Do you have any advice on how to distract yourself? I am under so much stress because we are having earthquakes, corona outbrakes, my joints are screaming because of the weather change and i can't draw or play music like i usually do so i need some new distractions. I'm sorry if this is a little negative but idk who else to ask :(. I hope you are doing well, have a nice and calm day

While none of these suggestions are “new”, I’ll try to come up with some ideas for various distractions you can try if you haven’t already. 

Find comfort in the old. In these scary times, don’t be afraid to seek out comfort and distraction in your old faves. Reread that book you loved so much when you were a kid. Play that computer game you played non-stop years ago and then forgot about. Rewatch your favorite childhood show from start to finish. Listen to the band you adored when you were 13. Don’t worry about whether the media in question is considered “cringy” or “cool” nowadays, just find comfort in and rediscover the joys of your childhood and teenage years wherever you can.

Delve into something entirely new. Try watching the first episode of that TV show you’ve been planning to watch but never got around to. Read that book your friend recommended. Listen to some new music. Buy that video game you’ve always wanted to try (if you have the money!) Explore new options for entertainment and distraction with an open mind cause who knows, maybe that show which has been on your to-watch list for three years will turn out to be one of the best ones you’ve ever watched?

Find an outlet for your thoughts and feelings. Whether it’s a private word document, a simple notebook, a fancy scrapbook, your tumblr or your best friends inbox doesn’t matter - but make sure you have a place where you can talk openly and honestly about what you’re thinking or feeling. Whatever you do, don’t bottle everything up! Plus, future historians are going to love finding your quarantine diary.

Do something - anything! While it is fine to spend time doing “nothing” and while it makes sense if you’re struggling to be super productive right now, make sure to occasionally do something active which actually has a tangible result. It doesn’t have to be something big and significant, it just has to be. Bake some cookies. Doodle something cute and put it on the refrigerator. Write a blog post. Clean your desk. Make sure that when the next wave of existential dread inevitably hits you, you can tell yourself “actually I DID do something today and that matters!”

Don’t be afraid to get deeply invested in whatever entertains you. If you really like that podcast, listen to it for hours while doing all your boring but necessary chores. If listening to that band brings you joy, put ‘em on repeat. If that show is really good, binge-watch the shit out of it. Play that video game for hours if you want to. Read that 300.000 word fanfiction in just a couple days. Find joy wherever you can and don’t be afraid to hold on tightly when something actually manages to catch your full attention. 

Try to stay active in whatever ways you can. If you’re abled enough to do so, try to make sure that you move your body in some capacity. Go for a walk or a run if you can, or, if you’re in quarantine, find some indoors exercises you can do. Lots of different beginner level exercise instructions are freely available online, so if you don’t already know what to do, there’s a lot of step by step videos out there which can help you get started. Everything counts, though - including dancing to your favorite music for just a couple minutes or simply getting up to stretch - so don’t feel like you have to force yourself to do more than you can actually manage.

Try not to neglect basic self-care. I know it’s hard to find the energy to take proper care of yourself even when the world ISN’T falling apart, but if you can do just one thing, let that be taking care of your body (and mind!) to the best of your ability. Try to eat regularly, take that shower even though it seems pointless, do your best to make sure you get enough sleep, try to keep your environment somewhat clean and organized… I’m sure you know the drill already. But whatever else you do or don’t do, not taking care of your basic needs will only make everything worse.

Do That Thing! You know that thing you’ve always said you’d love to do at some point but yet you haven’t really found the time or the energy required to actually get started? Well guess what, if you have the energy, now might be a good time to start getting into it. There’s a lot of free online resources out there which can help you get started on almost anything you might be interested in learning. So if you’ve always been thinking that it might be fun to learn Spanish or sign language someday, or if you’ve always wanted to learn how to code, draw anatomically correct people, embroider your own patches, do yoga or bake fancy cakes, try it out. Who knows, you might discover a brand new passion of yours!

