Watching the steaming water makes him nervous.

Not because of the bath itself, but because you're insistent on looking after him— when Love1 would rather you don't realize that needs to be looked after at all.

But you know, now. You've figured out that he never really stops hurting, and instead of using that knowledge against him, you're fussing over every possible way to ease the aches. There's a hot bath in front of him because you care.

"I'll leave the room now," you say, as if you know exactly why he doesn't want you seeing his scrawny, bruised body.

Love1 still gives you a beaming thanks, grinning in a feeble attempt to cover up how unsteady he feels. Then, you're gone, and he's alone with the bathtub and his shame.

He gets in anyway.

It feels every bit as good as he'd expected. The heat on his sore body is utter bliss, leaving him shivering, eyes closed, no matter how badly he wants to stay on guard. Military bathing arrangements are far from comfortable, but this—

Somehow, Love1's mind wanders to what it would have been like if you'd stayed. If you'd wanted to sit beside him and fill the room with chatter so he wouldn't be left to think.

The fact that he wants that scenario— you by his side— might be the most disturbing part of all of this.

I've been reading the original Thousand Noble Musketeers game, and I am obsessed with their expressions🤣😭😭

Khari - The giants that ruled the Earth, more than a hundred thousands years ago.

Average height - 3 meters. Life expectancy - about three hundred solar years, with the fifty year old khari being considerate adults. Khari are hermaphrodites, who procreate by laying up to five eggs. The young(Kharling) upbringing is seen as a communal task. Their most notable physical characteristic are four arms. Two upper arms are vary in their size, as those members have, atrophied in the lineages of the castes which were not akin to a manual labour. The lower pair of arms as well as legs, in case if they were severed are known to be capable of slow regeneration, some times with the loss of limbs mobility or sensitivity.

They came aboard the gigantic colony ships - Rakhanas, carrying with themselves knowledge, riches and weapons of mass destruction. They quickly became the sovereigns of the primitive world, partially enslaving its population.

The Khari society is differentiated into several castes. With the four main ones, each being differentiated into over three hundred castes.

The highest being the Ranakh - Nobles, officials, and scholars of the Khari society. The one you can see on the illustration is one of the Lesser lords of the Toakhar House, with its emblem being a white bird on the red Sun, surrounded by four stars representing four families comprising the clan.

Members of this caste usually braid their beards according to the amount of children they have as well, as having one lock on the side of their head according with the importance of their lineage.

The rulers are followed by the Three-Eyed ones - the smallest of the castes. Mystics, tradition keepers and future tellers, they are born with the third eye capable of seeing what the other two can’t. Attributes of this caste are Chuki(Sacred amber beads), as well as braided moustache…

Torratha - The warriors, are trained from their childhood to be proficient with all types of weaponry, with the specific attention being given to the three martial arts - Davan-Dara(Art of the Halberd), Yolbarakh-Dara(Art of the Phosphor Musket). The also trained to wear a power armour(Tayom) - Designed to help them fight in the gravitational environment their massive bodies aren’t used for, with the help of pneumatic joints, and the tube which pumps stimulant drugs into their breathing cavity. Memebers of this caste shave their heads leaving large unbraided moustache.

The fourth caste - are Donth. Up keepers of the flying cities - Enginers, craftsmen, and inventors. They as well work as scientists of the natural scientists, weapon smiths, and transport operators. They aren’t allowed to braid their hair, except for a small topknot up their forehead. The emblem of this caste is an Upside down triangle, or a pyramid - Symbolizing the power of science over the laws of nature.

Workers were the ones to create the Omri - Robots with the Inteligence levels of a child, used to do all the kinds of the work - From cocking and gardening, to being used as a canon fodder, in the wars.

The humans(and other sentient species that became slaves in Khari civilisation) are viewed as the lowest caste - often used to do dirty and dangerous work. They are living in a large communities on the lowest levels of the flying cities - often dying before they reach adulthood by being smashed by the machinery, eaten alive by the animals known as Khro - that inhabit sewer collectors, or simply by falling from the city, while making repairs on outside. Due to being seen as barely above animals, they aren’t allowed to wear clothing, except very rarely a set of protective gear for their working environment…

Lower then them are only Suthan-Au – or a Musk Beast in translation. A genetically modified animal, body of which contains a highly nutritious materials, and being capable to regenerate several times, after the large parts of the meat and fat tissue being removed. They were created for the space travels that could last for centuries… Some sources say that originally they were a civilised race, related to Khari… The beasts still have a peculiar levels of inteligence. They are certainly capable of complex emotions, such as love, grief, greed, or hatred…

Pretend it is the 29th of May and this just dropped. Summary is pretty self-explanatory:

Since it was the day the tragedy ended, his cadet had said, in a nonchalance that made it law, isn’t it fine to celebrate it? So Chassepot had acquiesced, whiling the next night away in one of Gras’ stupid parties with bad music and greasy food, enduring the flashing lights on an impromptu dance floor. The cadet only spoke sense, and it was no good to mope, and he was putting a damper on the debauchery by parading his personal tragedies. Why, then, is he heaving into a toilet bowl after a mere two half-glasses of wine? Ah, he had almost forgotten about the approaching footsteps. Of course it would be Dreyse who would intrude on his privacy for absolutely no reason. Just great. Like he needed to come take the piss, too.

you ask angst you get angst >:D how would kirsch, herme, f, love 1, eins and ninety react to their master trying to commit suicide? like would they try to stop them/wouldn't interfere because it's master's will etc

I'm going to go with Master having been stopped in the original attempt, but still wants to try again. >w>

Kirsch

He completely freaks out with the first attempt, and will hardly leave your side from then on, even if you order him to. Kirsch is plenty familiar with pushing people to their limits, but fixing someone is a whole new task. Still, he can't let anything happen to his precious Master, no matter what. The situation makes him panicky and paranoid. He'll cry over any little sign that you might try to leave him, and his possessiveness spikes horribly.

Herme

Iron isn't supposed to have feelings, but... a weapon should be concerned if its owner comes to any harm, correct? Herme is doing a lot of justifying to himself why he's completely panicked over the whole mess. Just thinking about you dying gives him a sense of fear like he's never had before, and he's desperate to find a reason why he's not attached. And as much as he wants to follow orders, something won't let him allow you to do it again.

Love1

If he didn't at least suspect something was going wrong before your attempt, Love1 is disgusted with himself for not paying more attention. He should have known sooner. Because of that, it's easy to blame himself. He's absolutely going to stop you, both in the moment and from then on. Even if you don't realize it, Love1 now knows that he needs to manipulate you a little— subtly, so you don't notice it, but enough that this won't ever happen again.

Eins

He's conflicted. Following orders is all he's ever done, but for his Master to order him to let them die... that goes against everything he's ever been supposed to do. It feels completely wrong to let anything happen to you, but with you commanding him to do the exact opposite, Eins is confused and almost shutting down because of it. Every instinct says he can't let you die, and yet, would he be a bad tool if he goes against your wishes, even now?

Ninety

The poor baby has a full-on panic-attack-slash-meltdown as soon as he finds out what you tried to do. It feels like his body is shutting down already, like you've already gone away and left him to disappear. When Ninety gets to be with you afterward, the unthinkable happens. As he's by your side, already sobbing and trying to cling onto you, he somehow manages to talk— and the few words he manages to get out are Master, don't die.
