The lying liars who lie
Years and years late to the party, I’ve finally gotten my hands on all the DVDs of BBC Sherlock, and I thought it would be fun to watch the extra material carefully, one piece after another, and also listen to at least some of the show makers’ commentary of the episodes. But at this point, after S4 where DVDs seemed to be a constant lying device in general, I tend to look at them with a bit more suspicious eyes...
Tumblr media
I still love the show of course, but now that I’ve taken this deep dive into all the special features, I find them a truly hard thing to try to wrap my head around. Even this long after the fact, I’m amazed by the amount of shameless, self-congratulatory BS in the DVDs, where the people involved can’t have enough of complimenting each other and their show, while they skillfully avoid to discuss anything actually meaningful about the plot line. ;) For example, Moffat claims in the S2 DVD that “In fact, you’ll never see a more obsessively authentic version of Sherlock Holmes than this one”. But if we follow their light-hearted commentary, which basically takes the show at face value, I’d call that not just hyperbole, but an outright lie. If you want to see the ‘authentic’ stories from ACD’s work in this show, you’ll definitely need to go much deeper into the subtext and meta levels - neither of which are mentioned on these DVDs of course. Here’s my own (rather subjective) ‘review’ of the whole thing, trying to pinpoint why I view most of the commentary of the show from its own makers as an advanced art of deception.
(My musings under the cut)
Series 1 - a wealth of extra material
First of all - as many of you probably knew already - the whole of the Unaired Pilot is added to the DVD of S1. In the extra material about the making of the series, they (Sue Vertue, Mofftiss and others) talk about what things they changed between the Pilot and ASiP, claiming that many changes were necessary improvements once they knew that they had a whole series and a lot more time at their disposal.
Which I can perfectly understand and agree with in general. But I think what’s missing in their discussions is more interesting than what’s actually there (”Mind the gap” ;) ). Things that I would expect from the show makers when they go to the trouble of comparing the pilot version with the aired product. There’s not a word, for example, about the fact that they added both Mycroft and Moriarty to the story in ASiP - two characters who later turn out to play major roles and appear in almost every other episode until the end of TFP. Or about the choice that one of the screenwriters would play Mycroft.
Neither do they discuss why they chose to relocate the place where Sherlock was challenged by the cabbie from 221B to Roland Kerr’s School of Further Education. Instead they focus on the details, like for example the new design of the interior of 221B.
Not to mention the fact that almost every scene in the Pilot is mirrored in ASiP (as pointed out long ago by @kateis-cakeis X), but at Angelo’s in the Pilot Sherlock follows the events with the cabbie while looking in an actual mirror. I even noticed that in the Pilot the cabbie is offering Sherlock dark-coloured bottles with the pills in them, while in ASiP those bottles are transparent, as if the cabbie is offering Sherlock to play Black or White in the chess game that he is simulating. What’s with all these mirrors, though? Not a word on the DVD... ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, even though these rather remarkable choices are neglected together with a great bunch of minor ones, I still think that the most interesting fact about all this is that they actually included the whole pilot version within this DVD, which is sold by the franchise. Why even do this, when it raises far more questions than it answers? The only logical reason I can come up with is that they’re laying out a track of little hints that anyone with a deep enough interest in the show to actually buy the DVDs can try to follow. And it seems to me that lying by omission is one of the first steps in the long line of cryptic and misleading author comments on this show. But at the same time, they clearly want the fans to have access to it all, even the abandoned version.
Moving on to Series 2, time for bigger lies
In the extra material of this DVD Benedict himself describes how his character "faces one of his deadliest enemies in the shape of Love, and it comes in the form of Irene Adler, who is this extraordinary dominatrix [insert here a bunch of superlatives regarding Adler]...”. And then we see how Adler whips Sherlock with a riding crop (without any kind of consent, I have to add) while he’s lying on the floor, and we have Lara Pulver telling us how it was to have a go at Benedict on set. So Holmes whips dead bodies and Adler whips living; seems like a match made in hell! :))
Gatiss claims, grinning with his whole face, that “they’re clearly, absolutely made for each other”. OK, so I think we can see Sherlock being intellectually impressed by Adler, and even trying to protect her from Mycroft, and we can see John acting jealously. We can also see her being dressed and styled as a perfect, female mirror of Sherlock. But I’m still at a loss what all this has to do with love on Sherlock’s part? Especially since he’s not even responding in any fashion to her various attempts at seducing him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there’s more: Paul McGuigan, the director of ASiB, claims that the scene where Sherlock has a conversation with Adler inside his Mind Palace about the crime case with the car that backfires "is a part of a kind of love story, if you like...” No, I don’t. Maybe it’s just me, but if their aim really was to convey to their audience a love story between Sherlock and The Woman, I think they failed miserably. All I see is a guy ’mansplaining’ to a clever woman how to use her brain, while she’s trying to flirt with him by expressing her admiration (to no avail, though) and make deductions at the same time. Nothing new under the sun, really. John did the same thing repeatedly in ASiP (without making own deductions) and got far more attention from Sherlock, but I’ve never heard any of the show makers call that ”a love story”. But by ’lie-splaining’ the scene with Irene to the audience, they try to manipulate us all to see it as such...
In all the direct commentary of this episode, where Steven, Mark, Sue, Benedict and Lara are present, I get the impression that every time they even touch on the relationship between Sherlock and John, they hurry to add the term “friendship” or “man love” or similar words in case they forgot them at first, avoiding even the tiniest possibility that there could be anything more going on between them. They even explain that when Irene calls them “a couple” she does not mean anything romantic. This whole approach feels almost paranoic in the midst of all the laid-back jokes and light-hearted talk about the filming. It’s as if a sort of restrictive, heteronormative filter or blanket is being constantly applied, to teach the audience the ‘no homo’ lesson of it all. And the more I listen to this, the more tiresome it becomes.
In the commentary Moffat does reveal an interesting detail, though: that the ‘Flight of the Dead’ in ASiB was inspired by a cut out scene in the Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service. To me this is just one more reason to question the ‘authentic’ quality of this scene, as opposed to possibly taking place in Sherlock’s Mind Palace. But I digress...
Listening to the commentary in general, it’s like it’s aimed to distract the attention from what’s going on at the screen rather than highlight it and try to explain their intentions. They do mention that Irene didn’t actually ‘beat’ Sherlock in the end of ASiB, but there’s no explanation of this obvious deviation from canon, where Adler does indeed fool Holmes, taking advantage of his prejudices.
The rest of the extra material of S2 is mostly about technical stuff, special effects and such, and also about filming techniques and Benedict’s delivery of fast deductions. But the part I really do love is the one where Andrew Scott talks about how much he enjoyed playing the scene where Moriarty dances before breaking into the Crown Jewels. That’s one of my favorite scenes of he whole show. :) Also, the takeaway message from this DVD is Moffat’s words at the end:
“These are still the formative years of Sherlock Holmes, and the most important thing about this series is not that it’s updated; it’s the fact that those two men are still young and they’re still at the beginning of what they don’t yet know is gonna be a lifelong partnership”.
And then comes Series 3...
...and its extra material, with the most blatant attempts at deception so far, I believe. At this point Sherlock is called a “psychopath” by both the show’s characters, John’s blog, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as if it were true, which is a big deviation from ACD canon. That simply doesn’t happen there; while Holmes is sometimes described as eccentric, no one in the books is ever claiming that Sherlock Holmes has some kind of mental illness leaning towards cruelty and egotism - not even his enemies say this about him. In the show, however, they begin in ASiP with making him torture a dying man for information (something that is not included in the Pilot). And in S3, where they avoid discussing the reason why they turned Mary Morstan into a ruthless assassin, this major shift is glossed over by the fact that in the same episode (HLV) they also turn Sherlock into a murderer, who cold-bloodedly blows the brains out of a blackmailer for threatening to make said assassin’s crimes public.
But without ever getting into the “why” of it all, the cast and crew seem overly happy and smiling describing these rather morbid choices as something positive; “fantastic”, "fresh and new” and "amazing” are their choice of words. Benedict claims that Mary, who has literally shot and almost killed Sherlock in HLV, is now "a new best friend of Sherlock’s”. Amanda claims that Mary “is protecting John” when she shoots Sherlock in the chest. Now they’re both psychopaths, and poor little John is forced to stomach them both because he’s addicted to danger. In Amanda’s words, Mary also “kind of gets in between the two of them, but she wants them to be together as well”.  Which is a load of BS considering that Mary tries to kill the protagonist of the story.
Tumblr media
Lars Mikkelsen thinks it’s “such a good script” because “you’re mislead as an audience”. But he never gets the chance to expand on what the misleading actually contains, because then Mofftiss cut in to express how much they love playing with “what ifs”. As if this whole mega-budget project of a show were just a big experimental playground without any actual story to tell.
Benedict repeats his line from HLV that Magnussen “preys on people who are different” and Moffat also says he “exploits people who are different”. Which is really confusing, considering what we can see Magnussen actually do in the show. Lady Smallwood and John Garvie are two well-established, powerful governmental politicians whom Magnussen blackmails by finding their respective pressure points. In Garvie’s case his pressure point seems to be alcohol problems in his past, but according to media he’s later arrested on charges of corruption. Lady Smallwood is blackmailed on the basis of her husband having sent compromising letters to a minor many years ago, in spite of later claiming that he thought she was older and stopped when he found out the truth. And then Magnussen is blackmailing an assassin who recently threatened to execute him but shot Sherlock Holmes instead, in order to try to get at Sherlock’s brother Mycroft, another powerful governmental figure.
But what does media seeking out dirt on certain people in power and their families have to do with “people who are different”? Despicable as the method may be, isn’t this unfortunately how political power play usually works in our society? Or are TPTB somehow a repressed minority group now? Unless this whole “people who are different” accusation is actually about something entirely different, something that none of the show makers even cares to mention... ;)
In these DVDs, none of the involved persons is ever discussing the change of roles with regards to canon, though, or the (lack of) logics in this turn of events, or even a hint about the narrative motivation behind them. It’s all about the great Drama, the extraordinary visual effects and the aim to endlessly “surprise the audience”. Which is fine by me to a certain extent, but when this is all that’s being said, it feels extremely superficial, as if the audience is merely seen as a bunch of consumers that have to be triggered more and more by horror, special effects and cliff hangers to be able to appreciate the show. (“Warm paste” indeed, like Gatiss has later criticized some viewers of wanting...) While the "why”; the idea behind this surrealistic adaptation, made by self-proclaimed fanboys of ACD, is not even touched upon. Around this, the silence is total and therefore totally confusing.
Maybe I shouldn’t even go into Series 4...
...but why not, since I’ve already started? :)
First of all, there’s a lot of extra material on this DVD and I particularly love the parts about the music and composing and Arwel Wyn Jones’ work with the design and build-up of John’s and Mary’s flat and the interior of 221B. Those bits are truly enjoyable. What I could live without, though, is the leading commentary that kind of instructs us, the audience, how we should interpret the show.
Benedict is on it again on this DVD, telling us that in TST they picked up where they left off in S3 and “It’s a very happy unit of three people that then become four.” Why does he feel the need to make this statement, considering how S3 ended? Actually, if there’s anything I totally fail to see in S4, it’s happiness. The banter between the three  of them may seem entertaining for a while, but who could have a relaxed, warm relationship with someone who tried and almost succeeded to kill you less than a year ago? Without any sign of remorse? Now there’s a dark tone of discomfort and mean jokes that feels forced and not even a bit happy to me.
But Martin tells us how excited John and Mary are about starting a family and Amanda mentions how much they’re looking forward to the baby. Again and again it’s repeated, as though trying to rub it in: “they’re in a good place, they’re a loving, married couple”. Yeah, right - a child that (judging by TSoT) wasn’t at all planned and now with an assassin for a mother... Twice we see the new parents complain that their daughter has the mark of Satan on her forehead and debate which horror movie she’s from. The clichéd hypocrisy of it all is sickening, and I’m willing to bet that it’s really meant to be. ;)
Tumblr media
But Gatiss chimes in, deciding for us all that the christening of Rosie is “a funny scene” and “they’re enjoying each other, enjoying being on adventures as a three”.
An interesting detail is that Gatiss also tells us that the working name of this episode was “The Adventure of the Melting power Ranger”. So this little blue guy was that important? :) And - even more interesting - is when he says: “Cake is now the code for violent death”. So how should we interpret Sherlock, John and Molly going out to have cake in TLD then, on Sherlock’s (supposed) birthday?
These might be jokes, though, but when they tell us that Sue cries every time she sees Mary’s death I strongly believe they must be joking. How could anyone feel truly moved by this overly sentimental long monologue where far more efforts are put into reacting to Mary’s speech than saving her life? And John’s mooing like a cow, is that also moving? :)
One thing Martin says about TLD that actually disgusts me is regarding the morgue scene where John assaults Sherlock and Sherlock lets it happen: “From there, really, their relationship can only sort of rebuild, that’s the absolute worst it can get”. As if outright physical abuse would be something that makes you want to rebuild a relationship? Wow - just wow... How far can they go with this crap?
Anyway, when we finally arrive at the absurdity of TFP and Sherlock’s ‘secret sister’, everything is of course discussed as if she actually does exist on the given premises, and everything she does is ‘real’, no matter how impossible it would be in real life. The abandonment of any attempt to have the story line make logical sense is skillfully covered up by more distraction with fascinating technicalities of the film making process. This is where Gatiss makes his now almost classic statement that after Sherlock and John jump out of the window at 221B when a grenade explodes there, it’s just “Boop! And they’re fine.”
Tumblr media
Of course there’s no serious attempt at explaining this logically. Except perhaps Gatiss claiming that they both landed on Speedy’s awning - whatever good that would do to them, since the awning is leaning downwards, but never mind... But we never even saw that happen, did we? A great deal of time is then dedicated to show all the precautions to have Martin and Ben jumping safely at low level onto a madras supported by empty cardboard boxes.
Sian Brooke did say something interesting about Sherrinford, however, that got me thinking. She said that Eurus “wants revenge for the years and years that she has been held captive” there, isolated, and that in TFP the Holmes children are now “lab rats” and “it’s an experiment”. On a meta level, I think we can indeed see this episode - and maybe the whole show - as a kind of experiment, but maybe we, the audience, are also lab rats? Since Sherrinford is slightly shaped like a film camera (not commented in the extra material, of course), it leads my thought to all the adaptations through the years and years where Holmes and Watson have not been allowed to be together. A whole century when Sherlock Holmes has been held captive, restricted by the very same sort of heteronormative filter that all this extra material imposes; it’s like Sherrinford, isn’t it? Which gives all the more meaning to Moriarty’s arrival to the island, accompanied by Freddy Mercury’s “I want to break free”...
Tumblr media
I think I’ll let the final words in this little exposé come from Mark Gatiss in The Writers’ Chat (my bolding):
“Moriarty is a fascinating thing in that in our sea of ongoing lies, one thing we’ve genuinely been completely consistent about is telling people he’s dead. But no-one believes it! And it’s a rather brilliant thing.”  Again - self-congratulatory statements. But instead of providing some actual evidence of the death of this character, who has kept popping up in almost every episode since his supposed demise, they think that the more a confirmed liar repeats something, the truer it gets? And the more we’re supposed to believe them? Well, all we can do is wait and see. :)

Ffs, we don't need explicitly canon OT3 on Leverage: Redemption! We don't! We have Word of God Confirmation ffs! And if we get it within the show in the way some people are asking for, then the show won't feel the same as the original because of how it's all been done in such a gracefully, beautiful complex way. And as someone who excepts OT3, and is perfectly happy about it from many angles, the fact of the matter is I don't need it infront of my salad! THAT'S NOT THE POINT OF THIS SHOW AND IT'S NOT THE ART WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOW FOR! I get relationships shoved down my fucking throat on every other goddamn show I watch. That's not at a level of art that the OG Leverage was. It is layers of wonderfully beautiful that almost no other show out there could ever fucking touch! IT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO GODDAMN SPECIAL!
Ffs, we have Word of God confirmation, we don't need more explicitness than that on screen! Why do you want it to be explicit on screen when it's already in there subtly and with WoG confirmation and done within the show in such an amazing way? WHY?! IT'S ALREADY THERE AND YOU KNOW IT!
And for those of you saying, "I want it, but I'll live without talking about it," GREAT! I'm not actually talking about you! I'm talking about the fuckers that say they want "canon OT3 or there will be hell to pay!" YOU FUCKERS ARE THE ONES I'M TALKING TO!
AND JOHN WANTED A HELL OF A LOT LEFT OPEN TO INTERPRETATION TO ALLOW FOR FANFICTION! NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE LAID OUT BECAUSE WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT LEAVE PEOPLE TO WRITE? THIS WAY WE CAN LET PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN THEORIES ABOUT THE SPECIFIC RELATIONSHIP OF OT3!
I get it, you want to know seeing yourself in the character is valid, but allowing certain things to be left open to interpretation let's OTHER PEOPLE continue to see themselves in these characters! WHY do you want that to be taken away from THEM?!
OT3 IS ALREADY FUCKING CANON! IT'S FUCKING CONFIRMED! PLEASE LEAVE IT AT THAT AND SHUT THE FUCK UP SAYING THAT YOU NEED TO SEE SOMETHING MORE EXPLICIT ON SCREEN BECAUSE THAT ERASES THE REP THAT'S ALREADY THERE! IT ERASES THE REP YOU AND COUNTLESS OTHERS ALREADY SEE! IT'S THE SAME MOTHER FUCKING PROBLEM IN THE FUCKING SUPERNATURAL FANDOM!
DONT LET THAT SHIT IN OUR HOUSE!
YOU ARE ERASING THE QUEER AND POLY REP THAT IS ALREADY THERE BY SAYING IT'S NOT CANON UNLESS YOU GET SOMETHING ON SCREEN WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE WORD OF GOD CONFIRMATION OF WHAT WAS MEANT BY ELIOT'S STATEMENT IN THE OG FINALE!
WHAT THE EVER-LIVING-FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE ERASING THE MASTERFUL SUBTEXT AND SUBTLE-ISH TEXT THEY HAD TO PUT IN THROUGH DIALOGUE AND COSTUMING AND BEHAVIOR THAT THE CREATIVE TEAM POURED THEIR LOVE AND SOUL INTO TO SHOW YOU OT3 WAS THERE?! THEY DID THAT! AND YOU ARE ERASING THEIR HARD WORK AND BEAUTIFUL ART BY SAYING IT ISN'T THERE ENOUGH! YOU ARE ERASING JOHN ROGERS' AND THE CREW'S METICULOUS WORK BECAUSE YOU WANT MORE?! FUCK THE FUCK OFF! WE DONT GET STORIES THIS, BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED DOWN TO COMPLEX DESIGN AND COMPLEX BEHAVIORAL ELEMENTS, IN NEARLY ANY OTHER GODDAMN SHOW OUT THERE! THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS IN THE SUBTLE DETAILS PUT INTO THIS SHOW IN SUCH A GODDAMN ARTISTIC AND BRILLIANT WAY, AND PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO ERASE THAT BECAUSE THEY CANT APPRECIATE ART! IF YOU REALLY LOVE THE WRITERS, THEN ACTUALLY APPRECIATE THEIR WORK, DAMNIT!
BE BETTER THAN THOSE IDIOTS THAT ROAM THE SPN FANDOM THAT SAY "THIS WASN'T ENOUGH" WHEN IT WAS SPLAYED OUT EVERYWHERE! BE BETTER THAN THAT!

