Charissa suffered through my musical selections, as she does each time she rides with me.
Spike attempts to unravel what Charissa and I have brought him as a gift.
Charissa took both plates and put them on her desk. I gave Spike the pickles. He was really confused. He unrolled the toilet paper surrounding the pickles. Then he unrolled some more. When he reached the napkin, he gave us a look.
“Thanks for the pickles,” he said. He tried to give them back. We didn’t want them. Pickles are vile.
I looked at Charissa and said, “Give him his real gift.”
Charissa gave him his smashed caked with the napkin shoved in it. He thanked us for bringing him cake.
Spike is happy to get some smashed cake.
I smiled and nodded at Charissa. She returned to her desk one last time and got Spike the nicely cut piece of cake.
Spike is surprised, but pleased, Charissa and I got him a piece of non-smashed cake.
“Thank you very much,” he said with a grateful smile. Then he disappeared into the break room to eat his cake.
Spike walks away a happy boy to enjoy his cake.
Spike got some cake and he made our day a little bit better.

10-ways-drones-are-changing-your-world
(Consumer Reports)–Drones have been a hot topic in the news for some time. Depending on what you’ve read, they’re devastatingly effective weapons of war, the next big threat to personal privacy, a revolutionary leap in video technology, or hazardous toys capable of chopping your fingers off.
To be fair, there’s a measure of truth to all those statements. But you might be surprised to learn that drones will soon affect our everyday lives in a host of useful ways. People are already using them to deliver fast food to hungry teens in Virginia, improve the productivity of Midwestern farms, and even protect rhinos and elephants in Africa from poachers.
In the next year, almost 2.3 million of the unmanned aircraft will be sold, according to market analysis firm Skylogic Research. And the vast majority will be the multirotor models embraced by apple farmers, wedding photographers, and search-and-rescue workers.
“This is one of the few technologies that could revolutionize the way the world appears,” says Mark Blanks, who oversees the test site at Virginia Tech where air-traffic-control concerns related to drones are being studied.
Before we launch a few million more aircraft into our collective airspace, though, many concerns need to be resolved. Last summer the Federal Aviation Administration unveiled the first set of regulations governing the commercial use of drones, generally confining them to daylight flights below 400 feet and within the pilot’s field of vision. Experts believe there’s lots of work to be done, however, to balance the technology’s incredible potential against the public’s right to safety. “Right now, it’s a jumbled mess of competing policy visions, clashing local laws, and citizens’ privacy concerns,” says Skylogic CEO Colin Snow.
But, even though the regulations, social norms, and tech standards are still in flux, researchers and pioneering companies are developing innovative ways to use these flying robots right now.
Package Delivery In an interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said about 86 percent of the orders the online retailer ships weigh less than 5 pounds. That’s lightweight enough to be delivered by drone. Amazon is now testing autonomous aircraft that can drop a book or a pair of shoes at your home within 30 minutes of receiving an order.
So it’s not difficult to imagine a day when you no longer have to rush out to the store in your pajamas for a quart of milk. In fact, Dominos has already begun to test drones for pizza deliveries in New Zealand. And Walmart is examining ways to deploy drones inside its warehouses to photograph and catalog inventory. The retail giant has offered few details on its plans, but if it used drones for transporting goods, too, it would be a game-changer: 70 percent of the U.S. population reportedly lives within 5 miles of a Walmart store.
Google’s research facility, known as Google X, launched a test program of its own in 2012. In one trial, the company has been delivering Chipotle meals to students and faculty at Virginia Tech. But rather than receiving a burrito in front of, say, a dorm, customers must place their orders at a local kiosk, then wait a few minutes while a drone approaches and lowers their food into a field with a rope.
So much for convenience. The point, says Blanks of Virginia Tech, is safely mastering the logistics. “Package delivery is one of the harder challenges to overcome,” he explains. “It involves operating over people, controlling multiple aircraft at once, and handling spikes in demand at certain times of day.” But if Blank’s researchers can create an effective air-traffic-control system, we could be looking at much more than a cure for the late-night munchies. Cutting down on the number of delivery vehicles on the ground could reduce the strain on the nation’s streets, highways, and bridges, too.
Bottom line. Don’t expect Amazon to roll out mass drone deliveries for at least three years.
Agriculture A farmer using a drone Farmers are using drones to monitor the health of their crops, pinpointing the parts of their fields that need more water, fertilizer, or pesticides. In recent years, farmers have discovered that drones are very useful for monitoring the health of their fields. “It would cost me a couple hundred dollars an hour for a plane or helicopter,” says fourth-generation grain and apple farmer Jeff VanderWerff. “With my [DJI] Phantom 3 drone, a device I paid $1,200 for, I can fly it every day.”
When he gets a commercial license, he plans to put the craft to use on the family’s 1,800-acre Michigan grain farm. Aerial imagery from a drone equipped with an NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) camera could help him accurately estimate the yield of a crop in July, rather than waiting until harvest in October. With special software he could analyze that imagery, spotting crops beset by diseases, weeds, and flooding while there’s still time to save them. And he could then use the drone to efficiently apply fertilizers and pesticides.