Stay in touch with your favorite people. Even if you cannot hang out in person, make sure to stay in touch with your loved ones in whatever ways you safely can. Make sure that you talk to someone, even if it’s via phone calls, skype, facetime, snapchat, discord or whatever else you might personally prefer to use. No, it’s not the same as actually sitting in front of each other in person, but it’s still a whole lot better than not talking to anyone at all. If you’re self-isolating with other people and they aren’t toxic/abusive, make sure you actually talk to them and that you do some fun activities together every once in a while. It’ll all help distract you.

where you post: ao3!! tbh i always get suprised when people say they write/read fic on any other platform like i haven’t messed around w wattpad or ff.net since middle school... catch up........

most popular oneshot: going just by “one chapter” as the definition of a oneshot, the firestarters, bc it’s fluffy and modern au :) i wouldn’t necessarily call it a oneshot tho bc to me a oneshot shows like, one scene? so like by my definition and your sweet sweet sun makes me crazy (i wanna lay you down and see how you amaze me is my most popular!! (also @ kit u thought UR fic titles were unnecessarily long??? i’ve hit the ao3 LIMIT for characters in titles. it’s about the aesthetic

most popular multichapter fic: sdkjflakjlkj it’s two crowned kings; and one that stood alone, which is a w359 fic i wrote back in late 2017. it’s literally the last fic i haven’t orphaned from when i actually wrote podcast fic (i have 4 other podcast fics but they were all borne out of nostalgia and written after i stopped participating in the fandom). i rewrote all but the last chapter? the last two? about a year ago and i fucked up halfway through so like chapter 6 and 7 are repeated and there’s something missing but i’m too lazy to fix it. no one’s going to read it now anyway :) it WAS the top minlace fic for a little while tho which i take great pride in.

favorite story you’ve written so far: oh that’s a hard question akfsldkfj i honestly like most of them!! and i write a LOT so there’s a lot to choose from. tonight, we are young is def one of my favorites- it was fun to write and i got to explore the ways zuko and yue r similar, which i LOVE to do outside of a zukka/yukka view. you can lean on my arm as you break my heart  is one that i’m really proud of? the whole “cooking as an expression of bato’s love” is definitely some of my favorites. a lot of my ace attorney fics would be categoried as my favorites if i hadn’t improved, too, if that makes sense. like they’re no long my favorites because i can see where my writing is shitty and it bothers me, but if i had written them a month ago they’d be my favorite.

fic you were nervous to post: figures 1-5: killing gods def!! it’s a lot more purple-prose-y than most of my fics and it was also written before i’d kinda like emersed myself in the atla fandom so i didn’t have as good a grasp on the general understanding of zuko’s character as i do now. tbh it’s one i’m rly happy w tho!! i have a few people leave really nice comments on it and rereading them makes me really happy. also it was the start of me hating the position of fire lord and being at least passively anti-it in my fics.

how you choose your titles: they’re almost all song lyrics!! only 14 of my 50 words AREN’T song lyrics and about half of those are from before i started writing ace attorney fic lol. sometimes i go into a fic with a song in mind for the vibes and then i usually go with lyrics from that (like in ‘cuz we’re the greatest /they’ll hang us in the louvre), but otherwise i usually pick an artist i’ve been listening to and go through their songs until i find a lyric that fits. sometimes the lyric doesn’t even really fit the fic and i just chose it at random or because i searching up the word “fly” in my spotify library or whatever. honestly i like coming up with titles? i know a lot of fic writers hate it but being able to just use song lyrics is v soothing for me and while i know that most people won’t search out a song just bc it’s a fic title like.. seeing that the title of a fic is a hozier lyric does affect how i read it and i kinda like that.

do you outline? i outline my long form/multichaptered fics with varying strictness. usually anything over ~8k will have some kind of outline. sometimes i go into it with every single scene planned out, sometimes it’s just notes on the side of the google doc that say “it's about MORE family. about how it's not betraying your existing family to find more” and “scenes i want to include: [...]” and “vampires... ngl kinda hot.” i’m trying to outline super strictly less bc i’ve found it’s less fun? but i do try to keep a plot arc in mind. since most of my fics are more character-driven than plot-driven, that usually just means keeping track of what character development i want to happen or what is motiviating the characters. 

complete: um everything posted on ao3 i guess. also the MULTITUDE of orphaned fics out there asksfjldkj i always click ‘leave my pseud on’ so if u look up my username you see all of my fics and then a. lot of other ones.