Under the Stars (Mal x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: Mal Pugh imagine where the reader is her childhood best friend but they've never admitted their feelings for each other but it comes out when one of the youngin's start to hit on her when Mal introduces her to the team?
Special Thanks to @literaryhedgehog
You had known Mal for as long as you could remember, and for as long as Mal could remember you loved stars. You had been obsessed with them since you could walk, so it wasn’t a shock when you had decided to study astronomy.
It wasn’t often that you and Mal could go stargazing together, with you working at the science center and her being a soccer star, so when she was in town, it had been a no brainer for her to take her friends to see you (Lindsey would argue that staring creepily at a random tour guide wasn’t “seeing” but the ticket lady said you had to finish your 3:00 before you could take them around. You were just too pretty to ignore anyway).
Mal watched as Lindsey and Rose checked out the coin racing game at the entrance, waiting near the poster that said “tour starts here” for you to show up. She wiped her palms on her jeans, thinking about how long it had been. Was it really three years since you had actually seen her in person? And then she saw you.
You were walking down the hall talking to your 3:00 tour group. You were walking backwards, of course, telling the group about the regularly scheduled events at the planetarium that they could sign up for. Mal remembered how last time you saw her, you had challenged her to a backwards race, “the first race I have ever won against Mal Pugh.” You were so excited, that Mal didn’t even mind being the designated driver that night (the loser’s prize for the competition), even though it was one of the few chances to go out with friends between seasons.
“Did you already call dibs, or is she up for grabs?” Emily asked, nudging Mal out of her reverie.
“First, gross. She’s a person not a seat in the car or the last Oreo. Second, She’s my childhood best friend,” Mal scoffed. Then she elbowed Emily sharply, noticing where her gaze had gone. You were still walking backward, and Emily had noticed.
“So, single childhood best friend or…?” Emily asked distractedly.
“You’re not asking her out,” Mal said again, as Lindsey and Rose returned from their game. She tried to say it like Carli said “do it again”, with a tone that allowed no argument. But it came out a bit more defensive.
“Why? Sonny’s well within her rights. There’s not like a rule against it,” Lindsey bit her lip. Even in that terrible museum polo, you looked hot.
“I’m with Linds on this on…” Rose shrugged with a smirk, more interested in annoying Mal than anything else.
“I hate you all,” Mal hissed, turning and moving to stand in front of them, blocking their view of you. Lindsey and Emily each just smiled and took a step to the side, presumably so that their view was no longer blocked. Assholes.
“Well, I certainly hope you don’t hate me!” Your voice came from directly behind her.
“Y/N!” Mal cheered, whipping around and throwing her arms over you. You pulled her into an equally tight hug, throwing your arms over her shoulders and pressing your cheek to hers (completely missing the mischievous look the other three women shared).
“Hey Mal, are you going to introduce us to your lovely friend?” Emily began, in a falsely sweet voice.
“Or are you just going to keep using her as a teddy bear?” Lindsey finished, quirking her eyebrow up. Mal’s cheeks flamed red. If she didn’t think this tour was going to be interesting before, she knew now.
****
Mal could already see the headlines now. 3 USWNT players murdered with a model rocket. Or Murder at the museum- the forward who snapped and bashed her teammates with the scale sun. She was going to kill someone if they made another pass at you.
“So in this display here you can see what is left of a meteor that fell downtown. Now meteors are made of stone or iron, and they typically burn up in the atmosphere. This one must have been very large when it entered earth’s atmosphere because it was still two inches long when it landed on Elm street in 1976.”
“Well, maybe you’re a meteor then because I’m burning up around you,” Lindsey smirked, bumping your side. You sent a glance Mal’s way, glad to see that she was interested in your many factoids. She seemed way more engaged in the tour than last time, and was listening to every word you exchanged with her friends with rapt attention.
“No, it’s the earth’s atmosphere that causes the meteor’s to burn. You see the layer of molecules making up the Earth’s mesosphere rub against them, generating heat through the friction generated by the meteor’s speed. I suppose it is a little warm in here though, the next room should be better. It’s the largest model of a rocket west of the Mississippi,” Your hands waved wildly with your excitement. The rocket room was your second favorite in the entire museum.
“Well I know a thing or two about friction, and I even brought my very large rocket with me. I could show it to you if you want,” Emily saddled up beside you, throwing an arm over your shoulder. You shrugged her off, beginning to walk backwards out of the room.
“So as you can see, this room was designed to look like a miniature set up of the launch of the Friendship 7, the rocket launch that put John Glenn on the first man-piloted orbit around the Earth.”
“I would love if we could rocket past the friendship orbit” Rose said salaciously, blatantly ignoring the hole Male was staring into her head.
“Oh but it’s a really interesting piece of history, and was actually showcased in the recent film Hidden Figures. The Apollo 11 mission is more famous of course, but the Friendship 7 mission actually was a large part of the space race. The Friendship orbited the earth three times with an autopilot failure, so John Glen had to manually pilot the spacecraft-” you started.
“I could show you how I manually pilot my spacecraft,” Lindsey winked, her lips twitching before she could school her features. Mal glared at her. It wasn’t fair that they were using your obliviousness as entertainment.
“You have a model too? And it flys?” You asked, mouth agape. Models like that were not cheap, even if you got them secondhand. “That’s not fair. Is it like a USWNT thing?”
“Oh yeah, we women’s soccer stars have some amazing remote control shuttles,”  Rose nodded, somehow able to keep a serious expression.
“Mal, why haven’t you ever shown me yours?” Emily suddenly had a ‘coughing fit’ and Rose patted her on the back as they both hid their laughter at your phrasing. You were too busy glaring at Mal to notice. “I thought you were my best friend.”
“Trust us, she wishes she could, but she’s just too chicken to admit it,” Lindsey mumbled under her breath, but you heard it. Your head snapped in her direction. What was Mal too chicken to admit, that she liked rockets too? What was the worst thing that could happen? You would probably tease her just like she always teased you.
“Ok, that’s enough,” Mal said, giving the finger to Lindsey out of your line of sight.
“So I’m kinda confused,” you said, looking at Mal. Wait, was she blushing?
“They’ve been flirting with you to mess with me,”
“Oh…” Mal cringed at your voice, the way you somehow clipped the word short, but also seemed to fill the silence following it. Your cheeks heated with embarrassment.
You brought your hand up to rub the back of your neck, as you stared at the suddenly interesting ground. “So, you’ve been listening to me ramble just so you could tease me later about how oblivious I was?” you asked sadly. You had really wanted this to go well. To impress the girl you had been in love with for as long as you could remember, and your geeky interest in space had fucked that up.
“No, they want to tease me about my massive crush on you,” Mal rolled her eyes, stepping a step towards you and cupping your still red cheeks.
“How massive?” You asked like a two year old, licking your lips.
 “Think Jupiter sized.”
“That is pretty big,” You said, nodding your head thoughtfully, “More than three Earths could fit into its red spot alone.”
“Hmm,” Mal hummed, her lips mysteriously getting closer to yours, even though you hadn’t moved.
“The gravity machine is in the next room if you three wanna go ahead,” You waved your hand in that direction, never taking your eyes off of Mal.
You heard Emily whine out a “But this was just starting to get good,” and Lindsey’s responding “Shut up Disani and keep walking.,”
“Now that they’re gone, I can do something I’ve been waiting to do since we were kids,” Mal’s breath fanned against your lips a second before her skin touched your own. It was slow and sweet and made even more perfect by the fact that you were where you had always loved being with her. Under the stars.

Made a tier list of FNaF media!!! Not counting the activity book or the security survival log because those don’t really add anything, they’re just neat activities or summaries of game info
I explained the choices under the cut, equal parts personal bias and objective opinion, so if you think differently then hey, good on ya!
Going down to up XD
F
The Silver Eyes Graphic Novel: Do I even need to explain this one? Rushed art with countless mistakes, horrid coloring, samey designs, the important scenes come off as bland and even goofy instead of impactful. It’s clear Pinky wasn’t used to drawing humans, the colorist had no idea what they were doing, and no one on the team made a graphic novel before. It’s laughable how bad this was XD
E
The Fourth Closet: Does anyone really know what happened at the end? I... really don’t like what they did with Charlie in this one. I don’t like how William was able to get out of his Springtrap- it was SUPPOSED to trap him, and yet he just... is out of it... I think the whole thing with Baby being like this hot clown girl instead of what she is in Sister Location is very... ... it exists... Tbh I respect the bold direction it took, but I honestly felt it was too much of a stretch and just didn’t work.
D
FNaF AR, Special Delivery: Not bad! The character models and voice acting is where the game shines most. Other than that, there isn’t really much substantial to the game other than some lore with Vanny/Ness and Luis. The gameplay can get frustrating sometimes(I cant collect remnant, read my mail, or even work on my own animatronics without DING DONG SOMEONES HERE every 5 seconds), and all you do is spin in a circle until you get glitchy, look away if they get glitchy, or zap them when they run at you. Some people probably love this game and good on them for that, but I find myself not touching it for weeks at a time.
Freddy In Space 2: GREAT game for charity, great art, great music! ... That’s all it has going for it, though. It was clear that this was a quickly made game designed to be beaten in one sitting, and it did exactly what it needed to do! Other than being amazing how it was for charity, the game doesn’t have that much going for it(except introducing Lolzhax aka BEST ROBO), so overall not bad but also did almost nothing outside of being for the Charity Livestream XD
Fazbear Frights, Into The Pit: Again, not bad! A nice collection of short stories, almost like goofy campfire horror you’d tell to kids... like goosebumps! I felt each story was REALLY lacking in some areas, but I liked the general idea they were going for. That being said, they’re moreso neat scary stories with the name FNaF attached than anything else(except maybe the first of the three). It hints that they have an overarching plot that will be covered in future books, but as of right now, I feel no one’s missing out by not reading them.
C
FNaF 3: A satisfying end to the original trilogy story! Purple Guy gets justice, everything gets tied together with a neat bow, and the first arc in the series comes to an end. Also Springtrap, aka my favorite. This game is riddled with neat 8-bit minigames and bits of lore, but the gameplay itself is where I find it not as good as the S A and B tiers. The new setup with the system reboots are def really interesting, but other than that, each night is just... the same thing but harder. Most other games introduce different characters on different difficulties per night, but since Springtrap is the only deadly one, it’s just... him more aggressive each night and systems failing more often. Makes the gameplay pretty repetitive and frustrating after Night 3 or so.
FNaF 4: The beginning of what I like to call the Afton saga(4, SL, FFPS, UCN)! This is when the lore began to get REALLY good... and also really confusing. Props for it taking such a bold direction by taking place in a child’s bedroom instead of in an office with cameras, its a neat change of pace! That being said, the gameplay can get frustrating and there’s a high learning curve for needing to listen to each sound the anmatronics make. Also lore wise... there really isn’t much! Just mainly focuses on what happened to this poor kid. Also the box still being a loose end... yeah.
The Twisted Ones: I enjoyed this one! It had a very interesting direction that kinda kept me guessing on what was going on, and this is when Scott really started nailing in the foreshadowing for the reveal in TFC. The Twisted animatronics are SO cool, and the introduction of those little alteration chips provided new context to games like 4 and SL! That being said, I don’t remember it being... that memorable? I also didn’t like how Charlie’s and John’s relationship was... so awkward... It was neat, but honestly nothing to really go crazy over, in my opinion.
B
The Silver Eyes: Honestly, I adored this book when I read it back in 2016, before Sister Location happened. At the time I wasn’t trying to connect it to any lore, so it was really great just to see a sort of retelling of the FNaF story. A lot of people complained about how long it was... I might agree if I reread it but tbh it never bothered me before. It was delightfully creepy, yet had a simple plot and wasn’t NEARLY as out there as TTO and TFC. Especially TFC. I felt this book didnt need 2 sequels and would’ve been just fine on its own, but whatcha gonna do. Carlton is forever my fav, and it’s the first time we really learn about Henry AND it was the first time we got a name for our Purple Guy: William Afton!
Sister Location: I like this one for just how bold of a game it was. I’m also including SL’s Custom Night wrapped into this package. Jam packed with lore, our first (main) game with VOICE ACTING, and honestly the humor has no right being as good as it is. I love how this not only expanded on the crying child from 4′s story, but also gives us so much Elizabeth and Michael content. The gameplay has a lot of unbalanced features and feels a little too over the place at times, but I appreciate where it was going with it!
FNaF World: ... This one is pure personal bias. A lot of people don’t like it. I adore it. Honestly I love the cute overworld, I love beating up enemies as my favorite animatronics, I love the horror, nihilism, and lore shoved into this game alongside SO MUCH humor. Update 2 was nothing short of an absolute delight and... wait, no!!! FNaF World had our first voice acting!!! So many endings and nods to other games Scott’s made, a cool scene with Desk Man/Henry and Baby, just... muah. Good content. Also Scott 57 <3
A
Ultimate Custom Night: Name a better way to end the Afton Saga, I’ll wait. It’s so obvious how much time, thought, and care went into this one. I love how the game rewards you with funny cutscenes the higher scores you get, and I just! So much voice acting! I love how each preset- no, each character has their own moves so every time you do a certain mode, you need to learn to manage them all and get a good strategy. I like how it’s way more strategy and skill than the RNG that many previous games had. Also, Scott!!! You managed to put this into the LORE by making it William’s hell, MUAH, couldnt have done it better!!!
FNaF 2: This one might have bias for being the peak of the fandom, but it was one of the greatest times to be in that fandom. Freaking out over the trailers, theories galore, prequel vs sequel, and just... so good. 1 didn’t have much plot, 2 DID. 2 had more mechanics and strategy to it than 1, and gave us over twice as many characters! We finally got a “face” to our killer, Mr. Purple Man, and how could I ever complain about more Phone Guy~? This one also introduced the 8-bit minigames, which became a HUGE staple for the series! Perfect expansion of the first!
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator: The PERFECT blend of old and new gameplay. The salvage scenes are intense, the nights had a great balancing mechanic of juggling doing tasks while also avoiding animatronics, multiple endings, and a neat tycoon segment to give the player a breather... but with LORE!!! Midnight Motorist is easily one of the best tracks in the series. Also has a GREAT canonical ending, when(with paired with UCN), ties the plots of 1-6 SO nicely with a neat bow.
S
FNaF 1: Okay. From a personal and gameplay standpoint, I was going to put this much lower. Like B or C. That being said... this has to go in S. Yes, it has the least lore and arguably the worst gameplay(too much RNG for 4/20 mode), but this was the game. I can’t even exaggerate when I say just how much FNaF changed not only the gaming community, but especially the horror and indie communities. So many names got big from this: Markiplier, Dawko, Game Theory, The Living Tombstone, DA Games, SCOTT HIMSELF, just to name a few!!! And to think, this was originally going to be Scott’s last game! FNaF changed gaming HISTORY, and I think that alone makes this title deserving of S.
FNaF VR, Help Wanted: Okay, personal bias time, but I truly think VR deserves this S. Seeing Glitchtrap for the first time incited a panic in me that I hadn’t felt since FNaF 1 and 2. You get FNaF 1-4 in one, all in VR, WONDERFUL character models that you can WATCH MOVE!!! SO many minigames and fun challenges to play, so many neat knickknacks to collect, the Halloween update is FANTASTIC. The introduction of some great characters, such as: Glitchtrap, Vanny, Tape Girl, Dreadbear, Grim Foxy, etc!!! There’s also just- something so nice about being able to see every office and the pizzeria in 3D spaces where you can look around! Just from a gameplay and environment standpoint, this was an AMAZING addition and deserves the S.
... Thanks for listening to me ramble XD If you disagree... then good for you! I won’t fight anyone on this, I’m aware that this is a lot of personal bias. But if you made it this far... thanks for hearing me ramble!!!!

The Mosley Review: Best Films of 2019
Tumblr media
Wohoo! 2019 has come and gone and man did it fly by. This year we had sooooo many fantastic films and this year was probably the hardest list to put together. I really wanted to include alot more, but I had to make a few cuts. Now I tend to keep my list to the traditional 10 films, but on some occasions I've extended it to 11. This is one of those occasions. I have one runner up that is worth mentioning and I think it should not be missed.
Tumblr media
Missing Link: Many animated films are computer generated now and the art of hand drawn animation is rarely shown. The one type of animation that is all but extinct is stop motion animation. It takes time, patience and passion to bring to life characters with such sophistication and care in an almost forgotten art form. The masterminds at Laika are truly imaginative artist and this film shows that in every frame. Not many films take the story of the myth behind Sasquatch to fun places without being hokey and I was relieved that this film took it seriously and pumped so much fun and heart into the story and I think this was a hidden gem of 2019. Click the title for my full review.
Now, on to my list of 2019's best films of the year. If you want my full review of each film then go ahead and click the title of each film. First one up is definitely a fantastic sequel to a film that the author hated, but loved the film adaptation of his second book.
Tumblr media
Doctor Sleep: The Shining is a classic that can never really be touched. Stephen King is famously known for disliking the film adaptation of his novel, but with his blessing placed upon Mike Flanagan's vision for the sequel novel, we got this magnificent film. Not only does this film pay tribute to Stanley Kubrick's film, but it also follows the same rules and visual structure while keeping the film fresh. The tone was consistent and the performances were across the board amazing. Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and the talented Kyliegh Curran deliver absolute greatness. This film features stunning and intriguing dark moments, but definitely has one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen and its all because of Jacob Tremblay's performance in THAT scene.
Tumblr media
Ready or Not: How many times have we seen the family initiation story in a romantic comedy? A dozen times I tell you! Well how about you take the same concept, throw in a fun horror version of hide and seek with a hint of the supernatural and great dark comedic writing. You get this fantastic film that is all of that and more. Luckily I stayed away from any major trailers for this film because in retrospect, the R rated trailer gave away too many of the fun gags. The performance of each family member was awesome and this was a standout performance for Samara Weaving. Every year from now on, this film will be on my Halloween watchlist. I loved this film and I can't recommend it enough.
Tumblr media
Shazam!: Batman (1989), Superman (1978), The Dark Knight Trilogy and Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse are just to name a few of perfect adaptations of a comic book character to screen. This film was beyond perfection in many ways and the best DC film to date. This film had the right amount of fun, darkness and heart that embodies the life of the titular character. I could see the amount of genuine fun the cast was having on screen and the heartfelt performances of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi were outstanding. Jack Dylan Grazer stole the film with his amazing comedic speed and wit. This was truly a film I had high hopes for and it didn't disappoint.
Tumblr media
Avengers: Endgame: How do you start a story in 2008 and bring it to an amazing and satisfying conclusion that wraps up 11 years of storytelling? You have a plan, a clear vision from the very beginning and with that it'll special success. Producer Kevin Feige set out on a journey to bring to life some of the best superheroes and keep them together in a cohesive and long formed narrative to complete a saga that's never been done before. He did it with the best talent behind each film's camera and The Russo Brothers have delivered the most epic film the superhero film genre has ever seen. I have waited my entire life to hear Captain America say "Avengers Assemble!" and I'm so happy I've lived long enough for my dream to come true. This was an emotional journey and end to The Infinity Saga. I really can say so much more about this crowning achievement in storytelling, but I'll keep this summary short.
Tumblr media
Rocketman: It was only a mater of time before we got a biopic about the incomparable music legend Elton John. I was hoping that it would not shy away from his sexuality, addictions and his bright and explosive since of style. Well this film jumped right in and held nothing back and I loved every bit. It was truly a fantastical film that had enough gravity and style. The musical locations illustrate his most important moments in his life and are visually stunning and accurate recreations of his most iconic performances. Taron Egerton was Elton John and I loved that he sang all the music. This was truly a masterpiece.
Tumblr media
1917: World War II films are a dime a dozen, but the World War I films are rare. Sam Mendes is one of the best directors and all of his films take you on a journey through the eyes, mind and soul of a character and he did exactly that in this film. The fact that this film is almost shot completely in one continuous take, gives every moment gravitas and tension as you watch our main character go along and across enemy lines to prevent an ambush. The score was truly haunting by Thomas Newman and my favorite piece from this film was from the flare scene. Such an stunning achievement in filmmaking should not be missed.
Tumblr media
Joker: The clown prince of crime has had many iterations over the past 80 years. The most influential and canonical version of the character came from Frank Miller's The Killing Joke. Heath Ledger's take was iconic and made you scared because of his unpredictability. Joaquin Phoenix has taken the character and given a truly disturbing and authentic performance. As Arthur Fleck, we see through a constantly unraveling psyche, a man become a new and real kind of monster. Not only is this version the most unsettling, but it was beautiful. The cinematography was great and I loved how we got into the mind and heart of the character when he wasn't even speaking. This is a definition of how a person being pushed through horrible conditions can truly become a monster and yet be free. I loved this film and I think it will be studied in many acting classes from here on out.
Tumblr media
Ford v Ferrari: There needs to be more racing films of this caliber! I love racing films that are not just about the cars, but also the drivers and their stories. This film was based on the true friendship between Carol Shelby and Ken Miles and I can't say enough how much attention to detail and heart that was put into every frame. The sound design in this film was crisp and powerful. The performances by both Matt Damon and Christian Bale was truly amazing and they had the best chemistry. Their fight scene was the funniest and most realistic fight I've ever seen between 2 friends. James Mangold is one of my favorite directors because of his focus on characters and story first before the action. This was a love letter to the world of racing and a respectful look at the lives of these pioneers of ingenuity and racing.
Tumblr media
How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: How do you make a perfect trilogy? How do you wrap it up with a satisfying and emotional ending? You focus on the story and stay true to the message and heart you started with in the beginning. You let the character bonds naturally grow and make each adventure a learning experience. This film was a perfect ending to the franchise and I can't stress how much I felt like I was with Hiccup and Toothless on their journey to this conclusion. The performances from the cast were stellar as always and although the villain may not have been as great, he still was a good addition. The visuals were the best and the textures in the scales and sand were out of this world. The score by John Powell truly brought me to tears as I got to say goodbye to my favorite companions. If you ever owned a pet, you known the emotional bond that is forged. This was the ultimate pay off and as a pet owner I saw my dog in Toothless' eyes. I will miss this franchise. If you're not crying by the end of this film then something is wrong with you.
Tumblr media
The Peanut Butter Falcon: There are some independent films that take a risk in going outside of the norm and telling a story that nobody would have ever dreamed. This film was truly something special and I can't tell you how happy I was throughout. This film focuses on an individual with down syndrome whose dream is to become a wrestler and it is something truly inspirational and heartwarming. Zack Gottsagen was truly brilliant and awesome in this film. I loved his journey and his will to keep going. Shia Lebouf delivers an equally powerful performance and his chemistry with Zack was very sweet. This is one of the best films of 2019 and the most important films of the decade.
And here we are ladies and gentlemen! This is the moment you've all been reading toward. This film was an automatic choice for me the moment the end credits rolled. The crowing jewel of 2019 is none other than.....
Tumblr media
Booksmart: I have seen so many high school teen comedies about partying or loosing your virginity before graduation, but never have I seen a film so engaging and focused on the bond of two bestfriends. Their bond was the heart and soul of the film and you couldn't have asked for a better pair of actresses. Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever were beyond perfection in every moment of this film and they had me cracking up left and right. Their adventure over the course of one night was truly fun and you are along for the hilarious ride. Billie Lourd nearly stole the whole film out from under them with her surprising and hilarious appearances. The music choices in the film were awesome as well. The comedy in this film was so fresh and from the first 6 minutes of the film you’re locked into these two ladies chemistry. I can't stress enough how much joy this film brought me and for a film to be on my mind for the entire year and to have me constantly recommending it to everyone I know is an achievement of itself. Olivia Wilde has directed a true masterpiece and new definition of a coming of age story. I can't stop gushing about this film so I'll finish off by saying WATCH THIS FILM!
And that is my list of the best films of 2019 and man has it been a great year in film. Lets hope 2020 starts off the decade with a bang! Thanks for reading everyone.