At the moment, he has to use a giant crop sprayer to treat the entire field. “With drone technology,” he says, “I’m going to determine exactly where the problem exists and apply pesticide to that area alone. Rather than 80 acres, I might treat just 15.” That means fewer pesticides on the food, lower fuel use and emissions, and more healthy plants at harvest time.
Bottom line. Drone use on farms will become more significant when FAA rules permit certain flights beyond the pilot’s field of vision.
Photos and Videos
Nothing captures a major life moment like an aerial snapshot from a drone.
“If you want a moment to look epic,” Parker Gyokeres says, “hire a drone.” As a photographer in the Air Force, he once built a drone from scratch, outfitting it with a GoPro camera, because he could not persuade anyone to take him up in a helicopter. Today he owns a fleet of autonomous aircraft in New York that he uses to shoot projects as varied as BMW commercials, corporate events, and weddings (including the nuptials of U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y.).
The soaring panoramas captured by drones are compelling enough to have made their way into movies such as “Captain America: Civil War,” “Spectre,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” as well as CNN’s coverage of the earthquakes in Italy and Ecuador a year ago. Real estate agents and travel hot spots are embracing the technology, too, to promote their scenic offerings. And now that drones can be programmed to follow their owners, they’re even more likely to turn up in the air above cyclists, skiers, surfers, hikers, and kayakers.
Bottom line. Images from drones are appearing right now on TV, movie screens, YouTube, and Instagram feeds.
Humanitarian Aid Some 1.3 billion to 2.1 billion people on the planet don’t have access to essential medicines, the World Health Organization says, often because they live in hard-to-reach places. To address that concern, California drone maker Zipline signed a deal with the government of Rwanda last February to shuttle supplies to remote areas on demand.
With “Zip” drones, which cover a roughly 50-mile radius, a health center in Rwanda can send a text message to order blood for a patient with severe malaria-related anemia and it shows up via parachute within 40 minutes.
“We are already delivering more than 40 percent of the transfusions for the entire country,” says Zipline founder Keller Rinaudo. “These are cases where, if bad roads or lack of supply prevents deliveries, people die.”
Similar efforts involving organizations such as UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders and the companies Matternet and Vayu are already underway in Malawi, Madagascar, and Papua New Guinea. Even certain remote locales in the U.S. will soon benefit from such services. Last August, the Obama administration announced that it would partner with private-sector firms to begin testing the idea on Maryland’s Smith Island, Washington’s San Juan Islands, and Nevada’s Pyramid Lake Tribal Health Clinic.
Bottom line. Drones are now delivering medical supplies in countries beset by malaria, tuberculosis, and AIDS.
First Responders Drones can also help SWAT team members safely gather valuable info.
In February 2015, the Michigan State Police received FAA approval to fly a SkyRanger quadcopter made by Canada’s Aeryon Labs for public safety efforts. A week later, troopers used it to investigate a suspicious fire in Jenison. According to Aeryon CEO David Kroetsch, the craft can also be used to conduct search-and-rescue operations, gather aerial intelligence for SWAT teams, and even map accident scenes. That last task usually involves an officer on foot measuring the crash site and sketching the details on graph paper—a system ripe for inaccuracy, given the time constraints. With a drone and a laptop, he can instead stitch together a series of geotagged photos and even film fly-throughs to determine what drivers might have seen in the moments before impact. “That’s evidence-grade data,” Kroetsch says, “and it can be done in 15 minutes.” By completing the mapping quickly, officers can reduce the length of lane closures on busy highways, potentially sparing hundreds of thousands of dollars in tolls for a state, he says.
Better yet, aerial footage provided by drones keeps early responders out of harm’s way. In a SWAT scenario, for example, a camera-equipped craft with a powerful 30x zoom lens can give officers a close-up look at a compound where hostages are being held—while they remain 1,000 feet away. And, likewise, a fireman can fly a drone with thermal-imaging and video-streaming capability over a four-alarm blaze and determine, in real time, where to direct his colleagues and where to help them avoid trouble.
Of course, drones with zoom lenses also raise the specter of unwanted surveillance. In a 2012 Monmouth University telephone poll, fewer than one in four Americans endorsed the idea of having the aircraft patrol the nation’s highways, doling out speeding tickets. That’s why the Michigan State Police have taken a cautious approach, even meeting with the American Civil Liberties Union to review policies, says Sgt. Matt Rogers, a member of the force’s aviation unit. “The last thing I want to do is create case law,” he says. “If using a drone furthers an investigation, we require a search warrant.”
Bottom line. Drones will become a vital tool for police officers and firefighters in the next five to 10 years.
Safety Inspections Drones are exceedingly effective at finding structural flaws, not only because they can quickly and efficiently take high-resolution images and laser scans but also because they can get up close in treacherous spaces, such as the underside of an offshore drilling rig or the top of a cell tower.
Boeing’s drone-making subsidiary Insitu is working with BNSF Railway to test rail-inspection possibilities in New Mexico. “If there was a lot of rain overnight,” says Jon Damush, the company’s vice president and general manager, “we could send an unmanned sentry out before the first train of the day and see if there was a washout.”
