Keepin' yer safe and warm
Due to an unexpected stopover, the Ravagers have to set up a camp on a unhabitated planet. And while everyone has laid down to rest, little Peter is shivering in the cold of the night and Yondu, sitting nearby, eventually hears the small Terran.
"What's up with ya, boy?"
A gruff voice called from nearby and Peter shifted his head, shivering and rubbing his shoulders. He looked up to the Centaurian with a sad expression, biting his lip in despair.
"I-i'm cold..."
The child had crossed his arms, in an attempt to warm himself, which didn't help much, though.
Yondu grumbled and let out a humorless laugh.
"Ain't my fault, I told ya to dress warm."
Sensitive Terrans...
Ignoring the child, he turned around again. Not his problem if the boy freezes his ass off. Serves him just right. This stupid brat didn't want to listen and that's what he gets now.
The Ravager grunted, closed his eyes again and tried to ignore the boy's chattering teeth and helpless whimpers in the cold. He waited to fall asleep again. Though, he had to admit that it was kinda chilly tonight, even for him.
Almost dangerously cold, especially for little Terrans - in fact, the boy only wore his thin leather jacket that barely contributed any warmth. Maybe he could...
Nah, he's gonna be fine. Don't care. Ravagers don't give a damn 'bout stupid Terrans.
Yondu still heard Peter shivering desperately under his breath, kinda glad that he at least made any noise by this cold. Admittedly, he had this uneasy gnawing in his chest, whenever he didn't hear any more noises from the kid but relaxed again as he was still breathing.
Great. Now he couldn't even sleep because of the brat.
The Centaurian turned around to the boy who by now had huddled to a bundle, pulled his legs close to his little trembling body. Rolling his eyes in annoyance, the man left out a reluctant grunt.
"C'mere."
Peter immediately turned too, raising his head. The boy stared at him with a glazed sight, surprise written all over his face. He didn't need to be told twice and scrambled over to the man.
"Hurry up, before I'm changin' my mind, boy!"
The Ravager held up his arm, pulling the shivering child under his coat to warm him up. Peter snuggled up to his side, his lips of bluish color, cheeks burning red from the cold.
"And if ye tell anyone 'bout this, I'm gonna kill ya myself an' eat'cha then, got it, boy?!" He hissed down to the kid.
Peter already made himself comfortable and eventually stopped shivering, mumbling into Yondu's coat.
"Mhm..."
And he will deny it later on, say that he just couldn't stand the noise, boy was gonna damage his chompers from all the clatterin'.
Couldn't have let his best little thief freeze t'death, he'd be stupid if he did, now did he?
Hell, he couldn't care less. But when the little Terran lay that close to his body, cradled in big strong arms and buried his face in the warm chest, even the Ravager allowed himself to put his guard down.
There was a feeling in his chest, which he ignored. And he put his hand on the boy's shoulder, just so his coat isn't slipping off and the kid won't start annoying him again. No other reason for that.
And by the stars, Yondu will never ever admit it - even in the afterlife - but he held the boy a little closer that night, making sure he is secured from the cold weather, keeping him safe and warm.

For some reason I can’t get a multiple followers mod to work for Skyrim. I’ve tried three different ones, but Lydia and Deerkethus both refuse to follow me even if I dismiss Faendal and then ask them. I also tried resetting my follower count with the cheat command thing, but it’s still stuck. Lydia won’t even let me ask her to follow me anymore. I just don’t know.
On the bright side, while looking for a fix, I found a really good follower dialogue overhaul. Faendal has so much life now! He’s always got something to say! We just walked into a shop and completely unprompted he went “if it’s my fate to be ended by a dragon, so be it!” King.

How about a ★ for cio or pliarr from variott?
Gladly!!! Sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for a bit, happy to answer it now and tyty! :D I'll give you Pliarr since I've talked a little about how Cio would feel about Variott before.