WHAT IS MUSLIM
The Muslim is one who yields his will to the will of Almighty God. We must keep in mind forever that God's will is the salvation of the people. Not our will; our will can't save us unless we give it to the guidance from God.
Jesus said, "Your will be done," according to the language of the Christians. "Not my will, your will." The Muslim is one who yields his will to the will of God.
God has given us human will so we can earn something for ourselves. So we can earn dignity for ourselves.
He has also given us hints in His creation, and has sent prophets to us to back up those hints. By those hints he has guided us and taught us that our will alone cannot save us.
The human being's will, from the time it is created, is searching for some guidance to give itself to. This is nature. The baby is looking for something to guide it. The woman, the man, grow and become adults looking for something to guide them. They go to the institutions of learning, to the houses of worship, looking for something to guide their will so they may form their lives by it.
They are looking for something to shape their will, to give meaning to their lives in the world. They run into so many problems. They can't find the answers they think they should get. They give up; and what do they do after this?
Many give their will to the forces of destruction. They give their will to lies, to corruption, to confusion, and they go down. They are destroyed by ignorance and by corruptible things.
The will in man is naturally designed or naturally made to seek God. The human will seeks God and when we find God, we find our peace.
We don't know God in all of His divine names or in all of His divine attributes. God has to show us these things through His prophets, through guidance. But we know that there is something that needs to be united with something that is missing. We don't always know what it is, but it is truth.
The human being comes into the world and the world teaches the human being some truth and some lies. The lies separate us from the reality that we should naturally be united with.
So God sends us His messengers to teach us that we are one creation, and not two. One creation, and that the Creator of this creation is one, not two, not three. One God. One Allah. One Creator for everything.
This oneness brings peace to us. Two or three bosses over us, running our lives brings confusion as the Quran says. Many people don't stop at two or three bosses, they worship prophets and saints. They give their lives to many directions. And what has this resulted in? The absence of the worship of God.
Look at the society of these people who have given their lives to two and three Gods, and to many saints for guidance. The leaders are writing "God is dead." And recently these words appeared in the New York Times commercial ad: "If God is alive, why is religion in so much pain?"
Why is religion in so much pain for whom? Not for us. Our religion is free of pain. It's relieving us of our pain.
God is alive and has always been alive for the Muslims, and all true believers.
A Muslim life is a clear life, not a life of confusion. The way that is shown to us is a clear way.
The Quran itself is called the clear book. Al-Bayan, very clear evidence, guidance, not something to guess at. It is self-evident. It doesn't leave us to interpret and establish it.
There's a lot in the Quran that needs interpretation but such is not the basis of the Book. Allah says in the Quran that "these verses are allegorical and basic." Allegorical may need interpretation.
"Those in whose hearts is crookedness or perversity, they prefer the allegorical over the basic." They like to get into the mysteries and avoid clear teaching.
"But the clear verses are the basis of the Book." That is where we stand. We stand on those clear teachings. We can all discuss and maybe make some contribution toward understanding the allegorical teachings but that's not what we stand on. We stand upon the clear teachings.
One God Who's not creation. Who is Creator. Who has no image, no likeness in creation, and He's not like creation. He made creation but He's not like it.
"Creation must exist by two"— forces, male and female, negative and positive. Allah says: "But I am the one who exists alone,"—needing no forces to aid Him.
Allah says again in His attributes that He is God, whose very being will not permit any contribution. Want to contribute something to God? Give Him a little help? No! Give God obedience. His very being refuses any contribution. It is our being that wants something. "Come, help me. Give me something." That is the human cry.
God says to us in the Quran, "Slumber nor sleep touches Him." He does not need food or anything. "He's the one who feeds and is not fed."
He needs nothing from us and the attribute As-Summad says, Allah is eternal, whose very being rejects contributions. Don't make your contribution thinking God can suffer a want for something. Make contributions to righteousness. Make contributions to yourself for God's sake. Make contributions to your life in obedience to God.
Send God some charity? Give God some help to save sinners? He doesn't need any help to save sinners. We need help to save ourselves.
God gives us that help in our intelligence. He gives us that help in our nature, in the sentiments of our heart. He also gives us help through inspired people, the prophets. But He needs no help. The God that is perfect. The God that is whole, needs nothing. The God that has no need for anything, no flaws, the perfect being, the Giving, the Loving, the Almighty.
Imam W.D. Mohammed (raa)https://www.instagram.com/p/CC33dRXJ2BT/?igshid=1vwaofkitf11cSUPPORTS YOU CAN'T SEE
And God says, "Look at the heavenly bodies." Both Scriptures point us to the heavens, for us to observe the wisdom for a higher order of human life on this planet earth. God says, "Observe the bodies that you see in the sky and how they appear to be supported with no props or supports under them that you can see."
What is that saying to us? It is saying that not only your life but the existence of the material universe is existence upon powers that you can't see. The sun you can't see what is holding it up. The moon you don't see what is holding it up there. You get a telescope and look at planets and material bodies or material mass bigger than ours.
Look at the planets, like Jupiter. You cannot see what is holding them up there. Science tells you of the trillions and trillions of tons not pounds in that mass. There it is hanging out there in space seemingly with no support holding it up.
That is pointed out to us to tell us to trust the God that designed this creation, trust the God that designed the Universe. Trust Him. You can't explain everything He did. Trust Him. He knows and you know not.
You look at what He has done and then come up with your own explanation for it. I know about universal gravity. That is what science tells us.
But when the farmer looks up there, he doesn't see any universal gravity. All he sees is big bodies up there and nothing is holding them up. So God's Lesson is going to stay, no matter what science says.
God gives us a Lesson that says, "Have faith in the Lord that designed this creation. The way it is designed is too big for your mind to grasp. Have faith in The One that designed it and don't doubt.
Imam W.D. Mohammed (raa)ASA
The Children of Israel or Jews as some call them were chosen by Allah; G'd, to deliver His message to all the people, they were not chosen by G'd to be the one special people above all other people on earth, Allah has no partners or associates. They failed to follow the command of Allah through their Prophet Moses, Moses was successful but most of the following went astray. The same mission was then placed upon Prophet Muhammad 610 AD, to call the people back to their original G'd given human nature.
Allah made a covenant with the Children of Israel, when they broke the covenant Allah gave that same covenant to Prophet Muhammad, that same covenant is upon us Muslims today. Praise be to Allah.
Isaac and Ismail are from the same Father, Ibrahim, Isaac, the father of Israel was the first leader of the Children of Israel; the 12 tribes. Ismail was the beginning of the Muslim movement, finalized with Prophet Muhammad, Allahs Messenger, The last Prophet of Allah to mankind.
All Prophets and Messengers, and Holy Books, are from One Source, Allah, The One and Only G'd.

Allah judges
Allah knows their value. we can’t judge that. We may take a brother who drinks and sit him over there with the corrupt, and that brother who drinks may be in heaven a little higher than us when are resurrected. We don’t know. Maybe the drinking that you did with Islamic science was bigger, made you a bigger drunk than he is. So we don’t know. So it is hard for us to do that. But sometimes I would like to see a good situation where all the corrupt, I know they are over there. I would be free, more relaxed to talk over here. When I talk over there I’d have something for them to say. It would be more relaxed for me to address them knowing that they are over there. But we can’t do that.
So now, what do we have to see, first? That Al Islam is a Religion that focuses the light on man and shows him firstly, principally, as a social creature; that G-d intended for him to be a social creature; not to be satisfied being an island, or on an island all to himself; that he must mate and become a bigger social unit; family, tribes, and then until you embrace the whole community of man on this earth and see yourself as a member in one family, with all people. So man is a social creature.
Qur’an gives social inspiration
Man is a social creature and the spirit of the Qur’an is, what? The spirit of the Qur’an is social inspiration. It feeds our social aspirations. This word social is bigger than we think it is. By social we don’t mean just associating with each other, physically, but our dependency on each other as members of a world society. We want to keep the focus on the Muslim community right now. As members of the Muslim community, our dependency on each other brings us together and our love for each other brings us together. So here we have a love for each other that brings us
Book #3 WDM p.19 of 86 together, and a dependency on each other that brings us together.
Pretty soon we find that the teacher of the school has to be tied up full time in doing that. But there is also a need to have business growing in the community. So there is a business person feeding business.
The social context in terms of people keeps expanding with growth, and as it grows there is more demand for more things to take care of the needs of its growing people. He can have the regulation of the home in the parent. He can have the regulation of the family in the parent. He can have the regulation of the morals in the parent, the discipline, the laws that discipline the family can be in the parent, everything. Everything can be in the parents.
That’s a small unit and he can manage that. But when it extends and involves hundreds of families, he can’t manage that. If there is nobody but him and his family, he can go out, take his sons out with him, children with him, go out and plow the field, and regulate his own food. He doesn’t need anybody to regulate the economy for him. He can handle that. But when they multiply in a social unit, it’s the social unit that is getting bigger. The social unit gets bigger and brings in demands for industry, for more sophisticated government, more complex government ideas, and everything else we can think of. There is not one other single influence responsible for the growth and development of society, other than the social principle, or the social influence.
Now, go back to the sun as a symbol. The sun, I said earlier that it’s the principle behind all the changes in the weather, the growth and everything, didn’t I? So here you have, now, me saying that the social interest, the social principle, is the influence behind all the other growth and possibilities.
Can’t we then say that the sun is also a symbol of man as a social unit, the Khalifa is male and female, and the purpose of male and female is to have generations? That’s the social principle. So the Khalifa is the social principle. He is the sun. He is the social principlSEVEN LOCKS
The Jahcubite Conspiracy
Seven locks. L-O-C-K-S. You need a key to open a lock. His (Samson) strength was in this, that his knowledge was locked up. Seven locks of hair. His knowledge wasn’t exposed to other people. And the moment he exposed it to Delilah whom he trusted, he lost his strength. Is that right. Yes.All right let’s continue now. Seven locks. Yes. So the locks you understand is a secret knowledge, secret knowledge that runs the course, it’s a knowledge that runs the course and it’s to be repeated (. Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do...) Because once it runs a course, it can’t be…. can’t keep going, you have to start it back over again. You start with doe, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti. When you get to ti, that’s the cross, now you can’t keep going with the cross, you have to bring in doe again. So you bring in Communism, or something else and you start the world all over again — do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti and you bring them to worship the Jahcubite again. And when they caught him, when they catch up with him, can’t keep the tee going, got to stop the worship of the Jahcubite. But start the world all over again with a new knowledge, do, re, and all the way up to ti again. So you keep going from one knowledge that is invented by the Jahcubite conspirators that lead you to the worship of the Jahcubite. Once you catch onto them that you’re worshiping them, they create another knowledge that brings you right to the same place again. So this is the seven locks of Samson that was his strength.
Samson fell in love with the hell he created and got weak But he fell in love so much with Delilah, Delilah is sin and darkness. Samson got weak. He fell in love with the hell he had created for the Gentiles. Delilah wasn’t meant for him to fall in love with. He wasn’t supposed to love Delilah; he was supposed to marry a different girl.So he ends up falling in love with Delilah that he didn’t really want. He didn’t want Delilah. But Delilah kept putting herself in his way. Why because he was raising a whole lot of hell in the world, and hell got so thick in the world, that even Samson couldn’t escape it.So sin and corruption came even against Samson … and the Jewish boys starts getting in the filth and the Jewish girls start going astray, and pretty soon the Jewish community gets disordered. Oh yeah.In love with the corruption that they created for other people. So what they got to do now? Well. Too late. Once the Jewish conspirators get weak for the sins of the wicked environment that they themselves formed, then they began to let out secrets to the people in the sinful environment.
They become drunk with the corruption that they created. And they lose mental fortitude or composure, they lose the composure, they lose the ability to hold in, what they shouldn’t let out. And they began to let out, not by word all the time, by their actions, by the mannerisms. The dark society began to peep their hold card. Ooooh, I see something. Yes, you get too intimate; somebody is going to see something. You see? So the people see. When the people see, then they expose the Jahcubite scheme. When the Jahcubite scheme is exposed, they have no strength. They become like ordinary people. Have no supernatural strength anymore. And their knowledge then is just on a level with our knowledge. So they are in the dark with us. They see no more than we see. So he becomes blind. Samson became blind. He had no superior eyesight. It was no more than the blindness of the society, because they had gotten his special knowledge. You understand? All right.
Samson can produce more fine flour of enlightenment
He’s blind now, and the world begins to use him. Not because they forced it on him. It looks like Samson was forced to do this. That’s all tricks. No, he has no other recourse; he has no other way, no other alternative. They know my secret now. My secret wisdom is of no power to me. Now what I’ll do is show them that I am stronger than an ox. I can grind more corn than their ox.I am going to get at the wheels of their economy. I’m going to get at the wheels of their academic knowledge, schools of thought. I am going to show them,I can produce more fine flour of academic knowledge. I can produce more fine flour of enlightenment. I will show them that I can produce what they want, and they won’t kill me, they will keep me as their workhorse, their ox, to grind the fine flour. So he goes from one conspiracy to another one.He goes underground like the Mafia and the Ku Klux Klan sometimes. And you say, “Oh I don’t see him anymore, they must be gone”. He’s not gone. He’s just grinding flour; he’s going to make bread all over again. And when he makes his bread, he will start again with do and he will go to re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti.
So he can’t see any more than you, but he knows how to grind the flour and he has the strength of the ox. So he grinds the flour of knowledge and he works with you in your blind world, in the darkness, right with you. But in time, he rises to the superior position. He has made him some flour that is special. Oh yes. And he is going to make him some dough that is special. And pretty soon he’s going to have all the bread. And when he gets the bread, he’s going to have the power. And then he will bring in re. And then after he brings in re, the world will come back to him, he would have mi again, and he will bring it on back up to fa, sol, la, ti, and when he gets to ti, he’ll have the world worshiping the Jahcubite again. And this thing continues over and over again, an endless circle. This is the true knowledge of the secret Jahcubite conspiracy. Not from the protocols of Zion. This is straight from the horse’s mouth. And you will find four horses in the Bible.
Imam W.D. Mohammed (raa)THE MEANING OF AR-RAHMAN
By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
(Editor's note: The following is excerpted from a Ta'lim lecture delivered December 15 in Chicago by Imam Muhammad.
Now we come to the names that are given in Qur'an that belong to Allah. The Qur'an says, "La-illaha-illalah, there is no God except Allah." and the Qur'an gives us names that belong to Allah. And the first one Ar-Rahman is given. Ar-Rahmanu means the Gracious. It's translated in different ways in English. Some translations say 'the Gracious,' some say, 'the kind.' If you look up 'kind' in the dictionary it doesn't only mean nice, it also means generous. So, 'kind' and 'generous.' the combination, means niceness and generosity, goodness and generosity.
Some translations have given it as 'beneficent,' which means 'befitting' out of His kindness and grace. That's correct, too. All of these English terms are correct. But understand that the term 'Rahman' means to show mercy. So whatever God does that's good to us is a help to us, is kindness to us, out of His graces. It comes from His mercy.
He's a merciful God. He doesn't like to see His Creatures suffer. He doesn't like to see His creatures experience bad times, and misery, so it is His way to extend mercy to them. He is Ar-Rahman.
THE NEXT NAME THAT is given is Ar-Raheem. These are the two most often repeated names in the Holy Qur'an. In fact; every chapter except the 9th Chapter begins like that.
Bismillah, With the Name of God. Ar-Rahman. Ar-Raheem. the Gracious, the Compassionate, or the Gracious, the Merciful, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
As I have explained, there are different English words and they all can be suitable for the names Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem. Ar-Raheem is translated as the Merciful, but some Arabs have translated it to mercy-giving. I hope with a few comments on this name I will be able to make clear to you why some of them feel that to say "the Merciful," is not good enough.
'Ra-hi-mah.' means to show mercy, or give mercy. And this word, 'ar-Rah-ma-nu.' means the one who gives out of His gracious gift, from His bounty, from His great and unlimited resources to His creatures, and He does it out of mercy.
AR-RAHEEM too, has a connection with this word: both have connection with this word.
THIS CONCEPT of God comes from the understanding that before the creature became conscious of its needs. God had already been merciful and kind to that creature.
The baby is in the womb of his or her mother for nine months. We don't believe that it's conscious of its needs. But look at the nice situation that God has put that baby in. It slept on a waterbed before we did. That's a nice situation for that baby. It's shockproof, so if anybody punched the mother's stomach, the water bag cushions it, right? Yes. So we believe that God, before we are even aware that we need something, has already been generous and kind to us.
We come into this world, and we say, 'oh, I'm poor. But it is you who's poor. The world is not poor, the world is rich.
Why are you poor? Either because you are not yet-aware, or you're not yet ready to change your situation and go after the riches, or there are overwhelming forces that are keeping you away from it.
BUT THE world is not poor, God is generous! He has filled the world with all that is rich, more than we can see, more than we consume.
God has already put it here. So He is Gracious. He is Gracious. Ar-Rahmanu, out of His mercy. He is Gracious. Then, Ar-Raheemu. The condition comes now, and God has provided, but His creatures can't see it. Then He comes and makes a way for His creatures to get it against those barriers, odds or obstructions. He comes and opens the way so he can get it. That's the ar-Rahman, ar-Raheem.

