Would you ever write a story without smut/romance?

I'm inclined to say no to this one... I wrote a smutless fic once before and not only was it my worst performing story (both here and on AO3) but I don't particularly care for it either, when I read it now it doesn't feel like me or my style. (And it wasn't! At the time I was made to feel like I wasn't a "real" author bc I only wrote smut and so that fic was born out of insecurity and self-imposed pressure to prove myself as a writer.)

As for no romance... I honestly don't know what I would write about then 😂 Interpersonal dynamics/relationships and intimacy are the topics I like exploring most in my writing and obviously that doesn't always have to mean romance but with my aforementioned penchant for including smut, that's naturally where my creative brain lives. Never say never but I would be surprised if I suddenly had a burst of non-romantic inspiration.

#I'd say no smut is more likely than no romance #but neither are very likely lol #wrt the no smut thing #obviously the 'performance' of a fic has little to do with the quality of it and is generally not something i take to heart #but in this case i think it's notable bc it indicated to me that my audience has certain expectations #and is used to a certain flavor of fic from me #and also maybe my reputation AS a smut author was deterring non-smut readers from checking out the fic despite its cleaner content #and since I felt weird writing it lol #there was just no denying it was a failed experiment 🤷🏻‍♀️#anon #kh4f writing #ask #writing ask game #would you ever asks

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ but that’s just me! also let’s stop telling victims that mutual abuse is a thing, they should be allowed to beat their asses back for laying a hand on them first! it’s quite literally classified as self defense & mutual abuse is a myth perpetuated by misogynists & defense lawyers as a way to shut victims up about their own abuse & discredit them - it’s very much harmful . also if you think amber’s bruises were faked you’re an idiot idk there were actual medical examiners that proved it & if you’re gonna use milani as an example they just jumped on a quick little hate train for their failing business bc they lied about the product as well so they’re going to hell too ! last thing I’m saying about this as well I just hate unintelligent people <3 hope u have a good day mona!

they love to forget the alternative to not fighting back can be death. that's the reality. you have no idea what you can be brought to doing when you're being psychologically abused and i hope even the people who deny amber's account never have to experience that.