Pliarr ★ Variott:
I like you // I love you // You’re one of my best friends // You’re like family // You are family // I dislike you // I hate you // I’d kill you if I got the chance // I want you to like me // I’m scared of you // I would adopt you // I’d date you // I’d sleep with you // I’d marry you // I’m worried about you // You confuse me // You’re annoying // I pity you // I respect you // I trust you // I feel protective of you // I’d invite you with me to parties // I’d lend you my money // I’d borrow your money // You’re good-looking // I’m suspicious of you // I’m hiding something from you // You’re fun // You’re boring // I’m upset with you // You’re nice // You’re mean // I’m envious of you // You’re smart // You’re stupid // I look up to you // I think you’re a better person than me // I think I’m a better person than you // I want to apologize to you // I wish I’d never met you // I never want to forget you // I want to get to know you better
First of all, *handshake* between the two of them re: being small even for asura--Pliarr is Very Tiny too. Second, I think he'd absolutely see a bit of both his sister and himself in Variott, and he'd just genuinely like her. He's not the quickest in the world to trust people, but he'd want to trust Variott pretty fast, and the actual trust would follow from there. (Also evidenced from the "I'd lend you my money" one--Pliarr grew up being very careful with money/spending since it was super limited and is still careful even though he can afford to spend more now, so him being willing to lend money to someone else says a lot.) Also, as someone who has to go on missions to various places but really does not have the best sense of direction, he'd appreciate the hell out of Variott's maps and mapmaking skills.

Hostages tortured to death. Parents executed in front of their children. Doctors beaten. Babies murdered. Sexual assault weaponised. No, not Hamas crimes. This is part of an ever-growing list of documented atrocities committed by Israel in the five months since 7 October – quite separate from the carpet bombing of 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza and a famine induced by Israel’s obstruction of aid. And yet while the western establishment media has been chock full of the most lurid allegations of savagery directed against Hamas, sometimes with little or no supporting evidence, Israeli atrocities are excused or quickly forgotten. Accusations against Hamas are endlessly reheated to paint a picture of a supremely dangerous and bestial militant group, in turn rationalising the slaughter and starvation of Gaza’s population to “eradicate” it as a terrorist organisation. But equally barbarous atrocities committed by Israel – not in the heat of battle, but in cold blood – are treated as unfortunate, isolated incidents that cannot be connected, that paint no picture, that reveal nothing of import about the military that carried them out. If Hamas’ crimes were so savage and sadistic they still need to be reported months after they took place, why does the establishment media never feel the need to express equal horror and indignation at equivalent or worse acts of cruelty and sadism being inflicted by Israel on Gaza – not five months ago, but right now? Israel's torture of doctors, its sexual assaults of Palestinian women, it's leaving premature babies to die after its forces stormed a hospital. Where is the outrage? This is part of a pattern of behaviour by the western media that leads to only one possible deduction: Israel’s five-month-long attack on Gaza is not being reported. Rather, it is being selectively narrated – and for the most obscene of purposes. Through consistent and glaring failures in their coverage, establishment media – including supposedly liberal outlets, from the BBC and CNN to the Guardian and New York Times – have smoothed the way for Israel to carry out mass slaughter in Gaza, what the World Court has assessed as plausibly a genocide. The role of the media has not been to keep us, their audiences, informed about one of the greatest crimes in living memory. It has been to buy time for US President Joe Biden to keep arming his most useful of client states in the oil-rich Middle East, and to do so without damaging his prospects for re-election in November’s US presidential vote. If Russian President Vladimir Putin was a madman and a barbarous war criminal for invading Ukraine, as every western media outlet agrees, what does that make Israeli officials, when every one of them supports far worse atrocities in Gaza, directed overwhelmingly at civilians? And more to the point, what does that make Biden and the US political class for materially backing Israel to the hilt: sending bombs, vetoing demands for a ceasefire at the United Nations, and freezing desperately needed aid? Worrying about the optics, the president expresses his discomfort, but he carries on helping Israel regardless. While western politicians and commentators worry about some imaginary existential threat those brief events of five months ago pose to the nuclear-armed state of Israel, Israel is quite literally wiping Gaza off the map day by day, quite undisturbed.

Failing as Guardian and Friend
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: Poor mental health Pairing: None Description: Crosshairs doesn't think he'll be able to help Jamie with her mental health while Drift is away.
@whumpril day 29; reluctent caretaker
As usual, there’s a struggle to get Jamie to eat in the morning. Lightning and Crosshairs worry about what’s going on in her mind. “We should get her to talk,” Lightning insists, “I worry she’ll be crying either way.” “This is what I was worried about,” Crosshairs sighs, “with how her mental health has been, I worry she’s thinking Drift left us. I also worry about Drift. I don’t think he’s unable to not worry about Jamie while on the mission.” Crosshairs goes into the hallway to call Rung while Lightning sits on the couch with Jamie
“… she’s going to cry either way, but I think it’s best you try to talk to her,” Crosshairs explains. “I’m not sure what I can do, but we’ll see. Bring her to my office at ten tomorrow.” The call ends. Crosshairs isn’t pleased the appointment isn’t until tomorrow morning.