Movies 2020
Movies I watched in 2020. Updated soon after I watched them.
A Ghost Story [David Lowery, 2017, United States] No film has made me feel this melancholic ever. This is a film so profound, it examines existence in the simplest yet most esoteric way possible. It surely goes straight to the top of my all-time favourite list. 10/10
Portrait of a lady on fire [Celine Sciamma, 2019, France] Mesmerizing. It burns even before the fire and ends with unforgettable embers. a film of magnificent visuals, intoxicating sound design, and a screenplay of jawdropping surprises -- definitely on top of my list.
Parasite [Bong Joon-ho, 2019, South Korea] You can watch it in many different ways, perspective, and angle, and everything is just as clever. 10/10
John Denver Trending [Arden Rod Condez, 2019, Philippines] Aside from its central theme of mental health awareness, it also has an excellent juxtaposition of the culture of bullying and cyberbullying and its correlation with how the nature of superstitions and religions shapes a country’s humanity. 10/10
Knives Out [Rian Johnson, 2019, United States] a funny and thrilling tour de force, engrossing in its nicely calibrated tone. 9.5/10
Bliss [Jerrold Tarog, 2017, Philippines] touches the fine line between dreamland and reality, and examines dreams or aspirations as mere illusions. It is wicked. It’s well-crafted. It’s a mindfuck. It’s deeply, as in deeply affecting 10/10
Edward [Thop Nazareno, 2019, Philippines] I am so amazed at how this film shows struggles after struggles after struggles without spoonfeeding emotions. It’s a movie so simple yet so despairing. Everything of it is in the right place, it’s sublime. 10/10
The Invisible Man [Leigh Whannell, 2020, United States] a psychological thriller that metaphorically captures gaslighting, flawless and atypical. 9/10
1917 [Sam Mendez, 2020, United States] An ambitious and unnerving first-person perspective ride. 9/10
Eerie [Mikhail Red, 2018, Philippines] More than its excellent scare tactics, what I love about it most is its clever storytelling and use of metaphors. 9/10
Corpus Christi [Jan Komasa, 2020, Poland] A look into redemption, a faith that challenges, a miraculous portrayal of a mysterious preacher. 9/10
Ad Astra [James Gray, 2019, United States] Realistically seamless, perfectly portrayed claustrophobic film. 9/10
Tallulah [Sian Heder, 2016, United States] A small town film of great insights and intricate nuanced details. 8/10
Les Miserables [Ladj Ly, 2020, France] a contemporary portrait of the 1862 classic--immersive, passionate, and thoroughly engrossing. 8/10
Cities of Last Things [Wi Ding Ho, 2018, Hong Kong] Of visual metaphors and broken connections, this film as a lot of food for the soul to offer. 7.5/10
I'm Drunk I love you [JP Habac, 2017. Philippines] Makes you feel so much. Something too relatable, it’s terrific. If only for its music scoring, it’s already worth the watch. 7/10
18 Regali (18 Presents) [Francesco Amato, 2020, Italy] Such a tearjerker for something so flawed. 7/10
The Half of It [Alice Wu, 2020, United States] Refreshingly new take on love of different forms. Warm and soothing. 7/10
Booksmart [Olivia Wilde, 2019, United States] While it is smartly written, it is also really hilarious. Fun yet empowered, who says you can't do both? 7/10
Lost Girls [Liz Garbus, 2020, United States] Brings about melancholy, anger, compassion and all things human. Very well acted too. 7/10
A Sun [Chung Mong-hong, 2019, Taiwan] captures economic, social and personal struggles in such a relatable tone. 7/10
El Hoyo (The Platform) [Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, 2020, Spain] A social commentary on how society can rise up by working together, told in such wicked imagination. 7/10
Spiderman:Far From Home [Jon Watts, 2019, United States] Sets the tone higher of this new chapter of the franchise, it is entertaining and affecting, although far from perfect. 7/10
The Decline [Patrice Laliberte, 2020, Canada] Chilling and fun. Isn’t that the goal? 7/10
Joker [Todd Phillips, 2019, United States] Joaquin Phoenix owned it, no matter how faulty and flawed the movie is. 7/10
Iska [Theodore Boborol, 2019, Philippines] I find a lot of things problematic and some choices uncharacteristic but it is worth a watch. 7/10
Iisa [Chuck Gutierrez, 2015, Philippines] Visually stunning, questionable storyline. 7/10
Uncorked [Prentice Penny, 2020, United States] It makes me want to drink wine, more wine, and much much more wine. 7/10
Cuddle Weather [Rod Marmol, 2019, Philippines] Unconventional and intricate, something real and intimate. 7/10
Hogar (The Occupant) [Alex and David Pastor, 2020, Spain] Appalling and annoying, at least it is good at that. 6.5/10
Extraction [Sam Hargrave, 2020, United States] Action-packed film that doesn’t offer much of a motive for a suicide mission. 6.5/10
Yeh Ballet [Sooni Taraporevala, 2020, India] Quite an unconventional ballet movie starring two men of great potential. 6.5/10
Snapshots [Melanie Mayron, 2018, United States] I want to like it, I do. But it's too artificial for my taste. 6.510
LSS [Jade Castro, 2019, Philippines] Nothing special to be honest. 6.5/10
Alimuom [Keith Sicat, 2018, Philippines] For all its creativity and ambitious computer graphics work, it lacks human connection. 6.5/10
93 Days [Steve Gukas, 2016, Nigeria] Beautiful intention, badly acted. 6/10
Joshua [George Ratliff, 2007, United States] It was fine. Nothing special but it was fine. 6/10
Shift [Siege Ledesma, 2013, Philippines] Not your typical love story. 6/10
Maska [Neeraj Udwani, 2020, India] Annoying yet enjoyable at the same time, I don’t understand how it’s possible. 6/10
Unbelievable
Block Z [Mikhail Red, 2020, Philippines] Disappointing plot, infuriating characters. A downcast. 6/10
1898: Our Last Men in the Philippines [Salvador Calvo, 2017, Spain] Interesting perspective and atypical take on nationalism. Worth a watch for history lovers. 6/10
The Foreigner [Martin Campbell, 2018, United States] For a Jackie Chan movie, it’s a pretty boring one. 6/10
Paris is Us [Elisabeth Vogler, 2019, France] Slogs away into a plotless little chaos. 4/10

Here To Change It All...
Hey Guys -
So hmmm… What can I say? Ok, well I have been working on this Business Plan for the past 13 years. I took the past 13 years and developed a final plan to solve Homelessness, Poverty, and Sexual Exploitation. It took me around 3 years just to get an idea about and to learn how Crypto Currency can fund the entire business. Unfortunately due to Crypto Currency Mining the video cards I need for it are about $4,500.00ea. And I need 20 of them to complete one Build. On another note I invented a game app and the other night I invented another App idea too. It will be cool to get them made for real. Right now I’m kind of in an obsession with this Pastel Goth look and I want to create my own look by taking some Bell Bottoms from this company called Gypsy Rose and a cool Hoodie and then order Bulk Boxes of the same color Boas and a Hemp Back Pack and some clothing LED Lights and to sew them on to the clothing really carefully to get an amazing look and to buy some books on Cosplay Makeup, Glam Makeup, and Tutorials on Makeup for Black People and create my own Glam Goth look. I want to produce the images into products for my new store when I open it. I have worked for over a decade on my plan to rescue the homeless, people in need, exploited kids and adults and it took me three years of researching Ethereum Mining to0 figure out how I would fund my company. One NVIDIA.com Video card will cost me around $4,500.00 to get the best one they have and the most profitable of them and my build that I designed takes 20 Video Cards and brings in around $10K/mo. So I’ll make Hundreds of Thousands of them and fill every business location I gets basement with as many Builds as will fit and warehouses full of them too. Once I get going a lot of people will want for little anymore. I told my fiancé that I would set him up with another personal place of his own, like a loft or something and have several Ethereum Miners there just for him and I’ll show him how to use them and make money with them so that we’ll be on more equal footing and I’ll have legal documents setup that will supply him with his own place and no matter what our relationship turns out to be that I can’t cut him off or affect him in any way to upset his stability and financials. I hope to have it setup before we get married. I plan on having several locations to live over time but one of the very first locations that I get and setup is going to be a three bedroom apartment that I’ll setup to be displayed on my company’s home page in the same way that a 365 degree display of Real Estate Property is displayed except that I hope to use the help of Ad Agents to have special products setup, like displays from Coca Cola, and other Brands and to get the Companies displayed to provide donations for the advertisements.
I hope to land contracts that are with like laundry soap and cleaning supplies and brands of Pre-Paid Credit and Gift Cards, and Electronics, etc. To use only their brands at my locations for special discounts or with some kind of residual donations from them, so things like Bed Bath and beyond and Companies that sell bedding and so on. I hope to get special accounts or even to open Hundreds of Reseller Accounts and purchase from my own accounts. I’ll have fractureme.com High Def Glass Photos hanging on the walls that display images of homelessness and people living in poverty, etc. As the artwork and otherward the location will be setup with Height of Technology in i9t and Luxury and excellent decorations and renovations with new smart appliances and if possible in home laundry too. The entire apartment will be setup to look as if a family lives there that has two kids, a boy and girl and the rooms will be fully setup and stocked with clothing and desks and school supplies, software, text books, reading books, game stations and games, CDs, DVDs, Anime, and Desktop and Laptop on the bed with MP3 Player and cell phone on its charger and even a few pieces of trash in the trash cans and so on, even the adults rooms will be setup the same with a Home Office and files in the living room, etc. Every room will come with their own safes and have finger print and key pad locking doors and in the safes will c0ome an envelope full of cash and several types of pre-paid cards. The computers will be top of the line and Extreme types, totally maxed out, with extensive external Hard Drives and full of useful software that is fully paid for and more. Once the 365 degree walkthrough Video is made than everything will be packed into specially positioned glass cases for display, so like the laptop, cell phones, digital cameras, camcorders, Gift Cards, and some other things will go into displays so that when there are walk trough's to help gain donors less can be stolen easily. I will spend a lot of time setting up the location with a simply safe security system and register everything in the apartment with renters insurance and register them with their own individual companies. I’ll have the entire place setup with services and each room with smaller Ethereum Miners that work and are actively earning money and have monitors on the walls that display the earnings and exchanges pricing in each room. But the apartment will be maintained by my financial Company that I get. Every Account would be active, the lease, the cable, the Home Phone, mobile phones, Internet, and all the individual emails, and all the software will be registered to those emails and even Turn-Key online businesses and so on setup as examples and displays for the apartment and newsletters, and more with ads for the Turn-Key Businesses. The files in the Offices and kids rooms will hold the Hard Copy files of all the Accounts and Registration Info and Gamer Info. Emails and Advertisement info and more, including the online versions, Browser favorite links, and profile saves, address books filled out and more. It seems like a lot but every tiny detail will be through of from every item being photographed and filed with their own insurance, registrations, and receipts, to even unique personally searched out and handpicked USB Drives that are installed with PortableApps.com software and paid versions of the software on those apps and all of it filed and registered both digitally and in Hard Copy.
And there will be a personalized welcome Manual for each person and all their accounts and how the apartment works, the Wi-Fi locks, the smart TV Accounts, their personal safe’s codes, and every computer log-in, how and where to find all their Hard Copy and Digital Account info and if something comes up missing or breaks how to file for renters insurance to replace it and police reports and how to contact their financial Agent for financial Aid and for when they want to go to college or to file a new bill or account for them to manage and also how their personal Ethereum Miner earns them their own money so that they are not tied to their financial allowance’s leash. There will be so much attention to detail because it will be the display house/apartment used for fund raising. It will be decorated and setup with extra details like Artist’s Piggy Banks around the rooms to collect donations and drop safes for people to donate Pre-Paid Cards and Checks and Cash, cell phones and I’ll have a Turn-Key Business in the home that people can buy and donate gift cards and cell phones, clothing cards, and tablets, laptops and to donate money by credit cards too. I’ll even setup cat climbing towers in all the corners and High End cat walks and rests on the walls and toy holders, etc. even Automatic cat boxes that clean and wash their own litter and cat supplies and dog products if the apartment allows dogs and more considerations that are suited for hosting gatherings and even just ease of today’s technological society like a moveable arm under a cabinet in the kitchen that holds a water proof tablet that is dedicated solely to cooking sites, and Home Food Delivery services. There will be cool little personal touches too from unique USB Drives to interesting lamps like this collectors Yoda Lamp and displays of air plants and even like on the desks will be pencils and pens with my company’s custom website on them and possibly even Antique Typewriter on a typing desk with several boxes of extra ribbon and Company Letterhead Quality Paper stacked next to it, possibly with a sheet in the type writer with the beginning page of one of my novels on it or a letter addressed to my First Business Location. And a typed and stamped addressed envelope next to it. I’ll do things like add magazines to the coffee table and things like expensive items will get locked inside display cubes or fastened to where they are. But most of the place will be meant to be fully interactive and the greeters and Hosts of the Donor Parties will be able to show the guests the fully interactive features of the apartment and all of its services, etc. From Posters on the kid’s walls and little Anime and Action Figurines to online Gamer Merchandise of in-game-content from the most popular games like Fortnight and stuff and most of the Books and movies will be excellent Sci-fi Hard Copy Novels of the Greats and books I’ve Loved. The Anime will be Deluxe Full Seasons with all the extra content and really cool 0ones and really good DVD Collections that are kid appropriate and in the parents room they will have more Adult titles like the complete Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal TV Series and Dexter Series, and John Wick Series and other Good Ones and in the kids room will be Ultimate Gamer Setups in a relaxation area away from sight of the desk so the kids won’t game and watch TV while they do homework and out of the bed area so they can have a shut down time and not game and stuff while they are supposed to shut down and sleep and they’ll have an Xbox, Play Station and Gamer Computer with all the VR and Bells and Whistles and even google Home Video Slate Devices on their Desk and By their Beds. The home will have several of them by each sitting area and then the Dot versions mounted on walls around the halls and a water proofed one in the bathroom so that there is whole home connectivity along with all the Tablets and Laptops and PCs connected to the Norton Secured Network as well as smart lights and even security cameras and a Door Peep Hole Device that Projects a large Video of who is at the door and takes photos of who comes to the door and sends it to the owners phone and that also allows for smart lock activation. The apartment will be the epitome of Beauty, Luxury, and Comfort and people that come to the home will be able to view installed manikins that are wearing company uniforms for all around seasons and types, the most expensive being the Winter ne that comes with heated gloves and socks and shoe insoles and Extreme Cold Military Boots and heat shell Jackets and full snow outfits. The outfits will come with their own pedestals that will have fliers on them that explain what the services that they go to are and the equipment needed for each one, like the House Keeping one, the Personal Assistant, the Odd Job, and snow removal, the Food Delivery one and like how much it will cost for the work vans and trucks and snow blowers and shovels and painting/cleaning supplies and the storage unit rentals for the equipment and cost of the uniforms that will each have my company Logo Embroidered on them and on each will be an employee Tag just like all employees will have. Another presentation will be video presentations played on loops on the screens in the living room that explain how my company will hire students fresh out of colleges that are entering the fields of nursing, psychology, and social work, legal aid, and about the services that will come with my company that will help any homeless person with absolutely nothing and addiction issues fully recover their lives with personally adapted services and complete financial support so that even if they are dealing with drug issues that they won’t need to sell their new property or prostitute for funding and that they will receive full support while they attend to their rehab needs as well as fully paid trade and college schooling and financial investments that are everything from timed trust payouts at major age milestones, to retirement and regular funds for travel around the world. There will be full employment programs inside my company and in the mainstream markets and my company will pay companies to keep employees hired and to hire people in need as well as options for customers that do things like use our yard service as incentives to keep my employees hired like getting major yard work done, in ground lawn sprinklers installed and landscaping, home repairs, and other improvements and upgrades to their utilities and home like the best water heaters, Hot Tubs, new Fences and so on to keep my company on contract for lawn care and snow removal and housekeeping and food delivery and so on. It will all be done by professionals in the fields when done and then my clients will up keep it with a flawless and no questions asked insurance and replacement process in case something is ever broken or stolen and there will be tons of other services since everyone in the world suffers from some state of poverty and need, that my company will collect even my customers into my fold and provide them with financial aids, paid schooling, debt payment, and doing things like picking up car and home payments and medical needs. Some families that have Autistic Children or Severally Handicapped family members or people with major medical needs or who are getting too old to take care of those family members, my company will search out and supply them with things like 24/7 live in Aids and money for uncovered medicines or experimental Treatments that their HMOs won’t cover and cosmetic Treatments and more. My company will do more than just that. I’ll use schools of Architecture to create fortified locations of Housing for over 100 Ethereum Miners that will bring in over $1 Million per month and have them built into schools so that teachers will be able to receive Top Pay and the schools will have more than enough for the best in school supplies and equipment and teaching Aids and like an example would be that the limited language learning classes would have a full computer network setup with every language that Rosetta Stone’s Language software offers and every student will have the ability to choose what language to learn. There will be funds for every extracurricular activity and my plans are to adopt the Chinese and Japanese attendance unit where kids swipe in and out of classes except I’ll make it so that kids will actually get paid cash to attend classes and to do homework and extra credit and science fairs and if they aren’t doing well to get tutors and to help others and that it will do things like give economics classes real money and be able to do real things with the money and learn firsthand and school papers and news how to do very real publications and run ads and more. My company will invest in local Mom & Pop shops and the community and get them to keep selling at rock bottom prices but selling High End Products so that the struggling community that uses them will suddenly be able to afford things like really good toilet paper, and snacks for their kids and eat well every day and even though I won’t be able to reach everyone and help the whole city, by proxy the community will become happier and their mood change will make the community better as a whole. I’ll do the same for places that serve food and coffee shops too so that they can drop their prices and use better quality foods and cleaning supplies and decorations and pay better because than the community will be able to come out and eat more and have more family experiences to build a healthier family around and memories and the community will become stronger for it. I’ll do things like take a Digital Camera and GoPro and go to every run-a-way shelter, and battered woman’s shelter and Underground Railro0ad project and Drop-In Center and Teen Challenge Center and photograph the entire area and interview everyone and find out what they need and what needs fixing and what they wish they could provide and install the best beds and most comfortable sheets and fluffiest comforters and turn them into wonder locations and expand their services and get all the kids and people new clothing and school supplies and make it rain and put them on above comfortable expense accounts. I’ll do the same for Orphanages and Un-Adopted kids that are too old, all the while setting up Luxury Apartments and Auction Houses and emptying out every shelter and soup kitchen and giving these Betrayed Souls what society should have done for them from day one. There are a million tiny things that I’ll be doing and I’ll write you all about them in upcoming letters. It took me 9 years to figure out how to do all this and it will take major Donors and Corporate Donors for me to afford to build enough Ethereum Miners to afford to do it quickly. But I’m going to dedicate the rest of my life to thi9s. Mommy Anne is giving me a $10,000.00 Trust and I’ll put it into my first beginner Ethereum Miner and it will only earn me about $2K/mo. And I’ll have to save and buy more of the best NVIDIA Video Cards and add to it. My build will hold 20 Cards and cost me around $88.505.70 to complete and make me around $10K/mo. when done. My goal is to reach 100 builds as fast as possible using Kickstarters.com and every crowd funding site on the internet and every social media network from around the globe. My work won’t just start and stop in Minnesota or even the USA. Once I am at a point where I have enough Ethereum Miners I’ll be able to expand them at a rate of 50-100 or more at a time creating $1 Million/mo. Jumps in income and higher with more donors and my work will jump boarders and I’ll hire kids and young adults from ar0und the world to locate and rescue their needy and sexually exploited and Brothel Children and people living in Poverty. I just hope I can do it fast enough to see it all happen before I die. I would start gofundme.com and kickstarter.com and dozens of other crowd funding sites and spread them across every social media and network possible but I need a cell phone. I’d also write to several Ad Agencies and give them a rundown of my plans and what I want them to do and have them create the Crowd Funding Ads for me because each site is different, has different formats, options for photos and Banners, and voice and the amount of words for each site and burn them onto disc for me and label them so that when I get out all I have to do is cut and paste and upload image 1,2,3 into spot 1,2,3 and know that there’s no grammar errors and I don’t come off sounding like a scam artist but I have no money for that. I’d also like to get Uncle Steve to help me setup my Business Financials so it’s fully tax exempt and so I can do angel giving like write random checks or give out cash or life time paid phones and more and write it off but he refuses to acknowledge me. Anyways… I haven’t written or spoken too many of you in over a couple decades and I wanted to tell you about my new life. Oh I’m an ordained Minister now too. There are several fun things that I want to do that are just to do because they are fun and good for the kid at heart and things that all kids wish they could do. I want to invest a lot into kid’s lives and their fun factor so I want to do things like get big into street fashion from around the world and to create an opportunity for kids to dress in amazing outfits from Japan and that are High Fashion and Cosplay styles and totally awesome so that going to school and dressing up crazy and amazing just becomes a daily part of life. In schools I want to start Drone Racing Programs with Regulation Drones and awesome courses. I want to get schools into robotics and nautical robotics and aerial Drones and to inspire kids to create water cleaners and air cleaners and alternate fuel and to program the most popular Virtual Reality World Communities as classes and to setup classes that have real life work training to them like how to use complicated office copiers and corporate email systems and multi-line phone setups and digital faxes and to change toners and create orders and write and produce proposals for meetings and run projectors and make digital presentations transfer from your personal office to the proper conference room on time and run flawlessly and to be able to do it using multiple types of software and types of the leading tools found in companies today.
I want to create several Safe Zone Houses in Drug Zones that were “Trap Houses” where people use drugs or sell drugs out of and clean them out and fix them up really well and set them up to be locations that street kids can come and Game and to get Hot meals and Great sandwiches at any time Day or Night and that people can come and get Hot Showers and wash their clothing and get Hygiene Products and fresh underwear and new clothing and shoes and Back Packs and school supplies and can get medical care from the nursing staff and have emergency beds Sometimes prostitutes and Drug Addicts need a hot shower, some good food to eat and a place that is safe to sleep at night behind a door that locks where they can feel safe for a moment in the Hell they are experiencing and a locker and safe to lock their property in so that they know that they can actually fall completely asleep without fear that someone will go through their pockets or demand sex. I want to setup each room with as much luxury and comfort as I dare with addicts coming and going and kids without safe homes. I want the beds to be super comfy and to even have weighted blankets and body pillows because weighted blankets give people a sensory feeling of safety and comfort and body pillows allow people to cuddle with someone who takes nothing in return. That is important. The bed must be super comfy and cozy, with too many pillows with a sitting chair that has a throw on it and book case filled with great novels and Manga Books and Built in Computers with a wide variety of Downloaded music and complimentary MP3 Player and paper for writing and an Antique Typewriter with Letterhead typing paper and Envelopes with a sign that says “free mail service down stairs.” I’ll have a laser printer attached to the computer and scanner and hookups for phones available. There will be a decent sound system and gaming counsel with downloaded and installed games on it and Xbox Live Account Active and setup, all secured so it can’t be stolen. There will be an intercom system and by the bed sweets and pamphlets for my Life Recovery Services. The rooms will not be meant for long term stays, usually just one-three days unless there are special and extreme cases. In the common areas will be ultimate gaming setups and multiple mounted TVs that have the ability to connect to wireless headphones so people won’t have to compete for sound if they are watching multiple TVs at once. In the back area will be a full computer lab and education center setup for kids and I’ll have staff that can help anyone with school work they need to get done. Like I said there are a million little things that I plan on doing with my Business. I found a vending company that allows for digital pricing and for an extra $900.00 I can add a credit card processer to it so I’m going to set several types up in different locations. I’m going to use retro ones that take coins and place them in apartment complexes that dispense single serve laundry detergent boxes and fabric softener packs and snack machine pop machine mixes. Than in some locations I’m going to use sources of pre-painted and sculpted fingernails that you can buy off line like on Etsy.com, Tumblr.com, and other sites and put them in machines that are at like malls and possibly schools and arcades and places kids go and have them wired to process credit cards and then put in random packs Pre-Paid Credit Cards with High Balances and advertise the chance to win one. I plan to run donation funding campaigns so that I can afford to supply them free and laptops with paid wireless PCI Cards for free to the kids at St. Jude’s Cancer Research Hospital and other Hospitals and Mental Health Programs that can’t afford to provide them for their patients but who’s patients need a distraction from their extreme illnesses and to do something with their families when they come to visit and for patients to be entertained by with their families. Something that happens to every person with a mental health issue that goes into the mental health system is that they end up losing every possession that they own and their entire apartments full of their lives get tossed in the trash. It’s happened to me 13 times and when I was young and pretty I ended up prostituting to replace over $26,000.00 of property some times. And so do many others. So one thing I’ll do is setup an apartment and property cleaning and packing service that washes all the dirty clothing and sheets and dishes and surfaces and professionally packs everything properly in bubble wraps and garment bo0xes and move and packs the entire apartment, moving it to self-storage units that the patients social security will pay for and for the paranoid patients photos and videos of the process will be taken and delivered on DVDs and the entire apartment will be cleaned and painted back to white with fire resistant paint so that their deposit will get returned to them. Because the mental health system never slows down from sending people back to mental hospitals the business will be a stable service from the start. I want to do some really cool things for kids in schools and all around on buying they super amazing clothing from Japan and China and other fashionable street looks that they normally couldn’t get or are too expensive for them and their families. There was this young boy that actually did it for his school but he got suits and proper fashion and I think it’s really important for kids not to lose that childhood part too soon so instead of suits I want to buy them awesome clothing that fits their aesthetic and that is beyond their reach financially and make it really fund and cool to be able to dress in their own uniqueness and not the regular jeans and T-Shirts. I am also going to download countless tutorials on how to do Beauty Tips like nails crafting, Hair and Makeup techniques from the simple to the extremely complex and to create DVD Collections of all of them and put them in special DVD Cases that hold 10 and 20 DVDs and maybe over 100 Tutorials and then sell them in Genre collections in magazines like Teen Beat and 17 and Girl Magazines. I’ll also do the same for people that are into crafting from the easy to really technical and some from landscaping to building computers and smart mirrors and more and collections of clothing patters and fashion techniques and cosplay techniques and more and sell those in collections in their genre of magazines too. I’ll do the same with cooking tutorials and recipe collections that are all both video and photos and print .pdf formats. I’ll do genres of Home Design and Projects from hanging pictures to making gardens to extreme projects like building underground Prepper Bunkers. Most of these collections I’ll build up over time I spend surfing the internet. I do a lot of Data Mining and read and learn a lot because I'm curious but now I’ll have focused products to create. Something else that I’ll do is assemble teaching tools for classrooms by using paid accounts on sites like curiosity stream and locating lectures and explanations on sciences and other subjects from simple math to high level theoretical math, sciences, biology, space science, robotics and AI, Virtual Worlds. I’ll even put together sex education presentations of different types and present them to multiple schools for review. Some schools don’t allow real sex education, some teach abstinence, others only teach STDs and so on. It will be a balancing act. Some might want diagrams and some might actually allow real images of sex organs and then there are practices of different cultures to consider and explanations of circumcisions and the Muslim culture that clip or burn off female baby’s clitoris and the explanations of their shawls. There are the full stories behind puberty and when females go through maturity and what they need to do when that happens. The changes in Boys and Girls the ages they change at, Birth Control, options of rape pregnancy pill options and the ways that people can give up a child if it’s too much for them instead of killing it. How adoptions work, the options of sperm donations, egg donations, and surrogacy, the birth process, C sections, and vaginal bi9rths, the drugs (epidermal) the effect of drugs and alcohol that will go through breast milk into the baby and HIV and how HIV is inside Breast milk. Types of parenting same sex parenting and relationships and even same sex rapes and domestic violence and more. The healthy beauty behind same sex relationships not just straight ones. Also things like medical issues, Handicaps, Autism, and more and pre born and medical dangers that can happen and what to do, ways to prepare for if your baby has a disability and more. It may take a ton of work to do but once a school accepts the educational program the work will be worth it. I want to create Job skill development programs and more. I want to actually change the entire education system. And the Prison Reform system. I’ll write more about those things in another letter. I (have a ton of personal experiences that give an insight into the world that most people don’t have and motivations that people don’t understand why someone would spend a fortune only to give it all away again. The thing is that money and wealth mean nothing to me. It’s just an annoyance and an obstacle and a social retardant. My Business will solely be about making people and their lives and futures and not about making profits and products. My entire life has consisted of setting up stages and being an advertisement so that I could make money and void of friendships, love, or connections, not even to my own family which has been my greatest sadness. Mommy Anne has been my only connection to hearing about my family’s lives and what’s going on with them my whole life and Aunt Barbie writes me about her farm life but that is about it. Rarely do I get a letter from Julia or Aunt Beverly. Once I went 5 whole years without coming into physical contact with another person or speaking to anyone and I think it really freaked mommy Anne out that I’m not talkative or Haggier but I’ve been conditioned as a child and again since the age of 11yo. When I entered the mental Hospital Systems and group homes never to touch or hug anyone because it’s not supposed to happen in hospitals and group homes which is where I was raised for 89% of my life. I’ve maybe spent 10 hours with my own Brother during my entire life and maybe spoken with him about half that without having actually any meaningful exchanges other than casual polite conversations not counting just being in the same location at the same time. And dramatically less with the rest of my family. I mainly just dressed nice and sat around waiting to be talked to or asked questions. I faced Addiction, Mental illness, multiple sexual assaults, rape that left me with HIV, Contracting HIV, Homelessness twice, forced prostitution, Two Attempted murders on me, a Home invasion and six suicide attempts and child abuse and a laundry list a mile long including starvation and eating out of dumpsters because I refused to prostitute alone without even a card from my family like “Hey sorry you got HIV” or “Too bad you ended up with a mental illness for 30 years” or “Hey heard you are struggling with addiction, that’s rough.” or “hey your homeless, it’s not much but here’s $20 get some dollar burgers at McDonalds.” or “hmmm… raped! Rough.” or “Hay when you are going to bring a boyfriend to X-Mass?” or “Suicide, wish you wouldn’t do that we like having you around.” Once I went into the Hospital after a suicide attempt that involved 3 cop cars pulling me off a ledge on the side of a parking ramp and I weighed 118lbs. I usually weigh 175-180lbs and that is skinny for myself. I know things like friendships and Love from a boyfriend and happi9ness because of the absolute void of it in my life. I know it perfectly and intimately on a deep level because I have never experienced it. It’s an odd kind of knowledge to have. I use to watch YouTube videos and Troll peoples feeds, not so much as to observe their lives as much as to see what they had on their bedroom walls and what they wear and what was around them and try to figure out what it was that gave them all the feelings and excitements and joys in life that I never knew. All my life I never had a single poster on my wall or anything that wasn’t a tool for survival, no plants, no color paint on my walls, nothing that would display warmth or comfort or personality or a Home. And it was all trappings of a stage set that I occupied but never truly lived in. The only thing that had decoration or meaning of any kind was inside my Computers and Hard Drives and my Data Mining Collections of Music, .pdf files, photos, and social media and blogs and modeling photos. Outside of the digital world I had nothing but pain and suffering, rage, and sadness, and isolation, and complete loneness and mental and emotional damage that eventually became so vast and so deep that I had to use as much drugs as possible not just to fight it back and numb myself to it but to even remove myself from the equation, for many years I just stayed alive out of spite of it all. It was one thing that broke me out of my inner bondage and that was a homeless man that I’d passed over a dozen times and he always sat in his spot and I saw him that morning while going to a client’s house and then that night after dancing into exhaustion at a club. It was late and the snow had started to fall but in a ring around his body was a bare circle from his body heat and he hadn’t moved all day. Across the street was a Target and the man had nothing, no food containers around him, nothing. People had walked by him all day and shopping at Target and no one thought once to go across the street and give him a pop or can of soup and I had been a prostitute for years helping dozens of homeless kids and minors with a safe free place to stay, even pulling tricks to pay other people’s rent and maxed out two credit cards buying a fellow meth addict food and toiletries and that one man sat there all day, every day and no one helped him and Target Managers never gave him a job. Shortly after that I came to this Center and for the last 13 years here in this long term treatment program, every single day for hours a day and deep into the night I have written thousands of pages in Journals, collected every magazine and catalog I could find, filled over 45 journals with notes and resources and links and scrap booked and spent my Dad’s entire $4,800,00 inheritance money from when he died on Business Manuals and researched Crypto Currency for 3 years, read 5 books on it and spent years going to every site in the books and checking them out, watching YouTube videos, going onto bulletin boards and blogs until I learned what I needed to learn to design the most powerful Ethereum Miner possible all the while with a goal to end Homelessness, Unemployment, sexual exploitation and to improve the world and fought for years just to have the right to use my free time to write and study. And I solved it. I figured out a social service Business that will fully recover almost anyone's life and it has finally given me an ounce of peace. Now I just need the people here to give me the chance I need to get out and do it and to live a better life than the one that was quickly killing me. I’ve spent 13 years working on my plans and there are a lot of them and I hear repeatedly to focus on one thing but what people don’t understand is that it is all one thing. I’m not helping one or two people. I’m helping over 30,000 homeless people and exploited kids and people living in poverty. One thing can’t solve that. An entire population of people not only need money but a place to live, jobs to support themselves, and other help and those helpers need to get paid and other communities need fortifications to help the rest of the population that is in need and it’s not for one summer or one year or even 30 years. Every year hundreds of kids become exploited, thousands become homeless and more live in poverty and the cycle will continue long after I’m dead. I have to start building the strongest foundation possible that will last and support generations of people now and long after I’m dead and that won’t happen with me getting a pizza delivery job or a lawn mowing business going. I have to start something so revolutionary that those that pick up where I leave will one day be able to change the lives of Millions of people in need and people in need around the world and it will take Huge Donors and Crowd Funding and rewriting of policies and dismantling of antiquated industries and building new ones.

