A Christmas Memory Truman Capote Limited Edition Signed and Numbered Copy number 382 of 600 copies. A Christmas Memory was a short story written by Truman Capote. Originally published in Mademoiselle magazine in December 1956 then reprinted in 1963. It first showed up as a stand-alone book in 1966. The story was actually adapted into tv specials, theatre and even opera. This rare book is a limited, numbered, autographed edition number 382 signed by Truman Capote. Only 600 copies were printed. The slipcase was designed by George Salter. George Salter, born Georg Salter, was an originally German, and from 1940 onwards US-American book cover designer. He revolutionized cover design for books. The book is dedicated to Catherine Woods, an English teacher at Greenwich High School in Connecticut, with being the first person to recognize Capote's writing talent and to give him guidance. With her encouragement he wrote poems and stories for the school paper, The Green Witch. He did not complete high school and had no further formal education. This book is in very good to excellent condition ..... a real treasure! Vintage Kosta Boda Frutteria Series Hand-Blown Vase by Gunnel Sahlin Rare form, green speckled hand-blown art glass vase from the “Frutteria” line. Etched signature at underside, numbered 49325, designed by Gunnel Sahlin. Gunnel Sahlin (1954-) is one of the well-known representatives of the illustrious contemporary Swedish glass design. She designed art glass for Kosta-Boda, one of Sweden’s most prestigious glass companies, for 22 years. From 1999-2004 she was a Professor of Ceramics and Glass at The National College of Art, Craft and Design, Stockholm. Gunnel is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. Vintage Nolan Miller 100% Wool Highly Embellished Blazer - Small This beautiful vintage 1980’s 100% wool blazer was designed by famous Dynasty fashion designer, Nolan Miller, and is intricately adorned with an abundance of embellishments on the front and around the neck area including beads, metallic gold threads, and embroidery with a scrolling floral motif. Even the sleeve buttons are covered in beads. All the beads and threads are intact. One clasp front closure. This jacket screams Hollywood! Fully lined. Tag says size 6, but please refer to the approximate measurements below. I love the way the bottom of the jacket softly flares out, like the lines of Christian Dior’s famous bar jacket design. This blazer would look great with a pair of flowing silky or lame pants or skirt with a contrast of color such as ivory, silver, warm gray, or gold. So classic! Nolan Bertrandoff Miller (1933-2012) was an American fashion and jewelry designer on QVC and a television costume designer best known for his work on the long-running 1980s series Dynasty, its spin-off series The Colbys and the 1991 miniseries Dynasty: The Reunion. He collaborated on many projects with television producers Aaron Spelling and Douglas S. Cramer, including Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Hotel, and Vegas. Vintage Designer Sally Levison Originals late 1960’s/early 1970’s Crochet Maxi Dress Established in early 1968, fashion label "Levison Originals" was the creation of a young Sarah Levison-Marder, whose knitwear pieces became very successful within the London fashion scene. With a manufacturing base in the picturesque island of Gozo, Malta, garments were imported and sold to the British public from a Mortimer Street boutique in the heart of Fitzrovia, Mayfair, London Sally Levison self-donated several of her original designs to the V&A Museum in London, and her pieces are now considered very rare and highly collectible. Sally Levison passed away in 2006. The Victoria & Albert Museum: Sally Levison perceived that knitwear was undergoing a radical transformation and caught the mood for coordinated and “mix and match” outfits. Her short-lived but internationally successful business was set up on the small Maltese island of Gozo in 1968. She employed up to one thousand knitters and crocheters and in 1970, encouraged by the Maltese government, set up a factory. The business was sold to Mary Farrin in 1973.
