top 5 bobs burgers season 13 episodes bcuz its been long enough for me to really think about them:

amelia (s13e22) this is an AMAZING episode and honestly a highlight of the show. it has great visual design with the paper affects/lighting and i love how they put clips of louise's presentation throughout the episode. the ending song is SO SWEET and sad and this episode is also great bcuz it recontextualizes previous episodes in a very interesting way <3 one of my fave episodes of the entire show

cheaty cheaty bang bang (s13e11) this episode is less likely to be on other peoples favorite/best episode lists but I LOVE IT SO MUCH its so cute and funny?? louise and gene are great in this episode and the ending is very sweet overall it just has a very cozy vibe and so many of the jokes make me laugh. also linda telling bob "just try not to be..... how you are" and bob saying "I ALWAYS TRY TO DO THAT 😭😭" is such a relatable moment omg

the plight before christmas (s13e10) OKAY THIS EPISODE IS REALLY GOOD AND NOMINATED FOR AN EMMY AND THE HIGHEST RATED EPISODE OF THE ENTIRE SHOW and it is a really great episode but out of all the episodes listed here its probably my least favorite?? i just dont rewatch it very often in part bcuz of how sad it is but objectively it has very tight pacing and i love gene's performance mixed with louise's poem. i feel like i would be more likely to rewatch this one around christmas time but it is a very sweet episode and there are some really funny jokes

what a (april) fool believes (s13e16) THE GAY ROMCOM BETWEEN BOB AND FISCHOEDER IS SO FUNNY easily the funniest episode of this season its so unhinged and delightful omg nothing too deep to say about this episode but i love bob and fischoeder's relationship and i love the ending very much. and i realized what you care about most on april fools day seems to be me <3

snow mama from the grave (s13e09) GREAT EPISODE im slightly biased bcuz this is the first bobs burgers episode i watched the day that it came out but i also love learning more about bob's mom and family and overall its a very sweet and genuine episode (the ending with teddy and the kids 😭😭😭) bob loves his kids so goddamn much and that really is the thesis statement for the episode i believe. also linda is a great wife and her just having a full conversation with bob's mom is a real highlight of the show for me

Hi friend! Happy Halloween! Listen, one of the first Tedmort fics I ever read (and there were only 4 on ao3 but yours was my favorite) was your fic with the scene from the episode Reeky Lake Show. I wrote one of my own because for whatever reason that episode also inspired tedmort for me and your fic definitely helped!

This was meant to be the sequel fic “secret ending” of my WIP The only thing that ever mattered (was you) since I am planning on an angsty unhappy ending. I keep going back to it and I really love it. Not sure if it’ll be posted as part of that series or if I’ll just post it for fun later, but I just wanna share a little piece of it with you.

This absolutely takes place in Bob and Linda’s apartment, I feel like that needs to be understood 😳

Listen…I tried really hard to choose something else. You have so many really good fics to choose from, but this one is still my favorite (I mean are you surprised?)

A small smile, one of his secret ones he held back whenever the handyman snapped a bit too loudly at him, snuck onto Mort’s face with Teddy still otherwise occupied. He, maybe, sometimes, just a little bit… did get a kick out of getting under Teddy’s skin so easily. That wasn’t to say he was a fan of the occasional yelling, but it was nice to know the mild-mannered mortician had an effect on people. One person in particular. One of his favorite persons, if he was being honest.

He could be the calm shore to Teddy’s waves, and the balance suited him just fine.

A shocking twist! I never saw this coming! A surprise to end all surprises if I'm being honest!

This was one of those fics where I sat down, was possessed by an unknown force, then looked up and had a completed work in front of me. The scene where Teddy's locked out in the Reeky Lake was easily the funniest part of that whole episode, and I thought the idea of Mort coming to Teddy's rescue would be a cute little fix-it type of fic.

I know the show deviated with Teddy and Mort's relationship in later seasons, but I thought this would be a cute twist on why they would still be close despite the outbursts here and there. Mort works with cadavers and has this flair for comedy, so the idea is he's hoping to get bigger reactions from people (live people). And then Teddy is there to provide in spades!

Balance is also one of those traits that make a good foundation for a relationship, depending on the characters and what they want of course. If Mort wants to be excited, there's Teddy to be excitable. If Teddy wants to relax, there's Mort to be calm. I'll admit I don't have essays on their character motivations, so you better give me your opinion on whether "balance" would be a value they want to build on!

Deployed to Latvia with hockey gear for cultural exchange events

Shilo, Manitoba — It was a hive of activity on a muggy Monday morning at the Kapyong Barracks on July 9, 2019 as about 130 soldiers began their six-month deployment on Operation REASSURANCE, with hockey gear and fishing rods packed along with their usual soldier gear.

Members of 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2 PPCLI) saw their bags and battle boxes checked at Kapyong Barracks at Canadian Forces Base Shilo, then loaded onto a convoy of military trucks. The convoy headed for 17 Wing Winnipeg where the gear was flown first to Canadian Forces Base Trenton and on to Latvia.

Hockey, Canada’s game is a mandated part of Latvian mission

Among the baggage were numerous hockey bags, plus an assortment of hockey sticks and retractable fishing rods.

No, there's not a second mission overseas for 2 PPCLI hockey players. Instead, it's part of the mission, according to 2 PPCLI Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Mike Reekie.

"It's a mandated part of our mission task to play hockey while we're over there," he explained during media briefings. "Hockey is part of our cultural exchange with Latvia. Playing hockey is something our two countries have in common.

"That's why this is a unique mission — Latvia is not dissimilar to Canada. It's not a Third World country. It's a lot like British Columbia or the East coast with beaches on the coastline. We're not roughing it [on this mission]."

Compared to his previous deployments to Bosnia, Afghanistan twice, or Iraq, LCol Reekie said there's still work to be done on this mission, but hockey will be part of the cultural exchange between Canadian and Latvian military members. Plus there's a chance to play against, or with, the Latvian national team.

"I'm excited for this opportunity to be part of this mission," he said. "We're able to integrate with other countries [involved]. We're one battle group, but with nine different flags involved."

While LCol Reekie did not pack any hockey gear himself, he expects to see some playing time when he's not working.

"I'll borrow some gear if I have to in order to play," he said, smiling.

Fishing on agenda in Latvia during down time from work

Chief Warrant Officer William King, Regimental Sergeant Major of 2 PPCLI, was among those deployed. Along with his pace stick, he packed a fishing rod and tackle.

When he's not working alongside his fellow soldiers, including those from eight other countries also deployed to Latvia, CWO King said he expects to drop a fishing line in a nearby river, lake or perhaps the Baltic Sea, which is 10 kilometres away, to land supper on a plate accompanied by French fries.

The veteran soldier admits he is not tech-savvy when it comes to Skype and using other social media platforms. He plans to write letters home the old-fashioned way to keep in touch with his wife and family back in Canada.

Canada’s role in Latvia not peacekeeping or combat – but stability

There will be more than 1,000 NATO troops working together on this mission, with Canadian Forces Base Shilo's soldiers becoming part of the Latvian Mechanized Infantry Brigade.

With the Latvia mission spearheaded by Canada, 2 PPCLI is one of four multinational battalion-size battle groups deployed as part of the eastern portion of the NATO alliance in Poland, Estonia as well as Latvia.

According to the official NATO website, these groups led by Canada, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom are combat-ready forces which have been deployed in a show of strength, demonstrating the transatlantic bond.

LCol Reekie pointed out this current mission is not a combat operation, nor is it a peacekeeping role as the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) did for many years in Cyprus.

"It's a stability operation … it's a reinforcing operation," he said.