With a waiver to the flight rules that prevent drones from flying beyond the pilot’s view, the technology could one day be deployed to spot-check roads, bridges, pipelines, dams, and other public works. That could allow for better use of limited tax dollars. “Even with the same amount of funding, with better information workers can be deployed to the places where they’re most needed,” says Thomas Haun of PrecisionHawk, which offers drones and data services to energy companies, utilities, and construction firms. In the U.S., a country with a D+ infrastructure rating (according to the American Society of Civil Engineers), that’s no small thing.
Bottom line. Inspection crews are already putting drones to use, and the scope of those efforts will increase as regulations get sorted out.
Insurance “Let’s say a hailstorm rolls through Texas and damages 2,000 roofs in its wake,” says Dan Burton, founder of DroneBase, an Uber-like service that connects businesses with independent drone pilots. “We could go take some pictures and then say, ‘Based on the damage to this roof, there’s a 98 percent chance you will pay a claim. On this other one, it’s 80 percent.’ ”
With that in mind, most of the major insurance companies are now experimenting with drones, some by hiring outside contractors, others by sending out aircraft of their own. If you’re a claims adjuster, it saves you time and money, and reduces the risks of climbing ladders and walking on damaged roofs. But if you’re the customer, that might not translate to lower insurance premiums.
“I doubt the savings will be passed on to consumers,” says Skylogic Research’s Snow. But those reductions in inspection time could lead to quicker settlements, and the detailed documentation in the aerial photos feasibly could aid with disputed claims.
Bottom line. This application could be widespread very soon.
Internet Access Well over half the planet’s population—some 4 billion people—currently has no internet access. A full 1.6 billion live in areas too remote for mobile broadband. That means no Facebook, of course, but also no email, no world news, no information and instruction from YouTube, and no access to online commerce. And without a huge investment in satellites and cell towers, that’s mighty difficult to change.
Google has floated a plan to fix the problem by relaying internet signals via a network of giant, high-altitude balloons, but the company is also reportedly looking into drones as a solution. Facebook is headed that way, too.
In the latter company’s vision, a series of lightweight drones with the wingspan of a Boeing 737 will cruise high above normal airspace delivering connectivity to people within a 60-mile radius. Powered by batteries and solar energy, they will remain aloft for three months at a time. The company can’t say when the project will be operational—“significant advancements in science and technology will be needed,” a spokesperson says—but last June a full-scale prototype (shown at the top of this article) made a successful test flight of more than 90 minutes over southern Arizona.
Bottom line. It could be five to 10 more years before the program takes flight.
Hurricane and Tornado Forecasting In the future, when a severe tropical storm approaches Florida, as Hurricane Matthew did last October, autonomous aircraft developed by defense contractor Raytheon Missile Systems could fly right up to the maelstrom to take measurements for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Originally created for anti-submarine warfare, the small, fixed-wing crafts known as Coyotes launch from the bottom of hurricane hunter planes, which often fly in the upper reaches of a storm, often more than 10,000 feet in the air. The Coyotes can, by contrast, maneuver around at 500 feet—right at the dangerous boundaries of the storm, where the most dramatic atmospheric changes occur.
“Instead of a camera to find bad guys,” says John Hobday, head of business development for unmanned air systems at Raytheon, “the Coyotes carry atmospheric sensors to measure things like air pressure, temperature, wind direction, and humidity.” The changes they detect govern how a storm moves and what kind of damage it might do.
“For NOAA, that is the info they have to deliver accurately to authorities in Miami, New Orleans, or Charleston,” Hobday says. “They need to be able to say with a high degree of accuracy, ‘This is the big one. You need to worry about it now.’ ”
For tornadoes, the margin for error is even narrower, explains Brian Argrow. A professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, he has been conducting research with drones for more than 15 years. “Right now, the average warning time for a tornado is 14 minutes,” he says. “Drones enable us to get data that’s going to protect property and save lives.” But because tornadoes travel on land, beneath airspace governed by the FAA, it will take some time to iron out the necessary safety guidelines.
Bottom line. This is happening in limited scope now.
Wildlife Conservation In recent years, scientists at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts have used drones to monitor the health of humpback whales off the coast of Cape Cod, even capturing from their blowholes breath samples flush with DNA that can be analyzed for wildlife studies. The U.S. Geological Survey has also dispatched them to observe sandhill cranes in Colorado. But to date, the tech’s most profound contribution to wildlife protection might be unfolding in Africa, where drones are policing vast tracts of land to catch poachers hunting rhinos and elephants. The horns and tusks of those animals can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars from Asian crime syndicates.
Instead of having park rangers go out after dark to try to catch the heavily armed bandits, drone pilots patrol the targeted areas with their aircraft, collecting data used to predict the poachers’ movements. “We look at the patterns of how the animals move because that dictates how poachers move,” says Bowling Green State University professor Thomas Snitch, who is working to refine the approach. “We keep track of water sources because the animals have to get water every day.”
That information is then cross-referenced with factors such as the weather and time of the month—because, for instance, well-lit full-moon nights are particularly dangerous.
Bottom line. Wildlife protection programs involving drones have been evolving since 2011.