Lethe ~ Reaching You~
Pairing: Jumin H. x MC4 Summary:  Born as a powerful wizard, unable of feeling, a strange encounter and a tempting suggestion will lead him to another world, in a new life, in order to reach her. Will he play the game to the end? Note: As I am not very confident in my English, I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes. I hope that you will enjoy the story anyway.  [Prologue]
Day 1
In a world driven by magic, nothing seemed impossible. Especially for those who held immense power. But immense power in that word could be a curse for those who held it. Misuse, either intentional or not, was not rare, but the true curse -as people used to say- was that wizards could not truly love.
That did not necessarily mean that they were unable to harbor romantic feelings; more that they were afraid to do so, or because they were more in love with their power instead of their partner. There were also many cases of wizards who, while harboring these kind of feelings, they were driven mad by them. At east that's what the stories said and people always kept their distance. Were they afraid of their powers or of what they could do with it for the people they loved, who could tell? Falling in love with a wizard was always considered a taboo.
Thus, a romance between a wizard and a human, a case of true love, was rare but marrying out of convenience was not. When he looked at his friends, he wondered if destiny brought them together. If true love was supposed to be so rare for people like them, then it should be probably it. But they what about him then? Just when he decided that he had no use of this kind of a relationship, doubts were filling his mind and then that happened.
Were they right? Was he loosing his mind after all? Day after day, he was visiting the lake, leaning over the water, impatiently waiting to see her. At first, it was pure curiosity, mixed with a subtle attraction, but as the days were passing, he found himself, as he would describe, enchanted. First, it was her smile, then they way she blinked when she was confused. Moments of naivety, the way she was awkwardly touching the tip of her bangs while she was talking to a stranger, even how she wrinkled her nose when she was getting annoyed. Moments, snippets of her everyday life… and how… how he was dying to hear her voice. He was praying every time that he would be able to, since the first time he heard her. And every chance he had to do so, he was afraid that he could not listen to her properly over his heartbeat.
Day by day, he was loosing himself more and more. He was standing there for hours. Even Elizabeth could not distract him. He lost his appetite, but felt a constant weird feeling in his stomach. He wasn't feeling weak but felt feverish all the time. The part around the lake bloomed wildly. To his eyes was the most special place after all.
It wasn't like he was trying to hide it, but this change in him did not go unnoticed. In his rare visits, his friend realized that something was not normal. However, trying to respect his friend, he did not push him to open up, despite voicing his concerns.
Sadly, he was not the only one to notice. Wizards were not uncommon to have an aide, especially if they were widely recognized. In this case, his loving friend was accompanied of a rather troubling one. Caught for mischief and brought to serve as a reform, the auburn-haired mage watched the two men talking from afar. It wasn't hard for him to notice the surprise face he made then they announced their sudden visit or how conflicted he looked when his friend told him that he would be staying there for a while. Though he did welcome him as a guest to his house, he did not look very happy about it.
As the two of them immersed in a conversation, the young mage excused himself from the room, alleging that he would like to rest, but he did not hesitate to leave the castle completely. He curiously walked towards the lake and finally stood over the spot the man was standing when they arrived. A bit hesitant at first, he reached his hand over the water and clicked his tongue frustrated. With his powers suppressed, her was not sure if it would work but he proceeded anyway… Reverse.
He was taken aback. The image of a girl… It was the last thing he was expecting to see, but what surprised him the most was the image of a world he was not familiar with. Tall buildings and strange carriages with no animals, he felt excited. Was it a bridge between the two worlds? He touched the water but his hand sunk in it. Nothing happened. So it was more like a mirror then.
"Oh, she is eating..."
She was munching something crunchy out of a weird back… and though it didn't look very appetizing to him, the girl looked really happy with it. She even did a small victory dance after the first bit. He let a chuckle. Who would look like that while eating something that looked like this? He covered his smile with his hand. Actually, she was kind of cute now that he was looking at her.
"Oh..." the image vanished. He was a bit disappointed.
Now what should he do? The wizard's secret was out of the bag. A link to another world, a strange girl. The mechanics of the world always amazed him, but what was thrilling him the most was the idea of another world, the opportunity to escape from a life he did not consider particularly exciting. Finding a rift and not trying to use it… The Wizard was a strange man. If he had his powers and if he wanted to see a girl to the point of not eating properly because he was thinking of her, he would do everything he could to cross to the other side.
"Luciel..."
Ah, he hated that name. Smile… Smile… He forced one to his face almost naturally. His master was there followed by that man. He looked restless, his long dark brown hair here tied back, his bangs here falling falling messily into his face. He looked restless or was he pissed? What was that man thinking? Falling for an unknown girl while he was good looking and powerful enough to take any bride he wanted. Keeping something like that to himself, shouldn't it be be considered selfish?
"Victor..." "What are you doing her?" "Ah… I just felt like I was needing fresh air." "You should not come here..."
So that man finally spoke to him after ignoring him all this time. The flustered expression on his face brought a strange sense of satisfaction to the young mage. Maybe he could make use of this. He grinned.
"I thought I would find Elizabeth here, but she was with you all along! Come here, Elly!"
He was ready to hug the fluffy, white cat when her owner blocked his way. His onyx eyes looked at him coldly. Elizabeth hid under his purple cloak. He started back, almost challenging for a moment and then smiled widely. It was clear that this man would never want to share anything precious to him, but at the same time he didn't seem to know how it was to loose something precious.
"Come on! Just a hug!" he laughed. "Go-away," he hissed. "Ivan..."
The stern voice of his friend made him back down. The look on his face softened as Victor shook his head in disappointment. He looked down, a bit embarrassed and then picked up his cat softly, not before giving him one last warning look.
"Victor, as I said, you are welcomed to stay at my castle as long as you wish… But this is my special place. I don't really want an outsider walking around freely." "OK… Ok… There is no need to worry… It's not like I will steal your girl!" he said.
He almost regretted saying that. As much as he was hoping for a reaction, he could not expect one like that. He took a step back nervously. This man's glare felt so empty… It was... frightening. Were they the eyes of a man who was ready to do everything for the things he thought he owned?
"Elizabeth is clearly yours after all," he continued.
The man paused for a moment as he heard these words. It seemed that he realized that he had overreacted for no reason. He looked at the red haired man silent for a moment, the lowered his glare and then gazed at his cat who was meowing in his hard. His fingers run through her white fur gently. He let a weak smile.
"That's a fact. Elizabeth will never betray me," he muttered, the cat meowed in response. "Victor… No matter how much I like you, I'd like you to keep your aide in check. Well then, I bit you goodnight. I'll make sure your rooms will be ready for the night."
He turned his back to them and left.
"So cold," he commented but stopped after seeing Victor glaring at him. "I know, I know… my bad," he held up his arm condescendingly. "Please, don't rill up trouble," Victor warned him before following his friend to the castle.
He stood there. His smile had vanished.
"It's not like I was trying to!" he cried. "It's not like I was trying to..." he repeated and looked at the lake. "But I can not promise anything..."

Note: I thought that the use or the names Victor and Ivan were not confusing for use. I thought I used use different names for the magic world. Victor somehow felt appropriate for V. Also his character design kind of reminded him Victor from Yuri on Ice and I thought it suited him. As for Jumin, I found out that the name meaning was similar to that of the name John, but I went for the Russian Ivan anyway, instead of keeping the J. Somehow it sounded more fitted for a wizard.
That's it. Thanks for reading!

Ten Past Six // Johnten NCT : Chapter Ten
Summary: If Ten could describe his relationship with Johnny he would say it was like being in the same city and yet being in a long distance relationship without there being an actual relationship. Because if Ten was head over heels in love with Johnny, he was pretty sure Johnny was as oblivious to his feelings as ever.

