i recently read the serendipity gospels, heard it was very popular in hs fandom

once more thinking about the relationship between tsg and the locked tomb..... it's so cool how in remixing homestuck tamsyn introduced these seeds of ideas she liked that we then saw fully developed in her own work. in particular i've been thinking about the evolution of the subjugglator/legislacerator pairing into the necromancer/cavalier union (also some influence from the vienna game there???) and the origin of tlt bone nun religion in the superficially similar homestuck juggalo religion. i also recently noticed this line in tsg (in gamzee's pov, about karkat):

You would know him in a dark room. In a blind light would you know him.

which likely inspired one of my favourite lines from tlt (gideon saint of duty talking to wake):

I would know you in the blindness of my eyes… in the deafness of my ears…

it's a type of analysis you don't get to do often, and i love how it feels like finding easter eggs that give you an insight into where these ideas came from

i find it fasinating how similar tlt and tazmins previous work, the sereindipity gospels is so im making a compare and contras document. i think theres a lot to speculate about how alecto might go based on tsg( not that theyll all die at the end... please )but i dont have the brain. i do have the knowedge of vagely how tsg went though. i put commenting on in case i forgot something (like what the forth house secializes in)

I wanna write up a little post about how Chahut is a reference to the epic Gamzee/Terezi fanfic, The Serendipity Gospels, by Shelby craggy and urbanancharite. (Shelby did help come up with her design, after all.)