He walks to the room and sees Jamie fell asleep on the couch. Despite not being a new behavior, Crosshairs still worries. He moves Jamie to hers and Drift’s bed. He watches TV with Lightning with the volume low, but they can still hear the TV.
The room is quiet for two hours before they hear Jamie crying. While Crosshairs hates not doing much to help Drift calm Jamie, he’s uncertain if he can calm Jamie alone. He and Lightning worry Jamie could be sensing that Drift is injured. Uncertain if she’s concentrating enough to sense his energon signature while crying. They think they’ll need Ratchet’s help.
Ratchet is concerned about hearing Jamie’s crying while struggling to hear what Lightning is saying. He rushes as fast as possible to get the data he needs and Rung before going upstairs. Rung remains silent while the psychiatrist regrets the delay in seeing Jamie. This situation is during the hour lunch break he planned.
With the way Jamie is gripping Crosshairs’ arms, Ratchet suspects she was dreaming about the two mechs abandoning her and forgetting Drift is on a mission. He points this out to Rung. The plan proceeds, assuring Jamie that Drift is fine. Rung isn’t sure how much help he can be as Ratchet struggles to get Jamie’s attention. “Jamie, look,” Ratchet says, showing her his tablet, “Drift is ok.” He points to Drift’s strong energon signature, assuring her Drift will be home in a few days. Crosshairs rubs Jamie’s back. He tries this for a few minutes before standing up and swaying. Within a few minutes, Jamie is calm but still holds onto Crosshairs’ arms tightly. While texting, Lightning asks Jamie if she wants to go watch a movie with the other femme Autobots. The four in the room worry Jamie is thinking Crosshairs will leave if she goes elsewhere. Crosshairs assures her he’s not going anywhere as he wipes her tears. Jamie loosens her grip and Lightning takes her from Crosshairs. She carries Jamie out of the room.
Crosshairs warns against mentioning this to Optimus, as the conversation won’t end well. “Optimus doesn’t want to tell Jamie she can’t come here,” Ratchet assures him, “the most he’d do is decide you and Drift won’t go on missions.” “That’s the problem. Drift thinks that shouldn’t happen because we’re soldiers, even with the infrequent Deception attacks. Prime hasn’t told us we must help rebuild Cybertron, which I hope he’s not because of Jamie. I worry about Drift’s mental health while he’s away. I know he worries about Jamie. When Jamie’s mental health is better, she’ll worry about why Drift and I don’t work our shifts or go on missions. We can’t avoid battle should the Decepticons attack anywhere on Earth.” “It’s necessary for the two of you to talk to Optimus. If Drift is showing he’s not doing well mentally, Optimus will insist on talking to you two. I know you two talked to Rung already, but you two should talk to him more often.” “I know this is affecting our mental health. We can’t believe how bad hers is,” Crosshairs sighs, frustrated, “there’s also when Jamie is doing better mentally, you know she’d worry about Drift and I bit working. Add if she realizes we haven’t gone on any missions. That could likely cause further mental decline again.” “Optimus knows this is a challenge.” “Something else is troubling you,” Rung suspects. Crosshairs sighs, “I have felt like I don’t help when Jamie is upset. Now it was just me trying to calm her, and I felt like I couldn’t. I don’t think I help Drift at all.” “You know that’s not true,” Ratchet argues, “you know Drift would argue you help him. You both help Jamie. Her mental health is scrap. This is the worst I’ve seen it. Her nightmares are fueled by her fears. With that, she didn’t remember Drift was on a mission.” “I’m so sick of all we can do is keep her safe and ensure she’s eating. I hate watching her struggle,” Crosshairs rants. Ratchet and Rung know how challenging Jamie’s mental health currently is. Ratchet knows Rung hates be can’t help her and is little help for Crosshairs and Drift. With nothing left to say, they leave. Crosshairs moves to the couch, hoping watching TV will be relaxing. Still feeling like he didn’t help Jamie. He feels like he is failing being Jamie’s guardian. He and Drift know they have been more like caretakers even if they say they’re friends worried about their friend and trying to help her. No matter what anyone calls his relationship with Jamie, Crosshairs feels like he failed her.
