The 1975's New Single: 'Part Of The Band' Out July 7th
The rollout for the new single from English-based indie-pop band The 1975 has begun. After a two-year hiatus following the release of their genre-bending double album titled ‘Notes On A Conditional Form', the band is gearing up for a new era and a new album. Like most artists today, The 1975 visually reinvent themselves for promotional artwork with every new album rollout. This time, the band takes notes from their earlier work and reverts to a black and white color scheme accentuated by deep blues. The promotional images shared on socials depict the band on a deserted beach on the coast of England, bringing forth a more mature image while still paying homage to where they first began. We also received what seems to be the lyrics for the new single, titled ‘Part of The Band’, which follows lead singer Matty Healy's iconic self-referential, post-ironic songwriting style. “I like my men like I like my coffee - full of soy milk and so sweet it won’t offend anybody whilst staining the pages of The Nation” he writes. It’s great to see the band moving forward and expanding their artistic vision with lyrics that play with modern themes and visual notes that call back to their origins.
Look out for the new single out July 7th, 2022; and hopefully an album shortly after.