Chapter 10: The plot thickens
Tumblr media
Kun groaned as his phone woke him up, ringing shrilly. It had been quite a busy night and it was not even seven yet, judging by the clock in his room. He reached for his phone, wondering who wasn’t letting him sleep.
“Doyoung, I’m sleeping,” he said, voice hoarse.
“Kun, come over right now.”
Kun sat up, hearing the serious tone of Doyoung’s voice. “Is everything okay? Is it the members?”
“No, it’s you. Dammit, what were you thinking, Kun?”
Kun felt a dread set in at the bottom of his heart. He immediately knew what Doyoung was talking about. He just knew. “I’m coming over.”
He dressed quickly, way too quickly for someone whose mind was a whirlwind of quick thoughts and questions, thinking explanations and excuses knowing very well that it was the truth he would have to finally own up to.
He woke up Lucas. “Hey, there’s an emergency. You’re the designated adult until I’m back.”
Lucas blinked. “Wha—Is everything okay? Is there something I can help with?”
Kun smiled at him. “Nothing I can’t manage, I hope. Just take care of stuff here, okay?”
“Of course. Call me if you need anything.”
“I’ll get going then. Bye.”
Lucas walked with him till the door and gave him a packet of chips. “Don’t go hungry.”
Kun waved at him and closed the door behind him.
Lucas looked around the empty living room and said to himself, “I guess, I should fix up breakfast for the kids then.” He didn’t really know what to make except for ramen so he woke up Jaemin who nodded, sleepily, before getting up to make some coffee, cereal and toast for everyone.
Lucas knocked on Ten’s door. “Ten hyung, you didn’t even have dinner. You have to eat some breakfast at least. Just let me give you a tray of food.”
And even though Ten was quite awake and quite hungry, he was too miserable to face the others. So, he said a mild, “I’m not hungry.”
Lucas sighed. “Okay, that’s it.” He turned to the dreamies. “Let’s find a YouTube tutorial on how to pick locks and just…”
“Break into his room and drag him out?” Renjun’s eyes lit up. Chensung cheered.
“Not drag him out exactly. A milder version maybe?”
And that was how they ended up picking the lock of Ten’s room. Before Ten could even say anything, Lucas was slipping into his room after having told the kids, “Let me handle this. You all eat breakfast.”
Lucas stopped after he closed the door behind him because the room was in a mess. “What happened?”
Ten was sitting on the bed, glaring at him. “How dare you break into my room?”
“Did you try redecorating?” Lucas said, gesturing at toppled over box of knickknacks, pictures and books strewn across the floor.
“Your humour is going bad,” Ten said, looking away.
“I think one of your paint bottles broke,” Lucas said. “Wait, I’ll get a cloth to clean it.” He returned with a tray of food which he deposited wordlessly beside Ten and began to clean up the room.
“Throw them away,” Ten said, mournfully picking up a piece of toast.
“Your pictures and sketchbooks? Ten, I’m going to put everything in your shelves. You can sort through them later. If you really don’t want your stuff, I’ll put it in my cupboard until you need them.”
Ten groaned. “Why are you here all kind and wise? Where is my Kun? I need to bother someone.”
Lucas smiled brightly. “I’m the designated adult. Kun had to leave due to some emergency. It’s not serious.”
“He made you the designated adult? Excuse me, I’m elder to you.”
Lucas stood straight and just looked around the room as an  answer.
Ten blushed. He began eating and picked up his phone. He caught sight of his reflection and was grateful that Lucas hadn’t commented anything on his appearance because his face was puffy and his eyes were bloodshot, harsh remnants of the past few hours. He unlocked his phone and even though he hadn’t been expecting it, his heart dropped because there was no “good morning” message from Johnny at the usual ten past six at the crack of dawn.
He scrolled up and it saddened him because it seemed like this was the first in what seemed like forever that there wasn’t a text that said, New message from Johns! (6:10 am). So, this was another thing he had taken for granted. He wondered just how many more he would find and whether it would always hurt this much. He closed his eyes and threw away his phone towards his pillow.
Lucas was grumbling. “Why did you throw your sketchbooks? And this is a record…it could have broken. Wow, I’m glad that that painting is still on the wall.”
Ten glared at him. “I couldn’t take it down.”
It dawned on Lucas suddenly. He began to laugh. “Oh my God! You couldn’t reach it, right?”
Ten ignored him, eating his breakfast, watching him clean up his room, listening to his unrelenting commentary.
“Oh,” Lucas picked up a book that was lying spread-eagled on the floor, “I was thinking of asking you. Can I borrow your copy of Crime and Punishment? Since you’re not readin—Oops.” He looked at Ten, guiltily. “I swear, that page fell out on its own.” He picked up the thin sheet of folded paper. “Phew, it’s not from the book. You seriously shouldn’t keep your documents just inside books like that.”
Ten frowned. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What document?”
Lucas opened the letter. “To, the love of my life—” He reddened. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize it was a personal letter.”
Ten got up and walked to him. “What are you talking about?” He took the letter and his eyes widened as he read.
To, the love of my life,
This isn’t really your birthday gift, you know? Well, it is. Kind of. It’s part of your birthday gift. This is my copy of Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “I can’t believe you gave me an old book for my birthday, John!” but this is a special copy! Seriously, don’t laugh. I was reading this book when you dislocated your arm and I remember I felt like I would die seeing you get hurt like that. And that I wanted to kiss you so bad when the doctor set it right.
Ten gripped Lucas’ arms tightly. “Where did you find this?”
“I-It fell out of the book. I swear, I didn’t do anything.”
Ten blinked back tears. All he could think of was no no, this can’t be. How can this be? But the letter was there in his hands and he was reading it. It was Johnny’s writing. He turned it over and there it was. I’ll always love you. Be mine?—Your Johns. P.S. Don’t you dare laugh at me for this. I will spread your ugly baby pictures online!
Ten’s voice was faint as he asked Lucas, “Where’s Kun? Oh god, I don’t know what to do. Please call him.”
“He left. He had an emergency, remember? What is it?”
Ten’s hands were trembling as he flipped the letter and began to read it again. “It’s Johnny…He wrote a letter and ugh, why didn’t he tell me?”
I was like woah, I really like this Thai guy. No, that I knew since quite a while. I was like woah, I love Ten. I’d do anything for Ten. Whenever I read this book again or whenever I look at it, I remember that moment once again.
Oh no, this is not how this letter was supposed to start. Ugh, it was supposed to be more poetic. Just ignore what you read and think that it starts from here, okay?
Ten, I think you’re a wonderful person. You make me so happy. I love traveling with you, trying out new things with you and I probably think more of you than is necessary but that’s not really my fault now, is it? You’re breathtaking.
Thank you for always being there for me. You made the tough times bearable and the good times magical. Do you know that you are the first thought that crosses my mind when I wake up? I hate being away from you. I like that you don’t mind that I spam you with texts but hey, am I not an amazing person to talk to? Plus, I send you memes. Appreciate me, please, I’m trying to serenade a guy I like through a whole letter. Points for effort, okay?
Ten was crying. “I didn’t even read it. It’s been months. No wonder he…oh my god, how did he even get through these months when I have been an ignorant fool?”
“Don’t cry,” Lucas said, looking bewildered as he patted Ten’s back.
I’ll be waiting for you on the rooftop, Ten, so if you feel the same way meet me there and I promise, I’ll spend my whole life treating you like the star you are.
“Oh God, he waited and I didn’t go and it was all because I was upset that he gave me a book instead of something romantic like I had hoped for. I didn’t even read the book. I didn’t even flip through it. And all this time, I thought…I behaved so…I have been horrible to him. This is why he hates me now. I disappointed him. I hurt him. Lucas, what do I do?”
If you don’t come, I’ll know and I’ll accept it. Ten, and I’m saying this really seriously, there’s no pressure. If you don’t feel the same way, know that I’ll understand and we will remain best friends and I will respect your decision just like I respect you. If you’re not down for taking a step further than what we are right now, I promise I will never speak of it again. I don’t want this to make things weird or uncomfortable. Whatever you want, I’m okay with that. So, it’s okay, okay? Either way, I’ll always be your best friend.
Suddenly, things made sense to Ten. Johnny’s incessant questions about his having read the book in those early weeks after Ten’s birthday, Johnny changing his behaviour towards him, Johnny flinching away from his touch, from things that had become almost natural for them, Johnny retreating after doing anything even mildly resembling affection.
“He thinks I rejected him,” Ten said. He picked up his phone and dialled Johnny’s number. “Please pick up, please pick up. Johnny, please!” He dialled Jaehyun’s number next and then, Winwin’s. None of his friends were answering. It was too early, maybe. And Johnny, Johnny who woke up early was probably ignoring him by now. After everything, Ten wouldn’t blame him if he was. There was only so much someone could take.
He sobbed as he remembered Johnny’s words from last night. Johnny hadn’t been angry or inconsiderate. He had been hurt when he had said, “Wow, Ten, you amaze me every time. I should get used to the fact that you don’t—can’t—understand anything about me but like to create whatever narrative you want about me. When it comes to the two of us, remember that I have been more patient while you have been insensitive. Don’t you dare accuse me of thoughtlessness!”
It was all so clear now. He had been a fool.
“I messed it up. I messed up everything.”
Lucas pulled him into a hug. “Stop crying so much. Drink some water and then, go to hyung’s dorm.”
“He won’t listen to me. He’ll hate me even more. Lucas, he asked me so many times about the letter but I kept on thinking he was asking me about the wretched book and I lied. I said horrible things. Turns out I made him wait on the terrace and made him feel rejected while being all friendly and…flirty with him all this time. He must have such a low opinion of me by now. I can’t imagine why he still remained friends with me. I don’t deserve him.” Ten sniffled.
Lucas shook his head. “He loves you, remember? Of course, he’ll listen to you. Things will be fine.”
“Promise?”
“Promise. Now, go.”
And so Ten went. More like he ran because he reached the other dorm in record timing.
Tumblr media
Kun rang the doorbell to the 127 dorm a bit louder than normally. It was probably the nervous energy bubbling inside him.
Taeil opened the door and greeted. “Hi, Kun. What’s up?”
“Hello, hyung. I was just—”
“Oh my god, Kun hyung, guess what? I have the tea,” Haechan interrupted them. “You won’t believe it!”
“Haechan,” Taeyong warned. “Let Kun have a seat at least.”
“Actually, I came to meet Doyoung,” Kun said, smiling apologetically. “Give me a sec.”
“So, you know about Doyoungie hyung too?” Mark said. “The news is sure spreading quickly.”
Jaehyun wondered aloud. “I still can’t believe he didn’t tell us.”
“He used to be on the phone a lot. When I asked him why he was smiling, he always said he’s watching a drama,” Taeil said.
“I still can’t believe he gifted him the hoodie I designed for him,” Taeyong complained.
“What are you all…?” Kun asked, looking very confused.
“You don’t know?” Mark asked.
“Doyoung hyung is dating a model from YG!” Haechan announced dramatically.
Kun felt the colour drain from his face. “What?”
“Yeah, see this article from Koreaboo. It’s trending. And the pictures are all over Naver searches.” Haechan handed him his phone.
Kun stared at the pictures of the model who was smiling at his fans at the airport. He looked at his members. “How did Doyoung get dragged in the scandal? He isn’t even there. This is just Jun-Ki.”
“You know Park Jun-Ki?” Taeyong asked. “How come I’m the only one who didn’t know?”
“He’s famous, dude. He’s going to star in this amazing drama. The posters are everywhere,” Taeil said.
“Guys,” Kun began.
Jaehyun answered his question. “Oh well, his fans and ours put together stuff. See this hoodie he’s wearing. This is the hoodie Taeyong designed and made for Doyoung during our talent show last year. See the sleeve has D-O-Y-O-U-N-G written in huge letters. I don’t know what they were thinking but the fans not only got it but it spread online.”
“Ya, Park Jun-Ki is a legend. When OP’s friend asked him where he got the hoodie from, he said it belongs to his ‘cute’ boyfriend,” Haechan said in admiration. “The man has got courage. No wonder Doyoung likes him.”
“OP’s other friend says she asked him if his boyfriend works at SM and he said, and I quote, ‘yes, please cheer for his sexy ass!’ Aww, this is kind of cute,” Taeil said. “I mean, we all know Doyoung doesn’t even have an ass. It must be true love for it to be this delusional.”
“He should have told us though. To think we had to find it through the media,” Taeyong said. “We would have thrown him a party!”
“Guys,” Kun had been trying to squeeze into the conversation. “Guys!”
Everyone quietened down.
Kun looked at them with worry. “It’s not Doyoung who is dating Jun-Ki. It’s me.”
“Oh shit,” Mark said, before covering his mouth.
Haechan stared in shock.
Taeil whistled. “The plot thickens.”
Taeyong’s eyes widened as he opened and shut his mouth like a goldfish.
Jaehyung nodded slowly. “Suddenly, the ‘sexy ass’ comment makes sense.” Taeyong slapped his arm and asked, “Wait, but how does he have Doyoung’s hoodie?”
Kun sat down on the couch, misery evident on his features. “Doyoung lent it to me when we went out with Johnny and Ten once. I must have left at Jun-Ki-ya’s place that night.”
“Oh no, he spent the night at a YG artist’s place,” Haechan said. “The plot indeed thickens.”
“Shut up, Haechan,” Mark whispered.
“Where’s Doyoung?” Kun asked. “He called me here. Why didn’t he tell you guys?”
They looked at each other, unsure how to relay the news.
“Manager hyung picked him up. They left a few minutes before you came.  He’s probably in a disciplinary meeting with the press team as they decide what’s to be done,” Taeil finally supplied.
“Fuck,” Kun said, dialling Doyoung’s number quickly.
“Did he just—?” Taeyong asked.
“Yes, he cursed,” Jaehyun confirmed.
Haechan wiped a fake tear. “Hyung is growing up.”
Mark sighed. “I’m worried about Doyoungie hyung. He must be in so much trouble and imagine, he doesn’t even know what’s happening.”
Everyone looked worried.
“You’re right,” Taeil said. “The management must be freaking out right now.”
“I hope Doyoungie is okay,” Taeyong said.
“He isn’t answering calls or messages. He must be in the meeting still. I’m going there. I’ll tell them it’s me. I can’t have him suffer because of me.” Kun walked towards the door with determination.
The door opened and in stepped Doyoung looking annoyed. His expression changed when he saw Kun and the others. “Quite a party here so early in the morning?”
Kun grasped his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.” Doyoung smiled at him. He turned to the others. “Sorry I didn’t tell you guys before—”
“Save it,” Taeyong rolled his eyes. “We know you’re not dating the YG guy.”
“Park Jun-Ki,” Haechan provided.
“Yeah, that guy.”
Doyoung’s eyes widened and he looked at Kun. “Wait, you told them?”
“How long have you known?” Mark asked Doyoung.
“I found out when I saw the news in the morning. My name was everywhere and to be honest, I freaked out but when I saw the pictures with the hoodie, I put two and two together. I remembered giving Kun the hoodie because he thought wearing a flimsy denim jacket at night was a great choice.” Doyoung smirked. “I know, I am super smart.”
“Doyoung, what did the management say?” Kun asked, still worried.
“You needn’t worry about them. They asked me if I was dating Park Jun-Ki. I said yes and apologized a million times. The management told me to break up with him. Easy since we weren’t dating in the first place. They are going to release a statement later that we aren’t dating. I’m basically on house arrest until the foreseeable future but ha, little do they know I don’t go out of my room anyway. It’s all settled. You’ll be fine. Just tell your stupid boyfriend to release a statement saying the same stuff and not to wear my hoodie or say weird stuff to the public in the future.” He informed the others, “Oh, and we don’t have any schedule today because of what they are calling my ‘stunt’. We can all chill.”
The others joked about Doyoung and congratulated Kun on his relationship, telling him off for keeping it under the wraps for so long, simultaneously asking him for details.
Kun looked uncomfortably guilty all along and as soon as he could, he dragged Doyoung to the latter’s room. “Are you crazy? Why did you do it? This could have affected your career!”
“You’re happy with him and you no doubt kept it a secret because you value your privacy. Congratulations, by the way,” Doyoung said, smiling at him.
Outside the room, things were just settling down when Ten rushed into the dorm, out of breath. He didn’t greet anyone, just rushed to Johnny’s room.
“Where is he?” He rushed out and asked the others. “Where did he go?”
Jaehyun looked at him, worriedly. “Ten, what happened? Are you okay?”
“Jaehyun, I messed up. It’s all over now,” Ten said, clutching his phone as he tried once again to get in touch with Johnny.
Yuta walked down the stairs, followed by a yawning Winwin. “Johnny, your phone keeps ringing. Where are you?”
“Why do you have his phone?” Ten asked.
“It was in his hoodie that I borrowed,” Yuta said, defensively.
Taeil sighed. “These hoodies can be very dangerous.”
As little by little, they got filled in to the Johnten story, Winwin rubbed Ten’s back comfortingly while everyone tried to find out where Johnny was.
“He’s not with his Daegu cousin.”
“Not with his friends.”
“Not with him either.”
“Did you try him?”
“He’s not there too.”
“Oh wait, found him.”
Ten looked at Taeyong with hope. “Where is he?” His voice was hoarse from crying.
“He crashed at Sehun hyung’s place for the night. Sehun said he’s sleeping and he’ll wake him up if it’s important. What should I say?”
“Let me talk to Sehun hyung.” Ten took Taeyong’s phone. He came back in a few minutes and handed back the phone. “Thank you, Taeyong. I owe you.”
“Just…take care of him this time,” Taeyong told him.
“I hope he lets me.”
“Where are you going?”
Ten replied, “I’m going to wait on the terrace.”

I have a LOT of catching up to do!
I was tagged to do the 57 facts thing by @fayts4 @tabbyrhsims4simblr and @midnightdevotions I think I got everybody if not you’ll have to forgive me my shoddy memory. But I have so many blogs to catch up on I am ready to cry!
1. Simblr is a secret thing for me, only my husband knows about it. Its my own guilty pleasure.
2. I recently became a parent and I am very much planning to have at least 1 more while there is still time!
3. I have done a lot of work on some really amazing stuff, none of which I can ever talk about due to secrecy agreements.
4. I have a PhD in mathematics, so that proves I am super boring.
5. I tried my first cigarette at age 11, but didn’t touch it again till age 26 which was when I took it up, I would smoke anything from 0 to 10 cigs a day depending on the day I had. I quit cigs this year aged 32 in January. So hopefully didn’t do myself too much damage.
6. At age 29 I started smoking cigars on special occasions those are: my birthday, Christmas, New year, Valentines, and my wedding anniversary. Being the “badass” I am, I inhale every 5th drag for a little extra kick, even though you shouldn’t do that... I have not quit the cigars!
7. I have a younger brother and an older sister, I am the middle sibling.
8. I have only ever had 3 boyfriends in my life. And 1 “fancy man.”
9. I was engaged to be married to my second boyfriend, I basically twisted his arm into it because of my condition I was afraid I’d be some old woman called Ms instead of Mrs, he did not want to be married, not to me anyway. I should have realised that back then...
10. While I was engaged to boyfriend number 2 I had an affair which lasted about 8 months, it was with a colleague at work, and it was amazing! I don’t condone cheating, not in the least, but I realise, the sensible thing to do would have been to call off the engagement.
11. I had giganstism (Acromegaly) as a child, I am 6 foot 7 inches tall bare foot. I do not like being this tall... not one bit. There are so many health issues that come with this, that it really isn’t worth it.
12. When I stopped growing, Acromegaly causes your face and hands and feet to carry on growing... I have size 14 feet. UK size. My hands are large enough that I can grip 4 tennis balls in one hand easily.
13. I have no tattoos. I have never ever wanted a tattoo. I don’t actually like them very much.
14. I don’t have any piercings anywhere else beside my ears. I have 2 piercings in each ear.
15. I am a huge petrol head. I love cars and I will happily have a discussion with any man about them, or woman if she is so inclined!
16. Due to the facial changes caused by Acromegaly I decided to go and get cosmetic surgery in late 2017 to change my face back to a more softer look.
17. I love Star Trek. Captain Kirk is my favourite captain, he is the best. No discussion. If it wasn’t for Kirk there would be no Picard, no Sisko, no Janeway. None of those pretenders would be here!
18. I think Quentin Tarrantino and his films are vastly overrated and often incomprehensible and worst yet, non linear.
19. I really dislike the taste of alcohol. The only drinks I get on well with are Guiness and Gin and tonics. Most others I don’t like. I hate wine.
20. I hated that stupid Pokemon Go craze!! The amount of people who walked into me in the street... That shit was dangerous.
21. My hair used to be naturally blonde, but in recent years its started to get darker, which is why I now use colouring to keep it where it was.
22. I should wear glasses to read, but I don’t bother.
23. While preggers I had gestational diabetes. Which was not fun at all.
24. I love swimming, but I hate the sea because I am afraid of whats in it. Sharks, jellyfish, all sorts of wonderful, yet horrid creatures designed to kill and maim!
25. When I was doing my PhD, somebody on my research team literally took about 80% of my thesis content and used it in their thesis. I had  no time to appeal or go through proper channels as I already had a job lined up, and was due to have my pituitary tumor removed, therefore, my only option was to redo 80% of my thesis.
26. I am not religious (at least not in any organised way), however, I find the theory of how the universe came into being utterly laughable. A big bang... seriously?? If before the universe, there was nothing, where did the shit that exploded come from? Its bullshit. Truth is, nobody knows for sure, but we’re so desperate to know that scientists will happily invent theories to fit what few facts they have.
27. Despite not being religious, I firmly believe in existence after death. I say existence, not life, there is a difference. I have seen what would be colloquially referred to as a “ghost” when I was 13 years old.
28. I love the old pulp sci fi, things like Lost in Space, and voyage to the bottom of the sea
29. My favourite foods are pizzas. I cannot get enough of them! In particular just bog standard pepperoni
30. I suck at sports. Any sport, and I suck at it.
31. I often worry about things so much I lose my perspective, I cannot help but worry and it usually leads to a cascade of worry and I may make poor decisions.
32. I am part German. I can speak German, to a fashion... its not very good as I rarely use it.
33. I have regular chiropractic care and I have to say its worth every penny. I feel better physically now than I have in years! As a bonus, the IBS I suffered with, since I have been seeing my chiropractor has actually cleared up!
34. I am currently trying to complete something on my bucket list, I am attempting to watch EVERY John Wayne film.
35. I hated Star Wars the Last Jedi. Shit film!
36. I have a cuddly toy from I was a baby which I still have! (I don’t sleep with it of course)
37. I love inappropriate/dirty jokes.
38. I am, somewhat, anti-abortion. I understand there is a time and a place for everything however, but given birth control and access to morning after pills...
39. I am not political, I loathe politicians. None of them have a clue what it is like to be in the real world. Also... why do we have Ministers of health who have never been a nurse or doctor? And so forth... doesn’t make sense!
40. I have been married 3 years now.
41. I cannot bend over and touch my toes.
42. I recently took a woman to court and won! After she keyed (Scratched the car with a key) my Range Rover from bumper to bumper in the supermarket.
43. I hate shopping. I find it so tedious and inconvenient. I honestly do not understand how other females can find this a pleasurable activity!
44. I have never tried any illegal drugs in my life.
45. Apparently I was late performing all my children milestones. Walking, talking and potty training. I took months longer than my siblings did.
46. I find it really hard to go to the toilet in a public toilet. It disturbs me.
47. I hate it when people tell me “You’re late.” As though I have no concept or track of time. I usually reply with “I was quite aware before you pointed it out.” I never apologise for being late, unless I know that my being late was definitely my fault.
48. I am often amused by simblr. Especially at all these “dramas” that pop up round here. Particularly over custom content and how it should never be uploaded by anybody but the creator or changed or whatever... did I mention how somebody took 80% of my PhD thesis and used it in their work? Oh yes. Point number 25.
49. If I go for ice cream, doesn’t matter where it is, I will always go for vanilla.
50. White chocolate is my favourite chocolate of all. So sweet and creamy...
51. I am allergic to penicillin.
52. I love superhero films. Particularly the Marvel ones. I think Marvel do better films than DC but DC do better animated films / television than Marvel do.
53. I think Nolan’s batman trilogy is overrated speaking of superhero films.
54. Speaking of films, only once ever have I walked out of the cinema. I remember I went to see Mr and Mrs Smith, and half way through I walked out. Have never seen the end of that film since.
55. My favourite Junk Food is bacon double cheeseburgers!
56. Due to having acromegaly... every year... without fail... I have to go and get a camera up my ass! Yeah its great being tall(!)
57. I HATE pears. I mean hate them! I hate the texture of them in my mouth, I hate the feel of their skin, I hate EVERYTHING about pears. Even sat here typing this I get goosebumps. If I was trapped on a desert island where all there was to eat was Pears. I would starve to death!
I tag, @themoonglitch @rebelsoulsims @igglemouse and @flowers--girl  and @sparkiemonkey and @alittledaylight do this EPIC tag. If you think you can’t. or done it, or don’t want to cool.