in progress: - a fic titled ‘dad phoenix’ that is actually just a no DL-6 au with defense attorney miles edgeworth and single dad bartender phoenix where neither of them want to date for A While but phoenix gets wrapped up in one of miles’s cases. it’s about family. it’s about writing teenagers. it’s about the background franmaya which is ALWAYS what i’m here for in wrightworth fics - a franmaya werewolf/vampire au because i’m ~gay~ and love rivals to lovers and also franziska and maya both being angry their older brothers r dating each other. - my secret santa fic!! which i can’t talk about much but it does feature toph and zuko and also piandao and jeong jeong???? idk where they came from but they are Part Of The Fic Now also i forgot iroh existed for half the fic and wrote piandao as zuko’s father figure and now i’m in too deep. - a 5+1 bakoda fic (maybe a bato/hakoda/kay fic??? i need to decide. that’s part of why this fic is still incomplete bc i can’t decide which relationship dynamic i prefer) that’s 5 times bato said he loves hakoda and one time hakoda said it back. possibly i have already written him saying i love u back and i need to change the title a little. - retail au klapollo where klavier works at an overpriced boutique and apollo comes in to buy earrings for nahyuta’s birthday. klavier gives him a punch card (one that the store doesn’t actually offer anymore as a bid to get apollo to come back) and all of apollo’s family come in to use the punch card and also give klavier variations on the shovel talk/find out if he’s actually into apollo. - a LOT of atla fics that i don’t think i’ll ever finish :(

coming soon/not yet started:  - i want to write some blackmadhi bc they’re.. cute..... and it’s a good excuse to also write athena and i love her - my stuff for yueki week!!! i have NOT prepped enough but hopefully i’ll remember in time! i wrote the prompts in a way that kinda set up stuff i’ve already wanted to write (don’t look at me lol) so hopefully i’ll get at least two or three fics finished in time. - i want to rewrite the wrightworth fic i have about them not getting married bc it was interesting and i like what i wrote about but i think i could have written it better and made it more interesting. rewriting fics is hard tho bc i’m never sure if it makes sense to just edit in the new work or to repost it? and then if u repost it do u delete the old one? conflicting so i might just not

do you accept prompts? totally!!! a disclaimer tho i’m not super into writing atla stuff anymore (most of the atla stuff i’m still writing is  something i made a commitment to finish) so if your prompt is an atla one i probably won’t do it :/ basically anything else is fair game tho!! podcasts/aa/sa/uh i don’t remember anything else but like if you search a fandom on my blog and come up with more than two posts about it chances r i’d be happy to write fic for it!

upcoming work that you’re most excited about: oh huh i mean probably the no dl-6 au!!! it’s the longest ace attorney fic i’ve written already and since it’s wrightworth it’ll get more attention than any franmaya fic i write. my standards r so high now tho after getting to much feedback from atla fans... love u all... obviously i have no choice but to pressure my atla mutuals into playing ace attorney. pls ask abt it bc i WIll Give You A Sales Pitch about why you’d like it in relation to atla

A List of My Fave Youtubers

At this point, Youtube has become a whole different platform with very specific content. I spend hours on Youtube watching vlogs, challenges, unboxings etc.. There Youtubers are friends I wish I had, basically. It’s a one sided friendship. 

1. Shane Dawson

Shane is on top of my list because I just finished his book ‘It Gets Worse’ and his sense of humour, his book, his personality his entire a being is a ray of sunshine and he is an inspiration. 10/10 would recommend. Also started watching his vids only after he started dating Ryland who is my babe and is at the end of this list because this list is no particular order.

Also would highly recommend Trying Dumb Life Hacks cuz that’s what got me hooked. Shane eating weird shit and trying to burn his house down. Here’s a whole playlist.

2. Alex Wassabi 

Another Youtuber I watch because of their significant other. Honestly didn’t know him before he started dating LaurDiy who is also on this list. Honestly, they’re couple goals. I watch Lauren’s Vlog and Alex’s Vlog and it’s like I was their at their anniversary in Hawaii. I might be a little too invested in them... I follow their dogs on Instagram. But they’re so positive and Alex is so funny and focused and kind :’) If you ain’t smiling, you’re doing it wrong guise!!

3. LaurDiy

So I’ve ben subscribed to LaurDiy for years and she’s always been my fave from the Asian girl squad (which is Remi, Mia, Tiffany + honorary Alisha sometimes). I love all these girls and have had phases with all but Lauren is so cute and her DIYs honestly make sense (not like I’m actually recreating any tbh).I love her DIY challenge series, BRING IT BACK @LAURDIY  Honestly her music videos and stuff is lame but I’m glad she’s living her best life. I think the couple vlogs are hella fun! :D 

4. Meghan Rienks

OMG TIME FOR MY LITERAL QUEEN MEGHAANN. She replied to me on Twitter once. She said and I quote “Hahhahahhahah fuck you” y’know what they say if you can make your girl laugh and she want’s to fuck me wink wink Anyway Meghan’s been my fave since idk she was in highschool? I was in highschool? We the same age. She’s actually a month older than me. Yes, I know her birthday. No, that’s not weird. Anyway, after highschool she went to college, joined a sorority, got bullied? (idk why I put the ? I know she did. We got through it though), dropped out of college, did this one show on AwesomenessTV with Lauren Elizabeth which was pretty funny. got a house, a car, did a TV show (Freakish on Hulu), is in a movie with Ali from PLL and is basically is a real housewife at this point. I have been with her through her whole journey and sent her countless asks on Tumblr @meghanrosette thanks for the acknowledgement

Any Meghan is super funny. She is a “beauty blogger” but like let’s be real everyones watching cuz shes funny and relatable and also gorgeous. Like she’s not useful for actual tips I guess but A+ entertainment. Like honestly one time she went to the VS fashion show and took a pic with Gigi and passed as a model? Unreal She still does fashion/ beauty videos. She bakes. She also does this podcast called Don’t Blame Me and Grace Helbig, my other queen was on the last episode so the fangirl in me is ded rn.  

5. Clevver Style

Honestly, this is my goal. I don’t think this is where the channel was supposed to go. But bitches love trash content. Every video they do is so informative on trends but also so funny. Lily and Joslyn are like the two best friends I never had. Or did but we haven’t talked since that one fight in London... 

Anyway, Beauty Break is my fave show. Idk what else they do except for Lunchy Break which I thought was a joke but now it’s a full blown show?  They should do more of Dirty Laundry tbh.

Meghan is on a lot of episodes of Beauty Break but I love them equally and individually without any bias. A+ Would Recommend 

6. Grace Helbig

I’ve honestly been into Grace since Daily Grace which seems like a decade ago but I don’t think Youtube is that old. Grace, Mamrie and Hanna Hart are the literal Holy Trinity of Youtube. Grace is the funniest imo. I am obsessed with her Fashion reviews for Red Carpets. They are so mean without being mean spirited at all and that’s comedy goals. Out of everyone on this list, no one makes me happier than Grace because she is the funniest. Also she’s not just a youtuber check Dirty30 Movie and Camp Takota! And Not Too Deep!

7. 7. JennxPenn

Jenn’s book “Really Professional Internet Person” is a fucking gem and honestly has so much good advice! Jenn’s always done edgy content but she is supeeerrr funny. She does mostly like viral challenges, she’s even created a few I think. She once let a Postmates guy come into her house and do her makeup?? I think shes hella cool and relatable. I love her style (?) There’s not really much to it but I feel it. I like Jenn. You go Jenn. 

8. Mr. Kate

OMG SHE IS A FUCKING GENIUS. So you know how you start a YouTube video and their voice is annoying so you’re like fuck it I can’t and you go watch something else. Now I’m really sorry Mr. Kate I love you, but her voice is kinda squeaky?? Sorry!! But  stick with her she is AMAZING. She has done EVERYONE’S ROOM! Wait I forgot to mention in my excitement. Mr. Kate is an interior decorator? + artist. She is a fucking genius! Like all your fave Youtubers including but not limited to Superwoman’s room and office, Liza Koshy, MyLifeAsEva, and Meghan, Joslyn, Grace’s office that she shares with Mamrie and Hanna. And literally every other popular Youtuber. She has a few different shows on her channel. All relating to room makeovers. I personally love Omg! We’re Coming Over: Digitally Famous where she does YouTubers houses. Mostly cuz I’m a creep but also because I’m into home decor. Other fun series on her channel are Breaking Beige and Office Goals on the Road!

Also special mention to her husband, Joey. He’s in all of the videos and does all the more manly heavy work. They’re couple goals. Cuuuuteeee.

9. The Sorry Girls

The Sorry Girls are Kelsey and Becky. They do some amazing DIYs. And this is not your average spray paint glue gun DIY. These girls are hardcore. But it’s honestly empowering how they just casually use a fucking saw and build things. Their videos are very original and very aesthetically pleasing. I personally love their Dollar Store DIYs because it’s stuff we can actually find here in India and are still pretty doable. My fave is that they each make a DIY and kinda compete? at whose  better. I just like competitions I guess. I also love their Thrift Flip series!

These girls have honestly inspired me to use a sewing machine and a saw so thanks guys!

10. Ryland Adams

MY BABE. What I love most about Ryland is his editing style. It’s freaking hilarious. But I loved him before he got his own channel. He was on Clevver News.  He did a few different shows on there but I don’t think he’s there anymore? But I could be wrong I don’t know everything but I haven’t seen him in a while. Anyway love the life he’s living with Shane from the top of this list. He’s so cute and funny I wanna be friends with them.