The Interview pt. 2
Tumblr media
Pairings: Joe x Reader Words: 1,812 Summary: Joe finally realizes he can’t hide his feelings anymore and decides to tell you. Part: 2/5 Warnings: Light swearing A/N: It’s what you’ve all been waiting for, part 2! I hope you guys enjoy it. This one is a little rushed because I just needed to get it rolling so I’m really sorry if it sucks. Tags will be at the bottom, thank you everyone for your amazing support and feedback on the first part! Feel free to continue to let me know what you think :)
Part 1  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5
Strangers crowd all around us in the bustling airport, they cheer and reach for our hands as we enter the building. I wave towards the paparazzi as cameras flash blinding lights in our faces. Y/N greets our fans giving them warm hugs and autographs whenever they ask, she snaps a few photos with them before they exchange goodbyes and she makes it back to me. “Do you ever get used to that?” She smiles and lets out a long breath, “They’re so supportive, I love each and every one of them. That gave me such a rush!” She watches as some girls look through the pictures they took with her. I couldn’t help but smile at her warming words, “What?” She nudges me with her shoulder playfully as we continue through the airport.
We come to a slow stop when we arrive at her gate. Neither one of us could find the words to say, instead, we stand in silence, refusing to look at one another. “Three months is a long time without seeing my best friend,” She mumbles, still looking straight ahead of her, “I don’t know how I’ll manage without you.” Her hand grips around her suitcase handle tighter as she speaks.
“I’ll call and text you every day, okay? It’ll be like I’m right there with you.” I try to find comforting words despite I felt the same way, if not worse.
“You and I both know that’s not the same thing.” She sighs before slowly turning to face me. “Call me as soon as you land, I’ll stop being sappy,” She plasters a grin onto her features, a smile that could’ve fooled anyone; but not me. “I’ll miss you,” Her arms wrap around my neck, I pull her body close to me as we embrace each other for several moments.
The dreaded moment arrives as she pulls away and walks towards her gate. She clutches her boarding pass tightly after the lady scans the thin piece of paper. Y/N waves one final time before she disappears through the long tunnel towards her plane. I stand for minutes after I watched her walk away, I couldn’t find the desire or the strength to move, I felt the sudden urge to chase after her, to scream her name, to refuse to leave her side. But my feet stay planted on the carpeted floor and for the first time in months I feel utterly alone.
I spin on my heel and head towards my own designated area weaving through the chattering people, avoiding eye contact at all costs. It felt unnatural to be in the public eye without Y/N, ever since season three began we practically went everywhere together. I want her to be here with me now, to ease the sorrow that festers in my stomach at her absence, to make me laugh at her corny jokes, to play stupid children’s games to pass time. I want her to tell me everything's okay like I’ve done to her so many times before.
I push the thought of Y/N out of my head completely as I take the seat closest to the window. I shove my earbuds in my ears and blare anything that will bring peace to my wild mind. People shuffle in the aisle, shoving their luggage overhead before finding their seats. The flight attendants speak over the intercom but I pay no attention.
The plane’s engine revs and lurches into movement, I stare out the window trying to occupy my thoughts with something other than my best friend. The man beside me jingles his seatbelt for what seems like the seventh time, I couldn’t help but stare at his motions. “I’m sorry,” He speaks, I remove the earbuds to be polite, “I’ve never flown before.” He admits shyly. I offer him a small smile before speaking.
“It’s okay, the worst part only lasts a few seconds,” I try my best to calm his nerves. It was more difficult than I expected. Usually, I know just what to say to calm Y/N down but when it came to strangers I didn’t have a clue how to help.
“Oh yeah? What’s the worst part?” As soon as the words slip out of his mouth, the plan pulls backward as it ascends into the air. He grips onto the arm rests tightly in fear, “Please tell me it’s this,” He squints his eyes closed and a few moments later the plane is in the sky making it easier for him to relax.
“Congratulations,” I smile, “Wasn’t so bad, huh?” He chuckles before extending his hand out to me.
“I’m John,” I take his hand, giving it a firm shake.
“Joe, nice to meet you.” An awkward silence settles over us, neither of us knowing what to say.
“I’m sorry if I talk your ear off, I get really talkative when I’m anxious.” He explains, slightly embarrassed.
“No worries, I could use good conversation to get my mind off of things.” I run my hand through my hair avoiding his stare.
“If you want to talk about it -whatever’s on your mind I mean- I’m happy to listen,” He offers, “I’ve been around for awhile, people say my advice is pretty good too.” I smile at his kindness, glancing out the window only to find it foggy with clouds. “Is it… A girl?” The blush that creeps along my cheeks gives him the answer that he was looking for only to be confirmed with my nod. “Do tell me about this girl.”
“I don’t even know where to begin,” I smile at just the thought of Y/N, “She’s my best friend, I can tell her everything, we know each other like the back of our hands. We can read each other’s minds and have conversations with our eyes even if it’s across the room.” I laugh thinking of all the times we used our eyes to talk about the people on set. “She’s fantastic at her career, she’s so hardworking and determined to make everything perfect and will redo everything if it isn’t to her liking. She’s smart as hell too, so smart it’s intimidating. She’s also beautiful but in her own special way. She has the perfect smile, and her eyes always sparkle when they look at me, and the way she carries herself just makes her drop-dead gorgeous. Just-” I search for more words to string together to try my best for John to understand just how perfect Y/N really was. “I could write a whole book about her and even then it wouldn’t be enough,” I mumble, mainly to myself, but he heard anyways.
“She sounds incredible.” His eyebrows are raised in my rambling, trying to process all the words I threw at him. “What seems to be the problem then?” He asks. Music still slips out of the earbuds and can quietly be heard, I quickly pause the music to answer his question but he asks another before I even have a chance. “Is that her?” He points at the exposed screen, the wallpaper of Maika and I caught his attention. My stomach tied in knots as I stare at the picture, Maika’s eyes bore into mine as if she’s reading my soul and devouring all my secrets. I knew then and there it was a mistake to get on this plane, to leave unsaid feelings floating in the air between Y/N and I. I know now that Maika and I had to end, I know that I needed to be with Y/N, but this time, as more than just best friends.
The elevator door dings as it slides to its open. I count the doors I pass before standing in front of her’s. My hands begin to sweat, my heart wants to lurch out of my chest, it pumps so fast I can hear its pulse in my ears.
I rap my knuckles to the door, the knock echoes around the hall full of doors making it seem like I was even more alone. I hear quiet shuffling behind the door before it opens to reveal Y/N. She stands before me in nothing but a t-shirt and her beloved sweats. Her hair is tied into a messy bun, her mascara is smudged under her left eye. In her most natural state, she is absolutely breathtaking.
“Joe?” Her voice drips with confusion, she steps to the side inviting me in. “What the hell are you doing here? You’ve been completely MIA for the past few days then you decide to show up on my doorstep?” Her tone is harsh as she spits questions towards me. I run my fingers through my already disheveled hair as panic starts to set in. Her eyes grow soft as she reads me.
“We need to talk,” It sounded horrible as soon as the words touched the air, I desperately wanted to take them back, I’ve already lost the script I had mapped out specifically for the purpose of saying something stupid or not quite right. “Maika and I broke up,” I curse myself, out of the whole feeling speech that’s what I decided to say first? She reaches out her hand to comfort me, her touch warms my whole arm, I want to lean into it, I want her to hold me.
“Joe, I’m so sorry,” She whispers, her eyes scour mine in search of something as I shake my head.
“It’s fine, I came to talk about us.” I pause, taking a look at her quaint apartment before speaking again, “I’ve come to realize that I wasn’t happy with Maika. I wanted to hold you, kiss you, laugh with you, be with you, and not just as my best friend. It wasn’t fair to Maika for me to wish it was you every time she touched me. It wasn’t fair to either of us for me to trap each other in a failing relationship.” I ramble, “I met a man on my flight home, we nearly talked the whole flight about you and I knew it was you I wanted to be with when I wasn’t talking about Maika.” I sigh and find myself looking at the floor. Hesitantly, I take her hand in mine. “What I’m trying to say is, from the moment I met you I felt a connection and I should’ve faced my feelings a long time ago instead of hiding them, I’m done hiding and I’m done running. I believe that our bond is special and I want to take it further than just being best friends.” I finally build up enough courage to meet her eyes once again, her face is blank giving no clues to how she was feeling. Moments pass and her mouth still doesn’t move.
Her silence grows deafening.

Bonus 1: Bridgerton
Please consult these links for accompanying images: Bridgerton
Both
Welcome to The Costume Plot.
Jojo
I'm Jojo Siu.
Sarah
and I’m Sarah Timm. We're professional designers with a passion for costume design and the performing arts. Our podcast does contain spoilers. Accompanying slideshows for each movie are linked in the episode description.
Jojo
We hope you'll join us every other week as we delve into the wonderful world of costume design in The Costume Plot. [music]
Jojo
All right! Welcome to our bonus episode!
Sarah
Surprise!
Jojo
Extra episode this month. I'm really excited. We, of course, are trying to cover some smaller things around... you know, this is going to be our first of many bonus episodes, hopefully.
Sarah
Yeah, this is gonna be a little more informal, like, not as much research. Just kind of a discussion about what we think. And of course, we're talking about "Bridgerton."
Jojo
Yep.
Sarah
We have-- I know that you said that people have been asking you. People have been asking me too, if we're going to cover it. So here it is.
Jojo
[laughs] Yep!
Sarah
You're welcome.
Jojo
I know. It's finally here, the episode. [laughs]
Sarah
Hopefully we're not too late in the game, I feel like it's still getting a lot of buzz. So I feel like we're right in the sweet spot to tell you about.
Jojo
It is, it is. And like I'm-- you know, there's been so much other coverage of "Bridgerton." So this is certainly not going to be hugely different than maybe whatever else you were hearing...
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
...about "Bridgerton." But these are just kind of our thoughts as costume designers, as people who have been doing this for a long time. Just to kind of share, you know, instead of the bashing, maybe, that we've been hearing about the show. Talking a little bit about kind of... what are the purposes behind it? And how to really talk about design in an intelligent way. And maybe not so not spending so much time on the negative, I guess.
Sarah
Yeah, I don't think we're gonna get too spicy, I don't think we're gonna have really hot takes about it. I think that...
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
...in general, we can usually find positives and negatives in pretty much everything and...
Jojo
Very true.
Sarah
...that doesn't mean that it's bad, or not worth our time.
Jojo
Mmhmm. Before we get into that, I did want to make a quick announcement for our next month's episode, we are going to be covering our first musicals, which I'm super excited about.
Sarah
Woohoo!
Jojo
But one of the ones that we do want to cover is actually going to be "Meet Me in St. Louis." And the reason why we wanted to bring this up is because they do actually have online Zoom performances. So this theater, it's the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York, they're an off-Broadway theater, they do a lot of really great work. But for this particular production, they are doing a predominantly Zoom production. So it is going to be "live theater," but all over zoom. So I'm really excited about how this is going to be done.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And excited to see this take, because this is a really great show. It's actually one of my favorites, it was one of the ones I did in high school.
Sarah
Oh!
Jojo
And I was really involved on like, every aspect of the production. So it has a really special place in my heart. But it's gonna be directed and adapted by Charlotte Moore. And I'm really excited, it's gonna be more of a costume-coordinated piece. But we're in talks with the actual theatre to just, you know... eventually we will get in touch with the lady who's going to be coordinating. But she's going to talk a little bit more eventually about some of the the work that she had to do on a zoom production versus what we would typically do on a live production.
Sarah
Yeah. Yeah.
Jojo
So if you get the chance to see it, it's completely free. They do try to ask for donations if you have the capability to give donations. But it is the... irishrep.org is their website, just look for "Meet Me in St. Louis." And you'll be able to get free tickets, and you just have to reserve your spot. They do have only a few remaining performances. So it's... January 31st is their most current upcoming one. And then they are also performing on February 3rd, the 11th and the 21st. So if you get the chance, please go and see that performance if you can, so hopefully you can kind of be involved with us. And that way when we go over the show in the episode, then you'll know what we're talking about.
Yeah, we're gonna have pictures, and the reason we got in touch with the theater is to see if they could send us some of their pictures. Because we were worried about whether we could take screencaps of the show, and if that would even interrupt our own enjoyment of watching it. Because it's not something that we can rewatch, I looked and it was like, you have to catch it. It's on YouTube Live, so you have to catch it at the exact time or you're gonna miss it. So...
Yeah.
Sarah
...they were super nice and...
Jojo
Yeah!
Sarah
...seemed excited that we were featuring them, which is so sweet.
Jojo
I know.
Sarah
And we're hoping that the designer can answer a few questions before the episode, but if not, we definitely want to have her on for a future interview episode.
Jojo
Yeah, definitely. What a great way to connect theater artists in this way, too.
Sarah
Yeah. And I mean, I miss theater so much that I'm excited to talk about theater with people. So...
Jojo
Yeah!
Sarah
...that prospect is very exciting to me.
Jojo
Very cool. So anyways, that's my little plug for next month. So hopefully, for our audience listeners out there, just be prepared to hear about "Meet Me in St. Louis."
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And hopefully go and see it online.
Sarah
Mine is much easier to access. I'm going to be covering "Hamilton." So I think a lot of people have seen it on Disney+, so just... you know, gird your loins. Prepare yourself. [both laugh]
Jojo
It's going to be an exciting episode.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
So yeah, back to "Bridgerton." Just to give you a little bit of background about the show, for those of you who have not seen this yet, I wanted to kind of talk a little bit about the directors. Which, in this case, there were actually four different directors. So each of the directors took two different episodes each. We have Sheree Folkson, who has done the very obscure movie "The Decoy Bride," but it's got David Tennant in it. So any of you "Doctor Who" fans out there, she did that movie, which is great. Alrick Riley, who's done a lot of random episodes here and there for "NCIS," "How to Get Away with Murder," "The Good Doctor," "Lucifer." Julie Anne Robinson, who has also done kind of sporadic episodes on "Like Magic," "One for the Money," and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." And then Tom Verica, who actually does a lot of acting, he was a main actor in "How to Get Away with Murder" and "The Closer," and then he's directed a few episodes of "The Umbrella Academy," "Scandal," and "Private Practice." So these are all directors, obviously, that come with a little bit of experience. The other thing I wanted to mention too is that for the costume team for this show, it was a four person co-costume team. But it was pretty much headed by Ellen Mirojnick, who of course is known for work in "The Greatest Showman," and the newer Maleficent sequel. Victoria Quelch is one of the other costume designers, or co-costume designers. She's probably the most brand new costume designer. She doesn't have other projects under her belt, but this was a great way for her to get involved with a really star team.
Sarah
Oh, yeah, this is making a big splash. So this is a good...
Jojo
Absolutely.
Sarah
...thing to get your name out there.
Jojo
For sure. And John Norster, who's done a lot of assistant and associate costume designing, but he also worked on "Maleficent," he did "Aladdin," "Justice League," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," and also "Inception."
Sarah
Ooh.
Jojo
Among many others. And then John Glaser, who did a lot of TV costume designing, so he's done "Gotham," "Person of Interest," and "Brotherhood," also among many other listings. So just to give you just the sheer volume of these teams, because this show is humongous.
Sarah
Yeah, it makes sense that the team is so big, because, well, they built 7500 costumes. That's what we've learned in our research. And I could tell watching the show, I was like, "They built ALL of this." Like, you can just see it, you know?
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
Except for stuff on background and stuff.
Jojo
Mmhmm. And I think... I can't remember where I wrote it. Oh, here it is. So it took them five months for a team of 238 people to build the 7500 pieces.
Sarah
Whew!
Jojo
5000 costumes, full body costumes, were in front of the camera, and 104 costumes were for Daphne Bridgerton alone.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
So like, the sheer amout of just volume...
Sarah
Imagine how many fittings! Like...
Jojo
It's insane. Like, they must have had to-- like, no one slept for these five months.
Sarah
That's like a month of fittings.
Jojo
Pretty much. And like, multiple fittings.
Sarah
Crazy.
Jojo
'Cause, you know, even though these these costumes are not-- not all of them are quite as incredibly crazy to build as, you know, say... Queen Charlotte's costume.
Sarah
Oh yeah.
Jojo
In the 18th century. But you know, it takes more than one costume fitting for a lot of these. Sometimes you don't get that and you just gotta figure it out. So it's pretty amazing what this costume team has accomplished in this short period of time. Because, you know, five months to some people sounds like a lot of time, but for that many costumes, it's... that's nuts. [laughs]
Sarah
Yeah. Yeah. In my research, she said that she hired five cutters and two tailors just for the principles, which-- I'm not sure who counts as a principal in that case, but like... that's... that already seems like not enough people for that many costumes. [laughs]
Jojo
I was gonna say, that team sounds so ridiculously small. For the amount of cost-- like, for 104 costumes for one of the leads alone? [laughs]
Sarah
I know! Oh, it's just-- it's a real big-- like, it's hard to even wrap my mind around how big of an undertaking this show was.
Jojo
Yes, yeah. So just to kind of introduce that before we really start talking about the costumes. Yeah, it's just, it's pretty insane. We did want to go over some of the designer's thoughts on this, because I think one of the biggest things that we've been hearing from a lot of other critics about the costumes is, of course, the historical accuracy.
Sarah
Yes.
Jojo
And there is nothing historically accurate about this show.
Sarah
Well, the silhouette.
Jojo
I shouldn't say... yes, I shouldn't say "nothing." [both laugh] I did want to read a really quick quote from one of the interviews with Ellen. She said her color palette was shifted, and this is paraphrasing, of course. But rather than doing the 1815, or 1811 to 1820, which is really the time period of the Regency era that we're in, she chose to be inspired by the more 1950s and 1960s silhouettes. And then she said one of the big inspirations was the "Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams" exhibition. And then she also had very specific restrictions and rules on set. So she banned muslin dresses, which, as you know from our last episode on "Emma," muslin dresses were very common for this time period. She totally did away with that because she felt that they were too limp. So a lot of the choices in fabric that she made for this show were definitely much more structured and not quite as light and... cottony, I guess, in feeling as as the typical muslin. And then she also got rid of bonnets.
Sarah
Yes. Yeah, that's a that's a pretty big deal.
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
So you said that she she did 50s and 60s silhouettes? Because in the research I saw, she said she used the color-- that was the color inspiration.
Jojo
The colors. Yeah.
Sarah
Okay. Yeah
Sorry, colors, not the silhouettes. I have a quote here about the fabric. She said that silk and fancy stuff wasn't being imported from France like it usually was because of the war, which is why people were using cottons more often.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
So it is very interesting to see Regency done in fabrics that aren't muslin, and you know, gauzy cottons and stuff, because that's what we're so used to. And I found it really refreshing. I think it's really vibrant and fresh.
Jojo
Yeah. And I think a couple of her interviews talked a lot about her wanting the costumes to be really "accessible," was the word that she used. And, you know, "accessible" means different things to different people. But I think where she really saw that the most was with Lady Danbury, and Simon in particular. And we will be talking briefly about those.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And of course, we're only really giving you a snippet, because, of course, this is our bonus episode.
Sarah
Yeah, yeah.
Jojo
We don't have the time to go through every episode of "Bridgerton." Because there's so many costumes!
Sarah
That could be a whole season of podcast episodes, is like, every episode.
Jojo
Oh, yeah. For sure.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
Breaking it down.
Sarah
We're not doing that. [laughs]
Jojo
So yeah, so we will talk a little bit more about what that accessibility really looks like visually. But yeah, it was just really interesting that she said that. And then the other thing I wanted to mention to you was just the fact that she really kept Queen Charlotte very accurate to the true Queen Charlotte, who decided to stay in the late 18th century silhouette. So apparently, the real Queen Charlotte did that in real life. And she wanted to honor that same idea by putting the queen and her court in all of these 18th century gowns, even though the rest of the lead cast is is mostly in kind of more Regency era, pushed about 20 years later.
Sarah
I was wondering about that, because like, in my research for "Emma," I was talking about how people didn't want to be associated with the French aristocracy because of the revolution. And then I saw Queen Charlotte dressed in a Marie Antoinette silhouette. And I was like, "What?" [both laugh]
Jojo
"What's happening?" [laughs] I think I had that same thought initially. So it's cool to hear what Ellen's thought process was behind that.
Sarah
Mmhmm. Yeah. And I mean, her costumes were like, incredible. Obviously. All of them are incredible. [laughs]
Jojo
Yeah, yeah. And I will say the other thing, and we've talked a lot about how much costumes can really affect different things when we change and shift color. And I think this show was a lot more about the color and the vibrancy than it was about historical period accuracy.
Sarah
Yes.
Jojo
Which, again, going back to that whole 1950s-60s color palette, that's exactly what she's done. She's really taken that and applied it over a period, you know, costume silhouette, and made it sort of more contemporary. Because that is kind of the trend we're returning to a little bit today, is we still see the 1950s and 60s as a very classic color and silhouette. So I think she did a really good job of marrying kind of a more contemporary style and emotion with that period, without making it seem too dated.
Sarah
Definitely. I have a quote from her about sort of accessibility. She said, "The Shondaland aesthetic"--and "Shondaland" is referring to Shonda Rhimes, who's like the exec producer, right?
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
"...usually errs on aspiration, beauty and lusciousness in a way that makes the modern audience want to be in the story." So I think that's what the accessibility is. It's like, if you see a beautiful Regency gown, people like us will be like, "Oh, my gosh, I want it." But like, an average person might not feel that way. But when you bring it into 2020 with your fabrications and your colors, it makes people go, "Oh my gosh, I want to go there, I want to put on that dress, it's so pretty." You know?
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
So that's-- it makes the audience... it draws them in, in a way that strict period accuracy sometimes doesn't.
Jojo
Mmhmm. And it's interesting too because, you know, we-- again, we're talking about color vibrancy, but I think about color psychology so much. And this-- the colors that she's chosen, and the textures that she's chosen to use, it kind of has that same feel as, you know... I mean, this is from a while ago, but that sweater that we talked about for Chris Evans, you know. It's things like that, where she's able to take the subtleties of the texture and color. And that's what draws the audience in.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
Like, for some reason, I always think about this quote that like, you know, the McDonald's arch, the red and the yellow actually makes us salivate. And that's why people get drawn into McDonald's. And it's like, kind of the same thing, this vibrant color makes us sort of salivate over these costumes.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And kind of get drawn in and get sucked into this world. So I think she's done a really good job of that. And I did want to at least point that out, despite the kind of all-over-the-place historical silhouette accuracy. Like, I think outside of that she's done a really great job.
Sarah
Yeah. Yeah, we were talking about this before we got on mic, but a lot of the people who are talking about the costumes in the show make the whole discussion about the lack of period accuracy. And I think that kind of misses the point. Because the designer has straight up said that that's not what they were going for, so to act like you're sticking it to her by telling her that it's not accurate is just kind of beside the point. Like you're...
Jojo
Right. Right. You've kind of missed the mark already.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
She straight up told us that that's not the point. [laughs]
Sarah
Yeah, it's like, "Yeah, we know that." Like, let's talk about it in words that aren't those things, you know?
Jojo
Yeah, that's not the language we're following here.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
So. So yes! I think we wanted to focus on, obviously, a very specific scene. And this is sort of later in the season. So it's not really a spoiler scene, but it is something that we felt like was a good representation of kind of one of the more party scenes, I guess.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And we both focused on a female look, as well as a male look. And again, this is pretty casual. So we're not going as in depth as our normal episodes.
Sarah
Yep.
Jojo
But Sarah, why don't you start with your looks?
Sarah
So yeah, we picked a specific episode. And we were talking about like, should it be the first episode? And then we were like, "We need people to know that we watched more of it than just the first episode." [both laugh] So we picked episode seven, because it has a scene that we both really like, which is the scene where Daphne goes to the married ladies' gambling night.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
So I'm going to talk about Daphne's dress that she wears there. Because I think it's a fabulous example of everything we've been talking about. Specifically color wise, the Bridgerton family are all in these cool powdery blues, and Daphne really stays in that land for pretty much all of the show. So this dress is a satin, and I just really loved the... it's like a powdery blue satin, and I love the-- where's my...? There it goes. I love that surface decoration on it. And... what's her name? Mirojnick? Is that how you say it? [both laugh]
Jojo
Yeah. Ellen.
Sarah
Ellen! Ellen did a lot of hand beading.
Jojo
Oh my gosh.
Sarah
So I think that this one might be an example of that. Because it has these beautiful iridescent Aurora Borealis sort of crystal beads on it.
Jojo
Guys, this is one out of 104 costumes...
Sarah
One hundred and foooour.
Jojo
...made for this actress. And this was hand beaded! So crazy.
Sarah
I think it's a great-- this is a great example of what we were just talking about, where she did the period silhouette, but out of modern fabrics. And I actually have a picture of her in a fitting, from one of the articles, right here. Isn't that fun.
Jojo
Ooh! That's great.
Sarah
Yeah. I feel like with 104 looks, that many fittings, the actress just kind of feels like a mannequin at that point. [laughs]
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
I got a picture of the back too. It has a nice long train. I noticed a lot of trains in the show.
Jojo
Yes.
Sarah
And I was like, "Is that a thing that they did?" And I think it is, if you're just kind of around the house, or if you're going to a fancy occasion, you'd have a train.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
Yeah, I really like this. Her hair is down, which is like... meh. You know. [both laugh]
Jojo
Very natural, very contemporary.
Sarah
Yeah. I want to talk a little bit about corsets, actually. I know this is not a picture of her in her corset. But I feel like it's a good time to sort of plug in this discussion that we want to have. And one of the first-- I think it's in the first episode, there's a scene of someone getting tight laced into a corset.
Jojo
I think that's the opening scene.
Sarah
Yeah, you might be right.
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
And I... this is where I'm gonna get a little spicy. [both laugh] I have a problem with, like, how corsets are portrayed in media. Because people nowadays think of them as this torture device, where everybody was squishing their organs and women couldn't breathe. And some people were doing that. It depends on the period, actually, like some of the ideal silhouettes had a tiny, tiny waist and some didn't. But to the women of the time, it was like wearing a bra. And most of them were not squeezing the daylights out of their own bodies. And it's not like a strictly unhealthy thing, to wear a corset. So...
Jojo
Especially for this time period.
Sarah
Yes.
Jojo
I think that was one of the loudest things that I heard, was that that whole lacing situation would not have been appropriate for this time period.
Sarah
Yeah!
Jojo
Because, again, you're cinching in the waist in that image. And really, the silhouette at this time was not about the cinched-in waist.
Sarah
Correct.
Jojo
It was very much up at the empire, so...
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
...so that whole scene seems a little bit kind of illogical or irrational. Considering the dresses they're wearing.
Sarah
It just contributes to the weird reputation that corsets have.
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
And I think it's a little bit lazy, because every period film has one of those scenes now. And it's like, show us something else.
Jojo
Yeah. Do something different with that. [laughs]
Sarah
Yeah. And then the other thing is the lack of chemise, which-- for those who don't know, a chemise is kind of is an underlayer that goes under your corset. It would-- it's kind of like a little nightgown-looking dress--slip--sort of thing, usually made of cotton, you know, really breathable and comfy. And it's to prevent your corset from, you know, rubbing or irritating you.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
And this show also shows... I can't remember what character it is. But someone is taking off their corset and has like, full like bruises or blisters from it? And I was like, "Give me a break!" Like...
Jojo
That's not accurate.
Sarah
Where's your chemise?! [laughs]
Jojo
Right. And if you think about it, the chemise kind of acted like, you know... I guess our modern equivalent would be like the men's undershirt, right?
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
It's sort of that inner layer of-- you have something underneath the outer clothes, because that's the layer that would also be your sweat layer, essentially.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And that's what would be getting dirty and get rewashed over and over again.
Sarah
Correct.
Jojo
And then they wouldn't have to wash the outer layer as often.
Sarah
Yep.
Jojo
So the chemise didn't just function as an inner layer to protect you. It also was a very practical garment.
Sarah
Yeah, it's like undies, it's your innermost layer. Yeah. So that's... that's our take on that.
Jojo
That's our spicy level, guys. [both laugh]
Sarah
That's as spicy as we get. And then I'll move along to Simon. He doesn't go to that gambling party because he's a man.
Jojo
[laughs]
Sarah
But I wanted to talk a little bit about his wardrobe broadly. I have a quote. The designer says, "He's traveled the world and has come back to London. So he brings with him another sensibility." And then also his sexiness was a big factor in deciding what he was gonna wear. And I think we can really see that in the fact that he rarely is wearing a stock, or a high collar.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
His throat is pretty much always exposed. So the stock is like the tie... that ties... it's like-- usually it's white for men in this period. And it would wrap several times around their neck and then tie in sort of like a bow at the front. And he, if he's wearing anything, he wears sort of like a loosely knotted cravat, which you can see in this picture of him in the gray velvet outfit. And he, like-- I think there's a real sexiness to the fact that his throat is always exposed. I mean, he's beautiful to look at, so... [laughs]
Jojo
Yep.
Sarah
...and then I love the, you know, luxe-ness of the fabrics here. I love gray. And-- but he also, as sort of like a visual foil to Daphne, is usually wearing something warm toned to contrast with her cool tones. So he's usually wearing burgundy, or butterscotch-caramel colors. And in this one, he has a red little cravat thing. And I think that that's really effective because he's like, sensual, you know, and worldly. [laughs]
Jojo
It's very much a passion color.
Sarah
Yes, exactly. Yeah. So that's Simon. Did I...? Oh, I think I have one of him... there. This one is him in his shirtsleeves and a different vest. And it's like a brocade, sort of paisley pattern.
Jojo
Mmhmm.
Sarah
And it's-- once again, it's like his necktie is open and he's looking very-- sort of half undressed. But like, very luxurious, because the neckties are silky, and then the waistcoat is very rich looking too. So it's just like, you can see sort of the worldliness and also like, the money, and the sexiness, all in his outfits.
Jojo
Yay!
Sarah
I think that's all I have to talk about.
Jojo
Nice and brief.
Sarah
[laughs] Yeah. We're just, you know, breezing through it.
Jojo
Yeah.
Sarah
We don't want to be here forever.
Jojo
And again, there's so many characters in the show that it's not possible for us to cover every single one of them with the time we have. But yeah, we did want to touch a little bit on some of the, you know, main leads. So I love that you focused on our two-- you know, there really are our two leads in this story.
Sarah
Yeah. Yeah. All right. Do you want to tell us what you pulled?
Jojo
Yeah! Okay, so let me share my screen. So I focused on some kind of more peripheral characters. But I love that the characters I actually focused on are basically like the support system for Sarah's two characters.
Sarah
Mmhmm. [laughs]
Jojo
Anthony Bridgerton is the brother, the older brother, of Daphne, who... he's kind of taken over the family now because the father's just not in the picture. And so he's kind of had to take on a lot of that burden. And then of course, Lady Danbury is the one that I did want to focus on first, and Lady Danbury in the same way is kind of the the familial support, who kind of raises Simon.
Sarah
I love her.
Jojo
Me too.
Sarah
I wanted more of her.
Jojo
I just... I love her character, and I just wish that they had incorporated her more. She just-- she's like, a no-nonsense character. Everything about her is very... I wouldn't even say "masculine" because she's very, very feminine the way she dresses, but just the way she carries herself is very masculine in a lot of ways. And so the dress that I focused on at this gambling party... she appears in, of course, that deep maroon that's very reminiscent of Simon as well.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
And so I think Ellen did a really good job of really tying these families together by color.
Sarah
Yes.
Jojo
And that's really how she's separated each of the different worlds, and you really see the difference in class and status as well. So for Lady Danbury... let's see, I think the other picture is... yes, this is it.
Sarah
Oh, I love.
Jojo
And you never really see a full body picture of this, because this is film, but I love that this really does honor the Regency. One of the things that I really took into account was that they-- she's the only one at this party in full long sleeves. There's one other lady that I think is slightly older, and even she only had a quarter, like a three quarter sleeve. But Lady Danbury, as the host of this party, is the only one with the full kind of longer... and again, there's something very masculine about the sleeve that they've given her. And they've even kind of... what did I write? That they have a flared cuff on her sleeve, which you can't really see that well in this picture, but it's, you know, it's right at her wrist. And it's also actually even a little bit longer than her wrist, which I'm not really sure if that was like... what the intention of that was. It almost makes it look like it's too big for her? But there's something kind of masculine about the shoulder width that they've given her in this particular look. And then the fact that they've given her this really structured kind of pleated area that kind of like frames her bust. So again, this kind of very masculine, almost spencer jacket looking garment, or pelisse garment that we talked about from "Emma." That's worn over this really beautiful--same thing as Simon--that velvet kind of luxurious fabric for the dress underneath. One of the things that I did want to point out with her... it's interesting because even her hairstyle, it's sort of like a halfway between the Marie Antoinette kind of piled-up look...
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
...and the more natural look of Daphne and the more contemporary kind of Regency styling that they've chosen to give to this world. So she's-- it's interesting to me that she isn't quite the royalty character, but she's almost like the one step down from Queen Charlotte.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
So there's kind of different hierarchies of who all these people are and what status they belong to, and what wealth bracket they belong to. So I wanted to focus on that. She again is also in those really warm kind of passionate colors, because I do also see her character as very passionate. So I really loved that. And I think they did a really good job of tying her in with Simon very well.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And even though they're not in the scene together in this particular frame, you can definitely see the association between the two of them.
Sarah
I want to say about that sleeve, I've seen that extended sort of cuff--that like sort of hits the knuckles--I've seen that happening. That's like a now thing, I think that they have added because I've seen it in like some high fashion menswear where like, it'll be like a blazer, like a tailored jacket, but then the cuff flares out at the bottom and like...
Jojo
Right, right,
Sarah
...goes past where it usually does.
Jojo
It's like, intentionally longer.
Sarah
Yeah. So that's a fun contemporary little touch.
Jojo
Yeah. So this was a really good marrying of like, contemporary and, you know, that period.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
What else did I write on here? Oh! Well, I mentioned the kind of wider, more masculine shoulders. I think one thing that was really interesting was I was thinking a little bit more about Joan Crawford from the kind of late 1940s. And sort of that same idea of like, the really broad shoulders on a very feminine silhouette. And I think that was some of what I was getting... I don't know if that was what Ellen intended. But that was sort of the same feeling I was getting from this, especially knowing that she kind of was utilizing 1950s and 1960s colors. And that she-- I think there was something in one of the interviews that mentioned her looking at the new Dior look of the 1947 era.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
So just sort of bringing in even some small subtle details of that silhouette. You can definitely see that in this costume.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
And then to focus on Anthony... and like, you know, we've talked in the past about how interesting menswear is, in comparison to womenswear. And it's usually not... there's not... I don't want to say that it's not interesting, but there's not as much to talk about, I feel like.
Sarah
Yeah, it's still pants and shirts and jackets. [laughs]
Jojo
And I can't really say that, but even in this particular scene, you know, Anthony actually does feature a pretty standard tuxedo from that era, the Regency tuxedo, and it is a cutaway coat. One of the things that I do love about this is that in comparison to the luxurious velvets of Simon, he's certainly in more of a traditional kind of almost... it looks like wool.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
I don't know if that's exactly what the material was. But just based on the images that we're seeing here. You know, it's a pretty traditional black and white, that's pretty standard for tuxedos of that time. And like, you know, they would have dressed really nice. And I think Anthony's family is still at a level of wealthiness that he can afford, you know, nicer fabrics. Not that they're not all wearing really nice fabric, but just sort of styled in different ways. He really does have his neck mostly covered for a majority of the time. And I don't think that has anything to do with not wanting him to be sexy, because he certainly sleeps around...
Sarah
Right.
Jojo
...quite a bit in the show as well. [laughs] But there's this sense of, he constantly needs to look put together. And there's this uptightness about his character because he basically has the entire family's reputation on his shoulders.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
So they've really kept him--his neck--really wrapped up in the scene. And again, kind of going back to that separating of him versus Simon in this scene. I think it's a really good juxtaposition of the two of them across from each other. Because he's so well done up with his stock and his ascot in place. Versus Simon, who I think in this scene, he's got nothing around his neck. So it's essentially just kind of open, and it's almost like a modern sensibility. When we think about the unbuttoned shirt, right...
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
...that's a more casual look for men, when they leave their chest open.
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
Versus when they have a fully done up button at the neck. So they definitely did that to separate these two men in general. I also love the shape of this vest, it is very Regency, and I think that's been obviously-- I think-- let me go back. [laughs] But I was gonna say, I really love that Ellen stuck to more of the traditional Regency silhouette for this, because I think this definitely looks much more Regency and much more close to the historical silhouette of that time for men especially.
Sarah
Yeah, he looks so traditional too, and that makes sense with his character because he cares so much about the standing of his family, and their reputation, and adhering to tradition. So him wearing a more period accurate Regency thing makes sense, especially next to Simon, who is more modern and doesn't really care about that kind of thing, even though... I mean, he cares about his family, but not in the way of reputation or like...
Jojo
Yes, definitely.
Sarah
...tradition, or whatever.
Jojo
It's very different priorities.
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
For sure. And then-- again, this is such a small detail, but the fact that he's got so many of those gold buttons, again, it's kind of a show of wealth. If you actually look at a lot of the fashion plates from this time period, his jacket is much more open than the ones that you typically see in that time period. Which... I don't know if it was just the designer being like, "Let's feature that thing." [both laugh]
Sarah
Mmhmm.
Jojo
Like, "We worked so many hours on this costume, let's do it." And you can't necessarily-- you don't necessarily see the color in this one. But there were a couple interviews I was looking at where you do get to see a lot more color for the menswear. And it is mostly like dark blues and navies, but they're very rich blues, that you see in other episodes of this season. This particular look is a little closer to the traditional black, but I do love that Ellen has thrown in some of those other deeper colors for menswear, and didn't just keep it all black tuxedos all the time.
Sarah
Yeah. I like the blue that he wears. But I will say that I did not realize that all three of the white men were Daphne's brothers until several episodes in, because they're virtually indistinguishable from each other. And they all wear the same color. So I thought that some of them were the same person. I didn't realize there were three of them. Like... [both laugh]
Jojo
So funny. Yeah. And I feel like they're kind of carbon copies of each other. I don't think there was as much of a distinctiveness between the three brothers.
Sarah
Yeah. Toward the end, they develop more of their own personalities, but not at the beginning. At the beginning. I was like, "Wait, who's this one? Didn't we just see him?" [both laugh]
Jojo
"Wait, they're NOT the same person?"
Sarah
Yeah.
Jojo
Yeah. So I think, overall, you know, obviously, this show was definitely one of those shows that you kind of get sucked in very fast. So that's why we wanted to cover it. But I think, you know, rather than looking at all the historical anachronisms that are in this... because, again, that is not the point of these costumes. I think just being able to enjoy how contemporary this is, and how Shonda has brought in a lot of the kind of diverse cast and the diverse... even the diverse culture that she's created in this world, I think is definitely the bigger point that we want to focus on for this show.
Sarah
Yeah, I think it's a beautiful sort of like fantasy, you know? Because these-- it's based on books, and they're basically fantasy, bodice-ripper romances, and you want to be able to escape into that world. And I really like that the world she's created for us to escape into is so colorful, so diverse, so different and unique. And when's the last time a period drama like this made such a splash? I can't remember...
Jojo
Yeah, it's very true.
Sarah
...one getting this popular recently, so clearly, they have a winning formula happening.
Jojo
For sure.
Sarah
They're doing something right.
Jojo
And they have eight more seasons left of this! So...
Sarah
There's lots of books right?
Jojo
There's gonna be plenty of material to cover.
Sarah
Yeah, I like how it's sort of like a Regency era "Gossip Girl," basically. [laughs]
Jojo
Yeah, I literally... when I started watching this, I was gonna ask my husband to watch with me and he was like, "Wait, so this is just 'Gossip Girl,' but set in the Regency era?" He was like, so disinterested. [both laugh] I was like, "Okay, you don't have to watch with me, fine."
Sarah
Oh, man.
Jojo
But yes, very much a "Gossip Girl" vibe.
Sarah
Yes, yes. I mean, shout out to, like-- I have a couple of straight male friends who were really into it. So shout out to them, I hope they listen. Because they asked me if I was gonna cover it. So you better listen.
Jojo
Yep, here it is! And that does conclude our episode, our little bonus episode of this. We're at 40 minutes!
Sarah
Pretty good!
Jojo
We tried to keep this short...
Sarah
I'll trim some out.
Jojo
...but pretty good.
Sarah
And then it'll be like 35 or so. [both laugh]
Jojo
Yes, exactly. So hopefully you've enjoyed our very brief coverage of "Bridgerton." It's a fun show to watch. It's easy to get sucked into, there's a lot that happens and now there's eight more seasons that are, you know, projected after this. So looking forward to that and more of Shondaland. So hopefully...
Sarah
Yeah, it's a nice little escape from the real world for a while.
Jojo
Definitely.
Sarah
Watch pretty people fall in love. What could go wrong? [both laugh]
Jojo
Exactly. In the Regency era.
Sarah
Yeah. Beautiful.
Jojo
Perfect. Well, thanks, Sarah!
Sarah
Thanks, JoJo!
Jojo
This was fun! And look forward to our musical theatre episode coming in next month.
Sarah
Yep. Look forward to that.
Jojo
Perfect.
Sarah
And watch "Meet Me in St. Louis."
Jojo
Yes.
Sarah
Okay.
Jojo
Thanks, guys.
Sarah
Thank you!
Jojo
We'll see you next time.
Sarah
Bye!
